I just switched to his office after moving to the area a few years ago. They got me in at the end of the day when my older dog needed to be put down suddenly and were very compassionate. I brought my other dog in to be established as a patient there and was happy with our first appointment.

My dog had a huge growth on her neck the other vets around couldn't see me for 2-4 weeks but Black River were able to get me in within the hour and helped her immediately. The actual vet came out car-side to get my dog and check her in. It definitely made me feel more comfortable trusting them. Very good service and highly recommend them

Great Service. I had an appt on a Friday but I noticed the injury on my cat had gotten worse and they were able to fit me in Thursday. Great, pleasant staff and the vet was very kind. He explained everything to me and thankfully it was a small infection that antibiotics took care of. Definitely will go back here if my cats need any service!

Amazing experience. We had an issue with a stressed out cat experiencing separation anxiety, for lack of a better way to explain it, and although there isn't much medically they could do, the staff reassured us that we were handling things well and they were there for us if we needed them. Sometimes just being available means more than any prescription written.

Awesome experience! They fit us in when no one else could for a eye injury to our 1 year old staffy . All my questions was answered and my pup warmed up to Doctor Eric faster then she normally would warm up to a stranger. Would definitely recommend ! Clean organized friendly!

We were visiting in the area and noticed that our rescue, Barney, was coughing terribly and sounded like he was choking. We had been in TAWAS for Labor Day weekend and could not get a veterinarian to make a space to see our dog even though we were desperate and he sounded very sick. When we arrived here we saw the ad for Black River veterinary clinic. I called at 8 o’clock the day after our arrival and was greeted by a wonderful receptionist and she made an appointment for Barney at 11:00 and was very sympathetic to our needs for veterinary care even though we were from out of town. To make a long story short, Dr. Eric Naplin diagnosed our Yorkie with congestive heart failure and enlarged liver. He was in extreme distress and danger. Dr. Naplin explained everything clearly to us and then promptly set out protocols for treatment. He then followed up with us the next day. Had to special order medicine for us before we had to leave the area. I truly believed he saved our dog’s life. He was thorough, he was professional, he was kind and he provided all the tools we need to make the best of a bad case scenario. I can’t recommend this clinic enough. If you want compassion with excellent care and then some this is the place for your pet.

Our boxer had multiple seizures the day of the snow storm and were unable to find a vet willing or open to check him out. Black River was willing to see him although he was not a patient. The staff and Dr. Leah were so caring and professional. They were wonderful with Finn and so helpful. The office was beautiful and so clean. Dr. Leah even called the next am to see how he made it through the night.

Dr. Eric Naplin saw us almost immediately and treated us and our dog graciously and courteously, as if we had been clients forever! Michelle was amazing helping me with my emergency and so was Dr. Leigha (so?). My old timer is doing much better with their help! Wait time very minimal and cost of visit was shocking to say the least. And by that I mean expected to pay three times more then I did and visit included meds!
