Regent was the only regular vet open on a Sunday. My other cats fell ill after a recent adoption, I assumed due to a viral infection, and I took my youngest in to be accessed as she wasn't eating. It was near the end of the day and while I really appreciated being squeezed in last minute, the clinic was noticeably overbooked and I was a bit shocked at how rough the veterinarian was in handling my cat who is used to being handled - she was just a bit scared. The entire appointment felt rushed and the rougher the handling during the examination, the more anxious my cat became. The lack of care and frustration of the veterinarian was escalating and made me pretty uncomfortable but I laughed it off in hopes to not further frustrate the vet and have her take it out on my cat. After examination, the vet noticed a fever and a sore on her tongue but told me there is no way it was Calicivirus, which was my suspicion, as it is extremely rare (despite symptoms and that all my other cats were also ill). She insisted that the sore must have come from getting into laundry detergent. I told her there was no way as everything is locked up and continued to suggest a viral infection considering my other cats were also ill but she wouldn't consider otherwise. I was respectful and didn't want to push back too much. The vet administered an antibiotic pill it turns out later she didn't need and that was that. The appointment charge was very reasonable, probably the cheapest I've had. Two days later I was unsatisfied with my cats progress so I took her to see my regular vet who confirmed Calicivirus. While it was useless, I had to continue pilling the antibiotic until the medication was up. I won't be coming back or recommend this place to anyone. Turns out a guy with no veterinary background and the help of Dr Google was right. You should listen to your patients and not assume just because you have been practicing for decades that you are always right.

Easy to get in to see. We had bad experience at Lakewood TWICE and now Dr Pal will Neuter Charlie a week from Friday. ???? poor Charlie better stop marking his territory all over my house! ????

We have been going to Regent Park for around 4 years now, and are very happy with Dr. Paul and his staff. We have had some poor experiences at other vet clinics in the past and have been on the hunt for a high quality vet and we are so happy to have found Dr. Paul. He is so good with all our animals, very thorough in all our check-ups, doesn't charge for unnecessary procedures or work, excellent at answering all our questions and explaining everything very clearly for us. We have had 2 recent 'emergency trips this past year, due to our animals ingesting things they shouldn't have, and with one call each time, we were able to come right down and get help. It's reassuring to know that in an emergency situation, I can see MY vet, unlike other clinics that refer you out. Highly recommend Regent Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Paul and all the staff.

Fantastic experience with all staff. On a Sunday we took our cat in and found he had a dislocated hip. By Wednesday they had him in for surgery. They dealt with us phoning with questions about the aftercare. They saw him twice after has follow-ups to make sure everything is healing. Everytime we were greeted with smiles and hellos. I would consider this one of the best vets in the city with affordable prices. Thank you Dr. Paul and all other staff who took care of our cat!!

The vet was good, my dog is 100% better, and the bill for check up, anti biotic, pro biotic and de worming was very reasonable. Big plus, I got in to see him within 2 hours of calling...but it really was a dirty place...

My baby Boston developed the nasty case of kennel cough that was going around. My regular vet, a popular one on the way to Regina Beach, informed me the earliest appointment would be 6 weeks away in mid November. Regent Park, recognizing that a case of kennel cough really shouldn't wait, was able to see my Boston that afternoon with very flexible appointment times. There was an exam required, of course, before any medication could be prescribed. His esophagus was getting inflamed with the coughing so antibiotics were prescribed to help prevent the chance of pneumonia setting in. Exam and 2 kinds of antibiotics...120$...that was awesome!!! Then I get a call 3 days later asking how he is. Awesome again!! Thanks for taking care of my little guy!!

A dog attack happened with a pitbull and my mini poodle kimbo, they took him in immediately and started working on him. They did what they could for him but unfortunately he didn't make it, Dr. Paul and the staff there were amazing. If I didn't already go to Lakewood for my other furbabies I'd be going here for their care.

The vet was hard to understand at times but he used diagrams to explain better. The price of dental surgery was explained well and competitive to other vets. The other staff was also very knowledgeable when the vet(s) weren't available. Scheduling happened very quickly.

Brought my sick cat in who needed urgent care. He was dying. We sat in the vet room for 20 minutes waiting for the vet. When he finally came in, he was pretty aggressive with our cat who was freaking out. He made no effort to try and calm him down. He told me the treatment needed and when I told him I couldnt afford it today, he walked out on us and told us to go surrender our cat. Never will come here again.

I really fell our needs were accommodated and the cost of the treatment and medicine were reasonable. Dr. Pal was very reassuring. I called about getting my long haired cat groomed as he had a mat, and they were able to get him in right away! When he was there they called me concerned about his stool and asked to do a test for worms. I agreed and he did have worms. They saw my other two cats right away for weighing. They gave me medication for all 3 cats (and a different medication when they refused to swallow the other ones lol). All around pleasant experience and very friendly staff! Would go again. Love their hours!

took a tiny, injured kitten in through a rescue organization, and I sat listening to it cry after a very painful examination. I had taken it to another vet who examined it and I told them that it had a lot of pain and bruising in its' hind legs- hoping to spare the kitten more agony and pain by a new vet exam but it was hurt again- it had a broken pelvis. It was decided that the kitten's expenses were too costly and the kitten was put down. I asked the vet if I could give the kitten some pain meds that I had with me before he was put down and he agreed. The assistant took it from me and must have squirted the tiny amount out, as she came to me, telling me it was empty. I then begged to have the little thing given a pain killer and the doctor refused, saying it was sedated and that was enough. He gave it even more sedation. It could no longer cry out or move. The kitten took two minutes to die after injecting it in the heart with a syringe. Doctor became so irritated at my distress as I tried to comfort the little thing that he told me to leave. I refused to leave and he told me it wasn't my kitten, an he got more angry as it lay there breathing and I tried to keep my voice calm and stroke its' little head. People - it's time to demand pain meds before that final, painful needle. Please.

I have been to animal clinic and they sold me their food and my dog didnt even lyk tht. But this clinic is way good. I brought my daughters cat in to get neutered and that proceedure seemed fine; however, he contracted a really bad case of ear mites while in the clinic. He did not have them before going there and is an indoor cat. I went back to see what could be done for my poor cat and the vet was very rude. I don't believe that we should have had to pay full price or at all for the medication to clear up the ear mites that happened in this clinic. They should have done the ear cleaning for free since it happened at his clinic. He was very rude to both me and my partner and just kept saying it wasn't there that he had contracted them and that wouldn't even work with us. I spoke to three different vets in Regina that agree as an indoor cat who didn't have them before going into the clinic he more than likely contracted them there by either a)being around another cat that had it or b)their staff not cleaning the cages well enough. I have heard a couple other stories about this clinic including one from a close friend who brought their cat for surgery and the incision got infected and even though they paid to have the infection treated thieir cat still passed away... I didn't want to believe that it could have been the vets fault but today with the ear mites I will never be taking another pet back there. I would never recommend this clinic to ANYONE who wants proper care.

Excellent friendly care given to Helix by the vet and staff. The business was not busy and the fees were very reasonable. I especially liked that I was able to attend when stiches were administered. And no freezing or anesthetic was required. I will be definitely be back.

We had to get our elderly dog euthanized so he & an assistant came to our home, knelt on her dog blanket and she had a very calm, peaceful, gentle last few moments. They don't care about your pet, just your money. I went in to get my dog's nails trimmed. I was told $20.00 on the phone. They discovered an infection in my dog's foot, and said he would need antibiotics. Ok, no problem, until I went to pay and my bill was $ 113.00, $ 20.00 for the nails, $24.00 for the prescription, and the rest for an exam I didn't ask for. So I told them I wasn't paying for the exam, and they refused to sell me the prescription my dog needed. What a bunch of scammers. I will never go back there. P.S. the exam consisted of the filling of the prescription, weighing my dog, looking at his teeth, and checking his heart rate. What a joke

After five years of consistently coming to this clinic, my eleven year old cat fell into renal failure. The vet had his tech call me back within two hours of me booking an appointment and told me I was no longer welcome at Regent. I had recently switched a different pet to a different vet, because the vet at Regent said there was nothing left to do for her - Now Regent felt I should take all of my animals to that new vet. My cat died suffering, under a doctor he’d never seen before, in a place he’d never been. Thanks for not taking care of your long term patients, and making the last days of my sweet boys life that much harder on us.. I wish I would have found a different vet years ago, had I known you wouldn’t care for us when times got tough.

About a month ago I had to put down our family dog of fourteen years. Unfortunately I've had to euthanize animals before so I'm aware of the process. This appointment did not go how it was supposed to. The wrong instruments were brought into the room. Both Dr. Paul and the vet tech had to leave the room at separate times to look for different tools once things had gotten underway. A needle with a tube was left in my dog's leg while they went out of the room, resulting in pooling blood on the floor. It was extremely traumatic at a very delicate time. I'm not one to write reviews, or even comment when service is bad but this situation was uniquely awful. I was in shock at the time and didn't speak up, but wish I had. The proper care and attention was not afforded my animal and I just want others to be aware so they don't have to go through the same awful experience that I had to.
