I have had animals cared for at this clinic for years (even before the Drs. Palmer took it over) and have always received excellent care for my pets. Whether it's for a routine appointment or an emergency, everyone is friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable.

I wouldn't trust my 4 legged family to anyone else! Dr. Palmer treats my dogs with the utmost care and kindness and takes his time explaining everything to us while we are there. I've gone in for emergency visits and Kelly always got us in right away. Recently we've taken one of our dogs that went elsewhere and within 3 weeks of treatment he's better than he's been in years.

Very friendly staff and prompt in answering any questions over phone or email and even social media. They really care for you and your pets. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get into any vets after adopting a kitten, many clinics weren't taking new patients, but I inquired about their fees via email and got a quick response with a very thorough rundown of the costs of the services they provide, while not one other clinic I contacted ever responded. I had considered just going somewhere with cheaper prices for spaying and vaccines but I'm very happy I chose this clinic. My cat is like family to me and they understand that. When I went in, after Dr. Palmer had checked her over, they took her picture and put in on their social media, and cood over her because she was so tiny and cute. I love looking at all the animals they get in there, I check every day! ????

Dr Palmer has been our vet for a very long time. He has treated 2 of our dogs and showed tremendous empathy and compassion when we had to face the hardest decision a dog owner could make. I recommend him to anyone with a furry friend, he's kind and speaks in language that you don't need a veterinarian education to understand. I know we will never go elsewhere! My 5 year shih tzu, had pyometra and came extremely close to complete organ failure, leading to death. Even though she wasn't a regular client, Dr Palmer took her in at 6:00 am and saved her life. I wish I could post a photo, wouldn't even recognize her now.

I was new to the area a couple months back and needed to find a vet for my cat, Lola. I was struggling to find a vet that was accepting new patients, until i stumbled across this one. I was so impressed by their process to see patients during these COVID pandemic times. Upon scheduling, they have an AMAZING online forum they ask you to fill out prior to coming in for your appt since you can not go inside, and that forum covers every aspect you could think of about your pet. Even though my pet was only there for vaccines, I felt like it was very thorough and the vet came out to my car and explained her entire exam, and answered any random questions i had at the time. I definitely recommend this vet!

The Palmers have been my vet over 30 years. I had many dogs and cats in those years and all were well cared for. Regular vet care as well as broken legs and diseases. Always knowledgeable. Giving me advice on behaviors as well. Terra Huston is a vet tech there that is also so knowledgeable in dog training and helping me with my needs. Please don't retire, I need you all.

Doctor Palmer is an incredible human being. He fit us in, without a scheduled appointment because our Frenchie frequired immediate medical attention. He was easy to talk to and was able to take exceptional care of our pup. It's doctors and staff like that, that make the tough times less stressful. We couldn't thank you enough.

my dog got hit by a car a couple years back. she is a registered as a patient across the river. and my cat WAS registered patient at the animal clinic. since it was an emergancy i took my dog to the animal clinic, worried she wasnt going to make it. they wouldnt accept her, told us she wasnt a register patient and that she would have to go somewhere else. i thought my dog was dying in my car. so i rate the animal clinic 0 if i could. aweful customer service did not make me happy what so ever

We brought our Golden, Lacey, to this Veterinarians establishment and, unfortunately after care given we had to put Lacey down???????? I called to bring in one of my cats and was refused. The new secretary or front end associate was very disrespectful also. After we lost our beautiful girl Lacey we figured we were clients but no way would they take my cat. The reason we were given was the Vets were too busy. I even told her that I’d wait and nope they refused my cat. Not only is this unprofessional it’s down right disrespectful!! They can take thousands of our dollars for treating our dog but refuse our cat!! They would actually make money as I have two rescued cats that need vaccinations etc. My boyfriend sent a private email to them expressing how we felt and we didn’t even receive a response to the email. This is why I’m posting here so every client can see, unless they remove it which is likely! We will never return to Sault Animal Hospital with any of our pets. Also your “new” secretary is total opposite of what you put on your website.

Our girls are regular patients of Dr. Palmers. When one of them got so sick that we had to make the hardest decision of our lives. Dr. Palmer and his staff were there to help us through the tough time. They made sure that we were in the office by ourselves with our dog. They had the room all set up when we got there. She had her favourite blanket and pillow. Dr. Palmer gave us all the time that we needed and we even brought our other girl in with us so she could say goodbye to her sister. I would not take my pets to any other vet. Dr. Palmer and his staff are the best.

Dr. Palmer and his staff have treated "our boy" Montgomery with the utmost care. He doesn't enjoy his trips to the clinic for his yearly check up only because he is an indoor cat and hates the car!! Dr. Palmer's recommendations on food, feeding times/quantity etc... have been appreciated and Montgomery is losing weight and getting back to his old self again. When we call with questions the clinic staff are very friendly and if they can't answer our questions at the time they do get back to us after consulting with Dr. Palmer. We would and have recommended Dr. Palmer and the Sault Ste. Marie Animal Clinic to all our friends and family.

I have be4en bringing my cats to Dr. Palmer for a couple of years now. I have never actually been there because, at this time, the office is inaccessible. The staff and Dr. Palmer have gone above and beyond for both my cats and I. Recently, one of my cats got quite ill while I was out of town. I was able to call any time to check on her and Dr. Palmer made several calls to me to discuss treatment options. Thet were anle to give my beloved cat another 2 months with us and I can't tell you what that meant to me. I will not take my pets anywhere else!

We had our first experience with Dr. Palmer when we took our 11 week old duck toller to him on an emergency call. He was so fantastic with Lando and called us first thing the next morning to see how our puppy was doing. At this time they were not our regular vet, but that didn't matter. After this we went to our then current vet for his 12 weeks shots and had such a terrible experience that we immediately switched to Dr. Palmer. The assistant working was fantastic and when we went in for our 16 week shots we had the best experience. They took the time to answer all questions and cared so much for our puppy that he didn't even realize he got shots! This clinc is amazing and cares for every animal that comes in. Thank you so much for everything that you do!

Best vet... EVER. We have never had a vet personally call us to discuss results, patient care, suggestions, etc. We are EXTREMELY particular about our vet services. But after just one visit, we will not go elsewhere. After two visits, completely confirmed that Dr. Palmer is simply The Best.

Had an emergency call to Dr. Palmer when our two dogs received bites that we thought might have been ticks while we were vacationing in the area from BC. He was very patient and identified what it was after we described the bugs and sent photos of the bite sites. We are very appreciative of the time he took to alleviate our concerns over the phone; clearly he is someone who cares about animals and their human family members! If we lived in Sault Ste. Marie, we wouldn't hesitate to make Sault Ste. Marie Animal Clinic our primary veterinary care provider. Thanks again Dr. Palmer!

Dr. Palmer and his staff have been looking after my golden retrievers for 25 years now and I could not ask for better care. I began going to them when my first dog got hit by a car. She was very seriously injured and even though they were not our vets at the time, they immediately took her in and saved her life! I have been going there ever since! They continue to take amazing care of my current dog and I continue to be happy with their service. I was especially appreciative of Dr. Palmer's compassion when we have had to say a permanent goodbye to our beloved dogs. Very poor service Rushed my dog in from a rural area , left my dog with the vet to get a call the next morning the dog died No one attended the dog during the night . I got billed $1300 got my dog back in a body bag Stay away if you can, Drive to Espanola if you have to
