Inexpensive, and the staff are nice. However, they seem rushed sometimes, and I wasn't very happy with the way they handled my cat. My cat is pretty difficult sometimes, I don't deny that, but I've had better (if more expensive) service elsewhere. If your animals are relatively easy to handle, I would still recommend them because their prices, hours, and availability of appointments.

As a vet you would think they would understand that your pet is an extension of your family. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. The technicians were amazing! So loving towards my cat and made her feel so comfortable. I've had a lot of pets throughout my life and this was the best service I've ever received from techs! The vet himself was fine, nothing special. As per usual (and like all vets) they always try to get you to pay for more than you need but he never fought me when I said no. The pricing could have been a little more clear but overall Dr.Badri was very helpful and thorough.

This place cares about money more than their patients. My dog was charged $700 for diarrhea! As other reviewers said, a lot of surprise and hidden cost from this place. Blood test and other medications were given to my dog without informing me that they were optional and how much it costed. Medication instructions were written wrong which required me to make another trip to get another dose, However, they said that I would have to pay for the other dose even though they are the one who gave me the wrong instruction in the first place. Came here because the location was convenient but I am so disappointed. Clinic failed to call me back when I needed clarification on how the medication should be taken until the next day because the doctor was not "in". Why isn't the doctor working when the clinic is running?

I had what I thought was an emergency on a Sunday morning. I'm new to Toronto and only had my dog for less than 2 weeks. They took my dog and were fabulous throughout the entire process. They explained everything clearly to me, didn't try to pressure me into anything unnecessary and were so kind and patient. This place gives care but I am not comfortable with their care or treatment with my animals. They are always making mistakes and making me pay for tests and medicine that I can't afford only to find out that they prescribed the wrong thing or wrong dosage or they tell me one thing then another and can't get the story straight from one visit to the next. Then they tell me they are going to give me a discount and only give a partial discount. Finding a better place for my loved ones even though it means I have to travel farther and I'm wheelchair-bound.

Brought in my dog who wasn't eating and was very impressed by the service I received (it was a Sunday so they were the only place open in the area). Don't remember the doctor's name, but she was great. Later that day we were up all night with a dog who was vomiting blood, pretty scary, so we went back to the clinic first thing Monday. This time and from that point on I was dealing with Dr. Badri and do not wish to do so ever again. He was very unclear in his explanations, cut us off when we attempted to ask questions, didn't listen to anything we had to say about our dog's usual habits, and mentioned multiple times (without adding any reason or thought process) that "ya know, we'll probably have to cut him open." I paid a deposit and received an estimate for blood work, a set of xrays, overnight hospitalization, IV fluids, and antibiotics. I also signed a paper stating that if any other procedures needed to be done that I be called in advance. While the clinic had my dog overnight Dr. Badri performed at least two more sets of xrays before the bloodwork even came back (no explanation as to why and I was NOT called beforehand). The bloodwork came back to reveal that my dog had a bacterial infection, so I was told he needed about a week's worth of antibiotics. No problem. Also no need for the doc to mention *again* that he might have to "cut him open." When I did pick up my dog later that afternoon I was handed a bill for around $600 more than my estimate. When I inquired as to the difference I was told I was paying for all of the xrays... Not a chance considering I specifically signed to be called before any additional procedures. To that I got a pretty snarky "Well we were just trying to save your dog's life... If you don't want to pay for it, I'll take it off." Not my point, I have no problem paying for procedures that were vital/deemed necessary/effective, but why have a contract with a "please call me first" option if you are just going to do whatever you want? Totally unprofessional in terms of doing business as well as in the way I was spoken to. No idea why Dr. Badri was so obsessed with performing surgery with no apparent reason, but I'm guessing he gets people to agree to that cost not knowing better. That first female doctor was great, I would be willing to find out when she works and only go back then. Otherwise, go elsewhere!

The worst vet I ever had. I wish if I chose another vet because my cat kept getting sick and I lost a lot of money for nothing. When you go to this vet you will not learn about the problem with your pet, your pet will not get better, you will always get recommended to buy a lot of things and you will get a high price bill every time you go there. Maybe some people find this vet good because their pet got better but some don't. My advice is to look for another vet and if you are going to this vet and your pet doesn't get better change it as soon as possible.

I came in earlier this morning after another dog had bitten mine when we were just walking down the street a couple of blocks away from here. I came here because it was the closest place, and I'm so glad I did! The staff were so kind and put me at ease right away. My pup received the best care. I can’t express enough gratitude to the staff, especially Dr. Islam, Dr. Badri and Babak, the vet tech. I called the clinic on a Sunday concerned for my very sick kitten and they arranged for me to come in immediately. They helped my kitten through a rough patch and continue to provide the best care for her. Very kind, attentive, informative and professional! Excellent clinic! Dr. Badri and the whole team have been amazing with my little Cavalier King Charles. I was not a client of the clinic but when I called and said I was worried about my dog vomitting, they arranged for an appointment immediately. They made me feel comfortable right away and Dr. Badri and the team have been very gentle and professional the whole way. My dog got proper treatment and recovered very quickly. Dr. Badri and his assistant followed up every day to check how my dog was feeling. Well, I really recommend this clinic and Dr. Badri has now become our new vet for our dog and cat.

An amazing team... i never took my cat to vets and always tried to find off the counter remedies, always had the fear of being over charged by vets, until my cat became very sick, i went there because they were opened fairly late and admitted my cat immediately. Been looking after mine and my family's pets for years. They see you right away and have an emergency 24/7 line as well. They break down the prices and call you later to see how your pet is doing. What i like is that if the doc doesn't know how to help your pet, they'll refer you to someone else who might. That tends to be a problem with doctors- they don't do that.

We've been taking our 3 cats to this clinic for over 5 years, and all in all we are happy with their service. Dr Reza was the best vet there but regrettably he is not there any longer. Last time it just happened that he was acting for the owner who was on vacation so we met him again. Our cat was really sick and he did all he could to save her but couldn't. We understand. He once saved our other cat. The next day we called for the blood result and although it was already in, it took the clinic over two hours to call us back (another vet, not Dr. Reza) and then to urge us to bring our poor cat who was obvioulsy dying for more unnecessary testing. We already paid almost 800 dol and they didn't even tell us what was suddenly wrong with her. We put her to sleep. After this experience, I'm not sure that we'll go to this clinic again. 4 stars is for all previous experience with them.

Brought my dog in who was bleeding from presumably broken glass (they were the nearest clinic). Given I spent years working in a vet clinic uptown and currently bandage up people for a living, I preferred to buy the materials from them rather than pay $70 plus tax to have her looked at when I could clean and treat at home. I made this decision after meeting two of the DVMs who clearly couldn't care less about the dog (no hello or goodbye for that matter). After I paid for the bandaging, they made it clear I better be quick about wrapping her up "because we have appointments coming in." The place was deserted. She's an injured dog and they would have preferred she walk home on an open wound if they weren't being paid to treat her. Gave two stars because I appreciated being able to purchase the materials, but otherwise couldn't get out fast enough.

My son’s cat Kabouko, 15 years old, now mine, had for years sneezing with greenish discharge from his nose, and had been treated by other vets with antibiotics at no avail. I took him to Dr.Badri who said it is not his chest but a wound infection in the nose, and prescribed Antirobe Aquadrops that stopped his sneezing or minimized it, and now have a clean no discharge nose. Thanks Dr.Badri.

Attn pet owners, please read this: Vet wasn't able to answer the simple question of: is my puppy in heat or could it be a UTI. Spent 45 min waiting for the appointment. Spent 10 min with the tech taking down my info and trying to up-sell me on testing. Then followed by approx. 3 min. With the vet who also kept trying to up-sell me on testing (I'm here in regards to finding out if my puppy is in heat for the 1st time, why are you discussing fecal matter testing with me?). When I went to pay, they tried to charge me nearly double ($150) for testing that wasn't performed. I had to clarify testing wasn't done and then paid $80 and left with my unanswered question. When I asked why 3 min. Of the vets time with no answer was charged at $80, I was told "so what, you paid for a consultation" by the vet himself. Clearly exceptional service!

I cannot say enough about Dr Badri and his staff. I had an emergency last week where my senior cat with glaucoma-- his eye ruptured and was bleeding everywhere. We called them and they were able to see us right away, treat my cat, then remove the eye on Friday with a surgery. Their follow up was excellent and when I needed to get more pain medicine for the cat, they had it ready right away. The cat is on the road to recovery, back to a good quality of life. They really take emergencies seriously and try to help your animal. Rudy and I thank you!

The technicians were very nice and warm towards my 10 week old puppy. It was his first time there. The ony downside is that we needed to wait for almost an hour from our appointment time as an emergency came up with the vet, so it's understandable. Just thought there would be more than one vet working. My pup was given extra treats to bring home. Thanks - that was very sweet! Going back for my pups second set of vaccinations next week.

After a visit to the off-leash dog park on a hot, humid day, my standard poodle started gagging and throwing up in the car. She was very distressed and so we stopped at my vets but they had no doctor that day. I am hearing impaired; thankfully my grandson was with me. Due to Covid-19 we had to talk through a crack in the door. She suggested another clinic, where although they showed three vets on the door, only one was working, and she was busy. We came home and we called the Toronto Central Clinic. Amazingly they told us to bring her in shortly. Normally at this time you have to drop them off at the door but we were allowed to take her in after being disinfected. Dr. Badri had to talk to my grandson and then he would pass on the information to me. I was very concerned because I thought it might be bloat. My other poodle had it and luckily, he survived. The symptoms were similar. With bloat, you only have a short time to get to a vet. To cut a long story short; it wasn't bloat. The combination of running and drinking from the lake had caused the problem. I had never been to the TCAC before that day. I am sure they found it a pain having to talk to my grandson and then to have to wait for him to get back to them, but they all did it graciously The treatment worked and Lucy is back to her normal self. .

Toronto Central Animal clinic took great care of my kitten when he had surgery. I was pleased with how quickly and efficiently the service was, despite being in the middle of a pandemic. The veterinarian called me with updates and came to speak with me directly when I came to take my little guy home. The front line staff and vet techs were efficient, and kind. They made sure I had all the medications and supplies I needed, as well as provided detailed written instructions for when I got home. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of emergency or planned veterinary services.

I’ve tried this vet a couple times and every time I leave feeling like I’m leaving a store instead of a vet. Every single time I’ve gone here I feel like I’m being upsold services that I don’t need and charged for things I’m not made aware of. And when you refuse those services they make you feel like you’re doing harm to your animal. I came here needing medication for my dog’s ears and left feeling uneasy. My dog has a lot of anxiety coming to the vet and the only thing that makes my visit enjoyable is the interaction with the assistants. They make me feel comfortable and that they actually care about the well being of my dog. Unfortunately, the vet does not. I’ve tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but I won’t be made to feel like a bad person for refusing to pay for things I don’t need. If you’re looking into going here just keep in mind that they’re going to try to sell you things you don’t need and then make you feel like a bad owner for saying no.

Thank you Toronto Central Animal clinic for seeing us so quickly! While other vets were booked up for weeks, we got a same-day appointment. Jayne was fawned over and lovingly and professionally examined and treated. It was great to be able to stay with Jayne and help hold him etc. while all the doctors and technicians were wearing masks and hand sanitizing- thank you for keeping us COVID-safe but also allowing an owner to stay with a pet. And when we lost our eye drops the next day (sigh), I really appreciated a quick refill. As an added bonus - we even made the Instagram account! Have been recommending to friends and colleagues, thank you and see you next time!

I recently took my cat Emma to the Toronto Central Animal Clinic for a suspected ear infection. She was seen right away and the staff were kind, thoughtful and efficient. Dr Badri gave good advice and the prescription and ear cleaner have cleared up the infection. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic.

I brought my cat here for a second opinion when the first vet was recommending a $800 min biopsy for my cat's skin rash. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly within a few days and Dr Badri was so much more knowledgeable, he recommended a more accurate type of test (DNA test instead of fungal culture test) and within 2 days i got results back (ringworm). The other vet made me wait 3 weeks for results and said it Wasn't ringworm. I also appreciated that Dr Badri suggested multiple types of meds (oral pill and a cream) to help with the rash, and listened and answered my questions. Now we are doing laser therapy, a cream, and a shampoo to get rid of and heal the ringworm rash. So much less invasive than a anaesthesia and a biopsy! One of the best parts is that the vet staff will call the fay after Simply to check up on my cat and if the meds were given okay. That really makes me feel like they care about her health overall and want to help me take care of her. Highly recommend. Consult is $80 which is a really fair price for the thoroughness and attention the pet will get.

Do NOT use this clinic. I took my 7 week old puppies there to be vaccinated. The vet was hard to understand, wasn't friendly, and kept leaving to attend to other clients! The puppies didn't even end up getting their shots but he charged us $75/each for taking their temperature! Not the way to give a first impression and result in lifetime customers.

I've been bringing my dog here for the past 5 months or so and I think it is time to find a new vet. I spent $90 for an exam for the vet to look over several concerns I had and I ended up leaving with more questions and more confused. I felt like I was being rushed out and the answers I was given were vague and not very helpful. The front desk ladies were unable to answer any questions either. Also, when I was leaving I tried to calm my dog down before leaving the building because he has seperation anxiety and I asked her to give me a few seconds to calm him down before she gave me the receipt and insead of being patient they basically just threw the receipt at me. Overall, I will be going to a new vet.

There's no need to have a senior car who has had all their vaccines they have needed to get more at 14 terrible service. Update: responds to my criticism months later. As per other veterinarians reccomendations, a cat who has been up to date on all their vaccines, doesn't not leave the house or exposed to any potential threat, and is 14 years of age does not need it. You are money hungry and want to endanger my animal, with unnecessary vaccines. A 14 year old cat who poses a threat to no one. My regular vet was not able to see us during my first dogs emergency. I found this clinic, and they were very good to me and to my pets and I am grateful. My cat refuses to get into her carry case. A vet tech was sent to my house to medicate her and take her to the clinic as my building was undergoing pest control and she needed to be out of the unit for the day. Her nails were trimmed, and she was well cared for and she was dropped off at the end of the day. My only critique is that the vet tech was late both with picking her up (which made me late for school) and in dropping her off. Otherwise they provided a convenient service and I'll use them again.

If you like to spend money on expensive clothing and dine out in the high class restaurant, this is not a clinic you want to go. That's because this clinic is just a average Joe's neighborhood clinic. Staff are very nice. The vets are nice. You can discuss with them what tests you want to get done, they are easy to talk to. They won't force you to do any tests. They put my last dog down there. And they are treating my new dog now. My friends are taking their animals there too. Like I said, you won't get Superstar treatment there. Their price is very reasonable with regards to their location. When other people tell me how much they pay for the same medication I bough from them, I was so surprised how other vets will charge a lot higher. Also, they are willing to write you prescription, if you think you can get drugs cheaper somewhere else. I also went inside the restricted area because they were going to put my dog to sleep. I didn't recall any dirt on the floor nor surgery table.

I had an overall great experience with TCAC. I have a senior dog who needed to be spayed and I had lots of communication with the clinic prior to the surgery. They told me how to prep beforehand and what I should expect afterwards. Such compassionate professionals. We needed shots & microchips for our two cats. We were accommodated on short notice, rescheduled (at our request) with no complaint, seen and serviced in record time (in and out, exams, weighing, 2 shots & a chip each for 2 cats, in 30 minutes on a Sunday). The cats were given localized anesthetic before the microchip and didn't seem to notice they had been vaccinated with a needle. I'm very impressed with the wonderful veterinarians and technicians at this clinic. Highly recommended.

Happy customer. I brought my cat here on a Sunday, as there weren't many other clinics open on a Sunday, a little gem! The techs and the vet all made time to make the cat and myself comfortable. Had him purring while taking his temperature! Lol. He had a partial blockage, so the prices expected for this are always high. I stood by their side by the "surgery" exam table, which they allowed. I watched what they were doing to my furr baby very carefully. They were extremely accommodating in this regard, enthusiastic to share information, over explaining better practices, and overall turned the experience into a positive one. I actually learned a lot. They were skilled at inserting the catheter into his manhood, and the tech Rocky was VERY good with animals. The entire team was pleasant and worked well together. Doctors and tech and everyone genuinely care about the animals. Lower your examination fee guys, more people should come here, I know I will be coming back again.

AVOID this place at all costs. There are two other vets clinics (Cabbagetown and Sherbourne) within about six blocks of this place. Unless your pet is bleeding out at his doorstep, I strongly urge you pick either of them over this place. / / / / / Our dog accidentally injured another small breed dog while playing at the nearby park. It was a single superficial puncture wound. In an over-abundance of caution, we brought the dog over to have a quick look. As it was a small puncture, we expected him to do a quick flush and say that there was no need for concern. / / / / / Instead, what was originally quoted as under $100 ended up costing several times that amount, with a full $100 dedicated to the simple flushing of the puncture - something that, after consulting with several other vets, our own included, we discovered is not typically something that is charged above and beyond the fee for the visit, unless stitches are required. Stitches were not required. / / / / / Then there were the questionable choices made with respect to antibiotics. He administered and charged for a short-acting antibiotic injection that was not appropriate as a first-line, particularly when he was providing an oral antibiotic anyway - and, the antibiotic provided was a particularly strong type, that were also not needed in this case. / / / / / When confronted with this, all he would say is that he'd already given a deal as it was an 'emergency' and he could have charged more (based on other reviews, I'm inclined to believe him), and that he's running a business. / / / / / True as that may be, it's clear that care provided is a consideration that is secondary to this fact. / / / / / Again, please avoid this place. This is precisely the type of clinic that gives veterinarians, as a whole, a bad reputation.

Multiple visits over a few days. Each visit being told to go away and come back later they're not ready for us. This is the 4th time this has happened in 2 days here. We are now at 1 hour waiting with no explanation whatsoever on this visit. If you charge this much as a vet, you should at least get your scheduled appointments accurate and in line.

Unfortunately, it's taken me awhile to post this as I was waiting for the official word from the College of Veterinarians of Ontario to conclude their investigation of Badri (sorry not sorry for not calling him a doctor as he doesn't deserve that title). He was suspended for 3 months which is a big joke. My case along with another owner resulted in his 3 month suspension. He killed a cat (left a catheter in the cat which resulted in an infection and death)- and in my case, what was suppose to be a routine teeth cleaning turned out to be my little guy having ALL his teeth extracted! That's him in my profile picture during happier times. Badri did not get permission, did not administer proper anaesthesia, did not follow proper procedure- pretty much gross incompetent and professional misconduct all around. I won't even get into the details as it would make you sick and really really sad that he's still able to work as a vet. I can say this all now as it's all documented by the CVO. How he can sleep at night is beyond comprehension. My heart breaks everyday when I look at my pup knowing I put him in the hands of this sorry excuse of a human being. If this guy is your vet, you are gambling with your pet's health and safety. Know he showed zero compassion, concern or remorse. The same day he removed all my pups teeth I asked him what should I do now and he shrugged and said "Take him home, give him soft food I guess". He was hospitalized at another clinic for two weeks after that ordeal as they had to fix all the damage that Badri caused.

I've been to Toronto Animal Clinic twice now for my 11 year old dog, Maddie. The first time was an emergency because we believed she had consumed Tylenol. The second time was a consult for surgery to remove a fatty mass. The entire team is professional and courteous. I have been using the veterinary services at Toronto Animal clinic for over 9 years to treat 4 cats and 3 dogs. (Now down to 1 cat and 2 dogs!). I have found the clinic lead by Dr. Badri to be compassionate, and fair. I can call anytime with a question or prescription refill and solve my issue quickly. I am grateful for the care and attention my pets receive by a friendly and caring staff. I would definitely recommend this clinic. Additionally, the staff is open to discussion to chart the pet’s health care plan and prognosis.

My 8 week old puppy was having seizures so I called in and asked if they had a vet in and that it was an emergency. Staff told me to come in and that a veterinary would help me. They made me wait and 2 young gentleman entered , I asked where the vet was because clearly these 19 year olds were not the vet. They said the vet wasn't in. They were completely cluessless and could only suggested to give the puppy oxygen. They said I should go somewhere else where they had a vet. So in total they wasted about 35 minutes of crucial time as my puppy was having multiple seizures. I had to pay around $120 for a suggestion to go to a another vet. When I brought my dog to emergency , 2 hours after my initial call with them, the vet said it was too late and the dog had died and if I had brought the dog in earlier I would have been able to possibly save him. This happend in the summer and I forgot about leaving a comment as it was a painful time. As proof I have attached my banking statement which shows " interac purchase 4188-Toronto Central $119.66". I walk my current dogs at the park, there are about 50 owners and they are all informed on the incident which occurred summer 2019, in solidarity they have also spread the word and refuse to recommend that location for any services . I am not placing the entire blame on this clinic, nor am i angy about tbe costs .I just want them to have a better process so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Besides the proper tests administered, all my questions were answered and I didn't feel rushed, persuaded into unnecessary tests or dismissed. This is good ol fashioned real vet care! I would give this vet clinic 0, however that is not an option. This vet clinic tries to rob people of their money and their pets. This vet clinic charges you well above the industry norm, and tries to offer a ''discount' to fraud consumers. They lure customers with one agreed upon price, and to successfully rob their clients, they take the dogs to the back to the room, without the owner, to "assess and treat" the dogs, without gaining consent to treatment, resulting in an astronomical bill, well above what was agreed upon in the consultation. This clinic is shady, unprofessional, and preys on the emotions of dog owners. Despite agreeing on a cost of service in advance, they hit you with a large bill, say they're doing you a favour by offering a marginal discount, and threaten to withhold your pets. Avoid this clinic at all costs.

We got a appointment for our kitten right away, our kitten Meika had her first vet visit and they where wonderful with her and us, my kitten had a reaction to her vaccines and I was told to bring her back right away, no hesitation, and they did everything to make sure my kitten was well as well as have multiple follow up calls, every one at this vet clinic cared so much about Meika. I am so happy that I have found such a caring group of people to look after and are about our little fur baby, the prices are fair as well I would highly recommend this vet clinic to anyone looking for care for their pet.

This vet clinic is good. Staff is friendly and they have been there for my dog without an appt..HOWEVER I was a bit overwhelmed with my bill the other day. My dog has pink eye and a whole bunch of other tests were done without my knowledge of how expensive it was gonna be. I'm a single mother and this bill was over $550.00. My dog also got poked with the needle 4 times because they couldn't get enough blood for a sample the first time. I think he is traumatized by this. I was told that a blood sample was the best test because they would be informed with whatever issues my dog might have..but here I am having to do his urine samples..for 2 days! The first one wasn't enough! For almost $600 I should not have to be doing this. He got eye drops and some antibiotics for basically pink eye..and they got me stressed and broke with all this worrying that he might have diabetes because he pees a lot. He's a 7 month old puppy. Anyways its a good clinic don't get me wrong.. but I feel like I got robbed.

My cat had a nasty abscessed tooth and I called the clinic up and asked to bring her by the next morning. They took her in, as I had to leave for work, and after the vet took a look, they called me to let me know exactly what happened before doing anything else to my cat. They explained what would happen and if I wanted dental surgery done the same day (of course I did, I didn't want her to suffer anymore as she hadn't been eating properly for a few days). I picked her up after work and the surgery must have been great, 'cause she was eating soft food as soon as we got home. I don't think after taking taking out a few teeth, being under anesthetic and having sutures in my mouth, I'd be up for eating, but she was eating just fine and I'm happy about that. The clinic gave me antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds to give her and explained how to give them. I'm very happy with their service, courteousness and friendliness of all the staff. My cat is 10 and I want to have her around for another 10 if I can. Thank you TCAC

The receptionist, nurse, and doctor I visited were great. Unfortunately, the results of my pet's test was spoken about over the phone by Dr Rasai, where he was incredibly impatient when I asked some questions. Our phone call lasted less than 7 minutes, and I learned nothing about how my pet can fix its health issue. He was more concerned with hanging up the phone than being helpful. I get that you're busy, but your job is supposed to help me understand how my pet can be healthier. Extremely disappointed with my visit especially that I paid a lot of money for the visit, and I have to visit another vet to clarify things.
