For the 14 1/2 years I have brought my dog here, he has always been treated humanely and with love and care. This past Saturday we needed to put our best friend to sleep and very hesitantly brought him back to Mt. Anthony for that purpose. They were willing to take us in immediately and our vet, Dr. Hudson, made it as beautiful and as comfortable of an experience as possible. He performed this service outside under the bright blue sky. Our dog, Chester, merely fell asleep with his head on my lap. I cannot thank Dr. Hudson enough for being patient, for explaining the process and giving us time alone with our dog in his final moments. He truly did our family a wonderful service that day. Thank you, Doctor Hudson! Your kindness was greatly appreciated.

I have a few different cats and dogs that I take to see Dr. Peter. One of my rescue cats has to go more frequently for visits due to a major thyroid issue. Now, she is a bit on the elderly side but Peter does work on her as if she is a kitten with a full life ahead of her. She has undergone a number of surgeries and each time he has given us direction on how to properly care for her and keep her comfortable. He and his staff are the best.

I really like bringing my cats here. The staff is friendly and I always feel like they care as much for my cats as I do. The vet knows how to handle the animals so as to not make them stressed. The vet also knows a lot about about his discipline which makes me feel very secure. This is a veterinary you can trust.

We have an older small dog with a heart murmur and allergies and the staff have been very accommodating in getting us in whenever he has a flair up. The doctors do well at explaining what's happening and offering suggestions and alternatives, and are gentle enough with our dog that he doesn't get upset despite having gotten a few shots.

The visit with Dr Geannelis was a very thoughtful one of approaches which were right for both ourselves and our dog at this stage of our dogs life. The office was great and the prices for the visit and medications reasonable. If you are in the area I would not see why you would look elsewhere.

I have always had multiple pets and have been going to Mount Anthony Veterinary Hospital for over 25 years. The doctors, office staff and technicians have all been great. Their facility is always clean, the office is very well managed, their technicians go out of their way to make your pet as comfortable as possible for a procedure and the doctors will always give you an ample amount of time to explain your pet’s problem, its cause and treatment. The office staff will do everything possible to accommodate an urgent pet appointment

Fist time with my two senior dogs and our visit was with Dr. Geannelis. With covid 19 still a concern everyone was professional and made us feel welcome, with out pets ( my other dog goes to a different vet in Berkshire county and they would not let me in with her for her appointment, making communication of my concerns impossible) Mt Anthony's handling of my old guys was excellent, and I was comfortable enough to schedule both their dentals and lump removals with them. Prices were more than affordable- two dog exams with three vaccines came to about 150.00- I will definitely be moving my other dog to them, along with my cats. I highly recommend them

*Note: a few days after this review I did receive a much appreciated personal response from the manager.* I was very happy with this animal hospital until a few days ago. The office is clean and welcoming, the staff friendly and professional. The rates are very affordable. After 3 or 4 visits I was relieved to have found reliable care for my senior dogs. Then everything went wrong. It started I believe with confusion upon check-in, nothing major, I misunderstood about how I had scheduled my visit. The polite staff member explained that they themselves did not schedule the appointment. I tried to offer the feedback that I was the one who had not understood and maybe for future reference there could be a better way to help me understand. My feedback was a poor choice, I said "no no, it's fine, I'm just giving feedback" but it felt like I was being seen as arguing. In the appointment I went on blissfully naive, I spoke about a surgery for later that week, different health concerns I had for each dog, shots and prescriptions. There was growing tension. I did not know why. I hesitated on a treatment to ask an opinion, the response was surprisingly abrupt. I said sorry, I just wanted to make sure the benefits outweigh the risk. Then more tension over a prescription they don't keep on hand even though I kept saying it was fine since I fill my prescriptions near my home anyway. The doctor grew more annoyed over dosages for medication, again not sure why? That is what you visit a vet for. Then I remembered I needed flea treatment. After that I was told that I was "just too much to deal with right now". Also that "you have seen other vets, and we do things differently here." I was confused. I apologized, said I was trying. I was then told "just tell me what you want". I asked for flea treatment as specifically as I could including name, weight range, number of pills per box, etc. I was given the prescription, I said thank you, and walked out on the verge of tears without having finished several other needs. It was 30 minutes after my appointment was scheduled to begin, and I had 3 office visits for 3 dogs. 10 minutes for each seemed reasonable. Had I really demanded too much of their time and effort? I would gladly pay more for any added work if someone had explained it. I politely paid my bill leaving without some of what I had come for. I cried as I walked through the parking lot. Since then I have played out the events over in my head. Had I really been so blind to my own actions? I clearly said, several times, that I was trying to do what was expected of me if someone would just tell me what I did wrong. You do things differently, differently than what? Why was the doctor overwhelmed by my request for allergy and flea treatments, rabies shots, nail trimming, and a cortisone shot. Aren't these all common? I called back as soon as I was home and canceled the upcoming surgery, I couldn't possibly show my face there. The next morning after much crying and very little sleep I wrote an email to the manager. I complimented the office and staff, said I was sorry I wasn't a better fit. Thanked them for their help when I was without a vet. I requested what records they may have for me. I received a response very quickly for such a busy office. I was hopeful this response would ease my worries. It was an attached file as a reply to my original email containing the records and nothing else. Not one single word, not even the phrase "here are the records you requested". A blank email with attachment. I was really crushed. I think 99% of you will love their service. I have recommended them many times. My experience may be a perfect storm of missteps. I almost didn’t write this review, but I guess I hoped it would make me feel better to tell my side. This business made me cry, made me feel like a bad person. I’ve never been so humiliated. And who wants to pay someone to treat you that way. Enough people are willing to do that for free. Not to mention that now I’m left once again searching for care for my elderly pups.
