If one calls an institute and pushes all the right numbers for English., I presume they should be answered in English after waiting on line to be answered, otherwise THE INSTITUTE SHOULD REMOVE THE OPTION. Also when we call an institute that WE PAY FOR we should not be answered with attitude like the ARROGANT PERSON JUST DID TO ME. If this receptionist does not like her JOB she should not be answering the PHONE. Today is 1:45 or 13h45 as they say in French, Date is April 1. Not much of an April Fools gag!!

I was not allowed to go and see my dog during his last dose of chemo therapy. I told them I wanted to stop the treatment and that this would be the last treatment. This exam took more longer than usual and I could hear him bark alot which was unusual. Next day we found him on our patio. Rip July 25 2015 he was 4 years old. I'm not blaming no one.

My dog died here so I am bitter. They are very expensive but provide a good service. The 24/7 service makes this place a no brainer in an emergency situation with your pet. But they do not perform miracles .

They killed our cat and made us pay the bill. Don't trust this clinic if you really love your pet. Shame on you Kim Genois. If you had any conscience at all, you would have simply taken steps to show empathy, understanding and compassion. Instead you took advantage of us at our most vulnerable moment. Shame on Vincent Gauthier who would be better suited to work in a morgue where he doesn't have to show any compassion, just lecture corpses who have no pulse just like him. Shame on Emilie Tougas for placing us into her trust by telling us that everything would be okay and all the recommendations that she so "professionally" convinced us with her charm would be just right and that Misty would be perfectly taken care of and for us to not worry. You are all responsible for her death and you know it. No matter what kind of spin you try to put on your mistake, you are ultimately responsible.

I visited here a month ago for emergency reason. I would like to thank to the nurse (or vet) who dropped tears for me and my cat Yaong! He is permanently recovered now :) I will always pray for you, thank you for showing cares and love on that day. The price for the medicines and consultation was really high(I think Canadian vets usually have higher price range than other countries). And I spent 1700 for one visit including medicines. I gave up hospitality due to price, but it was actually the best decision for my cat since he is extremely sensitive for vet visit. But the employees there are kind and nice.

We brought our puppy here last Monday for an emergency broken leg. Within 2 days, we came back 4 times due to swelling of her paw. I also spoke to them about my concerns that the tape on the cast they put on her is stuck to her belly so every time she tries to pee or poo, it’s pulling on her skin which is what causes her pain rather than her broken leg. They sent me home every time saying oh it’s normal, bring her back if her paw swells even more than it already HAS by the way. After being sent home for the fourth time feeling uneasy, we decided to bring her to a different clinic. Our new clinic tells us of their concerns that the cast was put on too straight and that it’s way too early to be swelling so much especially after only 2 days. I told them about her discomfort with the tape on her belly which they completely understood. So having said that, we had to change her cast again after 3 days of just having to put it on at CVL and paying $800 worth for a badly done job. I even emailed them and they didn’t respond. Thankfully with her new cast and new vet, she is super energetic and seems to forget she even has a cast on. Needless to say, I won’t be going back to CVL.

My dog was limping so I rushed him to this 24 hour emergency hospital and it was a huge mistake. Firstly, the Vet. Tells me that my dog is too nervous thus they need to take him to another room without me. Against my better judgement I agree. After that the VET tells me they needed to inject him with two morphine shots to properly examine him. (Same experience happened to others which I didn't know). Was charged twice. Then the VET kept pushing for more tests but all I wanted to know is his leg broken. He had a sprain and I bet they new that from the beginning. They don't care about your pets They ARE not VETS but only salesman. I will never ever go back there again I guess the high cost to maintain that hospital thus poor pet owners who love there pets get sucked in to do unnecessary tests!!! Shame on you.

I am flabbergasted that when they put my dog down .. it was on the floor .. at a charge of $450 dollars ... the least .. decent thing that could have been done was place him on a table ... like i said .. i am far than impressed .. i expected more ... been there several times with my son's pets and the service was professional and humane ... to a point .. having a 250$ operation on a dwarf hamster, they should have better dealt with it when explaining the pros and cons ... but hey ... MONEY MONEY MONEY !!!! .. no clue why they thought that my beloved pet should die on a ceramic floor... not going to go there anytime soon

I saw Dre Cournoyer Rodrigue in emergency for my boston terrier dog. she took great care of him. They did an emergency surgery in the evening. Expensive but my doggy is fine now.

Overall good experience for emergency. The staff was nice and the waiting time was reasonable considering my dog needed an emergency check at 10 PM. The price is on the higher side, however, taking into consideration the 24/7 emergency walk-in and that all vets clinics were close after 8-9 PM, it was an understandable price for us.

Poor customer service! I went with my guinea pig and a non-specialist saw my pet and tried to charge me money! Even the customer service coordinator didn't do her job of serving the customer and listening to my concerns. ALL IT WAS ABOUT WAS MONEY. Don't go there, I don't recommend.

Came in with my dog he had severe allergies, they said it would take 20 minutes to give him 2 vaccines, I ended up waiting 2 hours and they wouldn't even let me see him. When I asked them what they are doing with him they were unable to answer. They would not explain to me what is happening except the fact that he's in a room with a vet. Terrible service. Would not recommend. Ever.

I have took yesterday my love bird there. Because we taught he had animal lice. And they give him some medications . And the unprofessional doctor and team said that he has incarnate feather. Cost 400$ . And they give us a prescription. we give him this morning and he fell asleep and never weak up and we see he is dead. So they have give wrong diagnostic and wrong medications that kill my bird.. killers we had him for 9 years. And it took u guy's one checkup to kill him.,????????????????????????????????????????????????

We take him in the evening to the Laval clinic in the emergency room. After a mixed reception at reception, we waited an hour before seeing a technician who told us that she was going to watch my rabbit. She asks me what my animal has, I explain to her that the eyes are abnormally bulging and that this is not my first dwarf rabbit and that it does not look correct. She takes it and 10 minutes later comes back to us saying that there was no problem, that her vital signs were normal as well as her eyes and that basically my presence in the emergency room was not necessary. I insist on seeing a vet and she tells me there is a 10:00 am wait and come back the next day. My husband and I were very unimpressed with the front desk service and the technician. They at least had the courtesy of not charging us. Unconvinced of the diagnosis, the next day I called the veterinary hospital for birds and exotic animals on Sherbrooke Street in Montreal. Quite another service. After an x-ray, they diagnosed a thymoma (tumor in the chest) which constricts the blood vessels and causes the eyes to bulge abnormally. My dwarf rabbit was in the terminal stage, the tumor being very large. Palliative medications have been prescribed to me to relieve the pain and give it some time to live before planning euthanasia. Luckily, the technician at the Laval emergency clinic told us that everything was fine ... (Original) Dois-je vraiment mettre une étoile??? Le dimanche 7 novembre, je remarque que mon lapin nain a un problème au niveau de ses yeux (sortaient anormalement de ses orbites). Nous l'emmenons le soir à la clinique de Laval aux urgences. Après un accueil mitigé à la réception, une attente d'une heure avant de voir une technicienne qui nous dit qu'elle va regarder mon lapin. Elle me demande ce que mon animal a, je lui explique que les yeux sont anormalement exorbités et que ce n'est pas mon premier lapin nain et que cela ne semble pas correct. Elle le prend et 10 min après nous revient en disant qu'il n'y avait aucun problème, que ses signes vitaux était normaux ainsi que ses yeux et qu'en gros ma présence aux urgences n'était pas nécessaire. J'insiste pour voir un vétérinaire et elle me dit qu'il y a 10h00 d'attente et de revenir le lendemain. Mon mari et moi-même avons été très peu impressionnés par le service à la réception et par la technicienne. Ils ont au moins eu la courtoisie de ne pas nous faire payer. Peu convaincue du diagnostique, j'ai appelé le lendemain l'hôpital vétérinaire pour oiseaux et animaux exotiques de la rue Sherbrooke à Montréal. Tout un autre service. Après une radiographie, ils ont diagnostiqué un thymome (tumeur au niveau du thorax) qui comprime les vaisseaux sanguins et fait que les yeux sont anormalement exorbités. Mon lapin nain était en stade terminal, la tumeur étant très grande. Des médicaments palliatifs m'ont été prescrits pour soulager la douleur et lui donner quelque temps à vivre avant de planifier une euthanasie. Une chance que la technicienne de la clinique urgentiste de Laval nous a dit que tout allait bien...

They misdiagnosed my puppy saying hehas cataracts ... how can a little new born puppy have cataracts and forced me to do surgery on him at 3 months old for 6,000$ this is inhuman and people need to know how disgusting this business is. They said if i did not do surgery immediately he would go blind. How dare you put my puppy at risk and do surgery at such a tender age. I went to several other clinics a year later as i did not trust this place at all and they told me my little puppy was super healthy and had no such thing as cataracts. I was leaving Vaudreuil so before moving I called to find out if they had room and I was told that yes and that it cost $ 218 + tx for the consultation because it is a Sunday (so in therefore it's theft, since they're supposedly open 24/7 anyway, there should be no extra premium for Sunday). I introduced myself and checked in with the receptionist and was asked to go and wait in my car, which I did for over 2.5 hours before someone called me for "triage". Then I went back to my car to wait for 1 hour 30 minutes and then I got sick and walked home without my dog having received any treatment. They finally called me 6am after I showed up to tell me that they were finally ready to pass us by. So they are very quick to want to load a large amount but very slow to provide care. Also when they called me after 6 hours of waiting and I expressed my dissatisfaction it was the festival of apologies and "we cannot be held responsible for this and that" etc ... if I would have stayed I would have waited 6 hours in my car before my dog could finally receive treatment but the only thing that matters to them is to charge up and make excuses for their poor customer service. My dog is ok now, but not because of them. (Original) Mon chien n'a pas réussi à recevoir de soins donc mon commentaire n'est pas sur la qualité du service médical. Je partais de Vaudreuil donc avant de me déplacer j'ai appelé pour savoir si ils avaient de la place et on m'a dit que oui et que ça coûtait 218 $ +tx pour la consultation parce que c'est un Dimanche (donc en partant c'est du vol, puisqu'ils supposément ouvert 24/7 de toute façon, il ne devrait pas y avoir de surprime pour le Dimanche). Je me suis présenté et enregistré avec la réceptionniste et on m'a demandé d'aller attendre dans mon auto, ce que j'ai fait pendant plus de 2 h 30 avant que quelqu'un m'appelle pour le "triage". Ensuite je suis retourné attendre dans mon auto pendant 1 h30 et puis je me je suis écœuré et je suis retourné à la maison sans que mon chien ait reçu de soins. Ils m'ont finalement appelé 6 h après le moment où je me suis présenté pour me dire qu'ils étaient finalement prêt à nous passer. Donc ils sont très rapide à vouloir charger un gros montant mais très peu rapide à prodiguer des soins. De plus quand ils m'ont appelé après 6 h d'attente et que j'ai signifié mon insatisfaction c'était le festival des excuses et des "nous ne pouvons pas être tenu responsable de ceci et de cela" etc... si j'étais resté j'aurais attendu pendant 6 h dans mon auto avant que mon chien puisse finalement recevoir des soins mais la seule chose qui leurs importe c'est de charger la totale et de trouver des excuses pour leur médiocre service à la clientèle. Mon chien est ok maintenant, mais pas grâce à eux.

Brought my little puppy of 4 months that was vomitting and had diarrhea and wasn’t eating. She had low blood sugar so I was told that she would need to spend a night there for treatment. Was told that she was doing fine and was eating and everything look to be normal again. Then the next day i received a call stating that she was in cardiac arrest or respitory arrest because she vomitted again and some got into her lungs but that they didn’t understand why she was vomitting again since the parvovirus was negative on the test and that she had a great night and even that morning that she was doing well. Well my guess is that they weren’t monitoring her well enough and that she probably vomit and being a little puppy couldn’t move away from it and inhale the vomit and choke to death. I went to that emergency hospital since in the morning to get to the closest DMV would be horrible because of traffic. But will never go back there again. My puppy died and left with a bill of 1550$. Was told by the vet that she will come see me to talk about what happened when I will be there to see for the last time my puppy but never saw her. No comforting words by anyone working there. The DMV have better services and know how to talk to the people that considered they pet their babies. I really believe that they didn’t do their job properly and result in the passing of my little baby.

Il est 19 h. La veille d'un congé férié. Je suis retournée chez moi avec mon chat non traité. Aujourd'hui, Fête du Canada, les cliniques vétérinaires sont fermées. They care about your money and little about your pets! They will refuse to take 5 minutes to speak to you without charging you as we discovered this sunday. This after consulting with our dog several times and paying several hundreds of dollars. My husband and i stopped in with a question and were told the veterinarian would not come out and see us unless we paid a fee!! We will never go back. AVOID them if you can. Their veterinarians have lost or never had perhaps a love for animals clearly!

The doctors did an amazing job at providing the best care for our dog. He arrived in critical condition and the outlook wasn't very promising but after a couple of days he's back home and back to normal. The only reason I can't give five stars is because of the personnel they have at the reception. When we arrived the person behind the counter told us, without even looking at our dog, that the wait time would be over two hours. Our dog was very ill and she didn't examine nor assessed his state. Triage must be done by a professional, not by a receptionist. Thankfully a technician saw us and passed us right in to be seen by a veterinarian. It's a shame that such a good hospital allows untrained professionals to make life and death decisions. Not to mention the lack of empathy she showed.

Whenever I have an emergency with any of my pets, they take me in sameday without any problems. Place is clean, staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. They are bilingual as well so your experience can be more pleasant. It is however about a 2 hour wait but that includes registring, consulted by a Vet and waiting for test if any. Recently moving to Montreal, our 9 year old lop ear passed Dec, 20th and we were recommended to the Exotic Animal and Bird Vet on Rue Sherbrooke. When our little Lionhead Dalek showed signs of illness the middle of Feb we instantly called there as it's in our neighbourhood and showed great respect with our Lop. They were at capacity and recommended the Veterinary Centre Laval. The staff and vets at the Veterinary Centre were incredible with our emergency. Upon entering you feel as if it's a proper hospital. It is in pristine condition and a large facility equipped with the best. They treated our case with much compassion and respect. With love and comfort they helped us allow our Dalek cross the Rainbow Bridge to be with his older fur brother. I can't thank them enough for their dedication and passion for their career.

Beautiful clinic that is well kept and clean. Offers a large waiting area and services to all different animal companions. Staff is very friendly, however they are slow on getting because to their messages if you miss a call. Don't expect to get a call back right away. A week is what you'll expect. Their phone lines are always busy and it is difficult to get to a real person to talk to. For emergency I would recommend this over the DMV, but for the price go to a smaller clinic who can do what you need.

If I can put zero stars I would. The staff was warm and friendly but because of one vet Kim Langlois the whole experience went down the drain. I left my cat at the clinic for an overnight stay for him to get scans, exams etc... The next day his health decreased dramatically. Dre Cobrin had a chat with me on the phone to let me know that he was not doing well and that I should go see him. Dre Allison Cobrin is excellent by the way and I can’t thank her enough for her honesty. When I went to see him it was obvious that he was not going to make it. I wanted to bring him home for our last goodbye and have him euthanized the next day. But this money hungry “ KIM LANGLOIS” tried to convince me to put him through more exams. When I decided not to go ahead with her stupid suggestions, she accused me of cruelty against animals. This incompetent veterinary is a malefactor and should have her license revoked. The center is blessed with a vet like Dre Allison Cobrin & damn with a useless crook which is Kim Langlois. If I had a recording of our conversation I would’ve sued the clinic no matter how much it would’ve cost.

I brought my cat at 9pm with a fever and I waited in the parking until 1 am before they called me to tell me they were seeing every other animal before mine.. my cat became worse, I paid 3000$, not a single checkup or eco. I waited until next day in the morning and they called to say that her infection has spread and did an echo fast fast and my cat ended up dead... unprofessional, the vet was giving me attitude on the phone, they didn’t even save my cat or even attempt to do anything when it was still alive and the day after when it became a vegetable they tell me she’s not stable enough to get an echo... also they told me that if I wanted surgery it would be 8-12,000$ after I paid 3000$ for nothing... if you want my advice go to a private vet

The vets and technicians are excellent at their job. Two star review because the clinic is disorganized. Twice I was scheduled for an appointment when the vet was on vacation. Additionally, I asked them to send over an insurance claim and they responded confirming they had. I only found out two months later that they did not. Upon following up, I was told they do not send claims and it was my responsibility, despite the fact that I have written confirmation from CVL that my insurance claim had been sent over. Wish I had been told sooner if that was their actual policy. Very unprofessional to say you have completed a task when you have not. ***EDIT*** CVL, thank you for the response to my review. Terrible vets! My dog was in labour and had some difficulties. We rushed her to the emergency room. For the consultation the vet took my dog into a separate room and said that “my presence will only make my dog too nervous”. I asked on many occasions to enter and see my dog, but the vet always refused. They kept my dog in there for up to 2 hours and said that the pup’s heart beat was slow and she “tried” to take the pup out but it was impossible (the pup was already crowning before we left for the hospital!). The “vet” then said that my only option was for my dog to undergo a c-section that costs 3000$ + 300$ of other medical fees. Hours later, I brought my dog to my regular vet and he gave her a shot of calcium and oxytocin to induce labour . My dog then gave a NATURAL birth to a VERY HEALTHY AND VERY MUCH ALIVE PUPPY. Both mother and pups are very healthy and happy. TERRIBLE CONSULTATION! The vets at CVL do not care about our pets, they only care about the money! DO NOT IN ANY CASE GO HERE! ** My visit was on the morning of January 15 at 5AM. You WILL be able to find my visit in your files.

Oui c'est cher, mais les urgences de nuit sont rares pour nos animaux et en adoptant un animal il faut s'attendre à ce que ces situations se produisent. Si les gens ne sont pas prêts à accepter ce fait et les coûts attachés, n'adopter pas d'animaux. En aucuns temps on a sentis une pression du personnel d'accepter les traitements et leurs coûts. On obtient l'heure juste rapidement et le choix nous appartient. Ils se sont occupés de notre chat comme si c'était leur propre animal. Très satisfait! Et les voir courir à l'entrer pour prendre en charge une dame en larme avec son chien visiblement très mal en point fût toute une scène à voir. Pros : Mostly well qualified and friendly vets and techs. Good hygiene protocols in place. Efficient pieces of hospital technology. Techs will demonstrate the "how to" and explain thoroughly and clearly how to execute ensuing home treatments. Mostly professional, knowledgeable and helpful medical staff. Exotic animals/reptiles can be treated here. Cons : Unnecessary exams are sometimes suggested. Minor problems can be treated as life-threatening emergencies, exploiting the customer's ignorance and anxiety. Very Pricey (Keep in mind that owning a pet is a luxury, not a right hence Vet bills are rarely cheap and often even over-priced. Something to think about before owning a pet (unless you are a vet lol, have one in the family or know one that is affordable while still competent). Arrogant and rude receptionists both on the phone and in person, so much so that it makes you want to turn away as soon as they "greet" you.

After a 5:00 am emergency with my cat that was throwing up and a 800$ bill plus 20$ for food,the vet said that the x rays did not show any foreign object in her stomach,but a 5k operation would be important to really be sure.Just wanted to say,it's easy for vets to play with customers heart strings,they know how much we love our pets,like members of the family,but maybe a little compassion would be nice,i know you have to pay for employees and your beautiful installations,but is 5k for an operation is not just to much? So finnaly we did not agree to the operation and 2 days later after not giving my cat the the meds that made her sleep all the time,well Daisy is 100% better. Was it luck or just a missed call fom the vet. So Daisy is fine and i have 5k in the bank.

Very quick service. What's most appreciated is the lack of BS tests. We were told to give our dog medicine, if he didn't get better bring him in for an echo scan, no other BS. We appreciate the effectiveness and speed with which our dog was treated. The staff were nice and very perceptive. I was reassured when I saw one of the nurses rush towards a dog at the back of the queue that was very faintly shaking. Overall would recommend for emergency treatment. Update 2.0: Having now brought our dog in for a second time, I must say that the first experience was no exception. Our dog was examined and we weren't even charged. Those who are writing about unnecessary treatments surely must be doing something differently. The verdict hasn't changed. This is a fantastic clinic that I would recommend to anyone who needs to have their pet treated.

The only vet hospital offering emergency care for exotic animals, namely birds, is housed on a major highway outside of Montreal in a building that looks like it was once a car dealership. Practically inaccessible if you don't have a car. I didn't want to pursue the measures they assigned, which included invasive tests and medications I don't trust, so I was be made to sign a waiver form to release them from responsibility. I paid hundreds of dollars for the visit and took home meds (that cost twice as much as what the vet told me) without training as to how to administer them. I called with questions the next day and waited 60 minutes to speak to someone. The recorded message says that due to an unexpected volume of calls, the wait will be longer than usual. But I called three times more in the next three days and that message never changed, no matter the day or time I called. They are always too busy to answer you. I was told that a vet would call me. For an entire day, no one called. At that time I had a critically ill bird. Would a responsible vet not call back right away? I called again — by this time my bird was dead — and waited another 60 minutes on the phone, even at 11pm. I was met with expediency and self-justifying complacency. They refused to answer general questions that I would ask any vet, because I did not follow their recommendations. My experience, even as a pet owner, does not matter. I am expected to wait, obey, and pay. An extremely unpleasant experience for me all around. This is a commercial venture, a money-making business, with no heart, that feeds on the desperation of pet owners who will give anything to get their animals treated. I will not have another animal, just so that I never have to set foot in this place again. Or until there is an alternative.

My cat has been seeing Dr Touret in oncology for a little over a year now. I can not say enough great things about her! She always takes the time to answer all my questions, takes budget in consideration, she answers her emails very quickly and always gives great recommendations. Her technician is also very lovely. Bring my cat there last Tuesday night. Jolie was crying, respiring very often, has lost half of her weight. They asked us to do a complete blood test. After the test, said Jolie has diabetes, it will cost 2000$ - 3000$ just to stabilize the poor cat. And probably will not work. Due to their recommendation, we chose to euthanize Jolie. However, since this night I am thinking about everything. Feel that the clinic was very pushy on prices. We were able to save our cat if they asked reasonable prices. I don't know what kind of patient's owners they are targeting. But, it is sure, not the middle class. Who is like me with a bachelor degree. I have a good salary, but cannot pay 2000-3000$ for stabilizing my cat. Stabilizing means give her a perfusion of fluids for 24 hours. Why 2000-3000$ for this. For humans it cost less.

We had a great experience with these vets. We brought our newly adopted dog in during emergency hours. They were very loving and kind with him. They treated him for his illness and called us back a few days later to check in on him. The vet technicians answered my question over the phone when we had a problem with his medication and the issue was cleared up right away. I love the fact that they are open 24 hours and that you can reach a technician at any time. As brand new dog owners we were very worried about our dog, but everyone at this hospital is incredibly helpful. We are definitely going to stick with them as our full time vet. And would like to say a special thank you to doctor Hugo from Odis and Family.

My rabbit was very ill and the team from the exotics department did a great job at diagnosing and treating her. It wasn't cheap... but they're very thorough, knowledgeable, approachable, up front with the costs involved and most of all, they love animals. They always called or e-mailed for follow ups and offer cheaper alternatives when I was tight on money. I would definitely recommend Dr. Macolini and Dre. Hébert and their team. The comment regarding the terrible service at the reception are valid though. I try to deal with the vet or the technicians at all times...

Veterinarians and staff were overall professional and kind. However, at times it felt like we were being pushed to do more and more unnecessary tests. It at times felt like the place/administration was more focused on money and making sales than the animals’ well-being . I had to stop them a few times and ask them to be sincere, what was in the best interest of my dog, what difference would the test make in regards to my dog’s health and quality of life. I recommend in case of emergency only, but don’t be afraid to ask questions, to make them slow down and to say no.

La prise en main de l'animal en arrivant à l'hôpital est très rapide. Il faut bien leur donner une étoile pour ça. Ensuite ça se dégrade. Nous avons amené notre animal qui a été vu rapidement, on nous a vendu un traitement d'inhalation et des médicaments pour 2 semaines, et au retour à la maison, notre animal est mort quelques minutes après... Quand on ose charger 250$ seulement pour que l'animal soit vu par le vétérinaire, ça amène naturellement un certain niveau d'attentes de la part du client. À 250$, je pense qu'on est en droit de s'attendre à un diagnostique plus précis, au minimum. Si l'animal est très mal en point et qu'il en est à ses dernières heures, on veut le savoir. On paye 250$ pour ça. On ne veut pas se faire vendre un faux espoir en plus.

A cause de cette consultation en urgence mal diagnostiquée l'accident de mon animal n'a pas été pris en charge à temps et ce dernier a des séquelles qui atteignent sa mobilité qu'il gardera à vie. To the one one-star reviewer: I understand you’re grieving the loss of your cat and blaming the vet is the easiest reaction right now, but what you’re saying is REALLY unfair. Canada has a government funded health care system that is ubiquitous throughout the southern parts of the country, while Veterinary medicine is a specialization which operates solely in the private sector. Veterinary medicine doesn’t get the type of funding human medicine receives because in most cases, human lives are valued above an animal’s. The tests have to be outsourced to a private lab too which is why they get the results within a day or two, much faster than any blood test I’ve had done in the public (human) sector. When people choose to accept an animal into their care, they need to consider the financial implications.There are pamphlets at CV Laval on pet insurance in case you have other pets. This should protect you from the financial strain that any future emergencies might cost you. On the topic of your status, I too am middle-class. I don’t have a bachelors degree however, because I am a University student (and paying out of pocket) with only part-time work. I have 3 cats (2 strays I took in and 1 rescue) and 2 remaining rats (also rescues). One of our cats just beat cancer (which indeed cost thousands of dollars). This is what it costs to treat a sick animal. It requires proper planning, a ton of research, and some credit cards, but it's doable. I have been to over 9 different vets in the last 5 years and CV Laval is well out of my way and the only place I will take my animals - ESPECIALLY my exotic ones. Ps. I took my dwarf hamster Lili here when I found she had developed a large tumor on her chest. They were able to take her right away for an analysis of the mass, and we scheduled a removal surgery at the beginning of the following week. She stayed there overnight before the surgery at no extra cost to me, and a night after for $130. They removed the mass and prescribed her a number of oral medications. Two weeks later and she is fully healed and back to her old self. I live downtown but it is worth the drive to Laval for this care. I trust them in taking good care of Lili and I am thankful to the specialists for their help.

I brought my rabbit on a Saturday for urgent treatment for symptoms of gastrointestinal stasis (an emergency in rabbits). We noticed a change in the size of the droppings that became small and the rabbit became weak, barely moving and not eating since the morning. The vet on call told us that he has never seen such an old and sick rabbit in his life and that his heart was weak. However, he offered no immediate help what so ever and showed no compassion. Instead, he presented us with a 1000$ bill of investigations to do if we wanted to save the rabbit's life. He did not even offer any medication to ease its discomfort (we had to ask for it) or to reduce its intestinal bloating. No attempt was made to rehydrate my rabbit even though I paid over 200$ for the visit. I brought my poor rabbit back home where it died in my arms a few hours later. My rabbit was 7 years old, sprayed, and never missed an annual check up. I always brought it for all minor problems such as a runny nose. The last check up was completely normal 4 months ago with some slowing down that was attributed to normal aging. According to them, nothing was amiss. Then, in the face of a real emergency, we did not get any basic help or even comfort treatment. So save your money on the vet bills at the CVL. Next time, I will go elsewhere or keep it for a new bunny.

My darling cat had to go through a very heavy mouth surgery and had to be hospitalized just after. They then released him without even checking his mouth again before he left, to see if everything was okay. So the problem repeated itself at home. We brought him back so many times... They ended up saying he had inflammation but couldn't figure out why. That's one thing. The prices are just extraordinarily high. The fact that they use your emotional vulnerability and love for your animal to make so much money is despicable to me. Nothing was ever solved after having given them thousands of dollars. My cat had eventually had to be euthanized and the technicians and receptionists were awful and cold. No one, except the veterinarian who euthanized my cat, even offered their sympathy or condolences to my husband when he was there with our baby and crying. They did not when I called afterwards to arrange the cremation. The woman showed no empathy at all. All they care about is money. It's not a hospital, it's a business company. And it's awful. Not to mention they gave me so many different answers each time I called and always gave me misleading information. They seem to be very disconnected and lost. It was a traumatizing and awful experience for us and our cat... I hope others will have better memories...

If they don't see a way to help your companion. They will simply charge you whatever money they can while you're in distress. They wouldn't even give me back my dying animal unless I paid then and there, during her final moments when they finally told me there was nothing to be done. (I had already paid over 2000$ for a tooth trimming they called a surgery, but they wanted an additional 100$ for a checkup after "surgery" where they did nothing but tell me she was dying soon, but if I wanted her back, I'd have to pay even more... This isn't even half of it... Avoid this place if you can.

Our cat had side effects from the meds this clinic gave him, which are clearly stated by the company that makes this medication. But the vet said there are no side effects... Instead of trying to rehydrate him they gave us the option to operate him (due to the side effects) or put him to sleep. He was a healthy cat until they gave him antibiotics, and instead of trying to rehydrate him, he has to die. He could have been allergic to the meds, but they didn’t try anything or give any advice how to feed or hydrate him. My friend works at a vet and she told us that they should be hydrating him and feeding him with a feeding tube in his state. This clinic makes me sick and if you care about your pet you won’t bring them here. They only care about collecting your money. Just like that we lost our family member due to negligence. Reply to your comment: I don’t really care about you looking into the matter, or your generic reponse on the matter, as usual you are late to the party. My cat had to be put down because of your negligence, it was my parents who had to deal with your carelessness. Our cat had to slowly die and suffer for a week because you basically poisoned him and couldn’t be bothered to help. You have been reported to the vet board, and it seems that we are not the only ones who had to deal with this regarding your services. We had a very bad experience with another of our cats here a few years ago and were hesitant to return. Too bad we did, we have now educated ourselves on other emergency vet clinics as other options. After spending hundreds of dollars on medication for my bird I was told she has to stay there overnight and I would get a follow up call to update me. I’ve been by my phone all day; no call! Horrible clinic. They only care about getting paid. Brought my dog in who was having puppies and went into complications, was told they can't do anything untill I pay even if that mean the puppies may die. Once I managed to arrange the cash they told me I have to wait u till the surgeon is ready wich can take a few hrs,knowing that the puppies are in critical condition. At which point I started to call other vets to see if I can take my dog there and all of a sudden they said oh you don't need to go anywhere you dog is priority and we will operate on her right away. Then during the operation they sterilized my dog with out my concent. They're explication to this was oh well that's how our procedure works. I'm disappointed and disgust with the vets at this clinic. Zero humanity, only selfishness. Please do not go here if you love your animals.

I have been to this veterinary center for 2 cats and a dog and they have never in any way cared much. "We can try this pill and this. Calls us back to let us know if it worked." Very bad experience. My dog had a seisure while they were trying to do an Ultrasound to verify why her liver seemed blocked. She walked in and I had to carry her out wimpering because she was in great pain. They said it would take 45 to 60 minutes and that I could go for a coffee. Since I hadn't eaten since early morning and it was already past 2pm, I went to McDonald's a couple of buildings away. I had just started eating when my cell phone rang. I was told the Vet wanted to talk to me ASAP. I had to through out my food since the only one person at the cash and she had a lineup of customers, I just rushed back to the hospital. I waited 40 minutes before she came to talk to me, just to be told that it would cost an extra $75.00 for me to speak to the vet and that is on top of the $774 I had to pay for the procedures. Then I was told she had a seisure. My dog never had a seisure before that and she was so sick afterwards that she was unable to stand, her hind legs just crumbled and she was in great pain. She was found on the Metropolitan Highway and I adopted her and saved her life 4 years ago. She might still be alive right now if I hadn't agreed to the Ultrasound aND biopsythe. She must have been so scared with all those strangers manipulating and forcing her. They had to sedate her because she was moving too much, and couldn't do the tests. She was such a good girl and so gentle. Too young to have died at 5 years old. I loved her and miss her so much.

When I arrived they made me sit down with my rabbit .. a technician would send her back after a good delay. I'm worried about my rabbit .. his leg is probably breaking and it's been an hour of pain back with no painkiller. So let's see ... mediocre animal welfare for real. After another good 30 mins the vet comes to see me in the waiting room to tell me his vital signs are correct and that he is not in great pain. It doesn't matter if he's 1 or 10 on his wrong pain scale to relax and heal him the same. We pay $ 300 for a veterinary center to treat an emergency on his animal and after an hour and a half person took care of him. I am speechless I just can't believe it. After we do the x-rays and she tells me that as it is urgently necessary to see a professional in exotic because she does not see any fracture that there is a problem which she cannot really be sure that it is not her specialty. On the other hand, I have to pay the big price for a diagnosis which I do not have .. I have to leave it in the hospital for it to reassess it but it charges me a consultation with the other exotic doctor. This is because I have already paid nearly $ 300 to have it evaluated, I did not have the full service they tell me I must wait for another ... but he charges me another $ 200 (board and evaluation from the other department) it's ridiculous sincerely I shouldn't have to pay 2x for the same service that was not done the first time. My little bunny stayed less than 12 hours to make me call and tell me that he has nothing to do. He has a birth problem and his condition will unfortunately just deteriorate but he can still have a quality of life. So for a few painkillers, a lot of anxiety for me, suffering for my animal and in addition with a good 5:00 pounding in the waiting room its costing me $ 639 ... no its unacceptable. I love my animals, I will pay for the service without a problem, but it has to be adequate and this honestly is my worst experience ever with a veterinary clinic. I do rabbit rescue and often pay for emergency services. I don't know what has been going on with your center for some time, but it is completely rubbish. You no longer have animal welfare as a priority, which should be the opposite. You are really on a downward slope for your quality of care and I am extremely extremely disappointed to have had to pay so much in such a difficult time for internal file transfers .. let's see I pay more for your documentation than for the service on my animal .. this is clearly not normal and you should start thinking again about your first goal which should be the animals. Par contre, jai payer le gros prix pour un diagnostic que je nai pas.. je dois le laisser a lhopital pour quil le réevalue mais il me recharge une consultation avec lautre médecin en exotique. Cest parceque jai deja payer pres de 300 $ pour le faire évalué, je nai pas eu le service complet on me dit je dois attendre un autre ... mais il me recharge un autre 200$ ( pension et evaluation de lautre département) cest ridicule sincèrement je ne devrais pas a payer 2x pour le même service qui na pas été faite la première fois. Mon petit lapin est rester moins de de 12h pour me faire appeler et me dire quil na rien a faire. Il a un problème de naissance et sa condition va juste se dégrader malheureusement mais quil peu encore avoir une qualité de vie. Vous n'avez plus le bien etre animal en priorité ce qui devrais être le contraire. Vous êtes vraiment en pente descendante pour vos qualité de soin et je suis extrêmement extrêmement déçu davoir du payer aussi cher dans un moment aussi difficile pour des transferts de dossier a l'interne.. voyons jai payer plus vos documentations que le service sur mon animal.. ce nest clairement pas normal et vous devriez recommencer à penser à votre but premier qui devrais être les animaux.

I brought my cat in on Tuesday night because he was having difficulty breathing. The night shift Vet was by far the most unpleasant veterinarian my husband and I ever dealt with. She wasn't warm or friendly, nor was she empathetic. All the veterinarian doctors there pressure you into taking all these tests, even when the prognosis is OBVIOUS! I knew he had water in his lungs again, which they later confirmed. At my first encounter with the Vet when we first brought him in, knowing that my cat was old and suffering from heart failure, I asked her if it was worth it dragging it out because I didn't want him to suffer anymore. WITHOUT even looking at his file from his regular Veterinarian or doing tests, she immediately says no she didn't think he was nearing his end yet. Well guess what?!?! He died last night in our home and we paid over $1300.00 for NOTHING! I should have listened to my mom when she said she hated that place and that they rip people off because they clearly do!!!! *Note to the owner: Don't bother posting a reply to save face unless you want to do the right thing and offer me a refund.

Nous avons été peiné de devoir le quitter pour devoir remplir les papiers de la facture de l'euthanasie. Nous voulions être à ses côtés chaque secondes de sa fin de vie. Mais on a dû le laisser à la technicienne pour poser un cathéter. Nous disions non... on ne le quitte pas, mais ont se fait dire vous avez pas le choix! Elle nous dit maximum 2 minutes et vous pourrez le rejoindre. Remplir tout ca à pris au bas mots 10 minutes, nous demandant aussi les types d'incinération et le poids etc.. pendant ce temps qui nous a paru interminable, il était probablement stressé, anxieux, avec des gens inconnus à ses yeux..... la raison qui nous a été donné : protocole de Covid.... je comprends pas pourquoi 1 seul de nous ne pouvait rester avec lui pour 1 cathéter ? Nous aurions aimé avoir plus d'explications pour comprendre .... Je dois mentionner que la vétérinaire à démontré de l'empathie et sur se point , je donnerais 5 étoiles. Bref... la facture passait en premier, même avant le stress de notre chien. Je n'ai pas apprécié ce côté du tout. Nous avons déjà fait euthanasié un autre de nos chiens ailleurs.... Nous n'avons jamais vécu situation semblable. Le deuil étant extrêmement difficile ... je crois que de rajouter ce genre d'émotions en plus n'est pas nécessaire.

Had to go there for an emergency (it was the closest 24/7 veterinarian). Our dog needed an "apparently" standard operation with almost a 100% chances of complete remission (Or so we were told. We have yet to decide if it was true or if they only wanted us to pay an extra bill.) Yet, despite all the supposedly excellent odds, our dog died while in their care from what I can only describe like a negligent action that could have been easily avoided. You should at all costs avoid this clinic. I'm serious. They shamelessly increased our bill without EVER asking us first, telling us after a few days that the bill was already $2,000 over the amount we approved 2 days earlier. They made a mistake which has cost the life of our beloved dog and then, took the liberty to increase the bill. Won't ever go back. Edit : Go check their Facebook page. They do not let people review their clinic while other clinics, like DMV, let people review their services. It says a lot. Many of the bad reviews here match my experience with them, which means they have some sort of modus operandi. Finally, (I feel it's important to add this) I forgot to write in my previous review that the day my dog died, I told the CVL that I was taking him home. I visited the CVL in the morning to make sure my dog was alright, told the veterinarian I was planning on coming later to take my dog home. I left to go get things to take care of my dog and I received a call saying my dog was dying so we had to do other treatments ($$$$$) and therefore, he could not leave the place. He died later.

Night of Service: September 3rd, 2020 Unfortunately, we had an emergency early September - my cat choked on a bone. We live in Rivière des Prairies which is about 30 minutes away from the clinic, making it very difficult to save her. By the time we left, it was about 50+ minutes the cat was choking and she stopped moving and was lifeless in the car for the last 10 minutes. In the car ride, we called your clinic and waiting 15-20 minutes on the phone just to speak with someone and only to be informed that there was nothing we can do. When in reality, we did our research after the fact and found countless ways to relieve her. Upon arrival, we mentioned that she wasn’t responsive to your staff, for the last 10-15 minutes. The veterinarian that night said there was a chance to save her when in reality our cat was dead for the last ten minutes. After 5 minutes of “resuscitating” my cat (who was lifeless), he pronounced her dead. He claimed he would have done us a service and reduce the cost, because of course there wasn’t much to be done anyways since my cat was dead. He charged us the max price for this service, $700 and made us wait 1 hour to see the cat - so he did not keep his word for this. We had to ask the receptionist countless times why it was taking so long. They had forgotten we were there. Please see below the invoice of the visit. The next day, we felt taken advantage of as family - we would have appreciated the vetenarian telling us that there was barely any hope than giving us FALSE hope and taking our money. This is only half of the story. We decided to get our cat cremated. They said that her urn would be ready in 2 weeks, which would be September 17. Between September 3rd and 17th, there was no follow up. We emailed countless times, after the 17th, and no reply from your customer service agents/receptionists. We were panicking of course because it was now September 30th and no feedback. Not to mention, we called SEVERAL times to get a different response every time. When finally on the 30th in the evening, we are informed that your system has been HACKED (which you were aware about on September 11th) and that your clinic has no idea where my cats urn is. Before this information was given to us, all we got was excuses from your staff: - “our system got hacked“ - “our colleague that was taking care of this was sick” - “it’s not our responsibility- it’s the cremation” Not even a single appology or taking any ACCOUNTABILITY. Absolutely unprofessional and terribly tragic. Do you understand what impact this has on a family? We did NOT sleep, I could not believe we could have never seen my cat again for the negligence of your company. Finally the next day, we called again and fell upon someone who informed us that our urn was ready since SEPTEMBER 17 and no one had contacted us to inform us. I have to say, I will never move forward with your services after this experience and I have shared this experience with friends and family. Your staff needs a serious coaching on how to communicate with clients because not only did it cost us financially, but it costed us a nights sleep and a roller coaster of emotions. I am so disappointed with this service, especially because we paid an EXTREMELY HIGH amount to be simply told our cat was dead. Our cat was essentially dead upon arrival and a little bit of human decency would have been appreciated instead of assigning us a price tag. To top it off, the receptionist gave me the Manager of customer experiences business card and the email is rejected because of an unknown error. Horrible experience.

I’ve had mixed experiences at this place. I’ve never had anyone rude to me, but my biggest complaint is really the prices. Does it really NEED to be this expensive ? The first time I went, a small cone for my dog cost 110$+ tax... it’s a piece of plastic .. I really really avoid going here. I only go when I have no choice because my vet is closed, but it’s really unfortunate to have such little options and I’ve never been there and paid less than 500$. It seems they don’t care or realize the impact and how many animal lives are lost or suffer because of their greed. I understand running 24/7 is costly, but it can’t be to the point of what they’re currently charging. Atleast 2x the prices of a regular veterinarian. The last time I went, I thought my dog might have bloat (which is very time sensitive and fatal) and I waited over two hours.

I went there because they said it was good even though pricey. I did not see a vet AT ALL, someone called on the phone while my cat was inside, first time offered an x-ray with interpretation. We accepted. After they called second time and quickly said they see something in her stomach, but not sure what this is. A surgery would cost 5 k. And when I was asking questions there was feeling of rush from the person on the phone - no empathy. Total comminication with a vet was 2 phone calls, 3 minutes each. In 2 days we went to a small clinic near us. They requested the x-ray interpretation from there. And there was NO interpretation... I personally never saw x-rays, no vet. Only a kind sypmathetic technician who returned me my cat. The rest of it is very disappointing and simply sad: I thought people become vets not just for money, but because they also love animals...

We had an emergency with our dog and came here.. after looking at the dog for a couple of minutes, they concluded our dog was high on marijuana... there is no marijuana anywhere in our household, we tried to explain this to the technician and there was no changing her mind... all they kept insisting was we keep him over night for $800 and then spend $300 for blood tests tomorrow... HOW CAN YOU CONCLUDE THAT MY DOG IS HIGH ON MARIJUANA IF YOU HAVE NOT TAKEN A BLOOD TEST!!!!!!!!!! To top if off, we were charged a $200 consultation fee, $200 to be told my dog is high. I will never trust this clinic with my dog ever again.

Last summer, my dog got an infection in her salivary glands. The vet kept pushing for a surgery that would cost $3000+, and I refused because she JUST got surgery in July of that year. They kept pushing for expensive medical services that were not necessary. I instead just asked for antibiotics, and the infection went away after a day. I get that this is a business, but there should be limits to greed sometimes.

The vets are amazing but wow the receptionists are just terrible. Worst customer service I've ever gotten in a long time. She charged me 250$ extra on my bill. And trust me the bill was already very high. Thank god the technician came to the rescue and told the receptionist that she's not supposed to charged us that extra.

I had a terrible experience, they are insensitive and not qualified, they are concerned more about money than the well being of the animal. No bedside manners and overpriced. There are much better and honest vet's out there that deserve support. My options were to put my dog down or do an emergency operation as I was told she would not make it through the night (She is 16 years old). That was 3 months ago and she is still alive. The vet expected me to put my dog down like she is a car, no compassion. Had I done the operation she would have died on the table. Took her to another vet and there was no mention of an operation or putting her down. Than they took 30 min after I declined the operation to return her to me and they kept her in the cage in the back until they had "time" to give her to me. The dog had 1 day to live according to them and they took 30 min to return her to me after I asked repeatedly for her to be brought to me (WANTED TO SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS POSSIBLE WITH HER SINCE SHE HAD 1 DAY TO LIVE ACCORDING TO THE UNQUALIFIED VET). I was crying and upset, no one cared, business as usual, it didn't matter that I was upset or that the poor 16 year old dog was trembling back there. The receptionist than attacked me for getting upset at the delay. Low mentality/ zero empathy. THEY ARE DISGUSTING. VERY SAD WHEN MONEY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN LIFE. PLEASE BOYCOTT

I recently visited LVC this following week because my dog wasn't well. The service was very quick and the vet was very informative. Unfortunately, I had to put my dog down due to complications he was having, but the vet was very patient with me, she explained all of his issues, and reassured me the entire time that it was the best decision for my dog. I saw a few comments of people mentioning that the vet is expensive. Yes, it cost me a bit more than I expected but I don't believe it's a place that just wants your money. If the vet really wanted my money, she would've encouraged me to spend triple what I spent to make my dog do tests to end up with the same results in the end. She was actually very honest with me that putting my dog was the right decision because he was going to suffer regardless. In my experience, they were really good and professional and if I have future pets that need emergency care, I would go back.

I would not recommend this place for emergencies, very bad customer experience. My vet was worried about my dog's situation (extreme diarrhea) and recommended me getting an appointment at their clinic, since the earliest she could give me was 4 days from now. So I talked to a girl on the phone - she barely let me talk, was EXTREMELY rude and condescending, and just diagnosed my dog in 30 seconds saying there was nothing to freak out about. Just don't treat customers reaching out to you for help when their pet needs care like that.

NEVER call these people on an emergency-- THEY ARE UNRELIABLE. We lost our pet cockatiel who's only two years old just 15 minutes after we tried to call a professional from this place. Awful service. I tried to take an appointment in this place, but the person in the phone is so mean and impolite, that I decided not to take it. If this is the person in the reception, I can't imagine how the attitude will be in more educated persons like the veterinaries. Extremely expensive, and zero availability for appointments. They only care about the money told me they could operate on my cat to remove his tumor but that it would cost over 2000$ we were able to get the small tumor removed for 135$ by our vet! They charged us 800 for a consult and biopsy wich is more the double the rate other places charge. Great veterinary hospital. The exotic vets are experienced and knowledgeable, they knew more than my usual exotic vet. Dr. Hébert was exeptionnal, she took the time to explain everything to me. She is one of the best vets I've seen in all my pet-owning years. Quick to get an appointment with her or other vets. I appreciated their follow-up calls, made me feel as if they truly cared about the animals. Althought, I was not a fan of the service of the weekend crew when I had to go in emergency, they lacked time. I highly recommend this hospital for your pet's needs.

Not impressed with their customer care, and their compassion towards animals and their humans. Due to covid they are not allowing people in with their animals. My dog was brought their specifically because her surgeon was there. She needed knee surgery and went for a consultation, she is nervous dog and the people working in the front were very cold and uncaring they put a leash on her and proceeded to drag her in, when I said watch her leg that’s why she’s here they continued to move her roughly. They weren’t very friendly to answering questions and concerns about our dog, both in person and on the phone, there was no follow up even though we left a message for someone to call. The only reason we are going there is for her surgeon, otherwise I will never bring my dog there again. Covid or not there’s a way to treat animals and their humans.

I brought my cat here today because he had difficulty breathing. I waited maybe one hour total but the entire staff was very involved. They made a huge effort to reassure me and make sure I was okay. They took amazing care of my cat. The prices are quite high but it’s an emergency vet so you have to expect that. They explained my options and were very matter of fact and professional in letting me know that I may have to consider euthanizing my cat. It’s such a sensitive topic and I was so scared and sad and I really appreciate the compassion they showed me.

(Translated) Very neglectful and expensive clinic, do not reccomend if you can go anywhere else! some description of my experience with them. Following an accident, I had to bring my chinchilla (Mirabel) urgently to the Laval Veterinary Center on the night of Wednesday, June 2. On site, my animal was taken care of by Dr. Rembeaux who had to perform an amputation of the left hind leg. Following the surgery, my animal remained under observation until June 4 due to the fact that it was not feeding on its own. Also, I was told not to know why his general condition was not improving. On June 4th, I made the decision to pick up my chinchilla and bring it home. On my way to pick her up I met the doctor on duty (Female). At this time, the left front leg where the catheter had been placed during the surgery was very swollen. The doctor assured me that this is not a concern and that the swelling should go away within 3 days and that she would be able to walk on her foot. I asked if it wasn't necessary to have a ruff to prevent my chinchilla from touching his wounds. The doctor on duty told me that it was not necessary. So I returned home with Mirabel, who was surely less stressed in her usual environment and started to eat again in the 24 hours that followed. So far, the amount disbursed is $ 3,143 (surgery, catheter, injections, nights and other treatments). In the days that followed, I saw no improvement in the front paw, during small movements of my chinchilla it was held on the wrist of its paw which had turned on itself. I also noticed a lack of fur around his paw due to Mirabel ripping it off. Tuesday, June 8, in the morning, I returned to the Laval Veterinary Center after calling them and advising of my return with Mirabel. There, I met Dr. Édouard Maccolini who after having examined my chinchilla told me that the incorrect placement of the catheter was the cause of the problem. According to him the catheter had been placed too tight on the paw which caused poor blood circulation and caused swelling. I then asked if it was not necessary to have a ruff in order to prevent Mirabel from continuing to pull out the hair. Dr. Maccolini told me that it was not necessary. prescribed some hydrotherapy exercises to be done in the form of small sessions of 10 minutes, 3 times a day. I was not charged any fees for this consultation since it was the result of poor practice during the surgery. However, I was charged $ 29 for the ointment. So I went home with Mirabel where that same evening I started hydrotherapy while continuing with other treatments. I would like to point out that there has not been a day since the incident of June 4 when I was not at home and I did not leave Mirabel alone for more than 3 consecutive hours but she ate her paw and died even though I was told she wouldn't. price 3400 $$$ + (Original) Very neglectful and expensive clinic, do not reccomend if you can go anywhere else! some description of my experience with them. La docteure m'a assurée que cela ne pose pas d’inquiétude et que l’enflure devrait disparaître dans les 3 jours à venir et qu’elle serait en état de marcher sur sa patte. J’ai demandé s’il n’était pas nécessaire d'avoir une collerette afin de prévenir que mon chinchilla ne touche pas à ses blessures. Le médecin de garde m'a affirmé que cela n’était pas nécessaire. Je suis donc rentrée chez moi avec Mirabel qui sûrement moins stressée dans son environnement habituel s'est remise à s'alimenter dans les 24h qui ont suivis. Jusqu'à présent, le montant déboursé est de 3143$ (chirurgie, cathéter, injections, nuits et autres traitements). Lors des jours qui ont suivis, je n’ai vu aucune amélioration au niveau de la patte avant, lors des petits déplacements de mon chinchilla elle se tenait sur le poignet de sa patte qui était retourné sur elle-même. J’ai aussi remarqué un manque de fourrure autour de sa patte dû au fait que Mirabel se l’arrachait. Mardi 8 juin, en matinée, je suis donc retournée au Centre vétérinaire de Laval après les avoir appelé et prévenu de mon retour avec Mirabel. Sur place, je rencontre le Dr.Édouard Maccolini qui après avoir ausculté mon chinchilla me dit que la mauvaise pose du cathéter était à l’origine du problème. Selon lui le cathéter avait était posé trop serré sur la patte ce qui a causé une mauvaise circulation sanguine et engendré le gonflement. J’ai alors demandé s'il n’était pas nécessaire d'avoir une collerette afin d'éviter que Mirabel continue de s’arracher du poil. Dr. Maccolini m’a affirmé que cela n’était pas nécessaire. prescrit quelques exercices d'hydrothérapie à faire sous forme de petites séances de 10 minutes, 3 fois par jour. On ne m’a chargé aucun frais pour cette consultation puisqu’elle était la résultante d’une mauvaise pratique lors de la chirurgie. Toutefois, on m’a facturé 29$ pour la pommade. Je suis donc rentrée chez moi avec Mirabel où le soir même j’ai commencé l'hydrothérapie tout en poursuivant ses autres traitements. Je tiens à préciser qu’il n’y a pas eu un jour depuis l’incident du 4 juin où je n'étais pas chez moi et je n’ai pas laissé Mirabel seule plus de 3h consécutives mais elle a manger sa patte et est morte même si on ma dit que ce serait pas le cas. prix 3400$$$ +

Do yourself a favor and don’t come to CVL. I’ve never met a vet this money hungry and such an incoherent team. After being pressured to take multiple tests for the food poisoning of our dog, we left feeling like they didn’t do anything to really help her. Went to this place for an emergency with my pup. My mom walked in with my dog first, I followed not long after. Right away the girl at the desk asked if we were together, to which I said yes. She then told me “you have to wait outside it’s one person at a time,” meanwhile, there was a couple clearly sitting together in the waiting room... the only two other people there. I pointed out that they were together. She the snapped at me soooo rudely “thats a special condition ok you need to leave!” Never experienced something so rude in my life! It was upsetting to be treated this way, especially since I was already concerned about my dog.... this woman needs a serious lesson in customer service.

The service was great except the vet. My dog clearly had an indigestion but she was talking in such a dramatic way saying euhhhhh every 2 words and trying to make you do test to spend more money. The technician was very sweet, and they called us back few days after to check on him, and letting me know i can get a refund for the food i had to buy but my dog didnt like. Very expensive, all about the money. My dog was vomiting, every time I asked the vet a question about possible illnesses it's always an xtra exam to pay for. Was sent home after basic blood work an injection for calcium, electrolytes and Prescriptions. Was told she should get better. She died that same night, after seizures. Traumatic experience. We went to this emergency after our cat wasn’t well. It was by far the worst experience. The Dr who saw us basically said we either had to spend 4000$ to run tests which had no guarantee or put her down. 3 weeks later she’s doing fine. Not only did the Dr insult us she used fear to get us into putting our car down. And that’s putting it very lightly. We will be making a formal complaint to the board of Veterinary and getting any media outlet to take on our story. This cannot continue.....

Hello I have double feeling about this place. First- my cat got cancer. We didn't know about and brought him to this clinic. Be honest I don't remember the wet's name. But diagnosis was wrong- we tortured him for a week giving him pills he didn't need (against inflammation and some others). He could not eat and even drink water but we forced him to swallow it. My dear Vasya. Forgive us please. After a week of nightmares, wet sent him to oncology. A few days more and we had to put him to sleep. My 14 years cat. Why the wet could not recognize the incurable disease? Oppositely- I have two dogs, and we had no problems with all our problems there. Even more, my older one gave a birth to three beautiful girls in this clinic :-) The staff is nice, think they are real dog lovers, never experienced any problems. Services are good.

I’ve had MANY unpleasant experiences at this vet. I only turn to them for emergencies when other vets are closed. I have resentfully spent thousands of dollars at their facility, only to obtain the some of the worst service ever - and rude reception as well. I’ve had a vet try to convince me to put a tube in my cats neck for feeding. After multiple days of paying for intensive care/stay at their facility I asked if I could force feed her with a syringe. The vet told me I could and didn’t suggest it to me days (and hundreds of dollars prior) because people don’t usually have the time for it... I recently returned for a routine service on my exotic animal, and only after having provided the service and creating my bill, and AFTER I asked for specifications on the high amount, I was informed that it’s normal as the prices have been raised. I discourage this place to anyone, unless you have no other option.

(Translated) Worst 24h vet I have known so far! Everyone sells this vet as if they are unique and perfect, but to me it was quite the opposite. We went to the emergency room 1 week ago, paw open to the bone, expected 4 hours. After the stitches, we found that there was an opening left on the wound after 24 hours, photo attached to it. They told us it was okay. A week later, we notice that the wound is still open and that there is discharge and that we have as a suspicion an infection on the wound, we are currently at the vet waiting 7 hours ago now and he mentions us that there are always emergencies when we are only 7-8 in the waiting room on average since 10:30 this morning. We are already anxious to see the vet to let us know that indeed it is open and that he takes another $ 1000 out of our pockets when the work of the professionals has been badly done. Disappointed my disappointed to the point that we should have gone to the south shore 24h. This is absolutely absurd and is commercial misrepresentation when he mentions that he takes care of all of their client / dog who comes in no matter what order of priority. Receptionists, no empathy or even no human approach in telling us that they are sorry. He tells us that he doesn't save and that we have the choice to either stay or go. When the professionals offer 2 choices and the 2nd choice of answer is to leave, it is because they want you to quit. Thank you very much to the receptionist who has just started her shift on Saturday October 2 at around 4:30 p.m. I hope they will provide client relationship training to this lady and the rest of the Laval veterinary center team. Déçu mes déçu au point que nous aurions dû aller au 24h de la rive-sud. C’est absolument absurde et c’est de la fausse représentation commerciale lorsqu’il mentionne qu’il prenne soin de tous leur client/chien qui rentre peu importe l’ordre de priorités.Les réceptionnistes, aucun empathie ou même aucune approche humaine en nous disant qu’il sont désoler . Il nous mentionne qu’il ne save pas et que nous avons le choix de soit rester ou de partir . Merci beaucoup à la réceptionniste qui vient de commencer son quart de travaille le samedi 2 octobre dans les alentours de 16h30. I give it 5 stars because of the great service. The waiting time was long but I guess going on a weekend and a day before Labor Day would make it busy. There were also many other animals being served and lots of in and out. The place was very clean and it was very quiet. No animals barking or crying like at my vet clinic...I guess it was a peaceful atmosphere. There was a dog whimpering and the technician at the desk was very soothing and kind to the dog. Quite reassuring towards animals and pet owners. The only con would be it’s very pricey ...consultation at 170$ yikes but the meds were reasonable pricing. The vet wanted to do blood draw but I refused cause I wanted to see my own vet and do all the blood work with him. But it cost me 350$ anyways...so yes very pricey for my wallet

I was disappointed and I don't recommend this clinic. Wrong diagnosis. My dog got worst. Vet and technicians more interest in making money. $215 consultation plus $300 prescriptions. Be aware and verify what are the meds they put in your bag before you blindly pay. The bag the technician prepared included 8 big cans (my dog is a Yorkie)of dog food for gastro, one pill of heartworms vaccin. Nobody asked me for my consent.

I relate more to natural medicines and philosophies so I was very excited for what she could offer for my cats who are now 16 years old. Horrible service. Night shift employees were so rude. Dog was yelping in pain but they kept on telling us it wasn’t an emergency. So many animals that arrived after us passed before and believe me they weren’t all life threatening. They even put a dog down. After 12hrs of wating…yes 12 hours we left and went straight to a vet that treated our dog right away with love and care. And it costed us like a quarter of what it would have. Please avoid if you can.

Wish I could give negative stars. Took them 2 hours to shave some hair off my dog to look at a skin infection he had. They ended up giving him a double dose of sedatives (to inflate the bill) and putting him in isolation. I couldn't be with him during that time so he ended up panicking and screaming through the whole thing. They then gave him a stimulant(because the bill wasn't inflated enough) to wake him up, even though he wasn't sleepy to begin with. Poor thing was so scared that he ended up with diarrhea all night. They prescribed an antibiotic cream (which he obviously needed before they shaved him). Basically, I payed 300$ for polysporin.

Terrible service from Dr. Touret! This vet has no interest in helping your pet at all instead they just want to sell you expensive medications. They administer unnecessary tests and schedule excessive appointments which have no positive impact and instead cause more harm then good. You think you are doing the best for your loved one in a stressful time and they take advantage of you because of that. The vet assistants were cruel and abusive. They acted fearful administering a blood test and did not know how to handle small pets without abuse. It was like they walked in that day from the street and started the job that day. They don’t even seem to like animals at all. Dr. Touret specifically states statistics as if they were facts when after careful review they are completely false and misrepresented. When her treatment causes grave danger and side effects she is no where to be found and truly does not care. Avoid this place and vet at all costs. You are better off throwing your money away.

From the pre-consultation call to the exit of the vet, the service was A1! My cat was well taken care of and the vet called me on my cell to give regular updates (due to the covid, I could not enter with my kitty). My cat is very anxious when he sees unfamiliar people and he had made a nervous pee in his crate in the car. I informed the technician who had taken my cat and when my cat came back afterwards, they had washed the cage + the cat. I wasn't expecting it, I was just expecting the cage. And they didn't even charge us the cost of cleaning the animal and the cage. I was very pleasantly surprised. They really take care of our animals and they have a lot of love for them. They even called us after the Siamese returned to hear from him. We have a follow-up soon at the normal vet, but I would like to return to you if possible. I will definitely stay there again. De l'appel pré-consultation jusqu'à la sortie du vet, le service était A1! On a bien pris en charge mon chat et le vet m'appelait sur mon cell pour donner des mises à jour réguliers (dû au covid, je ne pouvais pas entrer avec mon minou). Mon chat est très anxieux quand il croise des gens non familiers et il avait fait un pipi nerveux dans sa cage dans l'auto. J'ai averti la technicienne qui avait pris mon chat et quand mon chat est revenu après, ils avaient lavé la cage + le chat. Je ne m'y attendais pas, je m'attendais juste pour la cage. Et ils nous ont même pas chargé les frais de nettoyage de l'animal et de la cage. J'ai été très agréablement surprise. Ils prennent vraiment soin de nos animaux et ils ont beaucoup d'amour pour eux. Ils nous ont même appelé après le retour du siamois pour avoir de ses nouvelles. On a un suivi bientôt au vétérinaire normal, mais j'aimerais bien retourner chez vous si possible. Honestly, I don't doubt the capabilities of any of the techs there, not the knowledge of the vets. They're probably all very good. I'm giving 2 stars simply because it's like borderline theft for the prices vets charge. Especially since Amoxicillin is also for humans, they charge so much more. Nous y sommes allée en fin de soirée, il n'y avait qu'un vétérinaire, somme toute très gentil mais il était DÉBORDÉ !!! Au prix qu'on paye on s'attend à un service 5 étoiles, en commençant par réduire les temps d'attente. Vous attendez quoi pour augmenter le nombre d'employés ? Surtout des vétérinaires.... !!! Les 2 vétérinaires qui ce sont occupés de notre lapin étaient extrêmement gentil et humain. Les techniciennes en santé animale aussi. Je leur donne 5 étoiles ???? Mais les gestionnaires de la clinique ont besoin de s'enlever les doigts dans le nez. Prendre des gens en otages parce qu'on sait qu'on est la seule clinique d'urgence 24 hrs, chargé des prix exorbitant, et surtout restreindre le personnel au minimum en fin de soirée/nuit c'est inacceptable ! Vos vétérinaires sont débordés, malgré tout leur effort ils n'arrivent pas à donner aux animaux les soins en temps nécessaire. À cause de vous, les gestionnaires, nos animaux n'ont pas grande chance de survie. Vos soins coûtent les yeux de la tête, seulement les gens très aisés financièrement auront la possibilité de faire soigner leur animal. Les autres, comme nous, devront prendre l'horrible décision de mettre fin au souffrance de leur animal et retourneront à la maison avec le coeur brisé. Venez pas me dire que votre clinique existe dans le but d'aider les animaux, parce que si on a pas d'argent, ils vont flyer assez vite !!! Votre but s'est de vous remplir les poches aux maximum. C'est cruel et pathétique !

Absolutely terrible place. If you need an emergency please avoid this place, the DMV is better. Even my veterinarian tells their clients to avoid this place. They charge you needlessly, you have no idea what your total bill will come up to and you get surprise charges. A cone costed me 100$ where as the regular vet cost me 20$. Really? Everything is about triple the price that you would pay at the veterinarian. And I understand it's an emergency hospital, but what a scam. Just because you are open 24/7 allows you to charge everyone whatever you want? Sure a consultation should cost more. But medicine is medicine. My beloved pet died from a malignant cancer. I was very unhappy with the service and options that were being given to me from the oncologist, she lacked empathy and had me do extra test when in reality her cancer is terminal and I was not informed.

My mother brought my guinea pig on the 23rd of November because it seemed like he had kidney stones again. We had already taken him there for this issue and were happy with the service. This time it was a different vet, she sedated him to clear out his urethra and later on my mom brought him back home. It was taking him longer than the time before to wake up, but at one point it seemed like he was starting to come out of the sedation. Around 30 minutes later he passed away in my moms arms, she spent a lot of money on medication and the procedure. They said they would call the next day but strangely enough they never did (they always called to check-up the other times we went with him or our dog).

Don’t go here it’s all about the $$$! I took my puppy there and got the medication apoquel for my dog’s skin allergies. I spent over $1000. On blood tests....I asked them to renew my prescription and they won’t they want me to make an app with them so they could steal my $$$ again! BTW I only gave my dog the pills as needed because they’re so expensive. The medication was renewed only twice. There’s no need for them to see my dog as I’m giving less of the medication that they told me to give him. In conclusion these people are crooks! DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!!

Nous avons eu tout le temps nécessaire avec lui pour ses derniers moments... avant et après... 4 jours après j'ai reçu un appel me disant que les cendres de killer étaient prêt avec sa urne.. A ma grade tristesses aucune emprunts d'encres de la patte de mon chien (précisé à 2 employés minimum a plusieurs reprises que c'était TRÈS important car nous voulions un tatouage de la patte de killer)... Nous avons déboursé 1087.68$ pour un rendez-vous qui a finalement tourné en euthanasie et nous n'avons pas eu une imprimé de 10 sous... même si je me plaint à la personne responsable, qui peut faire réapparaître la patte de mon enfant ??!? Personne. Ce fut un énorme manque de leur part

Not a nice place to bring you pet. Went in the middle of the night because my Guinea pig was having trouble breathing. Was not allowed to go in with my Guinea pig during exam. Receptionist was very rude when I asked why I wasn't allowed going in. Was told that the vet would examine my Guinea pig and any questions they had would be asked only after the exam was done; which doesn't make sense to me. Only information they had was given over the phone to the receptionist when I called before going in. I did not talk to the vet over the phone. Once the exam was over they reluctantly let me see my pig for a few minutes. He was getting oxygen. We went into an exam room to discuss what was going on. Was told they weren't sure and would need to do x-rays and a blood test(s?) to know for sure. It was a Sunday of a long weekend and the exotic vet was only going to be in on a Tuesday. It was strongly suggested that I leave my pig there until the Tuesday and have everything done which would have cost over 1000,00 and it was implied that if I didn't my pig wouldn't make it through the night. After much discussion my pig was given some antibiotics and we decided to take him home. We were told as we left if he made it through the night to come back to get more antibiotics and to call before and they would have it ready. It was not ready after having at least 45 mins. they weren't even aware it was supposed to be prepared for me. Miscommunication from a receptionist perhaps? Was made to feel stupid when I asked a question about meds. To sum it up: Staff was rude Given the situation it felt like a money grab. Was never given a possible cause of his condition, found out from another source what could have been wrong. Luckily, my piggie is fine, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have had many pets over the years and have never been treated with such disrespect. If you do I wish you better staff than I had.

I cannot say enough great things of this phenomenal veterinary centre. I first visited the centre this week with my dog and her 11 pups a few hours after she gave birth as I wanted to ensure that all was well. They not only soothed my stress but also answered all questions I had. I then returned 4 days later with one of the 5-day old pups which had lost weight. The technicians took the puppy immediately into the back and checked her out and fed her, then showed me how to bottle feed her, if needed. At the same time, they helped figure out with me how to get mom to eat more in order to provide more milk. Love love love this veterinary centre, I would go back anytime. My cat Pikachou is currently admitted at CVL. She was seen last week for respiratory issues, which they said is mostly likely to be inflammation due to asthma, chronic inflammation etc. and irritable bowls, similar to Crohn's disease. The vet who was taking charge of her is caring and she wanted to get her better asap. She was hospitalized for 3 days total, her breathing and bowels were much improved and she was full of life upon her return home. Keep in mind they are treating her without knowing her diagnoses.They see lesions on her x-rays but cannot tell me what these lesions are. To proceed with further testing they would have to put her under anesthesia and would cost 2000$ to just find out what these lesions are, also it would put her at risk of death since her lungs are already weak. She`s taking cortisone, antibiotics, painkiller, and a medication to stop her from vomiting. All her meds were taken accordingly, but we were notified that depending on her recovery we might have to change the medication accordingly, they started her with a low dose. 4 days later i noticed she was having a lot of trouble breathing again. So i then brought her right away to same hospital to make sure she wasn't accumulating fluid in her lungs. After taking her vitals the vet calls me and says she had to be put in oxygen because it was at a very low saturation. She then tells me we will need to take xrays to see her lungs. She calls me 20 mins later to tell me Pikachou`s lungs have deteriorated, and more lesions are shown, but radiologist will confirm tomorrow morning, and taking about euthenasia! I then made my mom call 1 hr later since i was in complete shock receiving this info, she confirmed with my mom she sees more lesions present in xray but she isint specialist, so why does she think she can tell us this?? Fast foward to 2 days later her vet calls me and assures me that my cat is eating well and alert. She confirms with me that she is still in oxygen cage and her oxygen saturation is getting better outside the cage also, but not comfortable with fully taking her out yet. I then asked her if an x-ray would be needed to determine if lesions are getting smaller and if meds are working since vet 2 days prior mentioned lesions worse and lungs deteriorated. She she tells me that after report done by radiologist there was no change in her lungs compared to 1 week ago. So now Im getting two different opinions. which makes me feel very unsure on what is going on at CVL! On top of that! when i called during the evening to have news on my cat girl was very rude with us, and kept calling my girl cat a he! very disappointed. I have paid over 4000$ last week and nearly just as much if not more this week!

Very Very Bad expérience: My quaker parrot had an accident with a toy and had an OPEN WOUND on his neck, hé is bleeding a lot , hé needed stitches ASAP and be needed to be there monitored for the night because hé was so weak that he couldn't even walk and fly. I only had 200$ on me because it's Saturday night and it was an emergency so I asked them to keep him for the night and I was going to come back the day after to pick him up and Pay .after the treatments, since I had access to the money on the day after! THEY REFUSED TO TREAT HIM! THEY TOOK 200$ for the CONSULT , cleaning the wound AND AN give ANTIBIOTIC AND THEY WANT ANOTHER 54$. I understand the service, but for 200$ they could at least keep him until the day after and save his life. HIS NECK IS COMPLETELY OPEN AND THEY MADE ME LEAVE!!!! ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. Tomorrow I am bringing him to the breeders Vet and he's going to treat him. OF COURSE THERE's NO MORE TRUST, I hope he doesn't die.REFUSING TO TREAT AN ANIMAL AND TAKE 200$ it's against any moral. YOUR PET IS JUST A BILL. NO PASSION. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED. THERE's COMMONS SENSE THEY COULD BE MORE REASONABLE.

Well, they do “emergency” work, which is give a possible diagnosis and provide some medicine, but it’s really your vet that has the answers. This hospital is 24/7, and it’s great that it is plus it’s beautiful and the service provided is very kind and patient, but unfortunately it is EXTREMELY expensive, way, way too expensive. The vet it probably 25% the cost. Also, even if you do pay, they give you some of the services but not everything is included. You have to pay for EVERY single thing in there. Not one thing is in the consultation. So, the tests, medicines, plans, exams, all not covered. The consultation includes nothing and is the most expensive of all, and the rest, like I said, is much cheaper at a vet. It is what it is, so it’s up to the individual what they can afford. This place is not for someone that doesn’t have money.

I was there for the first time ever for my 14 year old dog on Sunday. If you can wait to see your regular veterinarian, by all means you should absolutely do so. They charge almost triple the regular vet fees! For a consultation, blood work and prescriptions, I was charged $740.00!!! Even after paying all that, I was still there for 4 hours! Forget about taking advantage of one’s situation….this is outright greed. They should be ashamed of themselves. They keep mentioning in comments that their prices are in line with other emergency veterinary services. SO WHAT!! The other places should be ashamed as well!!!

(Translated) I went to the Laval emergency veterinary center with my rabbit who seemed to have abnormal breathing difficulties. When we got home, my rabbit no longer walked on one leg and I was never notified by the vet in charge that an incident had occurred. Note that I warned the technician who came to pick up my rabbit for her exam that it was very difficult to handle. Our rabbit also hid for 4 hours (probably due to his pain ...), whereas he usually never hides after a visit to the vet. After a few back and forth calls between my usual clinic and Laval, I was finally recommended to call the Laval center (as they were the last to see my rabbit) so that they could be able to prescribe me temporarily an anti-inflammatory (meloxicam) to avoid bringing back to the clinic my rabbit, still in obvious state of shock. However, the Laval clinic categorically refused. Fortunately, our usual clinic agreed to accommodate us given the situation. Following this first experience, where my rabbit probably came out of his appointment in poorer condition than in which he arrived, I am disappointed that the Laval emergency veterinary center is our only option available for 24/7 services. * Update: I received a follow-up call 48 hours after my visit, a few hours after the publication of my review to ask how my rabbit was responding to the prescribed antibiotic treatment (treatment which should last 2 weeks ...), to which I said that I could not answer as I had only given one dose of the treatment. I also mentioned the leg injury to which I was simply told "ah ok", to immediately move on. This therefore testifies to the fact that my calls following our visit were simply never taken seriously, otherwise the information concerning the leg injury as well as my request for an anti-inflammatory (although refused) would probably have ended up in the file and I wouldn't have gotten that call. I just find it strange that I received a follow-up call so early, and especially considering the fact that I called the day before to say that my rabbit was injured and in shock from my visit ... Anyway, j 'just hope I never have to set foot in this clinic again. J'ai aussi rementionné la blessure à la patte auquel on m'a simplement dit ''ah ok'', pour immédiatement passer à autre chose. Cela témoigne donc du fait que mes appels suivant notre visite n'ont simplement jamais été pris sérieusement, autrement les informations concernant la blessure à la patte ainsi que ma demande d'anti-inflammatoire (bien que refusée) se seraient probablement retrouvées au dossier et je n'aurais pas reçu cet appel. Je trouve simplement étrange d'avoir reçu un appel de suivi aussi tôt, et plus particulièrement considérant le fait que j'aille appelé la veille pour dire que mon lapin était blessé et en état de choc suite à ma visite... Bref, j'espère simplement ne jamais avoir à remettre les pieds dans cette clinique.

Super bad experience... Astronomical prices for minimal results! At midnight my cat was sick - cause unknown. All clinics were closed, and there was only Laval Animal Hospital and DMV open 24 hours. Having very bad experiences with DMV, we decided to bring our cat to Laval (just for overnight emergency treatment). Saw the vet, after just 5 minutes, got a quote - for one day $1200! The vet said, by the next day, it will be $1700. With more tests to be done (ultra sound, x-rays and hospitalization, it will be about $2000 to $3000). In panic mode, I asked her to do something to my cat for now. She gave my cat a blood test, IV drip and antibiotics to reduce the fever and put him in an oxygen care. They said the oxygen cage treatment costs $700. When the vet came back, I told her that we cannot afford the amount of $2000 - $3000 down the road. I must cap it to today's fees. She sounded disappointed, and said how come I said it was ok before. I said, we evaluated our budget and we cannot afford $2000 to $3000 vet fees on a dime. She was visibly unhappy. I said, just cap it to the fees for that day, to make sure my cat is ok for the night, and then see what we need to do step by step, as we need to budget our finances. She made me sign a waiver form, indicating that if my cat died during the night, it is not their responsibility. That made me really nervous... what could happen during the night? If they did not take good care of my cat, and dies... what if?? That raised a lot of fear and apprehension in me. As it seems like they are more interested in the money, than the well-being of the animal. The next day, I arranged to transfer my cat to another hospital. The vet was co-operative in the arrangement. But she said, if I cannot afford it at Laval animal hospital, I will not be able to do anything at another hospital either. I said, I just want to take my cat back. So, they agreed to prepare my cat for me to pick up. Just 20 minutes before I leave, the vet called me and said, my cat is suddenly in very bad condition and there may be possibilities of internal bleeding. I should instantly agree to do more tests (x-ray or ultra sound) test..., as it is not wise to transfer him to another hospital. He might die in transit. If I don't plan to pay for all the other tests, it is best to euthanize him. To me great horror and appall, I just said, I will come get my cat, please just prepare her for pick up. When I got there, the reception had me wait for about 20 minutes! Then, when the vet came in, she asked me to sign a paper to waive the responsibilities of the hospital for me taking out my cat. And then she told me, my cat is in much better condition now. Well, the cat was ok when I said I had to pick it up, was on the brink of death when I was about to leave to pick it up, and now in 15 minutes, is back to a better condition! And she said, my cat is in very grave condition, and the best is to put her to sleep! That is very disappointing. I find this hospital is interested the money only. Not in the well being of the pet, and the owner. After I transferred my cat to the Pierrefonds Animal hospital, now he is recovering well. RECOVERING and DOING WELL!!!! Far from the need to being euthanized! The vet at Pierrefonds helped me track down what are the possibilities of the problem. And they gave effective treatment to my cat. The Laval Animal Hospital is extremely disappointing. Very sad that we cannot find a 24 hour hospital that really cares about the well being of the animal and the owner. Will never ever go back again!

Honestly, they just want money. My dog got fleas from his groomers. I called them on Saturday night after 5pm when I realized my poor dog had fleas, I asked them if they could help and sold flea solution since all the pet stores were closed. They said I needed an appointment with the vet to get evaluated for fleas! and couldn't sell me anything and then also told me that I should not buy any flea killing solution from a pet store or Walmart since it could be dangerous. I told them it was Saturday, the vet only opens on Monday. I can't wait that long. and they didn't care they wanted me to pay 200$ for an emergency visit and not give me any help over the phone. I hung up called the DMV in Lachine, they helped me over the phone, I went to pick up the product from them and I even spoke to a vet technician. they were extremely busy but still helped me FOR FREE. your place is not professional and anyone who asks I will tell them this. You people are horrible, rather my dog suffer with fleas then sell me a product I can buy on amazon. Thanks for absolutely nothing. A Reply to their response. That is complete nonsense. They sell flea solution at pet stores and at vets and amazon. DMV sold me the exact same solution at Mondu.... all they asked me if my pet was healthy and had any skin allergies. he did not need an exam for this.... fleas they told me is a very common thing and not to worry. 2 years ago I though my dog had fleas, I brought him to my vet and they checked his fur for free, because no exam was needed, (he didn't have fleas that time). Just stop lying. Your response clearly shows that all you want is money. and that's embarrassing. If a child has lice you don't bring them to the ER. your logic is ridiculous. Like I said. If anyone needs assistance go to the DMV in Lachine. Much more helpful and professional and not money hungry,
