I was recommended here by a mobile vet tech service and I was so happy to find Dr. Singh and the staff so accommodating. I have seen many vets who the first thing out of their mouth is "we need blood tests or other very expensive tests" without even looking at my pet... which run in the hundreds.. Dr. Singh was very thorough and listened to me very well .. he recommended some treatment options and didn't try to force my judgement . .he even found really bad arthritis in my dogs hip and my last vet .. who I saw for over 7 years.. NEVER even mentioned it and they had done many xrays over the years. Dr. Singh gave me some pain killer and maintenance for her to make it easier ... my poor baby was needlessly suffering for no good reason ... its very apparent by the charges on the invoice that Dr. Singh and his staff care more about his furry patients than he does getting rich ... I was so pleasantly surprised by the bill .. Definitely make Birch Dan Animal Hospital your first choice for a vet and you can't go wrong .. :)

When I first moved here 7 years ago I loved this vet compared to the last clinic my cats were at. However, as time passed I found "miscommunications" which cost money to be more and more frequent. After a number of years of this pattern, I wised up and compared quotes only to learn I was being gouged. I found the staff to be kind and compassionate, but the vet gives misleading information. Your animal will be well cared for, but you may find yourself confused about the process and overcharged.

My family and I have been dealing with the Birch Dan Animal Hosp for so many years i couldn't tell you exactly how long and we have never ever had any type of problems with them. The front office staff are exelent friendly and courteous and the Dr's normally know what's wrong with the dog/cat before they even X-ray or examine the animal. Its amazing when you say to your pet" Do you wanna go and see the vet ?) And they are at the door jumping around to get out to the car.

great place my cat has a weepy eye ,and it may be stress , or just allergies, but they did help him , we take him ,once a yr, he takes lysine he likes it because it sweet nutritious supplement, and eye drops but he is ok now , hopefully it goes away , we think it may be herpes,but we do not know , but he is happy and healthy , but they do a splendid of looking after our pets, I was worried about tobey but go to them they will help your pets , and close by they took care of my other cat who had a dental issue as well 13 yrs been going , i trust them, I don,t have a lot of money but I spend more on my cat than I do on me our pets are like family and we have to take care of them thank you Dr Singh ????????????????????????????????????????

My first experience in Birch Dan was excellent. I just got my little puppy and needed to be seen for his first check up and vaccinations. It was easy to get an appointment. Everybody was super friendly and happy to answer all my questions. I'm glad I found a great vet clinic.

As a first pet owner, Birch Dan animal hospital made me feel so welcomed and safe. Dr. Singh was always very clear and concise. Maria was also so helpful & kind which helped with my nerves! I highly recommend them because they treated my puppy CoCo like their own and took such good care of her. I brought her in for her first check, to get spayed and for a vaccination. They provided a laser surgery (highly recommend), micro chipping & medication all in one day. I was expecting CoCo to be out of commission for a few days, but she was back to her rambunctious self in 24hours! Thank you for everything!!

WORST VET I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!! About a year ago my dog was diagnosed with the parvo virus. He was just laying around and I was scared my dog had something wrong with him. We took him to Birch-Dan since it was the closet vet around. we had test done on him and he stayed over night. THIS VET TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO DO A PARVO TEST ON HIM BECASE THEY SAID "its to expensive and its unlikely he has the parvo virus". Whne we picked him up in the morning he was playful for about an hour or two, and the rest of the day he was lethargic and was just laying their looking life less. He was vomiting and had diarrhea. Me and my family were devastated and crying. In the morning we took him to the emergency vet. Thats when we found out he had the parvovirus. He stayed over night there and we took him to there other sister emergency vet employes located downtown Toronto. All the 's that worked there cared so much for my dog. He was in there for about a week. He survived and we were all so happy and he was only at the age of about eight or nine weeks old. I don't recommend going to birch-dan animal clinic.

I have been going to Birchdan for just under five years. I've appreciated how kind and caring they are. This year I have run into problems with their billing services. They tried charging me twice for the same services, with two different prices. One was for $26 and the other for $53. I pointed it out and they refunded the higher priced one, no problem. I inquired about a list of prices for all of there services and they told me that the vet is supposed to tell me what the fees are before doing anything. The vet has walked in listened to my pets heart for 5 seconds and walked out without asking permission or telling me anything. This cost me $55 and the only justification I heard was that they have to assess how the pet is doing after getting new vaccinations. The problem was that this was a return visit a week later, no need to assess heart rates. I'm sorry Birchdan, I will be switching vets.

Took my little Leo there this morning because of tummy issues over the Christmas weekend. The staff were awesome with my little guy, thankfully it was just bad gas and nothing serious. Leo is a rescue and not fond of strangers but he was perfectly fine with all the staff which instantly helped me feel at ease. Prices are reasonable, everything was explained very well and all my questions were answered. Thanks everyone from Leo and mum. :)

Very bad doctor I have been going there for more then 10 years and my dog had baby and the baby had ball in his tummy he never checked the baby good at all last week I took him to get his vaccine and he told me that he’s having heart problem, but he did not recommend any medication and he gave 3 shot to my baby after 2 days my baby passed away. I am so mad at him all he wants to make money and not doing his job good at all now I have the parents and the baby is gone so sad

We bring our dog to Birch Dan. The whole staff are friendly, and make you feel welcomed. I cannot even begin to mention how many times, I've had them on the phone answering my million and one questions! They have always been patient with me and never made me feel rushed. Both Dr. Singh and Dr. Goran I believe it is are wonderful to work with. They are knowledgeable and always very helpful in answering all my questions. Dr. Singh spayed our puppy and did an amazing job. Her recovery was quick and the scarring was minimal. One of the ladies from there had also given a follow up call to us to make sure our puppy was doing ok and to see if we had any questions. We had an issue where our puppy had contracted a parasite-giardia-and the response from both vets was quick and spot on with what she needed to be prescribed. I think that Birch Dan is very reasonably priced in comparing with other vets. I've also never had either vet try to push products on us or add services that were unnecessary. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and overall great to work with. Very happy with their services and their staff! p.s. They got rid of the horrid secretary they had some years ago...all the staff now are PHENOMENAL!!

After having a telephone conversation with the receptionist, I don't think I'll ever come here again. do not take your cats here. I don't think they know much about cat health. after many visits, the male vet (owner) kept assuming that my cats had a food allergy issue. after changing their diets according to their recommendations, they were still having issues. he said and implied that it could be my house being dirty or filthy (really...?? I have cleaned my house so often every since my cats started vomiting). after several years of one of my cat being in the same and poor condition, i switched to Dundas West animal hospital. They diagnosed my cat with pancreatitis... i gave him the necessary medication to stabilize my cat and afterwards, he was able to eat pretty much whatever i gave him. i am writing this review not because of the Vet's lack of knowledge in cat health, but because of their awful, rude, condescending RECEPTIONIST/OFFICE ADMIN. Specifically, the dark skinned girl with curly hair who sounds like a squeaky doll. I am very sorry, but every time I call and she picks up, I clinch. Whenever I ask her questions, her response is for me to go to the clinic to check the product. Excuse me, but if I wanted to do that, I would go travel to your place of work and check it myself, but because you are already there, why don't you check it for me??? If I have a relevant question about a product that they sell at the clinic, it is unprofessional and brings great disservice to not provide me this information if she is literally a 2 second walk to check the product. This is called CUSTOMER SERVICE. When she called me to remind me of an annual vaccination/rabies shot, I was trying to explain to her about my schedule and she immediately hung up on me. further, when i got pet insurance and asked her to kindly set up a system so that i can process the insurance forms via email, she was RESISTANT and it took me several follow-ups to get her to respond with the vet's signature on the forms. She even tried to make an excuse that she cannot scan the forms because the machine is old or doesn't work properly (by the way, I have the same machine). What kind of an excuse is that?? when she somehow miraculously scanned and sent me the signed forms, they were completely fine and acceptable by the pet insurance company. I don't know what she is yammering about. They didn't replace the machine because the same machine is still there and it functions. Essentially, customer service is so bad I moved vets because of HER. At Dundas West Animal Hospital, I asked a question about a product and the receptionist actually walked into the back and checked the product. They took the extra step to help me. They are more expensive and further away, but I think they are worth the excellent service. When I asked about setting up the processing of pet insurance forms via email, they immediately provided me with the form, asked for my signature and kept it on file so they can process it every time I request for it. They are also very prompt and responsive to my emails.

They've treated me and my dogs like family, and they were always super attentive and helpful. Their in-house grooming is also great. An artist in her own right. They let me pay for what I wanted and didn't push extra features on me (they asked if I wanted, but didn't make me feel weird about saying no). Been coming here for almost 11 yrs. Attentive in the begining but over the years noticed a big declin in the clinic. They are more about the money than the caring of the animal. My dog went to the emergency hosptial & we were told the report would go to my vet. Vet didn't even call me to follow-up, I had to call, but they were quick to say they had after hours emergency care. They didn't care enough to call to find out how my dog was doing but were quick to say I should bring my dog to them for after hours emergencies. A Month later I called Dr. Singh's emergency number TWICE telling them it was urgent and I believed my dog was dying. No call back to this day, so I took him to the emergency hosptial, sadly my dog died by the time we got to hospital. I'm digusted that NOBODY even bothered to call us back from Dr. Singh's office to find out what happened. Very unprofessional & empathetic. Conclusion they were always just about the money. I will NEVER go back & DO NOT recommend this clinc!

Thought they would be a good place as there close to home and have been there for quite sometime but they are rip offs. Had my dog examed and they missed his anal gland during the exam which petsmart found a week later took him back payed 30 dollars to have them drained should have been found by the vet not a groomer. Secondly we were told he had to come back for a booster shot a month later cause he got a new shot not a problem how ever i go in to do his shot and get charged another exam for what they missed stuff the first. When i inquired about the exam charge they say its law anytime to exam anytime they see him. Well my old vet never charger to do another exam so he could get a bosster. I get its a bussiness but this is just ripping the customers off.. will not return to this vet. They dont even deserve 1 star.

This is a criminal establishment. They are crooked and they take you for a ride with a total disregard of the well being of your pet. Had several unnecessary tests done as well as fake answers: was told I would receive the lab results the next day in the morning - no report or call from clinic as promised, called several times and still could not give me a answer. Was not truthful. Put my dog through pain for no reason even though he promised faster results if he did "both routes". Beated around the bush with his story claiming he "never said that" "I told you that" changed his story several times each time I called and also tried to change the topic. Was given results for a test I didn't even ask for and that had nothing to do with why I brought my dog in in the first place. Was told I had to pay more money if I wanted the result of the test. Spoke over the phone, ended up going in speaking face to face and demanding a refund. They are crooks who don't know a damn thing and try to make you look like an idiot! It makes me furious to give them a one star rating when they DESERVE ZERO!

About 9 years ago, when I was an irresponsible 20 year old, I adopted a dog that I could not afford! Shortly after I got her, she began suffering from an impacted anal gland. I googled the nearest vet, which happened to be Birch Dan Animal Hospital. I called and they took me right away. The estimate for the urgent surgery to save her gland was more money than I had. Dr Singh did the surgery anyways and took a chance and trusted me to pay them back in installments. He could have easily turned me away, but helping my dog was his priority. All these years later, I still take my same dog to Dr Singh. I always have a consistently positive experience at this clinic!

We recently got a new puppy, and I am a first time dog owner. I went to Birch-Dan Animal Hospital, and we obviously had a ton of questions. The staff and doctors were very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time with us, answered all our questions and really took their time to explain. We felt comfortable with them and their approach to our little boy. He has gone in several times now for his vaccines and also got neutered. Each experience has been nothing but positive. Every time, we are greeted with a smile, and the doctors are very compassionate and caring. I had called around several clinics for prices before choosing Birch-Dan, and I found that their prices are competitive. Also, I think you get what you pay for. The quality of services I received for my little pooch at Birch-Dan was well worth it. One weekend, our puppy got into some trouble with vomiting and diarrhea, and we started to panic, since he is so little and we worried about him getting dehydrated. We called Birch-Dan, without realizing that they were probably closed. However to my surprise and relief, the vet answered the phone, and I was able to have him looked at right away and he was fine. I was so thankful that I didn't end up having to take him to an emergency hospital. The fact that they are available after hours is a big bonus. Highly recommended.

If I were writing this review 4 or so years ago I would have given it a 5 stars. The vets are helpful and informative and Cecille was a pleasure to deal with. Within the last 2 years I kept seeing less of Cecille and more of a new vet tech (not mentioning any names). At first she was fine, not very friendly but not rude either. I come in at least once a month to buy dog food and more if my dog needs to see the vet. Every time I would come in and no one else was at the front with her she would be so rude. To define rude, her tone was condescending, she always seemed like she needed to be somewhere else and she never looked my direction when talking - always at her computer or down at a paper. I thought I was coming on bad days so I never though to complain. I brought it up with 3 of my friends who take their pets there and they all had the same reaction. She was rude to them too so it wasn't just me. I liked the vets there so I continued to go in but just with a thicker skin knowing she was just always rude. Anyways, this one day my dog had something wrong with his paw so it was a day of appointment. They needed to take him to the back and I told her I would be back because I left something in the car. I didn't end up leaving cause I realized I had it so I sat in the waiting room. I could hear this girl yelling at my dog and I KNOW it was her because she has a very distinct voices I was furious but I'm not the confrontational type and I knew the vet was back there with her. When my dog came back out he was shaking. Since that day, we never went back. Every time we walked into the office my dog would whine and scratch me so we could leave. I thought it was because he remembers what happens at the vet (shots, dental cleaning) but at our new vet he has had all the same procedures done and he happily goes in and stays. I would consider going back, like I said the vets did nothing wrong and the other staff that I interacted were very friendly and helpful. It's very unfortunate that this one person is ruining this place.

My dog had got kennel cough and our vet was closed. I called so many vets and no one would take us in. This is the only vet that took us in on such short notice. We were really impressed by the doctor and the receptionist! Both were friendly and straight to the point. Would def recommend! I am going to switch over here for our vet visits from now on.

Since 2011 I have always had a very iffy feeling about this clinic, I have brought many of my pets here and have always had a hard time.n There is no compassion . Please, take a moment to read this - the Vet, Mr. Singh looks at your pet like a dollar sign. Lets be honest, can you trust someone who CANNOT MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH YOU? Seriously, he talks to you with his eyes closed. I had one of the worst experiences there yesterday. My dog was bit by another dog and required some stitches under her mouth. Mr. Singh comes into the room, takes a look at her - but because she is small and fidgety, she wouldn't let him take a look at the wound. He then said he would need to sedate her to take a look, likely needs to be 'closed up'. He then proceeded to bring me the bill which was just over $900. I immediately giggled and said what on earth are you charging me for? He responds 'well this is your dog, its up to you, what were you expecting to pay?!' I said well tell me what this is for but around five hundred bucks :/.. He walks out of the room, comes back in a moment later and has $550 written with a pen on the same paper. I ask - so can you explain what you're charging me for and how can you now come back with an amount $350 lower. He started to give me attitude and continued to say 'LADY I'M trying to help you'. I said no - this is not help, I come into this clinic expecting honesty, you have my dog, my daughter, in your care and all you're worried about is making some money. Help is when you have the wellness of my dog on your mind. Keep in mind he had already taken my dog to the back without me having signed consent - he DID NOT sedate her as he tried to take a better look and I heard her crying in the back. He proceeded to say then just take your dog somewhere else. Which is exactly what I did. Inhumane. Hes a coward and his attitude is disgusting.

I can't compliment this facility enough. Doctor Singh and his staff saved our cats (Finn's)life. Our 8 month old cat managed to eat a piece of exercise mat. It became lodged in his intestine and he would have died. Dr Singh removed it surgically and while we had gotten big prices to do the surgery from other hospitals Dr Singh's was reasonable and follow up care was excellent. On behalf of Finn and my other 2 (human) kids thanks from the bottom of our hearts!

Managed to create a diagnosis for my cat without hearing her symptoms, etc. I can literally outline our conversation in the word count allotted here: Vet: “what are we here for today?” Me: “I think my cat needs her teeth checked” Vet: okay sounds good we will do everything in the back you can just wait here” I didn’t get to mention she hasn’t been eating properly for 3 days, has been rejecting treats which is NOT like her, and has been generally lethargic. When I tried to bring all this up when he brought her out he looked at me like I had offended him, repeated what he had just told me which was a mediocre roundabout way of saying she’s fine which I KNOW she’s not. Needless to say I was eager for a second opinion. Called Fallingbrook animal hospital who scheduled her for an appointment first thing tomorrow morning as they were quite worried about the fact that she hasn’t been eating. As any vet should be about a cat. God awful vet who just lost themselves a pet mom of 3!

I have never written a google review but in this case I felt compelled to do so. I had a horrible experience at Birch Dan Animal Hospital. I should have heeded the other google reviews saying what a terrible vet Dr Singh is and not to take your dogs or cats there. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they're close to me and I was able to go into the clinic with my dog as this is her first vet visit. What a mistake. I'm a new dog owner and this was my first experience with my rescue dog that I have had for only 3 months. The vet was argumentative and short. No explanations were given and the whole experience felt rushed. The receptionist and vet techs were lovely, however we will never be returning and have warned many people against the vet at this clinic. My dog came back soiled and petrified. There was no acknowledgement that a physical exam was performed but we were charged for it. My dog's weight and age were both wrong. Pills were pushed on us that she had no need for. We were overcharged for the vaccines given and the “physical exam” that was not done. The vet seemed like he did not like animals at all and didn’t once touch her. He gave me meds to administer to her because he couldn’t get my dog to cooperate to give them to her. As a first time dog owner I have no experience on how to administer these medications, whereas he is the vet and should be trained with techniques on how to handle animals. He didn't take the time or have the patience to properly deal with my dog and blamed her for being difficult an hard to handle. So beware and stay away from this place!

My friend’s dog was completely healed by Dr. Singh after being seriously injured in a car accident. This shows to me the high level of his skills. Both Doctors Singh are very kind and knowledgeable. I’ve been taking my dog and cats to them for years. Dr. Suki Singh often treats my pets and Is equally talented. The facility is very nice and is surrounded by lawns and gardens. There’s ample free parking too.

This veterinary clinic is AMAZING. I tried for so long to find a veterinary clinic to perform my dogs surgery that wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg, I even took my dog to the emergency vet but they claimed she didnt qualify as an "emergency" because she was still eating, so they said if I wanted them to do the surgery, it would cost atleast $2500. I was very fortunate when my friend recommended this location to me, not only did they give me the best price I could find, but they also were very polite and professional and took amazing care of my dog. She was in and out of surgery within about 2 hours. I will be bringing my animals to this location from now on, and highly recommend them.

please for anybody reading these posts, do not go to this vet. They over charge and made HUGE mistakes with our dog and every time they made a mistake they charged us. We have finally moved Vets and i wish we did sooner as we have had nothing but amazing experiences at the other vet we now attend. Again, please don't go to this vet as at some point you will be ripped off or even have your dog put in harms way when they make mistakes.

The vet killed my cat. If you love your pet, dont come here. They said they could save my cat and so we paid $1000 worth of money entrusting the vet to save him. My cat was supposed to stay at the vet for 3 days but he died on the first. So much money spent and cat dies on first day. The last time i went a few years ago, my cat had a problem with blinking in one eye. They could not figure what was wrong with him. They did multiple blood tests and other tests and charged me hundreds of dollars and in the end did not find out what was wrong with him. Vet just told me to buy him eye drops? So for my cats whole life buy him eyedrops? Doesnt make sense... till the day he died, one of his eyes still had trouble closing..... I didnt want to bring him to other vets because i was scared each vet would be the same and not find out what was wrong with him and I would need to pay the same amount of money (hundreds of dollars ) again. Overall this place is ridiculous and I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to ANYONE. They just scam you for your money!

I initially went to Birch Dan Animal Hospital to request an allergy test for my ailing cat Coco. Dr Harjinder Singh examined my cat and told me that she did not suffer from allergies (as the vet from Willowdale Animal Hospital suggested) but rather, that she was dying of cancer. He was compassionate in the delivery of the diagnosis and instead of profiting from my vulnerability, he instead suggested cost-effective tools of diagnosis the situation. His predictions were accurate and my cat passed away shortly after (she was too advanced for treatment). However, even after the cancer diagnosis was finally confirmed by Willowdale as well, they still tried to shake me for whatever money they could. I'll never forget how knowledgeable and compassionate Dr Singh was. He even followed up with me weeks after our visit even though Coco was not a regular patient. I highly recommend this vet.
