Very unpleasant experience with front line staff. Their vaccinations are expensive compared to competition and I wax basically refused service because I took my cats for vaccination somewhere else. Thankfully I found another clinic in town that cared enough to provide professional advice on the subject matter and got my business because they cared enough to show their value for my pets well being, as opposed to taking a stand asking for a bigger wallet share. In fairness, I have not met their vets, however the way their staff handled the conversation was both unpleasant and concerning for me as a potential customer.

Been taking my cats and my new pup here after a negative experience at my former vet. My first visit was a rather traumatic one as it was discovered that my cat was suffering from the late stages of lung cancer and we decided it was best to end her pain as soon as possible. Recently I had to say good bye to my 18 year old Siamese cat. He was a member of our family and the decision was heart breaking. I made the decision and called Beechmount Animal Hospital in the morning at 8am. I am not a client of this vet clinic.... but they made the time and fit us in. By 9am I was there with my Chin Chin. The process was really good and my experience very positive. When I entered the room he was brought into me and we laid him down on a cozy little pad of blankets.... They used one of the small blankets I brought on the top. They gave me as much time as I needed and when the vet entered she was patient and kind.... Gently petting my Chin Chin with me. I feel that the process was beautiful and as good as it could be for what it was..... They again gave me more time after he passed. The staff at the clinic were kind, empathetic and genuine. I am so happy they could help me during this difficult time... That they were so good to my beautiful cat. I highly recommend....

We have nothing but great things to say about Beechmount Animal Hospital! Our three cats see Dr. Boa and Dr. Jill for their regular check-ups, but our visits became more frequent as our two year old cat, Tino, developed bladder stones. Dr. Jill was extremely knowledgeable when answering our many questions during this stressful time. We felt no hesitation leaving Tino in Beechmount's care as she underwent surgery, as all staff members treated Tino as if she were their own. We were updated every step of the way via call, text and photos on the day of surgery, which helped relieve our nerves. To this day, Dr. Jill continues to monitor Tino and provides recommendations to prevent stone formation in the future. From start to finish, Beechmount Animal Hospital turned a stressful experience into a positive one. Highly recommend!

We have enjoyed outstanding service at Beechmount Animal Hospital. We have 3 dogs and they took care of our cat, Lucy Locket as well. It is a real tribute to a vet when you feel they have taken care of your whole family during the loss of a beloved pet. You never feel rushed in an examination. they take the time to tell you what the problem is, go over the options for treatment, and help train you in the essential followup nursing after treatment. We have consulted all the vets at one time or another but our "own" vet is Dr. Jill Blathwayt. She is wonderful with all our pets but has a particular genius in taking care of our obstreperous Jack Russell. I never thought I'd say this, but Cheepie positively looks forward to seeing Dr. Jill.

My family has been bringing their pets to Beechmount Animal Hospital for years, so I decided to bring my dog here too. With my dog, I've had several negative experiences - the most disappointing of which being the time when she got loose and ran towards the road because they tied their leash to her harness instead of correctly fastening it around her neck. Following this experience, they were harsh in the way they handled my dog. For example, they abruptly released her from spay surgery without a cone or time to observe her because she was too anxious (the most anxious I've ever seen her) and difficult to handle. I was also never asked or told about things like spay surgery or flea and tick medicine - things I'm not sure every new pet owner knows about. I had to research these things on my own to figure out what I wanted for my dog and when. This may be largely due to the fact that I've only ever had the opportunity to speak to the vet once throughout the course of a year. When I finally decided to let Beechmount Animal Hospital know that I would be changing vets, they never asked why or expressed any sympathy, compassion, or fault for putting my dog's safety in question. My family has had nothing but good things to say about Beechmount Animal Hospital (especially Jill who is an amazing vet) up until now, so I truly hope that this is just an anomaly.

I rarely write reviews, but had to for this place! Have taken my senior cat here a few times now and staff have always been great and friendly. They have squeezed her in very quickly twice now for emergencies. Dr. Jill is always very informative and knowledgeable, and never rushes to have you out - she is always patient and thorough with both the cat and I.

I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't catch my cat's tooth decay. I brought him in last June when he had a drooling problem. The vet told me he had allergies and didn't offer to do a check up meanwhile they charged me for the price of a check-up. I don't know what the symptoms of tooth decay are, but I mistakenly trusted they would notice indicators of any real problem. His bad breath, drooling, and obvious tartar build-up (later pointed out by a different vet) should have been signs. I brought my other cat here before, and felt comfortable with this clinic's honest and sincere attitude, but I need to recheck my other cat at a different clinic because I no longer trust Beechmount to be reliable and proactive with my animals screenings.

I had brought my dog in for the first time when I was still attending school in Waterloo and have been going back ever since (it's been almost 10 years since I graduated and moved back to Toronto). The vets there are very professional, reliable and never recommends anything unless it's truly needed! My dog had a major dental surgery last year - the procedure was done extremely well and he had a speedy recovery! The staff were very attentive every time we visited and cost is always reasonable, thank you Dr.Boa and Beechmount!

If you want a vet that is professional, friendly, has extreme integrity, and always thinks of your beloved pet's and their family's welfare before all else, you must contact Dr. Boa. When I moved to Waterloo, I went through several vets before finding him. Now, 14 years (and a family total of 4 dogs) later, I cannot say enough good things about him. Such a caring place! My Mom brought her guinea pig "Moxie" in as Moxie was not eating and losing weight. Dr. Boa was so kind and caring and took time to explain to my Mom (70) what was wrong. Turns out Moxie's back molars have grown and almost grown together causing a blockage in her mouth. So food can't get down. Moxie is older and yes, only a pig, but there isn't much that can be done for her. My Mom is so upset but is very appreciative of Dr. Boa's time and care!

Be careful before you go here. This vet offers $25 rabies shots, but they will perform a $100 medical exam WITHOUT informing you that it is their standard operationing procedure to do so even if you specifically ask them to do only the rabies shots and no examinations. And the kicker, they flat out refuse to tell you the total before taking your credit card in.. budget $50 for two pet vaccines and you won't be eating for a week with the $300 charge you end up with. Absolutely unprofessional to go behind peoples back and throw in huge extra charges without even a mention.

My family always took our pets to Beechmount, and now with a pet of my own I drive him an hour to take him here because that is how wonderful they are - and have been - for the past 11 years for my dog. I'm sure all the staff are great but the personal care that Holly provided us and our 13 year old dog in his final years was exceptional. He is gone now, but I would recommend Holly and Beechmount to anyone, and certainly should we get another dog, we will take him there. When my dog was a young puppy, we were concerned that something was stuck in his digestive tract as he was having trouble going to the washroom and seemed extremely constipated. I took my dog in and we were seen by a veterinarian named Jill who proceeded to feel his stomach and recommended we take two x-rays. By the end of the two X-rays, she advised there was nothing concerning that she could find and she gave us 4 cans of wet dog food and a bill for approx $459.99. I was so baffled and shocked that I just paid the bill but I will Never go back to this vet for their services ever again even though they are literally located right in front of my neighbourhood. That amount of money without any forwarning or explanation of rates is unacceptable. No consideration for the owners, and I felt completely robbed/taken advantage of.

Truly amazing staff here. When I had to make the agonizing decision to put my sweet girl down just less than a month ago, the vets and staff were so professional and compassionate. Dr.Boa really understands the love we have for our pets. I received a sympathy card in the mail yesterday from Beechmount,and it really meant the world. The grieving process has been a difficult one so far and that touch of unexpected kindness is more than appreciated.

I've been going to Dr. Boa for the past 15 years. He is the most honest, trustworthy veterinarian I have ever dealt with. All of my intensive care cases have been overseen by Dr. Boa, and his objective approach to treatment and prevention-oriented care is unparalleled. When further assessment details are required, through methods such as ultrasound, x-ray, blood tests or urinalysis, he only recommends those which are absolutely necessary. From the day we walked into Beechmont Animal Hospital we were impressed. A courteous staff greeted us and answered all our questions before we were even patients. On our first visit, Dr. Boa took the time to talk to us and give us tips for our new puppy. There was no rushing; just honest concern and interest in our new family member.
