Dr. Jim Wilson and his staff (Janie) are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They themselves are animal lovers and it shows. Before I met my wife of 21+ years she had 2 cats and was going to the McCowan Animal Clinic. We have been bringing our cats and dogs to them ever since. Dr. Wilson is easy to talk to and will take the time to answer any question you ask about your pets health. We have never felt rushed, even when I know he's busy. My wife and I highly recommend the McCowan Animal clinic to anyone who has a dog or cat.

Dr. Wilson is a wonderful, knowledgeable and caring vet. I had him on speed dial when 2 of my dogs were quite elderly. He didn't mind returning my calls and answering my questions. When my Ginger died one weekend (15 years young) and we took her into the emergency clinic off Ellesmere as he was closed. I called the clinic on the Monday morning to give them the sad news and he came to the phone right away. I could tell by his voice he was upset too, but it did help just having him. He gets to know his clients and what they want and are comfortable with. The support staff are very good too. This is just as important as I've seen too many that are not very good at other clinics before I found Dr. Wilson.

Dr. Wilson truly cares for each dog he looks after, professional, and quick. He is thorough and always looks out for your pet’s best interest. You can really tell he loves his line of work and cares for each individual dog. Janie also is simply amazing, warm, and compassionate for each animal that walks through that door. When my dog of 11 years suddenly passed away, Dr. Wilson and Janie were so genuine and kind-hearted to call me the morning after and give comfort. Just in this simple act, you can really see how much they pour into the dogs and their owners. Thank you Dr. Wilson and Janie, for caring for Hazel, Jayden, Shiloh, and now Kiko. When I think of the people that make Scarborough feel like home, I always think of the lovely folks at McCowan Animal Clinic.

We took our baby kitten and our sick cat for a first visit today. The Dr. was super busy after a long weekend but allowed us to come and he worked late to give us a chance to see him. Just like the reviews we read, the Dr. and his staff are really caring. The Dr. was really good with our cats and they didn't even know they received shots today. The Dr. gave us all treatment options, explained what was most beneficial for the cats and didn't recommend anything unnecessary. We had a really positive experience and we are so happy to have found this Animal Clinic. The prices are also very reasonable which is an additional bonus. ????

Dr. Wilson and staff are simply awesome. I've got three cats and whenever I call for an appointment for one of them, Jane - the receptionist - always inquires about my other two cats by name! My appointments are always on time as scheduled even though Dr. Wilson never makes any of his patients feel rushed. I tend to ask a lot of questions and like to get all the details in writing so I can keep good records on my 'babies'. And if I ever have any more questions after my time is up, Jane is a fountain of information and advice. Dr. Wilson is also very conservative with his fees. My kitten recently had some issues with his eyes and after the initial treatment of 10 days for the infection, he still had some redness. Dr. Wilson did not charge me for the revisit; only for the new medication for my little guy. Within another week, the redness had completely cleared up. Over the past 30 years I've had several other vets as I've lived in other locations. I have to say that Dr. Wilson and his staff are BY FAR the best vet clinic I have ever experienced. They always make me feel as though they care about my cats as much as I do! That's pretty special!

Dr. Wilson and Janine are the best. I got a kitten suddenly and I had no idea how to take care of her. We took her to the clinic and Dr. Wilson explained everything and told us she had an eye infection and cold. He was honest and very caring. Janine was amazing as she went above and beyond recommending the correct food and milk for the kitten and being truly honest about insurance. I have never met such amazing people who truly care about the animals as well as the owners. Also, the prices are very reasonable compared to other vets. I'm so glad I came across this doctor and my little ocean will be in great hands with this team. If there were a higher star I would without missing a heart beat give. They are simply God given best when it comes to vet. I can't emphasize that.

Dr. Wilson at McCowan Animal Clinic is literally the best vet in Toronto! I'd been to or working at some other clinics over the past decades either for my pets or persuading my animal physiology studies. By far Animal Clinic is the only place that I found trustworthy and give me the reason to continue my studies to become a vet like Dr. Wilson. Dr. Wilson and his wife truly love and care those animals from the deepest of their hearts! They gave us honest and straightforward advises! They took in our sick cat Momo at almost the end of day with just a call and directly treated him with proper medicines without those unnecessarily examinations! I knew that everything he did to my cat at that time was solely for saving and helping him to survive and to feel better! He didnt even charge me for the follow up visit! My cat became healthy and happy again after a week of his treatments! This was not the first time to treat my cat the first time was 8 years ago when my cat was still a kitten he became very sick Dr.Wilson treated him with only $50. I am so grateful to get to know this knowledgeable, kind, and faithful animal doctor in my life! Best wishes to you and your family!

Dr Wilson and his sister in law helped me so much as my sweet dog “ Madge “, was ill. He fitted me in during a pandemic when he can just see one client , we were his last appointment of a very long day. We had x rays taken and discovered the fatal cancer . My son and I put our dog to sleep with their love patience and care , they never once rushed anything and were so compassionate. My high regards for this duet of human kindness will never be forgotten . Mr Wilson and his sweet sister in law made a traumatic experience beautiful for my teen son who said good bye to the sibling animal he grew up with . We are not ready for another dog but we will and when we do he will be our forever vet , his fees are beyond reasonable but their honesty of the care is outstanding, much love Caroline and Callum . The clinic refused to make an appointment for our elderly rescue cat for a wellness check as the vet only accepts “puppies and kittens” as new patients. What’s the point of having an animal clinic if you are going to only see perfectly healthy and young animals? Absolutely disappointing given the other reviews I read about this clinic being so loving of animals.

Dr. Wilson and Janie are the greatest. My Izzy's treatments and solid advice made her last few months a little easier, for both myself and my cat. I originally sought out a new vet when the cost of bi-monthly visits and managing my cat's kidney failure became too much. I immediately reduced my cost by a third to one half of what I would've spent elsewhere... With a barebones staff, often just Dr. Wilson, Janie and a part time receptionist, you're not paying for a whole team of doctors and techs that you never see. What you do get is personal service. Now with Izzy gone, I'm just waiting for my new fur friend which I will be adopting from Janie. ...and don't forget to give generously anytime you visit, as Janie accepts donations to help her manage two feral colonies. She and Dr. Wilson are all about the cats (and dogs). I wish there were more vetinary clinics like this one.
