Hey care about the pets so this is good
Honestly they are very friendly and all but they are completely out to lunch on pricing. First of all it took me spending thousands of dollars just to find out my dog had a simple thyroid issue, which according to my new vet should have been one of first things tested for given the symptoms. Secondly even their medications are crazy inflated. I spent 170 dollars for just one bottle of thyroid medication and one month of nexgaurd. I called up my new vet just to ask them to price the exact same medications... I nearly lost it when she told me it would have cost me 70 dollars. I literally just threw 100 dollars in the trash, for regular everyday recurring medication. Lesson learned. Shop around people. Unless you have extra money to throw away. Don't go to watzin.
Watzin is fantastic! The doctors are caring and wonderful with our furry children. And the staff are all very friendly! You can tell they love what they do and I feel very confident my dog, Scout, is in the best care. I highly recommend them.
Best vets anywhere.
All 3 of my dogs have had medical care, treatment and surgery at Watzin Veterinary Clinic. I have & would recommend their services to friends and family. Wonderful clinic, friendly staff, caring Doctors who go the extra mile!
Great doctors and facility - I've had the opportunity to meet multiple doctors here and I felt comfortable with each of them. I feel confident that when my dog goes to this clinic, he is in the best of hands.
Great vet
Horrible bed side manner All about $ No compassion
I am so happy to have found this clinic. The vets are top notch and professional and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I love their app. The ability to book appointments, re-order medications and view history is a huge time saver. Keep up the great work everyone!
The staff at Watzin Veterinary Clinic are extremely kind and helpful. They are knowledgable and never made us feel stupid about all of the questions we asked about our new kitten. Our kitten was very comfortable there and well taken care of. I would recommend them to anybody!
Always friendly and fast service. The staff is very knowledgeable.
These guys have done nothing but take great care of our pup. They are very kind, professional and gentle. Watzin's has been great to us and and our dog!!
Fantastic staff and great with our dogs!
Started taking Jack there almost 2 years ago but after our experience this week we will never go back. Phoned in response to an email about Heartworm testing asked if Jack needed vaccinations they told me no just heartworm so I booked an appointment. Get there and they weigh him and take him in the back then a woman at the desk says I'll cash you out now. I said we need to wait to see what food the vet recommends - she tells me if you want to speak to the vet you need to make an appointment and pay for that. I responded that I had already made an appointment and no one told me we wouldn't be seeing a Dr. I said I need to speak to a vet - whatever vet that was there that day refused to see us and we were told the other the vet would call me the next day to discuss my concerns - NOTHING NO CALL - VERY DISAPPOINTED! Response to your comments - at no time was it explained to me that the appointment I made was not with the vet and the fact that the Dr. that was there refused to even speak to me made if pretty clear to me that no one was interested in the issues we were having with Jack. I did not return the call because I want a Dr that cares and we have moved on!
The stuff was friendly
The staff there is always so friendly. They have excellent customer service! They know me by name when I walk in the door. I can always get an appointment the same day, if needed, and everyone treats my fur babies like they were their own. I tell all of my friends and family to come to Watzins. You won't be disappointed!
This has been my dogs Vet since a pup. 7 years later not a single complaint. Excellent friendly staff, your pet is in good hands.
They are always super caring and you can tell they like your pet. I have always loved them but last time when I brought my new kitten who didn't have a carrier that told me to make sure to bring one next time. When we were waiting for him to come out, they put him in one of their carriers and didn't tell us it was our cat so poor thing was in -20°C weather for a few minutes with us wondering why they put a random carrier out with no one getting jt.
My beloved kitty suddenly became terminally ill while I was away on vacation and Dr. Watzin and Dr. Sommerville did their very best to care for her. They kept her as comfortable as they could and answered every one of my daily emails and phone calls to keep me up to date on her status. Though I ultimately had to put my beautiful Smokey down the day I returned, Dr. Sommerville was extremely kind, sensitive and helpful during this very tough time. I take great comfort knowing Smokey was in good hands during her worst days. Thank you for your sensitivity and kindness, Watzin Vet Clinic.
Have been the best vets around forever took very good care of my steve and pepper
Recently put our little fur baby down,Cora was treated so kind and gentle and with genuine love, Watzin staff was very kind to Cora and she felt very calm , Cora loved this place, extremely pet friendly and the best people skills to all the staff of this amazing establishment. To this day our other dog Cola enjoys her walk here and the girls take time to say hello to her and give a treat, In the future I'll only deal with then.. Love this place Rick
Love everyone at watzin's they are amazing! I moved back home to the niagara region but I still travel there for my animals !!! I refuse to change !dr Somerville and dr dicosta are amazing .
Highly recommend Watzin’s! My family has been using them for years and we have seen multiple vets here. My most recent dog has huge issues going to the vet(Covid has not helped) and it’s a very stressful process for him and me. They handle it amazingly and I’m very impressed, especially since to me it feels like he must be one of their least enjoyable clients! 100% recommend!! They are also great with helping my cat lose weight! They check in on his progress regularly!
Extremely impressed with the care and sense of urgency with the team at Watzin. Closing the loop and follow-up is ingrained in their DNA! Thank you for taking such great care of Stewie!
They don't care about your pet, they pull at your heart strings with a crowbar to make you overpay. Reason: I brought my cat in, who had run away then returned several days later with a vary nasty and infected tail. The receptionists and staff were indeed vary caring but when the quote of $1,680 + tax arrived and I was told the amputation would not be done for two and a half days. I had no way of paying a ridiculous bill, med-care fell though, and Dr. Sandra Watzin told me I could not take her home to get another opinion and that the only other option was euthanasia. I broke down, I could only think to call my mother who told Dr. Watzin that ""This was a consultation, you have no right to hold Ophelia", Ophelia being my loving cat. Watzin gave Ophelia back but said that if i didn't get her care she'd report me to the humane society and generally made me feel like a horrible owner. As it is, we found a fantastic veterinarian, Dr.Ammar @ Beattie pet hospital who only charged $494.05 + tax for the amputation and took her in to operate that night not two days from now. Ophelia has a much shorter tail but is happy and purring.
One of the vet tech's found my dog, at the side of the road. He had been hit by a car and left to die. She brought him into the clinic and they treated him without knowing who's dog it was, who was going to pay the medical bill. Most clinics would not have done this due to all the expenses. Unfortunately they were not equipped for such a serious trauma and Cujo had to be transferred to an emergency hospital. Once Cujo was discharged from the ICU, we made appointments twice a week for bandage changes and a quick check up. Everything went flawlessly. I went from sitting on the floor of Watzins, laying with my dog who couldn't walk, open his jaw or eyes, to a fully healed, fun loving dog he had always been. HUGE thanks to Watzins & The emergency hospital!
My two cats went in for neutering, and had zero complications and healed very quickly. Great clinic.
I used to think this place was wonderful. After having a few unpleasant visits I just received notification that they will no longer be servicing my dog due to "several" outcry's. I outwardly complained twice. If you're going to drop someone at least be honest. I was pushed to buy dog food for my dog which she kept throwing up. When I advised them they pushed me to add wet food. My dog still threw it up. They insisted I switch to a different dry food while still giving her the wet. The vet obviously gets a commission for customers buying this exclusive vet recommended food. I quietly chose to feed my dog food an alternative to theirs. The first time I had my dog groomed she came home with large clipper scratches on her belly. I did not complain as we were very new to the clinic and I wasn't sure if this was normal. I have pictures. I discretely showed another groomer and just chose not to groom her there in the future. She was spayed at Watkins in November 2018. Her stitches came loose. I brought her back in and was told she was fine only to bring her back in a few days later to have them staple her incision shut as it had opened even moreso. I bought everything they recommended at future visits including medication to sedate my dog as she had anxiety. The medication wasn't a one time dose. I was expected to purchase this medication for all future visits. Dr. Watzin dispensed 50 pills - to start with. I don't think this was to help my dog at the vet, I believe it was to help the vet with my dog. The last few visits I was asked first if I'd given my dog the Trazadone and when I replied I hadn't they seemed displeased. My dog just turned a year old and was skittish as a puppy but has gotten a lot less nervous, she is also a poodle so highly intelligent so refused the pills in everything I tried to disguise it with. I also don't think drugging my dog to the hilt should be an obligation for a vet visit. In February my dog split her paw open on some ice. Again, we had multiple visits almost daily due to the stitches popping open. The 5th time I brought her back I was at my wit's end. We were doing everything we could to prevent my dog from getting to her stitches. They finally attached the collar to the cone to prevent her from getting to her paw. It was pretty upsetting to think they had originally used a weak piece of gauze up tie the cone around her neck when something so obvious should have been done right from the beginning. Yet again this was our fault because we weren't drugging our 10 month old puppy for weeks while the stitches healed. Dr. DeCosta understood my frustration and admitted that my husband and I had not been given proper instruction or communication and was also shocked I had to come in. I had come in a couple times when she wasn't there, it wasn't even her that was re-wrapping the cast. Long story short I went in the other day as I was afraid my dog had been bitten by a tick. I was very clear there was no tick just what I thought was a bite. I was told to come on in and to bring the year revolution prevention medication with me (purchased 1 mo prior) it was no longer reccommended. They had others. Guess what it was 85 bucks more then the revolution. In addition I was charged $90 that I hold my dog up for Dr. Watzin to inspect her belly for a bite mark only to be laughed at that it was her belly button. BE WARNED. If you go to this veterinarian you are not allowed to ask for price lists or transparency of any kind. I was told by the clerk they are allowed to alter the prices of the visits at their discretion. I was also told that I had been given a deal because they didn't charge me for the eye trim or butt shave they gave my dog. You are not allowed to voice an opinion or have feelings. I was advised by clerk Dr. Watzin has an extensive education which I don't doubt coincides with her extensive pockets or her extensive ignorance for criticism. After all we have been through at this clinic their letter of termination of services is a blessing; all the while we never intended on returning.
Unbelievably gracious and kind staff. Dr DaCosta and Dr Watzin were so supportive of our Olive, and took time in an email, to be sure we were ok, too. Olive had her left eye removed and there was no question they didn’t answer... and I had a lot (sorry guys) answer. Dr Watzin was in contact with me all weekend, to answer questions, or check in and say how proud she is of Olive. The women that work there are so kind and helpful. Thank you to Becky, Jen, and the rest of the crew ❤️ One of the gals was leaving for the day, the first day we showed up there. She looked at Olive and said “Have a good weekend, girlfriend” ... I needed that, in that moment. It made me feel like she mattered, because she does. I wish I could remember who this was, but I was a mess at the time, so it’s kind of a blur. But it mattered, and it helped... so, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking care of our Olive, bringing her back to good health, and creating a safe place for all of us.
We have been clients for close to 20 years. Highly recommend Dr Watzin and her team!
Watzin Vet Clinic treats our animals like family (it's literally our dog's favourite place to visit!). We have received kind and professional care from all of the staff there and we know that they will always help us make the best decisions for our pets. We would never take our animals anywhere else.
Always a great experience and our boy Barney adores Kristy our groomer.
Quick and decisive examination and treatment. Patient and compassionate service. My cat Bella is on the road to a full recovery after emergency surgery and it's all thanks to Dr Watzin and her team. They know what they are doing.
Thorough, helpful and compassionate. Been taking our cats here for years.
I've been considering buying my first dog lately and wanted to get some information before I do so. I called Watzin Veterinary Clinic to get some information on all the responsibilities of becoming a dog owner. I spoke with Jennifer W several times over the phone to find out about vaccinations, veterinary costs & other tips of being a first time dog owner. Jen was so helpful and full of useful information and answered all my questions and then some. When I do get my first dog I will most definitely be bringing my dog to this clinic as I feel that they will have my dog's best interest in mind. Thank you again Jen for taking the time to talk to me.
We moved to area several months ago and needed new vet. We asked around neighbourhood and Watzins name came up many times. During actual move we decided to board our cats and dog... great experience for us and them.......lots of love at watzins. Our dog has had dental surgery as well there.... Again.......much love shown. Highly recc. This Vet. Sandi
Great experience, wonderful staff, love the fear free program!
great clinic, awesome staff! We love Watzin and recommend them to everyone and more importantly my dogs love it there
Watzin Clinic is amazing! They're very patient, even with pets that can be a bit of a handful (or two!). They're Fear Free certified, and you get that experience as soon as you walk in the door My pet and I have always felt very welcome and comfortable here, and would recommend them to anyone!
Awesome! Caring, attentive, experienced - highly recommended!
Very happy we chose to take our pup here. Very friendly and caring
Fear free services are extremely important. Vets and vet techs do a great job of making sure your pets are taken care of. So happy we found this place.
I have been going here with my dog for nine years. I will never go back after the way I was treated for my dogs annual check up. Dr.Dacosta didn't even check my dog I was there for five minutes as she took my dog to the back and gave her a rabies shot. Not reccomend
Thank you for helping us with a most difficult decision. Nigel was in good hands until the end.
Best Veterinary clinic around I drive over an hour each way just for their services. Our special member of our family deserves the Best Treatment around.
Great folks. Took amazing care of my foster dog.
Great staff ! The only vet office my dogs have ever got excited about going to ! I recommend highly .
Amazing staff, amazing care for my dog Odin, what more could you ask for?
Great little clinic. Fear free. Excellent staff, A+++ grooming services. If not for them our Whisper would not be here.
My cats and I have been clients of Watzin Vet Clinic for more than 10 years. The entire team is wonderful, from reception, to technicians, to all three vets. They always have time to talk to me about my concerns, and give my cats the best care. I really appreciate that they follow up after we have been in. It is clear that they care about pets and their welfare., and their owners!
Dr. Watzin and her staff provide outstanding professional care to my pets. I was originally attracted by the less pain, quicker recovery lazer surgical options and continue to bring my pets there today, more than 15 years later.
Very friendly service, everything was well explained and they take great care of my pup. Highly recommend
Absolutely top drawer care and service. Sandra has looked after my LARGE German Shepherds for close to 20 years now. Her advice and follow up has always been stellar and very much appreciated. My wife and I are entirely confident with the advice we've received over the years and continue to do so. Also, her prices are fair if not better than other clinics we checked out. We moved out of town several years ago but we still drive the extra 30 minutes just to see her with our dog.
Friendly staff and knowledgeable doctors. They take great care of your fur-babies.
Great clinic. Well run. Great vets and staff, just unfortunate about the costs, but your pet is part of your family....soooo...!!
the best veterinary clinic in the GTA area
The customer service is unbelievably amazing here. The staff are caring, genuine and are all round awesome. Thank you for caring so much, and doing such a great job at caring for all the pets in your care. You are all very much appreciated!
Our cat has a habit of eating things that aren't food which then obstruct his digestion. After noticing he had eaten a small toy, we brought him to Watzin Vet Clinic right away. The doctor and all the staff were super kind and professional, and they were able to induce vomiting to get the toy out right away. The rate was reasonable, the vet was fantastic, and the office was welcoming. I was also really happy to receive a follow-up email to see how he's doing post-treatment - that was a nice touch I haven't had at other clinics. Thank you so much for saving our little buddy's life!
Great place, clean, very friendly, just a little more expensive than other vets
The staff is wonderful. I am very satisfied with the care they have given to my dog Little Foot. I have gone to them previously quite a few years ago I had my bunny Boots neutered I thought they were wonderful then so when I got Little Foot I didn't hesitate On where to take him. I would like to Thank them for all the care they gave him and the stress free care they gave me. Keep up the good work. Glady and Little Foot ????
Good
We have been going to Watzin for over 10 years now
Fantastic, caring Vet! Great Staff. Amazing groomer.
Unfortunately, due to costs... I wasn't able to save my cat. However, it wasn't due to the clinic at all. I will forever cherish the clinic's help when no one was able to admit us last minute on a weekend. They were very patient, caring and was willingly to give me options on what I can do for my baby. My boyfriend and I knew the worst case scenario and they gave us affordable options. I am very grateful for Dr. Sommerville. Becky was also wonderful. Thank you again. They really do care for you pet. Absolutely reccomended. R.I.P Blackie ????????
From time to time, you might change veterinary clinics for your family pets, and in this case, a change from another vet to Dr Watzin's practice, saved my young dogs life. My dog has been through so many puppyhood ailments, which Dr. Watzin, Dr. DaCosta, and then entire staff at Watzin Veterinary Clinic have been there for him every step of the way. The caring nature, compassion, advice, and overall positivity of the staff is beyond anything I could have imagined. I've been to multiple clinics for my dogs in the past, but I can say without a second thought, this clinic cares, and I have never had such a positive experience like the one I continue to have here.
Dr. Watzin is absolutely amazing with our little dog, Oslo! She makes us feel so at ease when we’re visiting the clinic, and even checks in afterwards to make sure that Oslo is doing well. She is extremely responsive and professional. More than that, I feel like she genuinely cares about our dog. He’s not treated like a number at Watzin Veterinary Clinic, but is instead looked after with the upmost attention, compassion, and care.
These guys are great! Dr. Katie is always sweet & gentle with my nervous dog
These guys are the best! <3
I've been taking both my dogs here for a couple of years now. They are both not super excited to be there, but the technicians are always so sweet and kind to them that I have never felt anything but confident. My one dog just got fixed and the customer service was incredible! His sutures got infected and they followed up many times to make sure that he was doing well and that the treatment was working. Thank you!
When Polar Ice Angel came into our lives, he had every parasite canine can have. The hardest for him and us to deal with was Heart Worms. Dr Watzin was so sensitive and professional, we could not have gotten better care anywhere else. We also had a ferett. She was so sweet and not too many veterinarians are experienced with them, but again Dr Watzin was. She developed cancer and The staff and Dr. Watzin helped us through that difficult journey. I always recomend Watzin Veterinary Clinic.
I've always been very happy with the care provided for my Golden Retriever, Monty. Everyone is very friendly and professional from the moment you walk in the door. Monty gets very excited every time I take him for an appointment. He loves Dr. Somerville.
Amazing... compassionate and caring. Loves animals. Treats them like they are one of their own. Helped my family through one of the toughest moments with the loss of a family pet. Highly recommend this Veterinary Clinic any chance I get.
I've been a loyal customer almost since the practice opened c.1997. My "pets" are my kids-I love them. I have trusted Sandra Watzin and her team with my kid's day to day care, and those heart-wrenching times that inevitably occur when we must say goodbye. The team members are all compassionate and knowledgeable, and are willing to collaborate with the customer to work out a plan of care for each unique situation. Thanks for being there you guys, again and again! -
Thoughtful staff. Wonderful and friendly place
This veterinary clinic is professional and clean! I love that they are a fully equipped animal hospital, ready to take on any emergencies and with Dr. Watzin’s long list of credentials, I know my Baileys is always in good hands. Always a worm welcome when we come in for Baileys routine check ups, the staff is friendly, caring and kind. My yellow lab, Baileys is a' big scaredy cat’ and requires extra attention, which she receives quadruple along with treats, pats and hugs. I love Watzin Veterinary Clinic!!
Good service and excellent communicating as always
Great service
We have been going to Watzins for many years with our pets. They are always pleasant and have been so good to our dog Lucy. Sandra and her staff have been great to her. She especially loves Kristy for her Spa days!
Love this Vet Clinic - the girls are fantastic, my both Dr. Watzin and Dr. DeCosta have seen my animals - great team
Sandra is the best she takes care of all my dogs since she opened her practice .
Absolutely love the staff at Watzins. We have been talking our dog Bailey there since she was 5 weeks old. We also have her monthly weigh-in's and thanks to everyone she is doing great.
Excellent experience with a kind and loving staff.
Great people, excellent service. I bring both my cats here.
Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about my pet's needs.
I brought my rescue dog Winston here as he was in terrible shape: parasites, tape worms, heartworm, malnourished. Dr Watzin and her team took Winston into their arms and their hearts and have worked with me to bring out his loving character and personality that was hidden in a traumatized pooch. I've had many pets, visited many vets and this clinic will genuinely treat you and your pet as family. Winston & I are blessed to have met such great caregivers and good people!
My relationship with Watzin goes back several decades, and covers a couple of dogs; and prior to that two cats. Their service has always been superb. The professionalism of all the staff is consistently top notch. ALL of the staff is professional and understanding. I don't very often develop the loyalty with a services provider that has transpired with them. It wouldn't occur to me to go anyplace else for either veterinary services, pet food or any other pet supplies; even though I have relocated further from the area. I will still continue to go back.
I was very happy with my previous vet, but was out of the area. We tried Watzin and were absolutely blown away with everything: service, cleanliness, professionalism, knowledge all amazing. My review doesn't do them justice, go and see for yourself.
As concerned for my pups anxiety and happiness as I was. Extremely friendly and informative. Thanks so much!
The girls at the front desk are always pleasant and friendly in greeting my dogs and I..they always make a fuss over the dogs! When it was time for me to have one of my dogs put down, Dr. Sommerville came to my house and with her technician, let my dog go gracefully and peacefully. I will always remember that.
Good hours, great staff and vets. Have kept my dog healthy since we got him.
Great service and caring staff willing to help in any way needed!
Very friendly, and compassionate Staff. Buttons loved the visits.
Warm and friendly environment, and a professional, helpful and caring team. I particularly like the dedicated canine and feline areas to help reduce stress. First impression after taking one of my cats there with a health concern has seen me register both of my cats here for their care. Highly recommended.
Outstanding and honest vet! clarified my brothers dog did not need surgery after being told by another company my dog would need a 1200$ removal surgery which they would then send to a lab to determine what it was and if it was cancerous. The lady here was shocked because you are supposed to determine what your dealing with first then that will help determine what procedure you do. Oh and my dogs ear didnt even need surgery it will go away on it's own. I'll be taking my pets here because you can tell they are doing their jobs for the right reason, and they are genuine care.
This clinic is absolutely fabulous!!! They truly care about the health and wellness of your pet. Friendly staff and doctors. Both are amazing!!! These people treat your pets as if they were their own.
Always get treated well at Watzins veterinary clinic. I have a lab puppy prone to illness and injury and never have a problem getting immediate attention. Even had Dr Watzin stay past closing time to see my puppy who was having an allergic reaction. (Saving me a trip to the after hours vet.) All the veterinarians and support staff are friendly, caring and helpful.
Excellent Staff. I never feel worried, I always know our dog is in the best care.
I've been bring my pets to Watzin Veterinary Clinic for many years. Everyone there is always so friendly and courteous and really care about my pets. This is a great clinic!
Watkins Vet Clinic has been out choice for years, the professional staff and their caring for animals is outstanding. We would never go anywhere else. Thank you for your great service!
To anyone looking for veterinary services in Waterdown ON, I would highly recommend Watzin's. They are very highly qualified and have performed miracles for us! They are also very kind and caring to your pets. My dogs just love all the staff!
Always personable and friendly, the staff have taken great care of my 3 cats. The oldest, who is 22 this year, would not be with us if it wasn't for the care Dr. Watzin gave her when we discovered the early onset of kidney failure. Providing the right dietary options and guidance, she still runs around like a kitten. Couldn’t have done it without them!
My family brought our beloved cat into Watzin in the summer of 16 when he will sick. We previously brought him into another clinic (in the town we used to live) and he was misdiagnosed for several months. We made the move to Watzin and they correctly diagnosed the illness as lung cancer :( . Dr. Sommerville and Dr. Da Costa were fantastic to deal with from the beginning as they showed compassion and professionalism throughout the process. They emailed and called us weekly to follow up and were great to communicate with. He unfortunately died more than a month ago but both Dr. Da Costa and Sommerville wrote us a hand written note expressing their sympathy and sadness for our loss. It meant so much to our family as we were truly touched by this gesture. Our time of grieving was made easier thanks to the great people at Watzin and I can't thank them enough. Great people, great clinic and I highly recommend Watzin' s to any and all pet owners out there. Mike and Paula
We've been talking our pets to Watson's for about 8 years. The staff and DR's at the clinic are fantastic and truely care about our dogs. Over the years we've taken out dogs to many vets and I can say Watzins is definitely the best clinic we've gone to!
Great team - very warm and friendly environment as soon as you walk through the door. The doctors are very thorough and caring with our dog, Bella - she loves Dr. DaCosta! Everyone there is very helpful. I feel very confident she is in the best care. I would highly recommend them.
nice ,and friendly , good doctors
My wife Dorothy and I find that our visits to the clinic are made more relaxing because the staff love their clients/patients and treat them with compassion and love. They are all very thorough with their care from the time we arrive at the clinic until we leave. They follow through with appointment reminders, check to see if there are other things we might need for our pets and one thing we both like is that the staff know our pet's name when they come in for care or treatment. Nice touch. We do recommend the clinic to our neighbours and friends in the area because of the wonderful treatment we receive. Thank you very much for all you do for our 3 precious cats, Pookie, Kandie and Max.
I love this veterinary clinic and all their staff are very friendly and helpful. We have taken our dog Lucy there and my beloved cat Zack, who passed recently, and now my new fur babies Crosby and Finn. My Zack was very ill and it was during Covid. Money was tight and Dr. Watzin did her very best to treat him, keep him comfortable, and because of his age and illness, didn't try to push any expensive heroics our way. She constantly emailed me to check in, and helped me have peace with having to put him to rest. Now again this was during Covid. They allowed me and my husband in. We were not rushed at all. I'm sure we were there for 2 hours, as I just couldn't let go.of my baby boy. All the staff were emotional with us. Dr. Decosta did the procedure and even took the time to check up on me by email and send a beautiful condolence card and donation in his name. Now who does that these days. Not sure if they are more expensive than others, but you get what you pay for! Didn't think twice about bringing my new fur kittens here. My one kitty has had a fair share of diarrhea and I can be a helicopter parent..just a little lol..They have tried to work with him by diet, probiotics, and some medications, before wanting me to spend a fortune I don't have on other testing, even when I make the suggestion. Again so nervous after loosing my last cat after 13 years. They will spend as much time talking to me as I need, by person, email or phone to assure me and address questions/concerns. I very much like the care of Dr. Watzin and Dr. Decosta and Jen of course..she can answer anything you need to know! I used to only see Dr. Watzin, as I thought she was the cat guru, and the others worked more with dogs. I was wrong Dr Decosta is a cat lover/owner also. So your in good hands either way. Sorry Dr. Watzin, if been seeing the younger doctor with the new babies as I'm hoping they will be around a good 20 years, and hopefully you will be retried and relaxing before then lol. Anyway long story, but it's a wonderful practice and your animals will be well cared for by all who see them.
Just one big sales presentation. I went in just for my dog's annual vaccines but the owner/vet tried to get me to switch over to their crazy expensive "science diet" even though I am feeding him a perfectly good all-natural dog food. Then she said I needed to do yearly bloodwork (for another $300) even though he is perfectly healthy. It seemed like a lot of expensive stuff when my dog is perfectly healthy. To top it all off, the owner has her crazy rottwieler running loose in the clinic who kept jumping up on my 8 year old son and trying nip at him. Not happy with such a sales oriented vet who lacks professionalism and compassion for my pet and family.
Great place, excellent staff
My frenchie had luxating patella surgery! I was so impressed with the level of care and communication I ended up leaving my other vet and making Watzins his full time vet! It’s an incredible place and team of people!!
Staff always pleasant helpful and kind. Christy the groomer is gentle with the critters she bathes and grooms. She has a true compasion for all the fur babies she cares for
We have been bringing our pets here for over 10 years and the care they receive is always exceptional. Very caring and very knowledgable staff. I highly recommend them to everyone!
My dogs have been to Watzin's for over a decade and the staff and the facility are fantastic.
The Watzin clinic has been there for our family through a few really tough times. They're not only professional but their bedside manner is unmatched. When our first dog was terminally ill - Dr. Watzin made sure to check in on us periodically, give us sound medical advice and was always so responsive when we had questions. Another time our dog, Goose, needed an emergency surgery and Dr. Saturno and Dr. Watzin saved his life. They were empathetic to listening to us and have been really supportive throughout his recovery. I can't thank the entire team enough.
Amazing
Our family is thankful for the great help and professional expertise received at Watzin clinic. All staff at the clinic is kind and loving in all situations . We will continue as clients for many years to come. Warm regards Nadia Collins
I've been going here for years and the staff are amazing. The prices are great compared to vet's in the city
I have been with this AMAZING team for over 15 years! They are the most caring, informed and up to date group to assist not only the needs of my cats over the years, but my family as well. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
Took our dog shadow in for an emergency appointment due to odd coughing. The front desk staff was friendly and had no problems with him. When the doctor came to see him she was very cold and spooked him. She put no effort into greeting him or trying to calm him. For a clinic that boasts they are fear free her immediate reaction was to put a muzzle on him instead of actually making an effort to calm him (he has never had any problems with any other vets we have taken him to). Her little effort with treats was to crumble them up and throw them on the floor. Was then told that if we brought him in next time we would have to buy pills to slightly sedate him. On top of that the doctor was in and out so fast that she did not even bother really explaining much of what was wrong with him or how he could have caught it. Overall this was the worst vet visit we have ever experienced, and for the price it is so not worth it. Too much money for too little care. And the information about being fear free certified seems a bit of an exaggeration. The response below is a sad attempt to cover for a vet who put it next to no effort. Not to mention that we received absolutely no information on the possible causes, on the treatment or on anything to do with our issue. We came out of our appointment that cost over $300 knowing just as much as when we went in. I would hope that when other new patients visit this clinic that they will be treated with more respect, even if it is an emergency appointment.
Love this vet! 100% GIRL POWER! All female staff !
Took my kitten for his first shots, and it was immediately clear how great the staff was. They went above and beyond to make my kittens visit as comfortable as possible. From having a "cat only" waiting area, to distracting him with whipped cream while they gave him his shots, it amazed me how dedicated they were to not only making sure he was healthy, but that he also felt as comfortable and as calm as possible.
very pleased with all services-------but where did u get ''moo-moo from? funny----that is my nick-name from birth
They were all fantastic very happy with the doctors and staff they were great with our puppy. And she is so much better because of them they are at the top of our list will not take her anywhere else ever
Ended up here after a bad experience at 2 other vets. They were punctual, friendly and knowledgable. No unnecessary tests were pushed on us (unlike our previous 2 visits with other vet clinics) and I left confident we had the correct diagnosis for our dog.
the only reason I am giving Watzin 3 stars is that recently their prices have become outrageously high compared to what I used to pay for my pets and unfortunately am thinking of moving them to a closer and less expensive vet where I have received great emergency care for my pets. It makes me sad as I love them, but as a single mother with two fur-babies and two human babies, I just cannot put out the extra money.
Great caring place!
All of the staff at Watzin Veterinary Clinic are outstanding! Having owned pets for many years I can honestly say the level of care and compassion shown by Dr. Watzin and her team is incredible. Having had a very difficult experience recently with our cat I am thankful that Dr. Watzin and her team were so compassionate and understanding. A fabulous clinic for our furry family members. Thank you to the staff at Watzin Veterinary Clinic!
Great customer service, I feel so comfortable leaving my dog in the hands of this clinic. Reasonable pricing, clean atmosphere and the vet is super helpful. Glad I found the perfect new vet clinic for my dog.
We have been bringing our pets to Dr. Watzin and her team for over 2 years now and have always been impressed by the level of service from the entire team - friendly, professional and they clearly love animals. The follow-up from the vets themselves post visit is also amazing. I cannot say enough about the Watzin Veterinary Clinic.
New to the area, I brought my sick cat to see Dr. Somerville. She was very nice and explained options she thought were best given the circumstances. In the end, I made the difficult decision to put my guy down. The whole process was very humane and done with dignity and patience, especially since they were already 30 mins past closing time. Why I would not recommend this vet is because on top of being the most expensive vet I've gone to, the upselling they tried to do while saying goodbye to my cat was very inappropriate. Urns, pawprints, etc may be what some people want, but as I explained to them, I just wanted my cat. As we had wanted to bury or release his ashes, on top of making a difficult decision to put my cat down, I had to choose whether I wanted pay AN EXTRA 250 dollars to keep my cat's ashes or hold onto a dead cat until the ground thaws. Totally not the time to flip through a catalogue of options in my opinion. In the end paying for the examination, euthanasia, cremation and release of his ashes would have been just 100 dollars less than the full surgery the vet had suggested as the other option. I do not regret my decision, I just wish it wasn't such of a money grab.
I have been coming to Watkins for years now and the service continues to improve every year. The staff are attentive and helpful. They genuinely care about your pet. So happy I have found them.
Awesome team members
Excellent care for pets
Staff friendly and professional. Dr. Sandra Watzin has done a fabulous job providing care for our pets for over 20 years. Keep up the great work.
Great Staff, Great care!
I LOVE Watzin!! They've been taking care of my animals for 18 years! And our latest dog Tulah, is a rescue, so ALWAYS a complicated and stressful visit! SANDRA WATZIN AWAYS accommodates her, and her needs! Wouldn't trust any other clinic! Love all of them! XX
We are very thankful for the care our guinea pig received at this clinic. He went on a regular basis to have his nails trimmed and the staff were always friendly, loving and kind to both our pet and ourselves. They were most compassionate when we had to say goodbye to our sweety and gave us the support we needed. We would highly recommend Dr. Somerville and all the fantastic support staff!
Very thorough, helpful and prompt.
The doctors and staff at Watzin Vet Clinic were and are all so great with my dogs. My 12 year old lab was treated with so much care and dignity in her senior years. Dr. Watzin and Kathryn made a house call to put her to rest peacefully when we knew the time had come. They made our last moments with her more comfortable and less stressful. Now I take my rescue pup from Aruba to Watzins. She is greeted with kindness and love by the front staff. She has some nervousness when it comes to nail trims, however Watzins Fear Free clinic brings her anxiety to a manageable level. My pup was spayed at the clinic and recovery with the precision laser was excellent without any issues. I trust the expertise of all the doctors. They take the time to explain any procedures and medications. I would definitely recommend this wonderful team. I feel lucky and grateful to have my newest family member looked after by Watzins Veterinary Clinic.
staffs great, prices could be better....
Dr. DaCosta is the best. I have taken my two poodles to her when in need, and I am impressed by her thoroughness. Clinic is very clean and reception very friendly.
The staff at Watzin are amazing - all of them! So caring and kind. Dr. DaCosta is wonderful! My puppy had surgery and she called the next day after hours to make sure she was doing ok! She also took the time to answer some questions I had. I highly recommend Watzin Veterinary Clinic! This was our first dog and they are taking such good care of her! I also enjoy their App. So convenient and helps me organize appointments. Thank you Watzin! :)
I initially went to Watzin because I needed a quick appointment for my cat, and this was the closest one to my new house. I didn't intend to switch from my regular veterinary clinic in Mississauga, but one visit here changed my mind. They were so wonderful and kind with my cat, giving her treats, brushing her, and making sure she was calm and comfortable before they even tried to look at her. A few weeks later, it was time for my dog to have an appointment because he had a rash. The doctor emailed to check in, and when I emailed a few days later saying the rash spread, she emailed back and forth with me on Thanksgiving! This is a vet that actually cares about your pets!! I just stopped in today to pick up some medication, and when I mentioned to the vet tech Jennifer that my dog is very leash aggressive and I'm at my wits end, she emailed me a bunch of information and also contact info for a trainer. I have seriously never had such great experiences with a veterinary clinic, and I have had pets all my life. I recommend this place 150%!!! Thank you for everything
Staff are compassionate, helpful, takes time to explain and answer questions and very warm and responsive
Very unusual experience. Very expensive experience. Gave my animal whip cream instead of a treat for distraction - my animal was sick after. Told me my animal was in their Chubb club and needed to come back in a month just to be weighed? Informed me my one animal had worms after appointment and medication was ready to pick up - informed I had two animals and they would both have it, and I’m not treating one without the other (and having them pass it back and forth). No help at all, wanted me to bring the other animal in, pay for exam, etc. I asked them to transfer the file to another vet I have used in the past almost a week before appointment & they said they would do it right then. I went to the other vet and they didn’t receive any of the paperwork, and closed the file, so we had to wait. They told me my animal may be at risk from all of these diseases, and was telling me I should do all these tests ($150/test) without any information. They asked a couple odd questions that made me feel like I was doing something wrong, and didn’t know how to take care of my own animal, and I have been an animal owner all my life. Did not feel good about this experience. Do not recommend - felt like a money scam.
Brie had her visit of introduction with Dr De Costa Wednesday who also gave her a microchip. My cuty was affectionate with the staff. As always, a great experience with the Watzin family!
Our first visit was Friday 06/15/2018 and we were very pleased. Great staff, nice surroundings and I didn`t find the price expensive at all. Highly recommend them.
Always caring about Buck's general welfare . As a pet owner our needs are always meet.
I met with many veterinarians in past a couple of years in Quebec and Brantford. I never have had such a bad experience. They are sales instead of vets. They only care about money instead of the true demands of pets. They are always trying to book as many services as possible although customers already declined. When you realize the bill is extraordinary out of tolerance and they will zero the bill. Is it a cheating? Anyways won’t go back and good luck to poor animals with them.
Very thoughtful, kind, professional doctors and staff.
Been going to Watzin for over 15 years now. The care for our dogs has always been passionate & caring. Dr. Watzin & her team are amazing!
From the moment you enter from the time you leave a five star experience. I brought my puppy but i love the idea of the feline only zone. They seem to take all the extra steps to ensure a positive stress free visit for both pet and parent.
Great place, I wouldn't take my little guy anywhere else, they are always very friendly and have twice booked us immediate appointments due to my cats asthma and breathing issues! He gets very scared at the vet and the staff all treat him very gently and are always patient and kind!
Freindy , helpful staff . We have complete trust in their care of our dog
This was the best experience I’ve had with any vet. The clinic is totally focused on making the experience stress free. Dr. Watzin is amazing as are all the staff.
Excellent practice. Everyone is friendly, professional and helpful.
Nice facility. Really can't say enough about the great Drs and staff. Our puppy loves visiting, and we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet.
Love Dr. DaCosta, she's awesome!
I've never had a dog that gets so excited going to the vet's. That is due to Sandra and the Watzin staff that makes every visit special. Thank You for all you do.
I switched my animals to Watzin Veterinary Clinic and I'm beyond impressed. The staff genuinely put the animals best interest first! We feel so comfortable and welcomed every time we come in or call with a question. The staff send personalized emails to see how your pet is doing after their visit and that meant the world to me!
We have always been totally satisfied with the service provided. The staff are friendly, caring, helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent care has been provided over the years to our three dogs. When one of our dogs suffered a sudden severe cardiac issue and unfortunately did not survive, we could not have asked for more from everyone at Watzin's. We were also so touched by the personalized letter of sympathy that we received from the clinic during our grieving process. It is without hesitation that we recommend Watzin's Clinic to our fellow pet lovers.
First visit. Treated with professionalism, genuine care and friendliness. Never felt pressure to move ahead with expensive treatments, only support.
This place is outstanding. I have been here only once and they made it the best possible experience for my wife and I. We just lost our 7yr. Old Boerboel due to some insanely quick nerve damage to his back legs and became paralyzed in less than a week and we had to say Goodbye????. Dr. Sommerville and her team couldn’t of been more professional and caring at this horrible time for us!! I just wanted to say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts!!❤️❤️❤️ R.I.P Cassius.
I am so impressed with the service at Watzin's! My dogs are actually excited to go to the vet . Their fear free approach is so impactful for my dogs- the fear and apprehension of vet visit is gone and replaced with excitement and tail wags.
