Our farm cat Thunder hot into a fight with another animal and was not walking on his paw. My vet was closed and queen street vet is crazy expensive!!! I called Mason Dixon right when they opened and they were super nice and got me in right away!! Way cheaper and nicer than the other vet emergency hospitals. They took amazing care of Thunder???? added bonus... They had me sit in my own room with a sweet flat screen tv and I was able to pull up netflix and catch up on the Crown. Will only use Mason Dixon!! Thanks ladies you were great!!
My little girl passed away here. They tried everything they could and it was just her time to go. The entire staff was friendly and comforting. I stayed with my little girl for as long as I wanted. They give you a buzzer to push when your ready and they don't rush you. I personally knew I didn't want to pay for anything or talk to anyone after it was over. Not sure if the receptionist was going to asked but I said walking in could I take care of everything now so I can just leave when everything is over. The receptionist was really nice and got everything I needed taken care of before my kitty passed. We took care of the bill, cremation, etc. After my kitty passed the receptionist said I'm sorry for your loss but I couldn't really talk and just made a head nod. Thank you guys for being so caring. I know how hard it must also be for your staff to do this type of work so thank you for what you do for pet owners. You do it with respect and kindness :). Thank you so much!
If you love your fur baby, do not bring them here. Not once, but twice did I have a bad experience here. First was with my own dog who was experiencing pain, straining to urinate, and loose bowels. We waited hours and hours to be seen. Then waited several more hours after he was taken back. And it wasnt until they were ready to discharge him, did I finally speak with the vet. And come to find out, they never did any urine samples on him. Despite having to tell multiple people the issues my dog was having. So then we had to wait 2 more hours to get the results, which I had to collect his urine myself because I guess the vet tech couldn't do it herself. And shocker, he had a urinary infection. The next experience, which by far was the most foul and unacceptable. I own a pet sitting business and while one of my clients was away on vacation, their cat suddenly was unable to urinate. Now from my nearly 10 years experience, I know this can be a seriously life or death situation. I take the cat in and I am immediately met with that they couldn't see him unless it was a euthanasia or life or death situation even before I was able to tell them what was going on. And after I told the front desk, they said I should call his regular vet the NEXT DAY. I left and immediately called the emergency vets on Queen street. They were also at capacity but when I said I have a feline who cant urinate, without further question they told me to bring him in immediately. Turns out he had a blockage, and if I had listened to what Mason Dixon said, my clients would have more than likely lost their fur baby. Disgusting business practice.
My mother had an emergency with her dog. (A very friendly female bully) they were walking her when she was viciously attacked by a stray pitbull. She was riddled with bite marks, the most severe around her neck and chest. My mother had problems finding a vet that would see her. Finally and thankfully we found Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital. They were very friendly and professional. My mother was very pleased with how she was treated there and excited to find a reliable, professional, friendly Animal Hospital. Thank you so much! You guys are awesome!
Can’t say enough great things about the entire staff. They are gentle, caring, and deeply invested in their patients. We had to say goodbye to our sweet Griffin unexpectedly just over 10 days ago, and it felt like they were saying goodbye with us. Much love to entire Mason Dixon Animal ER team!
We had to take our American Staffordshire Terrior (Miah) in due to an ear infection. I know, it seems silly but it got to a point that I couldn't wait one more week to see my regular vet. When I called in they were very kind and compassionate as well as in person. We did have quite the wait but it would be the same at a human ER. The facility was very clean and air conditioned too. Since it wasn't life threatening they had to prioritize others first, which is absolutely fine. I spent about 3 or 4 hours there but once they treated my fur baby I could tell she was more comfortable and in less pain. They sent us home with medicine and we kept our appointment with the regular vet too. My dog and I both got much needed relief from our trip in.
The staff was very good and Dr Parr was great, sympathetic and knowledgeable about our cat’s heart disease. We really appreciate them!!
First time I took my cat here we waited for over 8 hours in a room. The only time they checked in was with minimal information, but when it's time to pay, of course they're not waiting for that. I understand they were busy with other critical cases, but an occasional check in would have went a long way. The next day I had to have my cat stay overnight which was necessary, but another 5 hour wait. Go to pick up my cat and waited an additional 2 hours which I don't understand because they said on the phone that he was ready to go home. You would think they'd tell you there might be a wait over the phone, but nope. It's been a week since the initial visit, and no follow up call to see how my cat is doing. I will never ever come back to this place again.
We had a fantastic experience! Everyone was wearing PPE and the whole office was spotless. We were greeted right away. Everyone was very nice! They took care of our dog right away. They explained everything, helped our dog and made sure we knew what to do for follow up care. Awesome place
Highly recommended, very professional
While it's never a fun time when a trip to the ER vet is necessary, the staff at Mason Dixon make it as pleasant as possible. My cat has (unfortunately) been a regular visitor lately, and they have been so wonderful, understanding, and patient with my Jack, he hasn't even needed sedation for his bandage changes. They also haven't judged or shamed me for having a (self-declared) barn cat, which is an unfortunate common occurrence, and for that I am TRULY grateful! Thank you, staff at Mason Dixon!!
Our dog was severely injured after jumping onto a pitchfork that was on the ground. We took her to this vet and they did surgery. We followed their directions during the recovery period and she is completely healed now. This type of thing is always expensive but I did not feel that we were being extorted or pushed into unnecessary treatments like you might encounter at other emergency vets. They did the right amount of intervention- no more no less.
Just as wonderful as the York ER...maybe better, so glad to have them locally!
Staff at Mason Dixon are amazingly professional, knowledgeable, caring, and efficient. Each time we brought our little guy in, we were not only treated with respect, but every step of the process was carefully and clearly explained. Wonderful team!
I called regarding my ferret who was having an emergency (not life-threatening, but definitely needed to be seen) and I was told “We will only see him if he needs to be euthanized.”…WHO SAYS THAT?!??!? I worked in a veterinary hospital for a short period of time and I would have NEVER said that to anyone. I told the hospital that DID see him and they were appalled by that remark. If I could give 0 stars I would…Mason Dixon Animal Hospital— SHAME ON YOU AND DO BETTER.
The staff was amazing, and very professional! Our animal was for sure in great hands! Will be going back if ever we need a 24 hour animal hospital!!
This place is absolutely wonderful when it comes to making such a difficult decision. We called our vet and other animal hospitals and this place was recommended. The front desk, nurses and doctors were all so understanding and compassionate from the very start of the process. Can't recommend them highly enough if you need help in determining whether to let your pet cross over that rainbow bridge.
Mason Dixon has the best staff! Everyone is so friendly and compassionate. Dr. Longbottom knows her stuff and the facility is beautiful. Their prices are super reasonable and they do not push unnecessary tests/treatments on you to make an extra buck. I would highly recommend!
It was near midnight when my kids 16 year old daughters cat began having breathing difficulty. He had been sick for a while but rapidly went downhill. Dr Longbottom was incredible. Thoroughly explaining to my daughter (and myself) what was going on and what our options were. Unfortunately we knew based on his age and health that the best thing was to say goodbye. They were gracious, caring and sympathetic as my daughter said goodbye to her furry companion. Not a happy night, but thankful to be the caring and wise hands of Dr. Longbottom.
Very nice people and good service
Had to take our dog here for C-section. Staff was super friendly even though our dog was being very difficult for them
What I thought was going to be a huge issue and a huge problem....cost me 12 bucks. Not just about the $$, these people are incredibly caring and respectful. Well done.
My sweet dog was actively seizing and Mason Dixon was the only pet ER able to see her immediately in the middle of the night. Dr. Longbottom, Libby, the front desk staff, and every other technician I came in contact with were so kind, sympathetic, and caring towards my situation. I know the veterinary field is tough these days and short staffed like everywhere else - thank you much for going above and beyond and taking good care of my pet! Ozzie is on the mend and so far no more seizures!
After sitting in a room for 6 hours without hearing anything from a tech or doctor I left. I brought my dog Maxx there, a 13 yr old Schnoodle, because he was in serious pain, to the point where he could not walk, I had to carry him. His vitals were check when we got there and he was stable, but the poor dog couldn’t even stand up. While in the room I wrapped him in my sweatshirt to keep him warm and he slept on the table on and off for 5 hours. He moaned in pain almost the entire time. The last hour there he tried to roll up onto his stomach and get off the table… I had to help him. He laid on the floor the last hour until he need to go to the bathroom. I walked him outside where he seemed to be moving a little better. I went back in and told the receptionist that 6 hours was ridiculous and at this point I’ll just have my regular vet see him first thing Monday. I was given the whole emergency and triage speech which I overheard the entire time I was waiting. Here’s my issues ; not once were we checked on the entire time in the room. Even though Maxx’s vitals were stable he was in very serious pain and had no strength or control of his movement. I understand the importance of seeing the more critical patients first but nothing was established with what was causing Maxx’s pain. If 2 doctors couldn’t keep up with the patient load a 3rd doctor should have been called in until they got caught up …. 6 hours is just way to long , and who knows how much longer I would have been there until Maxx was seen by the doctor. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the receptionist and the tech who took Maxx’s vitals were very nice and cared.
They were super helpful and compassionate when my cat swallowed a sewing needle. Everyone was kind and made sure to answer all my questions.
They treat me with disrespect. They own care about people who have dogs or cats. I had to wait outside. I was there from 8 pm to 11pm. I had to call twice and see what was going on this my bird. When I told them that I wasn't happy. They showed no remorse about how I was feeling. They did nothing to comfort me.
This is the best "emergency" experience I've ever had. The staff took my dog within minutes of my arrival, performed a successful procedure within 10 minutes, the doctor talked to me within 5 minutes after that, and they had be checked out 5 minutes later. The price was super affordable, the facility was extremely clean, and the staff were wonderful.
So grateful for their help today. My puppy was sick this morning so I drove 35 minutes to get to this ER (which was suggested by a local vet). Staff was very kind and they triaged him quickly due to his specific condition. They let us wait in a quiet clean room and we were able to take him home soon after testing and evaluation were complete. Thank you all for your compassionate and efficient care!
Hospital is beautiful and very professional. Highly recommend.
This is one of the best vets/ER we hav been to. I called over the phone and said some of my dogs symptoms and they suggested I come in ASAP. They triaged her right away and she was diagnosed within an hour. They gave her treatment right away and provided the best care possible for her. They had lots of other pets there and were still very professional, compassionate and timely towards us and our dog. One of the vets, Heidi, was amazing at her job and could relate to us and provide support that most vets will not do. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with incurable cancer but they provided us with options to make her comfortable until her time comes. If it wasn't for them doing the proper tests we may have never known. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs ER visit or even just making sure that they're pet is okay. Thank you to all the staff who helped us!
Clean facility with nice amenities for waiting. Staff is friendly, professional, and accommodating.
From my initial telephone call to walking in the door, my experience was top notch and first class. They treated my sweet Yorkie with love, attention and professionalism during a thorough exam. Dr. Parr was excellent with her diagnosis, explanation, and treatment. I would highly recommend the MD Emergency Hospital to your furry babies in need. The new facility is beautiful, immaculate and welcoming. Thank you Dr. Parr and staff for taking such wonderful care of my baby girl.
Had to take my pup to an emergency vet for the first time and I am so glad we chose Mason Dixon! All of their staff is super friendly and professional! Highly recommended!
Absolutely amazing! Staff was awesome and so sweet. They saved our sweet dogs life on Christmas Day. Highly recommend. Can’t thank you enough!!!
I am so happy to have an emergency vet close to home. This is the second time I have used their services, the first was unfortunately to say goodbye to our sick boxer which was handled with compassion and care, this time was to have my boston terrier looked at cause her ear was bothering her..... with bad weather coming in I didn't want to take the chance of trying to get her to our regular vet at VCA (which is amazing also), it was a busy day but I was able to drop my dog off and run errands till she could be looked at.... everyone was friendly, informative and thorough in her care. I highly recommend this vet for weekends and emergencies!!!
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Took my bunny in from Harrisburg at midnight and they were helpful, accommodating, communicative, professional, and most of all *CARING*. Every time I called I was given thorough updates and they didn't make me feel annoying at all. They really pay attention to all details and make sure you have all the information you need. Grateful to have a team of people who truly want the best for your pet. 5 stars!! Best vet experience in my 5 years of bunny ownership. And it's HARD to find a good bunny doctor
I arrived at Mason Dixon ER last Sunday with a very sick kitty. I was anxious because This was my first visit and I had driven up from Maryland. From the minute we arrived the staff could not have been more helpful or compassionate. I had to leave kitty with the team and I felt extremely relieved that he was in good hands. During his stay they called me with updates, Treated him and saved his life! They were extremely thorough with discharge instructions and. I found the bill to fair and reasonable. I hope not to have to go to ER again - if I do- It is wonderful to have this resource available.
My dog ruger had 14 seizures in 24 hours. No local hospitals or at home care places would come see him. The one at home person who saod they would come contracted covid and had to cancel. Hearing our predicament the entire staff welcomed us. They were nothing but kind and professional. We appreciated their bedside mannor and condolances during such a trying time for our family.
We unfortunately had to make a visit on a Sunday morning with our senior dog who couldn’t hold on until Monday as he was at the end of his journey and suffering. The entire staff from the front desk to the techs to veterinarian were all so kind and understanding and helpful. The process of my boy’s final hours was the best it could be in that situation. I am thankful for everyone there and their kindness!
We were very happy with the service we received from Mason Dixon Animal Hospital. The facility was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and understanding. They were very gentle with our dog who is very anxious as is. The pricing was also not that far off from what a regular vet visit would have cost. I definitely recommend them!
Thank you for your compassion. We were facing a very tough decision and your staff and vet on duty couldn't have been any nicer to us. They do an amazing job explaining what was going to happen
I can not thank the staff enough for helping in our time of need. They took our sweet boy back right away and helped us though the difficult decision that we had to make.
Best experience I have EVER had at an emergency animal hospital. Every moment was professional and caring. They got my boy right in and treated him with the highest care. Everyone is so compassionate and helpful. The facility is beautiful and very clean. I drove a little further to reach them and am so glad I did. I will always bring my pets here from now on. The price was very reasonable. Thank you everyone who helped my boy King!
They took very good care of our baby girl and kept us in the know of everything that was going on. Akso very informative .
I woke up on a Sunday morning to an extremely sick cat. I was panicking because I knew that she had to see a vet ASAP! I called early in the morning and the receptionist was very pleasant and took my information. I was able to take my cat in right away. The vet and techs took the time to assess the situation and came back and went over their recommendations with me. We chose the course of action and then they proceeded to treat her. My cat is healing beautifully and I have them to thank. I highly recommend going here if you have a pet emergency.
The staff was kind and caring and the facility itself was excellent.
We were very disappointed in this practice. We were referred by our vet's office for a procedure our dog needed. We were told that they could do the procedure and were sent all pertinent records from our vet prior to our arrival. We were put in an exam room shortly after our arrival after answering questions to set up the chart record, all normal. We were told a tech would be in shortly. Then we waited, and waited and waited, ad nauseum. After 2 hours, the vet came in, performed an exam and we discussed what she said was necessary pre-procedure testing. She said that she would return with an estimate. We waited another 30 minutes at which time, we decided to leave. They gave us the speech about prioritizing patients, but as far as we could see there was one ahead of us when we arrived who subsequently left and another that came and left while we waited. It was very clear to us that they did not want to proceed with our dog. We left, only to have wasted the better part of a day because we traveled 75 miles, one way, all for nothing.
Brought my cat here because of a potential blockage after all the other hospitals told me they were too busy. He was seen very promptly and spent two nights here. The communication was excellent and everyone was very kind and understanding. My cat seemed very relaxed when we picked him up, which was nice to see since he's usually stressed at the vet. I will come here again with any other emergencies. This was by far one of my best emergency vet visit experiences.
Phenomenal care and pricing. Even though there was a wait, which they let me know over the phone before I drove there, they put us in a large private exam room with a TV. The veterinarian and all staff were SO friendly and knowledgeable. I left with a smaller bill than I expected and a happy, healthy pup. Highly recommend!
They were extremely caring and compassionate with us when our pet died unexpectedly after an emergency.
I can’t say enough good things about Mason Dixon animal hospital! I took my dog there today after she exhibited three episodes of vomiting within roughly an hour. I called her regular vet who couldn’t fit her in but said she should be seen. I went to Mason Dixon and even though they were technically closed to new clients and had procedures all day, they managed to fit her in. The vet saw her after her procedure and discussed her treatment plan with me in a timely manner. As someone who does human medicine, I really appreciated her approach and time. The staff made sure she got her anti nausea meds and sub Q fluids and sent us home with some meds as well for prolonged management. My girl was definitely feeling better when I picked her up and even played at home. I hope to never have to use the emergency vet but if I do, it will always be Mason Dixon Animal Hospital!!!
I took both my kittens here when they were ill. The staff was very professional and they were seen quickly. Unfortunately I had to humanely euthanize one kitten here and the staff was very considerate while I was grieving. They let me stay with him the whole time as long as I wanted and I was allowed a private cremation for both of my pets. I really appreciated how kind everyone was the whole process. I will definitely continue to come here in the future .
I can't thank you enough for being so amazing during a recent visit with my cat, Chance. He had a bad reaction to a routine vaccination and everyone was so wonderful and thorough, while only doing what was necessary to treat him safely. Thank you for being caring, compassionate, and trustworthy. Special thanks to Dr. Longbottom.
My Doberman tore a nail off her rear paw. I could not get into any vet. York emergency vet said it would be 6 hours. Came down here and got immediate service. Very nice, friendly and caring. Would definitely use them again over york emergency vet on queen st. They even let me inside in the exam room with my dog. They are definitely going to be my go to emergency vet.
Drove an hour to have my puppy seen for an oral virus. They took us back to a room then took the dog to a separate area to be monitored. We understand cases get seen by priority but this was a Wednesday evening and we were there when they opened. After sitting for over 2 1/2 hours we were told it would probably be another 4 hours to be seen. This is beyond ridiculous. My dog wasn’t even seen by a vet. I understand there are emergencies but unless 10 dogs came in by ambulance who all needed live saving surgery there is no excuse for such poor patient care. You should be allowed to have your dog in your care unless it is life threatening. No empathy at all for waiting and we took the dog home without even receiving any care. Beyond disappointed!
We decided to bring our dog here after having a terrible visit with our regular vet. Dr. Longbottom and the staff at Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital were fantastic. They actually listened and provided a detailed explanation of my dogs leg injury and treatment options. Where as my regular did not. Mason Dixon was also so much cheaper than our regular vet. Yes of course the visit was a little more expensive ($26 more). But the cost of the sedation and x-rays (which were optional and Dr. Longbottom didn't think we're necessary) and the blood work were significantly lower in price. I highly recommend Mason Dixon Animal Hospital.
Mason Dixon is a life saver! They got us in on a Saturday afternoon, and were the only ER that would take rabbits. Great communication and caring staff. Best ER around the area for your fur babies.
Staff were all amazing, from front desk reception to techs and vet. Despite it being very busy, everyone was so pleasant. They took excellent care of my pup. Hopefully I won't need their services again, but they are now my go to emergency vet.
I had to bring my sweet old yellow Lab to Mason Dixon Emergency Veterinary Hospital for a large ear laceration, from the moment I called prior to arriving , to getting to the facility and situated in a exam room , the staff was some of the best that I’ve ever encountered, they were busy that evening , due to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in York being at max capacity, so the overflow was being sent to Mason Dixon . The staff was so courteous, professional, and very kind , I was very concerned when I had to leave Cooper with them to be treated , and go home till I could come back to pick him up , he is elderly and diabetic and mostly blind and was scared , the staff did a excellent job with him and Dr Parr took such care suturing him up , when we picked him up the time the staff took to explain the instructions to us was great , they made sure we understood everything , and the process used for payment was smooth and easy ... Thank You Dr Parr and your great staff for taking great care of my old boy , kudos to you and the staff for the excellent care my dog and I received... This is a great facility.... Wonderful care!! Just had my dog at Mason Dixon Animal Hospital for emergency care. Very professional and they did excellent work.
We really can’t say enough about this place! We knew we were in a bad situation with our dog and had to make the tough decision to have her put down. They took great care of her and made sure she was comfortable. They we’re so kind and caring and made sure we were with her the entire time. They handled everything for us! I would highly recommend them for any urgent matter with your furry friends!! ❤️
We had to take our golden there yesterday They took us right in. Treated us very nice. We thought the price was reasonable
The doctors and staff are very compassionate and kind. They are very knowledgeable and capable. They saved my little girl's life. They diagnosed her very quickly and she received exceptional care. I wouldn't consider any other animal hospital to take my dog to in an emergency. I want to thank everyone for being so wonderful to us. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate everything you did for Pippa and me.
We brought my baby Cheeto here they were so Amazing and wonderful very Compassionate with him Thank you so much to the Staff and Dr. Bateman you all are so wonderful and Amazing!
Wanted to thank Mason Dixon Animal Emergency for there great care and ❤ for my Molly Shreve,so far so good. It's been a week since I brought my little hot dog home from a near death experience from diabetes. Your care for her meant so much for our family, words cannot express our gratitude. Thank you!!!!
Big thanks to Mason Dixon Animal. After calling around to every emergency animal hospital/clinic I could find in York, Dauphin, Adams, and Cumberland counties they were the only ones willing to see my rabbit for an emergency. Other places would see her but not for a few days because their vets that would see a non dog/cat were not scheduled to work. When time counts, they are amazing!
So impressed with this emergency care veterinary hospital!! Sadly, today we had to take our senior male Weimaraner for urgent care. Honestly, from phone call to parking lot reception to triage to care, we received the highest quality of professionalism and empathy that most humans could only hope for in a clinical setting!! The facilities are new and spotless!!! Every employee was fantastic!!! Wish I could give 10 stars!!! Thank you for caring so kindly for our sweet Grayson!!!
Everyone here could not have been more helpful, pleasant and most importantly, honest! I almost lost my little girl and they saved her. They treated her like she was their own and I couldn’t have asked for more from them. I will be hoping I won’t need them, but will never hesitate knowing the care that they provided.
This place was amazing I drove from York pa to have my puppy seen , they helped me so much with the process and made me so comfortable with having to put my little 7 week old puppy down:( All the way from the actual VET , to the TECHS, and also to MRS. SUE the receptionist they were all so kind , very caring and informative. GREAT STAFF HONESTLY I really want to thank them for everything especially during COVID letting me be there with my puppy. Their kindness went along way I would definitely recommend this facility.
This place is hit or miss one day you can receive great service and care for your pets. The next you can be turned away and told to go elsewhere. It’s not a place that can be depended upon.
Jenny Magee and her staff are awesome xoxo!
What can I say? I had a 1 year old cat with a life threatening emergency. He had a urinary obstruction and I knew it. I've worked in the vet field for more than 20 years. None of my local animal ERs would take us. Closed, short staffed, at capacity, 6-8 hr wait times, only seeing criticle cases etc. Such is life at any vet right now, I get it. I had never even heard of MDAEH but I sure am glad that I did. Took him there, he was diagnosed and I had an estimate (treatment plan) in my hands with-in minutes. The Drs and techs were responsive, compassionate, thorough, dedicated, professional, available, provided a quality standard of care and the prices were reasonable. He is home after a 3 day stay and is doing well. They saved him!!! I spoke to a lot of staff members during his stay but a few that I can remember by name will always hold a special place in my heart. Both of the gals who were at the front desk on the evening of 2/2...awesome, super nice...thanks for getting us in. His triage tech...outstanding promptness (I loved your giggle.) To the tech that let me visit with him before I left him...thanks, I needed those few moments alone with him and you were sooo sweet. Dr Cordon...knew her stuff, was spot on and had him diagnosed with a plan in place in moments. (Give that gal a bonus.) Drs Lohman and Parr...I was impressed that I got to speak to you directly for updates. Very informative, available and told me what to expect next. Dr Brewer...thanks for your steady hand and knowledge while preforming his surgery. (I was hoping for a tummy tuck for him too. ????) Techs, Heidi and Makiah (spelling, sorry) always assured me that they'd give him extra snuggles, scratches, and relay my messages that "I loved and missed him" to him personally. ( I know you kept your word. ????) I'm sure I spoke to a few others and I'm so sorry that I forgot to take your names...thank you, thank you, thank you!!! It takes a village and you all are amazing. Ohhh I can tell who ever runs the place has excellent taste. Nice artwork, coffee, fancy soaps in all the rooms, the place was spotless, well decorated and even had "the good" toilet paper and tissues. Thanks for saving my "Candy."
I had been referred to this hospital when our dog was showing signs of a serious illness. When I arrived with my pet, they took him inside right away and assessed him rapidly. They quickly and accurately made the diagnosis and began treatment as soon as possible. He was so ill that he had to stay several nights in the hospital and during that time my wife and I received updates about his care and clinical status multiple times daily from the veterinarians taking care of him. The veterinarians at Mason Dixon Animal Hospital are very knowledgeable, caring, and professional. In addition to that, the other staff members taking care of our pet would contact us multiple times throughout the day as well to let us know how he is doing and send us pictures of him via email since we were unable to visit him due to COVID restrictions. Everyone there took excellent care of my dog and made my wife and I feel as comfortable as possible especially given the situation. Patty and Faith both took a shine to our pup and treated him as if he were a member of their families. They were always available to answer our questions and ease our minds while our dog was in the hospital. Our dog was eventually discharged from the hospital and has been on the road to recovery every since. He would not be with us today if it wasn't for the amazing care provided at the Mason Dixon Animal Hospital. I would highly recommend this institution to anyone with a pet who has a medical emergency. I am so grateful for everything that they have done for our family and the furriest member thereof.
Yesterday we needed to take our youngest lab Rex to the Emergency Vet. Rex some how got a laceration on his side. We called Mason Dixon we were treated professionally on the phone basic information was taken and were advised of the current wait time. When we arrived at Mason Dixon we were greeted very professionally and with concern for our boy. He was registered and we were placed in a triage room. In a short time the triage nurse came in took a history and quick exam, then took him to the treatment area. When they took Rex to the treatment area they treated him very calmly and with compassion. The doctor examined Rex; came and spoke to myself in person and with my wife on the phone letting us know what was found and what her plan was to stitch him up. About 10 mins later another staff member came in to go over the minimum and maximum costs. Our Care Credit was confirmed and I was given the choice of waiting or leaving. Due to emergencies coming in we couldn’t be given a specific time frame. Once I arrived home I received a call our little boy was ready to be picked up and to come home after about 3 hours. We arrived to pick Rexy up; again was treated very well, instructions were given, meds were received and the our baby was brought out. Check out was not an issue. Thank you all for treating us well and taking such good care of Rex!!!
We recently moved to a new home in York County and with the stress of the move, our cat, Onyx, began to have blood in his urine. We searched and found Mason Dixon Animal Emergency Hospital on Google. We called and were told to bring him in right away (on a Friday evening). The hospital is brand new and is so beautiful inside and the staff is amazing! We were lucky to be cared for by Dr. Longbottom over the weekend. She helped both Onyx and our family get through this very scary situation with our pet, and she did so with a great amount of care and compassion. Thankfully Onyx is better now and is back at home, but if another emergency ever comes up, we'll be at ease knowing that there is this new emergency vet hospital in our area that provides such great care.
My husband and I had to make the hardest decision any fur baby owner has to make. After many, many hours of surgery and care of our baby we received loving and compassionate care and understanding from the doctors and staff. Everything was very calm and peaceful. I would recommend this practice for your emergency needs. Thank you to everyone there.
It’s 1030p & I was unsure of what to do. My dog is clearly uncomfortable and unsettled from a groom earlier in the day that had nicked some sensitive areas. Dr. Longbottom to the rescue!! Clear advice on a medicine regime, helpful tips on how to provide immediate relief and overall impeccable follow-up (even days later)- I could not recommend a more caring, competent & thorough veterinarian!!
2 hour delay is good for them but not the parents that need to get to work on the late shift or the other one that has to be up at 4 in morning
I made the difficult decision to let my beloved ferret cross over the rainbow bridge. The staff were amazing to us. They made the whole process as easy in us as possible and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our slinky. I will forever be grateful for the companion we were shown. Thank you so much.
We are so...impressed with the wonderful and compassionate care our little Golden Retriever pup has received here. From the warm welcome by reception during our first phone call, to the friendly techs taking her in, to the patience of the doctors, when calling to give us updates and information....First class and excellence! We are so grateful to the entire staff❤
Absolutely love love love this place!!!! I am beyond blessed I was directed to them!! They took such good care of my dog! I was at a different animal hospital that brushed off my concerns and what was wrong with him and only wanted money from me. The kind loving employee's love every animal that goes in, and makes sure you know everything that is happening. And they are in it for the animals well being! I now have answers as to what is going on with my pup. And I am now directed to the steps I need to take to ensure he is well, healthy and happy. Again I can not thank you all enough for everything you all did. From the first call to the receptionist who calmed me when I was frantic. To the vet that worked so hard to figure out what was causing this symptoms. To the technician who greeted us when they took him and made me feel comfort. I am truly blessed. Thank you so much ????
Our boy was sick we were there for 10 hours gave them all the information then they had a shift change had to do it all over again looks like we got lost in their Shuffle but still had to pay $800 they didn't miss that end up having to take him to another emergency vet 8 1/2 years had to put him down
Wow! Just phenomenal care. My seven month old chihuahua puppy ate a cigarette butt during our daily walk at the park. No other closer er vet had capacity to see him in York, so we had to drive 40 mins. But it was so worth it. We called before we arrived, and the office staff warmly greeted us and triaged right away. The nurses and the vet were so knowledgeable, patient, and understanding. Truly state of the art facility, with quality their number one focus. We are so lucky and thankful we were able to find this facility. I may actually make this our home facility no matter the drive. Thank you so much for everything, all the wonderful nurses, office staff and doctor! Basil and I love you all!!!!
