REVIEWS OF Queen West Animal Hospital IN Toronto

Dee Mundy

Nice on the phone but some staff is very lazy in person.

J. Ziemianin

Friendly and fancy.

JL

Very well run business with costumer service focus... Pretty expensive though. Haven't used their kennel service yet

Joël Perras

I used to live right next door to Queen West Animal Hospital with my pup, and I have nothing bug good things to say about them. The staff was always kind, courteous and professional, and the care for my dog left nothing to be desired. Even though I live on the other side of the city, I commute to Queen West just to make sure that my animals have the best care that I can find.

Amina AA

The staff are really friendly and helpful. Best vet in the area.

Peter Merza

Do not go to this vet - they do not know what they are doing and basically shamed me for putting my dog on a Raw Food diet when NOTHING else has worked for his digestion. I have switched vets since and am much happier

James Boyd

They treat you and your pet like family.

Leah Jackson

We LOVE Queen West Animal Hospital! We brought home two puppies, as first time puppy owners, and have loved our experience with all the staff here. Our puppies get so excited about going in for their appointments. They’ve been so helpful over the phone and in person when our pups have been sick. One puppy is currently in because he has been quite ill and I feel so reassured that he is being cared for with warmth and love by professional and very knowledgeable staff. I also did some research to compare prices for puppy vaccines in downtown Toronto and their prices have been reasonable and lower than other places. Thank you so much!

Flip (FLIPDADY)

Very accommodating even though it was my first time taking my dog there. Fair pricing and the staff are extremely friendly and do their job very well. I personally reccomend Dr. Ng as she was very up front and compassionate with my old dog's situation.

Just switched over to Queen West Animal Hospital and could not be happier with my choice. They did not do excessive testing for the sake of making a few more bucks. Instead kept it to what they think is best and then work from there if needed. You can tell they love animals and love what they do, which is a nice change!

Ryan Davey

Great and attentive staff that care about your pets and go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable with the treatment.

Ghazal Taheri

Bar none the best vet in the city. The level of care you'll get here is phenomenal. When my dog was sick Dr. Fisher called me regularly to check in and offer advice. She made what was a difficult time that much easier because she approached things with so much thought and care. Whenever I called with a question or concern she was incredibly patient, and took the time to explain everything. I honestly can't speak highly enough about this practice and Dr. Fisher in particular. You can trust that you're getting the right advice, high quality care, and such friendly service. 10/10 would recommend.

Daniel Fox

Best Vet in the area by far!

maryclare rutledge

I attend appointments with a friend for her cats and I've been really impressed with their care and service!

covex

Very good Hospital, but it's a bit expensive to afford.

El T.O.

They are great at following up and keeping on top of things. They genuinely seem to care.

Kate Babak

Have been seeing them since we got the puppy. Good so far!

Prisca NHT

The staff there is extremely friendly and helpful!

Adam Ball

Love the staff, love the general care and thoroughness, and Charlie is always excited to go!

Kristy Anderson

Dr Fisher & her team are so caring and compassionate, and have become a part of Koda’s extended family. They are extremely conscientious about how cost prohibitive having a pet can be, and will thoroughly explore every option to tailor your pet’s care. I can’t recommend them enough, best Vet clinic in the city.

Dave Fosbrook

I am visiting Toronto and needed a specific dog food. They were very accommodating.

Sara Elsdon

This is easily the best vet clinic I have ever been to. We adopted Molly when she was about 8, and ever since we had her she has been TERRIFIED of vets. We would always have to hold her during check ups because she would try to dive off the examination table. We didn't start going to Queen West Animal Hospital until this summer after they had begun the quarantine protocol of dropping your pet off. The first time we dropped Molly off, she tried to bite the vet tech came to take her inside. However, ever since that first appointment, Dr. Rakocevic and the vet techs who have handled her have all talked about how sweet and cuddly Molly is, which we have literally never heard from staff before. She had a dental appointment a few years back in our home town, and when we handed her off to that vet, she was so terrified that she was screaming and kicking. This past week, when we passed her over to the Queen West staff, she was still scared, but just plopped right into the tech's arms with no struggle. It looks like you have done a great job of making her feel safe :) Everyone here is clearly good at what they do and their passion for animals shows in everything they do. Thank you for accomplishing the impossible task of making Molly feel at ease, and making her humans' lives a lot less stressful :)

Joel Poon

Great friendly staff. Very nice clinic. It’s like going to the spa.

Claire Midgley

Have been bringing my cat (and now both cats) here since moving into the neighborhood a few years ago. Sometimes seems a bit pricey for the amount of time/ attention the cats get from the vets themselves, but the techs and receptionists are always so helpful and nice.

Brandon Zoras

This place is really out of the way for me but so glad I decided on coming here after reading all the great reviews. The staff are so nice and caring animal people from the people at the front to techs to the vets. I guess it's more like a walk in clinic where we always see a different vet but I am sure I could schedule it so the same one is in but I usually go when we need to. There are great cafes next door while you wait as well!

I can’t say enough good things about Queen West Animal Hospital! Dr Fisher is the best veterinarian I’ve ever dealt with in the past 18 years of pet ownership. She is very honest throughout the examination and works with you to find the right course for your dog’s specific needs. I’ve always felt confident that she can help us through any health concern we have with Shilo. I’ve never felt like I’m paying an arm and a leg for unnecessary tests - she’s just very realistic with what she suggests and I have full trust in the advice she provides. The vet technicians and front staff are patient, very knowledgeable and kind - there guidance is integral and helps me understand what to expect at my dog’s upcoming appointment. I really appreciate that they follow up after each appointment to check in and see how Shilo’s treatments are going. I’m so happy we found this clinic and we will continue to bring Shilo and any future pets we have here!

They're always so kind and considerate, the Vet took the time to call and explain everything for 10+ minutes. I like their COVID precautions too, makes me feel safe having the two door system.

Brigette McCabe

Just had our first visit and I am blown away. So much better than our last vet! Beautiful, clean office, And exceptionally friendly staff, plus they didn't push unnecessary products on us! Highly recommend.

Fawn Big Canoe

Lovely staff

David Sinkinson

Great staff!

Amanda Beattie

Dr. Fisher provided excellent care to my dog over several years and always took the time to answer my questions. Would definitely recommend her ❤️

Deibourei Geonzon

Staff was very accommodating considering my sister and I were walking from our house to this hospital. We were offered to sit inside into a waiting room where they followed protocols due to covid (distanced chairs, sanitizer and contact tracing information)! Dr. Rakocevic and Lara were very helpful in tending to our newly adopted old cats’ needs! We were able to make sure everything was healthy and also were given advices/recommendations of medicines to help our FIV+ boy live a happier life. Would definitely recommend this hospital! :)

Roberto P.

Great staff. They provided excellent care for my Balinese cat. They also offer a unique dental health care formula kibble by Purina. I haven't been able to find it anywhere else in the city.

fiona bowie

Excellent diagnostics and a super Vet! Thank you!

Liane Vaz

Visited with a semi-emergency. My 2.5 year old pup accidentally ate something that may have been poison from off the street. My boyfriend called the clinic ahead while I brought my dog over. Everyone was super attentive and assessed her as soon as we entered. The waiting room is clean and so are the exam rooms. They carefully explained every cost and gave me a breakdown for the optional expenditures. The vet was very professional and friendly. They also sent a follow up email to make sure she was okay. I would definitely recommend Queen West Animal Hospital to anyone with a pet!

Nicole White

Everything about Queen West is amazing. The entire staff here really cares and it shows.

Pedram Navid

I've tried a few vets before, mostly by looking for the cheapest place to get my cats fixed or their shots up to date. They were very much an assembly line no-frills type of place where you could tell their key concern was getting you out of the way as quickly as possible. My dog Pearl recently got a bump on her and I didn't want to risk taking her to the cheapest place around but rather somewhere where she would get the care she needed. I did a quick search and saw how highly ranked Queen West Animal Hospital was. I called and they were able to fit me in within a couple hours too, which was great. Before I even walked in the reception who was outside with another client immediately fell in love with Pearl. I already could tell these people actually like animals. Once inside, I felt very welcome, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The vet tech took a look at her and was very gentle and kind, and once the vet came in for the full procedure, she was also incredibly nice and helpful. No one seemed burnt out, or tired, or jaded. Everyone involved made sure I understood what they were going to do, what the likely outcomes were, and what I needed to know when I went home. They even told me they will follow-up with a phone call to see how she is doing in a few days. The visit, including meds cost me around $100 which seems very reasonable. No one tried to upsell me on useless procedures or convince me that I needed things that I may not have. I've never left a vet feeling more satisfied. I'd recommend this vet to anyone who cares about their animals, because you will find a staff that cares just as much as you do.

Alex Elsayad

Nice vet, quick booking and great service

Sonia Michael

We've been coming here for years, and when it came time for us to say goodbye to our kitty, Patches, they were absolutely amazing. Dr. Gibbon and Nicole were compassionate, professional and so accommodating and we couldn't have wished for better people to be with us on Patches' last day. As for the clinic, having on-site testing facilities and emailed results for our kitty's appointments is awesome. We look forward to coming back in the future and would totally recommend this clinic to anyone.

v man

Service other than producing a high bill of service from one of several grocery store type cashier stations is non-existent. What was once a very good clinic where I took my cats for several years has become too corporate with the primary concern not for your pet but of their bottom line.

Devyn Christopher Gillette

Compassionate, professional, outstanding. Dr Fisher is awesome, and all other vets and staff are fantastic people. For 10+ years, I go nowhere else for my critters.

Thierry Bazay

Caring and friendly staff.

Laura Carr

I've been going to Queen West Animal Hospital for 5 years with my big guy. It's never been a bad experience for either one of us. Quality service, Vet Techs & Vet's. Every one is truly wonderful, thoughtful and thorough. Even now during covid, they've made everthing run smoothly and efficiently. Prices are completely reasonable, and they keep you up to date. Thank you Queen West A.H.!!

Benjamin Kelly

We travel to QWAH every time we need our puppy looked at. It is some extra time to do it, but we are happy to given the exceptional experience we have had each and every time we have been there. The staff are superb, the facility is cutting edge, the proximity to Trinity Bellwoods park is a special treat for our pup, and they have free parking! Trust equals consistency over time...QWAH has earned our trust.

Benjamin Brenner

I have 2 cats and a dog and they just LOVED them and treated them all so well. When the vet first met my cat Donald she took him around to meet all the other staff because he's adorable. They just love pets so much! GREAT place!

Linda Yahya

I had a check up appointment at Queen West Hospital during their curbside service, and while it can be nervewracking to drop off your pet, I really felt like Stevie was in the utmost best hands! The entire staff really care about your animals, and I totally felt at ease.

lisa tant

Exceptional staff who are patient, kind and caring. All of my questions are answered and my puppy loves to visit. Easy to get appointments.

Ania Isabel

This is one of the best vet clinics in Toronto. The prices are on a higher side but your family members are worth it. Friendly staff and the waiting times are short.

Kitty Lana Carr

Had the most amazing experience at Queen West Animal Hospital. The staff is so friendly and make you and your pet feel so comfortable. The facility is so cute and they have so many sweet decor touches. I highly recommend taking your pet here. The service is exceptional. The staff responds to emails quickly and is very helpful over the phone. Coming to Queen West Animal Hospital takes the stress out of taking your pet to the vet because you know you are in amazing hands!

Ashkan Javid

Ive been to a few VCA animal hospitals and I recently had to switch to queen west animal hospital due to close proximity. I just regret not doing this earlier. They are very caring, professional and simply amazing. Dr. White takes her time explaining every procedure in detail and always happy to answer all your questions. Thank you so much for your amazing service Me and my dog are excited to see them every time

Darla Miazdyck

Years ago this clinic seemed focused on animals more than profit. That has shifted. When questioned about a bill their reaction was not only extremely rude, they allowed for no discussion. There are many other clinics more affordable, without the abrasiveness. I am no longer using this clinic.

Gerycel Castro

I love this place. They are all so friendly and high energy. I trusted them my 2 furry kids and I’m very happy with the options they have for tests, follow ups, etc. Highly recommended

Marie Corsini

Best quality as always. I love our vet!

An Nguyen

My boyfriend and I gave the clinic 3 weeks to respond to our email we sent to Angie (lead receptionist) on June 9th when she inquired why we are transferring to another clinic. As of today, we have not received an explanation as to what has happened to our file. Copied and pasted directly from our email: “Hi Angie, Thank you for reaching out. The reason why [dog’s name] and I are switching veterinarians is because I did not like the service provided by the clinic. More than a year ago, I requested my ex-girlfriend, [name retracted], to be removed as primary contact as she no longer had ownership over [dog’s name]. I was told that she had to be the one to give consent and permission to allow this change. Because of this, she would purposely ignore [dog’s name] vet requirements and not inform me when you guys sent an email or made a phone call. This is not your fault however, the following situation a few months later solidified that no one cared about the headache I was going through. A few months ago, I had [name retracted] call the clinic to remove her information and to make me primary contact. The receptionist on the phone had no idea what I was talking about, and that there was no “[name retracted]” listed on the account. After furthering questioning, I was met with the response of “I don’t know, but I didn’t do it, and it is changed now.” How is it that you guys gave me so many problems regarding the account change, but did it without my permission months later? Why is there no note on my account as to who changed it and why it was changed? For this reason, we’re changing clinics.” We have permanently switched clinics to the Yonge-Davenport clinic, and we are extremely happy with their service. As for management reading this review, you can directly reply to our email that you have not responded to yet.

One of the best I the city. They really go the extra mile for you. Just great.

Patrick Kelly

Best animal hospital on the west end. Kind staff and excellent facilities.

Perri Maxwell Chaikof

We are so grateful to the Queen West Animal hospital. All of the staff are so caring and professional. They really took great care of us and our poodle, too!

Christopher Caira

Always attentive and friendly, our cats' home away from home!

Deborah Joan Hudson

I have been taking my French Bulldog to Queen West Animal Hospital for almost 7 years (since she was a puppy). The staff and care at Queen West is absolutely top notch! Everyone at the front desk, all of the vet techs and the practice manager (Deborah) are highly personable and knowledgeable. I feel the staff truly love and care about my dog (and all the animals). There are several vets at the location and all are great. We have recently worked with Dr. Ng through some issues we had and she is fantastic but the service level is high across the board. I cannot say enough great things about everyone there.

Lucy Small

+2 Because the vets are great with my dog. -3 Because *oh my goodness* if you ever need them to do anything besides treat a sick animal, as in administrative things like forms, insurance, etc. - DON'T. They'll mess it up and then tell you that they're really busy so they just did it in the first place as a courtesy. They fill out their insurance forms arbitrarily, inventing dates and names (they put my name as my dog's name, and a date for her visit before I even had her). Then they'll tell you it doesn't matter. Then you'll get told by your insurance that your dog is no longer eligible for coverage. They'll also sell you on their VetStore and then be unavailable to help you with orders, questions, etc. In the end, so much headache! I appreciate the fact that my dogs don't mind coming in here, though I do think they wouldn't mind anywhere with treats. At the end of the day, this vet clinic has cost me HOURS upon hours of time on the phone and always sends the most nonsensical emails because they have people working on top of each other - no one knowing what the other person has already done.

paintedreboot

I have been so disappointed recently with the new vets on staff. The doctors we usually see have either left or only work a few hours a week. The last couple appointments ended with no resolution to my two pets' ailments. One is suffering with CKD. The other a skin problem of which the vet said I have no idea what the problem is but I'm sure it's not serious.

Kat Mullaly

The amazing people here have been taking care of the furriest of my family members for over fifteen years now, and I only wish that the medical care my husband and I routinely receive from many of our human-healthcare providers could be half as good.

Victor Krisel

There is a reason that this veterinarian clinic is so highly rated by everyone... it is top notch! Great facilities, friendly and caring staff and first class care.

Sergio Visneskie

Friendly staff, great response and conveniently located in the heart of queen west. I recommend Queen West Animal Hospital

John Thai

Poured $7k into our cat and left with a bag of ashes — and they had the audacity to attempt an upsell for a "nicer urn." While they are not responsible for his death, I do blame them for not delivering a professional opinion to put him down. If you have bags of money and want to pay for every single test for your furry friend, this place is for you. If you're looking for a professional opinion based on past experience; someone who is on your side, confident and not just looking to beef up the estimate, shop around. When I bike by, I can't help but think that the new giant space and mid-century modern fireplace were paid for in part by my dead friend.

Peter Iskandar

Great service, reasonable prices

stan benda

The clinic, staff and professionals, have always been polite, competent, and dedicated to the animals. There is a nice "bubbly" feel to the place: both the physical plant and the people. I am very comfortable bringing my pet, a miniature schnauzer, to the clinic and feel he is in good hands.

Mel T

Wonderful Place- very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and overall sincere. I enjoy going to appointments, just as much as my little puppy. Well $ as well, compared to other Vets I have been to. I would recommend Queen West Animal Hospital, and have too anyone that wants the proper care for their pet!

Maggie McGroarty

What a cool place. My ???? is chill whenever he's there because the staff is so great and the care is exceptional.

Lindsay Yates

So happy with this vet. I feel respected and not taken advantage of. The doctors and staff are realistic and fair and also great with my dog.

Leslie Harrod

All of the staff - from the receptionists, to the vet techs, to the vet ... everyone is so incredibly lovely. We worked with Jordan and Dr. Paula Fisher and both were so informative, caring, and lovely to be around. I was so grateful for how they broke everything down for me, ensuring that everything was covered and even having Jordan following up with measuring instructions for my slightly overweight cat (ha!) was much appreciated. Both Hitch and Murray were grateful for such a great visit! Thanks to all the staff at Queen West Animal Hospital!

Mark Berg

Amazing staff, amazing office. We've been taking our dogs here for years and have only had great experiences.

Aaron MacDougall

Friendly staff and a clean bright clinic. Great service!

Devan Cage

great friendly service with a smile. caring and knowledgeable staff that answered all my questions and worked around my schedule to make an appointment. little to no waiting time and very caring with my new puppy. four paws up!

D Laing

Our Dog x Cat have been coming to this vet clinic for almost 5yrs and we love it! Dr. Paula Fischer is a gem and takes such great care with our animals. They give great insights into animal health and are always willing to answer our questions. Their techs are amazing and even when we don't have an appt we pop in on our way to/from the park to grab water for our dog (partially to get her pumped about going into the vet and also because the staff are so great). Keep being awesome QWV!

val bonifaz

When my partners dog passed, the staff could have made the issue of payment known with more sympathy. Staff has been good except for a few odd encounters with one specific person. Vets are very trusted and know what they’re doing.

symbolistic whitewalls

This privately-run facility is disgraceful. It is mandatory to bring your shelter-adopted animal here for spaying or neutering. However, it is run as an unscrupulous and uncaring mill. When you arrive, they ask you if you would like numerous un-needed and expensive services; all unnecessary -- none are standard at any other Vet facility. This places makes you "decline" these extras with your initials, implying that in doing so, you are putting your pet at risk. My advice is don't take these services and get out of there as soon as you can. While I was sitting there another patron complained that their pet picked up an illness there on the operating table. I am lodging a complaint to the City.

Sarah Holden

My experiences with Queen West Animal Hospital have always been positive! They have always provided balanced advice and never pressured me one way or the other (re: tests or next steps). The atmosphere is modern, comfortable, and clean, and the staff (admin, techs, and doctors) in my experience, have all been amazing - professional, friendly, and informative. I have since moved and won't be close enough to use them any longer, but I wanted to share my review as I really appreciate all of their help and services through the years!

The Best Animal Hospital In downtown TO! Great caring staff with excellent service in a beautiful new building right at the head of trinity bellwods park

Joanne R

I've been a client of Queen West Animal Hospital since my cat was 6 months old - he's 2.5 years old now. Our initial doctor was Dr. Holland who we were happy with, but sad to learn that he is no longer part of the team. Our cat had chronic digestive issues so we were regulars at the hospital for a while. We're happy with each vet visit - great friendly staff and clean facility. Our cat is now a patient of Dr. Rakocevic. She's a confident, calm, logical, and practical doctor. She and her team were able to handle our feisty cat and examine him while trying not to stress him out even more. Our cat is doing great and we have his digestive issues under control. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this vet clinic!

Robert Matyas

Expensive and front desk staff are rude sometimes

daniel levinas

All the vets are friendly and knowledgeable. They treat my cat well, and put her at ease and she is nervous around people.

Christine Clark

Great vet services. We don't see a specific vet for our dog but the whole team is very engaged and supportive. We are very happy with the service and care.

Benj Hellie

The vets and staff at Queen West Animal Hospital are highly skilled and very caring. They have really been there for us on multiple occasions---for example, helping us figure out how to get documentation for traveling abroad with our dog, Pirate, and helping him out on emergency short notice when he got a stick stuck in his soft palate.

Juan Diego Garcia (FrederickWolfe)

This is the right place for us. I think it would be for anyone. Very professional, I've always been happy. Pets are family. So you drop whatever money necessary to help/fix/save. I've never felt cheated or swindled here. Like the vet, way more than my dogs.

Rebecca McKnight

Can’t say enough good things! Beautiful, clean facility and my pup feels so at home she often falls asleep in the exam rooms :) Vets and vet techs always take care to answer questions and I’ve never felt rushed. Front desk staff and kind and pleasant and always helpful! We don’t even live nearby, and still are willing to make the drive across the city.

Matthew Wong (Wongo Bongo)

The staff here is the best.

Heather Snow

I love this place! The staff genuinely care about your pet and it is obvious my cat appreciates the TLC because she doesn't completely lose her mind with fear when we go there. The follow-up care is also superb. I now live on the other side of the city, but I still trek across town with my cat specifically so I can come to this clinic. Your pet will thank you for bringing them here!

Tristan Cezair

Sincere and friendly

Miguel Pacheco

I can't say enough great things about the whole team there. Patient, genuinely caring, and always going the extra mile to make sure your pet is well taken care of. Just the best!

Andrea Camacho

A few months ago, my cat ate a few pieces of the kitty kong rubber chew toy for cats. She vomited some of it, but within a few days she became seriously ill. She wasn't using her litterbox, she was vomiting every 3-5 hours, she was bloated. I took her to Queen West and explained what happened. Unfortunately nothing showed up on the X-Ray they took. The doctor explained to me that it might not necessarily show up if she ate something. They sent her back home after rehydrating her but told me to keep an eye on her. She was temporarily better, but her vomiting did not improve. We decided she would need an intestinal search. They found a piece of the kitty kong lodged in her small intestine, causing blockage. After this incident, I became very grateful towards Queen West Vet. They kept communicating with me throughout the whole process, checking in on my cat and her condition, as well as informing me about the status of her surgery. I am certain her condition would have gotten much worse, very quickly had it not been for the doctor who saw my cat. You can really tell they truly love animals. I asked they put her little plushie that she sleeps with in her kennel when she stayed overnight to help her feel more comfortable around the familiar scent, and they actually did it. They told me she had curled up with her face in the plushie's fur all night. I know Queen West saved my cat's life and I trust them completely.

Cassandra Batts

This is the best vet clinic in the city. High quality vets, tech’s and front desk staff. They actually pick up every single call. I’ve been going here for 14 years, and they have seen me through two pet losses. Their support through the loss of my pets was exceptional. The quality of service and care they provide is not paralleled. They also take care of their staff well and are constantly upgrading their space and services. I highly recommend Queen West Animal Hospital.

Pete Ross

Best vet in town

Frances Brickhill

Very friendly and helpful.

Istvan Galambos

It is with deep sadness and heartbroken hearts that we lost our most beloved family member Luka, this Saturday. Luka, has been a member of the Queen West Animal Hospital community for 16 years. It was the hardest day of our lives and was made easier with the comfort and gentle presence of Dr. Ng and her team. Luka was treated with respect and love during her final fight. We will miss her very much. Thank you Queen West Animal Hospital.

Estelle C.

Very friendly and caring staff. More expensive services but worth it.

Akbar Ahmad

Prices were on the higher end but super friendly staff. We felt comfortable with the sound advice from the vet

Andrew Reid

QWAH has always shown top notch care for my pet and been great to work with!

Sean Duquette

They are consistently very far behind. When they realised how far behind they were, we got a consult from the vet assistant and not the vet. And they did not address half the questions we had.

Cheryl L'Hirondelle

caring and qualified!

Matthew Brydson

Have to say I didn't have the best experience here with the attending veterinarian. When I came in with my cat, the desk staff was very pleasant. After my cat was checked in, the vet assigned was absolutely dour and had terrible bedside manner, didn't say hi or reach out to her, seemed annoyed that I even have come in to bother her. After a dispassionate check up, she instructed the staff to proceed. While I waited in the lobby, all of a sudden she comes out and completely changes disposition and goes to smile and cuddle a dog that is her next patient. I can understand that maybe she's not a cat person, but I felt very unwelcome and disappointed by the whole experience.

crying jordan

Avoid this greed driven hospital at all costs. They were EXTREMELY JUDGY when bringing my sick cat there. They did X-rays and told us she had one month to live unless we paid for $2500 testing that could determine if she could even be saved …

Sandy Dhillon

Everyone from the front desk to the vet were amazing. Exceptional service and so understanding.

Al-Rahim Abdulla

I trust them. And that's what matters.

Jessica Neto

Queen West Animal Hospital has been our vet for over 10 years. No where will you meet more people that genuinely care about your pets. Pricing is very reasonable and have been able to help me in the past on very short notice. Best clinic in Toronto - hands down!

Janet Yao

Love it !! Staffs are friendly and very helpful all the time

T. Daphne Vasquez (Dafquez)

Dr. Thind is one of THE most kind and compassionate vets I have ever come across. I'm really grateful I took my babies here!

Justin Reyes

Convenient location, free parking & great staff

Anna Doulatshahi

They seem to honestly care about your pets health.

Derek Kent

I've never heard of a dog that is ecstatic when he here's 'Go to the Vet' like my dog Indy. He's only been to one vet and that's QWAH. The people are great for both the owner and the animal. I often recommend them.

Abeer Islam

Marlena DN

WOW. I've had two interactions on the phone with them and am truly so so so thankful. I'm not even a client of theirs, have never brought in a pet, and I don't even OWN a pet (presently). I came into contact with Queen West animal hospital during a period where I was in the process of adopting my puppy and wanted to gather some information about what vaccinations/care and associated costs i may expect. I called them asking for a general breakdown of what to expect and the person on the phone walked me through the entire procedure/scheduling of vaccinations. He was incredibly patient, informative, and kind. I didn't expect this kind of service, tbh i was expecting them to tell me some annoying spiel about having to come in person, but he was sooo forthcoming with information over the phone. My second interaction with them was a few days later (today) when i called them for a second opinion when my breeder informed me that my expectant puppy had a faint heart murmur. I was incredibly confused and sad when i heard the news...and since i have little knowledge of what this condition means I called queen west for a second opinion and AGAIN, they were SO. INCREDIBLY. HELPFUL. I believe the person who helped me was named "Angie." She even called me back after discussing with the doctors to give me a more in-depth answer. She was kind, understanding, and compassionate to my situation. I'm not really sure where i stand on adopting a puppy for now sadly, but when i do, you better bet that Queen West will be my first choice of vet!!! ---- This is an edit as ive been a client with queen west for the past 2 years now: with our dog and now with our new kitten. I still think Queen west is a good vet clinic, in comparison to other vet clinics who seem to price gouge. In the past they have been clear with me when recommending non procedural shots/examinations etc. prior to administering them without my approval. However, today i had an upsetting encounter with our new kitten on his 3rd Kitten wellness exam. I am very active in my pets care because i care about them AND because my finances are extremely tight (especially more so now given COVID). Today though, i could not bring my kitten in myself and so i requested my partner to. On his way home from the Queen West he informed me that they did not give our kitten his rabies vaccination as expected, and so we'll have to go back in a few weeks and pay for ANOTHER FOURTH kitten wellness exam + the rabies vaccine. I was VERY stressed when i heard of this. They justified their decision because on their records they have our kitten at 13 weeks of age (in actuality he is 15 weeks of age). While i understand that rabies shots can only be given at a minimum 16 weeks of age, if i knew this was going to be the case i would have scheduled the kitten wellness exam for the following week. Needless to say, i wish there was foresight on this when the receptionist initially booked our third kitten exam. QWV has been great in the past, and a clinic that i've recommend to several friends, as i said, i think base on my history with them, they are still a good clinic, however client trust is easily broken, and i will be much more guard dealing with them in the future.

We brought our dog in a year ago for his annual check-up, which included his teeth. At this time it was not suggested that he have a dental appointment to have his teeth cleaned but rather just brush his teeth at home. This year when we brought him in they said that the dental issues were so severe that it would probably be necessary to have some extracted. We are very concerned that this could have been avoided if a year ago it was dealt with properly. If annual check ups are meant to be preventative it seems that our one a year ago was a waste of money. While the fancy boarding facility and fire place are nice touches, I'd feel more comfortable going somewhere where the care was consistent, even with different vets. When we expressed our concerns, rather than being dealt with in a polite and professional manner and having our concerns addressed, we were sent a very aggressive and defensive email with the subject line reading "transfer file to another vet?" Very disappointed with the service and will be filing an official complaint with the governing board.

Jason Decourcy

Brought my pooch in there and didn't get the feel like I have at other vets that I was being squeezed for money not just focusing on what was right and reasonable. They were obviously caring about my dog and listened when I told them what would make her less stressed in regards to being examined. They were also honest about not knowing exactly what caused a symptom. Obviously they won't know everything and I appreciated the honesty. Glad I swapped and I am a happy customer.

Mark Chown (MPChown)

Great staff. Solid location. Been taking both our cat and dog here since we rescued them.

Britt Vee

Took my handsome kitty here when he badly split his nail leading to infection. The vet gave me a handful of options for his recovery but was not definitive about any particular treatment plan. Additionally, when I asked him about my cat licking his tail and running around the house, he told me it was probably hyperesthesia and that it is not curable. About a month later my little one had scabs on his head and was very itchy. I took him to a vet I knew well(but is much farther away) and was told that he had fleas or a flea allergy. I was told that cats will typically get itchy at the base of their tail which causes them much discomfort. I think this could have been diagnosed if the vet had shown any sense of effort or willingness to actually help. this was my second disappointing visit here. I will not be returning.

Robert O'Connell

Very polite, friendly, and helpful. Appeared to have a good handle on COVID measures to keep clientele safe. My pet was fairly relaxed (for a vet visit).

Ksenia Gerasymova

Bets hospital ever! People are care and always happy to help!

Julia Martin

Had an amazing experience yesterday when I brought in my two mini Dachshunds for the first time for vaccine and nail trim. The staff was very friendly, the Veterinarians were amazingly friendly and sweet with my dogs and all came around to say hi and gush over my dogs. And I have to say the prices are very decent and I was nicely surprised when they didn't charge me for nail trims while I had their visit. Other vets in Toronto still charge you around $18 dollars when you have a visit! Which is crazy! I highly recommend this place! As I just moved in the area, I am glad I chose them!

Anjulee Bakshi

Our 9 week old puppy went in for a general checkup and they took such good care of him. He received his vaccination shot without any issues. The doc and the tech were so calm throughout the whole process which also helped our puppy stay calm. Also, we had to take the little guy in a couple of days after for a UTI and the clinic knew exactly what to do as far as testing, diagnosing, and treating goes. It was as pleasant an experience as you can wish for. We definitely will remain with this clinic and use them for all of our puppy's health needs.

Shawnie Clark

I cannot stress how amazing this vet is. While most clinics I walk past are very closed off with a door that’s closed between the rooms and the waiting room, everything is very open here. My puppy has always had good experiences and all the vet techs are well informed. Dr Holland always has time to answer any questions I have. And any time I’ve had to reach out to them about an appointment or a treatment question they’re all so well informed. 10/10

Francesca Madeleine

We switched to QWAH after a bad experience with another vet and we couldn't be more thrilled with the difference. Very welcoming, very informative of options, costs, expectations for side effects. The new facilities are fantastic, always clean and well lit. When my pup needed emergency surgery they accommodated him immediately, broke everything down very clearly and were incredibly helpful with deciding on further care. They are also fantastic with phone follow-ups to check in after any presenting concerns from appointments. If we are ever walking by my pup actually pulls me there, not letting us continue until we stop in to say hi because they treat him so well.

Chris Swan

Great atmosphere, very professional. Always excellent commitment to the health of my pet.

Sam

What a special place! Nicest people and wonderful that you truly care about your pet. Loveliest that experience we’ve ever had!

Jamie Wasser

Queen West has been so amazing with our puppy! They always take care and time, they’ve helped us in a pinch and they never try to push or sell things on us. They genuinely care and somehow have given our puppy such wonderful experiences that he pulls to go into the vet as if it’s the happiest place ever!

I had to unexpectedly board my 14 year old, diabetic cat for 10 days. The team at Animal Haus was very receptive and capable of meeting his needs. I received daily updates about him and while it was an extra fee, the webcam access was reassuring as well. The people here clearly care about animals and their well being. It's not an inexpensive option, but it is money well spent.

Mark Andrews

A fantastic place with caring animal lovers

Moira Clark

Always excellent treatment at Queen West Vets. Courteous staff and great vets especially Dr. Scott Mathison. Their Covid protocols are efficiently observed with reasonable wait times and very friendly service. At my recent visit with my cat for her yearly vaccines and physical exam, all went smoothly with a very good report on my cat's health. However after I got home I realized that I should have asked if my cat needed another dose of flea repellant (Revolution). It's October but the weather has been warm. The next day I found a flea on my cat. I immediately called Queen West Vets (on a Saturday!) to see if I could get some Revolution ASAP. The staff person said she would put in a request and call me if the product was in stock. It was and she called me soon after so that I could make a quick bike ride to Queen West and pick up the "flea juice". A great relief because it was a long weekend and my cat would have been totally flea-infested by the next business day. Thanks so much to everyone at Queen West Vets!!

Mark Oleniuk

We love our veterinarians at Queen West animal hospital. Even our dog loves going there for his regular check ups or extended care needs. The staff is always friendly and takes the best care of our furry family member. They have also put in great preventative health care measured during Covid, to keep everyone extra safe. Two paws up from Tucker.

Eric Hutchinson

Courteous staff and a nice facility. A bit pricy, but have been very satisfied with their care of our pets.

sonya scott

We took our cat to Queen West Animal hospital for about 10 years. They helped to save his life when he was gravely ill with crystals in 2011. Dr Paula Fisher is the finest vet I have known, and cared for our dear cat (and us!) until he recently passed at the age of 17. Follow up calls, genuine care and concern, palliative care check ins (all free of charge), it all helped us immensely. If I ever have another pet again I will certainly go back to Paula. Thank you all for everything.

John Peters

As soon as I walked in to QWAH I knew my experience was going to be pleasant. The atmosphere was inviting and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They advised us professionally and didn't push any unnecessary products. I will definitely be back to this location for my pets in the future.

Maryna N

As always, a great experience. Thank you

Joann Quigg

It was a pleasure to visit Queen West Animal Hospital this week. My cat was there for his yearly check up. The staff and fellow clients are always pleasant and the pets seem to like to visit with everyone. I have been a client for 17 years and will continue to be part of this special community of professionals and fellow pet owners. (And in winter there is a great fireplace in the waiting room!)

Steffen Manderla

The Staff was very Friendly, and know how to work with their client's to make them feel at ease. Well their K9 client's that is the Hooman client's are always the worrywarts.

Mahmoud Fahmy

Very bad customer service, not helpful or charming and very long waiting even if you arrive on time, and if you arrive 10 mins late they refuse to admit you and reschedule!!! …

Pani Tabeghanoon

Staff are the only real asset for Queen West animal hospital! I wish my dog had the same doctor for the past 9 years instead of getting booked with a new one every time.

Kevin Adgey (Kevi Keyz)

The place has grown and is now wheelchair accessible!!! Dr. Matheson is so nice with the animals and is very passionate about them!!! The price is sometimes a little high but well worth it for what you get!!! It's far from where I am (12 buses,,, there and back) but still worth going. Nice environment to!!!

Do not go to this vet. They are over busy. Too many receptionists and techs seem to do all the work - looks like a revolving door money grab. After having waited a while for the vet to show up after the tech took all the information, vet someone came in to the exam room to have the vet sign papers. He seemed distracted and not bothered and the tech left to get another scale which seemed she needed ten minutes to do! They are all distracted and give a very basic service. It is NOT a full proper exam. They have you wait too long and are definitely not thorough, I have been to vets where they look at everything when it’s not apparent what the issues are. I asked if I should bring a stool sample, the answer was “if you want too” - really?! The vet Scott had to be told to check certain things when looking at my dog. Literally looked at her teeth for one second. Gave me topical solutions - things I already do. I felt the exam was brushed over. The vet tech was then not able to take blood as my dog was too squirmy - which I understand, however I was told different things by reception and the vet tech as to what the issues were in taking the blood. It was confusing and pathetic. If you are looking for a vet, I suggest looking elsewhere.

Ellen Piazza

We always had a wonderful experience at QWAH with our dog! They were quick, professional, and always willing to explain things simply. I never felt pressured to use certain treatments, and I truly felt the vets had our dog's best interest in mind. We had to leave the clinic due to relocation, but will miss QWAH. Thanks to the whole team!

Everyone at Queen West Animal hospital takes time to listen and give full detailed replies.

Yuki Lee Laura

Even worse than Dundas Euclid Pet Hospital...

Yolanta C

Best Vets in Canada! Queen West staff came through for me by providing Canada Food Inspection Agency information when my paperwork for travel to Europe was not initially approved. Anyone who has tried to travel overseas knows that CFIA has demanding standards, but Queen West came through with documentation that was provided within hours of request. They saved me from a cancelled trip and I can't thank them enough. I've travelled quite a bit and no vet office has provided the same level of service that Queen West was able to provide.

Sonya Rabeneck

The only reason I hesitate on "good value" is that I don't know what other vets would charge for the same services. That aside, the high quality and professionalism, attention to detail, prompt call back, and clear explanations were simply excellent! Much appreciated.

Joseph Ronald Albert

great service great people highly recommend

Samantha Lima Aguilar

I took my cat here after having a bad experience at a previous vet and they were amazing! The vet seemed very honest and it showed she did care about my pet and his health. She told me everything I needed to know and made sure she did not miss any details. She also answered all of my questions! She was very nice! All the staff were very kind. After I took my cat home, I noticed he was very calm in the car when on the way here, he was crying. I believe the staff made my cat feel safe and calm which I appreciated! It is a bit pricey, but I believe it is worth the price considering how well they treated both me and my pet. 100% would recommend.

Melissa Sidhu

Queen West Animal Hospital is the best in Toronto. Their staff are very professional, attentive, caring and compassionate.

Lori Brazier

Very compassionate and caring staff that always have the best interest of pets and pet parents.

Nikki

Great friendly staff and price is Affordable

Nicole Graham

I've been bringing my cat Leo to Queen West for 7 years/ since he was a baby. They've always been so helpful, answered all my calls, and squeezed him in right away for emergency situations. Leo's health took a turn for the worse this week, but the vet Paula, and the whole team have talked me through every step, giving me options and reassuring me. I would really recommend this vet hospital, they really love animals and always do everything they can for them. I'm so grateful.

Inna stukalova

They don't care about your pet or about you. All they care about is that you will come back with your sick pet again and leave hundreds of dollars for a visit and some questionable prosedures..leaving your pet as sick as it was before the visit.. it's simply a money draining machine..

Ashley Casali

Queen West always takes such amazing car of Pearl. They're gentle with her which helps with her fear of strangers.

Jonelle Skeete

Amazing staff and went over and beyond to make my daughter and myself feel comfortable and our pet was in good hands

Rene Riva

Very good and fast service.

Andrew Wilson

I accidentally put three stars and meant five. Great spot. Friendly and helpful staff. Cats seem happy every time they have to go.

Gabrielle

Very caring with my cat. They really take their time to answer all your questions and make it a positive experience for you and your pet

Geoffrey Massey

Don’t take your animals here to Queen West Animal Hospital... they will charge you hundreds of dollars to FIX your pet and get it wrong tell you a free recheck fee but charge you for all the new medicine... I’m sorry but In my field of work if you don’t do it right there first time you don’t get paid again... my dog went in for allergies and has come out with explosive diarrhea and vomiting all over my house stay away from this place!

Dian Smith

It has been almost one week since I took my cat in. Tests were done with the promise that I would have the results within a day or two. Each time I called, the desk person(s) said that they couldn't discuss it but promised that Dr.Matheson would call back. He DIDN'T. Then they had the nerve to call and ask how I enjoyed my appointment. I told them and was told that the doctor would contact me that afternoon(Fri). I'm still waiting. For $563.08 there should be some customer service. What a disappointment. Thankfully my cat seems to be recovering on her own. What a tremendous waste of time and money, but it was a valuable lesson. I Won't be back.

Paul

Handled an emergency situation with speed and compassion. Very fair price. Highly recommend

daniel potvin

I brought my jack Russell in to Queen west, describing to them that my dog was vomiting and and had daily severe diharia. The did a fecal test, said all clear...so I waited. Brought him back a few weeks later sharing that the symptoms …

I have been taking my Maltese Bailey here for the past 13 years and they have always been so wonderful at taking care of him. The reception, vet technicians, and the veterinarians are all so loving and caring and have demonstrated how passionate they are about their work. They always call to check in after procedures or to follow up after Bailey has been ill. Bailey always looks forward to going to the vet. He knows he will be well taken care of and so do I. I recently got a new golden retriever puppy, Bentley and brought him here as well because I was so happy with the care that my other dog had received. With out a doubt they made Bentley feel very safe and loved and were able to answer all of my questions and help put my mind at ease. Queen West Animal Hospital is by far the best in the city. They only want the best for your pet!

Sabrina Vallee

Best animal vet hospital

Thomas Peake

10/10 experience visiting the staff here. Very friendly, knowledgeable and caring for your pet.

Leandra Purssell

Wonderful clinic! They are very caring and very honest. I have been to other vets around the area and this one is by far the best. They truly care for your pet and DO NOT oversell you on procedures that are unnecessary. I genuinely feel like they care for my dog.

Alvin M

The new facility is amazing and the staff are top notch. Over the past 6 years we have had nothing but great experiences bringing in our little guy Wolfie.

Jennisa Visram

Dr. Ng and the team at Queen West Animal hospital are so incredibly kind, accommodating, always provide a ton of information and helpful in making the best decision for my dog. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Jonathan Bruce

I've taken my cat here several times and their staff is very polite and accomodating. They also treat my cat very well. The level of service they offer is probably better than my family doctor. Prices are on the higher side, but you're paying for location and level of service.

Stewart MacLund

Dr Paula is the most amazing, comforting, understanding, and loving (of our cats) vet I've ever had

Chrstina Riley

They are always kind and very helpful.

Constance Karpenko

There is truly no better place to bring your beloved pets. I might say "true only of the west end", except I know for a fact it's true of the whole city. So. Do the right thing and bring your fur babies here.

Rick Y

They used to be great. But for last two years, their services has not been honest. We’ve been contacted to bring in our pet for yearly checkup/vaccine. When we booked the appointment, they do not check whether the vaccine is needed or not, and told us that our pet is due for both. Turns out vaccine is not needed for 2 more years. The checkup consists of 40 min of waiting, 5 min of examination and a bill of close to $100 just for that 5 min check up. It’s not too expensive, however, the service we’ve received definitely does not match that cost. On top of this, the doctor noticed that our pet needs toilet relief, yet offer no help for that. It ended up with our pet relieving itself on the way home due to holding for too long. Will we return next year? I am not too sure.

Brian Sandoval

We've been taking our cat to this location for over 5 years and its always an excellent experience. All staff here are extremely helpful and really care about all the animals they see.

Kait W

Absolutely incredible experience at this vet clinic. I had a terrible experience at another clinic in the area and was quite nervous to take my cat to another vet for fear of traumatizing him further. Queen West was so gentle and kind to him throughout the duration of his appointment. The environment was calm, clean, and professional and every staff member that we dealt with was helpful. They even called to check up on him 2 weeks later. There's a reason that they have such great reviews. Absolutely worth the wait for appointments.

Dale Mitchell

We've been bringing our cat here ever since adopting him from the Humane Society. Nearly 6 years later, level of care and service continues to be tops - highly recommended.

Katie O

The vets and staff at Queen West Animal Hospital are amazing.

En Hua Hu

Great service, had no problem at all. The staff were very patient and welcoming. My cat seemed to be quite at ease when handled by them.

Megan Oliver

After having a terrible experience with another vet clinic, I brought my super senior cat to QWAH and couldn't be happier with the service provided. My sweet cat has had quite a few major health issues/procedures over the last few months and the staff have been wonderful. The vet, techs, and receptionists always take time to listen to my concerns, explain processes/procedures/options in full. I never feel rushed or like I don't have all the information and after any procedure they always follow up multiple times to see how he is doing. They genuinely care about the well being of their patients and it shows!

Colomba Lam

I've been visiting Queen West Animal Hospital with my dog Albert since he was a puppy and the vets and staff there are so wonderful. Albert is a VERY shy dog but he always loves going to the vet! For me the team is friendly, knowledgeable, always helpful and their follow up phone calls at home to check up on him are very much appreciated. We also like their common sense advice and they never push us on extra meds or tests if not necessary. We recommend Queen West Animal Hospital to anyone looking for reliable and common sense healthcare for their furry friend.

Nicki Mueller

Excellent care.

I have been taking my dog here since he was just a few months old. He is now seven and I will never be taking him back here. On May 28th he had his first seizure. I took him in and had some blood work done and was told because it was just his first seizure they just let it go but if he has anymore we will have to investigate further. In the evening on June 25th he had another seizure. The next morning I called in and was told the veterinarian he originally saw for his first seizure was not in and they would have her call me the next day. Well that afternoon he had another seizure. I called back and again was told that normally they would tell me to bring him in right away but they were fully booked but she would talk to the veterinarian that was in and see what they could do. The receptionist called me back and said that the veterinarian in that day did not feel comfortable prescribing him anything because she didn’t know his history so they made me an appointment for the next day to see the original veterinarian who saw him for his first seizure. Well the next morning he suffered another seizure and this one he took a very long time to recover. This is so wrong and unacceptable. How could they turn a dog away that has suffered so many seizures in such short time because his “veterinarian” was not there and they didn’t know his history?? That is his veterinary clinic and has been for the last 7 years!! They all have access to his files! On Saturday June 27th I took him in for his appointment and was advised he had to see a neurologist. That evening I took him into to the emergency animal hospital and got him a appointment with a neurologist. They put him on anti seizure medication until his appointment on Monday. He hasn’t had anymore seizures since. I was also told because of his age and breed the chances of it being brain cancer were very high because he is out of the age range for epilepsy to start. So why at queen west did nobody knows this??? Why was I not referred to a neurologist after his first seizure because of his age and breed??? I also can’t understand why Queen west animal Hospital couldn’t prescribe him the same medication and save him from having that last seizure that had such a bad affect on him. I was also told my the emergency veterinarian at the animal hospital that my dog had a oral infection and his lymph nodes were inflamed. I took my dog to queen west 3 times in the last month and was never advised of this. How do you claim to do a check up on him and don’t find these things but someone who saw him just once at the hospital was able to see this right away?? We had the MRI done on Monday June 29 and we were told our dog is dying of brain cancer. He only has weeks to months to live. I’m am so disappointed in this clinic because they did not take my dogs condition seriously and his last seizure could have been avoided if they prescribed the medication. I will never take my dog back to queen west. All in all this clinic does NOT take your pets health seriously! I will NEVER be returning to this clinic!!

Jeffrey Lyons

Despite our many visits to QWAH, this was our first true "emergency" visit. Not surprisingly, the staff made me feel at ease from the moment I brought Webster in dripping in blood! The staff was courteous, re-assuring and certainly prioritized him as an emergency. I can't thank everyone enough for the service Webster was afforded last evening (and today). It is clear that in an often demanding setting, they understand the true meaning of customer service! Thanks to all.

R Petersen

Our very of choice in Toronto! The family's dog and cat love coming here, which is a testament of how caring and friendly the staff is. I always feel like my concerns and questions are being taken seriously here, and everything is dealt with professionally. They have a service for delivering pet food to your home, too, which is very convenient! Their boarding is great - it comes with the option of daily updates and/or webcam access. It's so fun to watch my puppy run around and play with friends when he's there!

Stephanie Brown

The staff are fantastic! They took the time to get to know my dog, providing care and comfort for him. They listen to all of my concerns and addressed each of them. The staff also took their time examining and explaining things to me, ensuring all of my questions were answered. The superior care and genuine love of animals comes through. This was my dog's first visit at the clinic and I've already booked a following appointment. I highly recommend them, primarily because of the knowledgeable and authentic care and concern for the well being of my dog.

Grace

Amazing team at the animal hospital! The vet is awesome and friendly (thanks Dr. Fisher!!) as are all the veterinarian technicians and receptionists. They tend to your pets carefully and cheerfully. They’re very careful during covid with safety measures in place.

Silvie Kuppek

Dr. Fisher and all the team take such great care of our cat. Customer service is stellar. And they donate time and services to good causes. What’s not to love!

Adrian White

I brought my cat to this new fancy Animal hospital for sterilization. On the first check up, they took my cat in and after about 30 mins later, they gave my cat back and charged me $150 for doing nothing. They complained that my cat was not cooperative. I was confused, shouldn’t the vet know how to calm animals down???? How could they even charge me for not doing anything??!!! Also they wanted me to give sedative drugs on the second visit. I had no problem bringing my cat to see other Vet, should the vet be trained to handle this sort of situation better? It is unprofessional for them to just throw my cat back and charged me for nothing done. I do not recommend this hospital to anyone. Beware and go somewhere else. I have heard bad experiences about this animal from my neighbours.

brent southin

The staff are very friendly and caring and flexible with appointment times. Their prices are better then the clinic on Church street which is much closer to me.

Emily M

We love QWVH! Whether it's the front desk staff, vet techs or the veterinary staff (shoutout to Dr. Paula Fisher), everyone is 100% behind the health of your pet. QWVH is our home vet, but a couple months ago my dog got sick and we had to take her in for an emergency appointment. They were able to accommodate an early morning appointment (despite it being the day after a long weekend). This was a HUGE relief- I'm sure anyone with a pet can appreciate how quickly you want to get them looked at when they are exhibiting serious symptoms. Additionally, Dr. Fisher followed up with us multiple times after our visit with her to see how our dog was responding to the treatment. This was unexpected and such a kind gesture. Ultimately, we had to take our dog to an internist at VEC for additional diagnostics but appreciate the care of the staff at QWVH. They are responsive, honest, professional and compassionate. You will not find a better vet in Toronto.

David Dunn

The MONEY GRAB is consistently an issue here. Every time you go there is either an annual check up or some sort of precursor you are required to do prior to any requested of service OR you will not get the service you are ACTUALLY wanting. It’s unfortunate the business is exploiting the dog / animal owner. Moving on to find a compassionate business that will not dig further into an owners $$$$$ which is an already very expensive business. Even if you have insurance which covers nothing.

Tom C. Hall

Been a few years since we went to a new vet, took two cats to this place after months apart just after they had new management, one with hair coming off her ears and a second which was a rescued feral cat that was very weak from malnutrition. In both cases with just a short look over they recommended both animals be put down and immediately offered us a list of “recommended breeders” to “purchase new animals” from. First cat they said her hairloss was an autoimmune disease and the feral cat was supposedly heart/organ failure. (From no actual bloodwork mind you and a 30 minute appointment) We ended up changing to Parkdale Animal hospital to get a second opinion and no... first was an allergic reaction from eating flowers and the second was fine and just malnourished from being feral/rescued! 6 years later both cats are alive and perfectly healthy! Recent friends’ similar experience here shows that nothing here has changed, that they have incredibly poor healthcare for felines and may have some sort of kickback relationship with breeders or kitten mills. Edit: lmao don’t have a me on file? Between me and my immediate family we had 6 different cats as patients of this hospital between 2011-2017. Straight up lying.

Bryana Suraci

The staff were super informative, helpful, organized, and friendly! The atmosphere was very welcoming and very cute! The staff was absolutely excellent! They took the time to actually explain what they were doing and explain why they thought certain treatments were necessary. The staff was also especially understanding of my anxious dog and were adamant about trying different methods to help him feel more comfortable. Previous clinics have been very rough with my big dog so I was pleasantly surprised when Queen West took a more gentle and friendly yet firm approach. Like most animal care, be prepared to spend quite a bit. Overall, a great experience!

Victoria Calozet

The best vet in Toronto. They have placed the bar very high. They put your animal’s health first and you can tell it’s not about money. They alway recommend a cheaper option or tell you when a test is not really necessary. They also are amazing with anxious animals and know how to put them (and the owners) at ease. We went in for a eye infection and they followed up every week and suggested different treatment without having to pay more. By far the best vet I’ve ever been to! 100% recommend

Kimberly Sears

I had previously given Queen west 5 stars when I started with them in 2011. They were great, however after bringing a concerning lump to their attention for 2 years and nothing, I went for a second opinion and had a biopsy come back as a stage 2 Mast cell tumor (as well as a shoddy nail cut that resulted in 2 split nails shortly after, one of which needed to be removed). If a fancy reno and coffee bar is important to you, enjoy this vet office. however, if you care more about you pets well being, try a vets office less dedicated to beautification and ability to offer you a latte while they butcher your pets nails or ignore symptoms you bring them and one that is focused on your pet.

They made me put down my dog when she was not dying. This was the dog I had since I was 11 years old in which we went though my parents divorce and many other life changing events. We were together for 15 years, through the thick and thin. They told me my dog was old so it was time but other people when they met my dog thought she was at most 5 years old because she was so active. To this day I know it wasn't the right thing to do and it kills me in side that I let her down and ended her life prematurely. I still cry about it. I lost the love of my life that day. If you care about your pet please do not take them here. I see here that you replied. I understand you said something about quality of life? I see many dogs with only three legs. When I needed assistance to make one of the most difficult decision of my life you were there telling me my only option was to put her down because I could not afford to pay to over 10K you said you'd charge me to remove the cancerous leg which you were not even certain that's want it was. I was in a fogged state to make decision caused by the stress of the news about Hailey. I thought I was taking Hailey to the best vet in the city but in the end you are only concerned about your bottom line. I asked many time for her X-rays to get a second option for a chance to go to a vet I could actually afford but you wouldn't release these to be after I paid over $300 for them so technically I owned them. After you were rushing me to put her down and my refusing to do so until I could get clarity (never really had to chance will starting a new job and was super busy). After the fact I realized I could have raised money for her operation. To some people it's just a dog but she was everything to me and now she is gone forever. This was about a year and half ago and Hailey would still be here today and at least would have still been together. Don't tell me about quality of life she would have been fine with 3 legs. All she would have wanted is to be with me. I took AMAZING care of that dog.

We have been taking our 7 year old Morkie here for about 2+ years. At her first appointment, they had a welcome sign with her name on it - so cute! We had a poor experience with our previous vet, so despite her first appointment going well and the warm welcome, we were still a bit hesitant. After going here for awhile now, I have to say that we are very pleased and rant and rave about them to anyone who has a pet! Their exceptional service has been consistent. Appointments are easy to make, they are responsive, transparent, and cost efficient (yes, cost efficient - they've made suggestions so we could save a few bucks!) Definitely recommend them!

This is a very good clinic. The staff is very attentive and good at following up after each visit. I switched from another downtown clinic and would highly recommend them.

Last night, we had to say good-bye to our awesome dog. He had cancer and was only 5, so it was REALLY hard. The staff and doctors at Queen West are the absolute best in the feilds, not only technically but their kindness and realness is unparalleled. As soon as we walked in, they immediately took us to their comfort room, there was a big comfy couch, lots of treats, a big cosy comforter for our dog to lay on. Both of the vet techs were so understanding and made us lattes while we were waiting for the doctor. When the doctor came in, he gave us a rundown of the procedure and steps, and then let us decide how everything would work. He gave us some time alone with our dog before he got some pain meds. Then he took him into the back to have the catheter put in. While that was happening, one of the vet techs came in to talk to us about our options and payment. She was so lovely, did not try to push anything on us, was completely supportive of whatever we decided to do. We didn't even have to leave the room to pay. When the doctor came back, he was holding him in a big blanket and placed him down so gently, as if it was his own dog. Then he gave us more alone time with him and told us to let the vet tech know when we were ready. When he came back, he talked us through every single thing he did, confirming we were ready for each step. Then after the procedure we got to spend as much time with him as we wanted before we left. The reason I am writing this is because when we stepped out of the room, there was a room PACKED with people... Who were obviously waiting to see the doctor. We had no idea there was people waiting, because the staff made it seem like we were the only ones there. Then they asked if we wanted to use the side door so we didn't have to go through the front way with the people. They were so accommodating, kind, understanding and supportive. If you guys are reading this, thank you so much. <3 If you are hesitant to use this vet, because maybe they are on the more expensive side, let me tell you, you get what you pay for. And to be honest, we have been to other vets and they are not that much cheaper and you get no where near the level of professionalism you get here.
