Dr.'s are great here! Too bad a receptionist has to spoil your experience. One of the receptionist here is extremely rude and unsympathetic to anyone concerns especially when you call to inquire about price for a described situation that you would like to get you animal checked for She doesnt let you talk when you start talking trying to explain yourself she starts talking louder and faster over top of your voice. Cost is a concern to me and she didnt care kept saying well your going to have to get A,B, C ,D ect. And that's a million dollars so are you coming or not because you'll have no choice but to do all these things. This is with not asking a actual Dr. I do know her name but I'm not name shaming if the owners here would like know who they can ask me.When I did ask her name she didn't sound to happy giving that to me or that I asked.

My experience with Dr. Millar has been wonderful. He speaks clear and concise when describing treatments, doesnt push medication or unnecessary testing, and is very gentle with the animals i have brought in. He has taken the time to call me personally and ask how medication is working and i never feel rushed to leave my appointment. Front office staff are always polite and pleasant to deal with.

Terrible customer service! We called to clinic because our dog was in pain, they’re stuff told us to come at 9:30, my wife come at 9:30 and waited in the car for 3 hours, and they didn’t take her at all! They make my pregnant wife sitting in the car with our dog for 3 hours!!! Deeply disappointed, only frustration!!! Will never come again to the clinic who don’t care about dog in pain!!! If you love your pet - choose better clinic

I felt i needed to add to my review(which is below)I would like to tell you about my experience. I went in because my Chihuahua/Beagle was acting strange. It turned out he had renal cancer. But it got worse the following morning when he was scheduled to have his kidney removed but as soon as they started the anaesthesia the muscle holding his other kidney in popped out. As it turned out my poor little guy was riddled with cancer. Dr. Moffat was the surgeon at the time and my wife and I are standing there saying goodbye crying and I say to Dr. Moffat how much for everything and he said to me come back in a few days when you have recovered from the shock have losing your little baby. How many veterinarians we do something is kind as that!!! People have to realize the tests cost money some of them are not cheap and sometimes they have to run a number of tests to get a handle on the situation. Because unfortunately they can't tell us where it hurts. And also dr. K is amazing as far as I'm concerned. Granted this was my experience and other people's experiences may have been different. Thank you for reading I hope it helps you MY ORIGINAL POST Is below One of the best veterinarians in the city, correction they are the best vets in the city I could tell you numerous stories of the compassion intelligence and love the if shown my animals over the past 25 years. But instead of tell you some sob story about an animal that passed and we all know it's like losing a little child they understand that and you don't find that type of mindset in many businesses these days. Five stars is not nearly enough for what they do on a daily basis.

After putting down our cat, we could hear loud talking and laughing outside the door barely minutes after our cat passed. Aside from this, when we first walked in, before even proceeding with the euthanasia, we were asked if the cat was already dead in the kennel. I’ve never had such an insensitive experience especially one such as this. Very disappointing, shocking & not a good feeling on top of losing a pet.

I do not recommend this veterinarian clinic to anyone. There was a time in history it use to be good, though now it is all about money, and soak you, they will. The last time I needed a simple pancreatic test done, I was soaked for almost $700. A reasonable $150 would have been sufficient to diagnose the condition with medication. I was told my dog needed ultrasound, though the ultrasound couldn’t pick anything up on the bladder, because it was collapsed, so they say, lol. Then he needed XRays, and finally blood work, and the last thing done was the urine test which showed he had pancreatitis. My other dog, had cancer, and had to go in for a second operation because they didn’t get all of it the first time. I wasted thousands of dollars at this place. What got me to post on here though was the lack of compassion this facility shows. I was unable to pay the money for my last visit and asked if I could make payments, they said no, lol, the bill was for $207, the other estimate they gave me was for $600 for a barium test, thank GOD I didn’t fall for that one. They go and do these estimates and come back, kind of like a car estimate, lol. I just wonder what the BBB has to say about this place. To walk in without an appointment shows they lack the experience, and compassion, it’s almost like a last resort veterinary clinic you have to use, because of its convenience. I found that the rooms were always dirty. I never seen anyone ever spray sanitizer on the floor or on the tables. Hair was everywhere, ewe. If you have lots of money, they will take you for a ride, be careful. My dogs nails needed to be done, though they never take them down far enough. My wheatens have black nails, and even I can see the quick, what a waste of money, they want to make sure you will be back in a few weeks, lol. if you are looking for an awesome vet, I recommend the animal ark, she does house visits, you will not be disappointed. These people need to know who Karma is, and that she really does exist.

Dr K is the doc that knows about eyes in dogs and I’m grateful for that. He’s apparently the only vet that takes a special interest in ophthalmology in Wpg. He’s a great vet and takes time to educate the client. The receptionist however, who took payment from me is deplorable and should be fired. I’m a cancer patient and have no immune system, so the less contact the better for me. She used inappropriate fowl language at me as I asked her to throw away the receipt she tried to hand me. After a long day of hospital treatment, I gladly waited two hours as you told me to come down for an emergency vet appointment, you felt the need to be disgusting, selfish, crude and cruel. How shameful of you.

Im rating this after seeing so many negative comments about the receptionist. Personally I dealt with Sarah and see was kind , understanding, knowledgeable And helpful. I appreciated her help with prices for my cat . I can't afford much since I've been off work and my poor cat has been sick so I've been calling around asking about euthanasia costs and honestly called around and had some not so kind so this is my preferred vet.

My cat was diagnosed with stomatitis almost 2 years ago at a different vet clinic. From the start i felt that the initial clinic didn’t truly care about my kitty and felt they cared more about the money i was spending rather than her health and progress. I tried another clinic and same thing. Then, a friend told me the vets at the Transcona clinic basically saved her kitty from a similar situation - so i made an appointment and it was the best decision I have ever made. They truly care about your pets here. My kitty has made progress that I didn’t think was possible. I am so thankful for everything my veterinarian at this clinic has done - she has explored every option, different foods and medications available and has given my kitty a healthier and happier life. I know now that if i have to have her teeth pulled, it would be because everything else has failed - where the previous clinics seemed to want to drag out one medication as long as they could before immediately moving onto the extreme of pulling her teeth.. I will never go to another clinic ever again. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the help my kitty and I have received here.

Money hungry scam of a vet!!! They don't care about your dog they want your $$$. My dog is sick just puking and diahrea and they told me X-ray was $120! So he gets that and some shots I expect bill to be $150-200,. Nope it's $320!! Not to mention they said they would keep him over night $$$ no thanks. Then once they didn't find anything on X-ray, they wanted to move right along to the next set of X-rays for $600+ !! So ,. If he is just sick that is a waste of ~$1,000!!!! Wow never going back!

I love the vet, and been attending the vet for 3 years now. The doctors are so nice and really care about your buddy. They're really informative, and not rip you off with medical expenses. However I only give a 4 star just because I find it a frequent issue that no one picks up the phone or that there is issues calling. A couple times I have tried calling it either says that line is full or just stops ringing completely.

Winnipeg is still in 'Code: Red' due to Covid-19, but my experience was excellent. The staff had proper PPE and although I could not accompany my cat into the building, the vet and staff called my cell and were professional and caring. A very frustrating experience. Our dog had entropion surgery and unfortunately seems to be experiencing a recurrence (these things happen, that's not the issue). I called to book an appointment with Dr. Konarzewski who had originally seen our dog. He understandably has a long wait. The day of the appointment my wife took the morning off work and drove 40 minutes to the hospital. There was no record of our appointment (despite both my wife and I hearing the confirmation at the time of booking). The front desk suggested that perhaps we had booked at another vet within Transcona (despite us specifically following up with the team which had managed our dog's eye problem). Overall, just a very frustrating customer service experience and an enormous waste of my wife's time. We have been happy with the medical service here.

Took my little chihuahua mix in for a problem with his eye. We were able to get in the same day I called. We saw Dr Millar and he was thorough, informative and was great with my little dog. He said that if there are further concerns he would consult with Dr. K, who specializes in Ophthalmology. They said they would call to follow up but they never did. It's fine, but it would have been nice if they did since they said they would. We would go back to this vet.

But you should not put out such a bitter taste for everyone else. Each person has the right to form their own opinions based on their moment in time but tarnishing other peoples thoughts before they get and opportunity to see for themselves is selfish and hateful. My experiences with this clinic are top notch ! Warm caring bubbly staff that love on your pets from the moment you walk in and greet the parents with smiles. I have seen this clinic busting at roof top with people in the waiting room,their phones ringing what seemed like every second and the staff at the front and back always seem to take it in professional stride. I bared witness to an older gentle mam yelling about how refused to pay a single cent more for his pills that he was sure was less on an old bill. The lady at the desk who was a senior receptionist clamly had him come around to view her computer screen and they were looking at his paperwork and a few minutes later he apologized for his outburst after learning he was cleary wrong. SCORE ONE FOR RECEPTIONIST who most certainly did not deserve his rudeness or very unkind tasteless words. I want you to see things from my multi- experience with kerry over the 9 years. She is kind, she is full of life and energy,she got to know me and my family and our friends we have recommended throughout the years. She greets me by my first name,she recognizes my voice on the phone, I have talk her ear off and she - always tells me it's never a dump question thats why we are here- to help. The day I needed to say goodbye to my fur son (big red to her) it was the most pain staking day of my life. Kerry sat on the floor with us shared a bowl of apples with "Red" and listened to be blubber and plead for more time because I could let go quite yet. Her passion and empathy meant the world to me, Red loved her and he didn't like very many people. She would always say i have a soft sport for big head kids, red wasn't always nice at first but she gained his trust somehow and after that each vet visit was so easy and more like visiting friends. My cousin in-law just had to put down their lab to sleep, they called into the clinic and got Kerry on their call. They explained how there dog took a turn and couldn't stand seeing their baby that way. They were told to come down and she would see that a doctor would see them. My cousin said it was clear to see how busy it was and that they were fit in but never once felt rushed or "fit it". Kerry sat and talked to my cousin who is really has a hard exterior but in his words crying like kid. She took the time to listen to their stories offered her own stories of her dog she said goodbye to. She waited until the doctor came in hugged them both and offered her sincere condolences. Now this is the Kerry and staff I know. The clinic is much bigger then I knew it,new faces here and there but the feeling of friendliness,knowledge,trust are still the same. My pets are all gone now and no new ones since my heart just can't take anymore loss but i continue to recommend this fabulous clinic. To the posters I just want you to ask yourself if you were judged over and over on one bad day or someones misconception of you, your spouse,your child, your sibling,your friends or family and then had that person put it out on social media how would you feel. Shame I hope.

I genuinely appreciate everyone here at this hospital, I cannot say enough good things. Dr K has been my dogs Dr for 12 years. He knows his stuff so to speak. My dog recently had a minor surgery and she has healed quite well. My pets Dr has called a few times to check up on her in a weeks time and I truly appreciate that. Really makes you feel like your pet is in good hands. I believe every Dr here is wonderful but Dr. K is our guy!

Trying to find a vet for our 10 week old new pup. The woman who spoke to me was HORRIBLE. They obviously do NOT want new business. She told me vets are not taking new patients and I should take my pup to the vet in Morden where the breeder had taken her for first shots. I was shocked as I have NEVER been to this vet either and I can't drive that far and want a permanent vet for our baby. She tried to blame COVID 19. Interesting lots of vets are complying with COVID rules but still taking new patients.

All in the same day. Nobody was friendly, in fact I really didn’t feel like they wanted to help me at all because I don’t take my cat there. If I was even thinking of switching from my vet to here, I wouldn’t now after my experience with their front reception.

Good service. Wait was a little long when I was taken in for appointment. Other than that, staff was polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. After the procedure for my kitty, I was shown what had been done and even shared photos of the operation. Price for a simple removal of dead skin and remedy of a abscess as well as stitching up the wound costed around 500$. They don't do check up calls after operation, and don't expect them to keep up with you, and your pet...

So far good experience with this clinic. The doctors I’ve seen have been great. My main issue is getting a hold of this place is extremely frustrating. There’s always issues with the line dropping calls and when they do answer you are immediately put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time.

I have to change my review - they're overbooking and it's pretty sad when you call to make an emergency appointment for your sick pet and rude receptionist said : we are fully booked up and we dont have any emergency appointment slot available. You have to come on walk-in basis and sit outside (with sick pet) and wait in the heat for appointment for an hour , two or three / whenever doctor will have "time". Are you kidding me? I'm totally not impressed and I'm going to be switching clinics after going there for the last 13 years. In my opinion.a GOOD clinic should have extra slots available in the case of emergency! and hire nice receptionist.

I called and tried to get an estimate for my cat, and the woman I talked to was rude and condescending. After what felt like a lecture from simply wanting a quote I ended up having to politely interrupt her speech to simply say good bye. This place my have good doctors (I won't be finding that out) but they have the poorest receptionist I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. Lady you should be ashamed of yourself for talking to a customer like that. Such ignorance, I'm glad I had not lowered myself to your attitude.

Our cocker spaniel puppy developed cherry eye at 4 months of age. After doing a ton of research we decided we wanted surgery that would keep the gland (instead of removing it like so many vets do) but were disappointed that our regular vet would not perform the surgery due to low success rate and high percentage of reoccurrence. Instead they recommended Dr. Konarzewski at Transcona Vet. We made an appointment and our boy was booked for surgery a couple weeks later. Dr. K and the staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and supportive throughout the surgery. We got phone call updates throughout the day and were made to feel like our puppy was well taken care of. I’m happy to report that it’s been almost 2 years since our dogs cherry eye surgery with Dr. K and the cherry eye has not come back. His eye looks great (it doesn’t even tear anymore like it used to) and I’m confident we won’t have cherry eye problems again thanks to Dr. K’s amazing work. If your dog develops cherry eye and you’re wanting to keep the gland, go see Dr. K at Transcona Vet!! He does amazing work that lasts!

I called to make an appointment and ask a few questions about my cat’s nails. The receptionist cut me off and proceeded to rant about something unrelated to what I was asking and grew increasingly insulting and rude. By the time the call was done I didn’t book an appointment and decided to take my cat elsewhere. It seems I’m not the only one who has had issues with this receptionist. I think Transcona Veterinary Hospital would do well to reconsider who they let be their first impression of them, unless they enjoy turning away customers.

We love this vet. They have always taken the extra time to explain to us what and why. Has never been interested in just throwing medication at a problem based on guesses. Always have had the best in mind for our pups. We LOVE how gentle they have always been with our most senior pup (14) . There are a few doctors there but we have always dealt with doctor bernadeta. The front desk staff and the assistants have always been kind and welcoming. The price has always been reasonable. The facility is spotless clean. We will never take our pups any where else. Will recommend to friends and family.

Visited this clinic once with my boyfriends dog; it was the worst veterinarian visit I have EVER encountered. Recently moved to Winnipeg and our dog has had allergies since a puppy. We wanted to get the same medication he has been on since a puppy (because he's had issues with other medications) and Dr. K REFUSED to provide us with the prescription. There was no legitimate reason to to refuse our request. We paid for our checkup, and explained the reasoning for our request. His reply? That medication isn't worth the script. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! I guess the medication was too cheap for his expensive tastes.

My 9 year old dog recently had major surgery at Transcona Veterinary Hospital. Not only was I informed every step of the way, but my highly anxious dog was treated with love and care. The price was also fair. They encouraged me to reach-out and eased my worries when she was on the operating table. The aftercare is complicated but the vet met with me upon pickup to ensure I was confident that I could do my part in supporting her over these next 16 weeks of recovery. I am very happy we went with TVH and will continue to use them for future check-ups and care.

Took our two dogs in as I’d gotten a reminder letter to come in and get their heart worm testing and pills. Also had to pick up some allergy meds (they’re $300 which I knew), and a couple other annual shots (for flea and parvo)... lastly got one of the dogs nails clipped. Total bill = over $1,150. I think that’s absurd, but you can be the judge as that’s exactly what happened.

I too had a terrible time with the one at front desk and therefore took my business elsewhere. There are many that would like employment. It is time to give this job to a more respectful person.
