I brought in a sick chicken. I wasn't sure what to expect in terms of bedside manner / handling considerations with a chicken and was pleasantly surprised. Taylor (Vet Tech) cradled my panicky bird until she was basically falling asleep on her lap. Dr. Sproll was very busy but accommodated our short-notice appointment, took her time in prescribing the right drug, and will be following up. Will go back to Winrose whenever I require chicken support! Thanks Winrose!

Since I am profoundly Deaf, loves how they tend to use the paper and pen to communicate or also use the phone to text. UPDATED: Thank you Winrose for taking the time to get back to me and trying to make things right. I understand things have been very hard for everyone during this pandemic. Beyond that, we are so happy to have found the cause for Pearl's smelly cat-ness and will be returning to get that dealt with soon. We received very kind service which was prompt and positive. Dr. Sproll was lovely to speak to, as well as the vet tech. Thank you again, Winrose staff for being there through ball of this for our furry family members. My experience with Winrose was ok at best. I brought my young skinny kitten in for a wellness check and deworming which went fine, the vet I spoke with was gruff to say the least and had an "old school" mentality of if it's hungry it'll eat. Left with a bag of expensive food and two cans. Whatever. 2 days later, my kitten is visibly Ill, she was open mouth breathing, almost like she wasn't able to take in air. They took us in right away and didn't charge for the visit, gave her an antibiotic shot and fluids under her skin .They said it's an upper respiratory infection. Ok, cool. 2 more cans of wet food. Except I had to take her to ANOTHER vet the next day where she was diagnosed with upper and lower respiratory infection and had to be placed on oxygen as well as more antibiotics etc. It wasn't the worst, but I'm upset they didn't catch that she had pneumonia the first time and she had to suffer through the night barely able to breathe.

Just got to say these guys and gals care more about the animal than making money. I called in with a sick bird, and they said they could take me in a few days, but suggested trying another vet first to get faster care. They even mentioned one specific vet to try first. I really appreciated that, and says a lot IMO about their priorities. Person on the phone was warm and helpful. Thanks. :)

Very rushed and brief exam for the amount of $ charged. Concern I brought up in exam was pretty much brushed off. Noted an issue on the exam report they did not say a peep about in the exam. They advised my pet was overweight, didn’t inquire into my cats current diet, recommended a $80 3kg bag of special food, with no further instruction or option on how to adapt my pets diet, etc. Also noted my cats coat was “thinning” on the examination report.....my cat is a sphynx! Will be considering another vet or at the very least different dr next time.

Front desk staff is poorly uneducated about legalities of administering vaccines without a physical exam. Was told that it was 100% possible to have the vaccine administered alone because my cat's last checkup was within the last year... to find out it is ILLEGAL to preform any shots without a physical. What else are they misinforming their clients about?!?!

A few days ago we were searching for a vet in the city to bring our puppy to as we had a few concerns about her. Sometimes it hard to find that certain office but I'm certainly glad I came to Winrose. Dr. Bowles was absolutely amazing. Its nice to see someone very passionate about their career choice which made the process go very smoothly. I called Winrose to book an appointment for an ultrasound for my ferret, because I had to take him to emergency on the weekend and that (wonderful) vet was in contact from someone at Winrose and was told that he could be seen this week if I call Monday morning to schedule, and then she sent his file over. Monday morning I phoned, and the absolute snot of a woman on the phone told me that he wouldn't get in for at least three weeks. I explained the situation and information that I had, she didn't care and didn't bother looking into it. When I asked if he could possibly be seen sooner if it was urgent, she replied 'well we're not an emergency vet, so no.' Apparently, eventually with a referral, they don't care if your pet dies.

Such an amazing vet clinic. I took my dumpy tree frog there and they loved him ! Most people are grossed out by frogs but every lady was kind and happy to meet him. He even got to have a photoshoot! People told me that the frog medication would be incredibly expensive but it was 20$! Incredibly happy.

We took our puppy there for her spay and neuter. Her suture opened up a little so we took her back and they glued it. When she came out of the room, she was wearing what looked like a neck cushion around her neck. My husband told the vet that she won't wear it; will thrash and cause more damage so to please keep it as we didn't want it. She wouldn't wear the Elizabethan cone we were first sent home with. She thrashed and crashed so much she was bound to hurt herself so we knew this wasn't going to work either. Our puppy got out of it right in front of the vet so my husband handed it to her and was talking to her when the vet just walked away. He thought that was rude that she walked away while he was talking to her. Winrose is not a bad clinic but we feel an attitude of indifference or 'we're just here to do our job' rather than a happy friendly atmosphere. They're competent and will do the job but the vet walking away was the motivation behind us seeking another clinic.

Love this place! They were always there when we had problems with our Bunny and Kitty. It's nice having a place that really understands small animals like bunnies, most vets are just dogs and cats. This vet clinic has really adapted to the Covid-19 new way of conduting business. A vet tech came out to my car to get my cat. Then the vet himself called me while examining my cat and they took my credit card for payment over the phone. Then they brought my cat back out to me. It was a terrific expeirence. They are amazing here. I have four pets that go here. Of them, 3 of them are rescues who have a hard time at the vet. One screams like a demon when you cut his nails, one is so scared of car rides that she spends vet visits drooling and trying to cower under a chair, and one needed gloves and a towel for her vaccinations even after a sedative. Let me tell you something these people take it like champs. They are gentle, loving, sweet and sociable. I would trust them with anything. If you are going somewhere else you are going to the wrong vet.

They include "exotics" in their range of animal care and when I took my rabbit in a couple times they did seem to be knowledgeable and my rabbit was comfortable with the doctor. The diagnosis/medicines they prescribed worked well! Recently my rabbit died. I took him to WinRose for cremation. They were extremely accommodating, walked me through the process, very very kind, gave me time and space to privately say goodbye. Excellent animal hospital. We've been to WinRose twice for emergency guinea pig care. Both times WinRose made time for us in and provided us with professional, compassionate service. Our first guinea pig made a full recovery from a urinary tract infection due to the vet's care last year. Sadly, our second guinea pig had terminal cancer and had to be put down. The staff were especially kind and understanding, despite these pandemic times. We even received a sympathy card signed by all the staff a week afterward. We really appreciate WinRose's thoughtfulness. It's small things like that which make them stand out. I highly recommend them for anyone with exotics

Shouldn't start a convo with your animal is great and finish with I am super worried about... give us more money and buy the over priced food the vet up the road sells cheaper. I pretty much just showed up at their door this morning with a very sick bunny. My regular vet was on vacation. They understood my panic and my tears and got me in to see the vet the minute she arrived. She was wonderful and gave a very thorough examination and the tech was great explaining how to give a whole variety of medications to a non-compliance rabbit. There are very few clinics that treat rabbits and I would not hesitate at all to recommend or use them again if my vet was ever unavailable.

I'm writing this review on the worst experience in my life 13 years ago. I brought my 4 year old mini dachshund "Maggie" in because she was in pain and couldn't do one stair. The vet Dr. Eichkorn just looked at her, didn't do xrays or proper assessment, she said it was "probably a pinched nerve in her spine was here are pills to help her for pain." Couple days later, my dog's back legs went paralyzed right in front me. We rushed her to the emergency vet on Pembina where I was told she had a slipped disc and will never walk again. We had to put her down for the quality of life wasn't fair to her. Winrose's overall response was "oh dear, sorry to hear that, slipped discs can happen." NEVER EVER GO TO WINROSE! This could have been prevented if Dr. Eichkorn took the proper precautions and knew how to be a professional veterinarian. Terrible vet! Please do not go! To this day I still suffer from memories of trauma of seeing my Maggie go paralyzed right in front of me. Maggie May 2003-2007

Today I went to buy some dog food for my sick pet. Despite the fact that they didn’t bother to update their operating hours online, I got there at 8:30 pm , (they are supposed to shut down at 9:00 pm; ) I called as they instructed in the front door, nobody answered so I kept calling because someone was in there ( pc was on , lights was on) . After 10 minutes a young lady showed up at the door , looked pretty annoyed and told me that if I was the person who was calling she is “so sorry but they are closed” I explained that I needed some dog food for my pet and she replied that the register is closed. Too bad that I paid them 750$ two weeks ago to do tests to my pet. They are totally unprofessional, they care only about how to milk your wallet and they don’t give a dime about your pet, as I have to give my dog regular dog food and not the one that their vet suggested. Make yourself a favour and try to find a place that they care about your pets and their wellbeing, this place care only about how to make your wallet emptied

My Snake has an on going problem with blistering skin. Dr Amanda Malboeuf has been dealing with Naajaa's situation. We spent some months with antibiotics and the skin problems cleared up. A month after suspending the treatments the blistering started to come back. I showed Dr Malboeuf. She said that I should turn of the under tank heat and put up an over tank heat lamp. I did that and to my amazement the blistering went away in 2 days.The Lesson? Do what Dr Amanda Malboeuf at Winrose says. She is a genius.

100% would not recommend or trust this vet clinic after my last visit. My dog had gotten into some birth control while I was at work when I got home I googled if it was toxic. Upon my research it said it wasn’t but to be safe I called this vet clinic to make sure my puppy was going to be ok. After I called they said I had to get there immediately so they could induce vomiting before it got to his intestines trusting this vet I took him in, once they had done the procedure the vet brings him in and says it wasn’t toxic when she GOOGLED it especially the small amount he took. So why they would unethically put undo stress on my one year old puppy is completely upsetting to me not to mention charging me 100$ for it!!! I would not trust this vet clinic, clearly they are only in it for the financial gain ... it become more clear to me as she proceeded to try and sell me all these unnecessary pills and shots afterwards...I feel so taken advantaged of... so wrong. If you have to google something clearly they are not a qualified vet.

They were knowledgeable and took excellent care of my guinea pigs. They may be slightly more expensive than other vets but worth every penny. There's not many people I would trust to perform a delicate surgery on my little pets but I'm confident in the best possible care being administered there!

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. When they behave in a manner that might fall short of being acceptable, they are open to feedback and make the required adjustments. No matter what time of day an appointment might be they are usually on time. Every now and then there is a bit of a wait in the examination room after the technician is finished. This is OK, because you know that the doctor isn't giving everyone the bums rush and is taking time to answer questions and provide all the necessary information. I have taken all of my guide dogs there. If anyone is working with a guide dog from a recognised school accredited by International Guide Dog Federation I strongly recommend paying Winrose a visit.

We have been customers for almost 20 years and our cockatiel had a bad eye infection- we took her to get it checked only to be told that they were fully booked, then they wanted to send us around the city to other places only to find out none could see us since they didn't have an exotic pet vet. I was willing to wait if they could fit us in but they refused. Ended up using regular eye antibiotic and was told by my sister that just as well, since the last time it cost $260!!! Very disappointed with their service!!!

Called this morning to ask questions about euthanasia for my 21 year old cat, with kidney disease amongst other things. Was told because he wasn't a patient there already he would need a quality of life exam before they could do that. I get if he was a younger cat sure but he is 21!! I would never put him threw an exam for no reason on his last moment on this earth and a caring vet shouldn't either. The receptionist I talked to was very nice and asked the vet if they would make an exception and the answer was no. At some point logic, compassion and reason should've entered the vets mind....clearly they only care about the money.

They have given our hamster good care the times that we have been there. It has been a difficult situation all round because of the pandemic - my only complaint is that the person I spoke with to make the check up appointment told me that the only way we could come in to the appointment was if they had to euthanize our pet. Other than that, great care.

Came home from work to find my little skinny pig in rough shape just before Christmas. Called at least 8 vets in the city, and finally got a hold of someone here. The staff we friendly, caring and super accommodating, even given the emergency circumstances being at the end of their day. They even reached out the following day to see if our little one made it. While she did not, I couldn't be more grateful for the time they took to assess, treat, and supply everything we needed. They were such a blessing. ????

Not accommodating to animal emergencies. Came home from work to find our dog limp and barely breathing. We called to tell them we needed to come asap and the receptionist said they did not have time. We had to go to a new vet clinical that didn't know our dogs history. We will never return. Lost years of loyalty.

Nicest staff experience I have ever had in my entire life. Had to take my very sick rat Remy to the vet. They told us they were fully booked but they squeezed us in for an appointment anyways. Everyone there (the veterinarians, the medical support team, and the people at the front desk) were all full of jokes and kindness. Dr. Amanda Malboeuf was especially very reassuring and gave us no pressure to put Remy on medication. It was also very sweet how she let my friends and I listen to his heart beat. 300/bpm :-).
