This Veterinarian is included in the category of Veterinarian.
They did not have the food I was looking for for my kittens.
It's our vet in Vancouver. Jack's been going there since he was a puppy so over nine years now. Dr. Kramer is also a TCM Vet so you have alternatives to Western Veterinary protocols.
Best Vet hands down! They'll look after you and your pet. Great staff and facilities. ????
Staff are friendly and informative and try to make your fur babies as comfortable as possible while at the vet :)
Myself and my partner were fortunate enough to be the pet-parents to a wonderful, but sickly, elderly cat called Albert. Albert's visits were incredibly frequent as his condition deteriorated, but the staff at VCA made sure it was always as easy as possible, and we got to know all of them well over Albert's final months. Each and every staff member (front of house, vet techs and the Dr's – all of them) consistently went above and beyond to deliver the highest quality of care to both Albert and to us. Due to his FIV status, and numerous health issues when we adopted him, we'd never managed to insure Albert. However, VCA were incredibly sensitive to this and always staggered diagnostics and treatment plans to ensure we methodically tried options before just going for a huge upfront spend on everything. We used their in-house Care Club plan designed to support pet-parents with elderly and uninsured animals – I can't even calculate how much we must have saved with this plan and the staff helping us to manage our treatment approach in-line with the plan. Beyond just diagnostic work and treatment plans, Albert also received dental surgery with VCA. Dr Vasilescu did a fantastic job and Albert's surgeries and recoveries went very smoothly. Finally, Albert came to the end of his journey recently. Myself & my partner decided euthanasia would be the kindest option due to Albert's overwhelming health concerns in his final months. It was an incredibly hard to decision to make, and I cannot overstate how the balanced, carefully given advice of the VCA team allowed us to reach that decision. I have to stress that it was solely our choice, but one in which we felt very supported by the information and care we'd been given. The appointment itself was as sad as you'd imagine, but could not have been calmer or more peaceful for Albert due to the professionalism of everyone involved. He was calm and relaxed in his final moments and for that alone the VCA team will always be heroes to me. When we feel ready to commit ourselves to a new family member, we will definitely be coming back to VCA Vancouver Animal Wellness.
Great vet.
Dr V was excellent, he saved my cat where other vets couldn’t. Great Diagnosis and communication. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Prices are high but prices are high everywhere, here it’s for good services!
Awesome staff. Quick and efficient service
They are on the pricey side, but give great care for our fur babies.
I have bring my dog a year ago to spay her, and asked very specifically for an ovariectomy but NOT in the traditional way of spaying (which leaves a huge scar in the middle of the belly) because it was too intrusive. I used to spay my female dogs with the laparoscopy way only because it is a gentle way of doing it and leaves only two little scars on each sides of the belly. Dr Kramer was the vet who was taking care of my dog and I explained to her exactly what I wanted. She wasn't listening to me and was playing with my dog instead but I told myself that she was a professional so if she was saying that she understood what I wanted I was going to trust her. When I came back to pick my dog after the operation I discovered that she had a huge scar on her belly and that Dr Kramer didn't listened to me and did her way. The scars (external and internal) got infected and we found pieces of the internal stitches coming out of her belly which was very concerning. We came back to the clinic and they gave me homeopathic pills for the infection and as it didn't work I had to go to another clinic and it cost me the same price as the operation but for fixing the infection. I've put a review last year but I removed it because they paid me back the operation costs but today I have a dog with belly issues and who is incontinent due to the surgery. I know it happens but I wanted to share my experience because it cost me a lot of money and I don't want this to happen to another dog. Today I am not living in Canada anymore so I am back to my usual vet with who I am treating my dog with a hormonal pill and she is doing better.
Really caring and professional
Dr. Kramer is the best. She cares and makes sure to follow up with phone calls.
Although they do provide good care, this vet is a bit over-prized (but conveniently located) and very impersonal. To me it seems, my pets are really is just any patients among hundreds. I never get the same Dr which for me is quite …
Very good care, again deep pockets only....
All staff members were amazing. They were informative, and helped keep Finn happy and calm. He’s lucky to be in the VCA Vancouver family!
Great service. Take good care of my pug. Accommodating in an emergency. Thoughtful about the whole care of my pet. Dr V and the team are really sweet and caring.
This place was awesome for my large German Shepherd. The service is lovely as well.
I am currently launching a formal investigation with VCA Canada into Vancouver Animal Wellness. I believe that they are overcharging and providing improper care to animals. DO NOT trust them and DO NOT take your animal here expecting any sort of decent care. Hopefully they will be shut down soon.
I switched to them from a very pricey Yaletown vet and WOW I'm blown away by how great this place is. Both the vets and staff are super knowledgable, professional and caring!
The staff are just lovely, and while the dog doesn't love her visits there we know she's taken care of!
The staff are fantastic and they really care.
they have been taking care of my dog for years. good team there.
Very rude staff and overpriced
The best vet I have used in Vancouver. Used many different vets for my two dogs, but they are always professional and friendly here. And the dogs actually wait by the door to go in.
So far I cannot believe my luck finding VCA Vancouver Animal Wellness Hospital. I started researching vets before getting my puppy and decided to go with VCA because they were in my neighbourhood, friends had recommended them, and their manager who I spoke to on the phone and via email was SO helpful, friendly, and prompt. They offer something called a puppy/kitten Care Club which, for a monthly fee, covers everything you'll need for your pet (exams, nail trim, shots, spay, etc) for a discounted price than paying for each issue individually (they also offer dog/cat Care Club). The vet/technicians/staff are always very patient, knowledgeable, and give me all the information without worry. Thanks so much, you guys! ????????????????
We have been very happy with the care, follow ups and reminders at VCA’s East Broadway @ Quebec location. We joined the Care Club for our puppy. We pay $100 per month, which saved us about $400 this first year. It includes regular checkups, all the vaccinations & shots (except for Leptospirosis), spaying/neutering, and nail trims (we go every 3 weeks for that).
Informative and helpful and super friendly!
I had a very bad experience at this vet yesterday. They seem to use their technicians (and receptionist) to do the work of the vets. The technician I saw was inexperienced and did not seem to have any confidence. I was charged $180 for an initial consultation. My dog continued to be sick that evening (vomiting) so I called back the next morning at 8:30 a.m. and asked to speak to the vet. I was told that Dr. V could not speak with me as he was busy all day with appointments. So now I have no idea whether to continue my dog's medication or not. I will not go back to this vet again - very expensive, uncaring and unprofessional.
Provided fantastic care for my cat, and we're very professional and supportive at the end.
All-around best staff and veterinarians I have come across in 10 years. My little guy who suffers from severe anxiety when going there was still handled with such care and we left knowing he’s on the road to recovery.
I have been going here for more than 9 years and have received exceptional treatment for my dog by Dr Kramer. I've felt that because I've been given options, I've been able to afford their services and felt that pricing has been fair. However, with pandemic practices and hours in place I now feel that I can no longer come here for my new kitten. They used to be open on weekends and had longer hours for people who work. I've made three appointments. My first was at 5:45pm, second at 4:45 and my next will be at 4:15. Was told each time that their hours are shorter and shorter. I cannot afford to take a lot of time off work especially when you are not open weekends. Pre-pandemic, It also felt more personal. I would see and talk to the vet each time about my dog. I also felt that they really cared for my dog and I'm sure they still do but it's not the same waiting in a parking lot and having almost no time with the vet themselves. The kitten go into the building, the kitten comes out and then I pay and be on my way. It's a shame. Time to find a new vet for my cat.
Very caring staff and veterinarians. Very good at answering all your questions and taking care of you if you have anything urgent.
Had a really good experience at VCA recently when I had to bring in my cat, who ended up needing to be put down. The staff was prompt and respectful, the whole process was thoughtful and overall great considering the situation.
Amazing staff and vibe. My dog freaks out (in a good way) every time I take her there. Dr. Kramer is the best.
Great advice.
We bring our Corgi to see Dr. Kramer and trust her very much. The staff are very friendly and they really care about the animals.
Having brought my pets to VCA in the past I have learned to trust them with my pets emergency care....until now. Yesterday we were in a panic as our puppy was having seizures at home and we thought he had possibly ingested something. My wife called ahead as I took our guy into VCA. Following covid protocol, I called when I arrived and spoke with reception. I was told a nurse would call me and get my pet in to the doctor. By the time the nurse called (2 hours later) my puppy had stopped convulsing and I took him home. I understand that they were busy last night at VCA but I feel they had a responsibility to let me know they were to busy to provide emergency care for my pet. We could have gone elsewhere. Thankfully my puppy had normalized and will live to see our regular vet for a check up. If he had ingested something extremely toxic he could have died in my car in the parking lot waiting for the nurse to call. I have lost my trust for VCA and will find other emergency care for my pets. They deserve professional care.
Staff at the clinic usually called the next day after visit to make sure the pet was fine or needed anything. Vets also made their time to call pet parent to answer their questions.
Wonderful staff and amazing doctors. Dr. Marius was the first vet I met in Vancouver and made me feel very welcome to this city. The front staff are always a pleasure to talk to whether I am a client or calling from my own clinic! All of …
Very caring staff and veterinarians. My dog still hates it, but they are very gentle with her and straightforward with the pet parents.
Always friendly service. Drs are excellent. Very caring!
It saddens me that after attending this clinic for over 10 years, I've chosen to move on. I used to believe that the extra money was worth it, but none of the vets I used to see are there anymore and I recently experienced a situation that required them to prove their ability to show good customer service. Sadly, not only the receptionist, but the clinic manager, and vet chose to take the prideful route, and attempted to shift the blame so that they didn't have to accept that they'd clearly missed a basic step in their practice. Regardless of whether my issue was valid, the way they handled it showed their true colours. Perhaps the acquisition by VCA of this practice has created this shift in culture. I'm only giving two stars because I adore their vet technicians and I'll be sad not to see them again.
Receive great care for our pets.
Dr. Marius is great. Puts my mind at ease whenever my dog Leon is in for an appointment. I tend to worry about the worst thing that can happen, Dr. Marius brings me to …
This vet is WAY over priced and they do not provide quality care. Dr. Kramer is also rude and arrogant. With so many other good vets, go somewhere else.
My dog used to stress, cry and try to escape the vet clinic I used to take him to. So I found him a new vet and saw a dramatic difference right away. He doesn't mind walking into the Vancouver Animal Wellness Clinic himself and hops on the …
Dr. Goldberg is an excellent veterinarian. He deeply cares for the wellness of the animals in his care. His wellness exams are thorough and informative. Aside from being well versed in homeopathy he's currently also learning chiropractic manipulation techniques for pets. I call this dedication to the veterinary profession. Pricing can be a bit of a shock, but perhaps this is due to the fact that as Canadians we don't usually have to pay for our own visits to the family doctor or hospital. May I remind you of dental surgery? Nevertheless, if you're looking for the best holistic animal wellness hospital in Vancouver, this is it.
We've had an awesome experience here with our pup. They answer all of our questions thoroughly and are positive about a raw food diet which we appreciate. They treat our pup great!
Just moved to Vancouver and my dog is still back home about to make a move.He was JUST (i hang up the phone with my vet back home) diagnosed with diabetes so i quickly left work and run here to find out the price of the glucose measuring device. I was told they CAN'T give me the price because i was not a part of the clinic......
Super friendly and accommodating staff, great place to pick up your pets specialty diet needs.
We have been going to this hospital for some 7 years now. They treat the pets with the best care and their staff is amazing.
The staff here are fantastic. Being the first time owner of a puppy comes with a level of neuroticism but they will tell you if they don’t think your met requires emergency attention, and I really appreciate that. Really makes me trust that they care more about my pets health than profiting from emergency fees. Also, when my pup has been there, she has been returned to me in a very happy mood so it shows they really know how to put your pet at ease. I’m very grateful to live so close to such a great service provider.
a real scam , its not clinic , do not go there !!! overcharges you and ask you nice to come back!!! scam scam scam !!!1
This location has some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. They were extremely kind, caring, informative, communicative and went the extra mile to keep me well informed and comfortable through the entire process of my dogs surgery. Thank you to everyone for taking such incredible care of Duke!!!! ❤️
they have the "caring thing" well practiced but they prescribed my 13 year old golden retriever harsh drugs for newly developed seizures. Barbiturates and other very expensive drugs that turned him into a zombie. I tried it for a week then weaned him off the drugs slowly and had him back with us, aside from a few seizures. better than the drugs. minimize the vet trips
The staff are very patient with my reactive dog, and they treat him well. Dr.Henry and her team nursed my dog to health and I would recommend this clinic to everyone because of that.
Excellent staff. Friendly and knowledgeable. Offer traditional and holistic treatment options.
everyone in there is wonderful just stay clear of the russian/eastern European guy. he completely ignored what I said was the problem and tried getting me to send my puppy to surgery for a problem that doesn't exist.
Kool
Dr v. is amazing has taken care of my dogs for years and would trust him with there lifes....he's one in a million
Insanely overpriced, never in my 10+ years of working in the animal care field have I ever been so incredibly ripped off. Their price was double what I would have paid elsewhere, and believe me I asked around, sadly I did so after the fact...
Dr. Kramer is the possibly the worst Vet in the world. DO NOT use this Vet.
A few months ago, my friend recommended this clinic for my cat, since she has been having her dog treated at the clinic a few months before it passed away. I brought in my cat to have her neutered and after a few exams on my cat, Michael Goldbergh, one of the vets at the clinic, told me that my cat has cancer, because he wanted to rip me off!!! It was very hard to believe at first, because I didn’t see any changes in my cat’s appetite or mood. I was very sad and devastated, so I decided to take my cat to another clinic and get a second opinion. At the other clinic, after having her examined, the doctor said that my cat is healthy and she DOES NOT have cancer! Now, 3 months has passed and my cat looks fine and healthy (just like before). So, the vet, Michael Goldbergh, was playing with my cat’s life, just so he can make more money off of it. Clearly, money is WAY more important to MICHAEL GOLDBERGH than our poor animals’ life!! I am glad I got a second opinion and left the clinic for good!
I had no idea that a corporation now owns Animal Wellness. Dr Kramer has a great reputation, but it's impossible to see her. A while ago, its reputation was built on the integrity and vision of Dr Goldberg, and I had visited him once with my labrador. The clinic appealed to me because they took a holistic approach. That apparently has long since past. How disappointing that they now have two hard working vets, but who offer no knowledge of anything but the traditional approach. The clinic also charges top prices. Why? When they are just the same as every other clinic in town.
My dog Gryff was here a few times for different reasons late in his life. I wish I had started coming sooner, the front desk staff is so friendly.. the techs and vets are first class. I put him to rest in their clinic and I couldn’t have felt better about the whole situation, I’m heartbroken to lose him but they made him so comfortable and made me feel at ease too. I’m very grateful for you all.
Very expensive and very interventionist. I finally got sick of shelling out vast amounts of money and went to Vancouver Veterinary Hospital (VVH) instead. At VAWH, I spent $1,200 on tests and specialist visits for my cat in the space of 4 weeks, only to have the specialist tell me there was nothing much the matter with her. Then they wanted to refer her to yet ANOTHER specialist, still in the space of these 4 weeks, at which point I took her to VVH for a second opinion, where they again said there was nothing much the matter with her. VAWH vets seem to think if you have pet insurance you’ll be happy to pay for any and every intervention. I’ll get 80% of my $1,200 back from the insurance, but that’s still $240 I could’ve spent on something useful. Plus, my poor cat gets very stressed out when she has to go to the vet. Why should I keep tormenting her with invasive tests when another vet says she’s perfectly healthy? Also, VVH is significantly cheaper for dental work, which is not covered by insurance. The waiting room isn’t as fancy as at VAWH, but pets don’t care what the waiting room looks like.
Do not goto this Vet, Dr. Kramer doesn't care about the well being of your animals. They would rather let an animal suffer because of internal regulations. If i could give zero stars I would.
Very professional, always fast, and explain everything.
Excellent
