They are totally cucked out from COVID. Can't even go in the building to stay with my dog. Been waiting over an hour and still 6th in line. I don't know if this is staff or government red tape but this is unacceptable. Going to take her to the Lauzon 24 hour clinic.

Kendall Domney

Took our dog here on a Sunday because he broke his nail. The staff was very friendly! Treated us and our dog great and did the job perfectly. There was a bit of a wait, we were there for around 2 hours but it is an emergency vet and so I'm sure there were other animals with more urgent injuries!

Breanna Brenko

We had to bring my family dog Heman last year to get put to sleep. I never knew my life without a dog since he was in my family since i was a year old. My family was never able to take his ashes and since then i’ve been so curious on what happened to my furry friend. Send in an email, and got a wonderful and detailed response. They really do care about the importance of family pets in different households. I miss him loads but knowing where he is and what was done with his remains is so amazing. 5 stars :)

Tammy Bourke

We're taken our dog here twice now and staff is always professional and courteous. Both times have been VERY long waits however, which can be very stressful when you're not sure what's wrong with your pet. First time was to remove a tick, which they did for free. Second time we had no idea what was wrong with her (head was shaking/twitching constantly) and we had to wait in the car for two hours (Covid protocols) to find out what they thought was wrong. Staff kept telling me she would be out in a few minutes when we opted to take her home and wait our turn there, but that actually took an hour and 2 phone calls. Vet was super friendly and explained things in detail to us and explained what he would do if this was his dog. He also took the time to answer our questions, which I guess is why things take so long. Can't have your cake and eat it too I guess! Perhaps it's time for an expansion and some more staff since ppl always seem to be waiting.

They charged us 500 dollars for 4 stitches on our bunny and were supposed to give us 16 ml of antibiotics and only gave us 8. We call and they tell us to come in to pick up the rest, we come in the morning, almost 20 minutes later they answer the phone and tell us they havent even drawn up the medications yet. Then they say they want to charge us for it again?? As IF.

leslie fleury

Was the only place open after hours and boy oh boy...they were compensate and so understanding when the parents (me) are worried upet and mean to the staff...fear nothing if its fixable there your vet!!!

Christina Bissonnette

Fantastic for any emergency visit. We had to bring in our large breed dog from the county area after our regular vet was closed and they accommodated her and treated her perfectly for a cut on her eye. They are all great at keeping us all calm through the situation. Highly recommend.

Mitchell Fox

Very thorough, they cover everything until they have a single diagnosis. It's pricey, but the care you get is amazing. I asked the vet a question about biology of my cat and he geeked out a bit, drew a diagram, explained what's so amazing, etc. He obviously loves what he does and has a passion for it.

Quinn Matthews

The staff are incredible, cared for my pet & myself, answered many questions with expertise, they were super knowledgeable & friendly! Was impressed with our experience in every way, our pet had surgery today & is on the mend!

Grace Gardiner

The staff was wonderful when our cat passed away. On a busy night they got us right into a room (excellent triaging). They were kind and compassionate. Yesterday we received a handwritten card of sympathy. For a heartbreaking time i our lives it could not have gone more smoothly.

Kyle Richardson

We brought in our red huskey while she was having an allergic reaction and we got fast, professional and affordable service. Staff were amazing and were available to answer follow-up questions we had on the phone. Highly recommend this location for any pet emergencies.

The problem with this place is there aren't enough 24 hour animal hospitals for our area. This place has people from Leamington and Chatham coming down and increasing wait times.

Kathleen Ouellette

Excellent care for my dog during an emergency. Staff are wonderful with humans too!

Christina Nantais

Dr was very compassionate and understanding. We could not afford 5.000.00 for Mri in Toronto or to go to Detroit. One of her staff howevershowed no compassion whatsoever. My dog was was limp and unanable to walk. They had me lay her on a bare cement floor and put a leash on her then she was telling us to hurry up and get out so she could lock the door. Our pet is part of our family and I wish she would of been treated better upon entry. Since we were not allowed in the building I really did not feel at ease. I was left wondering if she was alone and no one to comfort her.????????????

Nenita ranganathan

This clinic has very poor service. You gotta wait atleast 2 hours to see the vet, and then another 30 mins to just get your medicine and the bill.Nevwr wanna come back again. Poor service and bad experience

Mary Lucier

Amazing vets!❤️ Very caring and friendly, budget friendly when it counts. Got meds for both cats plus a check up for both and it wasn't near as much as I thought it would be. :)

Laurie McNeil

We went to the clinic after hours. Staff were very helpful and took good care of the stray cat we brought in for treatment. Understanding it wasn't our pet and could not provide daily pills, they gave an antibiotic shot instead that would last for two weeks. They provided good care and follow up instruction on what to watch for. I was pleasantly surprised when I got the bill as it wasnt as high as I expected. Premises were clean including the washroom facilities. It took a little longer than I expected (well over two hours) as it wasnt busy ( only one other person in waiting room) but overall the experience was positive. No complaints.

Chelsea Viselli

Just had the most wonderful experience at Walker Road Animal Hospital. Had to rush my bird in due to bleeding and they were so professional, prompt and compassionate. Updated me throughout the process as I had to wait in my car due to Covid. The girls were so sweet, truly made my anxiety level decrease as I was waiting for my little one. When I picked him up, he was happy, chirping and singing. Never had such a great experience. Wont be bringing my birds anywhere else. Great job Walker Road Animal Hospital!!

Erika Boyle

Horrible traumatizing experience and the information that I recieved was incredible. I was upset I could not go in with my boy to go to heaven. The vet techs and both vets I dealt with were absolutely fantastic. Even tho this is not what I wanted or ever thought would happen. Yes it was pricy... but thats not the vet or vet techs fault. Vet medicine has always been expensive. Never have I wrote a google review. Had to speak up for the excellent job done by all. Thank you dearly for your care with my furbaby.

Vanessa Langlois

If I could give a no stars rating I would. I brought my 5week old pup in to be checked out (after hours) because she wasn't acting her fiesty self anymore so I was worried. Anyways, the vet finally called me at 3am to talk to me and told me I need to come get her or hes going to sedate her to make her quiet since she kept crying. Thankfully he didn't end up because she fell asleep on her own. But still, who and what kind of vet does that to a 5week old puppy??? Terrible. He was very sarcastic rude on the phone as well. His receptionist was hell of alot nicer. He should take notes.

Keely mackenzie

Took my baby in for gi stasis signs and they were super compassionate and updated me throughout the night. My bun was home the next morning with meds and back to normal a day later, the cost was very good too.

Nelson676

Saw a small black spec on my cats skin. Thought he had a tick. Called and brought him in, they examined him and it turns out it was just a skin tag. I was not charged for the visit, very glad they looked at him for me! As well, they are handling Covid very well: nobody inside the entrance room at the same time. Call to set up appointment, drop off animal in the room, and return to your vehicle and await a call with results from the examination. 10/10!

Tanya Pilkey

If I could give zero stars I would. They had my dog for 9 hrs and he was never examined. They didn't deem it urgent until I went to pick him up to take him to emergency vet clinic in London.

Amanda Blacoe

I almost didn't bring my cat here based on the horrible reviews, however it was Saturday afternoon, they were the only place open, and the receptionist for a well-rated clinic referred me. Honestly, I don't understand why so many people seemed upset at the service they received here. All of the staff, from the front desk, to the techs, the the veterinarian, were simply amazing, sensitive, compassionate and friendly. I never felt pressured to accept any specific treatments, I was always consulted about price, options, etc. without any pressure. Please take the negative reviews here with a grain of salt. I have no complaints whatsoever and I will be bringing my other cats here for regular check ups from now on.

Haissam Yebahi

Excellent hospital with great service! All staff is very kind!

harold innes

The staff here are simply amazing people, they Helped us through a very difficult time when our 6year old puppy Brody died, The Tec and Doctor are people you can Trust and We Thank them with all our Hearts.

ubuzz Digital Marketing Windsor

Such gentle doctors and assistants. They are so sweet here and the new location is gorgeous.

Krystal Trach

The staff is always prepared for any situation whether it be a quick check up or an emergency. They may not be all smiles but, they take their job seriously. They are always very clear on the situation at hand. They break everything down to help you understand what you pay for, the benefits of going different routes, explaining procedures/exams/results and follow up calls/checkups. I have never been mistreated by staff even if I have been a bit of a hot head when seeing my furbabies in distress. They are professional, experienced, and dedicated to handling any situation with a calm effective approach to keep you and your family (pet) leaving happy and healthy.

Az Malik

Took our 1yr. old puppy in for an ear infection. We had a 2hr wait, but the 1st thing that the Dr. said to us was to apologize for the wait. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Made us feel better as well. We will definitely be returning to this pet hospital as the need arises and for regular vaccinations.

Patrick Noris

Very kind and helpful staff that show true diligence and effort for you and your pet, you can see they love the animals in their care. The doctors really know their stuff and eveybody there is always empathetic and inspires trust. They're my go-to every time.

Carly Deslippe

Had to visit recently for an emergency with my young cat and the immediate service and care that was experienced was incredible! Every single person I had the pleasure of dealing, with over my cats 2 day stay, was kind and thorough in explaining what was happening and why. I cannot recommend this place enough to those who are in need of high quality care for their fur babies.

Shannon Barnwell

Have been here twice now. They never follow up with you on how your pet has been. In our quote they said an ultrasound was included in the quote, when we came today for ultrasound they said we needed to pay. An already ridiculous bill of $2100..now an extra $546 added onto it when they said it was included not impressed. Gave me pain meds for my dog when my dog wasn't even in pain. Never going here ever again, I advise anyone to steer clear. All they care about it money

douglasoak839

Thank you for your expertise, compassion and care for Dexter Lakeland Esq. ????

Lisa Taylor

Handicapped cousin on disability, brought her cat in because it was having bowel issues and asked for a urine and blood test. 20 other things were done for a full page bill and she was charged over $1000. I find this truly disgusting as a professional service. My 110 pound dog had the same issues and my vet charge me $280 for the visit and medication. They should honestly be ashamed of themselves!!

Bandit69ply

I brought my dog in last October as he fell ill. They checked him over later in the evening and the vet on duty called to let me know his ailments. I decided to have him put down as he was 14 yrs old and he was suffering. The on duty Vet was very kind and supportive. They wrapped him up for me to take home and the staff were all so very compassionate. I highly recommend this location for your emergency pet needs.

Dominique Bradford

i called around 9 pm about my guinea pig, who is having a very hard time eating on her own. i was told that if i bring her at 7 am the next morning she should be seen to almost immediately. i had here there for 715, and i was told she was 6th in the que. around 1030 i called for an update, and i was told she was 2nd. another 3 hours went by with no phone call so i called again, with the voicemail saying that the mailbox was full (it’s an emergency line..?). the phone was finally answered, and i was put on hold for 10 minutes. the receptionist then told me that she was now 6th in the queue, and at this point it’s been 6 hours. i ended up just bringing her home, and i will never bring either of my pigs again. i genuinely feel that her case was pushed back to treat more costly animals like dogs, which isn’t okay. at the bare minimum, an update every hour or so at least to let me know that she was pushed back would have been appreciated.

Kathryn St. Denis

Dr. Horseman was great with our cockatiel. She knew exactly how to help her and kept us calm as she treated our bird.

Amanda Seguin

Very kind, caring, compassionate and professional. We lost our cat last night and they made us feel like we were family through the process. I want to put a special spotlight on Aline, for making sure we were okay and had enough time with our cat before we gave her over to be cremated. She made sure we were okay before we left, she was gentle and sweet. While we are heart broken to lose our pet, WRAH made the process a little easier.

Lindsie Butler

I had found my bunny on the verge of death in his cage as I was on the phone to my boyfriend on his way home from work. He hung up the phone and called Walker Rd Animal Hospital and told them it was an emergency and asked if we could come in as soon as possible. My bunny had died in my arms before we could make it there but the staff was so lovely. They were gentle with him and I. I was a complete mess. They were very sympathetic and just all around amazing. Although I will probably not go back as it was a very traumatic experience for me, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend them if you are looking for a vet. Very amazing people.

Shelby Halana

The vet was wonderful and they even called me a few days later to check up on my pup

Marry

Only caring about money and suggesting unnecessary money profiting treatments

Jordan G

My cat decided to get her paw stuck in a sticky fruit fly trap at 8pm. We drove over to the vet and were asked some simple questions about the cat and what happened. It wasnt busy at all so she was taken in right away. Not even 10 minutes later she came out and the vet tech was very kind and very understanding. Thankfully they were able to just wash off the residue and had to shave a couple spots. They didnt even charge us because it was such a sinple fix. I was very grateful for their hardwork and help during that situation.

Desmond Belcastro

Unfortunately I have had to bring my dogs here a few times. Their service is always great everyone there is friendly and compassionate. There prices are pretty high so if it's not an emergency I would shop around.

Heather Dobransky

They were very compassionate. The woman wo answered the phone, as well as the doctor working the night we attended, both shared their condolences and made the process of my mom putting her cat down as quick and painless as possible. I would highly recommend them.

Rafay Khan

Very responsive when i brought my dog in. I had no clue what was happening and they helping me through it all and my pupper is jumping around and having the time of his life now. Thank you for your service and being there for me and my pup when we needed you most!

This is the only vet I would go to in Windsor for pet rabbits. I've visited once before a couple of years ago when one of my pet rabbits had GI stasis. Walker road animal hospital was the only vet in Windsor who carried critical care formula for a very reasonable price. I went to another vet before them who did not have the supplies for rabbits at all, and still claimed they were rabbit savvy. After wasting my time with them, I went to walker road animal hospital and they gave me all of the necessary supplies for my little guy. Luckily, he pulled through and is doing great today at 7 years old. Came here again at 12 am last week for an emergency vet visit for our second rabbit. She was in very poor condition by the time we arrived and the staff there was very quick to act. Unfortunately, she did not make it. It was devastating for us because it happened so suddenly. The staff there were extremely supportive and caring during the whole ordeal, and euthanized her for no charge. They even sent a card the week after sending their regards for her death. Definitely professional and care for their animals there. Thank you for helping us.

SairSairBby

Thank you for taking care of Leon. You all were very quick, professional, and compassionate. We appriciate it very much!

Alexsandra Halsall

I have absolutely no complaints about this location the staff is amazing counter and veterinarians included. This location compared to Lowe's on road is much more affordable! It is 24 hours, very clean, and for examination medicine an IV treatment and being launched basically overnight for 6 hours with all under $300! We will definitely be using this location for any emergencies that come up in the future.

Julie Leblanc

So ridiculously expensive.. just looking at the itemized list makes me sick But good care.

Wandering With Dogs

I’m so greatful for Walker Road Animal Hospital. They took great care of my Dwarf Hamster who I rushed there late last night because she wasn’t moving but was still breathing. I wanted to do what I could to save her and Dr. Horsman took great care of my little “Chie”. I could tell that she really cares for small animals and didn’t think that she’s “just a hamster”. I feel much better knowing we did what we could to save her even though Chie ended up passing. I know she was in good hands. All of the staff were so kind too! Thank you ????

Panda OfRage

Amazing staff. The vet Gord is amazing, very down to Earth and will help anyway he can. There is a tech there that should not work with customers, only gave a 4 star because really expensive but depending on the vet they will definitely work with you.

Chris Boussey

Great place, very helpful when I found my dog choking on something he ate in the backyard. Although them being the only 24/7 animal hospital in the city they can charge however much they want so it was pricey. But well worth the price to save my dog!

Andrea Stephens

Will never be back. We took our dog to the hospital on the long weekend. They took our dog for vitals then brought him right back to us. At no point when we first checked in and after the technician came back after checking him for vitals did ANYONE tell us the wait would be 3 hours..... many many dogs and cats came in after and yet we still waited. They finally called us in the room told us half hour till vet comes. After an hour I finally go out and ask how much longer that was the second time during our visit I asked how long. After I asked the second time being in the room suprise the vet came in. Hello I am pretty sure they forgot about us or were annoyed bc I asked how long. Really they should let people know it is that long. I had 2 young kids and they hadn't had lunch. Really unprofessional staff. If you pay for a service we deserve to know it will be that long to see the vet. Thankfully my dog is feeling better, will definitely bring him to my vet....

Cat Ares

Extremely expensive. Paid 1 over night visit for fluids and monitoring...860.00. But the staff was decent.

jarod sala

I mean, crazy times, can’t expect them not to be super busy, but they saved my dogs life and took good care, I have no complaints, thank you

debs oxo

Sick kitty. Great staff. Thanks for being there. Jack says thanks too! Meow!

Riki-Lee DiCarlo

Walker Road Animal Hospital has been to the rescue quite a few times for us lately. We have visited them in the past as well, but I really feel that they are there for us during our emergencies in recent times. All of the staff that I have dealt with (over the phone of course due to Covid-19) were all very kind, compassionate and willing to try to get to the bottom of an issue using the most cost effective methods. I am truly grateful for their knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile. Thank you!

Jasmine Regnier

Super impressed with this place! They were great with my nervous pup. He ended up having to stay 24 hours and they called me with updates and were happy to help me when I called for further updates. They explained everything as they were doing it and EVERY staff member I had contact with was extremely pleasant despite how busy they were. Thanks to this animal hospital my pup is home and recovering very well. The only downside is the wait, but like any other hospital they prioritize in order of urgency. I will happily wait again for this level of care!

Emily DiCarlo

Had to bring our dacshund in for an emergency appointment when he started having back problems. Staff are handling the COVID outbreak professionally while still maintaining compassion. We waited in the parking lot and they called with regular updates. Staff were very friendly and thorough, and faxed his X-Rays to our local vets office.

DarkOrchid 7

I brought my cat in years ago when my dog bit his face. The vet was kind and compassionate and helped my kitten through his ordeal. The prices were a lot but that's because it was an emergency even though the story ended happily and the kitten was ok in the end.

Nicole Jobin

We had to bring my daughter's dog for an emergency visit after 11pm on a Saturday night. We were delighted that there were no other dogs in the waiting room as he does not play well with others. They were quite friendly and seemed genuinely concerned for his well being. They got him into an exam room very quickly and spent a decent amount of time assessing the situation. The cost of the visit was about $20 higher than my normal vet, which I understand because of the convenience of being able to go 24 hours a day. The decor was nice and bright, and it appeared to be kept very clean. There is a large parking lot, which is very convenient. They have a large TV in the waiting room to help make wait times more tolerable. My only real complaint was the length of time we were outside waiting to go in. It was a snowstorm and we had called twice to let them know we were coming. During the second call, we even told them we were in the parking lot and coming in. We were made to wait outside for about 10 minutes in the cold anyway. The poor dog even must have stepped on a piece of salt because his paw started bleeding.

S C

Good place to go Been here many times and never had an issue with the Vets or staff. The waiting time can be a bit long at times but, it happens.

Michael Breault

As biased as most people would interpret this review, numbers don't lie. The amount of money this business charges people during life or death situations with their pets is exorbitant. I know the doctor on duty did her best to save our cats life last night, but having to pay $350, and then walking out with our dead cat not even 40 minutes after arriving made a horrible situation even worse. Not to mention the $1000 we paid on Monday night when our cat had to spend the night. I'm going to see about linking to some photos of our invoices for everyone to see themselves. To put things in perspective, this place charges $600 if you cat needs to be kept in an oxygen cage for 24 hours. Go look up what a bottle of oxygen costs. I would of paid all the money in the world to keep our little furry buddy alive, but Walker Road Animal Hospital takes advantage of people that have no other options. I would highly recommend Leamington Animal Hospital if you're looking for a veterinary clinic that doesn't have a pricing scheme that makes you consider euthanizing your pet as apposed to treating them.

effie papa

Dr. Horsman is a wonderful human being who.is very attentive to your pets needs!!! She made our experience there much more tolerable!!! Would go anywhere she was to take care of our family member!

Radth Nope

Serious doctors saving lives. Please be patient at this hospital because they're doing their best. It is however, very expensive but you get what you pay for.

Keely Wayvon

I’ve now brought both my rabbits here for stasis, and an injured paw. Both Dr horseman and Dr cockburn are amazing and compassionate. They also have lovely vet techs, the whole team treated them so well.

Andrea Jordan

Long waits , money hungry. Only would go in emergency if it was after hours and no other choice. One positive they are friendly but not on the pocket book!

Phil Malenfant

Took very good care of my pet, many follow-up calls

Nicole Morencie

We just got a puppy and he wasn't eating or drinking for us. We had some other concerns with him as well so we wanted to get a puppy check done for him. Everyone on site was extremely patient with us and allowed us to call for updates and they called us as well. They let us know when he ate and drank, how he was doing, and he received a lot of love. Every one of the staff were very helpful over the phone and made the process as smooth as possible, including the vet who evaluated him. They listened attentively to our concerns and helped us through a lot of anxiety of being first time pet parents (and we received a super cute picture of him, which helped greatly). The price was as expected but not astronomical.

GMC ultr

The dog likes grapes. My child leaves them out. We won't be buying grapes anymore. 2 months ago the trip cost $186. Today was $226 for the exact same procedure. That's inflation folks! $40 increase in 2 months. At least they got the grape.

katie bulmer

We had a great experience here when we had to take our dog in for an emergency. They were clear with their explanation and thoughtful. Dr. Pelka took exceptional care of our dog Lennox and even followed up the morning after she'd been on midnights to check in on him. It did not go unnoticed and we were very appreciative.

Dianna Manchester

During this pandemic things are anything but what we are used to. Having to send my dog in alone is probably the toughest thing I have had to do but everyone has been nothing but professional, friendly and very patient with our apprehension and numerous questions. Charley has been a patient there for numerous years now and I have nothing but good things to say about the entire team. The pictures below are from his bandage change today! Thank you. Walker Road Animal Hospital for the much needed smile in an otherwise stressful situation!

Lindsay Whalen

I brought my cat in to the emergency because she was having seizures. Dr. Hilton and the technicians worked quickly and effectively to find the best options and solutions for her. They were caring, compassionate, knowledgable and effective. I am forever grateful for them saving my furr babies life.

Maria Dutkowski

Brought my very sick cat and they were able to stabilize him so he could have surgery. Was given a 50/50 chance that he would survive. He survived. Thank you!

jayden kehoe

After my dog had an emergency and her regular vet refused to see her I brought her in to walker road animal hospital and they were very helpful and comforting during the hardest day of my life. I will never forget how sweet and helpful Elaine was. After 15 years, I’m glad they were able to help my baby reach a better place and end her pain without suffering quickly. Saying goodbye to my fur baby was the hardest thing ever and I’m thankful for how I was treated by this amazing staff.

Samantha Brown

We called on our way and said we wanted to know if they were busy because we could have gone to Lauzon (night time emergency). We were told they weren't busy and could take us right away. They took our cat in the back and locked her in a cage for over an hour. I asked if they could put her in her carrier so she would be more comfortable. They said yes... and I watched through the window as the girl put the carrier on the floor by the cage and walked away. After over an hour I asked them to give her back and we took her to Lauzon where they saw her immediately and gave her excellent care. I spoke to another customer who said he had been there over 2 hours and no one had seen them. He said he was also told his dog would be seen right away. I am shocked at their dishonesty and the terrible treatment of my cat.

Alfred Portelli

I've had 4 dogs, who all had different vets. I LOVE this hospital! The staff are super patient and friendly. The vets are very thorough and fast!! Just remember that it IS an emergency hospital, so you may be bumped down the list from time to time. I'll be bringing all of my future pets here.

Nicolina Vincelli

I brought KC to the hospital , I received nothing but good service, I did not care how much I had to spent to get KC better. Unfortunately, KC passed away this morning, I was glad that he was not alone, he was surrounded by Staff. I wanted to say to goodbye, but this pandemic prevented me from being by his side.. I am grateful that you took sure good care of KC.. Rest in peace my love...

Jack Shannon

This that hospital is a real blessing because they are open 24/7 and they have a knowledgeable staff there. Unfortunately I had to take my dog in there a few weeks ago because he was sick but they fixed him up so I am quite satisfied with their service. Take note that if you know where they are now they are going to move I guess real soon further up Walker Road

17R3W

Really great experience, visited in October 2020 (during covid) and they got us in and out, and (most importantly) got our cat all fixed up. Thanks walker road animal hospital ????

Roseann O'keefe

We brought our dog there for an emergency visit. She was an older dog who was very sick. The vet was very honest with us and told us there was nothing they could do. We made the decision to put her down. The staff and vet showed us respect and compassion. We were very grateful. Thank you.

Angela Wiseman

Awful, no one helped me with my dog getting her out of car on to stretcher, had me sitting over 3 hours in parking lot with no avail info about my pet when I could have been with her. Very short and irritated staff when speaking to tech, Vet extremely nice though!! And when it was time to say goodbye to my pet before crossing rainbow Bridge, it was in a door way cuz of covid even when we asked to have her outside so it was a very abrupt goodbye... disappointed.

Nyght Song

Poor bedside manner, takes advantage of people in emotional distress to try and extort as much money as possible, twice i have brought pets here to be saved and twice I have been handed back a corpse. They don't seem to have any sort of respect for the suffering of the people who come there for help. If you can't pay their extortionate prices they wash their hands of you, force you to pay 70 dollars for the "examination", force you to sign a paper that even IF your pet lives, that the humane society will be showing up at your door in 24 hours. Never again. I will never again go here. Here's a new slogan for you, free of charge. "Walker Road Animal Hospital, living or dead, we'll squeeze every cent we can."

Samma Smith

The staff are incredibly helpful & compassionate. Taking your personal to the vet is often stressful for all involved and the staff at WRAH are great.

Hannah Bound

Friendly, caring, reassuring and most of all a God-send in times of need????❤️ I have been here a couple of times with cats and I only have praise for this hospital.

Kris Smith

Of course it struck on the holiday weekend, they did the best they could and ultimately I dropped my girl of at her vets this morning to fix her problem but they were very good about keeping in touch and monitoring ♥️

Cybr Spin

Have dealt with them for the passing of two of my kitties. They we're patient, compassionate and genuine. Also received a xmas card in memory from them. Family also uses this location. We all are very happy with the service.

Jessica Seidl

As far as medical treatment and pills they're accurate but when it comes to compassion for your animal they have a lot to learn. We brought our girl in Friday night. They won't allow anyone in because of covid. Fine. They ended up having to keep her for 24 hours in which we were given 4 different diagnoses by 2 different doctors. No communication between the two. They wanted to put her down. Without allowing any of us not even 1 person there. These rules are at the clinic discretion. Fine. We've spent $2,000 within 24 hours for hospitalization, fluids and meds. Do you think ANYONE from the clinics called to check up on our sick dog? Nope. All about the money. Thankfully we decided against keeping her there and have been able to spend her last few days with her. We've found a vet that will allow us to be with her in her final moments. Even if its an EMERGENCY and you feel like you have no other options please please look into it! There are other options!

I've been there twice during pandemic with my dog and it was such a good experience both times. They were so kind and nice and caring. They took the time to talk to me on the phone explaining all the details and they even texted me pictures of my dog in his kennel a few times when he stayed overnight. They also sent text to just let me know how he was every so often and what he was up to. I've had recommandations for the place that were good too

Denise Jack

We would like to extend a huge Thank You to everyone at Walker Road Animal Hospital. On December 5th you went out of your way to help us provide the needed care for a critically ill patient in our care. The little pup is responding to treatment and, so far, doing very well. Thank you all again! With sincere appreciation. The team at West Lorne Animal Hospital.

Milos Samardzija

Brought my kitten there, he had a fever and was limping. The staff were very friendly and the doctor explained everything very well.

kimberley ogley

Wait times are ridiculously long. BUT they are super nice.

Cindy Wark

Veterinarian was very thorough! The vet technicians were amazing! The front counter staff could be a bit more friendly! They treated me poorly, with no just cause! Thank goodness, I have a great sense of humor!

Angel Turner

My dog needed a huge lump taken off his hind leg. It was a tough surgery. Dr deluca was our vet. He was amazing. After seeing Max it was decided he needed surgery. Dr. Deluca came in on his day off to do the surgery. He called me before during and after the surgery with updates and information. Post op care was imaculate. Max had 18 stiches and had 3 check up appointments until his stiches came out. He is doing great. Walker road animal hospital, Dr deluca, and the amazing staff. All I can say to u is thank u!

Sandy Vanderbeek

Professional and incredibly compassionate staff. They took great care of our puppy who had a very large cut. Thank you for rushing her into surgery, seeing the urgency in our situation. Great doctors and support staff. Highly recommend.

Toni Wells

Thank you to Dr. Dan and the young female vet for possibly saving my dog's life. And your advice to feed him chicken broth and rice was just what was needed to stimulate his appetite while preventing another critical episode.

Tracy Filiault

I spent over 500 dollar last month due to an allergic reaction on my dog... dr did not listen to a word i said and gave me meds that didnt even work and now she has a bladder issue... been going there for over 9 years first bad experience they have a new dr. And she needs to get the hell out of there... i will never take my dog or and animal here again until she is gone...

Melle R.K.

Very kind, understanding and compassionate staff. Definitely don't go to the animal hospital for happy reasons but the staff including vets are very heart felt and caring people, they made the sadness bearable. Thank you to all that work there for what you do.

Radu Construction

I had to wait for hours and when I went to my own vet several days later they said they missed her having a heart murmur. It took 6 hours total. Why call yourself emergency service and don't look after the animals the right way.

Robert Charron

The staff is very friendly and informative and put up with our questions at all hours of the day. They saved our dog in the middle of the night when he had an obstruction. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because it cost us a fortune. The surgery was about $1000 more then Lauzon (I would pay it again to not go there) and about twice the price of our regular non-emergency vet. If you're in a bad situation after hours, you should be going here. Do not go to Lauzon.

Matthew Farren

Excellent care for a sick cat I helped my friend bring in in the night. When they saw our budget was limited, they gave X-Rays for free. Fixed her cat right up. Can't say enough good things about the team!

Lena McLean

Great service, thank you for taking care of our baby

Marco Martinez

We waited for 3 hours for the vet to see the cat while he bled. We were told we would have a bit of a wait but not to this extent. Took the cat to another vet and they looked ar him right away.

frankie cappelli

My girlfriend and I rushed our year old Husky there for issues unkown to us. On first impression everything seemed fine, the building was clean the two women working in the front were great, they were kind and quick to do their part. Took our information, typed up our concerns with our puppy and weighed her. From here on out is when it went poorly. We were put into a small 4 x 4 examination room and waited nearly 45 minutes while our dog was shaking uncontrollably and fumbling over her own feet before the vet saw us. He comes in, doesn't say all that much, takes her heart rate (does not tell us what it is) takes her respiratory rate (does not tell us what it is) takes her temperature, you guessed it does not tell us what it is. Proceeds on to feel around her stomach a bit more, and then says he has some ideas what it could be and leaves the room to go get billing options, before even telling us what it could be. Returns finally after 15 more minutes goes by, at this point we have been there over a hour now. Puts two bills on the table, one for nearly $500 to do some simple blood work he says, and the other nearly $1600 to go ahead and do some procedures on our dog, since he believes her to be diabetic...... even though her parents are not, she is healthy weight and all her vitals are perfect. So he continues to try and push the $1600 procedure on us and when we state that we are going to wait until the morning to get our vets (Leamington Animal Hospital) opinion, he starts making remarks of us not caring and having the money to pay for it, and then charges $105 fee just for looking at her. Low and behold the next day we take her to the actual vet where the vet is super helpful and reassuring that everything is going to be okay, and informs us that she is in fact NOT diabetic but has something that isn't digesting in her stomach, causing a small blockage. He gives her a few shots, and a prescription to try and break down the blockage and help her pass it, all while having incredible bedside manor. The final verdict, the vet at Walker Road Animal Hospital has poor bedside manor, and your animal does not come first there, it's how much money they can profit from you.

MIHAJLO

Brought a rabbit that went septic out of nowhere, called at midnight and they took her in right away and did everything they could. They were able to make sure our girl passed pain-free and free of charge. Very accomadating and sympathetic staff. Thank you for your assistance.

Melissa Weller

I had to euthanize my 14 year old chihuahua. Rachel at the front desk was very professional and compassionate. The technician and doctor went above and beyond to ensure my baby did not suffer and that the experience was the best it could be. I highly recommend their facility.

Manar Diarbakrli

Very bad experiences, waiting too long, staff members and doctors try to make more money by offering you unnecessary services to sick pets in order to make more money, don't go there, waste of time and money.

Beth Wilson

Couldn't accompany my 8 month old GSD into the building because of covid policy. He. Was very scared and they couldn't examine him properly. He has many commands, not sure if they even attempted to ask him to sit or if he was just too skittish with strangers.

Linda Squire

My pooch got cone off somehow ripped open all stitches a week after knee surgery at 3am. Rushed her here...they cleaned & repaired it all & Rylie got antibiotics. Today...approx 4 weeks later, she is completely healed and back on her feet. Very happy pooch & family.

Bernie Rose

They were great, very understanding took very good care of my little one. They take emergencies. And while the wait may have been a bit long it could not be helped due to other important emergencies coming in. Note they triage your pet so if they're already busy be prepared to wait if your pet is not as emergent as another. But their services are top notch. I would recommend to anyone!

Cindy LaBrecque

This Animal Hospital goes above & beyond. I have had both of my senior dogs taken care of here & their compassion goes above & beyond & that includes all their staff.

Emily Adele

Expect to wait a million years for something simple (waited 2 hours for a med refill), and for them to forget to call you back. But they're 24 hours sooooo weigh your options

Lynnette Fuschi

We brought our cat in with a dog bite. They assured us he would be fine. After the surgury to repair the wound began they called and said it would cost more than the original quote because the wounds were deeper than first appeared. We agreed. They sent Kitty home shortly after with meds and care instructions and a written note that we could expect him to be back to himself by the next day. He got progressively worse thru the night so called the hospital and they said bring him back in. New course of treatment was explained with substantial cost, but again assurance he would recover. We agreed. Before the 24 hours we paid for even ended they called back to say new treatment wasn't working and they wanted to start new treatment with another substantial price. Now they are saying only a 50/50 chance to live. We agree to try again. They call the next morning to say good news he is showing signs of improvement, only to call a few hours later saying now he may have water on the lungs, is septic, and a slew of other problems. This time we said enough, give him a few hours and see if he improves they called back 2 hours later to say he was dying. They would not allow us to take him home to spend his last hours or days in loving arms but were more than willing to charge us another 200 to put him to sleep. We went from what was supposed to be a complete recovery for 750 dollars to our pet dead to the tune of nearly 3000 dollars. It was a horrible experience and I would not recommend taking your pet here unless you have unlimited funds and are ok with constant guess work.

Zack

I've been here several times over a few months and it is literally the slowest clinic I've ever been to in my life. Going to a human hospital is faster. It has taken me an hour of sitting on the phone in the parking lot just to pick up medication.

Lillian G

Just a heads up. DO NOT bring your animals to the Walker Road Animal Hospital. A woman brought her dog Titan in there yesterday because he stopped eating and wouldn’t stop shaking. He came out with a swollen eye and brused face. They first tried to say it was dye from the muzzle, then the vet said she didn’t notice when she examined him. Titan was sedated 5 minutes into his appointment because he was so anxious he fainted. Not sure how he would have done this to himself if he fainted, then was sedated within 5 minutes of being there. They have filed a complaint with the College of Veterinarians. & went to their facebook page after and read horror stories about this place.

Colin Christie

I brought my dog in with a sore paw to the point where he was limping and having trouble walking. I checked him in before noon and they said it would take a while for him to see a vet so I should go home and wait for their call, he was 5th in line. After 3 hrs I heard nothing and had to call to check on him, they told me he was fine and still 5th in line and not to call back to check on him. Said they will call when he's seen a vet but can't tell me how long and after 3 hours he was still 5th in line. Called back 2 hrs later, took 20 mins to get someone just to give me an update. now he was 3rd in line, they tried to tell me he was comfortable and happy, somehow I doubted this. By 830 pm I still hadn't heard from them, called back and I got told he was now 2nd in line. At this point it had taken over 8 hrs for him to move from 5th to 2nd in line. They still refused to give me an idea of how much longer it would take for hit to see a vet. By now his basic needs were not being met, he hadn't eaten since 8 am and I only have their word he's been taken out to relieve himself. I pulled him out as I was now concerned he wasn't be treated properly. When he got home he peed a lot and drank a lot. I don't think anyone was taking care of him for 1 second during his 8.5 hr stay where he only moved from 5th in line to 2nd in line. If it takes 8.5 hrs to move up 3 positions in line then something is wrong with this place. When I expressed my disgust for how my dog was treated when I picked him up, one of their staff gave me the finger behind a locked glass door. If you care about your pets well being, stay away from this place.

Heather

Amazing work. I've had 3 Pets that I've always brought here. The wait times can be a little longer than expected but they always do everything they can to ensure your furry family members feel welcome and stay safe and healthy

Krystyna

1.The most unorganized Vet we have seen. First day waited 5 hours. Second day which is supposed to be follow up visit waited 3 hours. Not possible to make an appointment. 2. Every time you call (we called many times) you are put on hold and they are pretending - they Always have an emergency happening ). 3. Very high prices . Just money drain. 4. Terrible experience with the service offered for our dog. We do not trust them. We will not be back. 5. BE AWARE

Katherine Patchett

Phenomenal customer service and 24 hour care, and reasonable rates. COVID-19 is difficult for everyone, but Walker Rd Animal Hospital has adapted very well to ensuring the safety of us, our pets, and their staff while still providing essential care, comfort and peace of mind. I am grateful for them!

Dawn Anne Drouillard

Dropped our rabbit off almost 8 hours ago (7:30am) and still waiting.. we don't live in the area so we are just waiting around for her to be looked at... It's getting a little ridiculous. It's pretty bad that the emergency room is faster then the vet.

Owen Lee

This place has taken great care of our cat, who always seems to get sick on holiday weekends when we can't take her to our regular vet. The new location is great. Staff is attentive, kind, and very competent.

Gina F

Horrible set up there! My sick dog had an ultrasound booked for 1:40pm, when I got there I was put on hold for 10 min then, after telling them why I was there, they made me wait for over an hour in 95F heat with my dog who was not allowed food or water for 8 hours beforehand! He is already sick, this stressed him out so much he was drooling profusely (he never drools) and panting to hard I was afraid he would die from heatstroke. I kept calling and being put on hold. Finally I told them my dog was dying in their parking lot from waiting in this heat. My a/c was on full blast but it wasn't enough for him. Then I had to wait in my van for another hour and a half, of course they won't pay for my gas to keep my van running in this heat so I don't end up with heat stroke. Why can't we go inside with our pets? Other vets allow it. Only reason I had to come here is because they are one of the few choices to do ultrasound, my first choice the vet is on vacation. This is unacceptable! My pet suffered unnecessarily. If they can't keep my appt time let me stay at home until it's time! I was on time, you should honour appointment times. I'm surprised you're allowed to operate with the perils facing dogs having to wait in a vehicle for hours when they can't handle the heat. My dog is a boston terrier. Brachycephalic breeds are not able to tolerate exteme temps! Something needs to change, this used to be a good place but it has been going downhill for a few years now. The long waits are cruel to animals!

Melissa Craig

Would not recommend if you have an emergency ... My boyfriend and I brought our 6 month old chocolate lab puppy after she showed symptoms of an allergic reaction and threw up a worm on Canada Day. My regular vet being closed, we had no other choice but to bring her to be assessed and treated. I called a few times to check on wait times and it didn't seem to improve so we brought her anyways. When we arrived, I was told that it would be approximately 3.5 hours until she was seen. We had already committed to the wait time so that was not the major issue. During our almost FIVE HOURS that we sat and waited, I watched 5-6 pet owners leave empty handed after seeing their animals walk in with non-life threatening issues. Another woman sitting across from me waiting approximately the same amount of time had her dog die in her arms because a vet tech did not attend to it quick enough. It seems like this animal hospital is definitely more in it for the money they can charge people. They only came and looked at my puppy in the lobby after she vomited - 3 hours into us already being there. Very little communication with front desk staff, very disappointing experience. Take your pet where people will actually give them the best care.

I'm absolutely heartbroken with Walker rd. I understand we are in a pandemic. But seriously after 10yrs of bringing both my cat and dog to them. First in sept our 16yr old cat passed away. I had to go to a vet I've never been to because they wouldn't allow me to stay with him. I wasn't letting him pass alone. Also after he passed they refused to buy back his canned food. Seriously I understand if it was a open bag but cans? Oh and another vet bought them off of me no problem. Now our 10yr old boy is at his end. Again we can't be with him. His meds are due today. They refuse to give us less then his 100 which is prescribed. If the prescription is changed we have to bring him in. We can't get him in our jeep. Now we are told buy all 100 and they will not buy back what he passes. Nothing like making your clients feel like the only thing that matters is the money. UPDATED! Our dog once again needs his medication. We requested an appointment. Were told no we could come and wait. I explained he can't jump anymore and we have to borrow a vehicle to get him there. They still refused. I started to cry and she hung up on me. I called back and she said they refuse to see him now. Are you kidding after 10yrs and all the money for food, medicine, flea meds and emergencies this is how you treat us. Nothing like proving its all about the money and not the animal. I now understand why they can't keep staff. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Dylan Johnstone

Ive been to alot of vets and never experienced people so money hungry. You will pay more than any vet and get nothing in return. They also don't care about any pets well being they make it clear they just want money first even if they kill your animal. I wouldn't even go there for an emergency again

Camryn Bolohan

Terrible experience. Waited 6.5 hours just to be told our situation wasn’t an emergency or a problem. The vet barely looked at our dog and then told us he could have anything from the flu all the way to cancer?? She gave him a shot and said it would stop him from getting sick and yet he had the worst night of his life. Waste of our entire day. NEVER going back. If you’re reading this, go to Pesic on Wyandotte. Much better service, kind staff, lower prices too.

Jillian Kenny

Spectacular people, with warm hearts & incredible understanding. Not that anything could make going through this excruciating experience any better, but they certainly didn't make it more difficult. Actually, their sweet, kind & understanding vibe did help quite a bit. There was an ease there in their ability to answer any questions, even through my sobbing & snorfling sounds. ???? It's hard for me to see what I'm typing through the blobs of constant tears, but thank~you all so much for making Eddie's last moments on the planet as comfortable as possible. Your kindness & patience will always be remembered & appreciated.

John Lariviere

It's a shame I have to change my review from a five star to no star it appears that walker road vet clearly only care about the money it makes and not the animal's my grandkids cat was hit by a car last night and who every the women was that worked last night should be fired she was rude and had no Compassion I've been reading your reviews it Seems to be a common complaint by a few people but you don't care do you as long as the cash keeps rolling in you make me sick

Turbo Foxbody

Took good care of my pup after he was hit by a car, unfortunately had to put him down, super upset that his collar was lost but it was frantic when we came in, all and all good experiences

Allyssa Fournier

It's been a couple years with switching vets now, and I absolutely can say that WRAH is one of the best I've ever been too with having pets my whole life. I highly recommend them. Staff included, so helpful and genuine.

Generic Username

Never take your animal to this miserable hospital, they are unethical and only care about draining your wallet! they don't give a damn about treating your pet!! It is absolutely sickening to witness such terrible practice!

Johnny DoRego

Did not like it, because they wouldn't let 2 of my family members to stay next the their dog till he passed on to a better life.

Ian Haynes

We were on holiday out of the area for about 8 days. We boarded our cats, all three of them, at our regular vet in Forest Glade. All three are rescue/strays and getting on in years. Bruce was an insulin dependent diabetic. On the evening of the 30th, we got some calls about Bruce. He was in a diabetic coma and his kidneys had pretty much shut down and our regular vet transported him to Walker Road to see if there was anything they could do to bring him back. The prognosis was dire. Several missed calls and text messages later we decided that it would be selfish of us to vigorously intervene in order to buy Bruce two or three weeks more time and we made the decision to end his discomfort. We had to call Walker Road after talking with the regular vet so TWO folks at Walker Road would hear the decision directly from us. Note that we were at my nephew's wedding reception when all of this began. We spoke to the requisite two folks at Walker Road and the second person, upon confirming our decision, asked, "How will you be taking care of this and the other expenses incurred? We can do it right away over the phone with a credit card." I was speechless, and my wife asked if this could be taken care of the following morning. The bill was settled up the following morning. Walker Road is an excellent pet care facility and their 24 hour availability has proven handy some years ago. The bedside manner is non-existent: at least that is the take-away from our last interaction. Asking to settle up over the phone when we're three time zones away, just after telling them to euthanize our 14 year-old cat, is completely devoid of compassion.

Brought my cat here on Monday evening due to not eating...vomiting clear frothy fluid after syringe feeding water and having no bowel or bladder elimination for 2-3 days. They did xrays which they told me were unremarkable. They did administer 'bips' so they could re xray in the morning to see if the bips were moving through out the digestive track to rule out a foreign body. They were to monitor over night and hope he would start eating. The next day...this is now the 3rd vet said everything was looking good and he could come home and we were to pick him up at 6pm. I arrive at 6pm and now speak to the 4th vet. She tells me there is a foreign body that the 3rd vet did not see on the xray.she sent me the xray...yep i could see it. There was in fact a 'bip' stuck in the foreign body on this newest xray. Wow....just wow. To make this painful....long story short. They did do exploratory surgery and removed a piece of plastic from the end of his small colon. It was the size of a quarter. This was tuesday night. Surgery went well with no complications as per vet. He was recouping...voiding and starting eat... By thursday morning with minimal communication the 5th vet tells me they couldnt get a blood sugar on my cat. His blood work was all over the place and his condition was bad. She said he must have an infection somewhere. By thursday afternoon the vet said they would go back into surgery but the cost would be 10-15,000 dollars and he had a very low chance of survival. Sadly.....Pete was put to sleep. They did an autopsy and say he had dehiscense...they 'think' (seriously?$#£@ you) Incompetence at its finest. They killed my cat...thousands of dollars ...no communication....too many vets with no continuity of care. This is the most common surgery walker road does according to #5 vet. How did this happen. Never ever again....to the nasty office manager ...shame on you. You need a course on empathy. A little compassion wouldn't hurt you either. Rest in Peace Pete...sorry we trusted this place. ????

Paul Coleman

Price gouging at its worst and when people are at their most vulnerable. My daughter brought in her injured cat. Estimate for amputation of his leg $2,500. My daughter called another local veterinary hospital and got an estimate of $600 (400% lower) She went back to Walker Road Animal Hospital to pick up her cat to transfer it to the other veterinarian and recieved a bill of $520 for the exam and keeping it comfortable. How can anyone justify a 400% difference in price? We were disgusted and will never be back. The cat recieved excellent care at the other vet and is doing great.

Allen Ross

Called this morning my cat had a broken tooth cant eat in pain and they deemed it not an emergency! I know what's going on but pets are family!

Aaron Koscielski

Really great vet. I haven't compared prices to other vets but they're always so helpful and you can tell they really care about the well being of your pet. We've been going for about a year and a half and will continue to do so with our dog

Dennis G.

I'm very grateful for their 24 hour service. They have taken excellent care of our dogs in emergency situations, including on Christmas.

Chelsae Durocher

Was hesitant on after hours emergency pet care after a horrible previous experience at the lauzon animal hospital; however walker road was completely opposite. The doctor and staff was phenomenal!! Would definitely recommend

Jim A

Very knowledgeable in diagnosing what was wrong with my oldest dog. My pup was on what looked like her last leg, brought her in at 11pm, they did all necessary tests and shots and meds and now she is acting like she is a young pup again. Thank you!

Zelda

what can i say fam they saved my DOG. and then gave me a refund for services they didn’t end up needing. they let us check in whenever and it was super honest straightforward and above all, BEST care for my girl.

Michelle Sykes

If I could rate this clinic a negative I would. I have never received such horrible care for my dog when he had a fractured leg and they made me wait 8 hours for him to even get checked out. All he was given was a pain killer to numb the pain as the time went on; he kept being pushed down the line as other dogs/cats arrived. I waited in the parking lot 4 hours until I finally called in and asked what the hell had been going on and once I said I would just take him and go they said they didn't advise it because they knew something was wrong with him but I guess not crucial enough to check hid leg OH and he also had a fever which could have been from internal injuries, BUT did they call to inform me of of this information OF COURSE NOT. They were horrible to try and get any info out of, the vets there were completely useless (and I know many around the area). I suggest if your dog/cat is in a bad state and can make it to an urgent care clinic an hour or two away PLEASE take them there and not Walker Animal Hospital. name of vet is deluca cant complain enough about this place. GO TO LAUZON VET HOSPITAL, got me in right away

Dennis Sauve

I had a problem with my dog convulsing and they took her in at 12 o'clock at night and watch her there the whole night till I could get her into my regular vet they were very attentive and did not charge me for the stay overnight. They provide very excellent care.

Geena FOW

DON'T COME to this place ever !! Long waiting times. I arrived at 11 and left by 4 pm ???????? they charged me 300 dollars and my cat is still sick. What bothers me the most is that they said the vet would arrive in 20 min!! liarsssss!! They didn't even tell me what the problem was, they were just guessing and gave some medications that are not working. Poor of my cat I will bring him to a different place, I'll never come back to this place!!

Tracy Dearman

Couldn't have asked for a more compassionate and understanding team. Dr Hilton and one of the vet tech girls, Santana made our experience less terrifying. I will definitely be bringing my dog there when I get a new one.

Shalynn Preston

They where very friendly. They also where very fast for checking over my baby boy. And very Reassuring me that if I notice anything to bring him back.

Rory Staschuk

I find this Animal Hospital completely inhumane. Every other animal clinic will allow you to be with your pet if it is being euthanized. I understand social distancing and the need to protect yourself but with this clinic you drop your pet at the door and say goodbye there. According to their website there are no exceptions. I wonder how any of these people would feel if they had to euthanize their pet.

Kim Girard

Staff are quite compassionate. Offer complete and loving care to your extended family members!!

tom McLean

Not happy all day process. Charged $217 for visit and antibiotics with pain meds. Was told surgery for my dog would cost $1700 another $600 for blood cultures. Went to another vet had surgery antibiotics and pain meds all for under $500. Not very impressed taking advantage of people who love their pets.

Jennifer Dinchik

I just took my dog on a Saturday night and waited 90 minutes in my car and heard nothing. I call and asked what's going on and she tells me that I can go home for the night if I want because the wait is at least 6 hours. I called earlier in the day and she said there was 5 people waiting and there was 2 vets on. I come to find out there is only 1 vet working, and at what's now 9pm, I spoke to some people in the parking lot who had been waiting since noon and 2pm and their dogs hadn't even seen the vet yet. They should be giving out approx wait times so people who don't want to or can't wait 6 hours dont waste their time. I asked the wait time when I called the second time and she told me they dont give out wait times on the phone. I understand emergencies happen and often surgery is required but this why they should have at least 2 vets on staff over the weekends for sure. everyone else is closed so how can you service an entire county with 1 vet on ?? I left and went to lauzon and waited less then 5 minutes.

Kurtis Gray

Terrible experience brought my puppy in cause she wasn't feeling well they made her wait 18 hours in the cage with out seeing her or taking her to the washroom so I decided to call lauzon veterinary hospital which I should have just went there in the first place. They saw her in 30 minutes. I do not recommend bringing your animal here.

Madeline Mcauley

Last month, I rushed my dog to this location. The staff asked me to wait in the parking lot inside my car. I waited for 3 hours at the parking lot, and while I was waiting, the Dr. called me to discuss my dog's health condition. My dog was diagnosed with diabetes, and he needed to be hospitalized for a couple of days to run blood tests and medical exams. I asked Dr. a few questions regarding my dog's health including the price for the dog's treatment. He replied we are looking at are a couple of thousand dollars. I asked if I can make payments, and he responded WE DONT ACCEPT PAYMENTS AT THIS LOCATION. During this pandemic, a lot of families are experiencing difficulties concerning money. To keep my dog alive, I was able to borrow and collect some money and then eventually re-pay back to my neighbors. In my opinion, this male Dr. was rude for replying We do not accept payments. He told me to treat my dog, the total payment needs to be made first. I also found out that a friend of mine brought her ill cat to the same location. They offered her a plan, so she can make monthly instalments through PayBright. This location has very high prices.

Daniel Wilson

Confused on their services. Called to buy prescription dog food for my dog and the lady on the phone said her supervisor told her they are not taking on new customers.

Took my shihtzu at 11pm for emergency and they were so accommodating and very nice, very helpful staff and considerate. Recommended animal clinic for sure!!

We took our golden retriever to Walker Rd because he looked like he had an infected eye (red, discharge coming out). We were charged to be told it was just eye-boogies and nothing to worry about. I even asked if we needed to worry about it being contagious as we were getting another puppy in a few days, the vet assured me it was not. A week later my golden's eye had gotten worse, and my new puppies eyes were looking red with discharge as well. We called Walker Rd for a recheck, and they told us they 'highly recommend we bring both dogs in', but that there would be ANOTHER examination fee for BOTH dogs. Even though they had already charged us a week prior and told there was nothing wrong. We took our dogs to another vet, turns out they had an eye infection (contagious) that could have caused blindness if left untreated. Our 3 dogs and cat will not be returning to Walker Road Animal hospital again, and I recommend to everyone else that you take you're pets elsewhere too.

Leah Curd

Even though they are very busy - they did their best to keep me updated and informed while my pet was under their care. Thank you so much everyone at walker road animal hospital!

Monique Carter

Awesome staff! And amazing doctors! They saved my dog. Level of care was unreal!!

We've had to bring our cat(s) here several times for after hour urgent care, and they're always professional, and caring. Expect to be there a couple of hours because it's like the ER. Most urgent will be seen first. I've always had good care here, and I'm thankful they exist.

renee lesperance

The most caring veterinary clinic I have ever been to. They went above and beyond. We found this clinic through an emergency but now this will be our regular veterinary clinic.

Blaine Rankin

Can't say enough good things about this place. I brought my dog in recently, they took great care of him. I will always recommend Dr. Watkins and their staff.

D Cortese

I phoned because my dog ate a cherry pit that was dropped by my daughter. I was quite concerned and the person from the clinic was very kind. She went to check with the veterinarian on duty. I was disconnected (thanks Bell) but she phoned me back to relay the information. I greatly appreciated her kindness and information.

Meaghan McLean

Excellent! They rushed our golden retriever in after he got into the garbage and were great the entire experience

James Chen

Couldn't help but feel that my pet was just a dollar sign to whichever vet happened to be on staff for the day. Female one was the worst, behaved professional but very disingenuous. Would not recommend even as a last resort. Staff answering phones were very nice and professional, that's the only saving grace.

Bailee Fraser

I am appalled by the service I received from this animal hospital. We waited for two hours and were not even given as much as a towel. My dog was diagnosed with acute spinal paralysis which she was diagnosed with when we were fed up with the terrible service thats was provided to us and we went to the lauzon vet. When we arrived my dog could not even move her back legs. We were put in a room and waited about an hour with out even a visit from a staff member to check on the dog or to inform us what was going on. My dog was in a state of panic from the inability to move her legs and we were not given anything to calm her at all. We asked what was going on and a vet tech told us that our dog is "not dying" and that we were not the priority. She was very rude and made us feel insignificant. Even though they were apparently too busy to help us we could here them talking about "stickers for otterboxes, and "pad tai". After about two hours a nicer vet tech brought us a blanket for our dog and gave her some treats. This is the only person who was somewhat professional and kind to us all night. All in all we waited far too long, the staff was incredibly rude, and our dog panicked for two hours while she could have been recieving treatment. This service is not exceptable and we will never be back.

Melanie Lenahan

Took my almost 2 year old cat here at around 9:40pm and we wernt seen till 2am. They told us he had crystals in his urine but didnt tell us how dangerous it was. They gave us an anti inflammatory and a bag of food telling us it was his diet that needed to be changed. The cost came to nearly $300. The next night he still was not okay in fact he was actually worse. We took him to our regular vet and they took him right away informing us about just how serious this was and found he had a blockage. Our baby died after the vet did everything they could. The hospital killed my cat and stole my money. He still wouldve been here if they actually did their job and wernt so money hungry.

Deb and will Bolton

Had to bring my fur baby here in emergency and they took great care of her

Tiffany Beniuk

long waiting times, when we book an appointment they never put it in the computer, spent over $200 on vet bills from here and now after all the medication our kitten is dying and only has a few days to live. do not suggest them whatsoever, pulled all three of my cats vet records from here and wont be returning.

Cody MacKellar

Very good experience with our dog there. With Covid they kept us updated over the phone. Very happy with them!

Levi Wells

Staff is very friendly and the vet I had for my dog was amazing. This is now my regular place for my fur babies

Gregory Fecteau

I unfortunately had to put my beautiful 12 and a half year old bernese mountain dog down to rest today. I obviously had alot of questions to go along with alot of concerns. Dr Dan whom I never met and is a veterinarian there, is a very, caring, compassionate and understanding Doctor. He went out of his way not only to explain my dogs situation and the available options. After talking with my family we made our decision. Dr Dan cared so much to make sure that my family was ok that he called twice to make sure that everyone in my family was ok and if not that we could call anytime. A God send for us and a wonderful animal lover of a man. Thank you Walker Road Animal Hospital for your great care and compassion. Sincerely the Fecteau family

mark nantais

Very professional and personable.. they are also great at explaining the issues relating to you pet...great Doctors and staff

kylee sasha

Amazing people Brought my cat in after he was stung by a bee and they took him right away and turned out he was fine just acting like a drama queen...They were all lovely women including the doctors. Will go here from now on, even though central hospital is closer; Walker road is absolutely amazing!!

Thank you. Bun Bun Bunny family ❤???????????? Kudos to the frontline workers working during this pandemic. Greatly appreciated your professional, caring service. So grateful that our Bun Bun bunny is on his way to recovering. Excellent service. Stay healthy and keep safe.

Tara Semperger

I've been sitting in the waiting room going on 6 hours. People that came in after me were told there are X number of people in front of you and yet somehow they still got seen before my cat. Apparently it's who you know, not how sick your animal is that gets you into an exam room.

Kelly Collard

Was forced to bring my dog in for a checkup up in order to get a prescription refilled even though my bottle had 3 refills. Then they weren't going to see her because I'm a healthcare worker. Dropped her off and waited 11 hours and no one had even seen her. No phone call, no apology. We brought her home with no refill because it was now midnight and I had an early shift in the morning. Not impressed.

Stephen allman jr

Brought my dog here on Monday with a blockage, he sat for almost 24 hrs in a queue to be seen. Picked him up and took him elsewhere and was seen immediately. Do not take your animals here.

Ally Schneider

Took very good care of my cat and had her out and home in less than 12 hours. Wonderful communication, fair price for treatment, and the people there are kind and understanding.

Karen Mcmahon

Terrible service...???? After being put in a room for an hour I had to come out and ask how much longer till Vet was gonna see my dog? They tell me he's doing a procedure and could be couple more hours?? Are u serious u couldn't tell people? She then proceeded to go thru waiting room ahead of us telling people out dog is infected and to hold their pets back ????????...how the hell do u know what is wrong with my dog when nobody even looked at her ?? Unbelievable ???? I will never bring my pets there again or recommend that business to anyone.

Alex Lively

Took my dog in when it was his time to go, all of the staff were incredibly understanding and professional. During such a difficult time they handleded things very delicately, and were nothing but sincere. It’s never an easy task when a pet goes but I’m glad I brought my dog here. I’d recommend this place to anyone; very impressed.

bre wynn

I'd give a zero if possible. Puts money over animal care. Especially in emergency instances.

Sulma Hayward

worst place ever that doctor doesn't care about people pets. He just wants the money.

Karen Marentette

Waiting during short staffing is hard but the care is worth the wait for my pet. They have taken good care of my pets here.

AquaTemp 8127

Great staff great people you can count on real good job

We brought in our little princess Maddy whom fell/jumped and hurt her nail... Dr Deluca and his assistant were so very good with her and everyone was very pleasant thank you so much for making such a traumatic experience for our little girl easier. Danielle Ferri &Rob Downes Essex ON

While I appreciate the 24hr service and the friendly and courteous staff what I can't forgive is the fact that they were more worried about getting paid then the welfare of the puppy stuck in his mother. Our French bulldog went into labor at 1:00 a.m. she had two puppies inside her I drove from wallaceburg to Windsor by the time I got the Windsor one puppy had come out but the other was still in mother and she went into rest. And then hours later went into labor pushed out the head of the puppy which then became stuck at the shoulders they called my wife and talked to her on the phone about 15 minutes about what was going on and how they wanted their money before they would start the c-section we paid the money but by that time the puppy had died I'm left wondering how long it took them to get to the phone to even call us before the 15 minutes wasted talking about what was going on and payment especially since we had driven there for the c-section so we were and had the money to pay for it it should have just been done instead of wasting time when the dog became stuck

Tina Chittle

The staff was very compassionate and accommodating. Our last moments were customized to our wishes and our goodbyes were not rushed.

Daniel Salive

Great service. *very* Expensive compared to other vets. But excellent service.

M. M.

My sister in-law took her dog their yesterday now the dog is dead in less then 12 hours. Dog was diagnosed with pyometra infection and had stopped eating for several days at this point. Even a new vet should know that this is an emergency and time is critical and home meds just won't cut it at this point. But she was charged for a bunch of test and sent home with meds. Shame on you!!! Your first oath is to do no harm and not to let animals suffer. With all the money you make, charging super inflated prices you should have more compassion. This poor dog suffered a slow painful death because of you. Beware of this place and do your own research. They are rushed and understaffed. Which results in your pet not getting the best care they should but they sure charge you for it. Again shame on you.

Andrew Jaimes

We went camping and my dog got an eye infection. Walker accepted to look at my dog while other 24/7 clinics in Windsor did not even answered the phone

Andrew Flanagan

Saved our 3 year old cat's life who was having urinary issues this week. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful. The bill was less than what I was initially quoted and expected to pay. Very thankful for this place.

Taha Abbas

Had the most bizarre experience with the vet and the staff there. All they care about is your money and how much you are willing to spend on them. They barely even diagnose your pet properly, and misguide you about the treatment that would be given to it. If you can't afford to spend $1000 for the treatment you would never get to know about, they will disrespect you and bluntly refuse even diagnosing your pet. A friend of mine (who's pet died) did not agree to pay $1200 for a treatment she was misguided about, so they went as far as reporting about her to the police for committing an act of animal cruelty. I would recommend everyone who love their pets, to boycott from going to this place.

Terry Soriano

My dog was pooping blood so right away we took him here. We got there at 11:10 pm they said they were busy only 3 rooms were being used. We sat and waited and watch people were coming out and no one being called to go in the room. It was now 1am still no vet and still waiting. We finally go called to go in the room at 3am. Still we sat there no vet it was 4am we left tired of waiting and still no vet. I will never go back there again its a waste of time. They tell you it will be a hour wait thats a lie empty rooms not filled and no one being called in. Dont waste your time see your own vet in the morning. I will NEVER go back.

Taylor Clark

I called to ask about a medication I was given for my Dog. I was told to “Google it”. Very professional group.

H C

How do these people sleep at night? They lied to me about my dog having parvo and racked up a 300$bill . Im a young student who barely has money to eat and i found a stray dog and the same day brought him here. They did a bunch of unnecessary tests and told me that he has parvo and he will die. I ended up sitting there for 3 4 hours and paid almost 400. That same dog today is %100 healthy and doing fine. They just saw a young kid whos a minority and took advantage of my kindness. Will never go back or recommend anyone to go here. I tried to do something nice that day and they made me regret it. Scammers.

Lucas West

Havent ever taken my dog here however we did take a stray here to be scanned for a chip and they were welcoming and provided informstion they could about the animal.

Peggy Laliberty

I have never seen such incompetent people. They have no people skills and I sat waiting for 3 hours but then they asked which pet is mine. They totally forgot about me. Wouldn't have them feed my animal let alone treat it. Never ever ever again. The most disgusting treatment I have ever witnessed. No idea how they stay in business.

Shelly Tomarchio

Our furbaby was having an emergency and the took us in right away early in the morning....they were very caring and helpful

Debra Marchand

terrible . waited 2 hours in our car then they assessed my dog and told me they would call me back in 4-8 hours. never called back so drove back the following day and waited 6 more hours before getting a vet to evaluate my dog

Saima Zaman

What a pathetic, inhumane, insensitive doctor. He doesn't have any respect to the pet owners nor animals. He doesnt only misguided me and provided me with wrong information and let my cat died without any guidance that i could have call humane society right away to save the cat's life. All he cares about it just $$$$ money money money, and if he cant make $1000, he will disrespect you and wont even take a look onto your pet. If you really love your pet i would not recommnd that you take your pets there. You will be spending all the money and losing your loved ones.

Lee Crowe

They never on time for their appointment. I booked a ultra sound and I was expected to wait in the parking lot until they are ready. After waiting for over 1/2 hour I left. They only care about the money.

Jessica Smith

Amazing. Even with being extremely busy they managed to keep me informed with everything that was going on with my dog. Not to mention my dog generally hates the vet but was comfortable enough and able to stay the night for some extra care. Just wonderful

Cory Fitch

They were amazing and very caring in a tough decision for our two 1day old puppies. They walked us through all options and helped us give the best care we all could provide. Tough decisions and all its nice to hear the vet sympathize with the situation and take you through the steps ❤

Leann Campbell

The compassion they have shown each time we have had to bring a pet in for an emergency was heart warming. Knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Catz H.

My diabetic dog was hypoglycemic after my vet was closed. I had a couple questions about dealing with it but they refused to advise since they'd never seen the dog, even after giving me advice over the phone a couple months ago. They said he'd have to come in. Had we driven from Amherstburg to their clinic I'm sure he'd be dead. We treated him successfully, but wow, thanks for the help......not.

Stella Beaulieu

We drove a distance to this vet clinic with our beloved dog bud bud eight different vets in the chatham kent area refused to see him they were all to busy they said. How appalling this was and upsetting. We found all the employees and the vet to be very compassionate, understanding and thorough unfortunately bud bud went to see God my only wish is that he is at Rainbow Bridge and that we could not have helped him sooner.

Kathi Alexander

Very caring at a very tough time. Great rates ????

Shane Letourneau

If your dog is sick leave it at the door....even if you have to put it down. No compassion. They use the covid excuse....follow protocol and you are safe. They are ridiculous

Isabel Jackson

Dr attending would not care for my African grey parrot and mine passed away 2days later he is for sure not an emergency vet as he advertises. Be ware of non caring vets only the money. WAlker RoadVet stay Away from

Mack

Great animal hospital, have been going here for years - they are extremely understanding and compassionate towards all animals. The doctors are very knowledgeable and are always looking towards the best interest of the owners and their pets. This vet hospital tends to be popular and busy. At their old location there were many times where it felt very crowded and the smell of animals was overwhelming. The new location, not too far from the old one - offers much more space. It does not feel crowded, and the airflow seems to be a lot better in the sense of keeping the smell of the dogs and cats away from the seating area up front by reception.

chris landon

Amazing service very kind in an emergency and didn't try to over charge at all amazing place and treated my dog with kindness

Susan Sena

Staff are very friendly knowledgeable and respond back to voicemails or calls in a timely manner. Also Dr Quinn is amazingly intelligent and always takes her time to explain everything that is very thorough and knowledgeable.

Andy Becze

Long waits even with appts. Staff courteous and caring. But delays stress animal and then the owner. The care is professional when administered

Jennifer Stirtzinger

Took my 2months old kitten to walker road animal hospital because he was vomiting. After multiple X-rays and 4 different vets looking at him. They told us they wanted to do surgery. We felt pressured into doing it and felt we had no other options but surgery. After spending 3000$ on vet bills we took our kitten home. We were looking at his stitches something didn’t look right, and something wasn’t right. They did not properly stitch our kitten back together. His stitches came undone spilling his intestines all over our bed. We rushed him to ambassador animal clinic who saved our baby. While ambassador was fixing our baby, they found something even more terrifying, his intestines were rotting, why? Because the vet at walker cut his intestines during the surgery, our kitten almost died because not only they did not properly stitch him together but they were looking for a foreign objevt in his stomach not cutting a part of his intestines. They messed up a surgery that almost cost us the life of our kitten but not only that I will never be able to un-see what I saw when his intestines fell out. And to top it all off, our kitten only has a small infection that needed to be treated by antibiotics not surgery!!!!! Maybe instead of forcing surgeries on innocent kittens they need to make sure they are properly performing surgeries and stitching animals properly. My vet bills for the second surgery was 2000$ bringing my total to 5000$ but amabassor animal clinic not only saved his life but cut the bill in half to 1000 and gave us 3 free visit to check on him. Ambassador is the best vet in Windsor. If you want your animal to live take them to amabassasor not walker

Angela Tocco

Took my dog in who was suffering from an ear infection and allergies. Vet and staff were very kind and took the time to explain my pups treatment plan. They were very patient with this anxious fur mom. Thank you...he is doing much better. ????♥️

JAY FREDERICK

I had to make the excruciating decision to put down my 13 year old rescue cat Ethel just after midnight this past Sunday. I wanted to be sure I was with her, and Dr. Deluca was SO much more than accommodating, and the girls who helped me with her were exemplary with their compassion and empathy for BOTH of us. Can't thank them enough for making this horrible situation just a little bit more bearable, but I hope I NEVER have to rely on them for THESE services again.

Cayla Renaud

Last night I rushed my dog in due to respiratory complications. Unfortunately she passed, but the experience I had here was absolutely remarkable. Within seconds of walking through the door vet techs knew my dog was in distress and had came rushing over and took my dog to the back straight away to work on her. The man at reception was quick and calm while asking me questions. A vet tech brought me and my family to the back and allowed us to see our dog. The female doctor, who I wish I knew her name, was so calm and professional. She explained what the issue was what was going to happen. she genuinely cared about my dog, my family and our feelings. The doctor talked to my dog while she was being put down and did it fast and gently. They allowed us time to see her afterward and talked about next steps. The entire staff was beyond amazing and caring. I’ve never experienced a group of people so efficient and kind. I highly recommend this clinic to everyone, I cannot thank them enough for helping us the best they could.

Zeina Gorgis

This location is sooooo busy, and yes there is a wait time but the staff are so friendly, helpful and full of support. Be good to them - they are under so much pressure.

Liandra M.

When I experienced a medical emergency with my young chihuahua poodle cross, I was directed to go here. Although I am from London, our only emergency clinic became referral only recently. This is now the closest 24 hour emergency hospital to my knowledge. When I called and explained the situation and was advised to bring him in, the were extremely friendly and professional. They called a twice during my drive to check in with me on how Bubby was and how close I was so I wouldn’t have to have him waiting in the car. Upon arrival they were friendly, and professional. Going in, I understood this was an emergency hospital and the wait may be long and the cost may be high. Knowing I had driven from London, they were very honest about the wait time and advised me to return home to wait. During his wait time we were in contact, with them updating me on how Bubby was doing. When it came time to discuss treatment and costs, the vet was very honest and upfront about both treatment options and costs. I opted for the thorough route to be sure of everything. When it was just over an hour before Bubby was ready to be picked up, they called me to notify me so I could begin my journey back to Windsor. All in all, 24 hour journey total, 8 hours of driving total, but the best treatment and service I could have asked for.

Anthony Aquino

Very professional. Every staff member was awesome. Our dog was observed by three different Vetenarians in his 24 he stay due to their shift and each one knew his whole history. They did not miss a beat when I would call for updates on the different shifts.

Bianka Grof

Unfortunately the wait times are quite long but the staff is helpful, friendly and courteous and they took care of our little pup. The clinic isn’t cheap nor were we expecting it to be; to be expected from a 24 hr clinic. The doctors were caring and always called us back to discuss the results (we unfortunately had to get follow up tests 4 days in a row) while letting us get her home as soon as possible. Overall a good experience and we’re grateful for the care our puppy received.

Alex Forbes

I’ve had multiple emergency situations with my animals, and until lately I had no clue how bad this clinic was. The customer service is BAD. Ive come at 9am, empty parking lot, and then had to wait almost an hour. While also having my animals symptoms lessened and minimized to me. “Your cat isn’t even an emergency” is not something you say to someone concerned for the welfare of their cat. I found the staff rude, I found them WAY overpriced and I found that the vet doesn’t care about anything other than the money. My cat was struck by a car, and they genuinely made me wait 30 minutes with blood coming from both ends of him. In this absolutely emergency situation, they still made us wait. They looked at him, told me “he seems to be hurt. It will be $900 to test him and see what’s wrong, or you can put him down”. I didn’t have that much, and after how long they took, I couldn’t stand my poor baby in pain anymore so we had to put him down. But I have heard so many horror stories of this awful, overpriced place!! PLEASE PLEASE TAKE YOUR ANIMALS ANYWHERE ELSE. THIS IS THE WORST POSSIBLE CLINIC IN WINDSOR!!!!!

Mariann Meszaros

We had a very sick feral cat living on our porch that we took to this clinic.Unfortunately He had to be euthanized. The staff and the doctor was very professional and straightforward. I can only recommend this clinic. They kept us informed and we didn't have to wait long.

Yara Sakhrya

They care about the money more than welfare of pets

Suzanne Sartor

I was very disappointed after 8hrs she never moved up the list, we ended up taking her to Lauzon which was much better service all the way around.

Jessica Coe

I had my bunny Pietro neutered here, they took really good care of him, and even texted me updates. He's not the easiest patient to work with so I really appreciate the special care they gave him ????

Jeffrey Yemen

Not a good experience going here. I would just say for anyone having a pet emergency, wait to see your regular vet. It is pretty obvious to me they are just looking to charge you money. Be very careful if you bring your pet there because they will most likely just try to bill you as much as they possibly can. Instead, go somewhere else and get your pet the support they need for a reasonable price. This place is very highly overpriced and not all that helpful.

David and Lorraine Gourley

Our dog Gibson had a burr inside his ear. The friendliness of the upfront staff, with the efficiency of the techs has us considering changing vet services. Didn't realize they offered regular vet services as well

Susan Wickens

Hate this place! Poor service, my dog was injured coming in the door as it slams shut. My Shepard bled all over the waiting room, as no one jumped to see the damage. We stayed like that till we got called in for our appointment. Then they charged me $30 for the bandages. My dogs tail got split open about four inches, they didn't care at all. Money grab here at this hospital ????

Lina

DO NOT BRONG YOUR PET HERE. The Dr is completely incompetent and will make your pet suffer. Brought my cat in with a non-life threatening issue to only to have them charge me one thousand and dollars, promise all the care in the world and do nothing. My cat was not even given its antibiotics and the doctor could not diagnose. I fought to take my cat back and went to another clinic, the doctor there was able to diagnose in 10 minutes but it was too late. Unless you want to spend thousands of dollars and have a dead pet don’t come here. They do not care about your pet and do not provide immediate care.

Alajiah Bell

Had to take my cat in on boxing day for an emergency. All staff were incredibly kind, patient and caring. Although I wasn't able to go in the hospital with my pet due to the lockdown, the staff would go in and check up on him anytime I called. I really felt that my cat was in good hands, and that the staff did everything they could to make him healthy and comfortable.

Cindy Higgins

Their service is great, they took in my dog as soon as possible when my dog had seizures! Great care, very busy, may have to wait a while because its a very busy place!

Margaret Rainville

The wait was horrible was the first patient for walk in clinic and ended up being the last one seen plus vet was terrible saw him tell an elderly couple in front of everyone that it could be cancer instead of taking them to a private room they were very upset, when I finally got to see him that was the first thing out of his mouth without even testing or actually looking at my cats ear, I went after him for that. Would never trust this clinic for anything.

Leah-ann Bessey

Was a bit of a wait when we first brought our dog in due to his having swallowed a large piece of rubber. Many other emergencies were taking place and they had to triage which I'm grateful for. When they finally got to my dog they did appropriate imaging and then took the necessary steps to save my dog's life. It was a very stressful situation as he had to have surgery and had difficulty afterwards. They kept me apprised at all times of both my dogs condition and the costs. Thank you all so very much for all you did for my pooch

Rebecca Steptoe

These people saved my cats life. About a week (Feb 2) before we had to take her here, I had taken her to the vet for loss of balance and head tilting. My regular vet wasn't available so I took her to downtown veterinary clinic. Big mistake. The vet I saw was very flippant with me and didn't do more then glance in her ears, did some blood work and told me she was fine. Over this last week she lost her appetite, her mobility worsened, she would crawl everywhere and even then she was still falling over. At this point I decided to wait till the morning and contact my regular vet to make an appointment. My emergency occurred when Wednesday night (Feb 9) she fell off of her cat house. She was in pain and could not use her front legs at all. She was so weak and so pitiful. When I took her to walker I was in tears, it was 1am and the staff were so amazing. I wish I could remember the name of the vet who was looking after my cat. She was so amazing, she called to update me frequently throughout the night, and was so patient with my 10 thousand questions. After a few hours she diagnosed my cat with an inner ear infection. I got antibiotics and some other meds and took my cat home. Shes doing so much better after only a few days. Shes eating and has regained some of her mobility. Shes getting better every day and I'm so thankful. I can't lie, it is more expensive than taking your pet to a regular vet, but if I would pay triple for my cat. If your pet is experiencing an emergency there is no other place I'd recommend. Thank you so much for looking after my Loki.

Dave Dresser

I walked in wirh my dog quite sick! Did not know what was wrong as it had seemed so sudden. They took him from me right away and straight to the back. They begin treatment blood work xrays etc. Came to see me to go over options. Tried a procedure however lost him. Came and asked me about CPR however explained by xrays wasnt sure if they could save him. Told me best for him was euthanasia. So they prepared him while he still had breathing tube in. So he could see me walk in an call his name and hold him prior to him being put to sleep they waited for my direction. Afterwards they wrapped him in a big towel and put us in a room told us to take as long as we needed. When done they came in and went over all the arrangements for him so I could get him back. Amazing Team there the early morning to help me!

Erin Chapman

The staff is very kind and wonderful to deal with. The Doctor was very thorough with explaining the condition of our furbaby and what to expect.

*Avoid this place like the plague. There's a reason why so many pets die here.* They only care about money & won't even attempt to contact you until it's time to collect $$$. Their excuse is always not having enough staff (clearly management issue, they make it your problem). Staff don't communicate with eachother or know what's going on. They will make your pet suffer for days without any care whatsoever. Just look at the reviews on here, there's a patterns. They couldn't get to my pet because they had so many pets dying/dead. Price gouging clients to over 700%, will take advantage of vulnerable people and make you give an immediate answer so you can't get normal prices from another vet. I regret not reading the reviews beforehand, beware. I would have just went to Lauzon.

Wanda Smith

Yesterday we had to take our 11 year old chihuahua Rolex as he was having a difficult time breathing, his heart beat was 240, he stopped eating and drinking. he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. My husband and I thank Dr. D Watkin, technician Chelsea and the staff for the exceptional service and care, we were kept informed, we are incredibly grateful for the professionalism and compassion that was given. Rolex is recuperating since he was given his diuretic injection and medication. Thank you all so much

Marcel Carvallo

Very professional staff. They took the proper time to accurately diagnose my cat. This reduced his recovery time and saved me some money.

Mari Schaafsma

I felt good with the welcoming staff. But when I received the call from the doctor, I felt it was for upsell and not for the well being of our furry family member. Went in with what we said it was a possible congested cold. Stuffy and not eating. Came home (2 days later) with medication for ulcer on his tongue. We had to take him 2 days later, back because he was turning for the worse. When the other doctor called the second time, she did not mention or see any ulcers. But they wanted another $500 for xrays and blood work ( to check for cancer). Pulled him from there. Took him to our vet. New medication, and by the next day he was back to himself. Only spent $145. Our vet never asked for xray or blood work.

I believe most of the vets are great at what they do. Sadly I'm extremely disturbed at how the front operates (lack there of) I now have very different views/opinions of this place.

Chris Chevalier

They were very helpful professional and friendly first time there I will be going back if I needed too I very pleased with there services I highly recommend them

If you have a guinea pig, you have come to the right place!! I have tried many Vets and have not been satisfied till I saw Dr. Horseman. She is a 5 star vet for sure!! She truely cares about what is in the best interest of your pet, not just trying to make a dollar on your sympathies. She is truely careing and very knowledgeable about guinea pigs... it is VERY hard to find a Vet in Windsor who can give good care to guineas. I am SO grateful that I found her. The entire staff at this hospital were/are careing and proficient. I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone at Walker Rd. Animal Hospital...

This is the second time I have come to this hospital. I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism that I experienced during both visits. The staff and service is like being with family. The pricing is fair and reasonable .

Madison Moore

Never physically went in, but gave them a call at 1am for a professional opinion. Very calming and knowledgeable. Thank you!

Lindsay Dahl

Love this vet. Dr Jan and her team are super kind and helpful with my dog who has to wear a brace on his left front paw all the time.

Jen Wood

Extremely kind staff they helped us say goodbye to our fur baby in a very kind respectful manner. So very understanding and kind

Adam Redmile

The staff is super friendly and amazing. Even though my pup can be a monster they are always so gentle and helpful!!!

Kayla Murphy

Very kind and compassionate, I've had to put down both of my cats over the past year and the staff has always been over the top empathetic. A bit pricy after hours but it's worth being treated like a human and not rushed into decisions.

We brought our 4 year old Bombay cat here after noticing blood in her urine. We were certain it was a UTI. As she showed no pain and was still her normal self. We had Dr. Kaye who gave her a shot that would last for two weeks. At first it was getting better then started up again. We brought her back and a had different Dr. Watkin great sense of humor and very knowledgeable. He gave her another shot and encouraged us to switch food that is for UTIs. We were both very happy with the service both times we went. The entire staff is friendly and truly cares about their pet clients. Our cat can be nervous around people she doesn't know, but was comfortable with everyone there. They even said she was one of the most well behaved cats they have had. Thank you to both drs, vet tech, Jordan, and any of the other staff we spoke to!! I highly recommend Walker Road Animal Hospital.

We brought our cat here just over a year ago after he was struck by a car. It was midday and it was a Sunday. Right away he was taken to the back and given painkillers. The doctor took us into a private room and asked us permission to take x-rays and run tests. Knowing medical care is expensive, I appreciated this step. We waited some more and he came back to us with the results. He explained to us all the possible next steps and costs associated so we could make an informed. He did not pressure us into making a decision right there. He let us see our kitty before we left him at the hospital for the evening. Staff at the hospital was great too. They forwarded his x-rays to another vet for a second opinion (not that the doctor was not to be trusted, but would you not want a second opinion for your beloved family member?) They even took my phone call late at night because I wanted to check in on my little boy. He was discharged the next day, but they wanted to do some follow up care. It was very comforting knowing that the people at the animal clinic cared for our cat as much as we did. Yes, we waited for about 4 hours at the clinic that Sunday, but if our cat was a human we would have waited hours in the ER too. And yes it was costly (actually, I thought my bill was going to be bigger for all the tests the little guy had done), but don't forget, our human visits to the ER would be too if it weren't for OHIP. Thanks to the emergency care our cat received, he has made a full recovery.

Wouldn't do any work on my dog until everything was paid in full with a credit card over the phone, would not take cash or any kind of payment plan(fine). After giving them my credit card number and paying over the phone I came clear across the city to pick up my dog the next day just to find out they wanted my credit card number again and that I would have to go back across the city to get the credit card number from home(since they dont take cash) before they would release him to me. Would be nice if they had enough sense to tell me they needed the card number again before having me drive across the city and wait in the parking lot to pick him up. Definitely a fault on their behalf since I already gave them my card number and a huge waste of my time and gas but they showed no sympathy with no apology. Very expensive

Pranav Jain

Always go here to pick up medical food for my cat - quick responses and easy curbside pick up.

I have been bringing my dog here for 5 years and and also my 6 month old puppy. I have never had a problem in the past i no that covid19 has changed things i understand that but when my puppy still needs his second shots because it keeps being cancelled is not acceptable from an animal hospital. I called today to make an appointment for next week as things are begining to reopen i was told no we cant make an appointment i also mentioned how my puppy has a bad ear infection. The lady was no help and said that they cant take him there is no reason for this we can bring the dog in wait in the car pay with credit card over the phone like eveywhere else is doing. I will not be back to this animal hospital ever and make sure everyone knows about how you handled this situation

Keith Postma

I paid $800 for three stitches in my dog's paw I thought that was outrageous. They put my dog's paw in an inner Venus bag. She was slipping all over the snow and ice and could hardly walk. I had a friend sew me up a sock so she can walk. I was given medication and it said to take with food I gave it to her with food and she threw up all over my carpet it took over an hour to clean it up. When I went to make an appointment to get the stitches out they said they're not making appointments it's first come first serve appointment mean while we were in the red zone

Isabelle Scarapicchia

I brought my dog to this animal hospital because it was late at night and his regular family doctor was closed. The vet techs were phenomenal and took my dog right away as he was considered more "emergent" than other cases due to him have 3+ seizures within 24 hours. He also had ingested grapes which are very toxic therefore they made the impression that they were very concerned and told us to bring him in immediately! Our dog was admitted at 10pm and the doctor did not see him until 6am the next day. Considering how concerned they all were, you'd think they would see him right away. Despite the wait, the doctor didn't have much to offer and said that just for blood work it would be $400, meanwhile at his family doctor they charge $150. I ended up withdrawing care from this hospital and told her right away this was a rip off, this place robs you blind. Just to have the doctor "examine" him it was $100 total, not to mention they failed to find the FIVE TICKS that his family vet found within the first couples minutes of the examination/visit! To sum up, I do not recommend this place unless it is an emergency and all other options are closed.

I brought in my little hedgehog late at night for difficulty breathing. Dr Pelka saw him even though small mammals are not her area of expertise. He was immediately taken to the back and given oxygen and assessed. Dr Horsman saw him the next morning and did an xray and a sampling of the tumour that developed near his neck. Unfortunately due to the size of the tumour and the rapid progression, I had to bring him back to have him euthanized the next day. Dr Pelka didnt charge me for her initial exam, and they refunded me $160 for the cost of the tumour biopsy since he passed away before they had time to process it. I feel like they truly care more about the animals than the money. The entire staff showed us such kindness and compassion, I'm forever grateful to all of them for making the passing of my sweet little man easier for me. I've adopted another hedgehog and plan on bringing her to Walker Road Animal Hospital for all of her care.

On October 26, 2019 our wonderful 8 year old, 175 lb. St. Bernard, Commander, who was diagnosed in August with an Oral Osteosarcoma; a nasty & rapid growing cancer, left for the Rainbow Bridge. Commander did better than expected until October 26th when he started bleeding orally to the point of hemorrhaging. We rushed him to Walker Road Animal Hospital knowing that it would be his last trip in the van and that we would have to set him free. EVERYONE who attended to Commander was MARVELOUS. They treated him with instant love, respect, kindness and compassion and they were WONDERFUL to me as well. This is the second time we had to rush one of our Saints to Walker Road Animal Hospital to be set free and both times everyone who was involved touched my heart so deeply for they showed these wonderful furry family members so much love and tenderness. I would HIGHLY recommend this hospital to anyone, especially if they had to set their loved one free, because the members of this hospital will give you time with your loved one both before and after they have been set free. I can only speak of how they treated Dakota and Commander as we live far from the Hospital and our regular Vet is just down the street from us, walking distance actually, but my heart tells me that emergency or non-emergency the members of this hospital treats animals with genuine care, compassion and dedication.

Never going here again almost 20 hours later my animal still not looked at.. ended up taking her to lauzon vets within 30 minutes the vet was checking her out.

I had an emergency with my chihuahua Ben last night and I was terrified he was hurt! These folks rushed us in immediately and took such wonderful care of him. I’m still singing their praises today! The tech who called to update me was an absolute angel. These folks CARE. What a breath of fresh air to be able to trust your most precious babies to people you can have faith in. THANK YOU to all the staff last night. You guys are simply incredible ❤️

Kris Ives

Great service, caring staff, and affordable after hours emergency care for our pup.

A couple of years ago, I had to rush my Rott in due to gastric torsion. Dr.Kaye was the 1/st Vet to examine her. He had smiled at my self diagnosis, but knew I was correct. He gave me a guesstimate for surgery, which I signed without batting an eye. When I was leaving, I approached the reception desk to make a deposit, when I was informed it wasn't necessary. Later, that evening, the clinic called, saying she could go home. When I arrived, Dr. DeLuca told me her stomach had righted itself. He advised me to consider gastroplexy at my regular Vet, so it would not happen again. He also informed me to keep an eye on her blood work, as he was concerned about her reds. Thank you so much for your care and compassion.

My not so intelligent, but oh so loveable dog, decided to eat a hot chocolate bomb on boxing day around 10 at night while I was gone for about 1/2hour. I called walker rd aninal hospital, and they had me bring her in right away, and she was taken in for exam about an hour after I called, and had gotten permission to induce vomiting shortly after. They were all very supportive, and explained what to look out for.

Teresa Lewin-Bessette

When Vets were not taking patients this emerg took them all on. Mind you the wait time is difficult so best to go home and wait. They saved my dogs life. He was in bad shape when i brought him in. Then my puppy got a bad UTI, because its has been so wet outdoors, even to give bathroom breaks. Again the staff rallied around and got him to the point of recovery! Then my other older puppy became ill! Geez! All had different issues! Again the staff at this Emerg stepped up! All this between other horrible emergencies. I now have a regular Vet and Im thrilled. I cant thank this hospital enough or its Doctors and techs of animal science. Teresa Bessette

Awful vets don't recommend unless you want to spend an arm and a leg, exam fees start at $125 witch is insane they have a terrible wait time I brought my girl in at 3 am and she wasn't seen by a vet until 5:30 and they did nothing other than test her blood sugars for $189 witch is insane do not recommend these vets to anyone ever!

Debra Beauparlant

The were very empathetic and kind when we had to put our senior cat down during COVID-19 and we couldn't go in with our pet. They did the very best they could in a difficult situation for us.

David Pavao

Please save my baby

Jennifer Patterson

They were very thorough and kind toward both my cat and I. They didn't try to force the pricey solutions, instead allowed me time to make a decision on what I felt was best for my cat and didn't judge. I felt my cat was very taken care of in a low-stress environment and will definitely bring him back in the future!

Brian Cassidy

Wouldn't recommend Walker Road Animal Hospital. Probably the least compassionate, most expensive, and worst Vet I've ever been to. If you want to see the saddest most depressing place on the planet go to their parking lot. Their Covid rules are also the most outrageous, over the top nonsense you've ever heard. I'd rather get involuntarily an tooth extraction then deal with this clinic again.

Nicole Biloski

Went in with a friend who had a potential overdose with the dog as he got into meds. No one came out and to check the dog's vitals. when's that was going over the poison control report one of the side effects could be tachycardia. The that NEVER even put his hands on the dog. Another side effect could be high or low temperatures. Again the vet NEVER put his hands on the dog. I would like to know how of that can possibly even consider taking a dog's temperature or telling if the heart is racing when you never even touched the dog. Dehydration was another possible side effect he never texts for that. He wanted my friends to leave the dog overnight I had absolutely no faith in his ability to watch the dog as he had never examined the dog.

Katrina Romanowski

Very caring, understanding, and supportive staff. Genuinely want to help you and take care of your fur babies in their time of need.

Carolyn Crankshaw

Staff weee awesome and made me feel at ease during emergency with my pup.

Sharon Baillargeon

We had to take our 18 year old cat to be euthanized. Our vet is not open on Sunday but their voice mail recommended Walker Road Animal Hospital. We live in the county so I called to inform them that we would be bringing Lola in. We had to wait 90 minutes to see the vet. It was absolute torture and we were very upset as the entire process took about 30 seconds. The clinic was not busy but we were told that the vet was busy. I asked if the vet tech could assist us as we were very emotional and trying to keep Lola comfortable. We were told that the vet had to be present. The tech did insert that the needle for the port and then the vet came in with the injection. Once again this took 30 seconds. I will never go back to this clinic as I think it was inhumane to make us wait an hour and a half to euthanize a pet that we have loved for over 18 years.

Jessica Matti

Took my puppy in last night because she had a bad reaction to her vaccines. They were very busy but still took my puppy in right when I got there. The doctor was so helpful and caring. This place is open 24/7 and I’m so thankful for the essential workers working here during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also a great price after getting bloodwork and antibiotics. The cheapest vet visit I’ve ever been to.

Brandon Thompson

We were referred by another vet this office works closely with and were not disappointed. The staff was very positive and supportive when we were very distressed about our cats weight loss. Everyone was extremely kind and there was 0 wait time. Our little buddy received a diagnosis and they were able to schedule a follow up appointment first thing the next day after the blood work. Great job to the entire group! We are all 3 very grateful.

Amanda Geisler

Last night I brought my cat here, and unfortunately had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to her. The staff of this vet were kind, caring and compassionate. Due to Covid, I had to drop her off and wait in the car. The Dr. that was taking care of her called and was very professional and kind, and explained in great detail what they saw in her testing, what that means, and was candid about the costs and potential outcomes of my potential options. They did not rush us to make any decisions, and were incredibly understanding and caring. I truly believe they gave my sweet girl the best end of life care. They allowed her to come back out to my car so the family and I could say our last goodbyes and give her some final cuddles and comfort. I would recommend this vet to anyone in a heartbeat.

Samantha Tinus

Very pleased with our service today! Although it was a long wait for us, we realize that the animals are seen on a triage basis and worse conditions would be seen first. That being said, the receptionist, Jordyn, called us with an update on how our cat was doing while we waited and that he was next to be seen by the doctor. After he was seen, the doctor called us and explained the issue and provided us with options and allowed us to choose what we thought was best. Within 5 minutes of finishing with the doctor we had our furry friend in hand ready to go home. Also very impressed that we were not surprised with a huge bill and was clear that it was just an exam for the visit. Wish I could remember the doctors name but overall very pleased.

Sandy Delaurier

I have been waiting since 11am, it's now 2. They said my cat would be next but then took two other patients. Finally got into an exam room and waited 45 minutes in there. The Doctor came in an apologized for the wait took a quick exam, left the room to get a form for me to sign permitting them to sedate my cat so they can look at the wound, she left again to get the sedation. It's been a half hour and she still isn't back. Why didnt she bring the sedation needle with the form is beyond me!! I am honestly finding this place to be very unorganized.
