This place is awesome. Very friendly staff and they helped our cat when he got sick on short notice. Very impressed with the veterinarian. Thank you so much for helping us

Marc Verdel

Great place! Not my primary vet (Due to convenience) but they always help out in a pinch and helped us deal with an emergency without gouging our pocket.. Check them out!

Chelsey Hendriksen

They are so compassionate, don't try and upsell unnecessary services and truly care for your pet. Every person I've interacted with here has been amazing to deal with. Can't recommend them enough

Do not recommend at all. Crazy high prices, and they aren't willing to be flexible with payments or suggest other options for you if you don't have money to pay for surgery, etc. When our dog needed surgery on her leg and we said it's hard for us to pay it all at once, they actually suggested giving her to a shelter and they could get the surgery done and someone else would be able to adopt her. When we called the vet in Komoka they said they would work with us on payments and the surgery we ended up getting done was HALF the price of what Masonville wanted to do. Horrible place to take your pets - try Komoka instead!

We were nervous about how our cats visit would be. It went better than expected. They have a cat only exam room and our normally skittish cat was like she was at home ...nice and calm

Patrick Duriez

Quick and efficient at the front. They took good care of my cat, gently and nicely.

Recommend by a friend when I just moved to London and really happy with VCA. Friendly staff that take really good care of my puppy. He is always excited to go to the vet and say hi.

I was incredibly disappointed when this Animal Hospital was bought out by this corporation. When I brought my dog in after the transition, I immediately noticed significant price increases on products and also an "up-selling" of services. I never asked for an assessment for my dog for dental services, nor was it discussed in the appointment, but as I was leaving I was presented with an estimate for the cost of these services as well as encouraged to book them. My perception was that I could no longer trust that what the vets here were telling me was in the best interest of my dog. It felt like they just wanted my money and were being pushy about it. My dog had been a patient there for 7 years. We will not go back.

Viola Poletes

Great and caring team. Dr. Lisa is clear, efficient and kind.

I love it here <3 I started going here in September 2013 when my kitten had a broken leg, which is fully healed now :) I take all pets, two cats and one dog, including my two older kitties that live with my parents. When I go I request Dr. Kenzie as she is very friendly to my furry children and to me. I recommend this place to anybody :)

Bob Pluss

I have been going here for as long as I can remember - I think as far back as 1995! Highly recommend them as one of the best Veterinarian clinic on London!

This business is willing to work with people and their pets, even during the Scamdemic. Thank you for your understanding and caring approach while delivering your services. Our Vet Brandon is the kind of person very much needed in the industry and the entire supporting staff were and are still beyond helpful and knowledgeable. They did not do one thing without my consent and my animal left there the same way I brought her with no funny business whatsoever restoring my faith in the veterinary profession. Bella and I are forever grateful.

Ashley Maclennan

They are so kind, affordable, and treated our cat Link with such patience and kindness. I very much enjoyed the experience and am happy to have found such a wonderful vet to care for Link. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet!

This is the best vet I have ever had. My cat doesn't squirm when we have checkups. I moved my vet because Masonville was too far away, but quickly returned when I realized that I had made a mistake. This animal hospital is across the city, but so worth it. My cat is always so well taken care of, I feel as if they know their stuff and really care about my pet. Thank you so much!

Tara Stanton

The staff here are very unfriendly. Our cat sees a mobile veterinarian but eats a special food that needs to be purchased from a vet office. The "food buying account" is under my name but often my fiance will go in to pick up the cat food and they always ask him a million questions about my whereabouts like "why isn't Tara picking up the food?" and even called my phone after he left once. I've been to other vet offices and purchased this food several times without issue. We won't be going back here to purchase our cat food.

Francesca Lepore

During my visit the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We booked with Victoria (veterinarian tech) last minute with no problems and did not have to wait to be seen. Dr. Brousseau was very good and was able to give us a quick and accurate diagnosis in order to get our pup back into good health. This was my first visit here and I will continue to bring my dogs back to this location.

Used to be really good but when Dr Kirby left things changed. All new people constantly and they got really expensive. They seem to be prescribing everything for questionable reasons. We are sad to say but we are shopping for a new vet. Seems like they are more about the money than the pets. A recipe for disaster

I wanted to share my amazing experiance I had with Masonville animal hospital. After being rejected by my vet because they couldn't squeeze my dog in after explaining to them how bad of shape he was in, Masonville went out of their way to take my dog in and thank god they did. Enzo would have died, they saved his life and nursed him back to health. He was touch and go for awhile and because of them he is back to his normal self. The entire team that works at Masonville animal hospital are the best people in the world when it comes to loving and looking out for animals. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. When it comes to the health and well being of your animal this team is 100% the best. I cannot express enough how caring and loving the entire team is. Thank u so much Masonville for saving Enzo

Most compassionate vet team I've ever met. We've been with them for 8 years and they've helped us through the loss of two family cats, and shortly our third old guy. They have treated us as if our pets were their own family.

I just wanted to let everyone know how grateful I am to all the staff at Masonville Animal Hospital for their help in keeping my 14 year old golden retriever Lucy healthy - Every day at the dog park people can't believe her age and I owe it to the knowledgeable staff and vets who recommended the perfect food for her. Not only that they were able to recognize her symptoms early on and correctly diagnose her hypothyroidism. She is now on proper medication and nothing is slowing her down.

To everyone who is writing or reading reviews currently: Dr. Kirby has moved his practice to Strathroy. We will be getting our vet service from them directly. The corporation that bought out Dr. Kirby's practice prevented him from stating that he was moving, and made it seem like he was retiring when in fact he is still practicing elsewhere. They forced the practice to raise prices, and hire staff that are rude and ignorant. When we went in with our dog, we knew something was off. The staff usually knows who our dog is, because we came so frequently when he was a puppy. This time, they didn't. Then my dog had a bad reaction to an antibiotic that he was given at the clinic. We naturally asked to switch it to another form, since he was not tolerating the oral antibiotic. They charged us money to switch antibiotics. When we argued about being charged, the receptionist said "well you can just let your dog suffer then." Are you for real? Why would we bring our dog to a vet if we wanted him to suffer? We got the antibiotics from the clinic, so it is definitely in the scope of their practice to change it for us without charging extra. We will not be returning to this clinic. Ever. Even though it is in a convenient location for us, I would rather drive an hour and give my business elsewhere. You should too.

Dr. Kenzie, and 1 super awesome vet tech (who's name I unfortuntely can't remember) are the reason why I use this vet. They have continued to care for my cat long after others have given up, and because of them he is healthier than he has been in years. I seriously can't say enough praise for these 2! If you're using this vet, ask for Dr. Kenzie. She genuinely cares, and is far more knowledgeable than any other vet I have ever seen (and trust me, I've seen a lot).

Rachel Vanderloop

Even during COVID lockdown they were there to protect and look after my dog when others wouldn't. Been with them for a long time before I had to switch because I moved but couldn't be happier now that I'm back. Easy to work with, very professional, fair prices. They really listen to my sometimes over-hyped concerns and make me feel heard.

I'm a new cat owner and Dr. France Cyr was extremely patient and answer all my questions. It's a shame that we can't go inside with our pets during the checkup but i can't complain, since we all have to do what we can to stay safe. They also give a free first exam so there's no reason not to give them a try!

I DO NOT recommend this animal hospital at all. If you want to waste money for absolutely no reason, then this is the place to go. A few months ago I went to give my puppy a vaccine. I told the front desk and the doctor that I do not want a health check because I had gotten one not even two weeks before this appointment. I made it very clear. The vet felt my puppy's paws, checked a few bones, gave him the vaccine, and finished. I go to the front desk, and BAM, I was forced to pay for a check-up appointment even when I explicitly said I do not want it. I let it slide, and had recently booked a date for my dog to be neutered by them. When I first had my conversation with them, they gave me a certain price for how much the whole process would cost. I am very particular person, so I asked a few times to confirm the price. I called back yesterday to confirm dates and quotes. Lone behold, the price was not the same as when I first confirmed, in fact it was almost double what they had originally quoted me. I do not recommend this place at all, unless you really don't care for your money. You can EASILY find other clinics that provide more than adequate service for half the price.

They've always seemed to have time to get my cats in for appointments, no matter how last minute. All the vets and vet techs we've talked to have been kind, good with my cats, let us know everything that they were doing, and invited questions from us :)

The best Vet care in the city. The staff and doctors treat you like family and really care about your animal. I would 100% recommend this animal hospital over any in the city of London and surrounding areas. It's worth the drive to the north end for the best care!

Just walked in to Masonville Animal Hospital with 4 Lovebirds to ask question, the face the receptionist expressed was devastating. Without letting me finish my question she interrupted me with "We don't look at birds here" as if she was stating me to get the hell out. Very nice customer service since I did not take my Chiwawa for $$$ grooming. Thank you for letting me finish the question, could not be more clear that you are NOT Animal hospital instead hair salon.

I have had nothing but great experiences with Masonville Animal Hospital and especially Dr. Kenzie. She is a very caring and dedicated veterinarian and really adores rabbits. I am a student and decided to have my rabbit spayed. I was unable to afford the $250.00 up front but they were very helpful in getting me on a payment plan that was very affordable for me. I was even able to choose the amount I could pay per month. They took excellent care of my rabbit. However this was my first experience with an animal post-surgery and even with the information and advice for care I was very nervous. Rabbits are delicate and I was worried mine was having a hard time with the recovery (not eating/drinking, not pooping, and would sit very still which is a sign of pain). I got a hold of Dr. Kenzie and she offered to take my rabbit home to care for her and make sure she pulled through the recovery free of charge. She took great care of her. She also guided me more in caring for my rabbit. Dr. Kenzie really has a way with rabbits. Mine will not sit still for nail clipping but Dr. Kenzie is able to keep her calm and makes it look so easy. I believe I was only charged for nail clipping once and that was because that was the reason for the visit. She's always willing and available to give advice (again free of charge). She even responded to my emails while she was on vacation. Dr. Kenzie even offered to take care of my rabbit while I traveled home (9 hours from London). Unfortunately she was also out of town the same time I was leaving, but she was very helpful in trying to find another to care for her. I moved to another part of the city and went to visit another animal hospital that was nearby and although I didn't have a negative experience, I really much prefer Masonville Animal Hospital. The people at the other clinic (on Wonderland) were not as friendly. I felt that their prices were higher, they had longer waiting times, and they were less accommodating. Staff at Masonville always seem very friendly and it is very evident that they love each and every animal that comes through the door. I truly believe that Masonville Animal Hospital takes the best possible care for you and your pet. I moved from London last year and really miss this animal hospital.

I bring all of my furbabies to VCA Masonville Animal Hospital. The staff, besides being knowledgeable, have always been supportive and caring. I am glad that we always get a full exam with every visit...they have noticed things that needed care even when it wasn't our specific reason for going to the vet in the first place. I appreciate being offered estimates for any possible procedures, that way I can both plan for and save for the treatments my furbabies need. Thank you Masonville!

Great intake procedure and on boarding.

We've been patients of this clinic for close to 10 years. When Dr. Kirby was the head doctor at the clinic, there wasn't another clinic that could touch it (for instance, around a year or so ago we had a pet need emergency surgery- Dr. Kirby met me at the door at 8 am and performed the surgery himself, despite being on "light hours". He then spent the day at the clinic, despite it being his only surgery, meeting me close to 8 pm, just to tell me personally how the surgery went). That said, when I went this past fall, after his retirement, I immediately noticed a change in the clinic. I found that there was less focus on the animals and more on the bottom line- I had thing after thing pushed on me ("specialized food", "optional"- apparently not optional- injections, etc), leading to my bill being triple what I was lead to believe it would be. I informed one of my family members that I would no longer be willing to visit the clinic again- that they would have to do so going forward. This past week I had to take a pet in for an emergency situation- after around forty minutes with the vet (who, all things considered, was an extremely nice individual), it looked as if they couldn't determine why my pet was behaving the way she was- it was only by chance they (apparently) discovered it when they carried her, as they took her in the back room to run a few tests (there was little actual physical touching/ looking at the pet prior to this, more so a Q/A session, as she sat in my lap). Upon the (apparent) discovery, I was led to believe that our pet would be undergoing a fairly routine procedure. When I went to leave the clinic, I was offered little to no "words of wisdom", aside from medicating them (ie. suggestions as to how to do so more easily would have been nice). During the waiting period until the procedure, our pet took a turn for the worse- upon calling the clinic, they initially booked me an appointment about an hour and a half later. However, five minutes later, they called me back and told me to go to another clinic. They indicated that, "If you take her there, they'll be able to do the procedure much sooner than we will." When I arrived at the referral clinic I was shocked to discover that the tests that Masonville had run days earlier indicated that my pet was on the verge of death- her organs failing her (according to the doctor, "One of the worst set of results she had ever seen"). On top of which, she also had a stage 2 heart murmur. Not once in the few days Masonville had her results (or the TWO times I spoke to them on that fateful day) had they bothered to inform us of her late stage diagnosis or offer to push up her procedure, in the hopes of bettering her chances. The vet at the referral clinic was equally as shocked that we hadn't been notified of any of the above. We went from thinking our pet was instead going to have her run of the mill procedure at this other clinic, to being euthanized within an hour of arriving there. Not only were we shocked and heartbroken, but our pet was in unnecessary pain for days- which could have prevented if they had just bothered to call us. When I did call to inform Masonville of what had transpired and my disappointment of not having received the results I PAID FOR, I received zero sympathy (not even a "sorry for your loss"), instead, I was essentially hung up on with a brusque, "I'll look into it". I hope that Masonville will go back to the caring and compassionate clinic it once was- and until it does, I can't say that we'll be frequenting it again. ~~~~~~~ EDIT: Following our call to the clinic/ this review, a "third party" vet at Masonville called a few days later. She was extremely (sincerely) apologetic for the oversight. While the test results were complete 24 hours later, our original vet was off when they did arrive. Therefore, in her absence, they "sat on a desk". This vet indicated that they will work on their office procedures to ensure no pet goes "forgotten". Her sincerity was very much appreciated- but the whole situation is still tough to swallow.

After my previous vet with my kitties being a bad experience, I needed to find a new vet for my 3 month old puppy. After research, asking friends and family, and word of mouth we settled on Masonville. Let us tell ya, we are SO impressed. They made Winston Bishop SO comfortable and he had a great time. I had to put my 17 year old cat down yesterday and it was the hardest thing I had to do. The staff is very accommodating and has a great set up. They didn't push anything on us or try and convince us to do anything we didn't want to do. The vet was so sweet and did a great job. I would recommend this vet to anyone.

Every time I use this clinic the staff are friendly to me and my pets. The vets and techs are excellent! Thank you for taking care of my cat Loki. You guys are wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. The place is clean and doesn't smell like pee and poo. My cat Loki was scared and peed himself but the girl that took us in was very gracious and offer to wash his little blanket. I will not give names as I don't know all the names involved but I want to acknowledge the fact that they took the time to explain everything after Loki was neutered. Thank you again.

We had a really great experience here this evening after a rather concerning incident with one of our dogs. I called at 630pm after she had collapsed on a walk to inquire if i should bring her to emerg or ok to wait for a next day appoinment and they made arrangements for me to come before they closed for the evening. Our dog has only been in a handful of times in her 12 years but she was given urgent service. They asked appropriate questions, gave lots of advice, recommended treatment and tests along with advance notice of pricing for each procedure and offered to make specialist referrals if we wished further testing. Before leaving we were given clear instructions on how to handle a similar issue if it happened again and strict instructions on when to head immediately to emerg without delay. We were treated with respect and compassion and are confident our girl received a caring experience. Thank you.

It's interesting that "AMY D" has nothing to say about Masonville at all, yet posts a 1 star and just runs down the other positive reviews, vaguely admits using 2 accounts to post reviews, then accuses Dr. Kenzie of using duplicate accounts. It appears you are the one using duplicate accounts, Selina, Amy, or whatever name you go by today. I assure you I am a real person, and a happy customer of M.A.H. And no, Dr. Kenzie did not ask me to write a review. Ironically, I am questioning whether you are real, as it doesn't sound like you have actually visited the same place you and I are reviewing. Your personal attacks and your constant vitriol among other satisfied customers isn't becoming of you and it takes away what little credibility you may have built up via your inconsistent story posted as Selina E. If your rabbit died naturally shortly after you took it to M.A.H., then you had waited too long. I run a moderate sized rabbit rescue, and know about rabbit health and illnesses. Since you give no details as to your rabbit, we can only guess and assume it was something sudden and serious, like eating something he shouldn't have had access to, being injured at home, or having gastric stasis ignored for too long. Either way, it is not a veterinarian's fault that your pet had chance to fall so far into poor health before they got to see it. I started using Masonville Animal Hospital after Dr. Kenzie came to that location. I needed a good vet that knew about rabbits, and those vets are hard to find. I have had many of our pet and rescued rabbits in to see Dr. Kenzie, and have always found her personable, caring, and very knowledgeable. She genuinely loves rabbits. Her treatments she has provided us have definitely resulted in many more healthy and happy years that we could share with our bunnies. She has done neutering, X-rays, and some more minor surgeries on many of our rabbits, as well as our dog, and has always shown a genuine care for each of our animals. She has shared a lot of her knowledge with us at no charge so we could take better care of our rabbits, some of which come to us in less than healthy condition. She has always advised based on what is best for the animal's interests and health, rather than selling her services. Dr. Kenzie has gone above and beyond the call of duty on several occasions for us, even donating her time after hours in emergencies. She also boarded one of our medically fragile rabbits personally, at her house while we went on vacation since she could not give documented proof of clean health required for this bunny to travel. On the rare occasions when we have had to bring in a pet for their "final vet visit", the staff at Masonville and especially Dr. Kenzie were very supportive, sympathetic, and caring. When our senior dog had suffered a debilitating stroke and again when our 13 year old house rabbit was blind, partially deaf and very arthritic, our animals and us were treated with gentleness, patience and sympathy. Decisions were left to us, without any pressure. We presently have 5 rabbits, and if needed, I would take them to Masonville Animal Hospital without hesitation. The other staff there have always been friendly, caring and accommodating whether we are bringing one of our animals in for an appointment or just coming in to purchase supplies. I plan to keep using Masonville Animal Hospital, and I hope they keep Dr. Kenzie there.

Everyone I dealt with was very kind and compassionate my cat was dying and they were just so kind I can’t say it enough

Used to be great but it seems like there’s been a change of personnel. We took our dog and kitten here for vaccines + deworming for the kitten. Ended up with a pushy vet that insisted my dog needed dental work when her teeth are fine and a bill that totaled $400+. VCA was my go to but I guess not anymore.

We've been bringing our cat here for a few years & most recently our new puppy and we have nothing but good things to say. This clinic was recommended to us by a friend after the management change because they brought in several new vets who were more up to date in their practice. Eric sees our cat and he's been great, Katie sees our dog & has been great too. There have been a bunch or staff changes but so far everyone we've met have been friendly and helpful. Most of the complaints I see here have to do with price & the other guy leaving. From what we've seen the clinic has been updated alot even since we started bringing our animals here, and they now have a bunch of more recently trained staff who are up to date on current best practice. Prices have gone up, but given the service & facility I feel like we get what we pay for. Also- there seems to always be a friendly bernese mountain dog behind reception. An excellent feature.

Kate Sparling

They are honest and certainly do not try to keep you coming back to raise a big bill the way I have heard some vets do. Our cat was so relaxed there. They took excellent care of her and stayed well under the estimate. The staff is incredibly kind and friendly and are true animal lovers. :)

Shawn L

when i first moved to masonville area , i made a appointment for my dog's vaccine, the reception said my appointment is 9 am but when i got there, she said no its 12, however, she changed my appointment to 9, the vet came in, said hi, let me hold my dog tight, injected, then left, no questions asked no checking, but i knew my dog was healthy so it was ok to me One year later, my dog was pregnant, i took her there, i told the vet my dog had a doubled size big belly, ate a lot, been quiet, but she said she was not sure if my dog was pregnant cause no obvious evident, she sold me some dog food (my dog didn't like it so i returned it) and asked me to come back in 2 weeks. and 1 week after that, 6 puppies were born. I really dont think i am a picky person, but i used to go to another animal clinic in London, the vet was so nice, gave my really good advise and even clipped the dog's nails, im not saying this hospital is bad, it is clean the staff are nice the vet did their job. but i rather to drive 15 mins to get much better service and experiences from other place

We have been taking our pets to Masonville animal hospital for the better part of 6 years. Now, due to poor management and incredibly rude staff, we are looking for a new vet. The reception staff and management are ruining what was once a wonderful clinic. The prices have doubled since last year and they are constantly trying to add on some sort of additional fee to your bill - perhaps to make up for the costly renovations? When I questioned the receptionist about my bill, she was extremely argumentative and disrespectful despite the fact that I was overcharged. She indicated that their prices have gone up since last year and they have added an additional fee to the yearly vaccinations - they should be informing clients that their fees have doubled within a years time when appointments are booked. Yearly vaccinations and heartworm medication went from $420 for both my dogs to $399 for EACH dog!! I was told I would hear back from management regarding my complaints yet management never addressed my concerns. It's unfortunate that this clinic is so poorly managed because most of the veterinarians at the clinic are kind, compassionate and well versed in their practice. I would recommend finding a different vet that isn't looking to overcharge and gouge their loyal customers.

Em Arthurs

Both of my dogs absolutely love coming here. The clinic is always clean, the staff is always pleasant, and the veterinarians always answer all my questions. My pups love all the attention and liver bites they get while in for a visit.

When we brought our sick dog in at the end of the night for our appointment the nurse mel told us we should have gone to the emergency clinic. She was rude while asking questions and then spent several minutes outside the door talking to another employee about how unprofessional the staff was. Bad advertisement for the clinic. We did not feel welcome.

Masonville Animal Hospital now called 'VCA Canada Masonville Animal Hospital' in my personal experience has slowly been going down hill since Dr. David Kirby departed and has now hit rock bottom since Dr. Tyrrel de Langley became the medical director of this now - corporate driven enterprise. It is in both my past experience and of my opinion that dog and cat parents are being ripped off with extortionate prices and for other reasons too. I am extremely sensitive to the 'energy' of people in general and of veterinarians who have taken care of my two cats and dog over the years. I do not like the energy I have encountered there. I have experienced very patient, understanding; reasonable and cost conscious veterinarians throughout my travels out of Canada; so there are other options for a dog or cat parent. Other veterinarians have had modern equipment for a long time but their prices are a third of what Masonville Animal Hospital charges. I would like to once again state in my opinion and in my experience, that if people keep supporting businesses like this, nothing will ever change and we all love our animals as they are a part of our family. I would never recommend the now called ‘VCA Canada Masonville Animal Hospital’ to any pet parent.

I am a first time pet owner and we just got our puppy a week ago- shes eight weeks old. This morning (a Sunday) our puppy woke up very ill with round worms. This clinic was the only clinic i called that was polite and sympathetic to my worry. They fit us in and less than two hours after my phone call my dog was treated. The staff were very polite to me and made our puppy, who is very shy in new situation, very comfortable. They let me know when her next vaccination should be without me having to ask and weren't bothered at all when i asked them to look up the cost. I would definitely recommend this animal hospital!

Thank you so much to everyone at VCA Masonville/Northdale for taking care of my dog for an emergent case. You all have hearts of gold and I appreciate the kind care my dog and I received. I am so appreciative of you all!

I started to take my bunny Lilley to see Dr. Kenzie a few yeas ago. One day, I found a blood in Lilley's cage - she was hemorrhaging! I called the clinic and Dr. Kenzie was able to provide emergency surgery for a hysterectomy that day. Lilley came through the surgery very well. Dr. Kenzie watched over her after the surgery and Lilley was able to come home the next day. She healed quickly and was back to herself in a couple of days. At her follow up appointment, Dr. Kenzie was very pleased with her progress. Since then, Lilley continues to be a very happy and healthy bunny. Dr. Kenzie just loves to see her any time that I have taken her in for an appointment. Dr Kenzie has always been friendly, kind, gentle and professional every time that I had been to see her. I am truly thankful that Dr Kenzie saved Lilley' life.

I can't say enough good things about this veterinary clinic. The staff is wonderful, and Dr. Hotke is amazing! She has the perfect combination of compassion and competence. If she doesn't know the answer to our questions about our cats, she'll do the research to get the answer. She also provided great care when we had to make the tough decision to have one of our cats euthanized. We LOVE Dr. Hotke! :)

I took my dog Bella for a visit for a really bad ear infection. The service was so incredible and informative, Dr George Awad and staff made sure I understood everything they were doing to my girl and how I could continue to administer medication and care for her in the future, I am so happy with my visit and overall experience that We have permanantly decided to switch to VCA animal clinic to continue seeing Dr. Awad. Highly recommend to any animal lover who wants your baby in safe hands!

The staff here are fantastic- so friendly, they answer every question you might have, and they remember you! Fantastic, definitely recommend masonville animal hospital to be your regular vet.

My lion head rabbit would be dead today if it was not for the quick and wonderful care that he received from Dr. Kenzie. Our rabbit needed surgery as soon as possible. When I asked her for a few minutes to discuss our options with my family, she agreed. She allowed us time to consider our options. We agreed to the surgery and she informed us of the risk . Dr. Kenzie notified us very late that night and inform us that our rabbit had made it through surgery and was doing well. When we picked up our rabbit, Dr. Kenzie was very good at explaining the medication to myself and my daughter. She gave us suggestions about some dietary changes that we need to make for our rabbit. I found that Dr. Kenzie has a lot of knowledge about proper care and dietary needs for rabbits. I feel that Dr. Kenzie went above and beyond her requirements to take care of our rabbit. If my rabbit needs to go to Masonville animal hospital again I will gladly return to Dr. Kenzie.

I've taken my pets to Masonville Animal Hospital to see Dr. Kenzie, and WHAT AN AMAZING TEAM. They are some of the most compassionate and caring people you could meet. You can tell that your pets health is their highest priority. Thank you Dr Kenzie and the ENTIRE Masonville team for making sure my Lucy enters her golden years with her best paw forward ;)

Years ago I would have rated this animal hospital with 5 stars. All the initial vets have now departed and the hospital has become part of corporation. The prices have gone up and they up-sell. In addition, my poor dog died there about two years ago of a heart attack from the anaesthetic for dental surgery. I had told them she had been shaking violently in the car (nerves) and I was worried she wouldn’t be able to handle the anaesthetic. I was assured they had the latest technology and she’d be fine. I should have made the vet check her prior to the surgery. My last memory is of her shaking in my lap on the way to the vet and staring at me. I was heart-broken when I called and found out she was gone. She was my precious baby. Although they covered all the costs and had her laid out very nicely for me to see her, it should not have happened.

The staff are amazing, I play instruments for a living with my dogs by my side in the parking lot behind the animal hospital by the l.c.b.o masonville. And the staff there give me scratched bags of dog food that the cats scratch. It has helped us out immensely.

Super nice staff that take care of my dog like family. Greatly appreciate the effort and fair approach they have taken during the ups and downs of my pups health.

Brendan Chess veterinarian......is the best. My furbaby was sick and they took her right away. Staff is very friendly and they care about your pet because pets are FAMILY.

We used to take our pets to this place and the staff was great. Once the clinic changed to VCA and they had new vets things changed. Prices went way up and there were a bunch of new vets. We had gotten a chihuahua puppy and she seemed very healthy. She was fine with the new vets except for one. I don't want to name him. Our last visit there was horrifying. Our puppy had an enlarged heart and was dying. There was nothing that could of been done for her. We kept telling the vet to put her down as she was suffering. He wouldn't listen and tried to get us to take her to the emergency vet. We said no, she is suffering put her down now. It was heart breaking watching this. Once the vet finally did as we asked I had asked him if she would of made to the emergency clinic. He said probably not. I was so disgusted in his service that I will never go back there again. You can decide for yourself.

We have recently left this clinic and do not recommend it for any owner of a dog with anxiety and/or aggression towards other animals. While the vast majority of staff are very pleasant and work well overall with the animals brought in there is a culture amongst the staff of not taking warnings and precautions seriously when prompted to do so. Employee pet dogs often roam freely within the clinic, even when assured all animals are secured you can quite often find that is in fact not the case. On our final visit a week ago there was a cat that staff had to remove as it was openly wandering through the waiting area. We have never encountered this at any other vet clinic in our history of pet ownership, only cats kept safely behind the front desk at prior clinics. Thus we have been unwilling to allow the staff to take our dog to the back area not only because he does better anxiety wise by our side but also because we simply can not trust their words or actions after repeatedly witnessing lax behaviour of one handed leash holding while not paying attention to their surroundings or having other animals secured as they claim. Our dog is 140lb molosser breed genetically built for burst and takedown, no matter how we tried to explain that it was never taken seriously. We left this clinic because we are no longer willing to roll the dice knowing the outcome could be something tragically irreversible. All vets at this clinic are quite good for our needs save one, Dr George. When questioning his behaviour to a vet tech she informed us that Dr George had a past negative encounter with two large breed dogs similar to ours. It is abundantly clear to us that he is uncomfortable. Dr George is hesitant to approach our dog despite having explained the dog has no history of human aggression. He regularly flinched during every appointment with him potentially creating unnecessary suspicion for a dog with a naturally acute radar. Two years ago Dr George was so hesitant to properly examine our dog for a jaw issue that he completely brushed us off as over reacting to our dog losing the ability to open his mouth as he once could. Despite repeated examples offered of the recent difference in his ability and behaviour, including the dog yelping in pain when yawning and steadily declining to a 3 inch yawn we were told not to expect our dog to be able to open his mouth wide just because he’s a big dog. He asked us to pry the dogs mouth open so he could see how far it would go which if followed through on likely would have caused the dog great discomfort and possibly further damage. His exam was nothing to speak of. He ultimately stated he agreed to a referral for a CT scan on our insistence and for liability, not because he felt it necessary or recommended it. This was the single worst veterinary appointment we have ever witnessed. At our next appointment a different vet at the clinic agreed something was very wrong. Post CT scan our dog was taken to Toronto and endured two jaw surgeries in the span of four days to correct the issue, a bone overgrowth on his orbital bone causing a lockjaw effect, they had to wire the bone back in place after removing the growth, not a minor procedure or non issue. At no point after being informed of the situation did Dr George address with us his lack of proper care for our dog, unlike multiple other vets at the clinic who readily apologized, admitted and agreed the ball had been dropped. Recently this clinic has changed policies with new management. They are no longer willing to perform any procedures outside, even nail trims citing the possibility of pet escape. Through most of Covid we have been able to get many services outside with no issue or concern from staff. Given our unwillingness to hand our dog off we had as obligated continued to pay for care club without actually getting services until our contract expired this month. This clinic is great for the average cat or dog but not the right clinic for a dog like ours. Despite our ongoing struggles with this clinic we wish its staff success in the future.

I absolutely love this place they treat me and my dog with respect and they do a great job with helping my dog get better I 110% recommend that you take your animal to this location, I have one final word for this review and that is, phenomenal.

We had moved into the Masonville area four years ago and had heard wonderful things about this clinic and it's employees. Booked an appointment for a meet and greet and at that time were extremely delighted at the staff. In the last years, we have noticed the huge effects of corporate involvement. All new doctors, nurses and manager. The employee turn around was overwhelmingly disheartening. People we had trusted and liked with the healthcare of our family for years; were told had left or were removed due to "not a good fit" This leaves us to believe that this is no longer a clinic we can trust for our dogs. The new technician that assisted our doctor, rolled her eyes and deemed his information as dismissive. Staff seen here as discourse. Services are extremely high, and we feel that we can no longer support this new managing and the VCA corporation model.

We missed our deceased cat! A month ago we took our cat to this place because of a bleeding issue. According to them the cat was okay and bleeding was probably caused by stress. He was poorly diagnosed and we lost a member of our family...Saturday morning he was vomiting blood and took him to the ER. It was too late... so we had to put him asleep. Wife and kids are having a very hard time. Worst experience ever. I trusted this guys... Stay away from this place!

Georgeta Vochin

Too expeditiv consultation! Not enough advice for home care from the veterinary doctor!

Dlle Grenville

The service at the welcome/front desk and over the phone has declined as I've experienced now on many occasions as a monthly customer; this had mainly taken place since the clinic transitioned to new management. It's unfortunate because they have capable vets but as a result of the intentional arrogance and inconsiderate staff members who you must interact with to set appointments and assist in purchasing pet food, I have moved to another veterinary clinic after about 8-10 years with this one.

Kristen Boyd

I'm sad to say after 7 years today's experience has us looking for a new vet. Since Dr.Kirby left this place is terrible!!! Prices have DOUBLED staff are rude and push treatments and medications that our healthy pups don't need. Now that they have been bought by a big corporation it's all about money and not about the pets health and well being!!!! I do not recommend this vet clinic at all!!!!

I could not be happier. Great service, great hours, HUGE food selection, friendly and hardworking staff who make sure everything is done to ensure our pet's well being. Before all of this COVID stuff, we had to take our dog in. I had noted how sparkly clean was, even the back room, which definitely puts your mind at ease when you need to leave your pets there for surgery or other types of care. Thank you for being pawsome & a huge thank you for still being open during COVID-19. Sweet Pea loves seeing you!

I have only had positive experiences at this clinic. My dog has been treated by Dr. Kenzie and Dr. Parker and I feel that she has received excellent care every time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either of these Doctors to care for you pet know matter what type of pet you have.

Always took my bunny here. Great service and very caring vet.

Im only giving a 2 because i liked how the vets treated my puppy and they were very thorough with me about what she needs done and let me make the decisions about what i wanted to do. But the reception is a different problem. I have booked 2 times over the phone for an appt and both time when i have shown up they say that I dont have an appt and then tell me i can wait and see if they can try to fit me in between appt but that i could be waiting a long time. No real apologies or anything about the inconvenience and no taking ownership of the issue. I got home and immediately made an appt with northdale animal hospital and the receptionist there sounded like she was competent enough to make and keep the appt.

Please avoid taking your beloved pets to this clinic. At first glance the staff appear to be very nice but when it comes to more serious matter they’re just insincere money grabbers. Kenzie is especially the worst of them all and should not be a vetenerian because she does not care about the animals; only her wallet.

I'm surprised how shameful Dr Kenzie can be as a person. A week after a review about how she was not remorseful about a rabbit's death in her care for 24 hours, 5 reviews (coincidentally) appeared around the same time about what an animal goddess she is. I believe that this is no coincidence, either she instructed others to do this, or she personally wrote these reviews herself. Either way, this just further proves what a horrible person she is and should definitely be avoided. R.I.P beautiful little rabbit. <3

The website main page that lists, "The client friendly hours of Masonville Animal Hospital provide veterinary care and treatment for general medical and surgical conditions including daytime emergencies on Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays 9-5" is not all it's cracked up to be. Took my cat in because he had something wrong with him and was told they were booked and I would have to try somewhere else. How do I book for an emergency? They couldn't even recommend where I could go to seek prompt medical care for my cat.

Just switched from Masonville to Whitehills after 20 years with Dr. Kirby. The staff and vets are not nearly as qualified as one would expect for the amount they overcharge for service. They seem very interested in making a quick (and often incorrect diagnosis) and getting paid. There was never any followup to see if medications were working. The staff at Whitehills are excellent and clearly care more about the pets and less about the paycheque. also, since Dr. Kirby left there has been a revolving door of vets coming and going so it would seem that something is wrong in the organization. Dr. Kirby did not retire but apparently is now in Strathroy.

Daniel Litman

Ask for Dr. Kyle Salvati. Best vet there. My maine coon kitten adores him. Average price - above average standards.

My father in law called to book spading for his puppy. Was quoted 1400$. Called around and everyone else was $350. Books with another vet. Calls to cancel with Masonville and they dropped their price to 700$ instantly. Way to go VCA. We were also customers at this place but will never go back.

Thomas Donner

I wanted to write a review to complain about a recent experience but now that I read some other people's misinformed and ignorant reviews I decided to change the tone a bit. We have owned cats for 25 years and have sampled the services of about 3 veterinary clinics in the north end of town.We have stuck with Dr. Kirby and his group the longest because they are by far better than the rest. Most of our experience has been with Dr. Kirby and Dr. Parker. They are both excellent diagnosticians and they definitely have never tried to up-sell us on anything. Their rates are actually better that we found elsewhere and they do what is necessary to keep your pet safe and healthy without going overboard with the treatments and vaccines. My only beef with the clinic (and the reason for not giving 5 stars) is that we have had to wait on some occasions for up to 30 minutes to see a vet after we were put in the exam room. Trying to control a loose cat in a hot exam room is not pleasant. That's just a pet peeve of mine. If I make it to my appointment on time you should too. If you are looking for a vet you will do yourself and your pet a favour by choosing these guys. They are very good at what they do (albeit at times late for appointments)

J Rob

I was so blown away with the help Dr. Chess gave to our German Shepherd, Luna. Took the time to explain everything in great detail to me and didn’t rush anything at all. Broke down all costs and lab results and helped me make the best dedications possible. The staff there got us in last min even though we had never been there before and the service was great. I would definitely recommend this Vet and Dr. Chess to anybody.
