Historically, we have always been pleased with this clinic. We never felt "up sold" on unnecessary services, were never pressured to purchase the sponsored pet food in the clinic, and were even given tips on inexpensive store brands that will meet my cats needs. My most recent encounter was much different. My cat had a droopy sore tail all of a sudden. We brought her in and were promptly asked to bring her home and give her gabapentin because she "swiped" at the vet 3 times. So they were unable to examine her. They had us put her on 100 mg of gabapentin the night before and two hours before her appointment. She was completely out of it. She was silent and could barely even move. They vet examined her and said she had a paralyzed tail. I insisted this couldn't be so because she was absolutely moving it before she was on the gabapentin. The vet insisted she should still be moving it despite. They offered two quotes $1000 vs $550. Of course they fear mongered us into the $1000, encouraging us to have a specialist review her x-rays. The long story short, is this, the specialist was a waist of our money, the vet even implied what a useless report they offered. My cat's tail 100% recovered, it was not paralyzed, and once off the gabapentin, she moved it completely normally. The vet insisted the tail was completely engulfed in arthritis, the specialist said she had an injury. When I asked if there was actually any arthritis, the vet said she's old, so probably. On top of the lifetime prescriptions and insisting we buy the vet treats (that one can buy in any petstore after a little research) we were being asked to spend $100s per month at their clinic to address this arthritic paralyzed tail for the rest of her life. Not only do I feel I was duped, I also believe the vet had no clue about what was going on with my cat and was guessing, refusing to consider any information I was giving her that should have impacted her presumed diagnosis. If she had said wait a few days and if it doesn't improve these are your options, I'd have saved 1000$. As it turned out all the tests were unnecessary and her advice was to put my cat on heavy narcotics. Addition: No one has reached out to us since this review was posted.

I had never been to this clinic with my pet before until she had gotten sick & had to be euthanized. They were very helpful & kind throughout this process and explained everything to me as it happened. They allowed me the time I needed to sit with her prior to leaving. A few days later, I received a card in the mail saying sorry for my loss. It really set them apart from the rest of the vet clinic's i've been to in the past. Dr. Kraemer has great bedside manor. Desk staff are understanding. They said they accept returned, unused food, purchased there recently. Provide clay paw prints with euthanasia. A symphony card comes by mail as well. Nice touch. A couple suggestions are that they not anesthetize the pets to such an extreme before euthanasia. Also that the owner be able to have more physical contact with the pet, during the process. Additionally that the nurse ensure the fur isn't caught, pulled and stuck in the catheter attachment. Besides these things (to which I'm no expert)- they were fantastic.

Our cat has been seeing Dr Saydack for a few years- she's overly-anxious and doesn't handle human contact very well... Dr Saydack just seems to have a way with her! Minimal squirming and she sits so well for her shots, when I can't even get her to hold still to trim her claws! We love Dr Saydack and the entire staff over at St. Vital Vet... always so friendly and professional in person and over the phone. We always leave with a smile- and our cat loves those catnip knots!!

A wonderful vet clinic! I contacted them in November when my boyfriend I put a deposit down on our new puppy. They got back to me very quickly and were extremely helpful in getting us an appointment for a vet check up and first puppy shots. Every time we have visited the staff have been exceptionally kind and my puppy Charlie has been very well cared for. Dr. Williams has been so kind and understanding and has answered all of our new puppy parent questions! Even through all of the COVID protocol I have felt supported and comfortable and have felt that my puppy was being looked after!

Dr. Kraemer and the staff at St.Vital are amazing. They have cared for all our pets over the years, but truly shone in January when our world fell apart. Our 11 year old lab, Mackenzie, passed of cancer, despite all Tim's efforts, and then our 13 year old cat Kelso passed two days later (we think it was a broken heart). The staff was so supportive and caring, and all our faith in the team was rewarded tenfold! We've since adopted a new cat (Kate) and a new puppy, named Frobisher has joined our family. Both will be happy to visit St. Vital whenever the need arises! Thanks again for everything St. Vital!

Stay away from this clinic if you love your pet! This vet clinic is more interested in lining their pockets with your hard earned money than taking care of your family members(pets). They prey on your emotions so you will agree to do unnecessary tests on your pet that won’t make any difference in your pets overall health. The vets seem either money hungry or they lack the intelligence to tell you the truth about your pets prognosis. I’m sorry I stayed with this vet clinic after my vet stopped working there. I will ensure to share my experiences with anyone who will listen.

This had been my Vet since I could remember, now only being twenty that isn't exactly the longest length of time. However, I was so disheartened when I witnessed Dr. Heather Wilton mistreat my Feline right before my own eyes. I cannot image how she treats beloved pets behind closed doors. Her sass and unwillingness to help my baby become comfortable in her fight with cancer left a horrible impression that I will never forget. I was astonished with her snarky remarks and how "There was absolutely nothing I can do to help." Which I find to be quite a bold statement for someone who barely even looked at the animal before coming to a conclusion. Furiously hurt and upset I was at a loss until Dr. Kraemer, had come by after Wilton said they wouldn't help me, and his kind soul took the timeout of his day to carefully look at the abscess in my felines mouth and give me some medication to keep her comfortable. I suggest leaving St.Vital and going to Grant Park Animal Hospital where Dr. Kraemer, and his colleague share coownership! Where you pet will be treated respectfully, and the staff actually care about your companion.

I took my new dog here to get his first shots. They told me I have to get a $70 pet exam as well as they have never met my dog before which was fine. I had to bring him back for a booster shot in a month and I had asked if there was going to be any other fees, I was told no just the price of the shot. About a month and a week later I called and booked my dog another appointment for his booster shot and all was fine. When I brought my dog in they informed me I'd have to pay another $70 to get my pet exam ed as it had been over a month. I was pretty shocked as I was never informed of that if it was after a month I'd have to pay for another exam. I talked to them 3 times and no one said a thing. I ended up walking out as I felt ripped of and all they cared about was getting that exam fee...not giving my dog his booster shot. While I was waiting to go onto the room the ladies at the deck and a man were talking about all the money they spent on new computer stuff and how everytime the computer guy comes in he changes all hardware to top of the line stuff...I will NEVER go back there and will tell others about this horrible place.

Have you ever wonder why only nice post are appear on Sty.Vital veterinary website? It is because they simply delete if you post something that they don't like :(. A week ago I posted my review about this care less place and how an very ill dog who was their patient for 11 years was referred to call another doctor for euthanasia due to doctor being fully scheduled. Good excuse, hey? So we did call another doctor who was more understanding, Do you think a week later after dog was put down somebody from St'Vita; Veterinary hospital called to ask how are we doing? NO - but the office manager did call to try convinced me that the care they provide is very good and I just misunderstood. Really? They do care - Kim said. Is this why since my golden retriever was diagnosed with liver cancer in April NO ONE CALLED to ask how their patient is doing? Never mind calling after he passed away.... POEPLE! IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!! I don't know if there is a better one but it can's be worst than this one for sure. SOOOO AGREE with the review of Chris La Clair - Dr. Saydack pushed me to do unneeded test that cost $500 and made me feel that I a bad person if not going to do that. HORABLE!!! Once again I experienced a huge disappointment with st. Vital vet clinic. When your patient needs you the most they are not there. Heartless and careless just paying attention while can get us to pay for tests and drugs. The only people care are ladies at the front .. But they not always can help you with your pet treatment . On Tuesday when I asked to put down my dog Dr Kraemer said that he can't see my very ill dog until Thursday at 4 p.m. I was speechless . And this is considering that my dog has been a patient there for 11 years!!!! I am sorry that I haven't chosen better place for my dog to be taken care of .he has been a patient of for almost 11 years , and on his last days he got rejected ! And I've got the offer to call another doctor - dr. Sawka. Who actually was much more sensitive that st. vital vet doctors. My heart is broken enough, I will not wish to anyone to go through this . I thought the careless approach was accidental with Dr.Saydack when my dog was first diagnosed, but not. Your clinic consistently showed careless and not sensitive approach to your patients. If I ever decide to have a pet even though you a one street away from where I live I will NEVER choose your clinic! Hope people will read this review and choose a different place for their beloved pet. I am standing behind each word I put in this review. Very unfortunate to be a patient the St.Vital Vet clinic. p.s. I WROTE A LETTER TO THIS PLACE ABOUT HOW I FEEL, If you think that somebody got back to me your totally wrong. Terrible experience. I will never bring my dog there again. They constantly try to up-sell everything. Dr. Wilton really needs to learn some bed side manners. It’s important to remember that during these times, people have so many issues going on that taking your dog to the vet for tick meds and heart worm shouldn’t be a horrible experience. I’ checking out PET VET in Steinbach. I hear they provide excellent service while at the same time, not cleaning out your bank account.

I have 3 dogs and I have been coming here for a while.. My German Shepard cut opened the pad on her paw and I called right away they squeezed her in that day and she went for surgery to get stitches. My German Shepherd is a very shy dog and could bite but they never gave up with her and took the time to make her feel comfortable.

I booked a spay for my cat, and they did not tell me they canceled it until I was there the day of, with my hungry cat. They insisted they called my boyfriend and informed him. All they told him was there was a cancellation, if I wanted to get annual shots and meet the dr that would do the surgery. They also didn't tell me my vet wouldn't be doing it weeks after I booked the app(which I can understand). When we spoke she told me I would just be switching drs, not days. They continue to insist my boyfriend is lying. And that they informed me when they definitely did not. (I had been emailing them the days before asking for instructions!!) They are unorganized since they frequently "forget" to order my older cats meds and wont tell us until we go to pick it up and it's not there. Its unfortunate as I loved dr beggs, but myself and another took time off work to be turned away and called in not so many words, a liar.

Staff are very nice and punctual...I have been bringing my dog here for years. But recently, everytime I call, I'm greeted by a voice I am not familiar with. Which is fine, except while I'm to her she coughs constantly on the phone! It's like she doesn't even move the phone away from her mouth! It's right in my ear and it happens very frequently! Now when I call, I try to ask for one of the 2 or 3 girls who I am familiar with because I just can't handle it. Especially during a pandemic. I really hope she at least keeps a mask on at all times.

I brought in my cat for a regular check up. When I arrived, we were brought into a room without waiting. Once in the room, we didn't wait more than two minutes before the doctor came in. The doctor was great. She handled my cat very gently. She also took the time to answer any questions I had. The cost was also very reasonable.

The front desk staff are extremely RUDE and condescending! My dog was unwell and it seemed more like a money grab than concern for my pet. It was test, tests and more tests with no follow-up. I would never take your pet here as your not allowed in the office even though other vet office let you come in because they have Covid protocols in place. You are relying on phone communication which is stressful when your dealing with your animals health.This is vet office is horrible and I would not recommend this place to anyone!

I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. Last year they did tests ($$) on my cat and determined she had kidney failure. Their recommendation was to buy the very expensive renal support cat food from them, which I did for a full year. I brought my cat in a year later; they did full tests again ($$) and determined she never had any kidney failure to begin with. No apology, no acknowledgment of their mistake or the burdens, emotional and financial, that their misdiagnosis caused. Unbelievably unprofessional, uncompassionate, and clearly focused only on bottom line and not animal care.

Although Dr. Beggs was only Buster's Dr for the 1.5 yrs I have been in Manitoba, she treated him with the care and professionalism you really wish for when trusting someone with the care of your precious family member. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to our precious Buster yesterday, but we are so thankful for the compassion the whole team showed us in this very difficult time. Almost a year ago my husband and I had to ship our Siberian husky from Winnipeg across the world to New Zealand, as we were moving there. We had all of our work done with these guys and I couldn't say more good things about them! They were kind and understand and patient through the whole process. We had no idea what we were doing but all the staff did their best to help wherever they could. We had so many vaccinations and blood tests done with them and every visit was a joy. Our husky made it into New Zealand with flying colors and no issues at all! All because Roberta and Brenda were absolutely meticulous and so caring, we got her here safe and sound and shes still doing amazing in her new home!!

The staff are rude and unprofessional, the vet ordered unnecessary tests, they misdiagnosed my pet and would not take any responsibility for it. Stay away from this clinic if you care about your pet. They are TERRIBLE. The receptionist is a neanderthal, you can never get through to them, you wait on hold for ever, the vet is impossible to speak to. I felt like it was a cash grab and they play on your emotions when you are worried about your pet. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!

I've been taking my cats here for a few years and have really liked them compared to previous vets! I assumed because they were connected to Aesop's they were open to alternative/holistic pet nutrition. Today I brought my cat Zoe in for a skin issue and the vet quizzed me about what food she was eating, and I mentioned that my dog is fed raw. Dr. Wilton word-for-word told me that my dog is a "walking biohazard". I expected better of a vet practice that is affiliated with a holistic vet. I have a degree in food science and am qualified enough to know that the food my dog eats is safe for him and my family. Even if I didn't, that was totally an unfair comment to make to any pet owner. Overall I was satisfied with the care provided to my cat, and the prices were very reasonable, but if you're feeding your pets raw I would avoid this vet office.

Very expensive they don't help people that are on a fixed income. I asked if they could help me they told this was not there policy.when dr snarr was there he would help who ever needed to be helped.snarr go back your hospital is going to go broke.
