Here you will see the feddbacks of people who purchased the services and products of Urgent Pet Care (Veterinarian) in the territory close to Saint Albert (Canada).
Right now the business has a score of 3.8 stars over 5 and the rating is based on 43 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is quite good, and it's founded on a high number of scores, so we may think that the score is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they are pleased with the business, it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to place feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Veterinarian belongs to the category of Emergency veterinarian service.
This is an amazing clinic with very friendly, knowledgable, and empathetic staff. I will be forever grateful for their care during a very difficult time.
Great with our dog on short notice when we brought him in, even called in assistance for a X-ray and Dustin came in to help Very thankful and appreciative
Showed up with my dog who was in an emergency situation. all lights were off and door was locked when both google and their website indicated that they were open. Unacceptable when they are the only emergency vet in St. Albert that are supposed to be “open late”.
We are so grateful for Urgent Pet Care and their wonderful staff who help saving the life of our cat, Red, from urinary blockage. Thank you so much for your support and care during this difficult period.
Had to bring my cat, Jasper, in because I thought he had a UTI. Turns out that he had crystals in his urine and needed to be put on a special diet. All of the staff were super nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions and called to check and see how Jasper was doing a few days later. 10/10 would bring him back here if something else happens.
I was hesitant to take my pup to Urgent Pet Care because of some of the reviews but because it was in St Albert and in the evening I decided to chance it and I am glad we did. Everyone - from the receptionist, the young man who first examined my dog to the doctor were beyond amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and caring! The bill was reasonable and the care was top notch!
Don’t go to Urgent Care Vets in St. Albert! Just had the craziest emergency vet visit ever. The vet didn’t wear gloves, didn’t pet, talk to or acknowledge Tucker (my dog)in anyway, and had me act as his assistant during treatment. Honestly thought I was being Punked at one point. Poor Tucker suddenly started bleeding from one of his ears today, like ALOT, we had our own mini horror show going on every time he shook his head. I think it possible he had a cyst or similar that burst or detached, cause yucky things came out when he shook his head too. Long, gross story short, his vet couldn’t see him and I couldn’t leave him like he was so I took a recommendation from a different vet to try St. Albert urgent Care. The ”vet” with no gloves on proceeded to clean Tucks ear with nothing but lots of paper towel. When blood dripped on the floor, he tossed me the paper towel roll to clean it up!?!? He didn’t take him anywhere to treat him just a roll of paper towel on the floor by me. In the end he could make no diagnosis other than Tucker is bleeding from inside his ear not his outside. (Yep I know). He gave him a syringe of stuff to help stop the bleeding then had me assist with holding the now blood covered ear to keep the meds in, while he watched me do it for 15min. By which time I was covered in blood, when asked how I could clean up he put some hydrogen peroxide on a paper towel and handed it to me to wipe up with!?!? It was so nuts!!! And cost $178!!
Ironically my gf and I have both taken our dogs here for the same emergency (fairly large gashes) Both times they were super accommodating, got stitches done right away, and took very good care of our babies. If you are in a pinch and need after hours care this is a great place to go!
Brought my very old, sick cat here and unfortunately had to get him euthanized. The nurse was fantastic and helped me through one of the worst days of my life, losing my best friend of 17 years. They didn't charge me for the examination or procedure and also included a paw-print printed on paper as a keepsake.
I had such an amazing experience at the clinic. The vet and the receptionist were nothing short of amazing. They took me from panic crisis to comfort and calm very quickly. The pet care was great. I will be going back to the vet forever now. Thanks so much .
My puppy had gotten into some chocolate brownies, we had originally called pulse ER and they said to come ASAP to induce vomiting. Waited over an hour and we still weren’t triaged yet. Called this place they said nope come on down right now we’ll start the vomiting right now. Hurried down here, and they were outside within 30 seconds to grab my puppy. They made her vomit quickly got some of the chocolate out checked her heart and gave her charcoal, and gave me a run down of how she’s doing and recommendations going forward with her care for the next 24-48 hours. We’re back at the clinic waiting for her to come out any minuets now, it’s only been 30 minutes and the ladies on the phone are very nice. We will definitely keep this place in mind and call them before going to pulse or VCA first. Haven’t gotten a price yet but honestly I do not care. Best move I made was leaving to come here instead.
Beware!!! Not a real pet ER!!! Had a pet emergency. Came here and the doors were unlocked but no one was there, lights were off and alarm panel beeping, asked if anyone was there before I left. Not reliable, can't even lock up their shop properly. Wasted alot of time driving here during an emergency with my pets life on the line. Misleading business, don't trust them with your pets!
Cat had an ear infection that really bothered her and I was scared to find someplace during this time but they were reassuring and extremely kind! Everything was done so well and the doctor explained everything so thoroughly! I feel calm and confident having my animal be in their care. Amazing service!
I called and explained my senior dogs symptoms to the wonderful girl at reception; she was not only able to calm me down she gave me very useful information and advice to help determine if he was needed to be seen immediately or if he could wait until the morning for our vet. He did end up needing to be seen and it went quick and seamlessly. They didn't try to upsell me on any big tests the doctor was incredibly understanding. They didn't agree with my dogs raw diet but they respected our choices and didn't try to sell me on kibble or wet food. There was a trainee learning reception but she did a wonderful job explaining the medications and she was great with my dog. The ONLY reason this isn't 5 stars is because their waiting area is very small so while I was at reception a client came out of the examination room with her dog who immediately jumped ontop and actually attacked my senior dog who was already in a lot of pain. No one said anything or asked if my dog was alright or to help see if he had been bitten.
Awful. I was charged almost $500 for a “diagnoses” based on the assumption that, because my cat was old, she was sick due to renal failure when that’s actually not the case. The staff were extremely rude, they think that owners can’t hear their conversations when they take your pet into the back room, and they did absolutely NOTHING productive for my pet. I drove in from Edmonton to get my cat seen to, I told them that I was sure that the issue was injury, but they completely disregarded my concerns even after the blood results showed that nothing urgent was happening internally.
I just lost my close friend and companion for the last 14 years ( RIP Gizmo ). I brought her in to Urgent PetCare in St Albert. They had just closed but offered to stay open for me. I got there and the old girl passed away shortly after. There was nothing we could do, she had a bad heart and I know the last few months were on borrowed time. I just want to say thank you to Urgent PetCare, they took the time to help me when I really needed help. Myself and the family also really want to thank you for the heart felt condolence card that we received ~ John
Thanks for helping my kitty! I was worried about going in and having to pay just to have him looked at but the staff were super friendly and understanding and didn’t charge me a vet visit for replacing his cone.
Bad experience.
If I could give them zero stars I would. I brought my dog In to receive stitches after a dog had attacked her at the dog park no more than 10 mins of arriving. The vet on shift treated my dog as if she was vicious. To take her heart rate she shoved her in a corner which made my dog who was hurt and bleeding profusely very scared so she growled (more of a little groan) and instantly that was enough to deem my dog as severely aggressive so much that she made ME put a muzzle on. Then they proceeded to give me a laundry list of things they were needing to do. I told her I would not be doing ANYTHING until I received a quote. She quoted me $1200 to get my dog 3 stitches. We immediately took my dog out and to vet emerg on 97th which is known to be expensive. But I’ll tell you what, I would much rather pay for people who know how to work with animals in shock. AND with anesthesia and everything it cost me only 400 to get the three stitches needed and my dog was much more relaxed. I could never say enough bad things about urgent pet care and my only advice is if you care deeply about your animal to take the extra 15 mins to take your dog to a place that cares about you and your animal. That 15 mins will be wasted there anyways by them being in the back brewing how they were going to screw you around anyways.
I called in about my dog passing a foreign object. The receptionist assisted promptly, gathering information which she quickly relayed to a nearby tech. (Wish I could recall both of their names!) Within seconds the tech picked up with warmth and concern. She fully assisted with asking details about my dog’s condition, breed, and actively listened to my observations to assess if she required urgent care. Obviously feeling like a shameful dog mom for not knowing my pup ate something she shouldn’t have. I didn’t feel a sense of judgement or condescension even once. She answered every question I had and let me know upfront what they would do if I brought her in and the costs associated if I needed to without having to ask. Additionally, she sought advice from the vet who also advised to keep on watch but not panic. Lastly, she asked where I was located providing the name and address of the nearest 24hr emergency clinic for care if any signs should appear. Thankfully, I did not have to rush my pup in and was not pressured to. Still on watch, but impressed by their response! Review worthy when 3 people are quick to assess and provide advice selflessly. It provides insight that their hearts are invested in the well-being of your animal. Thank you for the positive experience!
Took my dog there for emergency stitches. Cost was close to 600$ they called me 12 days later to have the stitches to be removed So we brought our dog back. Removed them, sent us on our way. Next morning the wound was wide open and I called early, showed up when it opened and they want to charge us the entire procedure again. I do not recommend
The nurses and veterinarian were amazing. I was quite panicked coming in, and they helped relieve so much anxiety with how gentle they were with our pooch. They discussed all options and payment prior to administering, and were clear about what was urgent and what could wait.
This place is the best. Great staff and complete professionals! Thank you!
They were great after our dog passed. Very professional and accommodating.
Terrible, terrible experience. I arrived at 10pm when their website says they are open until 11pm. I called the clinic in advance after my dog ate chocolate and I didn’t get an answer - the voicemail said they are open until 11pm and that if they weren’t answering then they are busy with other patients. We rushed to the vet and the clinic was closed. The lights were off, the parking lot was empty. This is unacceptable when this is the only listed late night emergency vet in all of St. Albert - this wasted precious time during a potentially critical situation. Would recommend not even wasting your time with this useless place - you’re better off driving to Sherwood park or the south side of Edmonton rather than wasting your time with this place.
Very kind and patient. My dog was very comfortable there.
My cat got very sick on a Friday so I was relieved to find an urgent care clinic to have her seen. The website hours said 2pm-10pm so we were there right at 2pm. Was stopped in the parking lot by a staff member who was also arriving and asked what the problem was. She informed me that they wouldn't have a vet there until SEVEN PM. So I'm back to calling around to find a clinic with an opening.
Fantastic service! Very friendly and knowledgeable. They made time to discuss our situation and provided answers to our questions.
I can’t say enough incredible things about the angels that work here!! They are so compassionate and helpful with my corgi. He is a handful, and they’ve helped me out numerous times. It’s very comforting to have people who genuinely care about your pet and also feel like they care about you, too! Amazing.
Amazing clinic! Everyone on staff is incredibly kind, efficient and friendly. They even called a couple days after my kitten's visit to check in on how he was doing. The vet (forget his name) was very knowledgable and eased my worries by putting everything in easy to understand terminology. I recommend this clinic to anyone with a pet!
They were able to get my dog in asap. Told me fee's ahead of time so there were no surprises. They were very kind and sweet to my sick pup! Can't thank them enough :)
BEWARE - Experienced a similar issue to Nicole. Took my dog in for a small cut on his leg. The vet used a local anesthetic and one stitch to repair it, and gave us a course of meds, for a total of $296.74. The wound re-opened 3 days later even though our dog was sedentary, sedated and wearing a cone the whole time. When we went back to have the wound fixed we were told that my dog should have had a general anesthetic in the first place, but they used a local because "I" insisted that they not proceed with a sedation, when in actuality, I was never asked or provided with options or an estimate prior to them doing the procedure. Either way, they wanted to charge an additional $300+ to fix their mistake. The whole experience has been very upsetting for myself and my children who sadly witnessed everything. If you love your pets, save yourself the upset and go somewhere else.
Unfortunately my experience was less than satisfactory. I have multiple animals and have been through multiple emergency situations, I understand when I am being taken advantage of. The vet on shift during my visit was TERRIBLE with dogs, I suggested she find another profession. My dog was attacked at the dog park and her ear was bleeding profusely. However since ears tend to bleed a lot, you don’t close the wounds it should breathe. This vet wanted to charge $1100 for 1 stitch, I repeat one stitch. They prided themselves in the initial fee to only be $90 however I would pay $200 if that meant I would have a knowledgeable human taking care of my dog. I left after paying them money for nothing and drove to the vet emerg on the north side of Edmonton where they took exceptional care of her for $400. My recommendation is to take the extra time to go to a facility where you know your dog will be taken care of like the north edmonton vet emerg and skip out on having a terrible experience and lose money like I did.
Excellent care for my dog. She had pneumonia and was given quick care. Then Veterinarian is really knowledgeable and explained things very well. The staff are all super friendly! Great team!!
