Excellent emergency care for our first visit. After researching and reading reviews of animal care in the Junction area, Jane Animal Hospital was my first choice. I was not disappointed. I had great interactions with a number of the staff, from reception, technicians and doctors. Our cat received such excellent care and they responded to my queries after we came home very quickly and professionally. This is a great animal hospital and the staff is kind, friendly, caring and professional. I highly recommend them! Covid-19 protocols prevented me from entering the facility but still received top quality care for kitty.

I moved to the area and was looking for a vet for my two senior dogs. I decided to give JAH a try because of the google reviews. One of my dogs needs regular medicine to maintain his congestive heart failure condition. I called a week before the appointment to let them know that our medicine was running low. After discussion with the tech, we decided to wait until the appointment to order in case the order needed to change. At the appointment, they didn't have my dog's records from the old vet to review because of technical issues. I also prepaid for the medicine and paid for another supplement that they had in stock. I specifically asked for them to find out if the medicine could be made in chicken or beef flavour as our old vet had ordered it this way, since this is a medicine that my dog takes twice a day and he liked those flavours. They told me it usually comes in orange flavour but that they would ask about the flavours. I knew the orange flavour would not be palatable to my dog. We prepaid for two medicines and a supplement that was recommended. Before leaving, I had to ask them for the supplement, as no one gave it to me. I expected a call within a few days, since ordering the medicine was supposed to take only a few days. One week later, I had to call to follow up. The medicine was not ordered for some reason. One of the techs said he would follow up to find out if beef or chicken flavour could be ordered. The phone line hung up on me after being on hold and they never followed up. I called back and after explaining to another tech, they apologized and ordered it. I was dangerously close to not having enough medicine left which would jeopardize my dog's health. I went to pick up one of the two meds the next day, as the orange one was still getting made. A few days later, when I went to pick up the orange medicine, they asked me if I had picked up the other one yet. Don't they have it on file that I had already picked it up? I understand that this may be a busier than usual time with covid, however only one patient was being seen at a time and with that being my first visit, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Every time I called, I spoke to a different technician. I thought having a big team would be good for availability and flexibility with a vet hospital, however I found that it was just unorganized and too many people touched the file with no one owning or caring about it. I am now stuck with an expensive giant bottle of orange flavoured medicine that my dog does not like. I could have gotten an unflavoured version of the same medicine from shoppers drug mart for less than x3 the cost if I wanted a medicine that my dog didn't like the taste of. I will be going to Jameson Queen Animal Hospital, who was recommended by our dog's rescue organization. Sorry that I had to leave a bad review, but I really wish I had better things to say about my first and only visit.

To expensive the staff is friendly but they made a mistake and gave me to much flee medication I'm on disability & couldn't pay right away for there mistake & I told them that I would pay it as soon as I could afford it & they keep harassing me also I can get the same medication online for 75$ cheeper but they don't give out prescriptions you have to buy it from them boooooo so I'll pay them when I can afford it like I said I was going to & never go back

what an amazing place! they go above and beyond and time and time again bring me peace of mind knowing that my precious cats are well taken care of. This is the only vet I have felt comfortable leaving them with. Not only that, they also surprisingly dont try and rip you off or over charge for services you do not need! They were going to have to put my cat under to check in her mouth for a procedure. after going into the back room they were able to check, and instead of proceeding so they could still charge us they brought her back and let us know that the procedure want needed! they truly love your pets and take care of then as lovingly as if they were there own. I'll never need a new vet again! what a blessing!

I switched to this vet when I moved into the neighborhood, and they have been absolutely amazing. The staff seem to genuinely care about my pet and have always been confident, professional and no BS with their diagnosis/guidance/recommendations. They've also done an amazing job establishing a protocol for this current pandemic we're all in too. I was quite impressed with the clear instructions I received via email. My dogs and I were treated like gold and Dr Amina Johnson was BRILLIANT, so were the staff in the front. I have already recommended your practice to my friends who have dogs. The quality of your service leaves me very reassured that my dogs health and well being will be looked after. Place is terrible, brought one of my puppies here for a allergy. Thinking they would explain what allergy he could possibly have. We are now certain it’s pollen allergies. The vet said he doesn’t know. Then he prescribed us steroids without doing any test to find the root of the cause. These drugs may seem like "miracle drugs" as they may stop a dog's itch within a matter of days, they are not the answer to your dog's itchy problem long-term. They will only suppress your dog's immune system and cause more health problems down the road. These people just want money.

Went today to get cat food and tried using the same coupon I had previously used there for almost 2 years on Science Diet and the new manager Julie flat out refused immediately ! Then I left and called to speak to a manager and wasn't rude or anything and she HUNG UP ON ME ! Then called back again and got the owner and he stuck up for her and didn't even offer up an apology and said I was lucky I had been getting the discount before but no more... The good thing is I was so upset that I decided to find another brand of food and boy did it ever work out for me and my cat ! You simply have to try either Orijen or Arcana cat food (85 & 75% protein). Best thing that ever happened to my pet... This place had the BEST service before but obviously they're cutting corners now so would no longer RECOMMEND THEM as from my experience if their manager is this rude and unprofessional would you really trust your loved pet to them ? I can say that I DEFINITELY WON'T and you should do likewise.

Big fan of Jane Animal Hospital! After 20 years with an amazing vet in Leaside, when I moved to Baby Point I was very wary of trying anyone new. The staff at Jane Animal Hospital are super kind and the vets are amazing; especially at prioritizing urgent cases/giving advice over the phone between annual visits. For a vet in a really nice neighborhood, they don't overcharge for services either. Thank you for being such an important addition to our community!

I've switched to Jane Animal Hospital because I moved and the previous vet was too far. I love their staff, everyone is so friendly! The vets are very knowledgeable and I love how they recommend/present options to me. In the previous vet I used to take my dogs to, I always felt they were selling me different meds/products so I was never sure if that recommendation was really necessary. Now I feel much confident when I speak to them. Also, I never have to wait for a long time, which is defined a plus! They are amazing!

Definitely in it for the money. Sometimes it takes days to fulfill requests. Different Vets there are unable to provide consistent communication. Our vet moved out of the practice which was a clue for us to stop using their services for once and for all. Our dog needs glaucoma meds and they make it difficult and expensive to access meds. They request treatment and tests when unnecessary. Stay away and find an honest vet that actually cares about the animals instead of the dream of owning a private jet.

I recently switched over to Jane Animal Hospital and have been overjoyed with their service. I had recently moved to the area and adopted a new kitten and booked him an appointment with them. I was considering keeping my older cat with my vet uptown. When my older cat fell ill (before I'd even come to Jane Animal Hospital for my kittens first appointment) I tried to get him into his vet uptown. They were very unhelpful at his vet and didn't offer an appointment until the following day. I called the wonderful front desk employees at Jane and they told me to bring him in right away. I was thrilled. He indeed was in need of help and we ended up having to get him immediate help. Thank you Jane Animal Hospital. You are so kind, helpful, compassionate and wonderful. The vet was impersonal and didn't explain what was happening. I was scheduled for a $49.86 exam. And if medication was needed It'd be extra. The vet performed whatever services he thought fit and my bill after the examination was $279.80. I was not impressed. The secretaries and the nurse were very sweet though.

Franklin endorses but... originally a 5 star review. Then 4, now 3. Due to several things in the last few months you've lost stars. A routine annual check up that took 2 hours. Attempts to make appointments, one of which was quite urgent, that resulted in my Mom having to take me elsewhere. Another time where an appointment couldn't be made within a two week time frame for my sister who now has to attend another clinic. My parents have been coming here for many years. We realize things are busier these days. Respectfully, they think your front end needs a makeover.

My girl loves them and they actually saved her life last year during an emergency when other clinics even refused to help since they said she had little to no chance of surviving. I like the vet but they do not honor appointment times. Even when you come early. Wait 20-30 minutes+ after scheduled time just to come in. Very frustrating. I plan my days but it really messes with my schedule. I may consider going else where just for this reason.

I went to Jane Animal Hospital, becuase my own vet said they were closing at 2 pm. I told the I have an injured cat, and they said come back next week.... That for me was the worst thing they could have said!! Jane Animal hospital was amazing, and very kind to book me in for 6:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. They were very good with my cat, but he needed to go to the emergency vet for proper and immediate treament. A week later I brought my cat back to Jane Animal Hospital for a check up. Albert had a secondary infection, and Dr. Roach was great about getting Albert medicated and some pain relief. Clean up the would and said to come back in a few days to make sure it's healing properly. Albert is healing, but miserable becuase he has to wear a cone :( and stay inside. But the care and attention that this Animal Hospital gave to my cat, deserves my review. I will keep coming back to this vet, as I know that they care, and the hours they have are great and convenient for working people and for emergencies.

The customer service is great. So sweet they alway remind you when your dog need to renew the vaccine and so on. Everything works great until my dog has a skin problem a year ago. I spent over $1000 here and still didnt fix the problem. At beginning the doctor insist it's allergy, and tried so many treatments to find the allergy sourse. We cleaned every corner of the house and get my dog brand new bed and blanket. Nothing improved. Then the doctory give us some antibiotic, didnt work as well. One month ago, they gave my dog a shot of Cytopoint, and started use Hypo HP dog food. This week my poor dog started itech scratch again. So dispointed. Update: After seeing Dr. Johnson, she made me a food test plan and I successfully found the allergy source of my dog, now she is reborn! Thank you so much!

5 star staff and service! They responded to me on a Sunday via chat, booked our cats exams, shots and blood work for the next day. They went above and beyond to accommodate us and our schedule. We want to apologize! This being our first visit, we unknowingly parked a fair distance down the street. However, the staff still came to our vehicle to pick up our babies and return them as we're not aloud inside due to covid. The Vet and all the staff were very professional, friendly and polite. My cats both have anxiety any time they are out of the house (to the point where I have to carry them on a leash from my house to the vet, because they won't even get into the cat carrier I have) and everyone at Jane Animal Hospital always does everything they can to make my cats feel comfortable in their space. My first puppy! I wanted a place that would have sincere interest in the wellbeing of my puppy, and not looking for different was of getting into our wallet. Somewhere they I can get honest and practical advice on what to do and how to treat our new pet. I found all of this and more. The Jane Animal Hospital has such kind, caring and informative people starting from the opening of the door to the goodbyes as we exit. The Veterinarians and their assistants are so good at asking questions and making sure they get to the bottom of everything. My puppy already had a cough at 3 months old and was still missing a vaccine. They advised to wait for the cough to go down (this cough is normal to catch when around a lot of other dogs) and then they would give him his vaccine. They called and wrote to check up on him and then I finally made the appointment with lots of reassurance that he will get better and that he was healthy enough to get his vaccine. I feel very happy and stress free knowing there is a place i can safely go to that will look after our little one so well. Very clean, welcoming and friendly atmosphere We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place that will take care of your pet they way you would want a family member to be looked after.

When we took our super shy dog, Bryan, in the staff was so caring and so loving towards him and it made our experience amazing. Dr. Amina Johnson was INCREDIBLE!!! I've been to this place three times, and after some pretty terrible experiences - and an absolute fail on accommodating someone with physical disabilities - I will now sadly be finding another vet. The care my cat received from the doctors - and the communication with the doctors - has been pretty good, and for that reason I'd love to keep bringing her there. But the communication with reception and other staff - who to be fair are all nice, and friendly - has been absolutely horrendous, confusing, inconsistent, and honestly a bit traumatizing for my cat AND me. They need to communicate better with each other, at minimum, and LISTEN better. First visit: Even though I told them that my cat is extremely fractious, and would need sedation to be handled, I was told they would take care of it there. On the day of the appointment - a 38˚ day in mid-summer - I waited outside, in the hot sun, for over 40 mins (with my cat panting from the heat), calling repeatedly with no answer, just to have her brought in. They finally brought her in, and called back 10 mins later saying she was too fractious and she would have to come back on another day. I think I paid $100 for this, plus over $40 for Ubers. If they had LISTENED to my concerns when I booked, they could have suggested picking up a sedative to give her prior to the appointment. Second visit: Went pretty well because I dropped her off in the morning and gave her a sedative at home. They performed the procedures as discussed, and despite the wait time outside on the sidewalk, long hold times (while outside the clinic) eventually leading to the voicemail over and over... she got a cute Lion cut and the doctor was great and answered all of my questions. Third visit: After booking my appointment for a sedated de-matting, I realized only 2 days before - because someone called to suggest another arrangement, that it wouldn't be possible to sedate her. If that's the case WHY BOOK US IN for it? We then had to scramble to travel from Etobicoke to pick up Gabapentin to give her prior to the appointment. Because of my previous experience waiting over 40 minutes on the sidewalk, in 40˚ heat, and because I am still physically disabled (I can't stand for long periods, and there is nowhere to sit, and also because it's winter, and she's an indoor cat), I asked via email if they could either: - Make sure someone collected her promptly when we arrived - Suggest a less busy time for the appointment - OR if there is a super long wait outside, provide me with a chair to sit on. The response to this made it clear they hadn't read or understood what I was saying. I was told if I wanted to BRING MY OWN CHAIR to sit on, on the sidewalk, that would be fine. The response to my request for a pretty basic accommodation was ridiculous. I should have canceled then, but I already took the whole day off work. So I gave her the sedative, we arrived a bit early, and luckily they brought her in within 5 minutes. The understanding was she would be assessed to see her fitness level for dental surgery, have her claws trimmed, and have blood taken. The doctor called me - again, really great to talk to, and answered all of my questions - and said to call when I was there to pick her up. When I came back to get her (I had to walk a long and painful block to find a bench to sit on), I waited on hold for about 15 minutes, calling back 4 times (and being transferred to voice mail repeatedly). The walking to a bench, sitting on low steps, sitting on concrete planters has now done damage to my body. I was happy to get her back, but when we got home I realized that she was stuck to the front of her carrier - they didn't even trim her claws. So $400+ later, scratches all over arms, she still has mats, still has claws, and now I have to deal with the claws, the mats, and finding a new vet and a cardiologist. I'm really angry. TL:DR: Doctors I've spoken with are great, but unless you're able bodied and have limitless patience for inconsistent and inaccurate communication, I'd recommend going elsewhere.

I found the cost reasonable considering Chai needed meds and higher grade vet food to cure his UTI. I appreciated the follow up email two days after our visit. I was able to provide an update on Chai's recovery and ask a quick question about his meds. Many thanks to Jane Animal Hospital. We recently brought our very sick cat in for an emergency appointment. Not only were Dr. Sterbinsky and staff professional and empathetic in caring for our pet, they were very supportive of my fourteen-year-old daughter who was distraught by the situation. I have trusted Jane Animal Hospital to take care of my pets for several years. I have a nervous tiny dog who is a rescue, and he is very comfortable with Dr. Johnson which is always a relief for us. Recently he had to go in for dental and we were worried about the wait time since it is a busy animal hospital with lots of important surgeries to do. Our dog’s trauma gets triggered waiting in a cage. Dr. Johnson made sure to schedule us in at a special time to minimize the wait, and Dr. Sterbinsky ushered him in to complete his dental first and make him as comfortable as possible. My first visit went well, I really like this hospital and the doctor that dealt with my cat when I brought her in. About a month or so later, I needed eye drops for her and I called the vet, had to leave a message and never got a call back. Went online to chat with their online agent after hours and I wish she had been more reassuring, but she promised me I'd get a call back about the drops as soon as possible. I ended up getting a call back 2-3 days later and only to hear that they are working on it. After that, I got no follow up and no drops for my cat. I continue to come to this vet for the veterinarian, as he was great with my cat. However, I have not had great experiences with customer service yet and it's really disappointing. I ended up finding another solution for my cat's eye infection, although I would have appreciated a better experience to get her eye drops.

I recently moved to Toronto and I have to get my female cat spayed. I booked an appointment and there was an availability the following week. You can’t go in because of COVID-19, so you have to call once you get there and then wait in your car. The staff will assist you with bringing your pet inside the hospital. My cat had an amazing experience. They all loved her and she was so friendly, so was the staff. It didn’t seem like it was my cat’s first time at the vet. The staff made us feel welcomed. My cat had her vaccine and she also had her blood work done. After a negative experience with another animal hospital, it was such a breath of fresh air to come to JAH. I had scheduled a routine appointment using their very convenient online booking website, but needed to come in sooner due to my cat becoming ill. They were extremely accommodating and allowed me to bring her in right away. Everyone was very friendly and complimented my beautiful kitty. It was obvious that my cat was comfortable and minimally stressed due to JAH's caring and compassionate staff. Dr. Kamula and Danielle explained all of my options and the associated costs upfront and answered my many, many questions. They were both very knowledgeable about the conditions affecting my cat (diabetes and hyperthyroidism). I left the appointment feeling as though they sincerely wanted the best for my cat, rather than being driven by money. I couldn't say more amazing things about Dr Odell, Dr Johnson and their amazing team. We switched over to this hospital a year ago when we got a new puppy (Bruce) and have since switched all of our pets over. Other hospitals in the area, it feels like a sales pitch when you walk in and your left being asked to pay for things you don't need. The JAH is not like that AT ALL. They genuinely care about animals and do everything they can to help. We have spent A LOT of time there with our puppy as his health was bad for months and they were supportive and helpful the whole time. They are always calling to check in and when I was scared about our puppy's health (and later his neuter) they talked me through everything and made sure we were okay. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've owned animals for my entire life and been to many clinics, and this instantly stood out as the best. We adopted an Exotic Shorthair not really knowing the extent of the breathing issues they can have. After brief research, we decided immediately to get a stenotic nares surgery to open her airways and give her a better quality of life. We shopped around extensively, including VCA in Markham who tried to charge us $2,000 for the procedure. I'm so thankful we chose to go with Jane Animal Hospital instead. From the moment we first contacted them they were incredibly professional, prompt, and courteous. They also charged less than half of what VCA was trying to charge us. It only got better from there. Our cat, Chloe, was welcomed with open arms and we could tell everyone working there was absolutely in love with animals and had her best interests in mind. We talked to multiple people there, through pre-op questions and post-op concerns, and every single employee went above and beyond for us, even before we actually committed to spending a dime with them (that should tell you enough right there). You know when you just feel instantly connected to a business, and like they are personally invested in you as a customer? This place nails that feeling out of the park. The procedure itself went incredibly smooth, and I don't hesitate to say they made our little Chloe's life immediately better, ten fold. She was so happy to be able to breath like a normal cat, and I can't thank Jane Animal Hospital enough for their unprecedented attention and care. Please, if you're considering any procedure for your animal, big or small, check this place out. You will not be disappointed. I hope the people working there read this, because this is a HUGE thank you for everything you do. The pick up and delivery service is a lifesaver. The nurse comes to my house, picks up my cats for the veterinary visit and brings them back when it is done. I have an adopted cat and I was so scared when she started to get sick , I’m so happy and found it very reliable that I was able to communicate with an agent via live chat and the next morning as soon as they opened they called and me and made me an appointment for that day and even though it took me a long time to get my cat in her crate and I was late they even rescheduled for me . The staff were gentle and loving with the animals there and of course me because I was an emotional wreck for my sick cat but they really gave me the best help ever . I can’t wait to go back ! I'm very disappointed with this animal hospital. They choose who they want to service. They're very unprofessional with their clients. I spent almost 200.00 with them because my dog had a minor injury. They made a mistake for my dogs follow up appointment twice. My appointment was set for 10 AM, I arrived on time just for the receptionist to inform me that my appointment was set for 9 AM. I was told to give my dog his antibiotics and 5mg of melatonin prior to his appointment just for them to turn me away with my dog without being seen because they made another mistake for his appointment today. They also didn't offer me another date or time to come in.

Having a great deal of stress when one has a sick pet is bound to happen, and don't we all want to know any and all the possibilities of the illness? I was only given the very worst case scenario, my cat needed a $4000 surgery. the panick attacks were immediate. After seeking more advice from a more experienced vet, I was told my cat had a kidney infection. She is well on the road to recovery all thanks to antibiotics. Also estimate of the visit was greatly miss calculated(someone failed at add in other charges. Oops!) making the final payment 350$ more expensive than was quoted. I will not be going back there.

The doctor was great with her, and I was sent home with a cat that was feeling much better. A week later, and she is now healed and bright again. Unfortunately we moved and his primary vet is closer to home, however whenever i pass by and need something they answer the phone promptly, always try their best to accommodate orders and have been great during pandemic in social distancing staying safe and payment methods available. Only bummer is there is not ample parking however there is limited street parking which means you can literally park at the front door if you get lucky!

Our cat Acorn was not feeling well so we made an appointment same day and it ended up being his bladder was swelled and he couldn’t pee. Dr. Sterbinsky and his team were absolutely fantastic and so compassionate with our furry family member. Acorn had to stay over night on Good Friday and Dr. Sterbinsky went in on his day off to check on Acorn and make sure he was ok. I was given constant updates and when we picked Acorn up to come home they were wonderful with his care plan and medications. It was our first trip to the Jane Animal Hospital, my one year old Rottweiler (Maggie) has a sore leg. We were greeted by the super friendly receptionist and she gave my girl a treat. Maggie was already won over. Very promptly we were taken into the examination room. I have to say at this point I am realizing how nice and CLEAN everything was! The Dr came in after a small wait and did her examination on Miss Maggie. She was fast and efficient and was sure of her findings that my poor baby has torn her ACL. She was also very understanding and kind when I told her that I wouldn't be able to pay for the surgery right away. Most vets I'm accustomed to can be sometimes pushy and will play on your emotions and love for your pet to pressure you into an expensive procedure and list of diagnostics. We decided together that we would like to try a course of anti-inflammatory drugs paired with rest, relaxation and time to try and heal her knee. She also gave Maggie more treats. Then the Vet Tech came in and we settled up for the visit and there were MORE treats! (Or course I was asked each time if it was allowed) Everyone was so kind and loving towards my dog that it made me feel so much more calm and the bill was very much lower than I had expected. I even called back a couple times afterwards to ask some advice regarding leg splints and gravol to keep the baby calm as she is still a young energetic dog who is supposed to be resting. Overall I'm thoroughly impressed with the service, expertise and professionalism I experienced at the Jane Animal Hospital and I will continue to bring my precious baby girl there as long as I live in the area. I'm sure Maggie will be happy to return as well for more delicious treats and lovins and pets! 10/10!! Would highly recommend!! Thank you for making us feel at home...

Staff was nice. My issues were disclosure and diagnosis. My dog had issues breathing/coughing. He was examined and sent home. Turned out to be pneumonia that had to be treated at an emergency vet the day after. Second I asked for the cost of an optional vaccine they offered. They told me the cost. I agreed. Turns out that the quote was for the immediate cost, they failed to mention the second booster needed with a mandatory checkup adding to the initial cost I was told.

A year after my Yelp review, I am back and just as happy as last time! AMAZING STAFF. Seriously, the best. I've had Drs Johnson and Sterbinksy (the owner) and they were both great. Conversational, laid things out clearly but without talking down to me, great with my animal (a cat, who has had to have almost his entire set of teeth pulled and a cyst looked at, beyond his check ups), and laid out the costs for me. The vet techs are all wonderful; ask the right questions, kind, obviously adore animals, and really helpful with all the little "fussy pet owner questions" I had before the vet came in. They've taught me several different techniques to help my kitty - how to introduce him to brushing, how to administer antibiotics after surgery - clearly, patiently, and with the assumption that my fluffy guy is not always going to be so well behaved, haha! The admin staff are cheerful and kind, and have always offered to help me to my car after appointments. I really love that they are building up a stock of pet supplies online that you can order and have delivered to your home. Between that and their newsletter/social media, you can tell they're really trying to build a community, and I appreciate that. (The clinic cats, Janey and Odie certainly help!) We have switched to Jane Animal Hospital for a long time now and could not be happier. Every time we need to visit the hospital, we get accommodated the next day or the day after, which is great that we don’t need to wait for a long time for an appointment. The fact that they’re open until 9pm is also a big plus as once we were able to walk in for an emergency situation around 8pm, all other hospitals were closed at that time. Their online chat as well as their responsiveness over the phone is fantastic. Super friendly and caring over the phone. The vets always call us to follow up and sometimes before the appointment to ensure everything is going well before we go there for our appointment. We are always reminded of the regular visitations such as for vaccinations etc. Their doctors are friendly and caring too, knowledgeable and always trying to provide what’s best for our dog, they never prescribe if they don’t feel the absolute necessity for the drugs, x-rays, etc. Overall very satisfied and recommend them. I am sure our dog is happy too as he always happily walks in with them lol.

Great first experience at Jane Animal Hospital with my pup George! Easy to set up an appointment, quick and thorough service, extremely welcoming staff! I made several calls prior to coming in to ask questions/consult with one of their vet techs - every single person that I was on the phone with were extremely helpful and accommodating especially considering the fact that we weren't patients at the hospital at the time. When it came time for our visit, George was taken in quickly and the wait for the doctor's call (Covid Protocols) was only around 10mins. Dr. Patricia Sailer is very knowledgable and laid out not only the course of treatment and answered all of my question! None of the staff were ever cagey about the costs of their services and I was aware of how much I should expect to pay for his more or less routine wellness visit. We are currently looking forward to our next routine visit and hope it's just as good as the first one!

We squeezed in a last-minute appointment for our new rescue dog who we've had for about a month, she had what looked like a torn nail. The receptionist was super super lovely, the one highlight of the visit, but overall was SO disappointed for our first-time vet visit. Our dog (who is so so friendly with humans and dogs alike, never showing any tendencies of aggression, coming from a foster with two foster siblings) was pretty nervous upon stepping into the office, and was muzzled because she growled at one of the assistants (dog was cornered in attempt to get her to step on the scale). Vet who saw her was very hurried, using the stethoscope on her when her heart was racing and she was shaking. Quite cold and condescending throughout, don't think he cracked a smile, and definitely didn't make any attempt to try and calm her down - just seemed to want to get us out of there asap. Also didn't bother to check her mouth or teeth, look at her skin, check out her paws - appointment was over in less than 5 minutes. He told me to take her to training, and when I paid, one of the assistants gave me a trainer's card and said we should socialize her with other dogs. She is very friendly with other dogs and this came off quite condescendingly. Altogether a very disheartening experience.

We recently switched to Jane Animal hospital - the hours were significantly better, and the location was great, too. I really am so happy that we decided to change our vet. We have a small puppy who (as puppies do) eats everything she can find a way to get into. When this happened last week, I was able to call the vet, take her right in, get her checked out, and bring her home happy and healthy. They called a toxicologist for me and reassured me that all she needed was some puppy 'pepto.' It was so reassuring for us to have that resource - they were fast, professional, and so kind. Most recently, my experience was great. I had an appointment with a vet technician who was quite knowledgable and very patient with all my questions regarding fleas and ticks and heart worm. Also, she was quite helpful with how to deal with my puppy's extra weight and choosing new adult food for her. She obviously loves animals and the way she treated my puppy during her appointment showed this. I have the puppy wellness plan at Jane Animal Hospital which has covered only some of my puppy's needs. My frustration has been that when my puppy has been unwell and has needed to see a vet, it has almost always fallen on a weekend and most often a Sunday which has meant that we have had to go to an emergency hospital which has been very expensive. In addition, my puppy's medical expenses came close to $2000 when she had a few episodes of ingesting a toxin which was eventually determined to be marijuana off the street. I think that the vet was inexperienced with how to treat this and panicked. A visit with a vet neurologist at another hospital confirmed our puppy was strong and normal and advised us how to handle another situation like this in the future. I have always found the reception and vet technicians at J.A.H. to be genuinely friendly and helpful.

We have been coming here since we got our puppy a few years ago. Luckily and what has proven to be very valuable for us was their puppy insurance plan that allowed us unlimited visits to see the vet. When booking our visits, the office was always prompt in finding time for us. The staff is cheerful and friendly, even after our numerous visits and after our puppy plan ended we didn't feel pressured to continue with another plan and I found most of their recommendation for products and services fair. Regarding price, I think they are competitive with other vets in Toronto. And lastly, our time when talking to the vet is useful. They listen to our experience and what we have tried before coming into the office, explain the different scenarios and what might have caused the problem, have answered all the questions we have then or by email afterwards, and a few days later always send a follow-up email/phone call to check how our dog is doing. Definitely recommend!

I want to thank Jane Animal Hospital for everything they have done for my dog. Unfortunately, our beloved Snoopy had to be euthanized and it was a very emotionally devastating experience. He was 17 years old but his time had come and we were very fortunate to have the staff of this hospital help us through it. I have always been very cautious with vets because I feel like many treat our furry family members like cash grabs but not this place. From the moment we brought Snoopy in, we knew it was coming and I was expecting some BS from the vet about putting him on meds that won't work- such as other vets do. Our vet did not. He was very honest about his condition and that it was time. He walked us through everything and let us spend Snoopy's last moments together as a family. The staff were so kind and sympathetic. It was so difficult to see Snoopy so weak and ill, but the vet and assistants were so gentle, caring and understanding of our feelings and Snoopy's condition. I felt very comfortable leaving my precious boy in their care. They did an amazing job taking care of Snoopy and I wanted to thank them all for treating him so well and allowing us to be together one last time. We got to say our goodbyes and spend those last moments with him without feeling rushed. THANK YOU EVERYONE AT JANE ANIMAL HOSPITAL!! Thank for taking care of our baby and I appreciate how patient you were with us. Though all the crying and multiple questions and letting us stay even after he had passed- we felt that you went the extra mile in helping Snoopy and us. I cannot recommend this hospital enough. This has been my main vet as a first time dog owner. I've always received prompt, courteous, and well-priced service especially during the pandemic. All the veterinarians and technicians are pleasant and knowledgeable, they take the time to make sure you understand the appointments and treatments. I recently made a call to the vet regarding my dog eating something he shouldn't have and they talked me through what to do and provided options which didn't include extremely expensive treatment. I was really happy to have been given options that were budget friendly and my dog was fine. Then, a few days after my call they called me to follow-up and make sure my dog was still doing okay and checked if any late symptoms had developed. I'm so glad to have found a vet which really cares about the well being of my pet.

Excellent animal hospital! I brought in a stray cat in a very serious state. They realized she had been misdiagnosed by the previous animal hospital (which told me to put her down!) and saved her life and her mobility. Since the critical few days were over the weekend, they gave me a staff member's home phone number and someone even came in on a Sunday, when they were supposed to be closed, because she needed daily care. My family had a traumatic experience at this clinic that ended up with my young pet dying due to neglectful service for a fairly common health issue. Without going into too much detail, I had no issues with the vet techs and support staff. They were very sweet and understanding to us in our moment of loss but the veterinarians came off very cold and mercenary to me. I saw more than one during the month when we kept returning, with no solutions being provided until surgery was the only option. They left me with a deep mistrust of vets for several months until I found another animal hospital that treated me and my other pet with the kindness & attentiveness everyone deserves. Writing this review won't bring my departed furry loved one back but I felt it was my responsibility to share it anyway.

Excellent beyond expectations Recently got a new pup. Booking my Rex's first vet visit was such a breeze with the help of the staff over the phone. Before the first visit, we were in need of an urgent visit and since we couldnt be fit into the weekend schedule, we got assistance over the phone and via email and we were contacted very promptly to help put our worries to rest about little Rex. Our first visit was beyond expectations as well. The staff are very welcoming, very friendly to me the owner, and especially my pup. Rex was very comfortable once he walked in. From the reception to the techs to the docs, everyone was very nice, knowledgeable, and all willing to help either in person or over the phone. I couldnt be happier that I chose Jane Animal Hospital to be Rex's healthcare provider! 10 stars if possible.

I had the recent pleasure of attending this Veterinary Clinic with my 10 year old miniature dachshund. I found this Hospital via Google and from the reviews I had read, I decided to take a chance somewhere new as our last experience at our previous Veterinary care provider was absolutely absurd both pricewise and with what they refer to as 'care' of my little ones. I called the Hospital expressing what appeared to be pain that my doxie was feeling and we were able to have an appointment pretty quickly. I believe we came in the same day. My little girl, Yolo, after the initial few moments after arriving, appeared to be pretty relaxed around all staff which was a nice change. At our previous clinic, she was always so panicked & anxious. We were welcomed, Yolo received lots of loving from the staff at the desk and we had our initial consult/examination. Everyone was very attentive and caring and all were hoping for a positive result in relieving my little ones symptoms. That day, Yolo had an examination, X-rays, complete bloodwork and test for Heartworm and received a series of pain medication for the next 7 days. All was VERY reasonably priced. To be completely honest, on top the great care that JAH provided Yolo, they saved me almost $1,000 as our previous Care Hospital was wanting to charge us approximately $1,500 for pretty much the same services 2 days prior. Yolo was treated very well and after about a week, she is back to her usual mischievous self. Thank you JAH! We look forward to seeing you again in the near future for regular check-ups!

Our lab-mix was due for her shots and a check up during Covid. This meant that the staff had to take her in without the support of my partner or I. It was her first time at this hospital and I was quite nervous given she can become quite suspicious of the vet - never aggressive, just hesitant when it comes to accepting shots, care, etc. from strangers. The staff handled the situation so well (sat on the floor with her to make her comfortable, were patient and didn't push her boundaries) and only had great things to say about her post appointment. They were not pushy with suggestions regarding care or judgemental about our dog's anxiety in the slightest - but they were honest which we appreciated. This, in return, made us feel comfortable as customers. It was a busy day when we went but staff worked quick and efficiently. Definitely recommend.

A great practice with a team of excellent veterinarians! Over the course of the past year, we've had to bring our senior cat in for a nail injury, a tumor (diagnosed as schwannoma) and most recently an infected tooth. During this time, our cat was examined by Dr. Sterbinsky, Dr. Johnson and Dr. Odell - a team of excellent veterinarians who took the time to explain what was going on, what the treatment options were and what the costs would be. They've been extremely supportive of our choices and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality care for their pet.

We've completely lost confidence in the vets at Jane Animal Hospital, and I would urge anyone thinking about going here to shop around. There's no continuity of care, appointments are basically unavailable, and frankly they're just not very good at caring about your pet. There are several different vets working here, and every time you take your pet in, it's treated as if it's the first time they've ever seen it; the vet you see that particular day refers to the notes from the previous vet, but s/he rarely has any clue about your pet's foibles, previous treatments and so on. There's no proactivity ("hey, your pet needs to get this vaccine updated"), and the basic responsiveness is awful: 4 weeks after my dog had blood tests for its liver levels, one of the many vets rang to say "oh, has anyone spoken to you about these blood results?". Despite the sheer volume of vets here, it's next to impossible to get an appointment at any reasonable notice. The options are either book 2+ weeks out, or call at 8.30 to try to get one of the limited daily appointments they have free. When your dog's condition is changing day to day, neither is viable, nor suitable for what you need. All in all, I would definitely think twice before trying to visit here

After a very difficult experience with another animal hospital in Toronto that resulted in the death of my dog, I did a tremendous amount of research before selecting Jane Animal Hospital for the care of my newly adopted puppy. This research included scouring online reviews and asking for recommendations from both veterinary professionals and dog owners in my neighbourhood. Dr. Sterbinsky and the entire Jane Animal Hospital were consistently recommended for their skill, transparency, availability, protocols and reasonable pricing. As an anxious puppy owner, I had a lot of questions which span the usual topics (ie. puppy teething, food, behaviour, vaccinations) to very specific ones regarding equipment, delegation and safety measures. The vets and staff have always been receptive to my questions and have answered them with more detail than I expected. My puppy Coco was recently spayed by Dr. Sterbinsky. Knowing about my anxiety, he called me the evening before the spay to walk me through all the relevant specifics which not only eased my mind, but also gave me the sense that he cares deeply about pets AND their parents. On the day of the surgery, Dr. Sterbinsky and staff moved my puppy's spay to be the first procedure of the day so that I would not spend the day in anxiety. Coco received a lot of attention during her time at the clinic as was evident by the numerous techs who came to the front to pet her before she was discharged. This told me that she was not just another patient number and that the staff had time to see her, care for her, and be with her. Thank you to Dr. Sterbinsky and the entire staff for taking such incredible care of Coco, and myself.

Everyone here has been so helpful and polite. We took in a stray in the middle of the pandemic and wanted to get him looked at quickly since we weren't sure of his health. We were able to get an appointment the very next day. Some procedures were adapted for the pandemic. You have to check in over the phone and they come collect your pet from the car and we paid by etransfer. Every step of the way they explained their new rules and kept things professional, simple and safe. The prices have been very reasonable. Our cat has had all his shots and neuter here. Highly recommend.

My cat was sick and got urinary tract infection and my usual vet just prescribed us antibiotics. My cat didn’t feel better but just keep getting more sick after that. So I wanted to try different vet so I can get second opinion. All the receptionists were super kind, informative, all the vets sounds very welcoming. My cat’s vet offered all the tests and explained us what will be the best examination for my cat. They also follow up about my cat after a month. Really great customer service and I’m definitely choosing this vet from now on.

We have been bringing our 2 cats here for several years. The staff has changed over time but the vets and vet techs have consistently provided great care. Recently, we had an emergency come up and they saw us right away. We have had some issues with the online vet store but the customer care people/receptionists always sort things out on our behalf.
