There are only a handful of vets in Ontario that provide laparoscopic spay surgery for dogs so we decided to drive to Toronto to have it done at this facility. It was handled very professionally and my puppy recovered quickly compared to the traditional method and it was less painful with only three internal stitches.

The staff and vet are nice and easy to talk to, however I'm not sure the vet is competent on his profession. I took my senior cat to this vet twice before I realized something was really off and changed vets, unfortunately that was about 5 weeks time and now my cat is gone. I took him to this place initially because he wasn't eating we did a blood exam and the answer I got was that he was healthy with just had a little iron deficiency, it was obvious to me that he was in pain so I asked about that and got gabapentin prescribed, fast forward 3 weeks my baby lost more than half his body weight and in a second visit all I got was metacam and a meek "yes, he lost a lot of weight...", then 2 weeks passed, he was worse, I asked for his blood results and was appalled to see it wasn't normal. I took him to another vet and they told me he was anemic, severely dehydrated, in a lot of pain with some underlying conditioning that needed investigating; they gave him fluids, apetite stimulate and requested an ultrasound and asked me to keep the metacam and gabapentin going. Unfortunately it all took too long and my baby passed last Monday, before we could get the ultrasound. It all took too long, if only I had found a vet that takes their profession seriously earlier... He might still be with me. I don't know how they are we doggies but I don't recommend for cats. If your baby has anything serious go somewhere else.

Took my 5lb dog in the dead of winter -30 degrees. They told my dog couldn't come in because they thought he had kennel cough. Stood out in the snow as the vet came to listen to his heart, take his temp etc. Confirmed he has kennel cough, gave me meds and charged me full price. My dog got worse so I had to go elsewhere. My dog actually had an undiagnosed heart murmur, water in his lungs and heart failure. They nearly killed my little guy :(. His heart murmur was apparently so loud and it blew the other vets mind that they couldn't hear it, never mind making my tiny dog stay outside for a checkup

I have been taking my 1 year old Sheepadoodle to Eglinton Vet for the past year since we got her. On Friday of the long weekend, she broke all 4 bones in her paw when we were up north and had to be referred to an orthopedic surgeon, but of course, because it was the long weekend, none were working till the following week. I called Eglinton Vet to get advice on Friday night after getting back to our cottage (as we had to take her to a hospital up north) and Dr. Bateman was outstanding. She calmed me down and assured me she would call and see if she could get Nelly in to see a surgeon asap. I woke up Saturday morning with an email from her at 9am with an appointment set for Tuesday morning. I was blown away by how quickly she jumped into action, even on the long weekend! I have had family dogs with other vets and have never had such an amazing experience. You want a vet that cares for your dog and not $$$. I guarantee Eglinton Vet is the best choice and will go above and beyond to help you!

I found Eglinton vet through word of mouth and I am so so happy to hsve found them! I've taken my dog here twice for non-urgent issues and the staff are amazing. Dr. Bev Bateman is so kind and shows genuine affection and care towards my dog. She gives great advice, doesn't try to upsell you to other expensive treatments and actively tries to save you money by being truthful and honest with what you need. I asked her about pet insurance and she gave me a lot of great advice and did up a quote with the most routine care visits might cost to try and help me figure out if it's worth getting a wellness package or not. The other girls at the clinic are fantastic and so nice. My pooch is a recent rescue with some fear and anxiety issues and they totally make her feel comfortable and she actually loves coming her (the endless supply of treats helps). All in all, I'm so happy to have this clinic near by and know that everyone there is kind, caring, passionate about their patients well-being. I wouldn't take her any where else.

Truly an amazing veterinary office. All staff members have a clear love and passion for working with animals and are very friendly with pet parents too. Prices are reasonable but the quality of service is what matters most. One of our cats has to have regular bloodwork done and they have gotten to know how she likes to be handled and how to quickly do the procedure to keep her calm. Always very gentle but firm during regular check-ups and are great at answering any questions we have regarding our two cats' needs.

If I could give 10 stars or more, I would. I have ALWAYS found them to be professional and caring. I had 2 puppies (don't ask my why .. LOL). They were always patient with me. One time my English Springer Spaniel, at 4 months, didn't seem right when I woke up at 5am for work. He just wasn't himself. I remember knocking on their door at 7am (before they were open) in the pouring rain. I was panicked and afraid. Dr. Watson took me in and helped me get him better. He even called me later that day to check on my Oliver. He was great. I had some interaction with all the doctors at some point and they were all amazing. My main doctor was Dr. Grandish and I cannot think of anything to say that would reflect the amazing person she is. If you are looking for a vet who really cares about your pets, you would be a fool not to call them.

My husband and I love Eglinton Vet. Dr Watson was our primary vet when we had a senior dog, and he coached us through his various illnesses until the end. He was always available for advice on the phone, and always gave us great advice, including referring us to a specialist when our dog's eyes were beyond the means of standard care. Dr Bateman helped us with aftercare from when we had brought one of our cats to the emergency vet, and she was absolutely wonderful. We have referred friends here, and now have a new rescue dog that we bring here, along with our 2 cats. All of the staff have been extremely supportive as we've taken on a very difficult dog and are happy to offer advice and support. Having been to many different vets over years, Eglinton Vet, and specifically Dr Watson and Dr Bateman, are by far my favourite.

I am not a client of this clinic but it is close to my office so I have bought cat food here. They sold me a bag of dry cat food that was expired by two months! The bag was very dusty, looked like it had been sitting in a back room for years, but I did not look at the expiry date until I was already home. I would NOT recommend buying your pet food here, or at the very least check the expiration date before you purchase.

The team at Eglinton Veterinary are A+. My 6 month old puppy had a laparoscopic spay surgery 4 days ago with Dr. Peiman Hojjati. At pick up she was drowsy and in pain for the rest of the evening (understandably so), but by the next morning she was back to normal — surprising as we expected her to be in pain for at least a couple of days. The hardest part of this process so far is trying to keep her less active than usual. Her energy levels are not affected by the medicine at all. She also looks super cute in her turtleneck onesie! Today we took her in for her post op check and all was looking good. This experience has been great for us as first time dog parents. I highly recommend this place. Especial thanks to all the techs for your attentive care and kindness in answering all my questions prior, during and after the surgery.

The Great Lockdown

I recently popped into a new clinic that opened up near my office and saw a marked improvement in the care my cat and dog received vs our experiences at Eglinton Veterinary Facilities over the past 9-years. I should have wised up years ago when there was a peach pit stuck in my dogs stomach causing her to vomit. I took her in multiple times with this concern - spent hundreds of dollars. Each time I was told there was nothing in her stomach, and she was vomiting due to food allergies. Months later she was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after vomiting blood...the cause, peach pit!!!!!! Since then there have been several other incidents where concerns I had surrounding their dental health were dismissed – later progressing to other symptoms - which were misdiagnosed and assumed to be unrelated. These issues could have been prevented before they progressed and caused pain, complications and thousands of dollars in reactive care rather than receiving proactive care. I did write the clinic recently to let them know why I have not returned - these are my fur babies after all - but no response. For the love of your pet...consider another clinic!

We just adopted a puppy and were looking all over the city for vets. After doing some light research online, I found this vet while search for spay-neuter clinics. They are one of 3 clinics in the city that conduct all their spay/neuters laparoscopically which reduces puppy down time to a few days. Their prices are fair in comparison to others in the area, even cheaper than some standard spays in the area. Dr. Bev was a delight to work with and was so helpful to answer all of our questions for our new puppy. She helped us get pet insurance, taught us about biting and feeding schedules and was all around incredible. They also have an email monitored by an on-call vet in case of emergency when they are not open (which is really only part of Saturday and all day Sunday). A year ago, we moved from the Queens Quay area to the Yonge & Eglinton neighbourhood and were apprehensive of consulting a new clinic for our four-year old Lagotto Romagnolo. A huge consideration as Matteo had been visiting the same veterinarian since he was nine weeks old. Well, because of COVID-19 and not owning a car, we took a chance and brought him to Eglinton Veterinary Facilities, a short walk from our apartment, for the team to have a look at his ear infection. Charges are reasonable as compared to other veterinary clinics and much lower than the charges at the VEC Veterinary Emergency Clinic at Yonge / McMurrich. I have two cats and a dog. Dr. Watson takes great care of all of them. For more complex procedures, e.g. complex dental extractions, ultrasound, echocardiograms, CT scans, and for anything requiring overnight care, we have to go to the VEC.

Follow up post on this great facility. My cat caught an eye infection and I was 39 weeks pregnant and worried that if I didn't get it addressed ASAP I wouldn't be able to manage afterward. With a new pup in the family I was looking for a new vet. Everyone I used to bring my previous dogs for over 20 years has either retired or has become too outdated in terms of what is happening in the veterinary medicine these days. It was time for a change. The situation with vet care in the city has become critical: long wait times, clinics trying to sell you services you don't need. One clinic even insisted that a routine spray required an overnight stay, even though I had two dogs sprayed before and pretty much know it is a very routine surgery. Based on the reviews and what I read about Eglinton Vet expertise and procedures, I decided to give them a try. I am so glad I found them. Everyone is so caring, they really try to make your pet as comfortable as they can. They don't want your pet suffering unnecessary stress so they try to make everything happen as fast as possible. The surgery was completed by 12:30pm and we were on the way home by 5pm, no unnecessary delays. My dog was very alert and playful, which tells me the sedation was mild and very carefully administered. Communication from the clinic was amazing, I was not left counting hours to get a status call, the doctor called me before the procedure and right after and pick up was scheduled right away too. As a seasoned pet owner, I have seen a lot of vets over the years, and can 100% recommend this clinic, they are truly amazing.

It is very difficult these days not being able to go into your vet with your pet and therefore I put off bringing in my cat, who has has a cyst over his eye for months. Since he had an unfortunate incident ( not the vet’s fault) at his old vet, he would be extremely nervous to go without me in attendance. I decided to bring him to this vet clinic because of their great reviews and because it was really close. My cat Charlie, had no issues and enjoyed his visit here. Dr. “Josh” personally came out to talk to me about Charlie ‘s cyst and what my options were. He also promised to further investigate other options that may not involve surgery. Great service, quick (in and out within 25 minutes), and overall just a good experience and all the folks there are passionate about what they do. There is both street parking and residential parking for 1 hour in the surrounding neighbourhood street which make if convenient if you are driving.

Fantastic vet. I have been taking my dog moxie to another vet in Scarborough for about three years now. She injured her eye and we found out that it was a corneal ulcer. I have been visiting that vet for about three straight months and her eye showed no signs of recovery. I took my 9 year old cat here in the summer for an annual check-up, I was also concerned because he started eating his litter and had a few cough attacks (which I took video of and showed them). Dr. Jessica Grandish said that he was healthy and that the litter eating was just some sort of odd behavior and the cough was nothing to be concerned about but to monitor it. A month later I noticed my cat's left arm fell asleep and he couldn't walk on it - he eventually bounced back like nothing happened, but it happened a couple times, so I brought him back to the vet and again she didn't seem too concerned about it. We then had to tell her to please take a blood test. She EMAILED me the next day with the results saying that one of his white blood cell counts was high, which could indicate that he had some sort of parasite, and that we should put him on a deworming medication for 2 weeks. She also mentioned that she was going into a long weekend and that if I had any questions to contact the clinic. She didn't even call me, she made it seem like it wasn't a big deal by emailing me. She's lazy and has zero compassion. We went to the clinic on the Monday, (because she said she would be there) to pick up the medication, she didn't even come outside to give it to us, or explain anything to us, she had an assistant bring it out and he just said follow the instructions on the package. She never followed up with us to see how he was doing or if we needed to check his blood again. I felt like he was fine, but as time went on I started to notice he was losing weight. I ended up booking an appt with a different vet because I wanted a second opinion, but we didn't make it in time and ended up having to take him to emergency - his health was getting worse . They had to keep him overnight. They ran a bunch of test and found out that he is anemic (reason for eating litter) - why didn't she tell me this when she did the blood work??? They also felt 2 large tumors around his stomach. How come she didn't notice that??? They did an ultrasound and a biopsy and it turned out that he had lymphoma. We had to put him down cause he was in so much pain for the last week of his life. I am so disappointed with this place, I put my trust in her, and I just felt like Dr. Jessica Grandish was so dismissive. Almost made me feel like I was overreacting each time we brought him in. She is lazy, negligent and shows zero compassion. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE.

When you call with a question, or to make an appointment, the person on the other end of the phone seems to know everything that has ever happened to your dog. They’re very organized! Normally I go to a different vet closer to my home, but wanted to have my puppy spayed with a laparoscopic surgery. After some researching, I found Eglinton Veterinarian. I don't usually write reviews but I have really found them top notch and have been wanting to leave a review. They are very professional and helpful. They have a solid procedure in place to make sure the puppy is examined and vetted before surgery and after. I spoke with different vets there and they were all very patient with all questions (which to them I'm sure are the same questions from worried puppy owners over and over and seem silly to them as professionals) - but all I ever got were patient, friendly and detailed explanations. The price is decent, only slightly higher than my regular vet's asking price for a traditional spay. After the first visit and even after surgery (at the post op visit) my puppy was still happy to go in for an examination, so apparently they were nice to her too. My puppy recovered quickly after surgery. I also found their approach to pain medication great - they obviously take the pet's needs and comfort serious. I also found all of their instructions very clear and easy to follow. All in all they really exceeded my expectations and it was worth the 1hr drive! They all seem to truly care for the pets, are friendly to the pet owner and seem to really know their profession!

I took my 3 months old kitten, Pepper, for a first time vet visit. Dr. Bateman was very knowledgeable and kindly answered all of the first cat parent questions that I had. I loved how I can see through the way she talks about Pepper, how much she loved animals. I feel confident in having Dr. Bateman as part of my cat’s overall health. She is the best! I cannot express enough gratitude for how Eglinton Vet Facilities handled the passing of my 17 year old Jack Russell terrier last year. I was a sobbing mess when I took my dog, Joy, to the clinic. They treated me with so much kindness and allowed me to grieve. They treated Joy with the so much humility, and I believe that she had her last moments with the utmost dignity. Thank you, thank you Dr. Watson. To all the vet techs, you are awesome. I know all of you must love animals but you guys take it to a whole other level! This used to be an amazing Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Bob Watson is the best in every aspect of care & personality. The front desk is also wonderful if it is Melanie or Sharon. I have unfortunately of late been disrespected & threatened by their office manager “Matthew”. I have been excused of swearing at the techs, on one recent visit, which I did not. I had a witness with me who came forward to correct the situation. I had not sworn at all. I also called and apologized to the tech, just because... I have been a customer of this office for years, with 2 diabetic cats & serious surgery. My cat was in today for testing & it was an all day affair for him. I spoke to Dr. Bateman in the am., who stated that his sugars where high, but because she would not be there later, Dr. Hodges would inform me of the new dose of insulin for my cat, she declined to do so. I was upset & frustrated. I then got to witness their office manager sling verbal threats at me. I told him, as I told Dr. Bateman that I was having a very difficult time with anxiety & depression due to a chronic illness & recent traumatic event. This meant nothing to their office manager & told me how to act during a panic attack. Dr. Hodges could also care less. This clinic needs some training on mental illness & how at times a trigger could go off for the parent of a pet. I am tired of the stigma of depression & anxiety in situations like this... yet I told them. It is recent that my cat has become a diabetic & my situation as well. I was told by their threatening manager “Matthew” I was on tape. I said great, let’s see it... intimidating me. I will be taking this to the Mental Health/Human Rights Office. Also my dollars stop as of today & I still do not know what my sweet cat needs in dosage of insulin. I love Dr. Watson, Melanie & Sharon they are the best and have dealt with them for years. To them I say thank you.

The hospital is always clean and the staff at the front desk are great. My Dad was a vet so I can get really picky, Eglinton service is really top notch. Caring and courteous.
