I have trusted the Bloorcourt Vet Clinic with my pets for many years. The staff is friendly, they show true compassion and respect for the animals in their care. I have turned to the Bloorcourt Vet clinic when my cat was at the end of her life. It was a difficult time for us and Bloorcourt treated us with kindness and sympathy and they walked us through every step. I had another cat (at another time) that required an after hours emergency clinic and Bloorcourt reached out to my family after hearing about my pet's death and they mailed us a beautiful certificate commemorating the life of my beloved pet. We were very impressed considering we did have a chance to go Bloorcourt for the procedure. I am on my THIRD kitty (a little tabby) and I wouldn't trust any one else with her health and well - being. It's true - they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. Believe me. It's worth it. Thank you Bloorcourt for serving my pets for about 15 years now <3

Thank you Bloorcourt Veterinary Clinic! Yesterday my cat Phoenix had major dental surgery at Bloorcourt, and many reading 'dental' know all that that entails, from start to finish it is hard on the pet, the 'pet's person' and the staff dealing with the 'pet's person' (I know I'm not the only crazy cat lady out there) The full experience from start to finish has been extremely caring and personal. It felt like everyone there was happy to help us get the care we need, and all the details of how to make both pet and person feel calm about the procedure. He is just waking up from his multi tooth extraction and he is purring.... The medical care has been top notch, the intake and the out patient help has been excellent and Phoenix and his 'person' highly recommend this clinic, two paws up.

I have long visited this clinic, conveniently located on Bloor just east of Dufferin, to pick up my cat Shakespeare's prescription diet food. When, earlier this week, I had to take Shakespeare first to have an urgent medical condition investigated, then to sadly have to out him to sleep, the clinic's well-trained staff were wonderful. Their training and their caring helped make something terrible bearable for us both. I will be taking my next pet here.

Small clinic with friendly staff, who are willing to make recommendations, but ultimately gave me the ability to decide what I wanted to do. For example, since I have an indoor cat, they said that the chances of getting Feline Leukemia was very unlikely, but since my cat had been trying to get out of the apartment in early fall a few times, they suggested the times when she might be at risk, so I could determine whether it made sense for me to vaccinate her for this disease. Costs were reasonable, and I was pleased with everyone I met there so far.

I always get great service here for my dog. Dr Rachael is super sweet. My only issue is that the prices are very high. Every consultation is at least 280$, which I find prohibitive. Other than that I’m very satisfied.

Decent vet but quite expensive and I do feel like there’s a fair amount of up selling. Didn’t help that they charged me again for a test that I had pre paid for, even after I asked them to check twice and they assured me I hadn’t pre paid. I had to check my records when I got home, and I was right. They did refund me the money but I don’t have a whole lot of trust that what’s being recommended is purely for the animal’s health and not the bottom line of the clinic.

I trust this place with my pets. The doctors here are very thorough and patient. My first cat I took to The Cat Clinic at Christie for his neutering. It was a regular surgery where he comes back with a plastic cone. (Very normal) For my second cat I took to bloorcourt because we had moved and it was closer and with really high reviews. He came back with a fabric cone that looked more comfortable, and also received pain meds for his next 5 days. The doctor also called and check up on him the next day, and wrote a big email to us the day before and after the surgery to describe the procedure, how to prepare, what to expect, and how our cat will feel, what his bowel movements will be like. . They also lay out all options for you. My second cat was a stray and the doctors told us which ones are optional for his exams and which ones are not. They told us the cost of everything individually upfront for us to make our decisions, and give us different prices for different options every time. I always know exactly what I’m paying for and I don’t feel scammed. They may be more expensive, but they are all expensive anyway so what’s an extra cost knowing that your pet is going to be safe and comfortable? Don’t cheap out on their health. There are other vets in the area with reviews on other clients who had their pet accidentally killed from a simple surgery due to lack of oxygen.

Very competent and compassionate service. My rescue cats (sweet, shy and very scared of strangers) saw Dr Meaghan who was amazing with them, they did not freak out! They have a fear-free method in this clinic that worked for us. The vet technician was awesome too. Examination was comprehensive and they ensured to answer all our questions.

Everyone is super friendly here. I live in Mississauga but I travel all the way our here because they don't charge me an arm and a leg the check out my pets. They don't gauge you for cash, and they literally walk you through everything they do for your animals. I once went to my regular vet and they wanted to charge me $1400 to help my cat, I was about to put him down! I called up Bloorcourt and I only had to pay half the price, thank goodness I called. I love them here, they really care.

We took our elderly cat to this clinic and she was diagnosed with feline diabetes. Until the point of diagnosis we were quite happy with this vet, but the training provided on how to test her blood sugar and administer insulin was terrible. The person who trained us (who was either a young vet or perhaps a vet tech - he didn't say) told us to go ahead and start giving her 2 ius of insulin morning and evening, right away - before we even purchased a test kit and started testing her blood sugar. We did this for a day, but luckily we have a diabetic family member who was able to lend us his old test kit, so we started testing her regularly. After 2 doses of insulin at the amount recommended by the vet, kitty nearly went into insulin shock. She seemed woozy and drowsy, and her blood sugar was so low that we had to syringe sugar water into her mouth to get it back up. If we had not had access to the blood glucose monitor (which the clinic had on order for us to pick up later in the week, because even though we told them we had a human one that would suffice ([it's different but not that different] they insisted that we needed a special feline one that costs a lot of money), we wouldn't have known that the amount of insulin we were told to use was wildly inappropriate for her body weight (she is a tiny cat). Doing what they told us to do, our kitty could have gone into a diabetic coma - or worse - and we might not have realized until it was too late. The other issue we have had with this clinic is that they are constantly Trying to sell us stuff. With a little internet research it is easy to find out that the brand of food they recommend (and sell) isn't as good for diabetics (in terms of protein/fat/carbs ratio) as a lot of other brands - but they'd rather have us use that brand so that they can make a few extra bucks? I am sure that there are a lot of conditions which this clinic has treated successfully, but feline diabetes isn't one of them. We won't be going back, as we feel like the person we interacted with was incompetent and we don't believe that it is a vet's place to sell products.

What an awful experience. We called this clinic because our dog had a broken dew claw. The next day we took her there, we were told we would have her back in 3 hours at most. 4 hours later, we get a call from the doctor, telling us the procedure (which hadn't even been started) would cost four times what was initially told. Note that there was nothing particularly special about the injury (I had actually taken care of it myself in the past). Since they had already performed a "check", I would have been charged anyway, so I decided went ahead with the procedure. However, the lack of transparency and ethical behaviour by the staff, as well as the gross overblowing in the necessary procedures (for example, a simple bandage cost nearly $70) was absolutely appaling. I'll never be taking my pets there again, and I'll make sure to advise my friends not to do so either.

I love Bloorcourt Vet Clinic. I've had cats my entire life and they've always received the most consistent and thoughtful care here. My concerns are addressed, and I feel I'm given plenty of well informed options. One of the best things about Bloorcourt is that I never feel like I'm being gouged or pressured to invest in tests or treatments that aren't necessary. I appreciate the follow up to my cat's visits as well. As for Dr. Bruce, she's my favorite vet who's ever cared for my cats. I feel she's super honest and knowledgeable, and that she really cares about the well being of animals in general. I can see the difference in my cat's well being after she's cared for him. Rosemary and the technicians are equally awesome. Such a super business all around.

Had a great experience with the staff and vet. I was scheduled for a teeth cleaning, extraction for my chorkie today. Elaine her nurse was just wonderful, was really helpful and informative with what was going on today during surgery. The experience was very comforting and caring. I am happy to say, my beautiful chorkie is recovering well, with clean polished teeth. I highly recommend this clinic and looking forward in visiting the staff again. Elaine, thank you for watching over Lily, I know how much you wanted to keep her for another night LOL. See you soon!

Seems a little on the expensive side. Also the exam that they charge $70 for in order for you to be able to get your vaccination for your dog was a little on the skimpy side.. they didn't even look in my dogs mouth or at her teeth. ** Update. Now they are calling me at 8:45 pm on a Friday evening for some reason trying to address the problem because they read this review. While I appreciate the concern for their reputation I find this tactic tone deaf.

I just took my cats here for the first time. My cats haven't been seen by a vet for a long time for two reasons 1). vets intimidate me when they have a pushy approach with services 2). my cats are intimidated by vets. Both those issues were non issues! For one, all staff is super friendly, responsive, and caring. They made my cats feel at ease and recommended ways I can make their visits less stressful. Secondly, I did not feel at all like services were being pushed or that I was being judged if I questioned necessity (we all know how expensive vets can get!) They simply provided me with a professional and informed opinion. This builds a level of trust and comfort for both me and my cats :)

My 2 yr old bully, Kora, has had breathing problems since she was born. she always made awful noises and coughed as if it was kennel cough. Every time I took her in to our previous vet he would say "this is normal, its a bully thing" . I knew it wasn't. i took my cat to Bloorcourt because he was long overdue for a checkup. This was his first visit to the clinic. The news was not great and there are gonna be a series of tests for my poor kitty. But the doctors and staff at the clinic are fantastic! So thoughtful and caring and despite having to be outside the clinic doors waiting for him they keep in contact explain things thoroughly and thoughtful and since I've pretty much got a phone call check in everyday! You can not do better for other pets care. I’m thankful to be taking him there.

I've taken my dog here for almost a year and every single visit has been incredible. Our pup loves this place and people so much he RUNS inside - no fear or hesitation. We've had all of his shots here, gotten medication and his neutering. Every single appointment was organized, on time and positive. These staff really care about the pets - and the owners too! I did my research before choosing an office as I wanted a holistic approach to animal care and I am very pleased with this practice. Thank you to the clinic for their positivity and helpful suggestions. The staff was very welcoming and overly kind to both of us. Dr Galina offered me paperwork and reading material on vaccines instead of insisting that everything be administered immediately. I was given helpful suggestions for supplements and dietary offerings instead of medical advice for occasional/re-occuring GI issues that Nebo experiences. YAY! My fear of vets that push medication and stinky vet-pet food have been lifted. I will happily refer friends and family to this clinic and finally begin yearly/regular check ups :)

Bloorcourt has been my vet for years. The staff is caring and professional, and they are as gentle with my anxious, mean cat as they are with my relaxed anything-goes cat. They make room when I have a truly urgent issue, and can get me routine appointments to suit my schedule. They let me know all of the options available for testing and treatment, but are not judgmental about my cost-benefit analysis regarding how much care I can/will provide my pets. Similarly, they provide reminders for follow-ups, but don't get judgmental when those are delayed or overlooked entirely. They were respectful and compassionate when they had to put down a very old cat of mine many years ago. They are not cheap, but the staff are worth it and I'm sure rent is not cheap either at their very convenient (for me) Bloor Street location.

From my one experience (not my cats' normal vet clinic), the male doctor we saw is fantastic with cats. I would consider taking my cats here if I lived closer. I have found a number of vets and their staff (from several clinics) don't know how to deal/interact with cats that are scared or otherwise and it is always such an unpleasant experience for everyone. This place was not like that and the feral kitten I had with me had no issues. Only complaint is getting there by car for us. It isn't local enough for me to return at this time.

Amazing team! Very friendly and compassionate. Prices aren't any higher than your average vet. They moved across the street so they have a much more accessible entrance now. Chances are there will be a wait of up to 10 mins as appointments do tend to run late but I have never been to a vet or a doctor's office where this doesn't happen. But if you're planning on a quick drop off or pick up it's best to plan that it'll take about 15 more minutes than you thought. Close to the subway.

We have been taking our rescue dog Ru to Bloorcourt for nearly a year now, and we have always had a great experience. The staff are kind, courteous, and extremely empathetic. Our little Ru is quite anxious, and every vet that we have spoken to there have explained all of our options, and never made us feel bad or weird about choosing to medicate her to help Ru be her best self (and it's working!) The clinic has mostly female vets, which is great for Ru as she has a fear of men. There is at least one male vet, who Ru has seen, and he was quite gentle and respectful of her boundaries. The vet techs are also wonderful, and Ru has loved meeting them all so far! They are also very conscientious of costs, and often recommend other solutions for reducing cost like bringing vaccination dates closer together so that they can be all done in one visit instead of two. Highly recommend this vet clinic!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This vet clinic is absolutely awful. The staff treats the animals and their owners with no respect, care or effort. They were very rude and heartless as soon as we walked into the door. They didn't even say hello before commenting on my dogs weight calling her extremely overweight. We will NEVER be returning and will strongly encourage others not to go to this clinic either. The staff is clearly very uneducated and only care about the money charging me for everything under the sun when it was completely unnecessary. I wouldn't trust them with any animals.

Fantastic, upbeat doctors and supporting staff here. My 6 year old boxer cross was diagnosed with diabetes just over a month ago and everyone at this clinic has been amazingly helpful and attentive to him. I have full confidence in this veterinary clinic would recommend it to anyone with a fur baby!

I would not recommend this place. So many friendly professional vets in Toronto, this place not one of them. At this place I went to with my partner, they tell us there is nothing wrong with our dog even though dog is sick, charge for lots of tests that they did nat run, I know this because I went to other vet and they tell me immediately what the problem was and fixed with simple medicine. Staff here are unhelpful and do not know job

They are nice but a bit overpriced. Probably better if you are looking for a luxury vet clinic. I was quoted a high price for a surgery with the option of getting a pet credit card to cover the cost. They made it seem like it had to be done immediately so I kinda got scared and stressed trying to figure out how this can all work. I took a deep breathe, gave my cat her antibiotics, and did some research. I ended up finding a place that was very reasonable and caring towards my cat and my wallet. I believe that they would have done a good job with the surgery, it was just a lot more pricey.

If I could give this clinic more than 5/5, I would! We were always welcomed warmly and everyone seems to truly love their work. Love their team approach with the vet and tech present for appointments, which helps things move along efficiently and offers an extra set of hands. Vets were always prompt in giving test results and Dr. Krystyna even kept an eye out for my sweet girl's results over a Holiday weekend when the clinic wasn't open. Dr. Mark's acupuncture is an excellent option and helped keep my girl feeling her best. Even though I moved out of the city, they still kept in touch regularly and even sent a card to my new address when they learned of Queen Sadie's passing. In her 16+ years Sadie met quite a few vets and this clinic is really something special!

Even though they were running slightly behind, the staff made sure to take the time to answer all of my questions and to clearly explain all the the shots and test options (and prices) up front for my dog's annual exam. My dog has figured out what happens when we go to the vets, but she gets such a warm welcome and plenty of treats and pets that she doesn't seem to mind the few needles. There wasn't a single member of the staff that didn't react positively to her during our time there and they made every effort to make her comfortable. They got back to me the following day with all her results.
