Took my dog there as previous vet was unable to diagnose her frequent (and probably chronic) diarrhea problem. Previous vet suggested MRI and expensive procedure as they suspected very serious issues. I wanted a second opinion and was recommended to Dr. Liu by my groomer. Dr. Liu was very patient and detailed in asking about every incident that happened to my dog in the past 3 years. He made notes and spent personal time on the weekend to review all the faxed copies of records from previous vet. He then spent 2 hours explaining to us what he saw and his assessment of my dog's health condition. We started new medication and gradually adjusted the food for her. 18 months later, my dog is much healthier and active, and we have a good control over her stomach problems. We are grateful we went to see Dr. Liu. The only inconvenience is the clinic's location from where we live plus the very limited parking spaces. Despite that, we will continue bringing my dog over to see Dr. Liu. His assistants are all very helpful and pleasant to talk to.

Dr Liu and his assistant Cherlyne have been amazing during the care of my cat Pumpkin, who is epileptic. They have shown to be incredibly compassionate while she has undergone regular bloodwork and other very uncomfortable tests. Diagnosing her was extremely emotionally exhausting for me (not to mention financially) but they have been very understanding, and even cut me a deal during at least one appointment. Their prices are very good to begin with, at least compared to Pumpkin's usual vet. I highly recommend this clinic!

I had to bring my cat (Blue) in December 2017 due to a blockage. I was extremely upset knowing that I may lose him. Dr Lui and his staff were very friendly wonderful and compassionate people..My kitty is nervous around most people but at the hospital he feels right at home. Decided to leave this vet clinic and take my pet elsewhere. The vet seems to be interested in making as much money as he can out of each appointment. Every time we visit, Dr. Lui always tries to sell us dog food for our pet. Felt a lump on our dog and frighten us by saying that our dog has cancer and is going to need surgery without doing any tests.... Asked if we were on welfare for taking our dog to get their vaccines at the humane society. A vet should respect the decisions you make for your pet without patrionizing you. I do not recommend this vet what so ever.

Can’t say I had a good experience, ir even a decent one at that. All the vet did was not listen to me and instill fear in order to overcharge for services. Avoid at all costs.

I scheduled our dog for her checkup and arrived 5 minutes early. For whatever reason they could not find our dogs file and kept us outside in the baking sun while they looked. After 15 minutes in direct sun and a temperature of 32 degrees I asked if we could come inside while they looked for our file. I was rudely told to stay outside even though I was the first appointment of the afternoon and nobody else was there. They were totally unprofessional and I will never come back to this vet ever again!

Well I have been going to this animal hospital for more then 14yrs and all I have got out of it is that all that matters is money, no compaction no emotion nothing every visit I have done here has always been over 200$ I only came here cause it was close by but I don't really recommend this to anyone enless you got no choice.

I was extremely disappointed! We had an appointment for 10am on a Saturday..showed up 945am of course we can't go in due to covid19..they left outside waiting over a 35 minutes..finally had enough. Tried to call them to let them know and they put us on hold..customer service leaves something to be desired..had they told us it was going to be a wait we could've made our own choice..

My experience here has been exceptional.My two fur babies are in the best care I have found here in the York area. I have used other vets and in no way do they match up to Dr. Lui and his team. I would and have recommended Dr. Lui to my friends and family. Give them a try and see for ourself.

I've been taking my cat Simba to Dufferin Animal Hospital for about eight years now. Dr. Liu and his amazing staff (Charlene, Victoria, Alexis, Sam) have been absolutely wonderful in helping me identify issues early and taking care of Simba, especially as he's been getting older. Not long ago, I sat with Dr. Liu for over an hour discussing Simba after he'd been having a lot of trouble keeping food down. The thoroughness paid off, and Simba is doing much better. Please be kind to these people who want nothing but to help you and your animals. And if you ever see Lilly (their lovely cat) walking about, please give her a loving pat.

This week, I had to say goodbye to my dear companion Nina.. I'm not sure that I would have received the closure that I did had I not taken my mother's recommendation to try taking my cat to see Dr. Liu and his team. After a two month struggle that involved several visits to my usual vet, before and after a $3500 visit to the VEC, my two-year-old cat had a voracious appetite but was struggling to keep food down and was wasting away the whole while. No one seemed to be able to provide any answers for what was going on, just recommendations for more arbitrary tests that resulted in more non-answers. We brought Nina to see Dr. Liu as a last resort.. we didn't know what else to do (especially after being so financially depleted) so we thought the opinion of another vet would help, especially because he has provided quality care for my mother's dogs and has decades of experience. He was extremely professional and re-assuring, taking the time to sit down with me to build a proper pathology for Nina to fully understand her medical history. During the time that followed, we were able to try some different strategies and medications which seemed to help initially until her condition would worsen again. The whole time, we were incredibly supported by Dr. Liu. He would check in with us regularly to see how Nina was doing, an experience I've never received before. It was clear that even though his patient wasn't in front of him, he was turning over her case in his mind to try and figure out what the source of her problems was. Long story short, after performing radiology, we discovered a large (likely cancerous) mass in Nina's chest.. the source of her problems. Sadly, this story did not have a happy ending.. by this point, there was nothing to be done in this scenario. However, I am grateful for the fact that I was able to say goodbye to my beloved pet on my terms, while she was still Nina and not on death's door, knowing and understanding why it had to be done, and being able to accept that we did what we could. She didn't suffer. I was able to be there with her, as awful and difficult as it was. Dr. Liu and his staff made us feel very comforted on what was the hardest day of my year.. and it's been a hard year for all of us. Thank you and God bless.

Our family has lived in this neighbourhood about 30 years and Dr. Liu has been this neighbourhood's vet even longer. Over that time our family has brought 2 cats and ferret. Just recently I've adopted a 4 month old kitten. My experience has been nothing but positive. Him and his staff always provided great service. They've been there since all our pets were babies to the sad moments when you have to say goodbye. I would not have brought my Tyja had I not have 100% confidence in their professionalism and competitive fair pricing.

Decision-making around pets' medical care is always tough, and expensive. We love them and want the best for them, regardless of cost. My experiences at Dufferin Animal Hospital have all been completed satisfactory. Dr. Lui has been around for quite some time. I remember him caring for my dog in the 90's. He has since past. However, this time around I brought a new pack of dogs to him with various health concerns. He took the time to examine each one and detailed their medical records, then he explained their symptoms and provided treatment for them. In turn my dogs received him well as he was very patient and understanding. Charlene front desk/assistant/everything else makes you feel at ease when visiting. She speaks to all owners and pets and gives very good advise. Her kindness, empathy, warm smile and helpfulness makes everyone have a good experience while visiting. My dogs simply love her!!! Now parking is kinda tight and very few spots available but, people are always finding parking solutions when visiting. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a veterinary to give Dufferin Animal Hospital a try. You will not be disappointed.

Love this place and everyone who works here! Dr. Liu has been caring for my two Jack Russells for 12 years now and we are always so happy with his advice for our dogs as they get older. He understands our animals so well and his staff members are very diligent about the details of our pets' health. (We are always impressed by how positive and friendly they are with the animals who stop by.) Everyone at the Dufferin Animal Hospital takes animal health as seriously as my husband and I do. Vet costs are reasonable and Dr. Liu is always willing to answer questions about what to look for if there's something we're worried about. We've seen him for very serious reasons (one time, our eldest dog ingested grapes) and also for easy check-ups-- and each time he's been a kind and wise source of information. Dr. Liu and his team are excellent!!

Dr.Liu is highly recommended as a professional and caring Vetenarian. I have brought my cat Benny, March 5 because he wasn't eatingor drinking. Dr. Lui discovered the infection in his gums and took the procedures to heal him. Since then, daily check up calls from Sharleen and staff to make sure Benny is healing and eating. It is now a week later and Bennys gums are better and he is eating and drinking. I am pleased to acknowledge the compassionate and professional care Dr. Lui, Sharleen and staff have demonstrated. I am going to say something really serious here. Dr. Liu is a type of doctor that looks at easy money making. He is overpriced than many other veterinarians. He prescribed for my dog life-long anti-seizure medication (which are expensive in nature) without any exams or diagnosis. I assumed he just wanted to make more money for the day and not help treat my pet with the proper medical procedures that would be outside his clinic due to her symptoms. I didnt think that was right, so I changed vets and found out by another vet and other sources that she was not having seizures and had some other Neurological problems. Long story short, he gave me a very wrong diagnosis and could have been life threatening for my dog to take a medication that she wasn't supposed to because it changed the effect of electrical charges in he brain without it naturally having any unbalances. If you take your pet to him by choice, one advice is to never believe what he or other vet say without further exams or diagnosis. Even though he is the doctor, never believe until further proof of what he tells you what your pet may have. To me, this was a really bad experience and never going back here again.

Dufferin Animal Hospital is one of the best animal hospitals in Toronto. Dr. Lui and his team demonstrate what is professional and always show their loves to our four-legs friends. Dr. Lui is very experienced and always willing to discuss the illness in details with the pet owners. His team - Charlene, Victoria & Cassidy, all very kind and lovely ladies, will call pet owners to follow up how's their pets doing after taking the medication. What a terrible vet. Not only does he prescribe the same thing over and over but anytime you have a question about your dogs diagnosis hes sarcastic with his rebuttal and gives you a silly analogy and makes you feel dumb just for trying to understand about your dogs health. Seems hes always throwing the expenses of his facility to justify how much he tries to make you pay and hes always prescribing something else for a cash grab. Not only does he speak rudely to his clients but he was completely unprofessional and unethical as well to me and threatened to blacklist me and my dog for missing one appointment in the 5 years iv been going to him. I do not recommend this vet to anyone and i will never go back there. All the other employees and wonderful people but he is terrible.

We were forced to go to this hospital when our vet was on vacation and we are not going to come back even in an emergency. The staff were rude and condescending, tried to tell me that my VET RECCOMENDED food was "unsafe" and handed me an information page for DOG FOOD. We own a cat. The article they quoted had nothing to do with cats, even the person that wrote said article, was from the American Kennel Club, and a dog specialist. Once our regular vet came back, we spoke to them and they advised that the opinion given by Dufferin Animal Hospital was not reliable and instead bring the cat in to them. If you are going to give out information sheets telling people to throw away the food they have, and instead buy your expensive vet food, you should at least provide accurate information that actually applies to the animal you are caring for.

Gave me a quote on feline dental cleaning of $200-$2000 depending on tooth extractions. They called me from the operating room to increase this to $7200 + tax. Con artists. My cat has also been sick ever since, and I've had to get her treated by more honest vets.

THIS DOCTOR IS A COMPLETE MONEY GRAB SCAMMER. Although the front desk staff are nice, you can not ask this doctor a simple question with out being told there is a "consultation fee" for this and that. Not to mention, I brought my dog 3 times for the same issue and he couldn't solve anything after $600+ bill. After the fourth and final visit I brought my dog to Dufferin Davenport Veterinary and they cured him of his illness after his first visit under $150 with a completely different diagnosis! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!!
