We have been coming to Liberty Village Animal Hospital since they opened! I immediately connected with Dr. Ellen because of her warm demeanour and her generosity with her time as she explains everything in full detail. One thing we always appreciated is that they were never trying to push surgery or procedures. They are always 100% honest! It is nice to be able to completely trust your vet! Dr. Ellen's team is also very warm and welcoming, and you feel comfortable leaving your beloved pets in their fully capable hands! Wow this place is something else. Totally sugar-coated. And I went there because of the great reviews. My appointment was at 5:30, I called at 5:34 to say I'm gonna be late, they told me if I don't get there by 5:40 they have to reschedule. I got there at 5:40, called again as I can't find the exact entrance (in the liberty market building), they said we will have to cancel because 15 min is not enough to do tests. They close at 6pm. In this case, is 20 min enough if I got there at 5:35? It's my fault to be late but they should never schedule 30 min appointments then if that's not enough time. Any vet appointments (beside regular checkups and shots) would run way longer than 30 min. I guess they really have to leave at 6... But it's probably the best for me not going because they will not go the extra mile for your pets anyway.

I cannot express enough how much we value and love the team at LVAH! Dr Ellen Kinzel is incredible. We've worked with many different veterinarians in the past and she is by far the best. Her level of patience, caring and understanding in any situation is truly unparalleled. After each appointment, we always get a nice follow up from Frankie to see how our pet is doing and if there is any sign of concerns. This level of service feels more like family to be honest. Always take great care of our dog, and recognise him by name when he comes through the door (and all the other pets I've seen come in while I've been there), which is quite a feat! They really make an effort to make visiting the vet as pleasant an experience as possible for him. This is the first time I've had a dog that isn't scared of the vet at all, and instead runs through the door with his tail wagging, happy to see everyone! Would definitely recommend

We visited this clinic for our Shorkie first visit with the veterinary since we got him. We did not hesitate to book with this clinic when we read the customer reviews. The place was clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The place was easy to find and there was paid parking available. The vet wad very friendly and excited to see our little family addition. The appointment provided an overall review of his health, updated his shots and provided us some really good information. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

Booked Dr. Ellen one month ahead of my pup’s annual shot based on the time she proposed, which meant for me to delay my pup annual shots for 3 weeks. Love this place. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I've never been to a vet with such a wonderful staff with SO much knowledge about the product and so much compassion for animals. You can everyone there LOVES working with animals and would do anything to help you out. When we first moved to Liberty Village and were shopping around for vets in the area we were very underwhelmed by the quality to price ratio of the clinics around the area so we continued to take our black lab to the suburbs when needed. Then our black lab needed urgent care and we came across this place online so we gave it a shot. We've now made this our permanent vet as will probably continue to do so even if we relocate from Liberty. I just can't imagine taking our dog anywhere else!

Poor value and service when compared to other veterinarian's in the area. We were given a neutering estimate that was over $500 more expensive for the exact same service at another clinic. Services were also performed without our consent. I would not recommend this to any other pet owners and we are currently in the process of switching vets.

We adopted our dog at the very end of November and lived in the area so decided to give this vet a try. They are so friendly and helpful here. Our dog has a history of abuse prior to adoption and is very scared and nervous around other people, especially if they want to do anything beyond a pat on the head. They are super patient with him and still make sure to get his care in. They have also been very patient with us in answering our (many) questions as first time dog owners!

Great vet clinic! We've been bringing our bengal kitten since she was a baby to Ellen, she's always been excellent at explaining everything to us in detail and giving us lots of detail and sage advice as new pet parents. We got our cat spayed at the clinic and she recovered so quickly and so well! Highly recommend!

This is a privately owned vet, which is so important to getting the care your pet needs vs a routine work up. They have extensive experience and work with you as the owner that knows your animal. They really know their stuff, have emergency clinic experience and take exceptional care of your furry best friend. I've had pests for over 20 years and these guys are top notch.

You know it’s a good sign when your dogs pull on their leads to get to the vet. We can’t thank Dr Ellen and her team enough for the support they have given us and our dogs. From our regular appointments, to the management of our late Roxy’s various health issues, they are always available to answer our (many) questions. Dr Ellen also consulted with specialists and other vets as needed, to help with the diagnosis and to come up with a suitable treatment plan.

Awesome clinic and amazing doctor! My 8 years old dog wasn't eating and we were very concerned. We ended up sending an email on a Thursday at 9pm and got a response almost immediately with an appointment for the next day. Our dog was taking care of very professionally and the doctor explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. Plus, the cost wasn't crazy expensive compared to other vet clinics in downtown. I would recommend it 100%! Thanks Dr. Ellen!

I really like going LVAH, they are knowledgeable excellent costumer service. Prices are reasonable considering that they are located in LV and Toronto prices. A longtime and happy customer of this clinic, I was surprised at the service I received over the last few weeks as my cat's health was rapidly declining. I called on a Monday to get an appointment as she was having breathing trouble, and was told I couldn't speak to someone until the end of that week. By Wednesday I had to rush her to the Emergency Vet, where they told me breathing issues are always treated as 911 and I should have been advised to bring her in immediately. By the following Monday, I had to put my cat down. The Emergency vet diagnosed her with Cancer. There's nothing LVAH could have done for her prognosis but it kills me to think she was uncomfortable in her last few days while they advised I wait a week for an appointment. I purchased a commemorative pawprint from the crematorium and they shipped it directly to LVAH for pickup. LVAH called me today to let me know the pawprint was ready for pickup, and didn't offer any condolences or questions about what had happened. I've heard of other vets sending a card or making donations on behalf of deceased pets, and while I really don't expect that I did expect some kind words and/or the opportunity to share my feedback to help future patients in these situations. I understand with the pandemic it has made booking appointments more difficult, and schedules fill up faster but there has to be some method of prioritization or referral should emergencies come up. We rely on vets to give this advice as we're not trained or educated enough to diagnose on our own, and I feel I was let down by LVAH in this case. Every other interaction with Dr. Ellen and the vet outside of this were nothing but stellar, 10/10 experiences.

Ellen and her staff helped us SO MUCH when we brought our new puppy home! We'd often pop in as overly anxious new pet parents for some advice or reassurance which they always provided even calling to check how our dog was if he had an upset stomach for example. The advice and peace of mind they continue to offer is priceless!

When my cat was suffering after a horrendous operation from Cancer and my cat needed emergency care, my previous vet was dismissive and told me they couldn't fit me in. I called Liberty Village Animal hospital and Dr Ellen took me right away and took good care of my cat before she passed away. Now I am back with my new little whippersnapper and again, all the staff there are truly amazing!

We recently got our new rescue dog and were so nervous taking her to the vet, fears unfounded! Victoria and Dr. Kinzl were so so excellent with her! They were kind and calming, and provided us with the time we needed to discuss her care. The advice was pragmatic and the decision felt informed and totally up to us. We have had a few interactions now and they are so warm and helpful, I cant imagine being happier with our experiences! And the prices seem reasonable especially given the location and quality of service, however, I have no reference point for comparison. Highly recommend!

I’m very thankful and appreciative for Dr. Kinzl and her team. Yes, their fees are a slightly more than surrounding clinics however, Dr. Kinzl truly cares for your pet and will go to great lengths in resolving any health problems, and providing assurances. I’ve been to five clinics already, and by far this clinic has the most friendliest and most helpful staffs. Truth be told; I had my fair share experiences of vet clinics acting as if they’re doing me a favour by providing me a service when in actuality I’m the one who’s paying them! Finally, it’s just refreshing to be able to take my pup to a clinic full of people who genuinely cares and takes you seriously.

Dr. Kinzl took the time to explain everything thoroughly to us not only just by phone, but also sent a very in-depth email explaining what we has discussed during his appointment. I visited the clinic in person twice (both times during the pandemic). First time my experience was alright. My dog didn’t want to go in by herself but the lady who came out to get her was very professional and just picked her up and carried her inside. Second time when I came in for a booster vaccine the woman who came out to get my dog just put a leash on my dog’s throat (did not attach it to the collar, just wrapped around the throat) and started dragging her inside with force. It was horrible to watch. After that I decided to start going to a different clinic. I asked Liberty Village to mark my file as inactive so that I stop receiving emails from them. Today I called with an urgent problem (my other clinic can only see me tomorrow- so that’s why I thought maybe I will try this place one more time), but the woman whom I spoken to on the phone was just unpleasant. I am not a native speaker but I did research the word that I used (festering eyes). The other clinic I called had no problems with understanding me. She didn’t understand what I was saying, so I described it differently, and then I asked her for appointments for today. She asked me for the dog’s details and then kind of reprimanded me for marking my file as inactive and finally said they can see me next week. Why go through all of that hassle just to tell me they are not available today, and I clearly asked for appointments for today. No compassion at all. I felt like just because I asked them to mark my file inactive they are angry with me. Third time was not a charm and I definitely won’t be recommending this place to anyone.
