We brought our rescue kitten to see Dre Briffod, their opthalmologist. She was kind, patient and extremely knowledgeable. Her technicians are all kind, patient and very skilled. It is expensive, as is the case with all veterinary care, but worth every penny to know your fur baby is in good hands.

Initially a great vet but with time (and maybe a side effect of covid) has degraded tremendously. I don't know if it's a lack of staff or due to COVID protocols but I have received increasingly poor service, very slow responses, a number of breakdowns in communication and overall bad experience. My animals quality of care has diminished. I would no longer recommend this vet.

Quick emergency service, friendly and competant staff (they almost always have someone bilingual present, and when they don't, the staff does make the effort to serve English speakers as best they can), excellent veterinarians, and they submit your pet insurance claim for you! (You still need to pay, and get reimbursed by the insurance company later, they just save you the hassle of filling out and submitting the forms yourself) Highly recommend if you are looking for a new vet.

Our cat has been a patient here twice for the same urgent urinary problems, and both times the staff have been amazing. They take care of us quickly and professionally, they follow up on every little detail and have provided overall wonderful service. Yes, going here in an emergency you will pay more than your regular vet, however they are open 24/7 and have all necessities (lab, surgery, etc) on site, so it to be expected. They have always offered us as many options as possible when/if money is an issue and while our cat's care has been a bit expensive, I cannot say enough good things about the service they have given us in exchange.

This place needs to shut down and the vets should go back to their real jobs of being car salesmen while the receptionists spend time finishing elementary school. I really appreciate the honesty and transparency of the Vet that took care of my dog Rocko Yesterday. Waiting time was really long but it's completely understandable due to the current covid situation.

I had to call random vets just to find him.... convince someone to tell me he was there... threaten to call the cops so I could pick him up and then pick him up on a metal slab at 5am in the morning in the south Shore of Montreal !!! It is the worst experience I had today! I have good impression for this hospital before, I went to here several years for my cat that has serious disease. Last year, I did not come and I went to a clinic close to my home and I come back to this hospital again, they have all my cat's file even last year from the clinic, the doctor talked to me no more than 3 minutes because everything in the file. But, they charged me tripled consultant fees like a robber, the doctor said my cat is a "NEW" patient only because we did not come last year.

If I could give this place 10 stars or more I would!!!! Dr. Jacques Dupuis and his wonderful surgical team (Catherine and Patrick) handled my puppy's fractured femur like champions! I live 10 hours from this specialized center and he promptly called me back to address the situation and rapidly gave me an appointment! Dr. Dupuis had to operate on my other labrador's cruciate ligaments several years back and he did a fantastic job then as well! He is so professional - you do not want to miss out on him in the unfortunate circumstance that your fur baby needs a surgery! Thank you for giving my baby Hershey the chance at a quality of life she otherwise would not of had if you had not been there to rapidly assist her. We look forward to seeing you at our follow-up appointment! Also important to mention was the friendliest of the staff - they greeted me so kindly when I first walked in the door. Such a warm experience even though I was living such a stressful time worrying about my puppy! And to those individuals always grumbling about the cost - well, reality check to all, this is a fraction of what OUR health care bills would cost if we did not have Quebec RAMQ cards. Yes, I agree it is expensive, but this is what it costs. They are not ripping us off! We cannot expect to pay a mere 100 dollars for the use of state of the art equipment (CT scanners, ultrasounds, endoscopy and fluoroscopy suites etc) and for the professional service rendered by the doctor. My cat started vomiting & diarrhea for 2 days. It wasn't eating nor drinking.Since my clinic was busy and full, i went to a different walk-in clinic in taschereau where they did x-ray and gave me anti vomiting pills(which didn't work) Later that night, my cat started vomiting again, so we had to bring it to Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud around midnight since it was dehydrated. *The lady at the reception was professional and really nice . *The waiting time considering the circumstances(covid,12 midnight) was good, 3 hours from start to finish. *The Doctor and Technician both were professional & great. Doctor recommended that the cat stay overnight to do a partial blood test,stool test and IV. The fee for that was 1000 dollars which we couldn't afford.So then she offered us an alternate solution which was reasonable.It was 432 dollars and that included the consultation fee($175) + 3 medication prescription+shot of anti nausea +shot of saline/electrolytes+ 4 different can food. I could safely say that the treatment worked and our cat felt much better the second day. Today he is back to normal, playing and happy. They might be more expensive than other places that's true, but when its an emergency around midnight, it might explain the expense.They treated my cat very well when the other clinic couldn't(which we paid 132 for x ray &anti vomiting pills. So you really get what you paid for. I would Recommend it to my friends & family

We brought out Bernese Mountain Dog here with an aggressive case of Malignant Histiocytosis. The oncology team was incredibly kind, professional and treated our Lily so well that she never even hesitated when coming back for treatments. We were not seeking a cure, just palliative care to prolong our time with her as much as we could and keep her comfortable. Can't tell you how reassuring it was to know that she was well cared for in her last months. As for the price, owning a pet comes with costs and this is part of what you sign up for when you adopt a pet. You can't know what illness/injuries your pet will face but as their caretaker you must be prepared. I suggest pet insurance as a way to ease the costs of care. I believe that those bemoaning the prices are simply out of touch of the cost of healthcare for any living creature. Thank you to Louis-Philippe de Lorimier and the oncology team for treating Lily so well and helping us through those difficult months.

Our kitty foolishly ate a piece of string last night and we took her to this centre for their their help. They picked up the phone straight away and attended to her as soon as they were able to. They were absolutely lovely and solved the issue quickly and efficiently - we were back home in three hours. We will definitely go back if needed and are so grateful for their help. I was recommended to this vet hospital because my lovely cat Kiki had to get an abdominal untrasound. I had previously read the reviews and had some serious apprehensions but pressed forward. I was glad I did. The technician assistant Nancy took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly beforehand and needless to say, I had many. She was very patient and understanding. From technical explications down to fees. I didn't want any surprises on my bill at the end nor any fine print that I wasn't put aware of. I was very satisfied with how gentil they handled my Kiki, how quickly Kiki took to Nancy. As a whole, the whole appointment went smoothly. Best of all, by the time I arrived home, I had already received the full report of the ultrasound including the pictures. This veterinary hospital is extremely professional, compassionate and reliable. I actually arrived 30 minutes late because of traffic and got lost getting there (never been to Brossard). They were so understanding. Not onlt did they not say anything negative about my tardiness, but they laughed it off and didn't make us wait when we finally got there. I'm honestly a little perplexed by the negative comments on here, but I guess we each have our experiences. I for one am glad I didn't get influenced by them. I thought the price I paid for an abdominal untrasound including written report with pictures done/sent within 30 minutes was well worth what I paid. I will surely recommend this place to everyone I know who owns a furry best friend/family member. Thank you Nancy and Dr.B. ????

I take my dog to Rive Sud every week or 2 weeks. The physiotherapist we see is amazing and wonderful with my dog. However, the reception staff and are rude and unhelpful. It should not take 30 minutes to pay a bill.

I came here with a dog in critical condition due to medical negligence of MTLVET in Verdun. The vets we spoke to for a second opinion gave our dog a small chance for survival. Centre vétérinaire Rive Sud NOT only was able to give us a few more days with our dog, but also provide us with viable options for price and care. (It's a pandemic and we don't have as much as we used to). Thank you to their excellent doctors and staff for giving us more time with our sweet girl.

Then we waited 1 hour before our cat was picked up. We left him for 12 hours in this clinic to finally discover that the poor animal suffered during all this time because no painkiller was given to him. Therefore, we do not recommend this clinic. (Original) Surpris devrais-je dire : notre chat s’est cassé le bassin. Après s’être rendu sur place, nous avons dû passer par 3 personnes au téléphone avant de nous faire entrer. Ensuite, nous avons attendu 1 heure avant que notre chat soit prise en charge. Nous l’avons laissé pendant 12h de temps dans cette clinique pour au final découvrir que le pauvre animal à souffert pendant tout ce temps là car aucun anti douleur ne lui a été donné. Par conséquent, nous ne recommandons pas cette clinique.

They let us down when we needed them the most. We went to see them in mid December because our dog had a small mass on her paw, thinking that it was an infection. Analysis showed that it was probably a tumor and we were refered to oncology. After seeing Dr de Lorimier mid January, and a battery of tests ($$$$), he confirmed that it was a tumor and suggested that we also consult someone in internal medecine. We had that consolutation the next day ($$). In both cases, the day of the consultation, we had a phone conversation with the doctor where we received an avalanche of information. At this point, Dr de Lorimier said he would call us back to discuss treatment. He never did. He did not return multiple calls and neither he nor his team replied to emails (suggested by the receptionist). After 3 weeks of trying to get a conversation with him, the tumor on my 7.5 lbs dog was now almost the size of ping pong ball and was bleeding every day. We consulted somewhere else to confirm that the best thing at this point was euthanazy. We proceeded earlier this week. In some comments, the owner replies that "We want to emphasize that our first priority is and always will be to provide state of the art veterinary care and keep pets healthy as long possible." How can you say that when some of your staff will not discuss treatment and will not return calls? In general, the staff is very nice. But not being able to get a call to discuss potential treatment, after paying thousands of dollars in consultation and analysis felt like a lack of professionalism.

Par contre, GROS bémol par rapport aux réceptionnistes : Des messages non-faits, un accueil sans égard, des changements de RV non- confirmés. Ouf. Si les réceptionnistes expliquaient davantage la surcharge de travail actuelle, prenaient le temps d'écouter les besoins des clients sans couper la parole et se montraient empathiques au vécu des clients, elles seraient probablement plus sereines dans leur travail.

Recently brought my Pomeranian for Patellar luxation surgery. With Covid it is hard to get a proper attention due to health restrictions, but this is everywhere. Dr L'Orange and his team were great explaining everything to me and I believe they did their best, always keeping my dog's health as a number 1 priority. I definitely recommend his services.

We had to visit this place with heavy hearts a few weeks ago to end the life of our wonderful dog companion, who was sick & in pain. Although it was a horrible thing to go through, the staff was so professional & compassionate both towards us & our dog that they made it somehow bearable. For that, we will be eternally grateful! It's such a difficult thing to do & these are moments when the quality of the staff is really tested. A lack of professionalism or compassion can really leave a bitter mark on an already crappy memory. The women working there were incredibly sweet & kind to our dog as they prepped him & made the whole process as comfortable as it can be for us all. They were very patient with us & gave us plenty of space to process our emotions before & after the procedure. We were able to be with him until the end & he was calm & well cared for during his last moments. We'll now be switching to this clinic to care for our other dog & future pets. Thank you! <3

The vet was willing to let my 5 month old puppy die. She didn't give him the oxygen he needed unless I went back to the clinic and paid 2500$ for the hospitalization. Of course, I didn't have a choice but to pay. I still thought the way she said it to me was very insensitive and put a lot of pressure on me. She was more focused on the payment than on my dog's health and well-being. I wouldn't recommend going to that clinic. They also explained to me that their prices were higher than any other clinic.

Money suckers! Service is not that great. My dog had a corneal ulcer everytime i go for revaluation every week they charged full consultation price plus meds.. I went like 3 times they never fixed my Dog. Everytime was a different vet..with different ideas and They changed the treatment everytime. One of them scratched the cornea of my Dog to "make it heal" and of course it make it worst!! I went to a different clinique and they fixed my Dog in 3 weeks with patience and love.

My brother asked them to transfer his dog file to my own veterinarian because he is travelling for 2 months and left us the dog for that time. They overcharge you and some of their employees really treat animals like a piece of meat. I hope this receptionist gets fired.

Never going there ever again. Everytime I visited they would change the gender of my black cat. I lost two cats to cancer because they did not care enough to detect it. Two months after their physical the cats showed signs of having the desease. On a couple of occasions I told the technician that there was something wrong with my black cat and their response was, "I don't know." Even when I told them my cat was losing weight even though he was eating more than usual. Two months later another vet. hospital determined he had cancer. This place is horrible.

Il nous a dit, oui elle est correct -.- mais oui on savait déjà qu’elle était correcte. Mon mari lui a demandé si elle avait vomi? Non Elle a pris des médicaments? I have to say, I initially gave 5 stars to this clinic. Accessible 24h/24. Staff professional and accessible, good written reports... But then, my dog got more sick and it started to be a nightmare. They asked videos of my dog so I sent some on their Facebook. Nobody returned to me, until I called to let them know. Then they told me they would upload them for the specialist to see it, which they didn`t. I had to call 3 times for the videos to finally be seen (I have to say - the situation was quite urgent). When I would call to ask a question about her condition, the actual technician that was supposed to answer me was not there and not returning the messages. I had to call many times, e-mail to get an answer. Then, things continued to worsen. It was now a question of life or death. I called in AM. Left a message. No return. Called 2x again that same day explaining the situation - no return. I ended up going to see another vet. My dog needed an euthanasia. The day after, she was gone. I NEVER got a return from this clinic despite leaving many messages concerning this URGENT situation and this is now 3 weeks ago.

Great job rescuing my kitty. They really advocated for him, and explained everything that was going to happen, and what to expect, which was nice. The only thing I wish I had know was how long it would take to get looked at properly - it was 3+ hours after being admitted that my cat was properly looked at, and I had no idea what timelines were. That said, I will trust this place everytime if my cat ever gets I'll again. The staff were friendly.

If you can not afford to properly care for your pet, or if having a pet thrusts you outside of your financial means there is a very simple answer. You should not own one, it is not a right as this is a responsibility and a living being that did not choose your penny pinching clutches to reign over him/her. OR Need a better source of income. This clinic is brilliant, the services are world-class and the level of care ASTOUNDS me! I am not capable of being happier than I already am with my experiences. From the administrative staff to the doctors and partners, I feel valued, respected and can see that my dogs are truly cared for in a way that I admire greatly. This clinic is such a profoundly superior option to every single clinic in my province that I fly from Manitoba to Montreal just to see my amazing vet. The tariff of return airfare for a 2 & ½ hour flight each way and one night at a hotel in old port does not make me blink. My dogs are my children, my family and I want the absolute best for them with no expense spared. QUALITY is what matters to me, because they matter to me. After my airfare & hotel, the vet bill is the least of my worry… Room service normally costs more hah! I love this clinic and I love my pets. My 18 year old cat Nelly was in serious distress on Sunday, when her regular vet was closed. The emergency call responder was exceptionally helpful in advising me, setting up our file in advance. When we arrived, they took her immediately to triage, administered state of the art care like oxygen, an ultrasound, and a full diagnostic assessment. Her prognosis, unfortunately, was not good no matter what steps might be taken. The veterinarian did not try to sell me false hope, as Nelly was advanced in age and very weak due to a bad reaction to a medication her regular vet had prescribed. She did inform me of further, costly measures which could be taken, but did not recommend them, due to her condition. The focus was clearly not on profit, but what was best for the animal. I sadly then decided to let her struggles come to a peaceful end. Every member of the staff was sensitive and sympathetic. They did not charge more than the very reasonable 24/7 consultation fee for her final care and did not try to rush us through. Highly recommend to anyone in the Montreal area who is in urgent need for their pet's well being, or peaceful demise, as it were. I returned home alone at peace, knowing I'd done everything I possible could for my beloved pet. I cannot say enough how good they were to us both.

It is unfortunate that I cannot rate it 0 stars because that is the true reflection of how they treat their patients. After spending over $40,000 on my cat since January, they suddenly decided to charge me $100 a day to give my cat insulin, which is a process that takes 2 minutes. I had been going to CVRS twice a day for weeks, before they decided to charge me. It is ridiculous!!! They made up a price when they realized that they could squeeze more money out of me. I negotiated it down to $60 a day and I would not have a problem if the technician who is administering the insulin makes $1,800 an hour, but that is NOT the case. I drive there twice a day, every 12 hours, to make sure my cat receives his medication on time. Once I arrive, I follow their COVID protocol, which is to call the receptionist when I am in the parking lot and wait for a call back when a technician is ready to pick up my cat. In the past 5 days, on four separate occasions, they have made me wait in the parking lot for 3 HOURS for their “call back.” The receptionist has forgotten multiple times to tell the technician that I am here. I find myself waiting aimlessly in the car, until my cat pees on himself. Not only is this absurd, but these are the last few days my cat has to live and we do not want to spend it in their parking lot. This review does not do justice to how disappointed I am. I have compiled all of my receipts and phone calls with them and sent them to the news, which will hopefully get their attention. I am also in the process of creating a website to explain my detailed experience these past few months. My goal is for CVRS to be held accountable for gambling with the lives of our loved ones. I cannot believe how disorganized this private clinic is. All that I could hope for is that no one would have to experience what I went through with CVRS. For the sake of your animal, I hope you are able to find a better solution than this place.

In each and every case, the service was excellent, quick, and done with such care and professionalism that I recommend HVRS to all pet owners that I know. I have developed a warm working relationship over the years with Dr. Jérôme Auger (surgeon) and Dr. Mylène-Kim Leclerc (neurologist) and I am comforted by the fact that they, and everyone at HVRS, are committed to doing their very best for our animals. Yes, it's expensive, but I never ever feel that I am being taken advantage of. It costs what it costs to have full-service, 24-hour high-level care. I came to this clinic with an emergency of my dog at 11PM, I had my 2yo with me also. When we arrived, the receptionist was quick, efficient and understanding of my situation. Consultation was quick and Dr. was kind enough to do so because it was late and my baby was with me. This was an act of kindness I appreciated. She also offered the option of calling her if additional questions appeared, and I had to ask the reception for the contact information. HOWEVER, three specific situations I'm upset about: 1. When I first tried to call the hospital, nobody picked up the phone, 2. When I was paying the (expensive) bill, my baby started crying so I only needed a minute to pay the bill and ask for an Uber back home BUT the same reception person who was nice at the beginning just kicked us off of the clinic because my baby was crying. She sent us for a 'walk' outside, I only needed a minute to get my s**t together and leave but she wouldn't give us even that. It was rude and thoughtless, I wonder, does she also kick people out in the middle of the winter? I had a sick animal and my 2 yo with me, all I needed was ONE minute, it wasn't like we were there for fun. 3. Even though Dr. offered the option of calling her if needed, the other receptionist told me to call and that a technician would help me, in other words, to call the same phone number they didn't pick up in the first place. I do hope I won't need emergency veterinary care in the future but I do not think I will be coming back here.

If you care about you pet, please avoid The Centre Veterinaire Rive Sud. My dog went for a simple ultrasound, and they overly sedated him. He is a calm, gentle dog and had no need to be sedated other than they want to do as many dogs as possible to make a profit. They promised that the sedation would wear off within an hour, but unfortunately they used a highly potent sedative that has made my dog severely ill. Their client services manager, AMELIE BLACKBURN, has guaranteed us that Butorphanol would not induce vomiting. However after 2 minutes of research, vomiting is NUMBER 1 side effects. HIGHLY UNETHICAL! DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!

Used to really like this vet clinic..efficient..friendly but a bit expensive. No matter they were far better than most. However lately much has changed. They blame covid for everything. You can't get to see a vet for weeks, if you want one sooner you have to call it an emergency and pay a heavy fee up-front just to walk in the door. They claim that they are over run with clients..yet when you go, few if any are there. I feel also that a lot of their personnel have left. As I have said they were always expensive but now it is gotten much worse and I get the impression they are less interested in the routine pet care and are aiming more for surgeries and emergency care where the big bucks are.

My cat was euthanized today. I called 6 other vets and explained to them that my cat was breathing very hard and it looked like she was starting to suffocate. All 6 just shot me down within seconds, stating they are too occupied today. This place told me YES right away and stated asking about the cat and her current condition. I get that covid-19 is causing issues, but there is NO reason to let a animal suffocate to death because you can't perform a solution that literally took only a few minutes at Centre Veterinaire Rive Sud. Her chest cavity was filling up with liquid which was causing the problem. She was 10 years old and got an operation to remove a tumor in december. From the calls i made, the average price for euthanasia was 250 before taxes. I was lucky to find their number with a google search at the 7th attempt. They ALL were very polite, professional, and beyond that, unlike the other places i called, they truly cared for the animals. Not just about making $. The euthanasia cost me a little above 200 with taxes which is less than the others BEFORE taxes. The vet that did the procedure even got a bit emotional when i started to tear up after the procedure. To illustrate how short my temper as been in the past 2 weeks,I had a serious car crash (cell phone broke as well), problems with the insurance, job related issues (from covid-19), to now my cat dying and not a single vet that is even trying to help. So as you can see, i was extremely likely to be unsatisfied and "mad at the world" as the saying goes. Well, i could not be more relieved from how this turned out for my cat. I know my review is a bit all over the place. Just got back and i'm still emotional. Writing it as it comes. Ill stop rambling and i'll say this: to EVERY employee that dealt with me today, Thank you for being the people you are.

C'est évident que c'était la patte gauche qui était blessée!!! J'attends qu'ils corrigent leur erreur pour supprimer cette mauvaise expérience. On a payé environ 400$ pour exactement rien. I was a client of theirs for a few years, as we couldn't really find any good vets near home. During our time there, we have seen some great doctors, such as Dr. Dube, Dr. Perreault, Dr. de Lorimier and Dr. Huneault who is an amazing surgeon. Though we have had some good experiences, most of them are not. They are very money driven and seem to only care about that, which is quite sad. Even if you have an appointment, be ready to wait 30 mins to 1 hour (if not more) before seeing a doctor. Overall, I think the oncologist (Dr. de Lorimier) and their surgery specialist (Dr. Huneault) are amazing, but I wouldn't go there for just a consultation.

We went to another vet in Montreal, I am not letting my dog suffering for 8h. But everybody I met in this clinic was very supportive, explaining all the treatments, dog's needs and possibilities. Beside the waiting (they really have a lot of work there), everything was as nice as it can be. Le coût nous a paru normal. Je recommande. Nous n'avons pas réussi à avoir de rendez vous à temps chez un vétérinaire d'où les urgences.

I’m very disappointed that my kitten had passed, they had told me they’d keep him in the morgue until I came to say my goodbyes before taking him for group cremation. When i arrived the day after his passing to come say my goodbyes they had told me that they already taken all the animals for group cremation but haven’t started the cremation yet. I was very upset about that because I was expecting to see him one last time but they said if I wanted they could bring him back in four days so I can say my goodbyes. I had said no because I just wanted him to rest easy now instead of them retrieving him from the others and they said if I changed my mind to call over the weekend. I didn’t call and then a week later I get a call back saying they brought his body back even though I had already said I didn’t want that. I’m extremely furious I just wanted my baby to be left alone and let him be at peace instead of being bought back and forth.

We took our cat that had hepatic lipidosis, I think it was already late when we noticed, I think they tried everything they could, I want to believe this, it was very expensive ($6000) but unfortunately they had to put him down since he wasn't responding well to their treatment and developed sepsis. We took the very hard decision of giving our Boris a final rest, and the staff took care of our 1 and half yr old daughter when we had to spend some last moments with him, they were very nice with her, and helped us on that moment. I wish they could have saved our furry friend since he was everything for us, but in our hearts we think they did everything they could, staff was always informing us about the evolution and any costs that was related, we knew it was expensive and we cared more about saving our pet than money, but not even that was possible. Be careful, this clinic overcharges you aggressively. They charged me $ 88 for 60 pills of Citrate Potassium 250 mg for my dog. I just found out that you can get the same thing from any super market for a bottle of 200 pills for only $12.85 . Wow! Good for the clinic but what a rip off for their customers!

I took one of my dogs here because she suddenly convulsing at home and became unresponsive to me. The vets did all they could to make her come home with us, but unfortunately she did not come home with me that day... They were very professional in the beginning when they explained to me all the tests and drugs that they would be using to try to stabilize my dog's situation, but what was truly remarkable to me was them showing their human side; the watery eyes, the kind words that they expressed, giving me all the time I needed to say farewell to my friend. I brought my 2nd dog here one night because she started suffering from bloody diarrhea. Although the wait time was long that day, I definitely did not mind as I saw numerous cases before me that were more urgent (a dying cat, a dog with a bad eye injury, a dog with a gash on its tummy, a dog that had a rectal prolapse). When it was my turn, the Doc came to the room with a smile even though it must have been a one hell of a day for her. She gave my dog a thorough examination and prescribed some antibiotics, pain killers and special food. She is now at 100% and being as playful as ever. Thank you all so much for your professionalism and dedication to your work. You are all wonderful people. Stay safe!

i hate this vet. in the beginning of 2017, we came here for vaccines and to check a lump on the side of my dog. they told us it was nothing and we had nothing to worry about.so we thought nothing of it. but in december of that year, we went to another vet, they told us he had a tumor that was there for around a year and we had to put him down. if this vet had properly examined him, he would have had surgery and lived longer.

If there were 10 stars I would rate our experience as 10 star. No wonder other vet clinics recommend rive sud animal hospital. From the moment I called with an urgent situation of our family dogs encounter with a porcupine in the mountains they showed a sense of urgency, immediate compassion, expertise and guidance. We were a 2 hrs drive away late last night and the team did everything perfect from the team member on the phone to the technicians who greeted us at the hospital. They were so good with our Boxer massif named Max. We couldn't go in with him but they were great with status updates to our phone. A special shout out to Marc LaChapelle the highly competent vet that really cared for Max ... thank you all, Max is mending well let's hope he avoids future porcupines.

Dr Lachapelle is awesome. Had to put my dying 12yr old Maltese baby to sleep. Vet was soooo kind & compassionate, patient, understanding. He's in it for the love of animals, not for the $$$. Would HIGHLY recommend him but he doesn't take patients, he just works as an emergency night vet. A shame as he is extremely thorough, knowledgable & makes the most difficult moment of a pet parent's life a lot more peaceful & guilt free.

The clinic was very disorganized.I could not get support from the oncology clinic when I was dealing with a sick pet. Terrible experience with my dog with cancer there. They view your dog as a bag of money administering over testing and not even commenting on the test they are doing. My last visit I was charged for xrays and an ultrasound when I explicitly told them I didn't want it. You can't expect a dog to keep his spirits up when at every treament they have to go through this ordeal everytime you bring him in for treatment, especially since owners aren't allowed to accompany them and comfort them. But its broken telephone, a 'nurse' takes them, they will go through each specialist and some person at the end tells you their impression, I went twice, the second time was with a different Oncologist cause the other was on vacation, this new one was pushing other another treatment the other Oncologist mentioned but the costs associated were twice of the other Oncologist. Do they get commission on this stuff??? Stick their finger in the wind and see how we can fleece someone. Really, do your dog respect and let them fight this with dignity. The Oncologist didn't mention the results of the ultrasound event though I was charged for it. Neither did she show me the comparative xrays. These people will be swindlers if you let them. I decided to put her down recently. Between my experience at DMV and here. I knew I didn't want to allow my dog to continue through this. DMV is sligthly better, albeit not by much. ---- Hi - it looks like I cant post a reply from the response you provided. So Im editing this. Thank you for your sympathy. You stated if there is anything you can do then please take these suggestions into consideration. 1)First and foremost, let the owners accompany the dogs for testing. I waited an hour not knowing what was happening - God knows what she must have been feeling. Treat them as you would treat a child. Parents are allowed to accompany their children. 2) Have consistent pricing. Make sure all the oncolists are on the right page. I was told 600 dollars for one treatment of intraveneous chemo initially then was quoted 1000 on my next visit. 3) I told the nurse I didn't want an Ultrasound or Xray. He assured me not a problem,. Yet you did it. Increase the communication between specialists and staff. I was stuck with a bill and much worse a traumatized dog with a terribly shaven belly.

I had brought my cat Chester to this vet on February 7/2017 they didn't even examine him and already had me up to a 1000$ not even known what the problem was. Then I said hold on that's expensive so they came back at 600$ still high for not examining him. He went in with vomiting and diarrhea they said they would keep him for 24hrs they hooked him up to IV for fluids and antibiotics. I went back that night to visit him and asked why does he looks so tired and not all there, the lady who was working in the back said " OH THATS BECAUSE HE IS STONED ". ( HER WORDS) I was not impressed at all so disappointed I brought my cat in cause he was sick he didn't need pain meds. I picked him up on February 8/2017 after paying the full amount witch was around 700 they told me that they didn't know what was wrong with him and that they need another 250 to run a blood test, plus keep him for another 24hrs in additional cost 300$ I couldn't afford that so I took him home and they said they would give me his medication for a few days cause I was so upset I got home and they gave me (1 PILL OF EACH ) They were suppose to give me for a couple of day but on gave me for one day. . They still didn't know what was wrong with him and they were just winging it and giving him medication on a guess of what it could possible be. When I asked why they didn't do that blood test first they couldn't give me an answer. when i went to pick him up he was soaked to the bones. Every time I called no one was on the same page always got the run around and all different answers. After I got home and looked at the paper of what they did in 24hr its was all FEES and hospitalization FEE 3 times. They said they would give me a free consultation but anything else would be further cost. I took my animal to another vet on CH. DU CHAMBLY who check my cat right then and there his ears, his teeth, his temperature, told me he has food poison from something he ate outside and gave me his medication for 2 weeks all for the cost of $100.00 and that includes is exam. Also said Monday to call back so I can give them a follow up not take my cat in the back where I couldn't see him and come back and tell me a 1000$. This place is complete money hungry. Honestly, I am beyond thankful for this amazing pet clinic - I came in with my sick cat on a Saturday night and they took him in promptly . The receptionists are very nice and friendly. The waiting area is clean, but the check up room was full of previous animal fur. The vets are friendly too, but they try to make your bill bigger. My kitten was limping and meowing too loud late in the night, so I had to bring him to a vet as fast as possible to make sure he doesn't have a fracture. The vet suggested me to do x-ray that cost me $200.00. Then he looked at the x-ray pictures and sais he wasn't sure if there was a fracture or not and if I want a x-ray specialist to look at that closer and give his opinion I have to pay $70. Then I asked if that would make any difference for the treatment. And he answered that the treatment would be the same in all the cases. He prescribed the painkillers and suggested to keep the pet in the cage and make sure it doesn't move too much. The vet could't put a cast or splint, because the kitten was too small and cats have incredible healing power. I ended up with a $400 bill and the paw healed in 2 weeks. One possitive thing from my experience - 2 days after the first visit they invited me for a FREE check up. They didn't say much about kitten's paw again...just extended the painkiller prescription.

Friday I woke up and noticed by cat was in pain. I called the emergency line and kept getting transferred back and forth to technicians that would evaluate my case for about 45 minutes. After finally getting someone on the line, they strongly recommended that I bring in my cat for an emergency check-in. Upon arrival, I called the clinic from the car to signal our presence, and a technician got back to us 30 minutes later for an admission evaluation. I'd like to point out that they prioritize the most serious cases. I finally got to bring my cat in and had to leave. A few hours later I got a call from the vet and they explained what the prognosis was, and asked to make a 75% deposit on the total potential costs. After everything was paid and signed, they went ahead with the procedures and called me back after to give me some news. I was very pleased to be kept in the loop throughout the whole thing. They would take the time to talk to me on the phone even when I called. I was thankfully allowed to visit the next afternoon in a private room, even though my cat was hooked up to IVs and more which was very appreciated. Anyway, I had a great experience at this hospital, the staff and vet were very friendly and attentive and kept good communication with me during the 3-day stay of my cat. I removed 1 star for the difficulty to reach them when I first called and because it is quite pricey, but that is to be expected when going to the vet, and my cat has no price-limit. Thank you Dr. Brown and the staff for the great care!

Just a terrible experience so far 1 - Set up an appointment, and was turned away at the front desk. I had confirmed over the phone it was for the next day, but they had booked the wrong day. Since it was my first visit, I chalked it up to human error, including potentially my own, so I let it go 2 - I felt like they were using scare tactics to make me think I needed to pay more than I should have for extra tests. They kept calling the growth a tumor. Again, on it's own, I let it go. The service is unreliable. They are high priced and cannot deliver. Hourly fees for vets who have little experience are equivalent to vets with over 30 years of hands on experience. They are always looking to add-on services to hike up the bill. They cannot deliver meds on time, even if these have been ordered 48 hours ahead of time. Poor follow up with the clients. Poor follow up for the animals. This place is to be avoided at all cost: You will avoid the cost to your animal. You will avoid the cost to your wallet. I have been taking my cat there for the last two years. She has had pancreatitis, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer, periodically a feeding tube in her esophagus and diabetes. You may think after my words that my cat is a write off. In fact, her quality of life is great and I have to thank Drs. Poirier and Rose who are beyond amazing in their expertise and care. You will find no better a facility or veterinary skills anywhere in the Montreal area. They are without any doubt the best of the best. Their care is not cheap but it is most definitely outstanding.

My beloved 13yr old Persian cat had a heart murmur issue since he was a kitty. Due to a one-time bile vomiting, I took him to this hospital early morning. After examination by vet, knowing he has heart murmur, doing blood and ultrasound tests, the vet injected him Cerenia (Maropitant) and prescribed it for 5 days. After visiting hospital, my cat stopped eating for two days and returning back to the hospital they hospitalized him to inject IV fluid to compensate the nutrition required and again Cerenia, Buprenorphine, Ampiciline, Omeprazole, Mirtazapine are used and injected. That night my cat died because of a heart attack at the hospital. Now, after doing some research I can see the instructions says: Cerenia (Maropitant) should also not be used with calcium channel antagonists (used to treat high blood pressure) or in "animals with heart disease", as it has a slight affinity for calcium and potassium channels.

Worst service ever! I waited 3 weeks you get an appointment to spay my cat and he has 3 hearts problems. Arrived at the clinic around 7am, dropped my cat then left. 5 minutes later, got a call that we have to pick him up because they can’t spay him without a specialist because they didn’t check his folder... How great is that! They suggested to keep him at the clinic until Wednesday and we are Thursday today or bring him back home and come back on a Monday in 2 weeks... Obviously I brought him back home what the hell was that option? So my cat starved the whole night and been in a car for 1h for nothing. They also changed the price 3 times which the first one was 250$, 2nd was 300$-350$ now its 700$. Can’t ask for a better service :)

My Maltese had to stay 3 nights and the bill was over 3800 just for that! plus $300 for blood tests, $600 for ultrasound, 315 for consultation, 200 in medication! This is absolutely crazy! The government should definitely have this domain regulated. These prices are absurd! Do not bring your dog here! This is robbery! Your dog is sick and they make you sick by charging these prices. We have had 2 dogs have TPLO surgery at this clinic with Dr. Henault. Can't say enough good things about him. Great orthopedic surgeon and great bedside manner. Our most recent dog had surgery 10 days ago. Though their procedures have changed with COVID-19, they are still great. Busier than normal as a lot of vets are not doing full services right now so be prepared for it to cost a bit more for a visit (they are open 24/7 and full of specialists which costs more). Everyone is very compassionate and takes their time explaining. Dr. Henault does the phone calls himself which is appreciated. We will have to have Amber evaluated by another specialist as she has a slight incontinence problem and I expect we will be just as pleased.

I gave myself some time to consider everything with this place and I still feel like I should not have come here to treat my furry friend. All of his problems started when I brought him in to get his shots, they recommended a combo shot which included respriatory something for his lungs. He became sick after couple weeks/months after this and after thousands of dollars later and another vet trip they said it's a tumor on his lungs. Willing to spend every bit of money I had for my cat I wanted to continue with any kind of treatment and after coming in for the third time i got a brand new Vet who didn't really understand what was going on or how to help ( she was really nice though and did try her best). After sedating him and taking him away they realized they read the scans wrong and couldn't biopsy him as it wasn't on his lungs it was actually inside of his lungs. We've had the unfortunate decision to put our blessed little 18 year old Bichon to rest in peace. From the moment we got to this clinic till the very end in the middle of the night, the vet who handled our case was exceptional and extremely compassionate. ANYTHING TO MAKE MORE MONEY!! It was obvious what my dog had, all the symptoms were there yet they tried convincing me to do more and more and more testing each test was between 60$ and 300$ it just kept adding up. I understand they are trying to figure it out but it was so obvious. I simply asked them what would the surgery cost and they said 2000$ I went to my vet for an emergency appointment and the same surgery was 600$........ without it my dog would've died. Its pretty sad to know that they would rather make more money then give ppl the chance to save there dogs.

I wish I was writing this review under better circumstances but unfortunately my husband and I had to visit this vet for a medical emergency that one of our cats was experiencing which turned out to be an aortic thromboembolism causing paralysis of his hind legs. From the time I called the vet in a panic-striken state at 3:15am to the time we left the vet at 6:15am, the staff was very supportive and attentive to our every need. They cared for our lovable Coconut from the moment we arrived and it was readily apparent that his well-being was their number one concern. The veterinarian gently informed us of his condition and did not try to give us false hope or push treatment that would just prolong his suffering. Sadly, we had to let him go, something that we were not at all prepared for, but the staff let us spend as much time as we needed with him before watching him leave this earth. This was very traumatic but I don’t think there would have been a better staff to help us get through this unfortunate and difficult situation. Our deepest thank you to them.

Amazing centre, incredible staff. I took my 10 year old retriever in because she was having difficulty breathing. They did everything they could to try and save her but unfortunately her condition worsened and I had to put her down. The staff was very understanding and gave me a realistic assessment of her condition. They could have kept her alive with mechanical breathing, but they assured me the cost and effectiveness of the treatment would not have improved her situation significantly. I think that speaks volumes about their care for both patient and owner, it was a hard decision, but it was the right one. Additionally, the doctor in charge of my buddy was very compassionate and took excellent care of her right until the end. It's not the way I would have wanted her to go, but I'm so thankful that she got to spend her last moments with amazing people who really cared. Thank you for the amazing work you do.

Et les jours qui ont suivi, j'ai envoyé des courriels au centre avec des questions et le vétérinaire a répondu à toutes mes questions. Février 2021: très satisfaite des soins reçus en médecine interne. Explications claires, bons traitements, elle n'a pas eu de bleu suite à la prise de sang. Be on your toes if you go to this vet. They are quite over priced and will make efforts to have you purchase specific medications based on higher price points and will even attempt to alarm you into getting expensive unnecessary tests done. We went to the Vet Rive sud at 10am on a Saturday since our puppy was in extreme pain due to a sprained neck and only around 5 animals in line before us. Since they considered our situation not that of an emergency, they told us to go back home and wait till they called us to come in for the consulation. It is now 5pm and we received a call from them to come in. This is so ridiculous as a wait time for a puppy in pain. I do understand there are more urgent situations that may have occurred but 7 hrs wait time, this makes no sense. I would recommend no pet owner should go to a place that doesn't care about animals, no matter how small the issue is. It could of been the quickest $250 that this vet could of made.

I had a pretty bad experience... My cat needed emergency care, I called them and they seemed to be helpful. Told me to come, and let them know once there. Took the cat, went inside and was told to go back to the car and sit and wait 1-2 hours for someone to call. Then I can take him in... Waited for 2.5 hours, no one called. Finally made a few calls around and got him the care he needed somewhere else. Later that night, 5 hours after they told me to go sit in the car, they called and left a message to tell me to call them if I'm still interested!!!! Really?! Did they really expect me to keep a sick animal in a cage in the car without door or litter access for all those hours?! I will never go back!

C'est le Docteur Auger qui à pris le cas de Honey en charge avec toute son équipe. Je peux vous confirmer que se sont tous des gens vraiment très très compétent qui on à coeur le bien-être de votre animal! J'ai eu à parler avec plusieurs membres de l'équipe, que se soit des gens à l’accueil ou des gens qui ont donnée les soins à Honey tous des perles!! Ils se sont tous montrer très attentionné envers Honey et très compréhensif, empathique (parce que j'étais vraiment très ''tanante'' à appelez et à aller demander des nouvelles de Honey au 2 min ;) et à chaque fois ils ont pris le temps de me parler et de me donner des nouvelles pour me rassurer. We always go here if we have have an urgent need of a vet for our dog, Scooby . It's open 24/7 and they are very competent and well equipped. They also offer training services for your dogs trough highly qualified trainers! I find they late night and weekend fee kind of high but I'm just glad that they are there in need!

I am so impressed with the quality of care we received for our dog. We used their emergency services twice when she was sick and from the minute we walked in, we felt that the staff were organized and knowledgeable. They were clear in different treatment options and transparent in their pricing. We even had to call to change medication because our dog did not tolerate it well and they immediately switched it over the phone. Once our dog was home, we received calls every few days, and when her situation improved, every week for a month just for follow up. Definitely best veterinary medicine experience we've ever had. Cannot recommend enough.

Okay where do I begin. I see from other reviews here that I am not alone in my experience. Everyone is really nice, they pull off the professionalism act very well-while they rob you blind and let your animal SUFFER. CASE 1-my dog I rescued her with severe otitis. I spent well over 1000$ there and it was never cured. First they charged me 40$ for a culture-the secretion is yelliw green, I know it's yeast-they know it's yeast, but I want to be sure my pup gets effective treatment so I pay. Result inconclusive. So they suggest 115 test. I say yes. Result inconclusive. They charged me 205$ for a 2.5ml bottle of mometasone, plus ear wash, plus antibiotics. Doesn't work. Went elsewhere after 2 or 3 useless expensive visits here - spent 100$ elsewhere visit + drops =ears cured and have remained cured for 5 years since. CASE 2-Easter Sunday my cat develops crystals. Bring him in cuz nowhere else is open even though I know these guys are scammers. But my darling cat is suffering and my heart is aching. First treatment some pills, painkillers drain the bladder. 800$. Next day my cat is acting weird he stays like a statue in same position for hours covered in urine, won't eat won't drink. I call and ask why isn't he receiving antiflammatory and antibiotics - they tell me this is the treatment-follow through on treatment...ok. I am forcefeeding liquid and puré to keep him alive every 3 hours-they say let meds work and we can give you appetite stimulator. Few days go by no improvement whatsoever-he is peeing blood he is skin and bones. We take him back another 600$ to drain bladder and surgery is recomended at 2000$. I tell my partner we can't do this and I can't watch him die-my partner takes him to another vet and guess what? Anti-inflammatory, bladder drained, antibiotics and painkiller if needed-$275. Next day my cat is himself. CASE 3-my mother rescues a cat takes her there immediately to check for fleas, leukemia, microchip, vaccination, spaying. They keep cat for afternoon. They can't tell if she is spayed but suggest ultrasound at 400$. My mom refuses so they say they will have to discover under operation. Luckily waiting list is 6 months-my mom won't wait so she calls another vet. Guess what? Cat is spayed AND tattooed. They other vet shaved her belly found scar and rescue tattoo. Cost 89$. These guys tried to scam my mom out of an ultrasound or a useless surgery to open that poor cat up when they could have shaved her belly!!! Please staff do not reply to my email there is no defense for this practice.

An appointment was booked promptly, we were seen on time, both reception and radiology staff have been very polite and considerate, and my dog received top level testing very quickly and efficiently. I had a radiology report in my email by the time I got home, and the results of fine needle aspiration came back same day- so fast that my doctor husband could not believe it could be done so quick. Yes, all this testing cost a LOT, and tests revealed devastating results. That's just healthcare in general though: you visit when you are ill to begin with and everything costs. But my pet got excellent care, and we know what's going on without waffling around waiting to see what happens next. Based on my experience, I would have no hesitation to recommend this clinic.

Après avoir subi l’humiliation de la part de la réceptionniste qui a mentionné sans discrétion devant d’autres client « quoi vous n’avez pas l’argent pour payer » je me suis fais dire non sans proposition d’arrangement J’ai payé 500.00$ car j’ai une limite quotidienne maximale de retrait et il mon fait signer une déclaration pour je paie les 1200.00$ restant dans la journée ce que j’ai fait bien entendu pour mon animal. Mais le lendemain on me réclamait encore 800.00 $ de plus parce que mon animal devait y rester une autre journée pour continuer le traitement. Je pensais qu’avec les 1700.00$ que j’avais déjà payé et ma fidélité à cet hôpital depuis le tout début, l’administration aurait pris en compte ma bonne foi ainsi que ma bonne clientèle de longue date .... mais non! Au final, ma facture a été de 3,500.00$ pour un séjour de 2 nuits. Lorsque nous arrivons avec notre animal gravement malade et en détresse respiratoire notre niveau de stress est à son maximum et les émotions prennent le dessus Je n’ai pas ressenti d’empathie de leur part. CRVS n’a aucune considération pour leurs clients et les animaux, c’est tout simplement une grosse machine qui aime se donner en spectacle et ramasser des gros sous!!!

My old vet used to charge me very cheap prices compared to this vet, however, my cat 8 month old died of an infection from a simple neuter and I refused to bring another cat there... In result, I started coming to this vet and although it is more expensive, it is the best care for your animal! If a vet is charging low prices, sometimes it’s because it’s low quality. Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud will not disappoint!
