Today was a difficult day. Thankfully, I was fortunate to meet Dr. Herman and visit York Veterinary Center. Dr. Herman and his amazing assistant lovingly and sweetly eased the pain for our beloved Thundar. There are no words. Thank you! More. I didn't even look at my receipt until I got home. I was shocked how LOW the charge was for this visit - especially compared to other clinics in my neighborhood. Impressive! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Herman and his team for all of your veterinary needs! Update 9/1/18: Today I received the sweetest handwritten note from Dr. Spencer (Herman)! What a lovely touch! Thank you so much! :-)

I cannot express my gratitude for Vork Vet. Center enough! I had a little emergency with my dog and was able to be seen immediately. When I arrived the vet techs were already waiting on her. They did a detailed history of the symptoms and she was looked at by the dr right away. Dr. Calvin gave me a call to update me on how the exam went and explained all of the medications she was given, why she was given them, and what they do. He was very reassuring and incredibly helpful. The entire staff really does treat your pets like family and I recommend them 100%!

Dr. Herman and the rest of the staff at York Veterinary Center are beyond amazing! After getting a new puppy, this was our first stop. Since our first appointment to our last, we leave feeling incredibly cared for. Shout out to Nadira for checking up on our pup every day following an appointment! There are no gimmicks as everything is priced fair and appropriately. Since our dog’s first vaccinations to getting neutered, Spencer and the rest of the team have really made owning a pet a wonderful experience as it should be!

My dog was diagnosed with cancer and Dr. Herman thought he could do the surgery. He was wrong - he failed to even remove the entire tumor, and during the surgery, my dog, while unconscious, fell off the operating table and hit her head on the floor. As he told me this during post-op, he flippantly remarked that “her pupils were unresponsive, but it wasn’t a big deal.” He should not have operated, should have known his limits, and should have acted as a normal, responsible, and capable veterinarian. Do not go to see him, do not trust him with your animals.

We just adopted a rescue dog and needed a local vet. We consulted the Facebook group from the adoption agency and had two glowing recommendations for York Veterinary. They managed to fit us in on the day and time of our choice and were incredibly professional with great bedside manners. They made us feel very comfortable and confident in their handling of our dog. They kept us informed throughout the process with regular calls and any changes to treatment and prices. Fees were typically for veterinary services so worthwhile considering pet insurance/wellness plan. Highly recommend York Vet.

Dr. Herman and his team are truly the best. They take the time to make you and your pets feel comfortable. It's a really nice office right across the street from a parking garage. Also it's only a 4 min walk from the Q! Dr. Herman is really good with my cats Lucy and Aidan. Lucy is very difficult but he's super patient with her. I also appreciate that Dr. Herman is honest and doesn't try to push extra services or unnecessary fees on me. He's easy to talk to and relatable. I'm so glad I found an awesome vet. Even if I have to travel all the way from Queens to see him!

Veterinarian Spencer Herman at the York Vet Center at 417 East 77th Street has become my vet for Charlie who is a precocious 5 month old Weimaraner. This majestic breed seems to be always getting into trouble and needs the care and concern of a savvy vet. Dr. Herman’s expert full service office is highly affordable and you know that he loves his profession. There seems to be no dog or cat problem he cannot effectively treat. .

I have a 14 year old dog that has a bunch of health issues. I have also moved quite a bit over the past 14 years so that combined with my dogs health issues, we have visited close to 50 veterinary clinics/hospitals, all over the USA. Out of them all, this clinic stands out. They’re reasonable, the doctors and staff care, and the simple things like medication refills just happen. I cannot recommend York Veterinary Center enough!

Just switched to this vet and had my first appointment and I would highly recommend. Dr. Herman made sure to discuss options with me for the treatment of my dog’s ear infection. When I went to pick up my dog they made sure to have a vet tech show me how to administer the medicine. The entire staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and I’m just happy that I found them!

Dr. Herman and his staff are quite remarkable. My 14 tabby Minnie was not feeling she was pooping outside the litter box and going into corners at she . wouldn't usually go. I took her to see Dr. Herman in late March and she was very sweet with him. Dr. Herman diagnosed with having a growth in her stomach mainly her intestines. He was very honest with me from the beginning and I could have had surgery on my kitty but it would given my kitty many years just a little more time. I did not want her to suffer and he gave her a steroid and a little bit of an I because she was dehydrated. On May 6th I took her back because she was very thin and did not want to eat. She weighed 5 lb and dr. Herman gave me the option what to do and I laid my kitty that I love so much to sleep. Dr. Herman and his staff are so genuine and caring they made me feel welcomed. I was able to say goodbye to my kitty and hold her in my arms once more. Dr. Herman is a phenomenal doctor with a heart first patients and for the people that bring in his patience. I recommend Dr. Herman to anyone seeking help for their four-legged friend or any animal that they have that they love.

York Vet has recently left me feeling so disappointed in their services and availability. It is all but impossible to get in touch or get appointments and I worry about the care and service. I have followed Dr. Herman from a prior practice and loved that this was a small, family feeling practice. I worry they have grown too much and now I cannot ever get in to see the Dr. that I feel I trust. Not sure where this leaves me, but I have heard from many others that this, and the attitude and unorganized ways of the front desk staff, has left many people looking for new vets for our fur babies.

A welcome addition to our neighborhood. I had been using another veterinary office since we got our dog, Coco, a little over two years ago. Although convenient, they were ridiculously expensive and I never got to see the same vet twice. Dr. Herman’s love for animals really shows through. He does not test unnecessarily, and his prices are extremely fair. The only vet I know where people stop in with their pets just to say hello. Coco doesn’t mind going and I am thrilled to find someone caring, excellent and convenient. Welcome to the neighborhood Dr. Herman!!

Dr. Spencer Herman was recommended to us from almost everyone on the UES doggy parks. Him and his team did not disappoint! We have been going for 2 years now and we only have positive things to say. They are very professional, knowledgeable, kind and trustworthy. They can almost always accommodate for last minute scheduling in the case of emergencies (our dog ate a mouse off the street). Never do you feel obligated or pressured. A true gem!

Dr. Herman was an angel. Great w the animals. My Cheeto was a nervous reck but after seeing him, & finishing the examination blood drawn, nail clipping,. Urine analysis, etc. I'd expected him to come out worse but it wasn't the case. So I do recommend this clinic. They are all wonderful in a professional way. And the cleanliness of the clinic is beyond belief. Once U enter U feel comfy & at home!!

Love this place! Love Dr. Herman and his caring and attentive assistant. My dog, Clover, does too and has changed her route at night so she can walk over in the hopes she might see him. Very caring, Dr. Herman explains everything thoroughly, especially to my 10 year old who told him she may be a vet herself one day. As she puts it, Dr. Herman and his staff really seem to be in this business because they truly love animals and care about their well being. Worth noting, Dr. Herman will not over prescribe. He considers everything before deciding the best treatment for your animal. Prices are reasonable.

This is a great neighborhood veterinary practice. My dog, Winston, loves Dr Herman. He has a great bedside manner. He has taken care of Winston since we brought him home at 8 weeks! Dr Herman has a full practice and takes great care of Winston. His rates are reasonable too!

The vet is great. However the front desk staff are not. I just spoke to gentleman who said he’s busy doing multiple things at once, gave me attitude and was not at all pleasant to speak to. If I’m mostly dealing with your staff, then I expect them to be professional and pleasant to deal with. Maybe some of them should be retrained with regards to customer service.

If you're looking for a veterinary practice that goes above and beyond, treats your pets exceptionally well and makes sure you're informed every step of the way, you've find the right place. Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Herman and the entire team. They even call the next day to make sure your pet is feeling okay and end the visit with delicious treats. It's always easy to schedule an appointment and they really do care about your pets. We shifted our veterinary services to york vet after having a terrible experience elsewhere on the UES that had left our puppy, Snowy scared and intimidated. Despite her fear and anxiety, they always handle Snowy extremely well. She has never let out so much as a howl when being handled and checked. I'm so so glad we found York Vet. Highly highly recommend. Thank you again, team york vet!

The care that we have received from Dr Calvin Ho has been great , he's responsive, caring and professional. All of the staff at York Vet Center are also very kind and professional, they have to deal with me calling all of the time, and they are always patient and compassionate.
