Excellent clinic I brought my pregnant chihuahua to them because she was having difficulty giving birth, instead of charging me $2k for a c-section, Dr. Kwak suggested to massage and injection to help with the labour first, because each time your pet goes under there is a small risk. I’m so glad I listened to his advice. After couple hours at the clinic, and with the caring staff taking care of my little Chihuahua, she gave birth to two healthy puppies and saved me from thousands of dollars. THANK YOU!!! Ashcott vet and staff, you are the best!

YOU WILL WANT TO AVOID THIS CLINIC ???????? Our dog was diagnosed with diabetes. But we learned that: 1. This vet did not order or mention at all that we needed to get a Glucometer. Instead they gave us these urine test strips that were unreliable to say the least. 2. This vet only measured glucose and did not do a measurement for fructosamine which is normally used for long term monitoring. Measuring glucose levels alone is not reliable enough since it can easily fluctuate when a dog is stressed (aka at the vet where it might feel like a foreign place). 3. Because of the half a** assessment, they prescribed a dose of insulin that was too high for our dog and made our dog go hypoglycemic!!!

Dr Matthew Gwak and his team are always been great to my 14 and16 years old miniature schnauzers. My two boys used to travel a lot with me. But if anything happens to them, I always bring them back to Ashcott vet clinic. I know my two boys have been in a team of good hands for all these years. Both of them went to a peaceful place in 2018 and 2020. Then I thought I will do more travelling aboard, instead I stuck in Toronto due to Covid like everyone else. However, I opened up a new chapter and adopted a British Shorthair mixed in March. His old name was Shitou/Stone, but I named him Whiskey. This poor guy has infected eyes and barely opens both eyes for the first three weeks with me. Dr Matthew Gwak recommended a surgery to fix his ingrown hair problem. The surgery went really well and is a real success. Senior Dr Gwak charged me with a VERY reasonable price. 3 weeks after the surgery, Whiskey can see everything and explore everywhere he goes. He is a very happy handsome boy now. I can see his eyes that are actually dreamy pink bourbon color…just like “Whiskey on the rocks”. I am more than grateful to Dr Gwak and his team.

This place is horrible! The vet is so careless and not good at all. It makes you feel that the doctor only cares about your money, not your pet. A few weeks ago, I brought my cat in, she recommended to go through all kinds of unnecessary expensive tests. When it really comes to some issues, she had no ideas what should be done. She did some physical check on my cat without finding out any wound or real reason causing the problem. Then My mom went back home and found some wounds. (My mom has no medical knowledge at all) We went back and forth a couple times without actually fixing my cat's issues. SO If you really care about your pet, DO NOT go to this hospital.

Literally the BEST vet clinic in the area. I have been taking my dogs to this clinic for over 10yrs. As an owner of 3 dogs, I had tried almost all vets in Markham and Ashcott is honestly the best out of all. And here is why: Price - 5 stars! there are other vets who charge more or less, Ashcott is somewhere in the middle and they ALWAYS get your permission before performing any tests or treatments, so I don’t understand how other people say they got scammed and being charged extra. I love the fact that whenever there is a decision to make, Ashcott would always answer all my questions patiently and try to help me make the best decision for my pets. Professionalism - 5 stars! Ashcott is not a huge facility, so if you want a more thorough assessment and diagnosis, you could go to a bigger animal hospital where there are more equipment and of course at least double or triple the price. It doesn’t mean the vets at Ashcott are not as skillful, they just might not have the room for all the extra equipments/tools or whatever. In the end of the day, it’s still my decision to make as an owner. However, Dr Kwak and the other vets at Ashcott are always, i mean ALWAYS trying their best to care for my pets, and to me this is what professionalism is. It’s about always trying whatever they can at the best of their ability. They would go beyond and above, even call me multiple times after a surgery or a set of treatments to see how my pets are responding. Vets are also human, it’s not like they know magic, nothing is guaranteed, but the fact that they care with 100% of their heart and there were times where they told me straight up that I had to go to an emergency. They don’t just care about the money. No, they care about the wellbeing of your beloved pets. Staff - 5 stars! Best staff ever, honestly. They are friendly, professional, and caring. I’d been to some other clinics where the staff were playing with their phones, or didn’t really want to do anything because she didn’t want to ruin her nails, but at Ashcott, you would always feel like you and your pets are important. My male dog would of course, mark his territories wherever he goes, their staff never get mad or annoyed, they just laugh it off and quickly clean up for me. I mean, what more could you ask for? Just because it’s their job it doesn’t mean they have to clean up after your messy pets! I highly recommend Ashcott.

AVOID THIS PLACE. I brought my cat in to Ashcott Vetinary Clinic to check on allergies and irritation towards her skin. Upon examination, they wanted to do further tests to determine the best course of treatment. So, they asked me to do a blood test and an ultrasound. I agreed to this and they initially gave some medication for the irritation of the skin but during these extra tests, they determined she has some heart condition. In which they prescribed some more medication for it. They prescribed medication for my cat totake every 12 hours. On March 8, 2021, the first day, sheate the prescribed pill and it causedher to vomit. Which then we reached out to the vet and they instructed us to give her the next dose on schedule which continued to cause her to vomit. Following this, we contacted them once again and we were instructed to stop the medication for two days and then place her back on the medication afterwards. On March 12, 2021, we once again started giving our cat the prescribed dosage and she became ill. Since it was at night, we had to rush her to an emergency hospital. They performed extreme measures such as resuscitation including medication and intensive care to attempt to save our precious cat. We were notified that despite their best efforts that she has died. So, I ask you this, after notifying them that the medication was causing harm to my cat, they were adamant to continue with this course of treatment. Ultimately, they caused the demise of my precious cat. As a perfectly healthy cat, she went in for a simple irritation on the skin in which they started doing extra (unnecessary tests) which allowed them to overcharge and misdiagnose. Also, after performing all of these tests, they wouldn’t give the final report of these tests and only showed the results when we confronted them about it. When we came back to confront them, they acted unprofessional and stated everything they did was the correct procedure. Saying the course of treatment was the correctone. How can you say that looking at the results of what just happened. Also, throughout the conversation, not once did they show any sympathy that my cat just died and showed how unprofessional they are. They have terrible communication, are very unprofessional and lack any knowledge. I’ve been scammedout of hundreds of dollars from each visit which ultimately left me with a lost of a loved one and down thousands of dollars. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place. They will overcharge you, show lack of care to your pet, run unnecessary tests, and over prescribe for your pet. All they care about is your money and not the health and wellbeing of your pet.

Brought our cat here few weeks ago, the vet literally knows nothing. Our cat hurt her hind legs, the vet told us to do some useless examinations, which cost us hundreds bucks, and didn't even find the wounds. So I paid all that money for nothing. They don't even know how to shave cats. They told us our cats were irritated and don't let them shave her. I mean, come on, you are the vet, you literally have hundreds of ways to calm down a little cat. But they just throw it back to us. Finally, we went to another hospital, we paid less money, and got examination, surgery, hospitalization and all the stuff done. I'm not telling the name of that hospital, in case you are thinking I'm advertising for that one. But all I want to say is, DO NOT come here if you are caring about your cat.

If I could, I would rate this clinic negative stars. Last month my cat seemed very weak and she wouldn't eat much, I brought her to Ashcott, the vet checked her for 10 minutes and told me that the cat has a fever, then he sent me home with some appertite medicines. i brought my cat to emergency right after, and turned of it was water in lungs, and it was so serve that they need to operate on her right away or else she could die in any minute. heart broken

people there very nice, but doctor really no skill. my suggestion, vaccine go there, for other illness, go to pet hospital directly! one more thing, if doctor ever suggest injection for stabilization, say no! it is a big trap, as soon as injection made, oxygen charge start counting. $60 every 10 minutes. In summary, the people there are nice and polite, but It is not a qualified pet clinic, they overcharge but cannot solve problem, waste time and kill life.

Paying more of the price as a downtown most responsive, responsible and accountable vet clinic, but receiving a few sentences response from a “vet”. I used to live at dt so that I know the expenses on vet. The worst response from a vet, I can literally go on Reddit for the same answer for my puppy’s diagnosis. Really bad in terms of the cleanliness, I would rate 0/5, you can smell other animals’ scent in the exam room. And the rubber blanket on the examination table was used (found white furs from other animals) and definitely not sterilized... The pills were overpriced, so as the prescription...

Charged $58 for checkup when took my puppy there to take her flu shots. The vet didn't even bother checking my puppy.. just informed me the puppy looks ok. When I am concerned about a horrible cough that my puppy have, the vet wanted me to take 3 exams to test the cause (which of course I decline, because he does not look trustworthy).

I have heard a lot of good things about this vet and decided to bring my dog over for a checkup and to get his vaccines renewed. I was approached very warmly by their receptionists and was given clear instructions and expectations. Kimbo absolutely loved this place and I found their receptionist and doctors very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely will be coming in the future for any of my dog's and cat's needs! If you're looking for a new vet then I strongly recommend this place!

Only reason i am giving a 2 stars is beacuse the receptionist was polite and does her job. I highly recommend to try other vets. I went there is because its close to me. The older doctor is only there for your money. They charge you a examination fee almost $90 for your dogs shot and literally just took him 20 seconds for everthing. How in world he is a lincense vet when you dont even show care to your customer's pet. Atleast talk to me and say your dog is healthy. I feel like he dont like to speak to customer. I am upset because he charge you for a service that he did not perform.

This place is amazing!! My puppy was so sick and I didn’t think he was going to make it so I brought him in. They were about to close but they saw how sick and weak he was so they stayed behind just so they could see what was wrong and help him. They said he would be okay and when I came back in two days he was all better, very bright and playful. Did not even cost as much as I thought it would. Very fairly priced. The doctors and receptionists are such good people. They really care about what they are doing, and care about the customer and the animals. Extremely recommend this hospital.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They are very polite and nice but the vet is not knowledge able and was not very detailed. I went here because it is closer to my house compared to my normal clinic but the price is a lot more expensive than my old one. My other clinic charges around $45 and they charge around $90 which is fine if they are doing their job correctly. They prescribed medicine to my kitten but did not tell me that I had to mix it. Near the end of her dosage, I see separation from the bottom (kind of like oil on top and the actual medicine is on the bottom) which means it could of been not very effective. I still shook it every time I gave it to her, but it was not enough it was one of those mixtures where you have to take something to really combine everything. They charged me a full exam but did not swap her ears even once, a few days after I noticed there was a lot of brown stuff in her ears but luckily it was just discharge. Overall, they are not skilled and does not have attention to detail. I suggest you to go Malvern Vet instead. The place is a lot cleaner, cheaper, and more professional. I usually never write reviews but I want to let people know since I would want my pets to get the best treatment possible.

This is where I will never bring my fur kids back again. It was horrible. My cat did teeth cleaning and teeth extraction there, and he came back with a wound in the mouth. For a week after I contacted the hospital and they said it’s normal. Two weeks later the wound was still there and my cat performed painful in the mouth. I brought my cat to the hospital then the doctor said the cat probably has cancer in the mouth which prevented the wound to heal. I did full examination before doing the teeth cleaning and extraction. If anything like cancer why didn’t the blood test abnormal with statistics? Finally they sutured the wound and charged me for another examination fee. My cat is absolutely heathy and go hell they use this horrible excuse to avoid their responsibilities.
