Every visit to Town & Country has been worth the drive from Toronto to Stouffville. I first visited the hospital several years ago to get a second opinion on whether to agree to an operation I was doubtful about and was advised not to proceed after a biopsy was taken. I have been going there ever since because my dog has not been subjected to invasive and unnecessary tests which cause undo stress. The depth of knowledge and years of combined expertise from all three Veterinarians is unsurpassed and so I will continue to bring my dog here because of the the superfine level of care.

I cannot say enough amazing things about the service we have received at Town & Country. All three of our dogs have been well taken care of for years at this clinic. A couple months ago, we had to take advantage of the 24/7 service. Dr. Brendon answered the call right away. He was able to walk us through what we needed to do to possibly save our dog who had eaten something that could have caused him great harm. He was a godsend and just what we needed that night. We also have a puppy who Dr. Brian was able to diagnosis despite never having seen the illness except in textbooks. He has worked with us to get the puppy to a comfortable situation and to treat him on an ongoing basis. Our calls for help have been answered right away and the service has been amazing! On January 3rd because of the Covid pandemic, understandably we couldn't go into the examining room with my cat when the veterinarian was doing her annual check-up. The veterinarian explained everything as she did the check-up on my cat and indicated she is in excellent health. Some information was conflicting. My cat is NOT an outdoor cat and I was told she has a parasite. Thorough check-up to ensure my cat is healthy. On January 8th we were to consult with the veterinarian in a Google Meet appointment. Never happened. Disappointing. TCAH used to make us feel welcome - not so much any more.

I made an appointment for my dog to have her nails done - I had to wait 2 weeks for this appointment. Finally the day comes to get my dog’s nails trimmed to find out that my appointment was not booked with a vet but with a “staff”. My dog is fear aggressive & does best with repetition of the same person - they know this as I have been a client for years. I was 5 minutes late to the appointment, however I called to tell them & they responded “no problem, see you soon”. When I arrive, my dog is shaking which is normal for her - I tell the staff who welcomes us at the door that my dog is fear aggressive (she has a muzzle on already prior to our arrival), and she proceeds to kneel down, reach out to my dog & stare at my dog. Anyone who knows anything about fear aggression would know this is exactly what NOT to do. My dog starts snarling & I inform the staff that she is intimidating my dog & to not make eye contact. I ask if the vet can come out so that the vet & I can do my dog’s nails together outside, due to covid, as my dog is now upset. The staff tells me that I have now missed my appointment & refuses service. Thanks for the great confidence boost for my dog ???? & wasting my time.

My family has been taking our fur family members to Town & Country Animal Hospital for over 20 years!!! Making appointments by the phone is so easy and they have a great system! From the minute we walk into the office we have been happily greeted by all of the front end staff. Our pets typically see Dr. Brian! He is a big part of our pets lives! And if he is not in Dr. Brendon and Dr. Peter have given excellent help and attention aswell! In the past Dr. Brian has SAVED our prescious shi-poo Molly who in 2010 had developed a huge tumor on her spleen! Dr. Brian used his expertise to remove Molly’s tumor and it was a miracle!! and Molly is still a strong trooper after 16yrs of care thanks to Town & Country Animal Hospital! Also, this spring our cat Bert was also looked after at this wonderful clinic! It was stressed to us the importance of monitoring Bert and following up closely with blood work as Bert was suspiciously throwing up and not eating or drinking. Turns out lab work proved he had pancreatitis and efforts were made to keep a close eye with repeat blood work and treatment until Bert recovered as he was very dehydrated! Bert is now a happy camper, and back to his old ways and enjoying the summer with his twin brother Ernie! Above all Town & Country does a Great!! job following our pets over the years specifically with their vaccine schedules and seasonal needs such as tick prevention, overall health and teeth/eye care! They make caring for our fur family a joy! Much thanks to everyone at Town & Country! We all love the care you provide and are so greetful for everything you have done for us over the many years!

Our experience was a chance of a lifetime! I am late writing this entry and apologize that it wasn't earlier. Our emergency happened on Labour Day weekend of 2013. Our Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute "Scooter" had a fun time at the family bbq, yet on the drive home, he was in a lot of pain and couldn't get comfortable. His stomach was big and bloated. Right away we knew it was bad...TWISTED STOMACH!! We phoned Town and Country's emergency pager and luckily Dr. Brendan answered. We got Scooter to him just in time! Dr. Brendon performed a stomach untwisting surgery and he said we were just in time as Scooter's stomach wasn't in any more distress. They worked overnight (on a long weekend) and provided Scooter with amazing care. Their bedside manner and communication was informative and compassionate. Scooter made a full recovery and bounced back as if nothing happened. It was truly a terrifying life and death situation and we were relieved that the Town and Country team were there to help us keep our family member. Luckily, we had pet insurance as well to help ease the financial stress of it all. We switched to Town and Country recently from a veterinarian in Unionville and we have been happy ever since! Thank you to the whole team, from the doctors to the assistants and those on the front desk....you all are appreciated! Thank you!

My M.J. Wrangler Boxer puppy was a bitlateral cryptochid ( both the boys did not 'drop' in for the party) and was facing a traditional major invasive internal surgical procedure to neuter him. Facing recovery from a large incision plus a 3-4 week 'quiet time' is simply not an option for most active 9 month old pups, perhaps far less of an option for a fun-loving bouncing Boxer. Following online research I opted to speak with Dr. Brendon about whether his laproscopic procedure was a viable option, it was! Following surgery our Wrangler bounced back and was running just 4 days after his surgery. It's now approx 3 weeks after and you can hardly see the two small incisions. I used to take my yorkie to a petsmart veterinary but realized they were over charging me for things that I didn’t request. Luckily I was able to find Town and Country and I’ve been taking my dogs here for the past 15+ years. They are friendly, knowledgeable and very caring. I recently got a Poodle and I love that Dr.Melissa even did a follow up through email couple of days after just to make sure my puppy was ok. Stay away!! They want to take your money, that is it. I took my cat in, because he had been vomiting for 3 days non stop, the vet saw him, and said that he needed to take an X ray, he took the cat upstairs and brought him back with a single picture X ray ... he couldn't diagnose him, so he said that he will call me the next day after reviewing the X ray with another doctor. Then, of course we went to pay for the service and guess what? they charged us almost 500 bucks for the visit!!!! really? What a ripoff! And of course they didn't call me the next day! They didn't care about my cat, they only cared about my money, and after they got it, they forgot about it. I will never go back!!

I was at the Town and Country vet clinic in November 2020 when my cat Bailey had a bad constipation issue that could not be resolved at the current clinic downtown Toronto where she was registered at that time. After a series of bad decision from this vet, I decided to take Bailey to see Dr. Melissa Pinto at town and country vet clinic and I couldn’t be happier. From the moment that I called, the reception staff treated me well and were able to squeeze in an appointment for Bailey on the same day, even though Dr. Melissa’s agenda was fully booked. Although I was nervous about Bailey’s health, they made me feel comfortable and were extremely friendly over the phone. The appointment with Dr. Melissa was terrific! I know her from a different vet place and she is an angel on earth. She took care of Bailey with so much care and compassion as she always does. In no time, Bailey was back at being her bubbly self again and we did not have any other issues so far. I live in downtown Toronto (harbour front area) and I would not hesitate to drive 40 min to see Dr. Melissa anytime Bailey needs vet care. I know I can rely on their clinic services and dr. Melissa’s competency with my eyes closed! I would definitely recommend them at anytime! Thank you again for all your help with Bailey!

The doctors have always gone above and beyond to make sure that out pets were well cared for, even hand delivering meds to us when our dog required them. Pathetic service. I could have lost my dog due to incompetency. I took my dog in on an emergency, excessive vomiting and blood, he was given 3 Xrays a shot for something, antibiotics, cough medicine and said they could find nothing wrong $540 dollars and sent on our way he was no better. He continued vomiting for 3 hours after I got home and then the coughed up a brunch from a tree that was 11 inches and 1/2 an inch in diameter. I could not believe my eyes. I sent an email with the picture and when I got no response I phoned and he was not available and I was tole he would call me back. I said I wanted an explanation and or a refund. Having not received a call back for a second day I wonder why? I have to post this so as to save some poor pet the poor assistance my dog received and some owner hundreds of wasted dollars. I would be taking it to the papers if my dog had died. Pitiful.

My dog needed an operation and with going to various places for answers no one cared to help without a ridiculous cost associated to the treatment he needed. I do NOT recommend this practice at all. Firstly, they run their operation like a business; they are far more interested in upselling you additional productions and services than they are in providing quality pet care. After rude staff, misdiagnoses of ear mites in my puppy, the final straw was when I went to get my puppy neutered. The surgery left a LARGE scar and a lot of bruising and damage on her stomach. I expressed my concern to the staff member when she called me for a follow up visit. Her response was that I should have paid for the upgrades. Neutering is a simple procedure for which any vet should be competent. It is because of incompetency that my yorkshire terrier now has a THREE inch scar on her stomach and swelling that wont subside.

We have been going to Town & Country for over 10 years. The care our dogs and cats have received has been absolutely terrific. We have never felt any pressure to do any tests or treatments; in fact, we have been told that, based on symptoms, we should wait a few days to see if a particular test/x-ray was really necessary... and it wasn't! It is a 45 minute drive from our home and, even though there are at least 6 vet clinics within a 5 km radius, we prefer to go to T & C. We know that our pets are in good hands with Brian, Peter and the entire support staff.

A friend mentioned that she had switched to Town and Country and I thought I'd give it a try.Fifteen years later I am happier than ever with the care my large household is receiving.The doctors' diagnostic skills are superb. They are extremely generous with their time spent with both me and each of my animals.They consult me about treatments, diagnoses and costs before proceeding.There is a 24 hour / 7 days a week service from this clinic so that emergency clinics are a thing of the past for me. There is a wonderful "take home" policy for the very ill, whereby the attending doctor will house the animal in his own home overnight or for the weekend.No animal is ever left unattended. The entire staff is extremely welcoming and my visits to the clinic are always positive and very often fun! It does not get better than this!

We had our 13 month old Bouvier Boo laparoscopically spayed at Town & Country. Dr Laing and the staff did a tremendous job treating us and Boo with great respect and care. Dr Laing explained the procedure in full detail and said there would be minimal recovery time. He was 100% correct. We took our dog in for his wellness check and tests yesterday and we were immediately greeted at the door and our dog was taken in for his appointment right away. No waiting time at all. And when his visit was completed, we were given the results of his visit on the phone while our pet was still with his veterinarian. Also, his test results were emailed to us the next day. I live one hour from Town & Country Animal Hospital, and brought my 8yr old Aussie (mini) named Kyra in to see Dr. Brennan and Dr. Mellissa after a trip to the emergency animal hospital the night before had revealed she had a severe mass growing on her spleen that was internally bleeding. Friends of ours, mentioned that their dog had surgery at TCAH with excellent care provided, remarkable results and sensational staff. With pure compassion, Dr. Brennan was able to organize Kyra's spleen removal surgery the very next morning, with his staff generously electing to work added hours to help save our beloved family member's life. We called TCAH after the other local vet was't able to take our doggy for a few days because we felt that our situation needed immediate attention. TCAH was able to take us the same day. I'm so glad that we found this vet! They are now our regular vet. I'm able to get appointments same day and their hours are convenient. Dr. Cassandra is lovely and gentle and even took the time to look at a video of our doggy's cough that we filmed after our appointment. They did a great job with Ruby's teeth, her breath has never been better. Their prices are a bit higher than some other vets, but they don't recommend unnecessary tests.

This place is a cash grab. Services are 30% more expensive than other vets and 80% less efficient. I brought my dog and cat here and they were not able to diagnose the issues. I ended up going to my regular downtown clinic 55kms away just in time to save my pets with the correct diagnosis. Stay away guys. Their 4-5 star reviews are mostly bogus. On Yelp they are 3 stars (Google accounts are easier to fake whereas on Yelp it's hardier to create fake accounts). Like some of the locals in Stouffville they are racist and pretend to be nice to minorities. Stay away! They charge for double visits when they promise not to for the next time you show up.

My dog eventually died and after an autopsy was performed (by another vet clinic) it was determined that she had a tumour in her throat. A Big Thank you to Dr.Brian, Dr.Brendan and their staff at Town and Country Animal hospital, Stouffville. Today our pet Boxer Leo is alive because of the fantastic treatment and care he got from them. He had to go through an emergency surgery on a Sunday to get a large tumour out of his intestine that had burst. If not for the correct diagnosis and prompt care that he got, Leo would not have been with us today. Phone calls always answered, questions always answered patiently, Prompt follow ups, medication and care explained thoroughly, Staff always greeting us with a big friendly smile. What else could we ask for. You guys totally live up to the hospital tag line- You DID treat our pet like family. We have nothing but gratitude in our hearts for you all .....thanks again :)

I would recommend this animal hospital to anyone. It was recommended to me by a trusted friend and she was right. They identified the problem and took steps to treat it right away. They prescribed medications and dispensed them right there ... no need to go to a pharmacy. I can see an improvement already and hope that we can finally solve his on-going ear infection to give him peace from the itching and us peace from the scratching!!

Brain his son Brent ,,Peter and staff have always treated myself and my family with respect and compassion especially when I have had to put 2 of my dogs down. I have been bringing both of my cats to Town and Country Hospital for several years and always feel comfortable knowing they are in good hands. I had adopted one of my cats and found out she had stomatitis, which was very painful for her and meant she needed to have teeth removed, but surgery went smoothly and likely saved her life! My older cat also had very painful absorbative lesions which complicated his kidney disease and they gave me thorough advice and he is doing amazingly better now. I cannot say enough good things about this place, their prices are fair, their work is thorough and I recommend Dr. Brendon Laing for any of my cats needs. I had been using a vet in Toronto for years previously and the quality of care and prices here at Town and Country are so much better!!
