We have been going to Dr Huet for many years recently our dog became extremely ill. He ended up having cancer in his spin. Throughout his diagnosis and treatment Dr. huet was so compassionate and helpful. She referred us to the best specialist when she felt she couldn't help our dog any more. She checked up consistently on our dog even when she was no longer treatment him. Her caring nature, understanding and compassion touched our hearts.

Dr. Huet told us our cat was in desperate need of teeth cleaning and that she knew without doubt that the cat was in dire pain, we were very skeptical of this and half a year later we got a second opinion from a wonderful vet at Calgary West Animal Hospital who said that she had tartar but was not serious enough to warrant an emergency cleaning nor did she claim without doubt the cat was in pain as if she was a psychic cat pain expert. The dr here tried to convince us the cat had a very serious long standing issue suffering over years but when asked why then no other vets had mentioned this and we take our cat for checkups yearly, she couldn't answer that. Vet here lacked effective communication skills as was very defensive when asked further questions. Wouldn't return to this clinic and should have believed the not great reviews.

We’ve been bringing our beautiful Doberman to this Clinic for his entire life (10.5 years and counting!). I firmly believe he has made it to this age due to the excellent care and knowledge of Dr Huet. Another thing I truly appreciate about Dr Huet is the fact that she really cares about your pet. When our dog hasn’t been well or had had to visit to the emerg vet, Dr Huet will always contact me to discuss our dogs care as soon as she is notified. This is a personal touch you don’t experience with all vets and I appreciate it. After bringing our dog here for more than a decade, I can honestly recommend Dr Huet 100%. She is a smart, thoughtful and compassionate veterinarian that truly cares about your pet.

We brought in a rescued dog who was very hard to handle and examine and the staff handled him easily. He required a lot of dental work and additional treatment and he was well looked after. I was very pleased with the staff and service and have brought our other pets there as a result.

The vet seems to know what she is doing here most of the time, but her communication skills are very lack luster. I've taken my dog here for the last 2 years. All of his shots were kept up to date and she was able to catch and accurately diagnose my dog's chicken allergy. As a veterinarian, she is at least good enough. The lack of stars, however, is due to her complete lack of empathy to owners. The entire appointment is taken up with her selling you, constantly, on unnecessary services and insurance. Any questions about anything starts with "Which provider do you have? Because I recommend *****..." This is extremely frustrating as someone with a different provider who just wants to talk about their pet. If you're in the area and need a convenient place to take your pet, I have a hard time recommending this place; I would say, tread carefully. If you're not from nearby, don't go out of your way; it's simply not worth it for such mediocre care.

We have been bringing all of our animals to Dr. Huet since we moved into the area. Last year we lost one of our cats, and Dr. Huet couldn't have been more helpful and compassionate during this obviously difficult ordeal, even making a house call to help out. Most recently we brought one of our two Labradors in as she's been having some issues. Professional as always Dr. Huet diagnosed our girl accurately and within days our pup was feeling better. It is clear to both me and my wife that Dr. Huet and all of her staff love animals. The follow up calls and service to make sure our pets are on the mend are always appreciated. We often run in to Dr. Huet in the neighbourhood on walks and she asks about all of our animals. Being able to see someone local with ties to our community is certainly reassuring. Thanks for all that you do!

Dr. Huet is the worst vet we have ever seen, if you can even call her one. She is sloppy and has no compassion at all. If you live in the area like we do, I suggest spending the gas to go else where. An example for you is, I waited 40 minutes to see her, nobody came to let me know it was going to take longer. When she came in for the exam ( exam and shots) she looked at my dogs mouth and said it was disgusting and made a sound and rolled her eyes. I was really sad about that because I feel there is a way to talk to people and I try hard to take care of my dog. Secondly, she did not check his heart rate, all she did was look in his mouth and do the shots. DO NOT GO HERE.

Melissa and team are great. Friendly and very effecient. We have two cats and two dogs in the family and they all go here. She is fabulous with all of them. She doesnt try to upsell me with uneeded treatment, but has recommended some important preventitave treatment that I may not have know about. ( tick medication for dog out in the country and special de worming for another that eats mice) what more could you ask for. For a reasonable extra fee she came to our house to put down our old grils when it was time, extreamly compassionate. I'm really supprised there would be any negative reviews here. I can only assume those reviewers have no experience with animal care or they are just trolling for what ever reason.

Dr. Melissa Huet is by far the best veterinarian I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with. Not only is she kind, intelligent, and friendly she seems to have a caring and calming effect on my pups that I’ve never seen before. Her prices were reasonable the clinic was spotless and front end staff is always the sweetest lady ever. They order and hold (without payment) my dog food all the way from Australia! To the owners..... although my experience with your business did not involve my pet, it did involve my 3 year old who had to go to the bathroom in -15 weather. We were on our way home and my child needed to use a the bathroom and could not hold it for us to get to cochrane. I had asked the gas station if they had a pulic washroom, which they did not and went to your business in hopes that although i knew you didnt have a pulic bathroom that you would understand that a little child needed to use the bathroom, you would be kind to let her use it. Instead we were address with rudeness and kicked out. For this very reason, i would never recommend your business to anyone. Teach your staff to adress people with kindness and understanding.
