TLDR: If you're looking for a reliable vet with an amazing team, you will find that and more at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital. Dr. Singh is so good with furries and Vanessa and the rest of the team members truly care about your pets. They certainly aren't in the business to only get more business! THIS DID NOT HAPPEN AT BALMY BEACH PET HOSPITAL At my cat Velvet's annual checkup with our regular vet clinic, she was recommended to have dental surgery. We had booked her surgery and the girl had fasted through the night; however, on the day of her surgery, just as we were about to travel to the clinic, we got a cancellation call! I was appalled because the next available date that they could book us in was more than a month later. And so began my search to get Velvet the dental surgery she needed at a clinic that could schedule her in sooner and keep up with their word to take care of my little one. I called a lot of clinics. I got a lot of recommendations as well but most clinics were booked for the next month or more. Then Velvet was booked to get her surgery at a clinic in Mississauga and she fasted AGAIN. When we took her to the clinic, the vet there recommended a bunch of more tests (we had sent Velvet's bloodwork to them days before this visit), which meant Velvet didn't get her surgery yet again and she fasted in vain. By now, I was feeling so helpless. Ugh! THIS HAPPENED AT BALMY BEACH PET HOSPITAL Someone from my neighbourhood recommended Balmy Beach Pet Hospital as they had recently gotten their cats' dental surgeries done here. I called the clinic with no expectations but right from my first call with them, the kind of support that I received had me lost for words! Vanessa - the person I had my first conversation with did not rush through the call, and the patience with which she handled the call was so heartwarming (even more so after my experience with other clinics). That's not all. After having explained that I had been struggling to get Velvet in for surgery on an urgent basis, Vanessa checked with Dr. Singh and informed me that they could make time for Velvet by opening the clinic on their day off! They made time to see Velvet the same week and my kitty got her surgery the following week, with zero hassles. And the entire team extended so much support and care throughout this period. Velvet is a very sensitive little one and equally feisty! Post-surgery, she wasn't eating willingly. Dr. Singh asked us to bring her back in and demonstrated an easy-peasy way to feed her, which was such a success with Velvet! Also, when I took her back in, I was running a bit late but Dr. Singh said that she will wait there for us. *oh my heart!* Did I mention that they were trying to source some medicines for Velvet which would arrive in a day or two and because I live quite far from the clinic and don't drive, they even offered to drop the medicines off, if needed? Thankfully, we didn't trouble the team at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital for this. Anyway, to sum it up, Velvet had a successful surgery and she's healed well since then. She's eating well and is not in pain anymore. And none of that would have been possible without the wonderful support from the team here. If you're looking for a vet with a personable team that exceeds expectations - you can stop your search here. As a pawrent to multiple pets and a foster pawrent to lots of cats and dogs (over years), I have frequented a lot of animal hospitals but I have to say Balmy Beach is by far my favourite. If you want your pet to get the best care, look no further! Thank you Dr. Sukhi, Vanessa, and everyone else who helped by kitty feel better. ????????

Balmy Beach Vet is outstanding! I first went there because my geriatric cat really needed care - they had avails on a Sunday and didn't hesitate to make time for us to bring her in. They did a thorough work up and kept us updated as we waited. Dr. Yogo spoke very simply and directly so we could make good decisions and was incredibly caring. When we had to leave the cat for a few days, Nav their office manager, went above and beyond to reassure my 5-year old that they would take good care of her. Their care and sensitivity went so, so far with us during an unnerving experience. Since then we have been back a few times and the staff is always caring, patient and fully of empathy. We feel lucky we found them.

Had an awesome experience with Sukhi and her team. I booked my appointment over the phone and got in right away. I called a few other places and didn't like that I couldn't come in with my dog, so was relieved to hear this clinic let you in with your pet for the appointment. I felt super safe and everyone was wearing masks and you were only allowed in at your appointment time. Sukhi and her assistant were patient and gentle with Emma (my 10 year old rescue shih tzu), and started getting to know her and making sure she was comfortable first before examining, even giving her peanut butter on a stick while bloodwork was being done. I don't think Emma even noticed there was a needle as they took the sample from the back to minimize any fear. Sukhi was very thorough, professional, and informative. We immediately felt we could trust her judgement and her opinions, and she didn't push any treatments or products on us, just told us her recommendations and let us decide. Post appointment follow up with quick and professional. Very pleased with the experience and would highly recommend!

Balmy Beach Pet Hospital is easily the best veterinarian I have visited in the city, and provides an experience that actually puts pets and owners at the forefront. Dr. Singh is personable, extremely compassionate and only recommends what she herself would do for her pet (greatly appreciated in contrast to many vets who are predominantly working to up sell). I have seen doctor Singh both in clinic and at my home, she was wonderful, compassionate, and caring while I lost my beloved 15 year old cat to lung cancer. Honestly I've never had such a good experience losing a pet. My 18 year old cat with kidney disease is doing ever so much better under her care. I had to make an emergency appointment for my cat, but my regular vet was fully booked. They recommended I try Balmy Beach; they were fully booked too, but they said I could drop off my cat and the doctor would look at him between other appointments. They were so kind and promised me they would be sure to give my George lots of kisses and cuddles. I did usually have to call them for updates when they said they would call me, but they assured me I could call as much as I wanted and they gave me very detailed updates. Absolutely lovely people who clearly care about each and every animal!

I have been to over 5 pet hospitals over the past 8 years due to moving houses and different pets and all that fun stuff, Balmy Beach is BY FAR my favourite pet hospital. They are the most communicative, accommodating, reliable, caring, amazing team ever. They always go the extra mile to give both of my cats the best care and are so compassionate. My younger cat was terminally ill before I registered him with Dr. Singh and her team and they gladly welcomed him in and are still doing the most they can to give him a long happy life, he is now doing great (fingers crossed). I am so grateful that I was referred to this vet and have the utmost respect for the effort and care that they provide to my animals. I truly feel safe knowing that they are under the care of Dr. Singh, I recommend this pet hospital to everybody!!!!!!

Dr. Singh and her team offer compassionate care to the pets that come through their door. They have partnered with our rescue, Mattie's Place, to help save the lives of the medical cases we welcome into our rescue and offer superb over-all general medical care for our dogs and cats in need of spays/neuters, dentals and other basic care. The entire team has been a pleasure to work with and it's ear they are dedicated to their careers and the pets they are treating. I also love that they are a fear free clinic, which is an incredible relief for both pets and their people, in the way everyone is handled and cared for. Slow, steady and with the least amount of stress possible during an often stressful time at the vet.

I have a large dog (~100 lbs) who is very anxious at the vet. His regular vet was out of town and he had a broken nail that needed treatment. Balmy Beach Pet Hospital squeezed him into their very busy schedule, gave him time to adjust to the new surroundings and people, treated him with respect and kindness, despite his white coat phobia leading to some aggressive behaviour, and fixed him right up. I was so anxious taking him to a clinic because of how strong he is, but the doctors and assistants were compassionate and as strong as he was. I would highly recommend Dr. Sayaka Yogo and the rest of the team at Balmy Beach!

Dr. Sukhi takes the time to explain everything she is doing and address any and all questions/concerns, and I was very impressed with how Nav comforted my senior cat during her exam. Their friendly clinic cat is always a treat as well. We immensely appreciate the clinic being open during this time and will definitely continue taking our cats here!

I first phoned to see how much it would cost to trim my dogs nails, they said it would be $25, which I guess is the standard now. I told them my dog was difficult with nail trimming and would need a muzzle, they said not a problem. I dropped off my dog, and picked him up 20 min later. When I picked him up, they told me he was difficult (no kidding) and that they needed 3 people to hold him. Right after, they told me it would cost another $10 because they needed an extra pair of hands. No other service I can think of charges extra for needed help. Anyway, I told them I wasn't warned before hand about it potentially costing another $10 with difficult cases. They just shrugged it off and handed me the machine to tap. The total came up to $39.55!!! Are you kidding me?!! Almost $40 to trim a dogs nails!!! Will never go back,...talk about highway robbery.

The best animal hospital in the East End! Incredibly kind and compassionate, genuinely care deeply about animals and their prices are fair. Dr Singh dropped her own personal plans when she heard my dog had an infection and immediately opened up her availability for me to come in asap - whereas our regular vet called me back 3 weeks LATER to say they had availability. I cannot recommend Balmy Beach enough, I love them, my dog loves them, they love my dog, it's a win win all around!

My partner and I had to take our dog, Diego to a clinic right away. The problem was that we were unable to find any Veterinary Clinic that was open on a Sunday! Balmy Beach Pet Hospital was the only one that was able to take us in and to do so within an hour from our call. Even the Emergency Hospital was unable to see us, as they had a waiting period of over 5 or 6 hours or more! At Balmy Beach, the receptionist was friendly and quick to take us in. The vet was just as friendly and prepare to treat Diego as soon as she saw us. We were truly impressed by the quality of the service and how quick and reliable the people have been. We would not hesitate to take Diego to this facility at any other time.

Exceptional service and care! My cat had to have an emergency visit and the entire team was warm and caring. I always felt he was being provided the best care and love while with them. My cat appeared calm with anyone and never expressed fear (despite some less than desirable procedures). Having moved around a lot over the past few years, I've had the opportunity to meet several vets and Dr. Sukhi is definitely a keeper. From the moment I walked in I sensed that this is a welcoming and relaxing space, which was an especially refreshing experience and not your typical pet hospital setting. My pup is not usually the most relaxed in these situations but he responded so well to Dr Sukhi and Nav. What stood out to me the most about this pet hospital was how transparent they treated us. We had the ability to see all the testing that's usually done behind closed doors and Dr Sukhi was so patient and thorough at explaining everything and answering all my questions. We will definitely be returning and I'm glad that Mylo has found his new forever doctor! Highly recommend!

This clinic reminded us of our previous vet at King Hopkins in Whitby as they are clean, bright, and display a professional cat-side manner. Recently took our pup Cornell to see Dr. Sukhi and her team at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital for an emergency call. Our little guy was having an upset stomach and her and her assistant were extremely accommodating and kind. We are not patients (yet!) at the clinic but Dr. Sukhi treated us as if we had been going there for years. Cornell had to have an x-ray and a few shots which he definitely was not used to but because of the open concept floor plan of the treatment room I was able to be there with him to ensure that he was calm and well behaved. It gave me a lot of peace of mind being able to see exactly what was going on behind the scenes and as a new dog parent many of my anxieties were subsided. Overall the team at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital went above and beyond for me and my little guy!

Good things come from not so good things. This weekend my 4 yr old dog was having an allergic reaction to a wasp sting. My own vet offered me an appointment 2 weeks out. What?..... I had the best experience at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital this week! I brought my foster pup here to see a vet for the first time. The staff were so kind and gentle with her, you can tell they love animals very much and treat them really well. They had safe Covid measures in place and they were professional and communicative. They gave her everything she needs for her first vet visit, and explained all of the preventative medications she will be on too (for fleas/ticks and other parasites). They talked to me about her weight and plans for her training. It couldn't have been smoother and everyone was so informative. I feel well equipped to care for this new pup and will definitely be back to Balmy Beach with my other pets too! Thank you for your help and love!

Finding Dr.Singh was an absolute blessing. Our senior dog has serious health issues and on Sunday, I felt she needed to be seen. Dr.Singh saw her right away. I found a lump on my dog, late one Monday night after a few nights of irregular bowel movements. As a first time pet owner, I panicked and looked online for my options, as I was new to the neighbourhood. Balmy Beach Pet Hospital’s reviews stood out above the rest and I sent a frantic email, not realizing they were closed on the following day (Tuesdays). Dr. Singh replied to my email that night! She was going to be at the office anyway to feed and check in on their office cat, Nelson and said I could stop by. I called when I arrived and she answered the door in her mask and conducted the check-up on her own (with minimal assistance from me as the rest of her team was off). She was gentle, kind, compassionate and incredibly informative. My dog loves her and Nelson - and so do I. I would highly recommend her! She took the time to help me understand what could be a concern, what to look out for and provided me with helpful dog health tips. Most importantly, she brought me much needed relief and assurance that my pet was healthy and would be fine with proper care moving forward. Dr Sukhi is a wonderful vet who truly cares about her fur and human clients. We are lucky to have found her. I have a rescue German Sheppard mix who is very fearful and aggressive with strangers but Dr Sukhi was able to look after him. Dr Sukhi always follow up after each visit to ensure that my dog is doing well after a procedure or check up. She also provides very useful and practical information to care for your pet. In addition, her vet clinic is very modern, clean and well equip to look after any emergency situation. She also perform home visit if needed. We are truly blessed to have found her! Refreshing finally to find a vet with a caring concerned heart number one and the rest is all secondary. They humbly sacrifice to make the time for pet owners even holidays and Sunday to accomodate. Like the good old fashion doctor. Took time to explain in detail and open for follow ups. I was able to administer insulin and given proper perimeters to go by. The doctor and her sister are incredibly servicing. Gave the best advice over the other vets and would return emergency calls within minutes to assist of any questions etc. So grateful to have finally found a REAL Vet who cares about animals first hand and money secondary. They also dont "milk" the client which seems to be the trend with most vets. Not 'cash cows' which is a relief and are reasonable as well. Would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner who would want to have their pets in good hands.

After seeing multiple vets Balmy Beach was highly recommended by my friend's vet who wasn't taking on more clients due to covid. I cannot express how happy I am that this recommendation was made! The best veterinary clinic i have been to in years. I'd needed care for my dog and was given an appointment that afternoon. Dr Sayaka Yogo is THE BEST!! First off she is a great listener. i was able to explain what was wrong with my dog and and she asked a lot of questions, very thorough! When the xrays were done she brought out her mobile and went over the images with me. I've not had that experience before. Understanding that cost is an issue for me she gave me multiple options and didn't try to "upsell" me in any way. The last vet I went to I'd spent $750 on tests and didn't get a clear answer or reason for what was going on. I'm thrilled with my multiple experiences here and won't go anywhere else. Thank you again Dr Yogo for being so understanding and helpful and making this such a warm and caring experience!

I went to this very wonderful Dr Singh on a recommendation from a friend, and I've continued going back for my dog's needs. Almost all the times I've brought my dog in has been urgent and they have had no trouble finding me appointments even last minute. I've been seen by three different doctors - mainly because most of my appointments have been last minute. They are patient,very kind knowledgeable, and make me feel comfortable discussing my dog's needs or asking any questions I might have. Overall I have had a great, positive experience even when I've had last-minute needs.Keep up the good work.It is a blessing having such a wonderful dr and her tech Nav is a GEM.

We had an unexpected Sunday emergency and Balmy Beach Pet Hospital stayed open late to see us and went above and beyond to make us feel informed and in good hands. They provided us with both basic and advanced options for testing and treatment and were thorough in their assessment of our dog. The facility is technically advanced with full onsite medical equipment like ultrasound, X-ray, blood and urine testing all done right then and there. They also were able to supply all the medication we required. For the amount of testing done they were very efficient and for the work and medication required I found them very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend to anyone in need of a reliable vet hospital. Happy to know they do routine veterinary services too, not just emergencies.

Dr Singh and Nav have helped me out coming to the house during COVID , very professional and kind , especially to my poor little Olivia who gets so upset going to the vets office. They came to the house to give the vaccinations and exams for both cats ( Olivia and Molly). Olivia is still very scared but so much better than having to bring her in, she is fine now and happy. Suki also was able to help diagnose and treat when Olivia hurt her left leg a few months ago and she is happy and playing. So nice to have the team come to my house, so appreciative, professional and very caring. She gave the 3 needles to each cat and they did not even flinch! amazing. I had called what must have been 20 vet and emergency clinics trying to book her a last minute appointment because she was experiencing symptoms I had thought was parvo. Luckily Balmy Beach was able to book her for an hour later! I had already taken my puppy in for these symptoms the day before to my regular vet but she seemed to be getting worse. Dr. Singh was helpful by doing the necessary tests and also taught me how to properly give pills (which my vet did not do for both). Going here made me realize that I want to switch vets to one that is more caring and knowledgeable. If I lived closer to the Beaches, I would make this clinic my vet.

My dog was diagnosed with leukemia 2 months ago. Overnight Rufus rapidly deteriorated and it was a Saturday, a very difficult day to find a vet with an open spot available. My regular vet is not open on Saturdays therefore I needed to find a vet that could put my baby to sleep. I called around to numerous vets, one who would take Rufus but due to Covid they were not going to allow me to be with him while they medicated and catharitized him. Rufus, under normal circumstances is an anxious dog. I did not want him to be alone at any stage. He had given me too much love and affection. I could not let him down. By the time I reached out to Balmy Beach Hospital I had all but given up hope. Not only did they agree to help me but they were able to do a home visit! This was more than I could have hoped for. They recommended that I come to their office to pick up medication to ease the pain and anxiety for Rufus pending their arrival to my home. From the moment Dr Singh and her assistant arrived at my home their only concern was for the well being of Rufus and my family. They were gentle, kind, patient and loving with Rufus. Letting go of a beloved pet is never easy but Dr Singh and her team made the process so much easier. My baby Rufus passed away in the arms of his Mommy, relaxed and eating treats with the entire family present. I will be forever grateful to the Team at Balmy Beach Pet Hospital. I would highly recommend them for their kindness, experience and wholly compassionate approach

Unbelievable sister team (Dr. Singh &Nav) with true compassion for both your pet and you..a few weeks ago I brought my geriatric cat Lola in with a gastric and respiratory emergency..she was immediately made a priority - assessed, diagnosed, and stabilized. I was made to feel part of the team and allowed to stay and stand by..since that time Dr. Singh has made 3 visits to my home to check on my precious cat and to deliver medications that were needed..these visits were greatly appreciated. Sadly I need to update my review, as when we went in for annual check up and vaccines we had a terrible experience. They asked if we wanted the Lyme vaccine, as the dogs are on tick medication already I asked the price and was quoted $35.00, I said okay. When we picked up the dogs we were told a booster was required, I assumed that was included and said so. I was told no it's another $35.00. Reluctantly I agreed, and made the appointment. After the booster I was presented with a bill for $90.00 + tax per dog. I was shocked and when I questioned it, the person I spoke to was unapologetic and said well we had to do a recheck. The dogs had been seen a month before, I have NEVER had a vet do this before. The fee was $90.00 more than originally quoted! I emailed my serious concerns about the lack of transparency in billing and was given $32.50 per dog in a refund, not satisfactory. I know of one other person who has experienced the same problem with Balmy Beach and being charged more than quoted. I now cannot recommend them in any way as I feel really misled and overcharged! Had a minor emergency, was seen immediately. Price was super fair. The vet and her staff are amazing and very warm with the animals, also lovely with me. Would highly recommend Balmy Beach Pet Hospital!

I have never been more impressed with a vet! Balmy Beach Pet Hospital took my dog in an emergency situation even though she wasn't a regular client. They were amazingly prompt and communicative throughout my entire experience. They even contacted me a few days after her treatment to check in about her progress and how the medications were going. I am so blown away with the service and standard of care that they provided, that I'm in the midst of transferring my dog's files to their office. I am so happy that I found a vet that puts my dog's health before billing, logistics, and their bottom line. I would 10/10 recommend them to any pet owner!

I am extremely grateful I found Balmy Beach Pet Hospital. Dr. Singh and her wonderful staff took real good care of my 16 year old dog Rocky. He needed dental surgery after his teeth became really bad over the years. The procedure needed to be done with precision and needed to be executed to perfection because of how bad it had got. Dr. Singh and her team did just that. I was extremely nervous during the weeks leading up to the surgery and if it wasn't for dedicated people at the hospital, I don't know how I would have got through each day. With experiences of similar situations as Rocky, they assured me every time I spoke to them that he would be okay. I am beyond excited for Rocky as he is doing very well and recovering quite fast. They recommended medication and antibiotics that would make Rocky's recovery much more tolerable. I cannot stress how amazing and dedicated the people at this hospital are. I will be bringing Rocky here permanently without a doubt in the future, and if you love your pet as much as I do, I recommend you do the same.

They listen to every concern and go out of their way to make sure Kobe is comfortable as he is a senior dog with muscle atrophy who slips and also make sure I’m comfortable in learning how to give him the injection medication he needs. I have to recommend Dr Sukhi Singh for her knowledge and expertise when it comes to dealing with our cat's urgent care. My experience with Dr. Sukhi was somehow a pure luck. On January, 26, 2019, we had an emergency with my cat and took him to another Vet. Long story short, they couldn't figured out my cat's problem and they advised us to have him stay for 2 days in their care. After a relentless diagnostic and testing, i was told that they couldn't continue caring for my cat.They gave us a choice to have him euthanized and end his suffering. However, just by chance, i called my sister for a second opinion and she recommended Dr. Sukhi. I spoke to Dr Sukhi and she requested to speak to the Vet that was caring after my cat. Dr Sukhi then, told me to transfer my cat to her clinic. On that very day, she stabilized and saved my cat from being euthanized. Dr Sukhi even called us off hours and provided us an update of their diagnostic. We were so grateful to have Dr. Sukhi, without her prompt advice and professionalism, we would have lost our very first cat that day.

The staff here at balmy Beach are incredible they go above and beyond to look after your pet and they make it affordable! I just brought my six month old kitten in and couldn’t afford the price so I paid some of it before I left and I get to pay the rest at another time they are the only reason that my cat is still alive thank you so much to the staff I will not be going anywhere else for any other pet needs I’m truly so grateful for everyone there!
