After reading many positive reviews, I took my 18 year old cat for a second opinion regarding removing a tooth. After waiting 45 minutes, Dr. K's wife came in, who apparently is the surgeon of the clinic, examined my cat for all of a minute and said that she had a strong heart murmur (my previous vet said mild) and that she would not put her to sleep to work on the tooth under any circumstances. She asked if I wanted her to just pull it out now if it was loose, with people holding her down , or to try to 'knock' the tartar off and then asked me which tooth it was. I told her she is feaked out now, I cannot imagine what would happen to her if she did that particularly if she was in any kind of pain. She had the blood work from the previous vet and barely looked at it, asking me about whether the thyroid was tested in the blood panel (it was and was in the results). My cat was scared beyond anything I had seen, this vet's bedside manner was awful and I left with heart medication to help get her heart rate down (she was petrified and was told that that had nothing to do with it) and a date to try to deal with her tooth without anesthetic. I left, wondering what the heck had just happened, and after giving my head a shake, I cancelled this appointment, never gave her the medication and provided detailed feedback to the clinic. Terrible terrible experience.

They came highly recommended by my brother-in-law. My dog was badly bitten by a dog and my "regular" vet made an appointment for the next day. I called BDAH and they saw my dog same day! I was impressed with everything about this place. The Vet (Attila) was fantastic and cared for my dog as if it were his own. We just finished our follow-up appointment and, again, impressed with the service and care! Three different staff dealt with me at various times and all were friendly and caring, Bonus...the price is 30% less then my previous vet (don't tell them!).

Drs Koroknai have helped us look after our cats for over five years. They are great vets, and really do care for the animals that come in to see them. We have been very happy with the level of service and professionalism at the clinic, and while not cheap, we do think the prices are reasonable. The clinic itself is smallish and no-frills, and usually has a few dog and cat patients waiting in the sitting area with their owners. We normally have to schedule ahead for a regular appointment, but they have seen us on the same day in times of emergency.

Dr Attila is simply the best veterinarian doctor in Toronto I have ever had the honour encountaring . His attention to detail, genuine empathetic nature when treating animals and friendly personality in general are the qualities that make him stand out from so many veterinarians. In the past, I consulted many vets and none would even come close in comparison to Dr Attila Koroknai. He trully is an outstanding doctor who has profound knowledge in his field and goes above and beyond your expectations. I have been going to this clinic for a few years now after a co-worker referred me to Dr Koroknai and I am so so grateful to her for that referral. The clinic can get very busy as they have both great service and reasonable rates. However, despite being so busy, they always manage to squeeze me in and sometimes even at a very short notice. I highly reccomend Dr Attila Koroknai and Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital to everyone!!!

This is a great vet clinic. I've been coming here with my cat for 6 years and will continue to do so. The staff are always friendly and most of the vets I've worked with are very good, especially Dr. Koroknai. He is very patient and listens to your concerns. They always call with follow up results and recommendations if tests have been done. The prices are reasonable and generally speaking the wait times are not bad. They are usually pretty good at getting you an appointment on the or close to the date desired. Very happy with the care my cat has received.

After 5 years, 2 cats and a new puppy I am happy to say I have always had the best experiences with Bathurst Dupont Animal Hospital. As many others have said, the care taken with the animals is exceptional and the rates are more than reasonable. Dr Koroknai is great and we've been going here since November but the place seems way too overbooked and sometimes I feel like they forget what diagnostics they've already done on my cat.. Over a week and a half to get my cat another steroid shot (with any of their vets) for her allergies meanwhile she's chewing herself raw. :( When I want to cancel the appointment because I went to another vet I can't get through their phone lines - it goes to an answering machine that..doesn't take messages. I really liked this place but for anything more than routine checkups I think I'll have to find another vet who isn't so busy.

We’ve taken our 2 cats and dog to this vet for over a decade now and they are the best vets around (we’ve been to quite a few bad ones in Toronto). The duo Dr. Koroknai vets genuinely care about your pet’s well-being. They’re very kind, gentle, sympathetic & empathetic and always offer you the medical assistance required. They don’t try to charge you for extra procedures, meds, foods, etc. that aren’t required to make extra $ like many other vet clinics. We’ve never had any issues getting an appointment when required and they are efficient yet thorough and explain everything clearly and the fees are very fair. We have trusted them with our two late furry friends and our current geriatric cat for the best care & will continue to trust them with future pets to come. Their support staff are all lovely as well and take great care of your pets when they’re hospitalized for the day to have test run, etc. I can’t say enough great things about this wonderful animal hospital. Wish we could have more honest, genuine vets like them around.

Their service is horrible. Their blonde nurse always offers sass and a cold attitude. We had to come back 2 additional times because of stitches they FORGOT to take out and THEY gave us attitude about botching THEIR job. The vet then proceeded to declare we should report him to the association if we wanted, he didn't care. All because we dared to ask for them to fairly compensate us for the two additional trips we had to make for them to finally get all the stiches out. After that, he sent one of his assistants to throw us $30 cash. I would highly recommend you take your dog elsewhere, we are lucky ours did not get an infection.

After getting quotes from 5-6 places around Toronto for a cat teeth cleaning, the Bathurst-Dupont Animal Hospital had the most affordable, yet comprehensive cleaning I could find. We brought in the cats for their rabies and to get initial blood work done for the cat who needed her teeth cleaned the most and the staff and vets were so kind to both our cats and us throughout the entire process. They actually took the time to investigate why our male cat has slight trouble walking (more than the “it’s a cat”, and less than a “I wouldn’t know without an xray” quote I usually get). After they finished the dental cleaning, I received a nice call from the vet who performed the cleaning detailing what happened. I picked up my cat who had been well taken care of and she is recovering nicely from her tartar removal. They didn’t add on extra charges that weren’t necessary, and took great care of our girl. Would recommend highly for anyone looking for a general clinic for their cats or for a dental cleaning.

My cat swallowed vinyl which got stuck under his tongue, I tried to take it out but failed so took him to hospital near my house. They asked me a thousand dollar just taking it out but this hospital offered much more affordable price. Seemed very busy but I would recommend if your friends are not in emergency statues.

My cat and Dog love Dr. Koroknai, and he is friendly.... HOWEVER it is impossible to get a hold of the staff (which seem to rotate heavily). How can a business this busy and with this many clients use one phone line? No online booking system? No email. It's an ordeal to get a hold of anyone because they are too cheap to set up an extra line and voicemail and have a dedicated staff member outside all the time. The issue is they are understaffed and in the past decade overbook too. So this summer when I had an app, I went in expecting him to be there after being told he would be there only to get a agency vet...not cool because he had left early for vacation. So when I had an emergency on labour day long weekend, again he was away and they only had the office open for people to pick up dog food. I ended up finding another vet to see my dog closer. This is how you lose customers that have been with you over 30+ years, saving money on staff who make around min wage when you have a busy practice. I don't get it, but it's one of the more disappointing things I've experienced.

I was desperate to find a good vet for my 2 year old rescue cat who has severe dental issues. After countless visits and bills to other vets around the city I was extremely let down and discouraged by the other animal hospitals. I found Bathurst-Dupont animal hospital through a friend and I am SO glad I did. Such caring and amazing staff at this animal hospital, probably the best in the city! They knew I was vulnerable with my cat's issues and they were so thoughtful and explained everything going on with him, including break downs of costs which were so affordable, i was completely shocked. They took stress off me and my cat and now I will refer everyone to come here with a pet! Thank you!!!!

I've been taking my dog here for basically his entire life, at least the last 9 years. He's had a handful of surgeries/procedures done here - and for the most part - it was fine. He has chronic health issues/on medication which require monitoring (blood work every 9 months, etc.). While the actual doctors/vets are lovely and extremely caring - the clinic itself is very poorly run. Everything is analog (no voicemail/answering machine, no website, not even call waiting); so trying to get a hold of them is near impossible. After trying to get a hold of the clinic for the last 2 WEEKS (calling every day!), I've decided to try the clinic down the street - who answered my call right away and were able to get me an appointment within 7 days (not an emergency). I'm writing this review out of frustration. I have been loyal to this vet for years, and have probably spent close to 10k+ for their services, and it's disheartening to see they have yet to improve the accessibility of the clinic. Now I have to still continue to try and get a hold of them in order to obtain my dog's records for the new Vet. For the sake of the vets themselves, I hope someone can save this clinic and work on updating their system in order to better serve their clients. In the meantime....my dog and I will be at Annex Animal Hospital.

Dr. Koroknai is by far the best vet I have ever been to!! Very caring and genuine. He doesn't try to add on unessasary fees and will not try to scam you. He loves animals and takes the time to really listen and doesn't rush through the appointment. I highly recommend this veternarian. I have been bringing my cats there for many years and have sinced moved out of the area but still take the trip even tho it is a bit far for me. Well worth it! ALSO..very fair prices!!

They also write the name(s) of your animal on a dry erase board for everyone to see when you pet is there for whatever reason...which is super cute. They genuinely care about your animal and they display a sense of urgency when necessary. As is the same with most vet offices they are very expensive, but that is to be expected.

It is one of the worst animal hospitals. I took my dying cat there they made me and my poor cat wait a hour as he laid dying, they argued about money. My poor cat went limp and the vet was trying to find a vein and when I looked at my cat's leg they were many spots they were trying to put the needle in and I told them he is already dead!! They were trying to get more money for putting him to sleep!! It was one of the worst experiences I had and I would never take any of my pets there again, because I love them too much to put them through what my other cat went through!! I had a neighbor who took her cat there and they give her cat the wrong dose of medicine and he died!! All I can say is beware!!

People there can be nice but overall, the quality of service and care was not good. They were disorganized and they seem to be short on staff for the amount of costumers they try to serve. They do not do call backs to check on how your dog is doing after receiving medicine or treatment. Everyone seems stressed and overworked. They do not use a computerized system to keep track of patients, which means they misplace patients' files. I brought my pup in to be spayed at 8am - empty stomach, no water. Surgery was not done until late afternoon!! I was so shocked that the surgery was no done in the morning. So my pup was just waiting around the whole time with an empty stomach. They gave her to me as soon as she woke up from anesthesia and of course for the next 4-5 hours the poor pup was vomiting all over the place. In the cab, at home... Often, vets try to keep the pups for a few hours after so that they can take care of them while they are really sick coming off anesthesia but not this place. Then my pup developed an infection even though I kept the cone on most of the time (including nights) and watched her like a hawk when the cone was not on. The vet blamed me for the infection saying I must have let her lick her wounds... never mind the sweltering heat and dirty Toronto streets where I had to walk her... Oh, please.

I used to to go this vet with my previous dog as I really appreciated them. I came back with my new dog and I have been extremely disappointed. I paid $420 for tests and their service but my dog has still been sick; what makes it worse is that they have been impossible to reach via phone and they have no answering machine so I cannot discuss what is happening with my animal. They do not seem to understand that I am paying for a process and not just a one time session as some medical issues are not easily resolved. Don't waste your money, go elsewhere as this business has lost its charm and professionalism over the last 15 months. ___ Update June 9 2021 (original June 2) I have always liked Dr. Koroknei, and after hearing about my concerns, he contacted me directly despite that he is on vacation. I really appreciated this display of kindness and attempt to improve communication, but I am still unable to reach the vet clinic via phone... which is apparently due to high volume of calls... meaning I cannot reach them to give updates on how my dog is doing.. Anyway, still would not recommend based on poor customer service and communication, but Dr. Koroknei is a great vet.

I've been bringing my little furry guy here for about 10 years. I recently had to say Goodbye to him, and this place helped me through it, immensely. They were supportive, patient, gave us some privacy. I never felt judged for the decision that I had to make. Dr. Koroknai and the team there have helped take good care of my furlove. They have always been professional and I so appreciate their follow-up care. The female doctor (sorry, I don't have her last name handy) was exactly the person I needed to work with, for any final moments with my dog. She always had his best interest, and suggested ways to comfort him. It was the best, most straightforward way that I could have ended my chapter with my dog. Thank you all, again, so very much.

Too many good things to say about this place. The doctor treated my terror of a cat gently and cared for her well being. I came here for a second oppinion regarding an expensive surgery my previous vet was pushing and found out it was unnecessary. It'd of been a waste of money, cause unneeded stress and pain. It's very hard to find a veterinarian in Toronto who you can trust with your fur baby, but this doctor is one!

The service is always fantastic, the staff is so kind and easy to talk to, the Doctors are thorough, thoughtful, caring and fair. I have never felt taken advantage of with their pricing, it is always cheaper than I expect, but the level of service never drops. I have recommended this Ver clinic to many of my friends. I’m so thankful for this Vet.

This is the absolute worst animal clinic in Toronto, and you should stay FAR FAR away! These people do not care about your pet, they only care about taking your money. They want you to keep paying out, and have no results to show! I've paid them a couple thousand dollars to have all kinds of testing done, to which no solution was made! My dog is still extremely sick, it is so unfair to him. Now they are refusing to accept him as a patient, and claiming the doctor is away for months. This place is a HUGE SCAM, and they don't have any compassion for the pets themselves. SHAME ON YOUR COMPANY!!!!

Great place for getting the basics done for your new, young furry friend (basics being getting its shots). Also if you cannot wait for spay/neuter programs (my male kitten at 4 1/2 months was trying to mate with my female kitten) you can get it done sooner here albeit at a more expensive price. I've been taking my dog to this clinic for the past 8 years. I can't say enough about their services that feel more like a family than a clinic. Dr. Kroknai, his wife and the staff are all very professional & personable people that take time to explain everything about the treatments, follow-up after procedures, provide post-surgery treatment (at no additional cost) and never sell or push any extra services unlike other clinics. My lab and I were very fortuned that we found this place (through a friend) and have being treated with 5 star services. I've met other pet owners at the clinic that have been there for almost 20 years! Definitely recommend!

With four cats, we've had much use of this clinic over the past several years. We've been very pleased with the service and care received. Some days, the clinic is very busy, and appointment wait times can be long. However, much as it can be an issue when trying to placate skittish cats, that's been true of every other clinic attended over several decades of caring for animals. Come to think of it, wait times have been better than any human doctor's office I've sat in, in over 60 years.

Dr. K is great... last year we had a scare and nearly lost our dog and had to be referred to VEC for emergency surgery. My family has been seeing Dr. Koroknai for decades now. He is extremely experienced, highly effective, and so sweet with our pets- I’ve never seen someone tuck a totally content cat (who they just met) under their arm and walk out of the room like it’s nothing! My biggest problem with other vets I’ve had to see in the past has been the up-selling of expensive- and sometimes really invasive- services. Dr. Koroknai has actually talked me OUT of unnecessary procedures and suggested simpler, more effective treatments. Over the course 30+ years, no one in my family has had anything less than excellent experiences with him.

They are caring and compassionate. If they aren't sure of the problem they consult other experts to be confident you're getting the best treatment, they often call the next day to see how pet is doing. Waiting times are never that long. Parking out front most of the day.

Waited 31 min past the appt time as scheduled. They should be more proficient when it comes to timing. Any time more than 10 min of wait, customers should be aware of it, it only takes communication. Booking two full assessments at he same time will throw a schedule behind for one of the two customers and for the rest of the following appts. Never encountered this issue, it was the very first time, I hope it does not occur again. Otherwise, great attention and service from all staff.

The Vet is Amazing. Me and My girlfriend has taken both our dogs there multiple times. Only reason I am giving this a 2 star is because of the staff. they are extremely rude and have terrible customer service. If it wasn't for the Vet I would have gone elsewhere but this guy knows his stuff and very nice and humble person. Dr K you need to teach your vet techs and front desk staff how to treat your patients and their parents.

The number one thing I love about this vet office is the way that they offer you options and do not push anything on you. Other vets in Toronto will try to make you feel like a piece of garbage because you cannot afford a $10k set of tests and diagnosis treatments. I liked the way they treated my cats and that they do not recommend declawing - even though they do it nonetheless. However, they overvaccinated my cats. The doc applied the core vaccines + chlamydia (!) every year! They are indoor-only cats and even the World Small Animal Veterinary Association says core vaccines should not be given any more frequently than every 3 years. Even that is probably too much. I don't want to be milked, so I won't return.

I love the owner but I went to the clinic today to see Dr. Wong (as the other vet is on holiday) about breathing issues my dog is having. She essentially told me that she doesn't know what is happening and to film it next time it happens and come back. Yet, she charged me still $65 for telling me that... I would have been happy to film and come back and pay. It seems ridiculous to charge that when the only advice is to come back again and pay.

Office staff is disorganized. One of the vets has poor bedside manner (discussed serious news about my dog with me in waiting room--people waiting stared at me while I got upset). When I moved, I requested records and all the vet sent over was illegible notes. Office did not send over blood test results, x-ray results, or ultrasound results, which I had paid a significant amount of money for. I asked the office several times for these documents and they weren't provided, so I filed a complaint.

My pet was very ill last weekend, I brought Aura in early, before the office opened to get some assistance. I explained who we were. After 5 minutes I was told we could not see the Vet. After 20+ years of loyalty, commitment and reliance on my neighborhood veterinarian I was shocked and dismayed. To be told, to go somewhere else to get help, They would not give me three minutes of their Time.. I ended up at Toronto central animal clinic, Queen and Parliament, and asked for help. Dr. Badri made time to see my puppy. We ended up in Richmond Hill having emergency surgery last Saturday Night. Today I reached out to Bathurst-Dupont to my regular vet of 20+ years again to schedule the removal of her staples. Only to be told, that they would not remove staples from a surgery that they did not perform. Wow, shame on you Bathurst Dupont Animal Hospital.

I took my dog to get his shots done at a really good price at $85. I was so happy I went here I will be definetly be coming back for the future. While the service is fine from the vet, with no website, no email, and barely a double line for the phone - I get a busy signal half the time. The hours are also brutal of you work ie: a 3 hour window on Saturday mornings for an appt, where you need to book almost 4 weeks out?!. It’s the year 2021, please attempt to operate your business like it’s in this century.

Dr. Koroknai is one of the most gentle, caring human beings I have ever encountered. His candor and demeanor immediately put both of my cats at ease. I, like many pet owners treat my animals as my own children, and as such I will only provide them with the best care I can find. I recently moved out of town, but I still make the up to four hour round trip drive just to get the piece of mind of having him taking care of some of the most important parts of my life. They are such caring people, the pricing is unbeatable (even outside of Toronto), they are one of the few places that truly, actually care about providing quality care for their patients.
