Excellent experience, the vet was very nice and answered all our questions. The clinic is very clean too, and the "Welcome " on the white board in the exam room was a nice touch! Definitely recommend, the cost is quite reasonable too, the vet even discouraged us from making a test that we asked for because she didn't think it was necessary saving us a couple hundred dollars.

No pressure for services you don't need just suggestions and I found that other vets kept pressuring me to neuter my chow and I didn't want to be forced into the decision (hence I left other vets). Here they respect my decision and educate on risks/benefits of keeping him intact. Very caring staff.

Our cats have been coming here since they were kittens. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating with appointment times (even in emergency short-notice cases). Helen and Melissa are both excellent doctors who show genuine care and interest in the well-being of the animals they work with. Also a very honest organization - they don't try to up-sell you on procedures/medications your animals don't need, and they don't overcharge for their services or products. This is probably the best vet clinic in the city.

I've been going to Bickford Park for about seven years after having bad experiences with three prior vets (I have a twelve year old Yorkie mix, and a nine month old Newfie). You can tell that everyone there actually cares about your pet and they'll never push unnecessary tests, procedures or anything on you. With any other vet I had, if I called with any minor concern they wouldn't give any advice and would make me come in to do a full exam on my dog. I've emailed and called Bickford several times with small concerns and they gave me advice and suggestions without having me come in, even to the point of looking at pictures free of charge to let me know if I should bring the puppy in or not (they determined no because it was normal swelling). All of the vets there are amazing as well as all of their employees. I can't recommend them enough. I've even had several co-workers switch to them and they all love Bickford as well! I live far away now, but we still bring our dogs there because I don't think I can find a clinic nearly as good for them and I know my pups will always be in the best care there.

After having negative experiences at a former vet, I switched to Bickford Park Animal Hospital about 3 years ago for both my 9 year old cat and 7 year old dog. They've always taken time and great care in their regular appointments to get to know my pets' personalities and their health needs. Last year, my cat had to have a cancerous toe completely removed shortly before I took him on a 3 month visit to Spain. All of the staff were incredibly supportive and helpful before and after his surgery all while preparing him for his trip. The surgery was a VERY sudden expense for me and I was a student at the time with a lot of financial stress - the vet took this into account, removing any unnecessary costs she could, like a new cone, gave me a small discount on the procedure itself, and did not charge me to have his stitches removed. While we were in Spain, they followed up via email, and asked me to send pictures of his healing toe. What a committed, considerate team! I am so incredibly grateful they're my pets' doctors.

They give you all the facts and do not try to sell you something, they give you suggestions and alternatives that help you save money (i had a not so good experience at the last place we went to). I should have wrote this review a couple months ago. This is the best vet I have ever been to. I brought in my kitten when she was sick and they did everything they possibly could for her. Very affordable and they care so much about the animals that come in it warms my heart. Dr Helen is such a sweet lady who cares very deeply about her patients. I will always come back! Great veterinary clinic. The staff is always friendly and suggests what they think would be best. However, last time I was asked if I wanted to get a leukemia shot for my cat I declined, but this time I wasn't consulted about it and they just gave it to her and charged me which I wasn't thrilled about. I do hope this is the last time the vet will go through with decisions like this without my consent.

Surprising Lives

Sadly, I'm editing my previous rave review for Bickford Animal Hospital. At our last visit we saw a Veterinarian that was new to us, not Dr. Helen. The Veterinarian seemed nice BUT completely failed to address our cats main problem and the reason for our visit. Instead she insisted on one blood test (that failed to show anything) and a diet change. The bill was over $500.00! I was stunned at the cost, I even asked if it was a joke or mistake. Anyway, this is no longer a well priced or competent clinic. Too bad, we'll have to look for another good place. Here is my original review; Bickford Park Animal Hospital is an undiscovered gem in our neighbourhood. As "cat" people, living 20 years in this neighbourhood we have been clients of numerous veterinarians. Dr Helen, as she likes to be called, we find, is outstanding. Very knowledgeable, kind, and supportive. Her clinic and services are excellent and incredibly well priced!

So happy to have finally found a vet we can trust. Doctors Helen and Melissa take the time to give excellent care for our cats without over-charging. We are never rushed or passed on from vet to tech to another vet etc. They give personalized and genuine care and keep in touch with support when there are health difficulties. They are excellent communicators - clear yet empathetic - which is helpful during both the healthy times and the difficult times. They have helped us through two serious health issues with our cats with great compassion and with the best information and options presented to us clearly and honestly. We feel supported by all the staff who are friendly and helpful. We have been to many vets in the city over the years and were never impressed with the service. I can’t say enough positive things about this vet office. Wonderful, considerate staff, knowledgeable doctors who always present all options and never guilt you into services that may not be necessary. My dog got blood work on a Saturday and the vet called Sunday just to tell me not to worry! These considerate acts go so far when worried about your fur baby. Do yourself a favour and go here!

My cat goes here and i'm happy he does. There super friendly and helpful. They write your pets name on a board in the room your pet is going into, in order to welcome your pet. Which tells you they actually care about your pet. There gentle with my cat and i'm grateful for that.

I'd put up 5 more stars if i could! The team here is in one word: phenomenal. I've been with them for the past 3 years since when I first got my puppy and they have been so supportive and attentive - to the point where we've moved countries, and they're still there to answer a panicked question if the need arises. Henry used to love going to the hospital because he knew he'd be greeted with tons of attention and treats and gentle handling. The doctors are patient and thorough and take the time to explain in detail and simple terms what the problem could be. They also follow up to ensure things are going well well after the visit. If you're considering a new vet/hospital for your fur baby, I'd say don't think twice and just walk in for a visit. You'll see and feel the positive vibes for yourself.

I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Every single staff member goes above and beyond for the animals that come in. My dog gets really anxious at the vet, and they will literally sit on the floor with him to check him out and give him his shots. Not only that, but they will go to great lengths to get you information. My dog also needs to lose a few pounds and Dr. Rachel figured out TO THE GRAM exactly how much food he should be getting. When I emailed my concerns of feeling like I wasn't giving him enough food, Dr. Rachel and the staff quickly offered multiple solutions on how to help him feel more full without jeopardizing his diet. To top all of that, their price point is much more affordable than a lot of other vets in the city. You will not be disappointed bringing your animals here!!

I highly recommend Bickford. After going to 6 different vet clinics, I've finally found a place with the best staff and doctors! I've been going to Bickford for 3 years now and have never once regretted my decision of choosing this place. The staff are extremely pleasant to deal with and all the doctors here are very knowledgeable and kind. They aren't money hungry like other places and they only care about the overall health of your pet. They have never tried to persuade me into doing any additional tests or purchases if I didn't think it was needed. The pricing here is amazing and reasonable which is a bonus as well! I moved to the west end of the city a year ago and brought my dog to Bickford Animal Hospital. Before moving we had been going to an amazing vet in the beaches for many years. Because of this I would say that I had some high expectations for the service I was expecting to receive. When I brought my puppy here a couple of years ago, I was constantly being upsold by the vet to get unnecessary procedures done, like teeth removal when they ended up falling out on her own and being called at work to buy flea preventative medications. Other animal clinics have demonstrated in doing only what's necessary for my pets well being. The support staff at the clinic were all excellent though!

I had to switch vets due to a mishandling of a traumatic event and my dog is very sensitive because of it, Bickford has been absolutely incredible!!! They always do their best to make him calm and comfortable and the quality of care they provide is outstanding. I truly cannot say enough good things about Dr. Helen, she is so caring, compassionate and straight forward - she always takes the time to really discuss your concerns and I appreciate it so much. The doctors here are amazing and very knowledgeable. The team is super helpful and nice however just recently I did a blood test for my cat and was promised a call back from Dr. Asha about the results but it has been more than the promised time but have not received any call. Moreover when I called the office, I had a very rude lady answer the call. When I inquired of not receiving a call back as promised she said she may reach out to me tomorrow at the earliest and just abruptly hung up . This was very unprofessional, If you didn't have the time to attend to my cat you should have told me that before, I would take my cat elsewhere!!

This veterinary clinic is great! I took my very old cat there when he was obviously wasting away. The doctors investigated thoroughly and gave us a few options to chose from. When it became obvious that he was dying, they were very honest, explaining tactfullty there were lots of things they could try, but he was dying and in pain. We decided to put him down,. The whole staff was very compassionate.

I've been meaning to write this for a while and yesterday was reminded why. I own a local dog walking company (K9 Kate's). Most of our clients bring their dogs here and all of them that do love this clinic. Personally, over three years, I have brought dogs in to the clinic three times and called for feedback MANY (many!!) times. The staff is helpful, supportive and kind. Yesterday, a black lab in our group was nipped (she is ok!) by another dog. Of course, this is upsetting and the what ifs can circulate pretty quickly. We brought the pup in for a closer look. The team saw her immediately, cleaned her ear, and explained it was a superficial scratch. I don't have to think twice about bringing dogs in because Bickford Vet is ALWAYS this helpful. This has very real implications that make both my life and my clients' lives easier while ensuring the safety of dogs; I never have to second guess bringing a dog to Bickford. My clients, on all three occasions, were grateful that I brought their dogs' in, even when medical treatment was not needed. Bickford's care allows me to operate a better safe than sorry company that, again, only works to help me, the dogs I walk, and their parents. Earlier today, another client had expressed frustration over his current veterinary care; nothing majour but there's been growing dischord that left the client feeling like he couldn't trust his vet. When I suggested it was time to consider a change and mentioned Bickford Vet, he said with relief that a friend had made the same suggestion not 5 minutes earlier. I really can't recommend this clinic enough and am moved by how wonderful they've been.

Excellent service! Both the doctor and the assistants were very friendly and caring! After 5 days they called me to see if cat was better and as he was still improving the doctor asked me to come and take more 5 doses of antibiotics to make sure he’d recover completely. Brought my dog in for a check-up and was informed he was healthy as could be. After finding out my dog was on a raw food diet the vet and vet tech tried to coerce me into buying the kibble sold at the clinic due to the risks of salmonella ( to me) from handling raw meat. If you go here beware the unscrupulous upsell.

I choose this animal hospital because of number of positive reviews and high google rating. We were willing to come here all the way with our pup from different neighbourhood. Our first appointment with Dr Helen was great, we had connection and she gave us a lot of useful information to help first two weeks with a puppy. Today, unfortunately, our visit was disappointing. My partner with a puppy were running late because elevator in our condo went down (yes as simple as that, can happen to anyone) I came earlier to give a heads up to front desk staff. Lady at the front desk rolled her eyes when I told that he will be here in 10 min max and I felt unwelcome right away. When he arrived at 10.10 am we have been told that it was only 20 min appointment (we didn’t know that) and we have to reschedule. The doctor is nice, but if you will be late this place won’t be supportive, and of course I wish front desk staff can be more well mannered. We decided to go to another clinic for puppy shots, and not sure if we are coming back. Sad...we liked this place at the beginning.

I couldn't say anything but great things about this clinic and the people working there. I was so worried when my senior cat got sick, and they were able to get me in that very day, which was a huge relief. A major issue for me was the money; I'm 17, living on my own, and going to college with no financial support from family, so a vet visit was an expense that I just hadn't foreseen for my very tight budget. Thankfully, the vet was able to help me in finding the best treatment plan that would ensure both my cat's health while remaining financially viable for me, which was an immense weight lifted off my shoulders. Now my cat is healthier than ever and I've found the vet she'll be seeing from now on!

I was freaking out because my cat had diarrhea and was puking and they were able to fit me in right away. The vet, Dr Lisa in this case, is so kind and understanding and doing everything she can to help and for a reasonable price as far as vets go. I was using them in an emergency but i’ll be using them going forward for my cat’s care. Reception is really nice and understanding and i was definitely having a bit of a panic attack when i called reception and she was so nice about it. I have faith that my cat’s issue will be resolved and I would recommend this vet to anyone.

I found this place by looking online at a third-party review site where customers could review veterinarians in Toronto. Many Torontonians had given this place many 5-star reviews, praising their kindness, knowledgeability, customer management, and price point. I thought if all those people had great experiences, then that is where I should bring my dog. I recently had trouble expressing my dog’s anal glands and was very worried about the glands bursting! I called the vet and they made time to see my dog the next day, I was relieved. When I brought my dog in they gave her treats and remembered her from the last visit. The vet worked on expressing the dog’s anal glands – which were rock hard and very hard to express. Although my dog Charley was experiencing discomfort the vet took her time to make sure she wasn’t causing needless pain to this problem area. When I got home my dog was running around and jumping on the couch and was so happy to not have to deal with that discomfort any longer. I am so happy to have found Bickford Park Animal Hospital. They don’t rush you and they give detailed feedback on what is happening with your pet and how to treat and prevent future issues. Bickford Park is the only place I trust on treating my beloved dog.

We just recently switched to Bickford and we loved them from the start. Today we had to say goodbye to one of our cats, Brown and the staff at Bickford was absolutely incredible. They were so kind. They explained everything so clearly, and gave us as much time as we needed. We felt so incredibly well taken care of. This clinic is the best I have been to in over 30 years of sharing my home with dogs and cats. Dr. Courtney is very knowledgeable and communicates all possible treatment options and outcomes clearly and with compassion. You can tell she loves animals and even my skittish rescue pup adores her. The other vets in the clinic are also wonderful and work as a team to when emergencies come up. On top of the great and affordable veterinary care, all of the staff members are so helpful, kind and supportive. I would 100% recommend this clinic to anyone with pets.

Reception wasn't respectful, she was outside ignoring me trying to let her know I arrived to pickup prescription. She locked door in front of me without explaining the process and left me standing outside alone. I was standing outside, not knowing what to do. All I needed is to pickup prepaid in advance medication. When I started knocking the door and getting upset, she came to the door and said that I have to call. I didn't have my phone with me. She could just asked why I am there through glass door and give me medication. Instead I had to go back to my car to get the phone and call her from there. Then come back and only after that she came outside to give me medication. They pointed out to me that they did everything correctly and I have no reason to get upset. If that wasn't enough, I got a phone call from their office today and thought that they would like to apologize for treating me disrespectful but it appears that they called to let me know that they did everything correctly and if I upset at such minor incident, they would be happy to send my doggy paperwork to another clinic. I am in complete shock, never being treated this way. Absolutely cold, unconsiderable and disrespectful. They don't need business, they don’t care.

I've been wanting to write a review for a long time now because they've been our clinic for almost 4 years, for our cat at first and now for our dog, and this is the day because I just came back from an appointment there. First thing about the Bickford clinic: our pets like to go there! Their service is perfect, they're the nicest vets and they're not very expensive when you become regular customers. Over the years, they always told me to come within the next hour when I had an emergency with my cat or my dog and they never pushed me to do more exams than necessary. They also always detail everything to you and they understand and help you as much as they can when something comes as a surprise, like the cost of a surgery etc. For my cat vaccines, I usually just drop her and if I don't have any question, I just pay for the vaccine. When you need a consultation, they take time and inspect everything if you're worried about something specific. I highly recommend this clinic and the team there! The only thing I regret is that they don't take small animals and we struggle to find a vet when our guinea pig needs to see someone.
