Dr. D is great, but unless you talk to him the customer service is terrible. As our regular vet I expected more when calling for advise about our sick dog. Instead of anything helpful I was just told I either needed to wait a month or call another clinic. There was zero concern for our dog, the main focus seemed to be getting off the phone. Calling around has gotten us significantly better results from veterinarians we've never seen before. Looks like this will be my last interaction with this clinic.

Unfortunately my first experience with the clinic was to euthanize my cat. The staff was very professional over the phone and quoted a reasonable price. The day of the procedure they were very nice and gave us a room to spend some time with Max before it started. The doctor was extremely professional and friendly and it was easy to tell how much he loves animals. Overall, under the circumstances, a very good experience.

One of the most compassionate vets that I've ever encountered. Had an issue with one of my cats that had been deemed chronic and 'just the way it is' by previous vets. When it became too challenging, I visited Dr. D'Sousa and he was able to do lab tests that discovered the issues and prescribed a treatment that has been close to miraculous. His empathy and love of animals is obvious.

Amazing team, I took my cat with a hair knot that looked like skin so I was afraid to hurt him if I cut it. They shave him, made a full check, cut his nails and even help me look up on google maps for his former vet's that was in New Brunswick to call them and get all his vaccine records. Total cost: "no charge, thanks for bringing him, we will call you back if he needs a vaccine" Wow!! Thank you, I think you guys really care for all the animals that are brought to you.

We switched to the Ellesmere Animal Hospital based on a friends recommendation. Really enjoyed the service and attention from Dr. DeSousa and am so glad we now have a vet that cares so much for his patients. Highly recommend!

We have decided to leave Dr D after 8 years and wouldn’t recommend this vet. His wife who is also the receptionist is absolutely clueless and has no sympathy for your pet. We called them in in a panic and distress after waking up one morning and suddenly finding our dog was unable to use his back legs. Out dog could not walk! Their response was “we’re booked today, you should take him to the animal hospital”! They’ve been taking care of my dog since he was a puppy. Thank god my dog has recovered, unfortunately we still don’t know what caused this incident. Dr. D diagnosed him with a liver shunt years ago and we’ve had him on some meds since, however, the animal hospital tells us there’s no way je has a liver shunt cause he would have passed by now if he did. Wrong diagnosis? Who knows.... what really bothered me more was when we called in the next day to get a refill for him and not once did his wife even ask how he was!! Absolutely no compassion or sympathy from them at all. They will not be getting any business from me agian.

I've been going to this Vet (Dr. D'Souza) for about 10 years+ now. This guy is a great vet and a great human being. However that being said, his tolerance for people being malicious is (understandably) very low. (I am referring to the one libelous reviewer and their facetious tales about the dog). I currently have two cats and everytime he has seen them, you can tell he actually cares for the animals. His staff is also great and love animals as well. You can tell from the healthy cats that are residents of said clinic.

As a dog walker for 15 years in the area, I’ve had a lot of dealings with vets in the area. I’ve been totally satisfied with how Dr D cares for pets and his knowledge and helpful suggestions are always appreciated. The only issue I have is the hours and have shown up when the doors are closed before the posted time of 7pm.

Although the staff are friendly I will not return to this clinic. I brought in my dog to get shots updated and when I called I was given a price of $115 for the two particular shots she needed as well as general exam. I confirmed with the receptionist over the phone twice about pricing. Instead I was charged $169 and when I brought it to their attention there was no explanation given other than my dog did not need the rabies shot.

I never normally post reviews for anything but I cannot say enough about Dr Desouza. Over the years and 20 years of cat ownership, I have seen many vets (including Mclean Animal hospital down the road). This vet is the most compassionate and gentle man who has a connection with all animals. Mclean told me they had no idea what the dark pigmentation in my cats eye was and sent me to an expensive eye doctor they work with. Dr Desouza knew right away what it was and assured me she was healthy. I hope he never retires!

One of the best vets in this city! I've taken my dog and two cats to many different vets through out the GTA to try different Drs and prices, some places, like in Brampton were chip, but lacked experience and other places in Richmond hill or Thornhill or Toronto lacked Customer service or tried to sell you BS you don't need. Ellesmere vet clinic is by far the best and you get a lot more than what you spend. That is also why there always booked. A good Dr is hard to find, now that I have found one, I'm willing to travel the extra kilometres to make sure my boys get the best treatment possible. 5/5 for me.

Terrible customer service. I believe the doctor's wife is the receptionist for the animal clinic, and she is the rudest and coldest person I have ever met. She is the least helpful and compassionate person whenever I have tried to contact the doctor for quick advice or even when scheduling an appointment. Clearly, she is only there because she is his wife, but I'm sure I am not the only customer who has experienced this poor customer service.

My dog died last year in the summer, but I still find myself telling people (with or without dogs) about Dr. D'Souza and the team at Ellesmere Animal Clinic. So, I figured I leave this review. The team at EAC is genuinely caring. Their love for animals provided me with comfort and security; and so, I was always able to put my trust in them to take care of my dog. This isn't to discredit any of the other vets I took my dog to, but Dr. D'Souza and the team's dedication and care for animals is unparalleled. You could tell that they work to enhance the lives of animals, rather than to make a profit off their health. I sincerely appreciated knowing that my dog wasn't being viewed or treated as a means for profit, but a living entity that deserved the best. The EAC team prioritizes animals. And I highly respect them for that. Moreover, everyone is incredibly friendly and pleasant to engage with. I strongly recommend all those looking for a caring team of animal lovers to take their pets to the EAC :) Note to the EAC staff: Thank you so much for having been such a lovely team of practitioners over the many years I took Jiji to your clinic. You were kind to not just my dog, but also to me, and I am still grateful for that. Thank you, for having taken care of my dog and for the wise and sobering advice you provided with regards to their well-being. AWFUL!! The vet is horrible, i brought my puppy in because he had an infection in his eye, (5 month yorkie) and the vet tried to examine in him but poked him in the eye and his eye was bleeding. The vet claimed it was my puppy's fault for "not staying still", showed no kind of care or remorse. I took my files from them and transferred vets and he wrote on my dog's file " DOG NOT TRAINED; BITES " of a 5 month old Yorkie. DO NOT go to them, very insensitive people , lacks profession.

We called in for a special order of pet food and again called the day of the pickup confirm that it was ready and that we would be coming in. Once we arrived at 6:15pm the person advised us that they were closed for the day and we had to come back another day. We politely asked if they can quickly process our order since their official closing time posted is 7pm, and they refused. The whole transaction would have probably taken 60 seconds, terrible customer service. There are better options in the area that I would recommend trying.

Finding a good and honest vet is so hard especially when all the options are overwhelming. Was referred to Dr dsouzas clinic by a friend and I am so grateful! My jack Russell has even has a minor surgical procedure at this vet and they have shown nothing but extreme care and diligence while maintaining fair prices. Definitely would recommend, and have!

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. D'Souza and his staff. My brother and I have been taking our dogs to this clinic for 10 years. Dr. D'Souza sincerely cares about the well being of his animal patients and never pushes unecessary extra tests etc. that drive up costs as I have experienced at other vets, he clearly explains exactly what is needed and why. Here are some examples of the excellent care my doggies have received: My 80lb American Staffordshire Terrier had several large skin growths removed over her long life (15 years), and was treated for an aural haematoma (bruising in the ear). Every procedure went smoothly and they were great at working with my large and sweet but sometimes wiggly dog. My Boston Terrier sadly was born with a heart murmur that became heart failure at 5 years of age. I had to rush her to an emergency vet who told me that she would only live a few weeks. When she was released, I took her to Dr. D'Souza who came up with a supportive care plan for her. We got to love her for another year with good quality of life. My current dog, a 3 year old French Bulldog has had excellent care there since she was a puppy. She was spayed at a very reasonable price and they took the time to carefully observe her coming out of the anaesthesia, which is so important for brachycephalic breeds with breathing difficulties. My dog still absolutely loves going to the clinic and getting treats at each check up! If you need an appointment, call them as soon because they can book fast! I also enjoy hanging out with the rescue cats in the waiting room :)

Very professional, won't suggest unnecessary tests/procedures. I drive from the west end of city to bring our two bulldogs to Ellesmere Animal clinic. (At least an hour drive on a good day). They have waited after hours for me to cross the city when one of my dogs is ill to save me having to go to an emergency clinic. I recommend them to everyone.
