I can't tell you how thankful I am for this vet! They saved my dogs life. I was going to another vet and they looked at my dog and said it was just an infection and some antibiotics will fix it. My dog had the medicine and was suppose to be fine. I went to the vet for my dog again and was told more medicine. I got fed up and went to ambassador and the vet there actually checked my dog and found out that her bladder was distended and full of huge rock sized stones and needed an emergency surgery to fix her. Now ambassador keeps checking on my dog and making sure the stones dont come back and after her surgery they called to see how she was healing. This vet cares about your animals and does a great job at it. Overall very happy with the staff and everyone there. I would highly recommend this vet to everyone and will!

I would like to mention a certain Dr. Anna Sekhon in this review and thank her for her exemplary efforts to save my cat Dora who was suffering from a stomach tumour. To be honest, I had given up all hopes to help her but she stood by me through this difficult time and strengthened my hope and faith during her post-op recovery. Thank you so much doctor! I feel very lucky to have met you when I did.

The staff at Ambassador Animal Hospital are so sweet and care so much about every animal that comes in. They took such good care of my little puppy when she had a reaction to one of her booster shots, they even stayed open late for us and called us the next day to make sure she was feeling better. They did a fantastic job when she was spayed as well, and its healing fast. They answer all of my millions of questions and put my worries to rest. I wouldnt trust any other Vets or Techs with my puppy. I love them!! =)

I'm grateful for the Ambassador Animal Hospital being in our Bridge View Community, I take my dog, D Red Wing there & The Dr is Professional & helpful & honest.I also take the wild outdoor cats there & the Dr helps me with the costs of taking care of them & his services when the cats are very sick My Doberman D Red Wing, got Cancer in her hind leg we had to have it amputated he done such a wonderful job the stitches healed perfectly she 9 years old after two months she doing well The Assistant are very helpful. I took my cat here when he was having bladder issues. After spending hundreds of dollars on tests that the female vet told me were necessary or he could end up severely ill, I ended up having to take him to the emergency vet not long after. I was told the tests that were run were not at all necessary. I spent less than a 1/3 for the emergency clinic and my cat hasn't had issues since. I also tried to purchase cat food here. They charged my card and when I got to the clinic I was told they made a mistake and didn't have the food. This clinic stole 122$ from me since they didn't refund me. I now have a "credit" to this place that I want nothing to do with. I will absolutely never be back to this clinic that scares clients into spending money and steals from them.

I give them a 3 star review only. 1star for politeness- 1star for adhering to the Covid mask and distancing and 1star for cleanliness. Nothing worse then going to have You family member assessed and not getting and answer. They charged me for an exray (if that was it it would be ok) BUT I got charged to set up the exray then to take the exray then to read the exray WTH IS THIS. I'm surprised they didn't charge me to clean the exray and to smile at the exray. So 300$ for exray Dr appt and a antibiotics shot, which didn't work I might add. So really not impressed with them at all.

I've taken my cat (a Maine Coon) here twice now for a groom - the first time for a bath and trim and the second time for a full groom and lion -cut. He looks amazing! When I drop him off and when pick him up he looks totally comfortable. He is so happy with his cut - he is like a kitten again. I'm so happy that we found a cat groomer that is very gentle, caring and talented. The vet techs/front desk attendants are very sweet and take him in right away - no wait. Thank you guys!!

This is a hard review to write. I had been feeding an outdoor cat for a few years. She was semi-feral and may have been an indoor cat at some point, so we brought her inside for the winter. During this time we bonded and when we let her out when it was warm enough, she became our outdoor companion, a fixture in our backyard. She seemed happy and grateful, whenever we went out, she was there to greet us. In late November, we brought her inside again and I took her to the vet. She had a small open wound that refused to heal, so I wanted it to be looked at. They shaved the area and noticed there was a lump and it had ulcerated, so they recommended surgery to remove it and test it for cancer. It really freaked me out that this could be cancer, so I tried to book an appointment as soon as I could. The day of the surgery I was told the blood test was fine and didn’t show signs of infection. She was good to go for surgery, but first they would do an X-ray. I went home and two hours later I received a phone call from the vet saying her heart stopped from the anaesthetic. This was utterly devastating for us and we’re still trying to get over it. The guilt has been overwhelming; I was trying to help her and in the end I did the exact opposite. The first few nights after this happened, I could hardly sleep, and I cried a lot. Weeks later, and I still spend a lot of time thinking about how I should have done things differently. The result might have been the same, but maybe not. And if I had done nothing, she would still be here. We were really looking forward to having her inside again for the Winter and we miss her terribly. I’m not entirely sure what happened, or the sequence of events. It was explained to me that day, but I was in a state of shock and all I can remember was that she may have had a heart problem or underlying condition no one was aware of, and that while rare, these things can happen with anaesthetics. When I called back to get an explanation of what had happened, the doctor was in a rush because she was going to go into surgery, but her explanation was very technical. I still don’t really understand, but I spoke to another vet and two vet techs to try to get some clarification. They seem to think that surgery was the right call, but I do wonder if I had taken her elsewhere, if things could have turned out differently. My understanding is that she was sedated so she could be x-rayed. The process of x-raying takes about 10 minutes and she was being prepped for being given the anaesthetic when her heart stopped. So I don’t think she was given the Isoflow and oxygen yet, I think. She wasn’t hooked up to the machinery yet that would have monitored her, but was being monitored manually. This means her temperature and blood pressure was unknown and her heart was only being check with a stethoscope. This means that the sedative made her heart stop, I think. But this makes me wonder if someone was actually with her the whole time keeping an eye on her. They had three other surgeries that day and maybe they didn’t have enough people to watch over all the patients. I don’t know what happened since I wasn’t there, and I don’t even know if I am explaining it correctly. But I do wonder if I had taken her to another vet if she would be alive now. I now think I should have got another opinion and looked into alternatives to surgery or done more tests before surgery. I now know there is a geriatric blood test that shows more information. Another vet might have paid better attention, or used different drugs or methods, which could have made a difference. They might have suggested more tests first or tried something other than surgery first. Maybe it’s unfair to give a one star review, but I’m not going to be giving high praise here. The one star review also applies to myself because I should have done things differently. Ultimately, hindsight is 20/20 and I can’t do anything to change the past. All I know is that my cat trusted me, and her trust in me killed her, and I can’t shake this guilt and sadness.

A truly wonderful and caring staff make this a 5 star Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Paul and Dr. Anna are kind, knowledgeable and professional. Recently my cat was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid and developed a severe allergy to the sole medication. Dr. Paul recommended having a part of the thyroid removed, had researched all the possible outcomes, answered ALL of my many questions with patience (thank you) and thouroghness. Dr. Paul and Dr. Anna have my full confidence. The procedure went amazingly, my cat is back to his old self, his weight coming back on. His recovery was surprisingly easy and brief. Honestly, this is the best outcome, as I do not have to worry about pills every day or what their side effects would be over time. I would highly recommend this procedure to any other cat owner with this issue, even without the medication allergy. Thank you again to Dr. Anna, Dr. Paul, Lauren and the rest of the wonderful staff. Their expertise and caring make Ambassador the best animal hospital!!!

Both my cats have had surgery here over the last couple of years. The first one had a bowel obstruction and I called around to see how much it would cost for the surgery. Ambassador had the best price and great reviews online, so I went with them. It was the male vet who saw my cat that time and he was great. After looking at her xray and seeing she had a fever, he decided that she needed surgery ASAP instead of the next day as previously planned over the phone. Surgery was done same day at no extra cost for the urgent situation. This week my other cat (a 24.5 lbs senior) had surgery to remove a large "timbit" sized lump from his shoulder. The female vet took care of him and he is doing great so far (surgery was just yesterday). I never felt pressured to spend more money on other things as others have claimed. They did offer to send the lump to the lab for analysis but when I declined - he's 13 years old and won't be having any more surgery regardless of the results - they were great about it. Thank you to all the staff that helped take care of my McLovin' yesterday!

I have been with this hospital for quite a few years as it was recommended by a few of their patients. I was absolutely nervous of taking my pets just anywhere from bad past happenings elsewhere........ I mean my dog is my life.....I absolutely love my dog and cats like my own kids. I can only tell you how relaxing it is to talk to people who are informative of procedures and time lines of what to expect. I have an operation booked for my baby girl xena. My poor cat had been having some major bloody urination issues, was losing weight fast, and just seemed generally in pain and miserable. Had taken him to a vet in Toronto, who was no help and decided to "monitor the situation" after giving me antibiotics, and telling me they wouldn't help... The vet here noticed the tender abdomen, suggested an xray (just one- he didn't want to charge me any more than he had to, very reasonable!) and found my cat had bladder stones. One operation later, and he's so much better. The staff here were caring and so gentle, and also very aware of my situation as a broke university student. Really, just a comforting place.

My sister had a appointment for her puppy Lilo today at 10:15AM(15-07-2020). We showed up and the door had a CoVid19 policy that was not advised to us in advance when we called initially to book the appointment. I turned to my sister and was like this is unorganized and she said “ what” & I responded saying this is unorganized and then she said to me “ No.. well it should have been told to you” ... (Horrible customer service) The receptionist this day and time could not find the registration form to even begin to take down our info and the way she talked was unprofessional. I don’t know if she was a student or someone new or who had no idea what they were doing but she should have took initiative and tried to help. She put us on hold for a while and hung up. We were upset and not comfortable just giving our puppy to anyone we haven’t met especially the fact this was my sisters first appointment with her first new puppy. Went somewhere else. I will be calling later to even express how upset we are. My sister is a RN and she took this time to make the time for this appointment. The staff at Ambassador are absolutely wonderful! Their prices are reasonable, and they truly care. They always ask after the health of your animal's when they see you. When my dog had to have emergency surgery, they were kind, compassionate and accommodating. They provided an environment where my dog could be comfortable while he was unwell and did everything possible to help him heal. after the surgery he had complication's with the sutures and every time I called I felt embarrassed and that they would get frustrated with me but they never did. Any time I called they were kind, patient and helpful. I am so grateful for the staff at Ambassador. I would never dream of trusting anyone else with my pet's every again. If you want your someone who will take care of you animal as if it were their own, then go see them! You won't regret it.

Honesty Is the best policy

Every vet I've been to in Windsor has only cared about the money (Lauzon, Walker, etc). Ambassador separates themselves. They are kind, knowledgeable and fair. When I was calling to find out if my dogs symptoms were something to worry about Ambassador was the only vet who would answer my question over the phone, and gave me advice on what to do at home, without me bringing my animal in for the vet fee. They are always trying to do the best for your pet without breaking your bank..I've been to many vets, ambassador is the only vet I trust with my loving companions! As long as it stays this way, I'll never go elsewhere!????????????????

Went with a friend who's dog was hurt. They were very nice but I think places need to have something in place for payment. Soemtimes.people dont have 100s of dollars to spend at the vet and that's why so many people dont bring their animals in. When someone does and they say they cant afford 100s up front... maybe a payment planner soemthing would be nice.

I have lots all respect for this practice. No TPR done, I had to ask the vet to listen to my cats heart as he was having a hard time breathing. We had to wait for the doctor to come in and my cat was laying on the floor struggling to breath. When we arrived 15min early I told the girl and he respons was doctors are having lunch and we have to wait. When the vet finally arrived I had to tell him to listen to his heart. He said he didn't hear any fluid on his chest. But after x-rays it showed his lungs were full. I asked for his chest to be tapped to remove the fluid and help him breath. He advised that he didn't have the staff to do it(it takes 15 minutes the cat is not sedated for it) and to go to emergency. He said that my cat would have to be on oxygen after the fluid removal. This is incorrect and a money grab by the vets. When the fluid is removed the animal starts breathing better right away and has no need for oxygen tank. I could not believe that he wasn't willing to help my struggling cat who was fighting for his breath. I spoke with him the day before and explained that my cat may need a chest tap or abdominal tap. He never said he couldn't do it. I would of gone somewhere else right away. I couldn't watch my baby suffering like this so I ended up letting him go. I'm not even sure if he would of made the drive to emergency. I should of picked a better vet who wants to fight and save animals not just watch them suffer and then just make money for the euthanasia. Where is your compassion. You have lost my respect and business.

First off I only rated them 1 star because that was my only option to write this review. I absolutely DO NOT recommend this vet to anyone who loves their pet. I had taken my little dog in there was something wrong with his foot. Vet tech informed me my dog was in pain but basically nothing to be concerned about. After a few days clearly I could see no change in my dog. He was still walking on three legs. So I brought him to another vet. Only to find out that if I had waited much longer he would then have to have had his foot amputated. I also found out that my dog has a heart murmur. The new vet was surprised I hadn't been told about it before now. As far as I'm concerned Ambassador vet's staff is incompetent. So please if you love your pet as much as I love mine take th elsewhere.

I drove an hour to Windsor to see this vet because my current vet told me my kitten's eye needed to be taken out due to it being damaged behond repair (the kitten had a scratch on his eyeball which got infected. They gave me steroid drops for his eye which caused the kitten pain and damage to his eye. They did not thoroughly check to see if his eye was scratched before prescribing the drops). The vet's at ambassador were excellent!! They treated my kitten's eye and managed to save the eye. If it weren't for them my kitten would have had to undergo an unnecessary costly surgery. They are now my vet's and I'm so thankful. The drive is worth it for the best care!

Absolutely the best hands down. He saved my jack russel when everyone else threw their hands in the air and wrote him off and couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He did other tests to find the problem and put him on the path to health. 10 years later he's still with me. When my greyhound had bone cancer, it was Paul who came to my house when it was time to send her on her final journey. The compassion of Paul and the entire staff is amazing. They call the next day after a visit and ask how your furry family member is. He answers your questions and explains things in a way you can easily understand. He doesn't do anything that will cost you extra. I won't take my furry kids anywhere else. I've already found the best.

Before this time, I would give this hospital 5 stars. When something happened to my cats, I would like to bring the picture to ask them first, it's easier for me. I don't want to bring my cats and then nothing happens. It's hard for me to take them outside. They were patient and they were not like other hospitals: We cannot see from the picture, you have to bring your cat here. They are not mean to just earn money. However, this time, I was soooooooooooooooooooooo disappointed. I booked appointment for check one of my cat's ear but I brought two cats there. When the doctor checked her ear, she was not gentle at all!!! When she put the inspection magnifier in her ear and used the tissue to wipe her dirty things in her ear, she used too much strength. My cat's ear was bleeding. My cats are like my kids, I don't want they get a little hurt, why she could do this? Couldn't she make things more gentle? After everything was done, she saw my the other cat, and then she asked my, do you want me to check that cat? I asked her is that extra charge? She said yes. I didn't tell the nurse I want check two cats and the first cat is fine after she checked. Why she wants to check another one? Just want to make money?

We just brought our bull mastiff in for the first time. The staff was wonderful.. We wanted to get her heartworm test but didn't know it was now not in season so instead of just taking the money, they suggested wait until spring which I was pleased about. Our girl has severe anxiety and usually gets really anxious around the vet. She was so calm.. Im just over the moon with them.

Had a friend visit this veterinary hospital for her cat who has been sick for a couple weeks. The first time she went, they ran tests and couldn't find anything wrong. Of course, no one is at fault for this; they asked her if they could perform a blood test upon a second visit, but then my friend noticed that the cat was limping and his leg was sensitive to touch. She raised this concern with Dr. Anna Sekhon. Instead of addressing these concerns in a compassionate, empathetic manner, Dr. Sekhon told my friend that she was wasting her time and that there was nothing wrong with the cat, as if she was in a better position to deem what was 'normal' behaviour for this particular than the cat's own owner. My friend was seen for a total of 3 minutes, and had to pay for a full exam, despite this vet being disgustingly unprofessional and utterly ineffectual. She was scolded for delaying the vet's surgery; apparently this facility has a time management problem, as the vet only allowed herself 5 minutes between this SCHEDULED appointment and her surgery. This isn't even my cat, but I am absolutely appalled at the lack of concern and empathy demonstrated toward both the cat--who was obviously in a great deal of pain--and my friend, who was clearly upset seeing her pet in this much pain for so long. I had attended this clinic with my friend at a prior date and we had seen a different veterinarian; this vet and the rest of the staff were very polite and kind, but this story has filled my soul with seething rage. If you don't like or "have time" to help and treat animals, perhaps you should have chosen a different profession. Needless to say, I wouldn't take my own animals to this clinic if it were the only clinic in the city. I would sooner drive to another PROVINCE than to submit my own animals or those of anyone I know to this lack of professionalism and compassion. Dr. Sekhon: you should be ashamed of yourself. UPDATE: About an hour after I posted this review, the clinic contacted my friend and offered her a free visit in exchange for removing her own review and this one. While the man she spoke to apologized that she was unhappy with the service she received, he did not acknowledge that the service itself was unacceptable. He equally seemed to take issue with the fact that I posted this review on behalf of my friend and her experience, to which I can only say that I did so without her knowledge and of my own volition. Despite the fact that her and I both clearly stated that the rest of the clinic's staff had been pleasant, he claimed our reviews were unfair, as they condemned the whole hospital for the actions of one person. Had he not offered her this free visit in exchange for removing a perfectly honest review--which, for me, calls into question the ethics and integrity of this entire establishment--I may have actually agreed, even if I did say that our previous experiences here had been ideal. After such a display of dishonestly, I can't help but look upon the other textless 1-star reviews with a great deal of suspicion.

I had an appointment booked for 10:15 am and Dr. Anna Sekhon was rushing me out at 10:18. The doctor was very rude and not at all professional. The rest of the staff is very considerate, but I can not get over the blatant rudeness of the two vets at this clinic. I was obviously very upset about my cat being in pain, and the female doctor gave no empathy or consideration to how I was feeling and it was more like if I don't wanna spend more money than leave. The male doctor, Dr. Paul Sekhon then contacted me, not apologizing for the behaviour that was presented, but for how I felt about it. He told me that if I took this review down, he would give me a free exam, which is not only unethical, but also morally wrong. Vets should be more focused on the health of the animals instead of the clinics public image.
