I had a wonderful experience at MacTaggart Veterinary clinic. My dog was really sick one morning and not acting like herself. I called the clinic and the receptionist was very professional and treated my concern urgently and seriously. They had me in within 30 minutes to see Dr. Foster. He explained all my treatment options to me, and was patient with me as I decided. He was sensitive to my needs as a concerned "parent," and took time with me. I trust Dr. Foster entirely. Thank you MacTaggart Veterinary Clinic. I'll be back!

Dr. Foster is an amazing vet. He treats animals like family members and is quick and thorough for my cat who hates the vet but takes his time with lots of loves for my cat who loves going to the vet. My one cat needed a fairly expensive surgery and not only was I quoted fairly, when he needed less surgery time than was anticipated, my final cost was adjusted to reflect that. This same cat has had a multitude of visits and every time I take him in I know he's going to be treated with the best care imaginable. Even though my cat was new to this clinic, he was treated just like you would treat your own pet. Also, instead of just telling me the only course of action was most expensive route, I was presented with options from which I could choose. This clinic also has fantastic COVID protocols in place. You can still order anything from the front (food etc.) And the lovely front staff will bring it out to you curbside.

Dr. Foster and his team are all so caring and you know your pet is in great hands! We've been bringing our little dog here for about a year (since he was a puppy). He always come home happy and I'm still informed on my dogs health. I'll admit that I strayed once to another vet with recommendations from friends, but it only adds to how much I appreciate this clinic and it's team!

I called to get my dog's records over the phone for my pet insurance provider and the receptionist, Tina, seemed to be having a very bad day. She was very short with me, and huffed when I asked questions as though I was a huge inconvenience to her. I had to repeat the email address several times to send the records to, and when she repeated it back it was not right, every time. She got frustrated with me saying that she would just look it up. I am also a receptionist, and I speak clearly. I work at an office where we have a high standard of customer service and was most definitely unimpressed with her attitude. Unfortunately for the rest of the team at this vet clinic, because of her, I would never go back after being treated that way.

I had a 15 year old cat who had bladder and kidney issues for a very long time and we have been "patients" with Dr. Foster for years. He's always been knowledgeable and very helpful, and always willing to take the time so you fully understand your options. We recently had to put our cat down and he and his staff were so professional and kind. We even received a sympathy card from his clinic in the mail, in memory of our kitty. Dr. Travis Foster is second to none! I have 2 pets that get care at this clinic. I switched from a local vet clinic that I had been using when the food they recommended for my cat, Cruz, ruined his beautiful and luxurious coat: it almost immediately became full of mats. At my request, the MacTaggart clinic performed a sedated shave on him, and I returned him to his previous, but nutritional, dry cat food and his coat has been thick and beautiful again since! The MacTaggart staff were very good to my boy, and I was so impressed and grateful that I moved my pet files to MacTaggart permanently! Since then, the services they have provided have included: dietary support, regular immunizations and annual exams, treatment of some UTI's and one fairly emergent surgery for my girl, Morgan. I trust Travis implicitly with my animals. My cats are both rescues, and Morgan is very timid. Travis always gets "happy paws" from Morgan, and he is the only vet she has ever seen that she purrs consistently for. He is caring, gentle and treats animals at their pace. I have had my animals at this clinic for a few years now, despite living no less than 30 minutes away. I will absolutely continue to travel for this quality of service and animal care! We had acquired a rescue dog with a broken claw, and they were able to see us right away. They showed me how to clip his nails, bandaged up the broken one, and gave him a good look over to make sure his health was otherwise good. So compassionate and understanding... Definitely visit this vet!

I have three dogs and he takes care of all of them and is always willing to help. I have a little toy dog that requires special attention and special care and Dr. Foster is always available to help. I just called the clinic to book an appointment for my 2 cats for general check up. We used to go to South side Animal hospital before when they were adopted 3 years ago and moved to this clinic last year because of the issue we had with the previous clinic. When I brought in one of my cats last year for her health issue for the first time, I had already completed the form they asked me for changing clinic. The signed form was required so that health information of our cats will be transferred from there to here. So, that was done since then. You know what happened when I called them just now, the staff who answered the phone (I know her name), said that I need to sign up the form and also call the previous clinic myself so that they will get the health records of my cats from the South Side Animal Hospital...what's that??? I had done that long ago...and completed the process. Only then she asked me to hold the phone and returned after 2 mins saying that I was right. She found out (only then) they have all the records of my cats. So, the doctor may be super, but this kind of irresponsible staff who had no knowledge about their client (pets) is intolerable and unacceptable. She really gave me heart attack. The manager of the clinic should train the staff and make sure they are responsible and have sufficient knowledge on checking medical records of the pets.

A neighbor highly recommended Dr. Foster, so I took my puppy there for vaccinations and a check up. Both Dr. Foster and the front end staff were amazing. My dog is shy and takes a moment to warm up to new scenarios. Dr. Foster was patient, gentle and calm. He turned the door handle slowly, opened the door slowly, he took his time - we never felt rushed. Dr. Foster even put his head down on the exam table for my puppy to smell him! I am extremely happy and it's safe to say my 3 month old puppy has found his vet for life!

My dog Kiwi has been a client of Dr. Foster since he was at Riverbend. He has a great calm manner with my easily excitable clutzy dog. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful. The clinic is brand new, clean and conveniently located on the south side. Kiwi has seen him for a range of things including regular checkups to major surgery. She was recently seen by Dr. Foster for a medical emergency. While playing her eye dislodged. She is a pug cross, eye proptosis is something actually quite common for the breed. I got her in as fast as I could and they treated her right away. She is almost healed and due to them being able to help her immediately her prognosis is good. They really kept me (and her) calm during such a stressful time. TL/DR If you are looking for a veterinary clinic on the South side I highly recommend this clinic.
