These people here very compassionate. I have been very happy the level of care that I have been receiving here for my 7 pets. I had gone to a very cheap veterinary office before and I have been ripped off at super expensive ones as well; at Smith, I have been told prices in advance and those rates have been honoured, so I was able to save for none emergency procedures (example: my cat’s dental operation) for five months and then the quote from them was honoured by the Smith Veterinary Clinic. I have had 3 elderly dogs put down here, they were very professional. I have heard of horror stories out there when it comes to a sick dog. People were given unnecessary procedures, here though; I have seen time and time again that the priority have been given science and the pet’s quality of life. After bouncing around a few animal clinics, I am going to stay with Smith Veterinary Hospital.

This is the worst clinic. All they are interested in is billing and will do as many tests as possible, just so they can charge. I took my dog to the clinic for his entire life, as I thought that it was best for him to have consistency. I thought it was the best decision for my dog but I was wrong. I wish I had changed clinics much sooner. In the end, they didn’t even have the decency to express condolences on his loss. And I am so grateful that he spent his last visit for his final rest at a much more caring and considerate veterinary clinic. Do yourself a favour, and stay away from that horrible place.

Every single person at Smith's Veterinary Clinic does what they do out of love and dedication. Some people think they're pricey but from my experience they're totally reasonable. Depends on what's important to you, I guess. Regardless, and while I'm frugal, for the stuff I've had to pay for, Smith's rates are comparable to any real, good, high quality pet care.

Came here twice for our kitten. First visit was smooth, however, we had to get a booster shot for our kitten two weeks later. When booking our appointment, the technician informed us that we would only be charged for the vaccine with no additional charge. But after our 5 minute appointment they up charged us by three times the price and informed us there was nothing that could be done after the fact. Would advise to have any cost break downs in writing before hand as there were no complications in the process, just hidden fees by the clinic.

Horrible and unprofessional customer service from this clinic, with zero regard for animals or their customers. The secretary cancelled my appointment when I called to say that I may be 1-2 minutes late, I was hung up on with the rest of my calls declined. This is extremely emotionally abusive when we are dealing with sick animals. Recommend going elsewhere as it seems as though they only care about their time and money.

Dr. Sean Herzog- my family and I cannot express our gratitude to you for all that you have done for our baby, our puppy Mickey. Dr. Sean worked hard to save our Mickey- aside from medical treatmet, he called regularly to ask how Mickey was feeling. Yesterday, our Mickey became too ill and we had to make the hardest decision of our lives. We are devastated by the loss of our puppy but Dr. Sean Herzog is one of the most compassionate doctors we have ever met. He returned to the clinic upon news of our sick Mickey (he was about to leave for the day), and patiently walked us through everything. It was obvious that our pain was his pain. Thank you for everything.

Incompetent staff - stay away! Today was the scheduled surgery for one of my dogs. Both are small dogs and from the same breed and they look very similar in appearance, except one is 25% heavier than the other, which can have a substantial impact on the amount of anesthetics to use as well as impact other decision in the operating block. When I arrived I was told everything was ready for... Kalina (the smaller dog) which is much smaller than Meeka... had I delegated the drop off to someone else from the family, or had the receptionist not said the name of the dog the clinic thought they were about to operate on, this mistake could have remained unchecked, further leading to complications, which could have led to a bad ending (poor choice of anesthetics amount can lead to death). I asked to speak to the doctor which had not yet started surgery on any dog that day. A mistake had been made and I wanted to make sure everyone involved in Meska’s operation would be made aware this was Meeka indeed and not Kalina... the staff felt the operating doctor was too important to be bothered with such questions... I asked 3 times to 2 different staff members and was forced to decide : leave your dog today for surgery and then speak later (after the surgery) to the doctor or leave... the next window for surgery is the following week. I won’t be returning to this den of incompetence again.

I seriously can't put into words how much attention to detail and how caring all the staff is towards us and our pet. You can seriously tell they love what they do and they go the extra mile to make sure your furry family member is taken care of. They make sure they follow up with you on different aspects of your pets well being, they help you find the best way to take care of your pet, and I truly believe they care 100% on what they do. Today was my first time trying out this vet, so it might be too early to put down an accurate review. However, my first time experience was very good, the staff are extremely friendly. The biggest thing i loved about this vet is that they are not pushy with things !! like they wont tell you dont do this and dont do that and do exactly what they say, which was my biggest problem with my last vet. Overall costumer service was good and they treated my German shepherd "Hunter" extremely well. Thank you for being professional. I will be using these guys from now on.

After a traumatic experience at another vet (the vet left exposed nerves in my cat's gums after dental surgery), this vet was recommended to me, for which I am extremely grateful. Dr. Cox repaired the damage of the other vet at a more than reasonable cost. Since then I have brought my other cats in for dental and medical procedures and have been extremely pleased with the results. .From Monique at the front desk, to Dr. Cox and Dr. Herzog, these folks are a special kind of awesome.

Can’t speak for dog owners but honestly they probably have little experience with cats. On July 3rd I took my cat in for a visit as she was visiting the litter box quite often with occasional blood stains. The talk with the doctor went smoothly, however, at the end the doctor couldn’t receive any urine test from my cat and was recommended to take UTI pills for my cat. At the end, the doctor mentioned how my cat was rather “aggressive” when she has never shown any aggression towards any other vets/people before and was charged extra for sedative pills to take before visit. As it was during the pandemic we cannot tell if the “aggressive” behavior is real as we do not have the chance to see how the vet and staff operates. The evaluation alone costs $102 (pre-tax) with nothing included but talking to the doctor. The doctor recommended for us to take the cat back for another urine test, however, we are still required to pay another evaluation cost along with the urine test/collect cost when they couldn’t get the urine sample in the first place. Don’t really know how they got so many “5 stars reviews” but considering how much more they charge than other vets the receptionist service/ vet service is not worth the money you pay. Overall, not a happy experience and I 10/10 would not take my cat again.

Absolutely adore this place! My usual vet was too busy to take my in dog Tofu last minute and this place did not hesitate to accommodate for us. I am more than grateful for the staff and doctors who work here. You can really tell that they are passionate about what they do, by far one of the best veterinary hospitals I have been to. The doctor was very professional and took the time to explain everything that was wrong with my dog and she ensured that I was fully aware of every procedure that she performed on my dog. I was upset due to my dogs condition but the doctor tried to comfort me, which I really appreciated. On top of that she is not pushy when it comes to giving solutions and tries to offer multiple options to best accommodate me and my pets needs. They are helpful with answering all my questions whenever I give them a call. They also provided me with additional after hour numbers and emergency numbers. I would say that the price is on the more expensive side, but the doctor was upfront about all the costs and I believe its worth every penny you pay. After my visit I recieved 2 follow up calls to ensure that my dog was doing well, which I really appreciated. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a professional and compassionate place to take your pet. Would come back again!

They CURED my dog. My puppy, Moose, suffered from vomiting and painful watery and bloody stool from 10 weeks of age to 5 months old. We went to various vets to try to help him but after several expensive tests and bills NO ONE could figure out the issue. We discovered SMITH'S when he was 5 months old and I am beyond glad we did. DR. TARYN WAUGH was INCREDIBLE. She figured out what was wrong with my little guy in no time and made the treatment so easy and reasonably priced. She is such an amazing vet! She takes all the time you need time to go through your questions, is so intelligent and clear with her answers, is compassionate about every animal and checks up on you over the phone. It was so easy for me and Moose to build a genuine relationship with her and we BOTH love her! I am FOREVER GRATEFUL that we came across Smith's Veterinary hospital and Dr. Taryn Waugh. She SAVED my dog from a lifetime of pain and now he can live a long amazing life with me! There is no way I can say thank you enough to her! I can't say enough amazing things about my experience here! The entire staff were so understanding, patient, compassionate, and truly invested in mine and my partners needs, and especially our dogs health. Unfortunately, it was my fur baby's time to go to doggy heaven while visiting Dr. Pinto, but the care Dr. Pinto provided myself, my partner, and our dog was beyond anything I could have imagined. She was clear, broke down every bit of information, step by step the tests that would be beneficial, and let us digest the information at our own speed. Everything she thought would be best was suggested and explained why. She NEVER made us feel like we have to do something or that it was about money to her( which I find at many Veterinary Clinics). Her and the staff informed us of why this suggestion may be best and what they will be doing while our dog is in their care. She was so sincere, and passionate about her job, and the work she does. She truly sympathized with our heartache, the hours of crying, and waiting anxiously. She even cried with us and comforted us through the hard time of letting him go. Every staff member made the experience exceptional. From Natalie the Technician, to Monique at the front desk. Staying hours after their normal working hours to make sure our dog had everything he needed, that they did everything they could have done, and we had enough time with him. I couldn't imagine having any other clinic, or vet treat him, help him, and be there to send him off for his final goodbye. I will 100% in the future continue to bring any other pets I add to my home here for all of their needs.

Just visited today for my puppy's eye issue. Staff were super friendly and professional, and timely! This was super important for me because I am working from home and was using an hour in between meetings to rush her in for an exam. The vet, Dr. Pawliwec (paw-luh-weck, I believe is how it's pronounced), was so gentle with Mia. Mia absolutely adored her. Price was a tiny bit more expensive than what I was anticipating, but well worth the quality service. I have another appointment scheduled next week for my puppy, to make sure her eye is OK. I am always super wary of new hospitals, but I have been meaning to find one closer to home that I like... This hospital is definitely "it"!

I came to Smith Vet Hospital after having a less than satisfactory visit at another vet. Right from when I walked in the door everyone was so welcoming and professional. The client care representatives loved my little dog and gave her lots of treats (with permission) and love. The exam was thorough and the Dr explained everything well. She was even able to save me a bit of money by doubling up a blood test. I feel very safe with my dog in Smith Vet Hospitals hands.

I am very thankful we found this clinic. Our cat was having difficulty sitting down and we noticed some bleeding next to her bum. Our regular vet was closed due to COVID, meaning I had to now search for another vet hospital which is usually a process I dislike putting our cats through but this time was different and I was very happy with the result. Everyone here genuinely cares and they are all very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They treated my Princess Fiona with so much care and love and gave her all the attention she deserves and needs. The doctor took her time asking questions at the beginning and she was clear and thorough when explaining the issue to me. After her examination Princess was returned to me and she did not look nervous or scared /worried. Next morning, Princess was already feeling much better and back to being her silly self. Dr. Herzog is a knowledgeable and compassionate vetrinarian. The staff here are wonderful. I would highly recommend this clinic. My dog has had laser therapy at the clinic and had phenomenal results. My family and I are extremely grateful for the Smith Veterinary Hospital, the wonderful staff, and especially Dr. Pinto and Erin! My cat was sick, he was lethargic and clearly in distress. Our regular vet clinic was closed for the long weekend and we desperately needed to see another vet. We found the Smith vet clinic based on google search and reviews. They were able to accommodate us quickly for an appointment within a few hours on a Saturday long weekend. When we arrived we were greeted by smiling and friendly faces and promptly taken to the exam room. Dr. Pinto was exceptional! She was friendly, patient and took her time to examine my cat carefully. She explained everything to us and made us feel at ease. Our Gucci is usually very frightful and timid but he was certainly more comfortable in Dr. Pinto's hands. After getting appropriate workup and treatment, she advised us on outpatient management that was very reasonable and provided with re-assurance and clear instructions on what to do when to follow up. We have had prior bad experiences with vets, feeling that we were recommend unnecessary treatments that were over priced. Dr. Pinto chose the most economical and least invasive choices. We will continue going to this clinic and without a doubt recommend this clinic to any animal who needs an honest, trustworthy, compassionate care. We can't thank you enough!

Excellent. I came back for a second opinion, as we generally don't use this vet as our primary care any more because we moved away. As said went back for a second opinion, and they were fantastic. My elderly dog was having a troubling GI issue I had been battling with unsuccessfully, and the vet prescribed pills that not only changed the game for my dog, but me as well. No more 5~6 nightly trips outside every night. An absolute godsend!!! highly recommend this vet!!!

Staff are friendly and nice, but service is a bit questionable. I can't speak for dog-owners, but I took my cat in for a grooming at 11am with an appointment and didn't hear anything until 3pm. When I finally called to check in, they just started to work on him (coincidentally) and I brought him back 30 minutes later. That same evening, he started to scratch around his ears constantly to the point where he broke skin and started causing small cuts (even with nails trimmed). I contacted them immediately and they just said keep an eye on him and bring him in if it continues. Ended up bringing him back in 2 days latee and they said it was yeast infection. If a cat had no problems for 2 years and suddenly developed a symptoms right after grooming, it's pretty clear what the cause might be... but I'm on the hook for tests, medication and follow up. Ultimately, I had to pay a little over $400 and hours of waiting to have my cat suffer an ear infecrion.

Great vet have been going to this clinic for 4 yrs very happy with treatment our 3 fur babies receive. Staff is friendly amd accommodating.

I would highly recommend this clinic. My lovely friend coco got super sick and we chose this vet clinic to get diagnosis. Dr Cox was very nice and smart. She listened our concerns and diagnosed her correctly in a short time. She gave me and my husband update very clear and we were able to start right treatment. I am so thankful for receptionist as well. When I called her on Wednesday afternoon, she listened and booked Coco right away. Thank you so much. You guys gave Coco more time to be with us. Coco unfortunately passed away but we are very thankful for everything you guys have done to her.

After Visiting many other vets in Toronto and looking back at this place. The staff and Vets are great and amazing people but to be honest this place overcharges everything. I got my dog neutered here and it costed us over $1500+ With him being a tiny little dog. I can recommend at least 3 better vets who are equally as caring but don't up charge everything. This place just wants your money.

The clinic provided care for my Jack Russell Terrier for 16 years from the time she was 7.5 weeks old to just over 16 years old at the end of my pet's life. The care from beginning to end was excellent. The whole team is very professional and I only have outstanding feedback to provide.

Have been going to Smith for years, wonderful caring staff and the Vets are terrific. You are treated with kindness, respect and always there to help . Would not take my animals anywhere else.
