First of all, i'd like to disclaim that people have a business to run, HOWEVER, when its basis is to basically exploit people in vulnerable situations such as mine this is NOT okay. I had my 20 year old dying sick cat, i had to call the emergency line the night before which led me to this place. I ended up waiting till the morning because i did not have an extra 300$ on top of the 300-500$ the lady quoted me to bring my cat and keep her ALIVE mind you. By the time i got her in at 9AM rushing them to hurry due to "covid" the over exaggerated flu, they came out to grab her and told me that she was barely breathing almost dead so they had to put her on oxygen and fluids. I was in hysterics the entire time during the whole ordeal, like I knew with her being 20 that the likely hood of her survival wasn't going to be good, but i was hoping to have at least another day with her. She advised me to put her down due to her suffering, and she tried to act compassionate but also tried to guilt trip for telling her or the assistant on the phone beforehand that the prices are ABSURD. I'm a single mother on assistance as i had mentioned that to her. She made an exception for me with my 'mask and social distanced" to come in while she put her to sleep but she gave me less then a MINUTE, she rushed me so much I don't even know if my poor cat knew i was there. I told her i didn't want a cremation because i knew the cost, and i didnt have it. With all that being said i went back into the car and waited for them to bring me my DEAD cat, she gave me a bill of 500$$! and then tried to say the vet took 200$ off for my situation?! I wasn't expecting to now pay more then 300 for the fact that my cat received barely 20 minutes of treatment and is no longer alive. I only paid 300$ and they are now expecting me to pay the remaining 200$ for again my dead cat that i have to deal with myself. The prices are absolutely out of this world. Horrible experience. Dr Ableson saw my dog in an emergency situation and she went above and beyond! Not being able to go in with him was scary for me, but I was constantly updated by her amazing husband and daughter who talked me through everything. From the minute she called me back after leaving a message, she was caring compassionate, and understanding. She was even able to understand me through my sobs. Thank you so much for the great care, and for easing my nerves on this holiday weekend!! The treatment plan for my boy was clearly laid out, and she gave me options so as to keep the cost down. Bright, clean, with a comfortable waiting area. My dog tends to be very anxious, but the staff were patient and gentle with her so she didn't become overly fearful. They did everything possible to make her checkup a positive experience. I will be a returning customer for sure.

If you wish to seek out a veterinary service who over books, makes you feel like you and your pets are simply $$ to them than this is the place for you. I don't normally write reviews on business regardless if I had a bad experience but when it comes to something close to my heart and that would be the well being of my animals more like companions than I believe more people should see honest reviews. I tried to give them the benefit of doubt in regards to this years turnout of COVID-19, but I started to feel as an unimportant client to them after only a few visits, they seemed to always forget who I was and the reason I was there and the pet I was bringing in regardless of the client account they set up.. it started to make me feel as if myself & my pets were just simply $$ to them. I never felt full reassurance or felt a piece of mind from having to bring in my pet for an appointment, as often times after the appointment there was a lack of communication in regards to how the exams went or how the test results came out after visits and felt more like " the total is....$$$". No follow up or concerns. Something you'd think you'd received in a service like this similar to doctor checks ups etc. Not all the staff exhibit this type of un professionalism but overall if you are seeking out a place who will show compassion in regards to your furry animals than I would suggest another veterinary service.

Very rude. Said to me "come over here and give me your money". Could have said "Come over here to pay" - something less rude. Also made me spend more money than necessary. Told me my dog had an infection because he had greenish discharge. I bought everything needed to take care of it $400. But it didn't clear up so I made another appointment the following week. At this appointment they tell me that it's normal for a male to have greenish discharge especially if he's not neutered. Another $100+. Also other issues of staff being rude have occurred but not going to blow up the review page with an enormous list. At the beginning they were quite nice but after a few visits with my two dogs thry became very rude. I would NOT recommend going here. I previously have recommend this place but after so many bad experiences here I never plan on returning to Ableson Veterinary Service on Trunk Road. In addition- they refused to take my boyfriends status card when he went in with one of our dogs.

Brought my pup for spade and vaccinations last year. Really disappointed in the way the billing and customer service was handled. Upon picking up my girl, I was charged the fee that was mentioned to me when I dropped her off. I was then asked “would you like a shirt for her?”. There was no mention of a charge for the shirt, but I later learned it was around $50. The shirt was ineffective and had someone told me the cost of it, I would not have taken it. Not only this, but they made a mistake with billing and left out over $100 worth of charges for vaccinations. I was billed for this in the mail. Nobody phoned me to let me know, and it was noted as a “mistake” on the bottom of the page. This was also when I found out the charge for the shirt. Disappointed with the level of professionalism, especially when I have brought all three of my pets to this vet. Probably won’t happen again. *Edit*. I just called in on March 26th, 2021 to unfortunately have my senior cat euthanized. Only to find out, that Ableson has closed my client file after years of bringing my animals to them. The reason being the previous two-star review that I put in about an error on their side. It’s always disappointing to realize the extend of unprofessionalism. Do not take your animals to this place, they have no compassion or willingness to take responsibility for their own mistakes.

The staff, including Dr Ableson, has always gone above and beyond to take care of my dog and his well being, all while showing nothing but love, kindness and compassion to both him and I. vet tech treated mom's dog like piece of meat, and when my mom said you are hurting the puppy she statement was "you can take your dog somewhere else", my mom did and they would not transfer files after 3 tries and they told her she could not pick them up, be very careful where you bring your fur babies for some people it is just a job

The doctors and staff are very caring and very good at their job looking after our animals my dog went in very sick they took her in right away and with in a few hours she was released with medication and food what she needed to get back on her feet within a few days she was on her way to recovering. We have been using Ableson's since not long after they opened. We are breeder's, so have a unique perspective because we use them for regular vet care, health testing, emergency care and we also hear from dozens of puppy families that also use them what their perspectives are as well. We have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. Dr. Ableson has always gone above and beyond for us and for our puppy families. She does home visits for us so that we don't have to expose the puppies to other dogs in the clinic, has always done very thorough health exams, willing to put in extra research into something I am inquiring into and so much more. While many vets in town are not taking clients during COVID, making many of our puppy families concerned they can't get a vet, she has said she would take them no problem. Just this week we had to have our first csection and Dr. Ableson had multiple people brought in and put the complete focus on my dog and her puppies, making sure there was one person for each puppy when they came out. The csection went great and was done quickly and efficiently, which is so important to save the puppies. Our girl once she woke up has been taking care of her puppies like she didn't even have a surgery at all. Her incision looks great and we couldn't be happier with the care we received. I was very, very grateful that we had Ableson's for the surgery and not another clinic in town, as I trust this clinic and know they have my dogs best interest in mind. I would (and do) highly recommend this clinic to anyone asking what clinic to go to in town. Our puppy families report wonderful things back to us on a regular basis as well.

We have been seeing Dr. Ableson and her staff for many years now and have always had an amazing experience with them. The staff is kind caring and understanding. Over the years we have not been strangers to illness, disease and loss and they have always been there for us whenever we needed them, and took care of our pack quickly, efficiently and compassionately. We recently felt another loss at the passing of our sweet Monroe and the whole team did everything they could to comfort us and Monroe during her passing, even during such a difficult time in the world with Covid. Service at Ableson Vet clinic? minus 5. My little 14 year old yorkie RIO became very ill when I was out of the country. My son called Ableson vet clinic for a decided euthanasia and he was told at 2:30pm that the service fee would be $300 as well as an additional $200 for the shot as they considered it to be an "emergency callout" and booked him for 4:45pm. My son explained prior that RIO had multiple health issues including HIGH anxiety which triggers his asthma as well as difficulty in breathing due to a collapse in his windpipe. When my son and daughter arrived at 4:45pm they had to SIT in the waiting room for close to an HOUR with a hurting, very stressed, unable to breathe, panicked dog. I was so shocked at the utter lack of compassion and unprofessionalism that was directed toward my pet. Multiple appointments paraded past my children into the exam rooms for routine visits. Do you think this justifies charging me $300 for an "emergency appointment" ??? My dog should have been seen within 5 minutes upon arrival. The entire procedure only took 5 minutes. It breaks my heart to think RIO left this world with fear and panic, gasping for each breath for an HOUR in front of a room full of other appointments because of the lousy service at this clinic. They gladly took my $300 which I consider thievery on the highest level. I spoke with the vet personally about this situation when I returned to the city and her responses were weak and lame. One answer was "We did the best we could". Well doctor...that's a FAIL. Another excuse was..."We had 34 appointments on Friday". How many appointments this clinic chooses to book in a day is up to them. If they were overwhelmed they should have refused our euthanasia request. Their greed over ruled priority service. Shame on this clinic and this vet for the way they treated RIO. I really hope she reflects on this case and makes adjustments in the way they prioritize appointments. I paid the emergency rate but I got the worst treatment I could have imagined for my little RIO. He did not leave this world peacefully and quickly because of this clinic and I am very upset about it.

We have used this clinic for our dog throughout the years are are VERYY HAPPY with the service! They are kind and caring and very professional and explain any procedure in great detail. We recently lost our 17 year old husky/shepherd mix, Billie, and they made that last visit as kind and gentle as possible to send her "gentilly into the night", which made a horrible situation as kind as possible. In moving forward we will certainly be bringing our new pup there!

Finding a vet you can trust is hard. I have gone to 2 other vets in town and was thoroughly disappointed. This is the place you want to go to! My dog scratched his eye (corneal ulcer) and was very close to losing his eye. They put a contact in and in all honesty prepared me for the worst. They had me coming in every 3/4 days to check up. Including a day where the main vet Ms. Ableson took away from her booked vacation just to take a look at my puppy and remove the contact. She truly loves the animals she gets in. Also she didnt charge me for all the visits and tried to help us financially as much as she could. She not only cared for my dog but for my whole family. Bender (my dog) is healing up very well! And looks like he will get to keep his eye. It's been a hard 3 weeks going in often and it was touch and go for a while, but we pulled it off!! I am so grateful to the entire staff, the effort and love you all put in. THANK YOU SO MUCH
