I have been a client at ACAH for 3 years now and have to say I have never found a vet more knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough than Dr Tarable. Dr Tarable and his whole team are always so warm and welcoming, not only to my fur family members (2 cats and 2 dogs) but also to my wife and children as well. From the moment we arrive at the front desk to the moment we leave I am always confident that all of our questions, concerns and needs will be answered and met with the utmost patience, professionalism and compassion. All the staff at ACAH have animals of their own so they understand how much their clients love their animals and consider them members of our family Ali in reception has been especially kind and understanding and was of great comfort and support to my whole family when we found out one of our cats had a rare life threatening disease. Not only is Dr Tarable a phenomenal surgeon but he has a wealth of knowledge of all things in between. I know that when I have a concern (even if it is a silly one) that he will take the time to explain it and put my mind at ease. When friends ask who my vet is I proudly tell them Dr T at ACAH!!!

I've been taking my eldest pomeranian here for 9 years, and my second pom for 3 years now. When my eldest pom needed kneecap surgery, I went to a vet downtown who told me it would cost $3000 per leg, and he needed 2 legs done, and I should get this done ASAP, and he was 1 out of 2 vets in the GTA who can do this surgery (eye roll). My bf suggested I try Arnold Crescent which was very far for me but I went. The doctor told me that he was overweight and to get him down to 7-8 lbs otherwise surgery would be too much for his little heart. I took their advice. After the weight loss which took about 9 months, I went back (and my dog was still limping poor thing) so clearly he needed the surgery. After their assessment, they said he only needed 1 leg done and total cost was $1500! That was 9 years ago and he hasn't had a knee problem since! In a nutshell, I trust them with my pets because I know they truly care and don't overprescribe things. Their advice (both vets) there have always been spot on and can refill medicines on short notice. They also have a great grooming service.

The quality of care my family has recieved is unmatched. They have very fair pricing and always provide me with options to help make better informed decisions for my pet family. During the second lock down they went above and beyond to take care of my dogs needs. He was so matted ans the vet techs did an amazing job giving him a smooth belly and prevented a skin infection. My dog has been a patient here since 2009. I have been happy with Dr. Dewey's services. Unfortunately after repeated rude front desk service from their receptionist Yvonne, I will no longer be coming back. My dog has a thyroid problem and has been on the same medication for years. We last saw Dr. Dewey at the end of May, and he told us to come back when the prescription runs out. I called them today, to book an appointment with Dr. Dewey for September, as my schedule did not allow me to come in sooner. My dog needs to be on the medication, in order for him to have a thyroid test done. I realized I was short 20 pills (10 days of treatment) to cover him until his blood test. I called the clinic again asking to buy 20 more pills so he can do the test. Yvonne picked up and was extremely rude. She asked what I was doing for 3 months, and why can't I move my appointment sooner, with a different doctor. She said I'm not approved to have more pills until I do the test. (As I mentioned, the dog needs to be currently taking the pills in order to do the test). After today's bad experience, I called the clinic back to cancel my September appointment. There's no point to have a thyroid test if my dog doesn't have the pills. Yvonne picked up. I asked her to please cancel the appointment. She said "I'm not in front of the computer." ... This is the second time I've had terrible service from Yvonne. Last year I called to confirm that my dog's prescription was ready. I spoke with the front desk and they said yes. I told them I am 40min away and I would be coming to pick it up. I came in and told Yvonne what I was there for. She checked the computer, took my money for the medication and then told me the pills are not there and that they are not approved. This - after taking my money, and after I had confirmed just 40min earlier. She then ignored me and proceeded to help 3 other people while I was waiting. After waiting and waiting, I asked her what is going on, and she rudely cut me off and said "I'm not talking to you, I'm busy with another client." I asked her, what is happening. I paid for the drugs. Where are they? Eventually she went to the back and brought them. All my respect and admiration for Dr. Dewey, as his service has always been excellent. Sadly, it is impossible to deal with this type of customer service, and I will no longer be coming back.

I used to work here in the 80's. This has always been a great place and Dr. Dewey is still the best! I would never go anywhere else. Best place I have ever worked at. Dr.Dewey is a great guy always has been and always will be, he also really does truly care about your pet and yourself. We brought our pet dog Zeus to Dr. Kevin Dewey for a growth that we found on our pets neck. Dr. Dewy felt that it was not a big concern at all but was willing to remove it for our peace of mind. He advised us that it was a very simple procedure, in and out with a simple anesthetic. We even went as far as to run full tests with blood work to make sure Zeus was good to go for the procedure. Dr. Dewy came back and said he was in perfect condition and we were good to go. My father brought Zeus in and several hours later we where called by the clinic that Zeus had passed away. There excuse was that he had a weak heart. Bullcrap, he told us when the blood work came in that he was strong and without any problems. How disgusting to throw the blame back at us. We found out later after requesting the Dr.'s notes from that day our dog was given 3 different sets of anesthetics for a Yorkie..... Yes a Yorkshire Terrier for a simple procedure. It was like basically getting rid of a mole from a dermatologist which I have had done. Basically he put our pet down. Also, they had left him for long periods of time between each anesthetic before the procedure. If this was done to a person it would be a malpractice suit and murder charges would be layed. This is MURDER. Zeus was killed plain and simple from Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital. We are pursuing a civil suit against Dr. Dewey and his clinic. Please, do not bring your pet to this clinic. I write this without prejudice, but the community needs to be informed. To all that read this, may God bless you and your loving pet, and may this never happen to you. Dr. Dewey and the staff at the hospital were so genuine and kind ! After my first visit and after working with others in the veterinary industry, I can tell Dr Dewey is a very knowledge and cares about his patients. All the staff have excellent communication skills and made my new stray kitten feel very loved! The staff also provided excellent resources in a take home kit and of course made sure I had all the information and future appointment that will allow my kitty to thrive. Special shout out to Vaal a vet assistant/training vet tech who always demonstrates kindness and professionalism!

We have been going to this veterinary clinic for 12 years. Dr. Dewey and Dr. T are just amazing people. My husband has always dealt with Dr. Dewey and I have dealt mostly with Dr. T. Both vets are knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. They have always been accommodating in emergencies and the front desk staff are absolute sweethearts. Both of my dogs actually LOVE going to the vet to see Dr. Dewey and Dr. T, they can’t wait to get out of the car! You’re treated like family here and i find that is such a rarity in today’s world. Coco is a sixteen-year-old bichon who we love so much!!! She has generally good health but developed severe tooth and gum decay - so bad that her breath was putrid and she was in pain. Dr. Tarable recommended that we undergo dental surgery and, after slight hesitation due to her old age, we agreed. She just got back from surgery and made a full recovery! Her breath doesn't smell!!! She's healthy and happy! Thank you so much to Dr. T and the technician (Rebeccah, I think) who did a fabulous job on her teeth!!! I love Arnold Crescent. I appreciate the care they give Coco. My beautiful Lexi spend 12 hours here with the doctors making one guess after another about what was wrong with her--guesses based upon very expensive tests and x-rays that they then never examined. Finally, as the end of their business hours approached, they told me I should take her to the emergency clinic for the night. At the emergency clinic, the care for Lexi and for my family was unbelievably good, but it was too late to save our precious girl. We had to let her go...and will always believe that it was in part due to the ineptitude of Arnold Cres that delayed us from finding real help from anyone who had a clue what they were talking about.

On Easter weekend(2021) our 2 year old cat Toby fell sick, because of the holiday we assumed everything was closed so we took him to VECYR emergency vet. $3600 later... they diagnosed him with pancreatitis- 2 day/night stay + meds. We followed up with Arnold Crescent our regular vet and without hesitation Dr. Willow Johnson advised us on a treatment plan and followed up with us several times over a week to check on Toby's home recovery with medication from the other vet. Arnold Cresent clinic and Dr. Johnson are amazing! Highly recommend, they really care about you and your animals.

Let me put this simply: if the clinic accepted human patients i would be the first - well, probably actually not quite the first i suppose, i imagine the line-up might be quite long - to sign up. The entire staff has, in the 11 years i've been visiting with my cats, always been courteous and knowledgeable and, this is huge, compassionate. Dr Dewey and Dr Tarable have seen us through good times and bad, always understanding and willing to explain. Front desk and assistants are given a shout-out as well, especially Jane and Rebecca.

Dr. Dabir is an extremely knowledgeable, caring and patient vet who always takes the time to answer my (many) questions and is great with our pup. The front desk staff and technicians are amazing too, always super helpful and go out of their way to make sure our pup is happy. Tracy the groomer also did a great job for our pups first session! We were concerned about our dog being scared of the vet, but Chester can't wait to see the team!

We took in our 6 yr old very ill cat. Authorized only a couple tests. Didn't call back until I did. Cat was beyond help with abdminal Cancer. We would have come at lunch time spend some time with him before being put down, but we're not contacted back. I picked him up after work . He was terrified, soaked in his own urine on his blanket in his kennel. I was presented with a bill over $1k, extra tests, x-rays and unnecessarily being poked and prodded in agony as he went down hill in a strange place. I spoke to the vet in person next day after taking our cat back to be put to sleep. Dr. D was not at all sympathetic or kind , and was in a hurry. I got a small discount. Big deal. The receptionist felt awful as I stood in the waiting room not being able to contain my tears waiting over 20 minutes to see the vet. a woman waiting came over and gave me a huge hug and we cried. I still tear up thinking of our boys pain and suffering. We lodged a complaint that took months with CVO. I wanted this documented for our pets sake. A letter was sent, basically a slap on the wrists. We found a very compassionate , skilled and caring vet for our other pets. Staff are like a family. 6 years almost have passed and I could still cry over our beautiful boy and what he was put through.

To be completely transparent, switching vets during a pandemic when you are unable to meet in person and are limited in so many other ways probably did not serve them justice. However I had done extensive research since moving to Richmond Hill and had spoken to other dog owners and only heard great things about this "Dr. T". Yes, they are more expensive, but we were ready to get A+ service. We never got to meet Dr. T. though, and the vet we did meet was sweet and did her best so I have no qualms with her (will need to remember her name). What I am extremely unhappy with was the overall service from the rest of the practice. My fur-kid is one of the most kind-hearted dogs we've had the pleasure of existing with, but at this vet, I have heard her cry, and witnessed her leave with the "bat out of hell" pep to her step that had the staff struggling to trail behind as she exhausted herself pulling with all force on her way out of that place. Her nails were constantly trimmed as a "complimentary" service, but she was always bloody and clearly injured - and nobody ever said anything about it. We were only left to clean up the blood and hydrate the poor kid after her energy exertion post trauma. Because we've lived abroad, she has had to travel, and we have had to visit many vets, so we had really hoped to settle on a "home vet" who we can grow with...but after today's visit, we are on the hunt again. I have never heard my fur-kid cry like this from an anal gland "squeeze" and I refuse to take her there again.

We have had positive experiences with all of the capable Dr's at Arnold Crescent but most recently and extensively with Dr. Lee. Our dog had a terrible ulcer on her eye and he was the Dr available when we brought her in. He was able to save her eye. The charges for the surgery and follow ups were reasonable and Dr. Lee was very thorough. I feel like everyone at Arnold Crescent sincerely cares about the health of my dog Roxy, but I also feel like Dr. Lee offered me reasonable alternatives, and making me feel like he would have the utmost respect for whatever decision I made (we had to choose to try to save her eye or remove it) When I had concerns one of the Dr's always phoned me back promptly and when it seemed necessary the front desk staff squeezed us in. We are so lucky to have found this place !

Great experience overall! We recently had to put down our pet which was difficult however, the staff here made it less painful. Everyone is so friendly, compassionate and understanding. Didn't feel rushed at all. They provided us with several options all of which were thoroughly explained. Also, one of the fees were waived which was really nice of them to do. Dr Dewey and his lovely team have taken care of my puppies over 15 years. He is always Kind , gentle and explains everything thoroughly. He always listens to my imput and never encourages any unnecessary procedures . He knows my latest dog Truffle is super sensitive ... he literally gets on the floor with her to greet her each time . He staggers her vaccines as to limit reactions and if I say maybe let’s skip this one . He is always understanding about it . He is calm and gentle and my dogs adore him . Appointments are easy to make and I love this new open 7 days a week thing . I have also seen Dr Tarable and he is just as fantastic . Recently made a trip for my puppy Newton who was seen by the new vet . He is also amazing , took his time , was gentle and took good care of Newton’s paw . My son left a review of our horrible experience here which ACAH has since flagged and removed so I will share our account once more. Nothing but wasted money and frustrations here. "I spent and spent and spent and nothing ever got resolved. Every recommendation I got for this clinic was to see Dr. Dewey who has since sold the practice. It appears that this place has gone way downhill since Dr. Tarable took over. I now take my dog to Ripley's at Yonge/Elgin Mills where they are more trustworthy and priced much more reasonably. Think twice before you bring your pet here unless you want to get overcharged and not have any problems solved." Please do not remove this review this time as our account is 100% honest and 100% accurate and I would like to share so people can avoid similar hardships. And no, I do not want to have a conversation with you, Alison, as we resolved nothing when we did previously which is why I switched clinics and decided to share my experience. I can't tell you how lucky I feel to live close to such an amazing animal hospital. I recently got a kitten (who has unfortunately come with quite a few health issues) but I'm so glad I chose to come here for her very first vet visit. The staff is honestly the most caring and patient group of people, and genuinely all seem to love their patients. I originally brought my kitten to see Dr. Dewey (I saw that he was a fellow UBC grad and the clinic was super close by/building looked home-y so I got good vibes and thought ok why not!!) and he turned out to be great, he was very informative when giving me a run-down of the check up and really took time to explain things to me. He genuinely seemed to be very knowledgable and caring! Unfortunately, after a scary trip the emergency vet in the middle of the night, I called up Arnold Crescent the next morning and felt so much more comforted and cared for to have her information sent over from the emergency so that they could continue caring for her here. When the receptionist first picked up the phone I was overwhelmed from the night before and started blabbing but she simply asked "so what's going on with little JJ?", instantly making me feel calm and cared for :) I recently also had a chance to speak with Dr. Willow, who turned out to be just as amazing. She was so gentle and patient and went through everything step by step. Like literally, she listed out the fees one by one and how they would add up, and even told me which tests were more necessary (instead of just telling me i should get all the tests! clearly its not about business). It's really unfortunate that my kitten has needed to come to the vet so many times in such a short time and there's a lot of stress as a new pet parent but the staff here really make it soo much better :) thanks from me and jj bean! highly recommend!!

We have been with Dr Dewey since our first dog was about 1. We tried various vets within Richmond Hill and surrounding area and did not feel like we found the right doctor for our family. And then We found Dr Dewey and he was beyond perfect!!! We have now been with Dr Dewey for approximately 18 years and wouldn't trust our beautiful dogs to anyone else. He is patient, kind, experienced, honest and has a wonderful bedside manner. He has overseen our dogs through various procedures including knee surgeries, dental cleanings, etc and there are truly not enough good things I could say about him. The office staff is also wonderful and helpful with special thanks to former employee Yvonne, and current employees Rebecca, Jane, Ally and Becky the technician.

Dr. T and his team are a godsend, I'd give more than 5 stars if it was possible! I came here thinking my cat (Cal) was needing to be put down after basically being told he would need expensive surgery or to be surrendered by another vet. Dr. T gave Cal an exam and was very confident that he could help him and that invasive surgery wouldn't be required. I'll never forget what he said: "I'm not here to sell you anything or force you to get treatments, I'm here to advocate when I think I can help my patient (my cat)." The whole Arnold Crescent team went above and beyond helping and healing Cal. I've never felt such care and concern from a vet clinic team before. From multiple check in calls to personally reaching out to see how my cat and myself were doing, I can't even begin to thank the whole team. Cal is now back to 100% and that's all thanks to Dr. T and his team! Bring your pets here if you want a vet team who treats them like their own animals. Huge thank you from myself and Cal, we will see you guys soon!

Dr. Dewey is really good with our cat Toby during our vet visits. Toby gets scared when we bring her in but Dr. Dewey knows exactly how to calm her down. His honesty on what services are needed is refreshing as a pet owner as well. He is very patient with both Toby and us when we ask too many questions. We are new clients to Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital as we followed Dr. W. Johnson over to Arnold Crescent. Recently we discovered a medical issue with our 5 year old Malamute (Hudson) on a Sunday night and by Monday morning the next day at 8:00 AM we were offered an appointment by 9:00 AM and our fur baby was taken care of by 10:50 AM. The service was amazing, prompt and the charges were fair. Dr. K. Dewey was very kind and considerate and given COVID-19 restrictions I believe Hudson was care for extremely well even though I was not their in the room to see myself. We look forward to continuing our care with Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital and Dr. W. Johnson and the rest of the team at the clinic.

I can't say enough about the compassion and kindness and professionalism that Dr. Kevin Dewey and his staff have towards their clients and their loving pets. Dr. Dewey and Dr. Tarable have both taken such good care of our pets throughout the years. Always caring and always sensitive to both the care of our pets and towards us. But Dr. Dewey took it to a whole new level for us when we had to put our beloved dog down. His compassion and kindness towards our Maddy and towards both my daughter and I helped us so much. The most horrible part of having a pet is losing them. But Dr. Dewey and has staff were nothing but kind, compassionate and professional, but also personal, treating us like family. Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital has a small town feel to it - an intimacy and friendliness that you won't find anywhere else in today's world.

This clinic is so unique because it doesn’t matter which vet takes care of your pet you receive consistent great care. The reception is great and very knowledgeable , if they can’t answer a question they will have a tech or vet call you. We have taken our dog Rufus here for 10 years and have interacted with almost every vet. Dr T has hired some very talented vets and has 7 day coverage. Rufus runs into the clinic whether I am with him or not. Our latest experience with Dr Willow was fabulous, she took the time to explain and what’s more important LISTEN to my concerns. A follow up call to see if Rufus had recovered was a great touch. I would love to enter clinic with Rufus but understand and agree with policies that being said I have never hesitated in sending Rufus into clinic alone. He is with caring people. Thanks to Rebecca who always helps out with food orders , Jane for her advice and support and Alley and Dr T who have put together a great team. I apologize if I missed anyone. Whether Dr Mike, Dr T ,Dr Willow or Dr Dewey your pet is in great hands .

My family has been bringing our pets to this place since I was a kid and have always trusted them to take care of our pets as if their own. I continue to go out of my way to bring my own pets here after I moved out of Richmond Hill. I really appreciate Dr.T's ability to give you all options before making a decision and thoroughly goes over details and answers all questions honestly without pushing for anything or making assumptions. Dr Janice was by far the most compassionate and caring Veterinarian that I have EVER met. She saved my cat. .. It was New Years eve and my cat wasn't doing so great. I was turned away from my regular vet and the emergency pet hospitals in the area were all full unwilling to take her in... It was recommended that I contact Arnold Crescent through Cannon Hill Animal hospital because they were at full capacity that day as well,.. When we purchased a Bichon Frise pup 5 1/2 years ago, we had two false starts with other vets who were closer to home before being referred to Arnold Crescent by a animal loving friend who'd been taking her dogs and cats to Dr. Dewey for years. While it's a bit of a hike from our home in Markham, we are so thankful for the excellent care our dog, and our daughter's cat (brought home from college) have received. From spaying, to treatment for illnesses, to annual checkups, to pre-travel health clearance letters, we have found the entire team at this clinic to be highly skilled and sensitive to the individual needs of the animals (as well as their frequently more difficult humans). I highly endorse the entire team at Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital and thank them for their loyal and kind service to hundreds of pets in the area.

We have been going to ACAH for over 15 years. A few years ago we moved from Richmond Hill and made a number of changes. One change we could not make was to move to a new vet clinic. Doctors Dewey and Tarable and their entire staff had been so great with our dog Cindy and we had so much confidence in them that we gladly travelled the extra distance. You expect excellent and up to date medical care but at Arnold Crescent you not only get that but it comes with a genuine caring manner. Everyone there seems to truly care about animals and puts their attention first. We recently had to make the final decision with Cindy but Dr T's professionalism had giver her many quality years. It could not have been handled in a more caring loving way by people who treated her as their own. We would recommend Arnold Crescent to anyone seeking great pet care.

I rescued a kitten around June of 2020 and was looking for a vet in my neighbourhood. Having raised cats before and took them to another clinic when I used to live around North York, I had a certain expectation of what I was getting into. However, I will have to say that the staff and veterinarians exceeded my expectations and standards! The receptionists (especially Rebecca) were very welcoming and walk you step by step in the initial assessment with the vet and are kind and helpful. The vet I had was very knowledgeable with my kitten and was very professional in handling him (he was about 7 weeks old when I got him). He also gave some advice on what to expect and even gave me a complementary kitten startup kit (a small bag of kibbles, measuring cup, food dish, kitten brochures, etc)! I adopted a few kittens before around 7-8 months old so this was new territory for me. I recently got my kitten neutered (around 8 months old) and the service was as good, if not, better than before. I had a long phone call with the receptionist and then the technician where they described to me the procedures and the aftercare post surgery. They also provided clear instructions on how to feed my kitten his antibiotics and pain medication along with these instructions written down. All in all, the procedure went smoothly and my kitten is all healed at home now. Now comes the part where everyone wants to know. How is the price? Comparing with my previous vet clinic, Arnold Crescent Animal Hospital was definitely lower in costs but with better services! A consultation or vet visit used to cost me around $180 before but it was only around $110-130 here. They also always provide the cost breakdown and there is no hidden fees at all (all costs are explained up front). I highly recommend this place to everyone (my kitten's sibling who my friend took in also comes here as well as my girlfriend's puppy)!

They care about the welfare of their patients, and act in their best interests. Sometimes, at vet clinics, difficult decisions have to be made related to cost and treatment methods, or sometimes whether or not to pursue any treatment at all. In these emotional and upsetting moments, I have always felt as though the doctors have given us the information and support needed to give our pets what they deserve. I had to find a new vet for my dog because my old vet had shut down his practice and my dog was feeling suddenly sick. I am so happy that we found Dr. Janice Hung. She was exceptional, really good at explaining the situation and always giving us updates, transparent about pricing and super understanding. Wish we had found her sooner!
