We brought our sick cat here back in May 2020 due to emergency. We knew she likely contracted a virus as all our other cats were sick as well and just needed fluids/IV and immediate care as she wasn't eating, she's old and the situation was becoming dire. The vets were nice... but yeah, didn't believe it was a virus, they couldn't figure out what was wrong, spent probably a thousand dollars to investigate an oddity in the X-ray that turned out to be her kidney thinking it was cancer, and we took her home after 2 1/2 days in their care without really anything done other than a $2500 bill for a 2 night stay and an IV put in her arm. They wanted us to spend another $1000 on an ultra sound. She recovered at home.
Had a great experience with our 2 kittens. The whole office came to see them and made us feel special. Everyone was so friendly! We will definitely keep taking our kitties there.
I would rate this place a huge 0 everyone out there to waste your money somewhere else they charged my auntie just about $100 to drain her dogs ear that is full of blood and they never drained it. What a waste of time going there ????.
They treated my cat like a prince! The vets and vet tech's (and other staff) were all amazing individuals. I appreciate that they took the time to address my concerns, and just talk with me. They were thorough, understanding, and competent. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thanks for taking such good care of my little guy.
Took my cat Loki here for neutering as I could not get into my normal vet. Was a bit nervous because of the reviews but they surpassed all of my expectations. Got him in super quickly. Cared about him and made sure I knew everything that was going on. Was very upfront about all of the costs and options. Very prompt on getting him done. And the staff were very friendly. Made me feel better and more comfortable than my current vet. A few days after they phoned to see how Loki was doing and to see if I had any questions. Would recommend this place to anyone with a pet!!
I had a very sickly cat, one who was constantly in and out of other vets. He took a turn for the worst very late one night, and this vet was the closest to me, and still open. After about 5 different visits here, a few overnight stays, and many tests, I can tell you I saw 3 different vets here, 4 vet techs, and met 3 receptionists, and every single one of them were fabulous, and did everything they could for my furbaby. In the end, we were left with very few options, and had to put him down. They were especially respectful, never pushing for payment before I was ready, and every time we brought him in, he was handled with such care and love from the entire staff. They respected me, my knowledge of my cat, my choices in the matters, and my feelings, as well as my cats'. I recommend this vet over and over again, my experience was nothing short of great. I still take my other cat here.
I have always been treated well here. They take good care of my pets and have always been friendly and helpful with me. I don't have anything negative to say about them!
At first I was highly sceptical taking my dog to this clinic because of the reviews, but I had no choice since the clinic that was diagnosing the issues with my dog closed in the next hour so they highly recommended I take my dog here to be monitored overnight and receive IV treatment. I arrived and it was very busy, the staff seemed very stressed but doing a great job maintaining composure and attending everyone’s needs in a timely manner. Waited a bit and spoke to a Vet, not sure who I was more worried the case of my dog. Anyways, was quoted an estimate for the treatment and supplies my dog required, a low end and a high end price. Paid the high end and left. Called a few hours later to check up, no changes. Called the following morning and my dog was ready to be picked up. Was refunded a few hundred dollars and was explained that everything went well and my animal was clear to go home under supervision. *****LONG STORY SHORT***** The staff and vets were very kind to me and my dog, were very respectful despite the huge rush of people and I was in and out and was confident they would take great care of my animal. Also despite the lot of negative reviews, my experience was an ideal first impression. The total bill was high but imo this is the only 24 hr clinic in Regina and the equipment and tools required to complete the job and pay the staff working late hours ARE NOT CHEAP. I would definitely take my dog back here if she required attention like this again.
took my dog here at 8:30pm as she was incredibly shaky, foamy at the mouth and was constantly biting her tongue. i almost didn't, as the reviews seemed terrible but as i had no choice i did it anyway. i found the staff quite friendly and dr.wark was very kind. i found the service to quite good, as much as my bill was (short of $500) i found it a temporary sacrifice for the well being of my dog.
I took my cat which I've had for 15 years that I loved here. I had to put her down because she was very sick. They told me I couldn't see her before she passed because she was on oxygen. I went back the next day after telling them when I was coming to get my cat collar and carrier. They could not find my cat collar , a memento i very much wanted. They sent me home and the next day after I called them three times and called the humane society I learned they cremated my cat collar! When why the hell they did that they said it's my fault for not telling them I want it! Are you kidding me I'm cremating my cat and keep the ashes why wouldn't I want it. Disgusting business do not go here because they do not care. I am disgusted with this
Poor service from pet food side of this business.
Do not recommend this place! If you have another option, take that route. They will only add to the distress your pet may be in while billing you before care is provided with no guarantee they can provide an answer on what’s wrong and how to help. Not only that but they changed the billing prices on the receipt vs. what was paid on card. Will be reporting them to the better business bureaus
Good with animals. Poor in customer service.
I had taken my dog here several times, including when illness recently forced us to put him to sleep. The staff was always great. This wasn’t his main vet but my next animal will be going here for everything. Prices seem comparable to other city vets.
We have had our kitten since May of 2021 and we came here for our vaccines and neuter. No issues with that, although after doing research (months later unfortunately) I definitely feel as if we overpaid for the services received compared to other clinics. Also, the reviews here are awful. Our most recent visit was an emergency visit. Our kitten had jumped onto the hot stove top and burnt his front paws. The office wasn’t able to see us for four hours but they had us limit his food intake in the meantime (he randomly threw up twice after the incident) and run his paws under cold water. Once we arrived, they were going to charge us $400 to sedate him (as he was being too aggressive with the vets, which he has never done in the past) and to do x-rays to see if there was any fractures in his paws. I only allowed the clinic to do the sedation as I was extremely worried about infections (his one paw was secreting fluids when we brought him in). I knew the distance he had jumped wouldn’t have been enough to actually fracture his paw and he would allow me to hold and move his paw around and would only wince in pain once the paw PAD was touched. After I paid for the sedation, the clinic took over two hours to provide me with an update. Once I was able to come back in they told me he was absolutely fine and the most they could do was to provide some pain medications (pills, which my cat refuses to digest). I declined the pain meds as they ensured me my cat was okay, so I figured there would be no need for them at the time. They also didn’t even bother to wrap his paws at all. We got home and within 12 hours his paw pads started peeling, were extremely red (close to bleeding) and began secreting clear fluids again. He was also limping and visibly in pain. All the clinic offered was to have him brought in again, likely sedate him (again, as he was showing aggression the day before) and wrap his paws, which I wasn’t paying them for that. I understand that things happen and may be missed. But I am extremely dissatisfied with the vets approach to the situation. Four hours after the incident (and two more with my sedated kitten) they determined and ENSURED ME he was absolutely okay. I don’t see how after 6 hours, there is absolutely no sign of any burn. We are 1000% switching vets after this experience. I wish this clinic was more affordable and didn’t create such urgency for services that aren’t necessarily needed. Also, why aren’t your vets trained to wrap a burn site????? I expect my pets get the same treatment that I would get from a medical clinic.
Absolutely one of the worst vet clinics I've dealt with in western canada. They were terrible and what they did even had to be redone and they laughed about it. Recommend never !
I'm not sure why this clinic has such a low rating. I had an excellent experience here. I had gone to a different higher rated vet clinic where I found the vet didn't really listen to my concern with the massive doses of steroids my cat was being given for an allergic reaction/ear infection. In the end the steroids caused a lot of issues including a skin condition that caused a significant portion of her hair to fall out. They couldn't see me short notice and I was told to go to this clinic instead. What a blessing in disguise that was! My experience could not have been better. Dr Brassard listened to what I was saying and made a plan (which worked) to sort things out . The doctor I saw today for my cats follow up was also really great. Would definitely recommend this clinic.
As a very particular pet parent I was nervous to attend this clinic based on a number of unpleasant reviews. I am so sad that these reviews are on their page because I can’t say enough good things about this place. In an emergency situation we brought our Bernese Mountain Dog here and received exceptional care. The front office staff was lovely on the phone and in office, our vet tech was very sweet and knowledgeable as well as our vet, Dr. Paige Wark was incredible. She immediately put us at ease. I would recommend this clinic to friends and family in an emergency situation or not. Thank you for all your help Dr. Wark and support team! -Nicole, Matt & Wesson.
I brought my 10 year old Boston Terrier in as he was having trouble breathing. The staff were very attentive and even though it was Sunday night they were able to get him in right away. They were very professional and compassionate and explained things very well. Dr. Acuna was very calm under pressure as my dog went into arrest within minutes of arriving. Sadly the prognosis was not good and we had to let my dog go that evening but I know that he was cared for very well in his last moments and his team did all they could for a very sick animal. Highly recommended for all the wonderful staff who assisted that day.
Lied to us and killed our best friend - heartless clinic
Nothing worst than bringing your sick puppy to a place where nobody seem to like what they do specially “Dr. Mavedati”. He doesn’t seem to like puppies nor he knows what he’s doing. In addition, HE DID NOT put vaseline on the thermometer before putting it in my puppy. Never going back unless it’s a different doctor. Regina seriously should have another 24 hr dog clinic
My cat was really sick and this was the only vet open, so we came here only for them to give us "2 choices" to get her the treatment she needed which was $$$ but WE were going to go out of our way to pay it, but because we were short on $$ they were no help bc that wasn't good enough for them, So we took the cat home, And they had the audacity to say that they think we're cruel for taking it home meanwhile they wanted us to Give them 100$ just for them to put her down. Unfortunately she passed away that night...and It's taking a huge toll on me rn, I don't recommend this place. They don't care about the animals, they only care about the money.
I've had to take my dogs and cat here a few times because my regular vet was either closed or unable to accommodate because of scheduling conflict. I've had to take them for emergency procedures and all times have been accommodated and helped in a professional manner. The care and aftercare has been exceptional. The clinic has followed up regularly to ensure that the procedures have healed successfully. The staff have been helpful and compassionate when dealing with my pets and my concerns. Thank you 24hr Animal Clinic. I will continue to use your clinic in addition to my regular clinic.
Refused to sell my cat insulin when I came to town for work and forgot his at home. They claim they need to do on a full exam even though my cats clinic in Winnipeg has for years now. Let alone the fact that without doing a full day glucose curve the is no single visit examination that would result in them finding out his diabetic state. This place is a scam and a joke. Human insulin is freely available any pharmacy without prescription since it's life saving medicine. This is not a controller substance in any way, shape or form. Veterinary service like this are the reason people hate vets and cause them to not look after there pets properly because of dealing with these clinic like this.
Horrible experience. My dog was attacked by another dog ( we later found out he has brain swelling that could have been helped with a simple precautionary dose of anti-inflammatory) Was referred by another vet because my dog required urgent care, which he did not receive. They refused to help my dog until they had $1600 in hand. My sister offered to pay with her cc over the phone, and they refused. She said she will be there within 45 minutes, and to please treat the dog promptly before it was too late, they again refused. When she asked if they were confident he didn’t need immediate care or if they were sure the dog wasn’t going to die, they said they wouldn’t treat him until she paid and that they couldn’t be sure if he would make it, all while I was sitting in an exam room listening to my dog cry in pain on the other side of the door. We instead transported him to another clinic, where he was treated promptly without immediate payment, and quoted HALF the cost.
I only wish I could leave no stars. My year old male boxer went in for a cryptorchid surgery to remove an undescended testicle at another (better) vet clinic, but he had a reaction to the subcutaneous stitches they used, and his body started to reject the surgery site. There was a small black piece of tissue starting to develop around the wound, and I took him into our primary vet, but due to the long wait with an uncomfortable grumpy pup, we opted to take him to this hell hole. First issue is that the waiting room staff is inconsiderate and impolite. Second issue is that the vets here are both lazy and under educated. The vet we saw gave us a cream and I expressed concern for the black spot, worrying it was necrophagous (dead) tissue and the vet argued with me. I pressed the issue and he blatantly turned around and asked me if I was a vet. We left, and took him home. That night, despite them looking at him a few hours prior, his surgery site opened and pus and blood began oozing out. Left with no other choice, we rushed him to this clinic. They wanted to keep him over night for observation, which was fine, but kept him for 7 days DESPITE us requesting to take him to our regular vet. They claimed to be doing hydrotherapy, which we later found out they meant spraying the wound with water. Upon visiting him, i noticed the black spot was quadruple the size it was when we originally brought him in, and once more, confronted the vet. After him basically telling me that I was not qualified to make deductions on my own animal's health, and to stop asking, I had to fight with them to let me take my dog--in which they only agreed to release him when I threatened to involve the police. The vet expressed his concerns for the dog under my care after i finished paying the $3000 for their boarding fees and tests I never authorized. We IMMEDIATELY took him to our regular vet, and the moment she looked at the incision, she said he had necrophagous tissue due to the rejection that he needed to be rushed into surgery to remove it before it could progress any further. Out vet did this free of charge as it was a follow up and complication from his original surgery. DO NOT TRUST THIS CLINIC. They only care about money, not your pets. If you want a good vet, I'd happily recommend The Animal Clinic of Regina on Saskatchewan Drive and Garnet, who go above and beyond for your pets. Given the reviews on here, it would seem we're not the only one who has major issues. How unbelievably tragic that this place is still in business.
This vet has lost our business. I agree with the multitude of other reviews saying that they are only out to make money. I took my dog in for his annual check up and it was fine, despite the fact that they always try to guilt you into buying overpriced products from them. Two weeks later when our travel plans changed and we needed to board our dog, I took him in to get a Bordatella vaccine. Imagine my surprise when they slapped me with the cost of ANOTHER annual checkup just to get a $20 shot! I would have understood a small fee for the vet’s time to administer the vaccine, but a $100 fee for an annual check up that had just been done 2 weeks ago?! That, ladies and gentlemen, is a money grab. When I mentioned to the receptionist that no one told me that would be charged, she gave me a weak, “sorry no one told you.” She also said that they do an annual exam every time you take a pet in. This is completely unnecessary— do humans get a physical every time they see their doctor or to get a vaccine? No, we don’t. And if it’s an “annual check up” then if you have done it yourselves in the past 12 months, then no client should have to pay for it again. I will never take my dog here again and will actively recommend others against using this vet.
This was the worst customer service I’ve ever had in my life. Our three month old kitten got attacked by our dog and we wanted to take her in right away because she was in a lot of pain. At first, everyone seemed very nice. We didn’t have the money to pay for the treatment, so they forced us to stay until we payed even though it was 3am almost 4am and no one was awake to help us out with money. Most vet clinics would understand and let us pay in a couple of days when we got paid. But the receptionist was giving us a snotty attitude the whole time saying “why would you come here when you know you have no money? It’s like going to the grocery store knowing you have no money. That’s not a good comparison. I have other appointments to get to and I’m not going to waste my time arguing with you. I have been up all night so I’m tired.” Well most people are not up all hours of the night. The other vet tech was giving us attitude as well saying “you have to give us some money” and rolling her eyes. But as soon as the receptionist called the manager, she wrote up a letter saying that we could pay in a few days. It seems like the manager is nice, but the employees are very rude and only care about the money and not the animal. Very unprofessional, never returning.
I live 82 kms away in rural Saskatchewan my dog ate a chocolate bar our veterinarian lists this clinic as an emergency clinic back up. Off we went got there around 10 pm I called when I arrived my dog was admitted within 15 minutes they explained about what was needed to be done yes you prepay, BUT it's based on what they may need to do since that wasn't the case, they refunded me some of it. Yes you have to sit in your car, because of Covid protocols, and it is hard. The Veterinarian spoke to me over the phone telling me that I acted fast, which helped with my dog. At the desk I was given 3 cans of dog food and a tube of charcoal to administer to my dog. My dog is doing awesome, back to her old self. Thank you for saving my Dog.
Careless with making appointments. Seem to care more about money than the pets themselves, rude staff. Overall bad experience, switching vets after the last visit.
In and out in less than an hour at 11 at night to treat my cat's bite wound abcess. Dr. Weber worked some kind of magic! So thankful. Truly beyond expectations on this one from a veterinary perspective. Really appreciate the service.
If I could give a zero rating I would. This clinic has made it clear through their actions that they are only out to make money. They have absolutely no loyalty to the pets that they treat. I will be paying for the next 2 years because my poor cat had to come in to have major emergency surgery. They didn't bother to look for any other problems related to the symptoms I brought her in for they just told me the surgery would fix them. The vet didn't listen to me during the consultation when I told her my cat wasnt fixed. She came back half way through attempting to perform a urine test and asked me if she was fixed after we had, had a whole conversation about it! They didn't even finish performing the urine test yet I was charged for it?As well as other tests I didn't ask them to do that they added to my bill. Took days to respond when I sent pictures in regards to her healing post-op (as she had an incision the entire length of her body down her tummy) And when I then called pleading for them to just give her a free post MAJOR operation check-up to make sure everything was OK because I had already taken out a loan to pay for the surgery (which was quoted to me at about 900$ and ended up costing nearly $2000) they basically told me they couldn't help me and to bring her in because it sounded serious but ONLY if I could afford to pay them. On top of that both the desk staff and the vet being very rude to me over the phone even though I was clearly so upset and they knew which patient I was referring to. My precious girl underwent major surgery at 14+ y/o under vet advisement, I also took out a pet loan of nearly $2000 under the vets reassurance that the problem would be fixed if I did so and that she was "the nicest kitty they had ever had in there and had some good years left in her, as she was otherwise healthy" so OF COURSE I listened. I have never taken a loan out for any other reason but I wanted to save her. But that only lead to 4 more months of me watching my girl slowly die, and I will be paying almost 100$ a month for the next 2 years as an extra nice reminder. Sadly from the looks of the other reviews I am not alone in the treatment I received, which makes it all that much worse. 24 Hr Animal CARE (ha) Centre is seriously the worst vet clinic I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. And this wasn't the first time they tried to screw me out of money only the most off-putting - enough so I made an account so I could leave this review. I will NEVER go back there unless it's to make a formal complaint. I will no longer tell other pet owners I meet to go there. I'm honestly so disappointed and shocked... We came to you for help and all you did was take more money than necassary and abandon my "nicest cat" when she needed you most. And yes, she was the nicest cat ever. That's the only thing you were right about.
Friendly staff, clean facility. Cost always comes in as quoted. Best vet clinic in regina! And being 24hr has been awesome when the dog finds a porcupine in the middle of the night.
Don't go here unless you want to be guilt tripped into spending money on services that are twice the price here than they are anywhere else. Sadly this is the only 24 hour clinic in the area but I would recommend only coming here in life and death situations because it's honestly astronomical. I've never been more unhappy with a vet experience.
We took our little girl Mocha to them in serious distress and they diagnosed and started treated her immediately they even had to go as far as reviving her when her little heart gave out. They were nothing short of amazing with her and us. They even sent photos as we could not go in. The veterinarians and office staff are amazing and we can not thank them enough for all they did to save our girl. Thank you a million times over. Cynthia and Kevin and family
I cannot believe how amazing this vet is. They saved our cat twice after swallowing things. They are supportive, respectful and amazing professionals. I hope we never have to go back there but if we do, I fully trust the staff and the vets there.
very unprofessional been taking my animals to this clinic for few years now and have spent at least few thousand with 2dogs and 4 cats so we took my cat in to get fixed, two weeks later he was acting weird and scared of his own shadow they did bloodwork and urinalysis in which they determined urinary tract infection the antibiotics prescribed didn’t work so i had given him another from our other cats script from few months back which worked and i had run out so called to top up and finish his course which they wanted to see him again for $85 which they already charged one week ago before now they wanted to prescribe something totally different which i had to take him elsewhere needless to say after $490 they still wanted $85 to walk in to see him! the cat is doing just fine now thanks to help from another vet why do they insist on taking money every chance they get when i can get same service for fraction of the price? very unprofessional not helping people in times like these especially when most of us haven’t worked since march thx but no thx
I’ve read other reviews about this place that concerns me, but I have never had a negative experience here. I take my animals here for mostly late night emergencies and have went a handful of times (my cats are trouble makers). The staff here have always treated me and my animals very kindly! I have always paid a bit more than I think my usual clinic would charge, but I assume it’s a late-night fee. My favourite visit was when a training vet actually sat on the clinic floor with me and explained some nutritional information to me I was confused about. She was amazing!
The 24hr Animal Care Centre was able to quickly get my dog in for an appointment for an allergic reaction (big hives) to her rabies vaccine. Due to the covid protocol, we waited in the vehicle during the consultation. The vet was very thorough and provided costs up front for the treatment. She was given medicine to deal with the problem and the hives quickly went away. The service was friendly and informative. The cost was reasonable as well. We have been here before and we will definitely return. I trust them to care for my fur-baby.
They save lives..... And, it seems that emergencies happen on long weekends ..... We run a commercial boarding kennel and one of our guests wasn't feeling right - her temperature was low, and her breathing wasn't quite right for her. I called the 24-Hour Animal Hospital, and they could see her right away – yay! Unfortunately, the x-ray showed bloat. Technically it's called Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus. It's a sudden emergency medical condition that will not fix itself.... for a dog to survive, the condition needs immediate surgery with 24/7 post surgical monitoring. Dr. Stinglin's immediate diagnosis and surgery, and the clinic's 24/7 care saved this dog's life. We are so very lucky to have this professionally staffed and equipped clinic in Regina.
Wish I had the option to rate 0 stars. I’m sad this is the only emergency vet option in Regina. In an emergency situation, we phoned regular our clinic. They advised they couldn’t get our dog in after she had eaten some human medication, but to head to 24 hour clinic to urgently induce vomiting. We were away on holidays and this was what had happened while she was in the dog sitters care. They first off, wouldn’t let our dog sitter in without a mask, and then proceeded to say they couldn’t help the dog until a “file had been created”, even though our dog had absolutely, unfortunately, had to come there for an emergency years prior. I had to phone from my vacation to confirm that our dog had, in fact, been there before, reconfirm my name as the owner, and reassure them that our sitter could afford pay for it on our behalf. Their communication skills are lacking and they charge an outrageous amount. When I had phoned to confirm the total bill afterwards, I was only told 478.00, only to find out we also had to pay 85.00 for them to call pet poison control. Our dog sitter walked out of there with a 568.00 bill. Way to “kick people when they’re down” 24 hour. Just terrible.
We took our lady dog in because of an engorged nursing nipple. Our reception service was great, the ladies were warm and welcoming! The exam vet was really good, she even took the time to explain some things to my 8yr old boy, which was really great for him. The doctor was really great too. She was really direct, knowledgeable and kind. The way she handled Milli was exactly what I would expect for care. We were nervous going to a new place, but overall, very pleased and satisfied. ????
I took my dog here because her normal vet was closed; they took her in right away and helped her! She ended up having to stay over a few nights and all of the staff were very accommodating , allowing me to come visit her everyday day and calling me with frequent updates. Very great place!
Took my pup in when I couldn’t get into our regular vet and she wasn’t feeling well. They we kind and straightforward. I would recommend this clinic.
We called this morning to get our dog in today (a Sunday) and they were very accommodating. All the staff working were super friendly, and the Vet we had was very nice, thorough, explained everything to us and was very up front about costs and options for additional tests and treatments. She genuinely cared about what was going on with our dog and was super nice to him as well, even when he got a little nippy!
Their priority is money. Took 2 papillons here for shots and exam/checkup. One of them reacted to the bordetella and had to take her back. Bam...was charged for a second full exam and meds. I can understand paying for the meds but $75 bucks for a second exam when she just had one is crazy!!
The vet was kind and knowledgeable and even though it took a bit of time to wait to see a vet, she exceeded my expectations and it was worth the wait!! Thank you lots for being attentive to my dogs needs.
If lighting money on fire and burning it is a hobby of yours but the smoke bothers you then you should consider going to the 24 animal vet clinic cuz money disappears extremely fast here. It's basically minimum $150 to even walk through the door and God help you if they have to run tests. Avoid if you can and want to keep your money.
Very easy to get in and helpful with my kitty Daisy!
Thank you to all the incredible staff here who helped save our dog's life on September 1st. Tina, Sami and I are eternally grateful for for your services, skills and compasion! ???? She would have died that night if we didn't have you to turn to ... Thank you so much.
We had a recent tooth extraction for our pup at 24hr vet clinic. They had the shortest wait list I could find, and they were transparent with me about the costs up front. The costs were very comparable to all other clinics I called. When they realized the procedure could take longer than originally planned, they called to confirm whether to proceed, given the potential increase in cost (it ended up being shorter than expected). I was able to discuss the procedure with the vet after and felt that overall, I had a great experience. I rate 4 stars only due to a disagreement I had with the vet about the duration of antibiotics post operation in a puppy without an infection prior to the procedure (due to a professional background in the area). I feel that the poor reviews toward this place may stem from the fact that they are open 24/7, and therefore received a lot of emotionally charged customers at all hours of the day/night. While there may be bad vets here, I've been pleased with the 3 that I've encountered so far, and I don't think those vets deserve the rating the building has.
The staff and votes at this clinic have always been excellent with our dog. Not always so quick to push drug treatments, rather natural treatments. Would recommend to anyone.
If I could Give this place a negative score I would. This place is very unprofessional, and abusive. They put all the blame on the animals and throw them around. Our poor dog is going to be scared for a long long time after what they put her through for absolutely NO reason. I’m taking my business elsewhere from now on and would not recommend this place at all. Never have I had A good experience here, I use To work in a clinic and this is not how it’s suppose to be run.
Dr. Wark and the rest of the veterinarians and technicians saved our cat (Mig) from dying of a urinary blockage over the long weekend. Yes, the treatment was very expensive. However I was given detailed information, options and even a reduction of certain costs when I asked if it was an option. I was also given a refund of $200 when the treatment was finished. I work in an industry where you have to pay to receive quality work, and I very much appreciate the quality of the experience we had considering the circumstances.
In a panic I rushed my dog there at 9:30 pm. She was lethargic and almost non responsive (not normal for a 4 month old puppy). I had made an appointment for 11:00 pm, when I noticed her acting funny. When she got worse I rushed in, just in case. They took her to the back right away just watch her until my appointment. Watching people come and go the receptionist kept my mind off of my puppy by telling me stories of her dogs. When my appointment came up, my pup was a bit better, but still wobbly the vet examined her, said it was either a toxin or a neurological problem. Said we COULD do blood tests, but honestly, the didn't know what they were looking for. They COULD keep her over night with an IV, but she seems like she was getting better on her own. His last option was to take her home and try and give her fluids. He said, he was there all night, call if there was a question, or rush her in again. I decided to take her home. I felt like he was truly concerned about my puppy and not my wallet. He subtly guided me to the reasonable treatment of taking her home, not unreasonably gauging me. The best part for this amazing emergency service, was the vet visit only cost $79! Even though I walked out of the clinic at 12:30 am. I would recommend this vet to anyone! I am changing vets; before last night they were not my regular vet, today they are! AMAZING
It was late at night that we decided it was finally time to end our dog's suffering. This was the only place that I could fine that was open after hours (24 hours). I would have picked our regular vet but that was not an option because of the late hour. On arrival were treated with compassion and sympathy. The procedure was explained to us multiple times so we would know what to expect. They total us it would be a peaceful process and it was. Our dog was treated and handled with care in our presence and I would like to think the same respect was shown after we left. At all times the vet and supporting staff acted in a professional manner and gave the impression that they cared for animals. A week to the day of our visit we received a letter from the clinic. It included not only a nice card signed by multiple staff members but four individual paw prints. I was not expecting this gracious act. I read Google reviews stating that the clinic is over priced and they only think about money. In my case I was more than content with the service for what I paid. For my family the paw prints are priceless making them far beyond the monetary value I paid.
First time as my vet could not see my pet. Sat in my vehicle for 2+ hours with my six year old, waiting.. Paid over $250 and these “experts” could not get my pet sedated or to cooperate. I really feel like costumer service isn’t this businesses value. I don’t think anyone should have to wait in their vehicle for 2hours to leave so dissatisfied. I felt as if I had paid them because they are experts and I dont know have a clue . But I paid them to send me away thinking it was my fault they could not sedate my cat. I hope no one ever experiences this. Could have just been a bad day ????????♀️
My friend had a cute little pug, like i said he had a pug. he wasnt really eating or drinking, and my friend cantacted them about his pug,and all they wanted was the payment first before even looking at the cute little pug. so my friend contacted the humaine society, for help with his little guy,and lastnight he passed away, the humaine society tried their very best but could not save him this animal hospital just murdered a dog in my eyes. I will never take my dog to this hospital they were very unprofessinal. I do not recomend this hospital to anyone that really cares for their pets. Thankyou
Excellent service, my dog was attacked by another dog and was seen immediately. They require payment before service like any other veterinary hospital. They saved my baby Ben, I will forever be grateful ????
2 years ago I took my senior Pitbull here late at night as he was screaming in pain. They offered pain killers and told me it was likey time to put him down as they suspected he had degenerating discs in his neck. No tests were offered, she played with his shoulder a bit and that was it. Told me to spend some time with him then make the choice. 2 days later he was FINE. He had just pulled a shoulder muscle. He lived another 2 happy healthy years. I wouldn't take another pet here EVER.
This Clinic is a joke they want your money. Receptionist are rude. Do not waste your time at this Clinic.
Absolutely terrible place to take a animal would not recommend
They were the only place in a 'minor emergency' I could take my dog, after the dog park and paw pads being split open. When I got there, they said they'd take him to the back, clean out the wounds and bandage him. I was charged $215 for a cheap inflammatory drug. They didn't clean his wounds, or bandage him. $215 for $40 of dog meds, and lies about cleaning / bandaging. Hacks.
Extremely priced services. I took my dog there cause she was dizzy...potential Vertibular syndrome. I told the vet this and he went to check inside her ears and could even find the ear canal. It literally took five minutes and i can find them in about 5 seconds. It was questionable at that point but then he listens to her heart and says she has a slight murmur and we should do xrays. Im HERE CAUSE SHE IS DIZZY which has nothing to do with a little murmur. So we scratched that and he came in with the blood work costs...$320 just for blood work. I called my usual vet TMZ and they quoted $130. They place mde an excuse that at 24 Hr their services are exceptional...um you couldnt find her ear canal. I walked out and refused to pay for anything. I asked my vet and she said its cheaper to call the emergency line and get an on-call vet rather than going to this place. Be warned.
Went to the clinic to have my dogs leg injury stiched up and get anti-biotics. They took him into the examination room took his temperature, weighed him and looked at the injury this alone was $80. Then I got the estimate for the surgery was looking between $700-$800. I read reviews saying this place is all about money and now I believe those reviews. I would never choose this Clinic unless it was a serious emergency and I was expecting to pay upwards to a grand. For what should be basic surgery that would take maybe 2 hrs.
My family and I adopted a one year old Shar Pei mix recently. The previous owner had taken him to this clinic so I thought I would take him there as they would have his records already. I have never been to this clinic before. The staff advised the previous owner he needed surgery to fix his eyelids (common issue with a Shar Pei). I asked the vet to update him on his vaccines/ rabies shots, as he’s probably never had them. I also asked them to confirm whether he’s been neutered or not, as it did not appear he was (he clearly has testicles still). After the appointment the vet confirmed our dog was neutered and I even had them send me the certificate. Still puzzled, I called the previous owner who confirmed he did not have the dog neutered. The clinic charged me $300 for a few vaccines and eye drops and told me he was neutered when he wasn’t. I’m not a vet, but know enough to tell my dog is not neutered. I will not be returning to this clinic and am even suspicious as to whether they actually vaccinated my dog, as I had to wait in the car due to Covid. If I could give them a 0/5 I would. Not impressed!
My dogs tried to play with a porcupine today. They had me booked in asap and were waiting at the door when I arrived. Had both my dogs back within an hour and one even had to be sedated.
Very disappointed in the service and care. I would not recommend this clinic unless it is an absolute emergency. This clinics idea of good service ("gold standard care" as they say) is dictating what is necessary and making you feel guilty for not doing every last thing possible for your animal rather than having conversations about options and what might work best for each family. We had been taking our dog to 24 hour for a number of years with many visits as our dog has seizures. We were rarely able to see the same vet more than once and thus it was difficult to get a consistent care plan for our dog. We decided to try a new clinic for that reason. The new vet was great but was concerned that she may not be able to get our dogs seizure medication in immediately, particularly because of shipping issues due to COVID. We only had about 4 days of medication left for our dog but I advised our new vet that I was sure 24 hour clinic would provide medication to bridge the gap. Unfortunately, 24 hour refused to provide any medication as they abide by "gold standard care". This meant that we had to go in for $500 worth of bloodwork before they would provide any medication - medication that our dog had been on for at least 2 years. They would not even provide 2 weeks worth of medication. Apparently, this clinics idea of a "gold standard care" is putting my dog at a risk of having seizures. To make things worse, the office manager outright said that this situation easily could have been avoided had I planned better. This assumed that I would have known that 24 hour clinic would be extraordinarily rigid in their policies and that our new vet would not have the medication on hand. In any event, there was absolutely no understanding or compassion. Also relevant that this circumstance arose after we had been loyally attending this clinic for at least 4 years. We spent thousands of dollars having every recommended test and procedure done. Our dogs seizures were very well controlled and there was no reason to believe that we were not appropriately caring for our pup. This has been an extremely upsetting and disappointing experience but glad we have found better care elsewhere.
The 24 hour vet clinic is great. This is our dogs regular clinic since he usually has accidents outside of regular hours. They are very good with him even though he isn't the best socialized dog. I have heard from others that this clinic is pricy but I haven't noticed it to be more then anywhere else in the regina area. The vets are very professional and the front end staff are very helpful! Thank you guys for taking such good care of my coco!
When you have to say goodbye to your pet, friend and companion of almost 16 years you want to give him a peaceful passing and you want to be surrounded by compassion and understanding. On January 22 when I arrived at 24 Hour Animal Care Centre that is not what happened. My son in law who is an EMT was not allowed in wth me until the very end. I was ALONE. From the moment I arrived there was a rushed feeling,a lack of communication, no medical information shared to help me make a decision and a bill was presented for immediate payment before anything was done. My decision was to end Teddy's suffering and have the veterinian perform euthanasia. This procedure was not done properly, it was not within seconds , it was not PEACEFUL. I am heartbroken. Teddy deserved so much more. I pray no one will have to struggle as I am with this sad experience. c
The most uncompassionate experience. My mother took her dying dog in to be put down as the dog was old and suffering. They only cared about money They tried to rush my mother out of the room as soon as her dog had passed barley giving her time to say goodbye. As my mother was crying alot she turned and pulled down her mask to wiper her tears n nose. The vet got upset moth her and told her to do that outside as my mother wss putting her mask back on. Before they put him down my mother had to call me to borrow her money bc they wouldn’t give my mother her dog or put him to sleep without 700$. Now I understand this is a business but car dealerships have payment plans , furniture , dentists. There’s no reason veterinarians can’t do the same. Shame on you for being so heartless in a family’s time of loss.
Save your money go only if it’s a real emergency
I've heard and read some negativity about this clinic and after my recent experience with them they deserve more then 5 stars. I has to rush my dog to the clinic on Monday. He was in critical condition and comatose by the time I got him there. The staff wasted no time in treating him. We really weren't optimistic he was going to make it. Today is Thursday , barely 4 days later and he is now home with me. First of all, the staff are kind, respectful and very compassionate. No one wants to have to talk money when they're in a state of panic, but the staff here were very upfront and considerate when going over costs with this already stressed and panicked dog mom! And the vets...well I have no words...they saved my boy's life. Amazing communication and regular updates. I haven't the words to properly express my thanks to everyone at this clinic...you are all heroes.
Very helpful and caring
The admin staff are not helpful whatsoever and so so sooooo rude!!
We had to bring our dog in for a C-section. We experienced a few conversations over the phone prior to bringing our dog in, and were treated kindly When it was time to bring her in, the staff was kind and took care of things as soon as they could. They provided kind follow up and showed care and compassion towards us and our pet.
Despite all of the negative reviews on this clinic, I can’t say more good things about my experience here, even though we had an unfortunate end and lost our beloved pet. Every staff member; reception, techs, and doctors- showed me and our Molly nothing but the upmost urgency, compassion and care in an emergency situation. They did everything they could to help her, and although we ended up making the incredibly difficult decision to put her down, I felt incredibly comforted and supported by every staff member there. Thank you all for making Molly’s last moments as comfortable as possible.
Do not take your pet there. Your pet is simply a pay check to them. Transfer your pet to your vet if stable.
We had one of our cats brought in who is quite old as he had stopped eating and drinking for about 24 hours. We thought based on the symptoms he might have a blockage. Right from the time we called, through them providing a rush appointment on a Sunday with Dr. Lamont, we were very impressed with how they worked with us on diagnosis and a treatment plan. We have used the hospital before and each time it has been a 5 star experience. For people seeing reviews saying things like they pressure you or they are over-priced is absolute non-sense. People who decide to take an animal in to a vet need to understand that vet care costs what it costs. They are running a 24 hour hospital with lots of staff on duty and of course have related costs to serve the community. Regina is so lucky to have such caring people available at all times to help our beautiful furry friends when they need it most. Also, a special shout out to the front office staff. There were so many calls coming in and balancing customers, they did an excellent job. Thank you to the entire team, we will always use you when we need this kind of acute care.
Phoned to get price of endoscopy, was told I couldn't get one because it starts with an exam, then there could be blood and lab tests needed, this for a string hanging from a cat. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE $$$, don't fool yourself into thinking that your pets are anything but billable services to these people.
Had a horrible experience here the other night. Had a dog emergency and that staff acted like it wasn't important. Very rude and knowledgeable. Vet was okay but unhelpful. Won't ever go back. Thats two horrible experiences at the same place now.
I took my boy in who had a terrible cough. Some people thought he had pancreatitis issue. So I was giving two options = one %500 and the other $800. I took the 5 and did all sorts of x=rays etc. However nobody twigged on the cough. And they did not find anything on the x=rays. I had to go to my own vet and we spent hundreds of dollars on what was really bad respiratory condition. Cough .. for goodness sake look in his throat! please..
The women at the door is very rude with a unwelcoming attitude. I couldn't even finish reading the sign in the door and she whips the door open asking what am I doing here!? I can not beleive the poor attitude displayed at this place. Zero understanding or patience available for people that dont know the new rules.
I was greeted in an unfriendly manner and told to make an appointment. But somehow they had a cancellation. The first she said was this dog is over weight. Yes he was but that was not the problem. He was throwing up repeatedly. He was treated which stopped the vomiting. But I would never return.
6 years ago my farret was dying in my arms at 5am. I called down to let them know that I was on my way with him and they told me they didn't have a vet that would be willing to see my poor dying farret who is screeching in my arms which they can clearly hear him over the phone. They denied me to come in despite me telling them I will pay any amount of money to get a vet in that will care for him as they claim to take exotic pets and my farret was considered one. I got verbal swearing... not at them but out of frustration and they hung up on me. My farret passed away due to low insulin and pancreatic cancer which was confirmed once another vet clinic opened and I was told he could have been saved for a while longer with a good year at least had we had proper treatment. I received a letter 2 weeks later that I was banned due to my cursing. 6 years later my daughter calls me while I am at work saying our pomeranian is choking and coughing so much he is doubled over not able to breath at 1030 pm. I am a health care worker and was at the hospital at the time unable to leave so I send my friend to take my dog. After they get information about my dog they link me to 6 years ago and refuse to see my 14 year old dog because of me. I was banned not my pet but they refused his care and treatment because of my cursing 6 years ago. Highly unprofessional and disgusting. If my pet passes this evening I will be taking legal action.
Strongly Do Not recommend this place! Only go here unless absolutely necessary, because this place is a joke. Call around and find a better Vet, trust me. I have a long story but just know that this place does Not let you come in with you pet, makes you wait extremely long in the parking lot without any apologies or explanation, and they way over charge. If you want an amazing Vet, look into Lakewood Animal Hospital. You'll pay less and be very pleasantly surprised by the compassion and overall efficiency there.
If -5 stars were a thing, that would be my review. WILL NEVER DEAL WITH 24 HOUR ANIMAL CARE CENTRE AGAIN! I was in today with my family, our dog was not doing well, while my brother was in the exam room with our dog, the receptionist was quite rude and rather fake, extremely unprofessional and had zero sympathy for us while we put our dog to rest. She gave wicked attitude, not only that, but she also scolded an employee for not knocking on the door, in front of my family. Unprofessional. The receptionist, I believe her name started with an O, but I’m unsure, while we were waiting to hear whether we would get a loan to help pay for the treatment, which, is extremely high, while families are at a very low point having to put their beloved dog to rest, the clinic makes the patients pay over $500, fees are fine, however, $500 is extremely high, especially for families to fork over at one of their lowest times, she was giving us attitude and glaring while she scoffed at us. When animals are sick, or needing medical attention fast, the fee is to be paid before anything is done, so, if people can’t afford it all right that second, and they need to try and contact other people to get help, the receptionist hounds and gives attitude if you simply tell her you are trying to figure it out. I feel she should not have a job working with people on a day to day basis and with animals if she, 1, doesn’t have a heart, 2, can’t have the least bit of compassion and 3, doesn’t know how to properly speak with customers. This receptionist, has never been a good employee. I have dealt with her in the past, and she has always been extremely rude. When we needed the meds for our dog in the past few months, if she would answer, she would always take my number, look at the file, say she was going to put me on hold, but instead hang up. Every. Single. Time. She does not make a good face for the company, she is the first and last person people see, it should be pleasant. But instead, because of her attitude and the way she treats her patients/customers, people do not see it as a friendly environment. I know I sure don’t. As well, when it was time, a male came into the exam room to take our dog to the back for a catheter, our dog did not want to get up and go as he was getting less and less energetic, I grabbed the leash, and got him to his feet. Instead of the guy asking one of us to help or being patient, he tried to lift him, but when our dog made a noise, he went to go get a mussel. I’m sorry, but when animals go to a vet, they get anxious. Just like when humans go to the doctor, it is not always a pleasant experience and anxiety is a very common thing in dogs. I, because I was patient with him, got our dog to the door and in the back. The guy was rude and told me to “go back” even though I was just preventing our dog from being put in a mussel, to me, it isn’t very inhumane. The way we were all treated today, was sickening, it was extremely unprofessional and none of my family or our friends will be returning as everybody now knows how we were treated during the time we had left to spend with our beloved dog.
Money first before treatment and a very concerning apathetic attitude toward the condition of your pet. I took my dog here to have a raw spot on his checked out. They gave me some cream for his head and said that would clear it up in about two weeks. Whole visit cost me $200 and after the two weeks were up the spot was worse. I took him to another vet and it turned out he had an ear infection that was driving him to scratch at his head to try and get some relief. Don't risk your pet by taking it here as it is very clear the vets just want money and don't care if they actually help or not.
I had a horrible experience at this clinic. I had an emergency with my dog on a Sunday. My usual vet was closed. The support staff were nice enough and showed some kindness, but the vet was curt and dismissive, becoming angry when I didn't understand her questions or gave the "wrong" answers. I did not appreciate her harsh judgement when I decided not to follow her expensive treatment plan. It was very unprofessional. She does not know my situation at all and her judgement was out of place. I am thankful for the emergency service they provided, but I will not go there again.
I took my beloved cat into this clinic thinking they could help him. Mandy Chan was only concerned with a higher bill. Just by the physical exam she knew he was dehydrated & his colon was backed up. She gave me a $1,200 estimate that I told her I couldn't afford. Now knowing that I couldn't afford a lot, & if she truly cared about the animals health, she could have suggested doing the treatment (enema & IV) for what she knew was wrong. Instead she convinced me to do expensive tests. The expensive tests confirmed what she ALREADY KNEW. So then she suggested I just put my cat down. She was a cold, unfeeling robot. Her voice didn't have an ounce of sympathy in it. While me and my daughter cried she looked bored. We walked away with a $500 bill & a sick cat who was just as sick as he was when we walked in the door because he had received no treatment.
If I could give 0 stars I would. This used to be a good place to bring your animals. We used to bring all of our animals here but with recent issues of them overcharging and not being able to read files properly we'll not bring out animals back. Absolute garbage place now. Would not recommend bringing your animals here .
I cannot thank this place enough. My pomeranian with no history of health problems started having a seizure that wouldn't stop. we called the clinic from the car with our emergency and they met me at the door and took him immediately. they took amazing care of him and I firmly believe saved his life. my husband and I were very emotional and they were very compassionate and kept us in the loop at every stage during his 2 night stay at the clinic. hes home now and back to his old self on the medications he was given. I'm so grateful.
The staff was very supportive and kind in our pups last hours. Thank you.
This clinic was there when we needed them, they were able to rush our little guy in very quickly. They helped us get our little guy healthy again. They are very professional and thorough when talking about the care he required. They made sure to let us know what kind of symptoms we should look for as well as potential other causes(for illness). We will definitely use their services again.
I have had nothing but bad experiences here. They are constantly unprofessional and borderline rude. The emergency animal care I received here was hectic and unhelpful. When dealing with our cat- After three days- they told us there was nothing more they could do- besides an extremely expensive and invasive surgery we decided to get a second opinion. They refused to release our own cat to us, telling us it would kill him and that another opinion wouldn't make a difference. Once we finally got him released to us, he was saved by another vet in under a day- with options this clinic didn't ever present to us. No invasive and expensive surgery was ever needed- by the way.
I was really worried about taking my chocolate lab here after reading the reviews but he needed emergency surgery. We drove from Estevan for an ultrasound and found out our dog had a tumour that ruptured his spleen and he was bleeding out internally. We paid the high end cost up front and his surgery was performed in under 2 hours and they kept him for 2 nights for monitoring. We ended up getting half of our money refunded back to us as his surgery went well, without complications. The vet was very upfront and professional about our dog’s chances of survival, helping us make an informed decision. The front desk attendants were very helpful and accommodating. Just be mindful that they are one of the only clinics open on weekends so Saturday and Sunday are obviously very busy days and staff can easily be stressed out.
Do not under any circumstances take your pets to this place they are only interested in your money and then we'll tell you whatever is necessary to get it. Only take your pets when it is extremely necessary for their health safety and well-being as these guys will try and take every last dollar and dime that they possibly can.
I have had to bring my sweet Cleo here three times when she wasn’t able to be seen at her regular vet office. They worked promptly to get her in, there was a bit of a wait but nothing alarming. The prices for sedated xrays were reasonable. They communicated with me very well. I’ve been very pleased with the services. I’m leaving a review as I think that the low reviews here are unfair and not thought out. We all get incredibly emotional with our animals as we should, that being said you have to remember the people working here are humans too. Their jobs are incredibly stressful as they are our ONLY emergency hospital for animals. Their prices are a bit higher as they have to have a full staff on 24/7 - 365. It’s not a “money grab” their services are valuable and we’re lucky to have this clinic. They are doing the absolute best they can and it’s unfortunate that people think their prices are an act of malice or greed. Don’t forget they have feeling too.
A couple negative experiences, once over pricing and treatment procedures and once over dog food choices, the vet was argumentative and confrontational with us...the customer.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with the 24 hour vet clinic. We brought our cat here as our regular Vet clinic was closed. Our cat, who also happens to be diabetic, couldn't use her left hind leg and was displaying signs of pain and discomfort. The vet assigned to our cat said she wasn't concerned about her lame leg though she did want to do $1000 worth of tests in relation to her diabetes. We obviously said to go ahead with it because we are not Vetrinarians and did not know any better. Any concerns about her leg were dismissed. When we picked up our cat the following morning (an overnight stay was required) we were informed our cat was fine except for a small amount of bacteria indicating a UTI. Any questions about our cat's lame leg were met with "we didn't notice anything" and "sometimes cats with a UTI will act weird", "take a video if the limping returns". I filmed a video of our cat as soon as we returned home as her limping had worsened. This video was emailed to the 24 hour vet clinic questioning how they missed our cat's very obvious inability to use her leg. We then took her to our regular Vet where an actual xray was taken. We were informed that a tendon in our cat's leg was torn and she would require a cast. The Vet was only able to apply a splint at first because of the massive amount of swelling around the injured area. Our cat will have to wear the splint/cast for 6 weeks. We are truly grateful for the care our pets receive from our regular clinic. While waiting at our regular Vet clinic we unknowingly received a phone call from the 24 hour vet clinic in relation to the video I emailed them. We were given a window of time in which to contact them though we received the message to late. We decided against contacting them because, really, what kind of conversation could be had. We feel we were scammed out of $1000, nothing anyone at that clinic could say will change our minds on that. We went here against our better judgement but when it's late at night and your pet needs help there is no other option. Regina desperately needs an alternative 24 hour Vet clinic.
This vet is just trying to get your money I wouldn't take my dog there unless I absolutely had too.
Rude lady on the phone. No help at all.
Do not recommend at all. Turned away my pregnant dog in an emergency because i didn’t have funds to pay (prior to surgery) for an emergency c-section they estimated at $2,751.89. (Usually I pay after care is provided) I was billed for an X-ray to confirm what we already knew (puppy stuck) sedated her for the x-ray and gave meds to help contractions. Advised us it wasn’t safe to take her home without the surgery that night but lacked the understanding of needing a day or two to pay the amount above. Throughout the entire visit (before proceeding with anything) Dr.Camilo needed constant reassurance of having the funds to pay for their “care” (I wouldn’t have taken her in if I didn’t have money for regular examination with x-ray). Anything that came after that, I made clear I had contacted my lawyer (1 day prior to this visit) to release $5,000 in a trust fund that had taken a day or two to be release to me. The receptionist Harley Edin felt the need to apologize to another customer for not being in her work clothes during billing of picking up of that costumers dog and said “she was hoping to be on her way home until something happened”. The something that happened was me waiting outside for a ride, being checked upon by staff to make sure I wasn’t bailing out on the bill. I had every intention to pay for the bill but thought if my dog needed a surgery that I knew was going to be over 2k prior to that visit, I’d keep the money I had for the xray billing ($258) as a down payment towards a possible c-section at a different clinic. My mother had paid half of the amount and Harley Edin didn’t agree for the remainder to be paid on the following Friday (January 31, 2020). After calling their supervisor it had been approved to pay the remaining amount on date listed above. Long story short, the team at Animal Clinic of Regina happened to pull the puppy through the birth canal, flushed my dogs uterus and prescribed antibiotics for the infection of the puppy rotting inside her. I was only billed $190 for their help to save my dogs life but they also prevented an unnecessary surgery she did not need. Dr. Sereda and her team were passionate and very caring, not afraid to approach my distressed dog and made her comfortable as possible as they performed the care my dog needed.
Thank you for all the compassion the staff at this vet office provided to me when I had to make a difficult decision for my beloved cat Howard. It was unexpected and 8 days before Christmas as I was home from out of province, the vet office made sure his passing was peaceful and the front desk made sure I would have his ashes ready to pick up before going back to Alberta. I had never said goodbye to a pet before and the vet was kind and gentle talking me through it. I am also grateful for receiving a card and my cat's paw prints that I will cherish. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I called yesterday to have my cat looked at. It was somewhat of an emergency, but not super pressing. They got me in at 8:30pm, which I did not have to pay for after hours. The staff and vet were all so friendly, understanding and extremely comforting. They listened to my concerns, treated my cat as if he were theirs, and took the time to explain to me in detail the problem, and the aftercare. Thank you so much for your kindness and patience with us. We will continue to use 24Hr Animal Care Centre as our home veterinary clinic.
Please Don't let the negative reviews on here deter you from taking your pet in to seek medical care, I almost did! I had the best veterinary care that I've ever experienced in Regina. Dr. Paige Wark is amazing, she took the time to get to know my cat and take a step-by-step approach to diagnosing and treating her. My cat hadn't eaten in nearly a week and I had brought her in to her regular vet multiple times over the week as I was concerned. I was so concerned late on Friday I called her regular vet and they would not see me, so I waited a couple more hours and called the 24hr vet and they told me to come in as soon as I could. Dr. Wark is so intelligent and her background in immunology is evident as she really understands disease process. I trusted her immediately. They kept my cat overnight, I spent less here than I spent at my regular vet who offered no compassion or help and now my cat is well and eating again. In the morning Dr. Wark called me and gave me an update, when I arrived to pick my cat up, she had been brushed, washed and hairballs clipped. She had stopped grooming herself too and as a long hair cat she was a mess and she wouldn't let me touch her. I will seek care here for all of my animals from here on out - I have seen many Vets over the course of my life as I've involved in animal rescue and have always had animals around and this is by far the best place to go!
Attention! I want to warn everyone. If you bring your pet to this clinic, you are putting him at mortal risk. We had a bad experience with taking our cat for medical tests. When we took him home he was so stressed that he seemed to have gone through all the circles of Hell. The next day, bruises appeared around his neck, as if they wanted to strangle him there. We paid more than $ 1000 for this torture. After our complaint, they said that we can bring the cat again for a check. I think that I will never come to this butcher shop again.
The absolute worst experience. My cat was in need of emergency care 10:30 at night. They wanted 1500 upfront or would let her die. I said I get paid at midnight. I will pay them then 1.5 hr wait. They refused. Said it is policy. Money first from all customers emergency or not. I called Sherwood vet clinic who took her right away. It is all about money at 24 hr clinic. It is policy you know. Let them die or pay first
MY dog had a ruptured ulcer and they were supposed to watch her overnight. They didn't and she aspirated which they did not recognize until much later. They demanded pay for that service!
We had rush our big boy Sarge there unexpectedly and with a serious emergency, staff were ready for us and rushed him in- he had surgery, but unfortunately he succumbed to the irreversible damage that had occurred.from gasteic bloat and on his 8th birthday! The staff from the tech and the vets , to the manager were very compassionate and interested in who he was! They called updating us on his condition no matter the hour! When we went to say goodbye they had him laying as if he was sleeping , they gave us as much time as we needed to ! They requested a necropsy to help understand what happened and we agreed! The outcome was out of everyone's hands! Our family got some closure by this! The team at the clinic did everything they could and watched him closely! They inked his pawsprints for us and sign a card! Our family expresses out heartfelt thanks for everything the team did!
Once again seeing a comment on the Lost and Found dogs page regarding a finder being turned away. Does the Clinic not realize the negative perception this type of action gives the general public regarding your clinic. I would think that with your ratings continuing to fall and loss of clientele you would be making an effort to improve your Customer Service and empathy for the animals.
I've had to take pets to the 24hr clinic a few separate times and both times it was after regular office hours. I am so thankful that we have a 24hr clinic available to us in Regina. Thank you guys for everything that you do
My dog and I are regulars here because of his heart medications. Every time we are greeted so warmly and professionally. The vet we work with is awesome and so good with my dog. I haven't found any issues with pricing or anything. 100% would recommend.
Our Berner had been throwing up, was shaking, crying, and seemed like he was getting bursts of pain. It was 9pm, so called this vet clinic to see if they could help, as our normal vet clinic was closed. The person on the phone was very helpful, very empathetic, and kind. She could hear my dog crying in the background and gave us some options of when we could come in. We chose to take him asap. My husband drove our dog there and said the experience from the time he pulled up to the time he left was really great. He was home within 2 hours. I'd like to give 4.5 stars just because my husband was asked to wait in the waiting area. From my understanding, the owners don't go into the exam room with their pet. I'm not a fan of this, but our dog received great care so 5 stars from us. We would use this place again in an emergency situation. Thanks for being so caring!
The staff are so friendly and helpful! The doctors are very professional and so kind! They provide information, treatment options and follow up. Excellent!
If I could I would give negative stars to them..it was such an awful experience with these guys. Our cat was suffering from UTI and we had to take him in emergency at night as he couldn’t pee. They gave us two options 1. Pay $1900 for the treatment 2. Put our cat down We requested the vet just to treat our cat for the time being and in morning we’ll be taking our cat to our regular vet and we paid for the treatment done at night. Guess what in the morning when we went to take our cat back, the other vet came and she said rudely that they had to start the treatment again and we have to give them $1900 ( because we did not pay them $1900 at the first), other option is to put our cat down. Well nobody has this right to say “put your cat down”. We were trying our best to save our cat. We refused for the further treatment at this clinic and took our cat to the other clinic. Thanks God our cat is in good health now. They will just play with your emotions to make money. They will try to milk you just to snatch your money. They are just rippers. I’ll never ever recommend this clinic.
Literally the most useless and unprofessional emergency clinic I've ever had the misfortune of seeing. Cheap, at least. But then you get what you pay for.
Not one to write a review but so incredibly unimpressed with this clinic. Based on the reputation its disheartening its the only emergency clinic as you often have no choice but to go here. We were charged and quoted an unnecessary amount for something that was not needed - which was established at the second visit when we finally actually saw a vet. After dealing with the manager I was left way more frustrated than before the phone call. I was told to be thankful they didn't just charge us and do the procedure without having another vet come in and assess our dog as most clinics would do that?! We were told to seek other 24 hour care in an emergency situation - which there IS NONE. Im sure if there was, this place would not have emergency business.
We brought our boxer here to get a soft tissue sarcoma removed that was cancerous. Doc. Wark was awesome and did an excellent job of removing the lump. The technicians and both doc Wark and doc Ioannou have been excellent with our boxer. We lived in Edmonton and had a choice of bringing him here or to the Gaurdian Vet Hospital in Edmonton. We choice to bring him here as we have had taken him and our other dogs to Guardian before. From our experience the 24 Hr Animal Care Center is 100 percent better and less expensive than the Guardian. Here the technicians and both doctors have been 100 percent excellent in taking care of your boxer. He is just like one of our family and if for any reason we thought they were not knowledgeable and professional we would have never trusted them with our boxer..
After 2 different vets looking at our kitty for an emergency at 24 HR, providing us with her fatal diagnosis, providing no treatment plan and noting that she may suddenly pass away or we can make a "tough decision".... we decided based on how 24HR said she was suffering, we decided to book a very emotional euthanasia, but preferred to book at our main vet, Lakewood Animal Hospital - We are VERY glad we talked to Lakewood first - why? Turns out, that our kitty DID NOT have what the 24 HR vets claimed! And better yet! She did not need to be euthanized! Lakewood vet reviewed the notes from 24HR and they didn't even test for what they diagnosed her with! Turns out it is actually a muscoloskeletal issue - NOT heart, NOT fatal blood clots....And she is currently on the road to recovery. 24HR gave not one, but TWO misdiagnoses on our furry family member. And, we went through all the motions of making the fateful drive in to euthanize, book, arrange for her death with time off work and tears - only to be told 24HR was far off the mark. Please - find an alternate emergency pet service if you can. This tragic event should not have happened. We are very thankful Lakewood was able to discover what was going on - because 24HR's mistake would have cost us our pet's life.
Fantastic Experience!!! Emily is a ray of sunshine as soon as you walk in the door. Shes very happy, comforting, concerned, and professional. I'm an over the road truck driver, thousands of miles from home, when my dog "Joe" became Ill! A phone call to them assured me they could squeeze me in right away. As soon as we got there they assessed Joe with a inflamed pancreas,. Dr. Wark then came in explained the findings, told me the procedure to cure his problems. I then gave her the go ahead, and a day and a half of hospitalization and there care we are now on road again, with a happy healthy Joe Dog!! I'm sorry I don't remember the names of the Techs I dealt with? But they were also very professional and caring! Please don't hesitate to take your family pets to these folks. They will be very well cared for!!! THANKS AGAIN! Your a Great Team Don & Joe Curtis...
My dog ate a chocolate bar I live in rural Saskatchewan. I drove over 70 kilometers to the clinic, this is the clinic my veterinarian recommends when they are closed when I got there they took her in less than 15 minutes. Everything was explained to me and again by the Veterinarian,. Instructions about the after care were easy and the staff were kind . Wish they told me how messy the charcoal could be Great news she is doing awesome!
Yesterday I tried to make an appointment with our regular veterinary clinic but they were full and recommended 24 Hour Animal Clinic. The staff were friendly, efficient, well organized and professional. However, I was shocked at the recommendation for care and the cost for the service. My cat had been out fighting earlier in the week and was bitten or scratched by his "friend". His back foot was swollen and infected and he was not putting weight on it. I knew what had happened because this has happened before. I told the vet technician, and she seemed to pay attention. She showed an interest in the cat. However, then the veterinarian came in, she seemed to pay no personal attention to the cat. She did not ask me what had happened. She tried to touch his paw, from which, he winced. She said she would have to sedate him to look at the paw and clean it and while he was sedated she was going to xray his leg to see if it was broken. I was shocked, and I think my shock registered through my mask. She went back to the cost sheet and at my questioning reduced to cost from over $600 to under $200, for just the examination, some anti-biotics and the suggestion of soaking his foot in epsom salts. I would not recommend this clinic, because, my experience indicated that they are more interested in expensive procedures than simple care for the animal.
I would have given them 5 stars but my Minnie didn't make it so it's difficult to get too enthusiastic on a review but that said - they were caring, compassionate professionals and I appreciate the effort they put into trying to save Minnie for us. They sent us a condolence card signed by what must have been all the staff and that extra thought brought both tears and appreciation for their concern for us - Minnie's family. The cost was what it was - they are educated professionals (there were 8 - 10 people involved in Minnie's care) , there were many tests and much expensive machinery used to try to help in any way they could. We are fortunate that we could absorb the cost, I understand many can't; but blaming the hospital and staff for excessive fees is not fair to them. I would have mortgaged the house to have saved Minnie but they did what authorized tests they could and told us much more was pointless and possibly causing Minnie more pain and that the kindest thing we could do was to stop. So we let her go in a caring, compassionate atmosphere and now mourn her loss daily. Vet care costs, there is no getting away from that. My condolences to those that are on tight budgets and faced with money decisions being a part of what care can be provided but again - please don't shoot the messengers. They did everything they could for our little Minnie and we appreciate every effort they made. Heartfelt thanks to all.
Terrible experience. All they care about is money. Very rude and disrespectful staff. We had our dog euthanized. Well he was still alive and they were injecting him the receptionist came in with the debit machine and was pushing for payment. No compassion what so ever. We will never return. Worst vet experience ever
Love this place. Dont really care about the money. The vets are amazing the staff is friendly. It's like home.
When my elderly cat was not doing well and I booked an after hours appointment, I noticed the poor reviews after and started to hesitate going. I’m glad I didn’t cancel. The techs and the doctor were lovely and kind. He was very helpful explaining the diagnosis and the prognosis. He was incredibly caring when the time care to say good bye. Thank you.
An awful place. Only take your pet if it’s an absolute emergency after hours and transfer to a reputable vet clinic as soon as possible. I’m still too devastated to even begin to write out what my experience was, how poorly they treated both me and my pet, and of course be prepared to be gauged for every last penny you have. Absolutely heartless people. I wish I could give zero stars.
I have owned many animals over the last 30 years, horses, dogs, cats & birds & have had as many vet experiences. I have NEVER had an experience at a Veterinary Clinic in my life like the one I had here at 2:30am. I brought my 2 yrs old male cat in with an emergency. I was soon taken into an exam room(without my cat) which I then spent the next 1 hour & 40 minutes NOT being listened to & being completely disrespected & bullied by the receptionist & Vet Dr. Arran Lamont in their efforts to get me to sign, consent & PAY for Dr. Lamont's $2000 estimate for services. My cat needed to be sedated & have a catheter inserted to drain his spastic bladder before it ruptured. They refused to conduct ANY treatment on my cat until I submitted to their bullying & paid the ENTIRE $2000. The receptionist said at one point "do you have any idea how upset we will be if we don't do all these tests & your cat dies on the table?" To which I replied "You don't even know him." I informed Dr. Lamont upon meeting him that I was not interested in their preliminary expensive blood work. (My partner's a Medical Professional & told me on how much some of these tests actually cost for humans) To which he responded "I'll go make up an estimate about what I THINK NEEDS TO BE DONE". Even though I just told him what I was prepared to authorize. I was willing to take the risk of sedation in order for him to insert the very needed catheter. As Dr. Lamont did announce that this was an Emergency so shouldn't we be draining my cat's bladder? But instead they spent almost 2 hours bullying me into agreeing to all these expenses & treatments that I DID NOT WANT. They both were relentless. I told them that they are taking advantage of vulnerable people & their sick pets after hours. In order to save my cat, I finally caved in & paid them $1600 to which Dr. Lamont responded OK then I'll now get started. Who are they to be FORCING people into services or treatments for their pets that the owners either don't think are necessary, can't afford, or simply aren't interested in having done??? As far as I know I live in a Democratic Society not under Dictatorship & I still have rights to choose. The receptionist told me at one point that if I didn't agree with their $2000 estimate that they would just stick the catheter in him, drain his bladder, and then I could just take him home! Dr. Lamont even tried guilt on me by saying that he doesn't really want to be there at 3:30 am I responded "but this is the clinic you work at & the night shift is yours tonight". Come on people! As soon as I was able to transfer my cat to his usual Vet in the morning, I did. I picked him up & while I was waiting for them to bring him out to me I asked 3 times to have someone come out & explain to me what they did, what they found with the tests they conducted, etc. I was told 3 times that someone would definitely come out & tell me the results. In the end the woman brought my cat to me (with the catheter still inside him) & when I asked her to explain the procedures they conducted & the test results, she told me I could ask the Vet I was taking him too!!!! Imagine after all that & the money I just spent.....they weren't even professional enough to complete their job and give me the test results! Then a couple of weeks later I receive a letter in the mail from the clinic's owner Dr. Maria Just telling me that because I was argumentative with her staff I was now banned from her clinic. I guess she doesn't like people who try & assert themselves. Maybe she doesn't like how long it took for me to finally succumb to her clinics abuse. I want Dr. Just to know that she really needs to heed the reviews of her clinic's PRACTICES because if she did take an interest in what her reviews are saying she will find that her 2 rating is because her & her clinic are the problem, not the poor people who find themselves victims to this insane way of running a Veterinary Practice. To all other Vets in Regina ...you all should be gravely concerned that this is what is happening to your regular patients!
Had to bring cat here a few times. Okay service but front desk staff is often rude and aggressive. Most appointments are behind schedule. We were ask to come a day early because they had no one scheduled, and still made us wait 45 minutes.
I have been rescuing cats for a couple of years, anytime i’ve had a late night emergency the staff were ready and waiting for me. Thankfully I havent had anything too urgent. I’ve been bringing the kitties in to get nuetered and spade as well. They have called me with follow ups afterwards. I’ve also found that they do have a cheaper rate for nueters but aren’t far off costs from other vets. I really appreciate the prompt service, the clean clinic, and that im in the examing room. The staff have been very caring for these kitties i’ve been finding, and make sure i understand how to administer any antibiotics before I leave. I havent felt pressured to do anything else or get anything else while im there. They have made suggestions for other things for me to consider. I love coming here, and i love the staff! All vet care can get pricey and i find this clinic reasonable.
I have owned pets for decades and been to many vets, including other cities. This is absolutely the worst treatment my family received. The staff had NO compassion and very questionable ethics. I caught the management in serval lies. When I wanted to address the wrong information given, she said that there is no one higher than her. Which she doesn’t own the clinic. Makes me wonder what sort of information the owner isn’t receiving or is even correct.
We called the clinic and brought in our dog for the very first time and initially the receptionist was very nice and answered our questions. We were seen by the vet who made recommendations of what we could do at home and said we were free to go! Upon leaving we were slammed with an $89.00 annual checkup fee, which we questioned. We were never at this clinic before and came because our original vet was all booked up! The receptionist told us to speak with management. Management came out and tried to explain that the fee is applied to ALL services, even though nothing was done to our dog! They threatened to call the police if we did not pay and said it would be considered a theft. We were also told we are no longer welcomed back! This is an HORRIBLE clinic! Receptionist and mangement are extremely rude. Would 100% never recommend this clinic to anybody! Staff is very unprofessional! Be warned, this clinic takes people’s money without doing anything!
Called this clinic because they are open 24 hrs for emergencies. My dog walked in glass and could barely walk as a result. I called here very upset and spoke with the receptionist. She told me they wouldn’t see him because it was not considered an emergency. When I said I would consider this an emergency, she said nothing. Would never consider taking my pets here again. Now it makes sense why I hear such bad things about this clinic. Rude and they do not seem to care about your animal.
Doesn't seem to be a common practice for a vet to ask for a follow up appointment and then charge for it, but apparently thats how they like to cash grab here. Was not informed about this charge during the initial appointment. Oh and also, they performed a treatment for my dog during the follow up exam that they could've easily done during the first exam and avoid a follow up exam all together! Yet another cash grab. Aside from being able to get my dog in to see someone quickly, I'm not impressed. I will never bring my pets here ever again!!!!!!
A month ago today, there was an accident with my Husky Apollo. We were out for a run a grid road and he got underneath my tire. His leg got pretty messed up so we rushed him into 24 Hour Animal Hospital in Regina. On our way we called them and told them what we were on our way with and when we got there, they already had a table and everything ready in the back for him. Once he was all settled they walked us through what had to be done; his leg had to come off, which I expected taking him in. This was on Good Friday so they told us they may not be able to get someone in to do the surgery right away. After they walked us through everything, we paid and left as there was nothing else we could have done by being there. The next morning we got a call. It was 24 telling us Apollo was all done and we could come pick him up. Some amazing vet left their own Easter plans to come take care of my dog. That afternoon we went to pick him up. He was a little drugged up but looked well. All the techs explained everything about his meds, healing times and what he could and couldn't do during healing really well; they made sure we understood everything before moving on yo the next thing and were very patient with any questions no matter how dumb they sounded. Two weeks later we went in to get his staples out. Apollo was excited to go back. He was excited to see all the staff and he dragged the vet tech into the back room where he was getting his staples removed. She told me he wouldn't sit on the scale cuz he was to busy trying to say hi to everyone. You know you have a good vet when your dog loves going there. We did wind up having to leave some staples in and go back a week later to get the rest out. They didn't care about having to take the time for a staple removal twice. They cared more about making sure Apollo was healing up properly than rushing the staples out so they'd only have to do it once. They are also very clear about being able to call them if you have any questions and if you do call, they're very patient answering your questions on the phone as well. I swear if it has something to do with your pet, they do not find it to be a waste of time, no matter how big or small. They actually care about your animals. The care my boy got there and how much he enjoyed going back make it very clear that this vet cares about your animals.
I don't know why all the bad reviews. We had an emergency, the cost was fair and they were very thorough as it was difficult to find the problem. The facility was clean, open and professional. The doctors and staff were nice and professional.
Years ago we took our pug here when he was shaking and not very responsive. We went here at 2 am due to it being a 24 hour service. We brought him in and they only looked at him and he was mostly recovered by the time we got there. They lectured us that he obviously had eaten our weed because I guess we look like stoners? When we told them we don't smoke they didn't believe us. They did 0 tests , and sent us on our way with a hefty bill. We took him to wascana and they took care of him. We were in shock at professionalism of this business and how they didn't care about our animal at all. Absolutely do not go here. The other reviews and score truely reflect this business.
I can't say enough about the 24 Hour Clinic in Regina. We recently had to take our cat there in the middle of the night with stomach problems and the staff was incredible! They took amazing care of our Bengal and were super helpful and very thorough. They kept me updated and always called exactly when they said they would! I'm so impressed and grateful for their wonderful service, they truly saved our kittens life!
Our guy contracted kennel cough, and had been "honking" all day to where he also vomitted and became stressed. After calling every clinic in the city, all of them booked up, we took an evening appointment at 24 HR. Service was good and the hand off at the door went very smooth. Always nice the have a staff eager to welcome your pet by acknowledging and petting them, rather than just taking the leash and leading them away. Everything was thoroughly explained not just by the vet, but followed up by the staff when our dog was brought back to us. Will definitely use 24 HR in the future if needed.
I would give them 0 stars if I could. This place should be reported and shut down. They are absolute useless. Called last night around 8pm about my French Bulldog, told her the back story and even told them exactly what they need to do. All she could say was "well because we havent seen the dog before we cant say". When I asked, "Im wondering if i should drive down now for you to check her out right now" I was hit with a "you need to make an appointment." My dog is now in surgery at another vet clinic as of 8am this morning. Please dont waste your time, or money here. They are more concerned about money then your pets health.
Took our dog Polly .Every nice Staff . Good experience. I am very happy with the servive. Thank you.
After the very sudden passing of our dog, we proceeded with a necropsy to determine the cause of death. For 3 days following our decision to get an necropsy we were pestered with phone calls from this vet as it seemed they had absolutely no clue of what was required for an autopsy. At first we were told we could keep the body for burial and picked a grave site – two days later we were informed she could only be cremated. For 3 days, phone calls continued. After everything was finally sorted, we heard from the crematorium to come pick up the remains before we even heard from the vet for results. After inconclusive results, we proceeded with more testing – given a time-line of 2-3 days; 8 days later and no results I phoned for a follow-up; the request had been lost – but not without them getting paid. Our entire experience lacked empathy of any sort and their lack of procedures was mind-blowing.
they were great when I brought in a rescue kitten. Helped me nurse her back to health and she is doing great now. The staff were so good to deal with and caring. Would go back again if I need to
The vets and staff here saved my dog's life. It was a horrible few days of him being sick and they were friendly, professional, and helpful every step of the way. They advised on appropriate tests, possible next steps, and arranged follow up when he was discharged. On his follow up appointment, they greeted him like he was the only dog in the place. A few days later, they called to follow up and see how he was doing. I'm very happy with the care he received.
I brought my dog in for a check up and the tech that was in the room at first was very professional. Before the vet could make it to see my pet, the manager (Leanne was her name) came in and started yelling at some poor girl right in front of me, calling her names and words that I do not like to here. Needless to say I left and would only be back in case of an emergency.
Our dog ate something in the parking lot at White Butte Trails, turns out he ended up with cannabis toxicity. We rushed him over to the 24hr clinic - they had a fully booked day, but took him in to observe him until a vet could see him. They are wonderful, caring people, and I felt so safe leaving Scar with them. This is the 3rd time we’ve had to use this clinic in an emergency situation and each time they are professional, caring, and knowledgable.
My experience has not been great at this clinic, and upon discussions with several people, I find that although my experience has definitely not been good, it absolutely is not the worst experience, which says a lot. I have a cat with a very rare form of cat cancer. Very rare. This clinic originally thought that it was a torn knee, and she was booked for surgery at the animal hospital. The day of surgery, I took my cat to the hospital, and the surgeon knew immediately that it was not a torn knee. More xrays were taken to confirm. She is terminal. I called THIS vet centre again two days ago to get pain medication for my little angel (same medication they prescribed when they thought it was a torn knee), whose spirit is still so high, but she needs some help now with the pain. I was advised that it may take two full days for a vet to review her file in order to write a prescription (my vet at this clinic is on vacation). It has been two full days, and still nothing. Her file is on hand, and they know she has a terminal cancer. Even the basics are a fight here. Good thing they are a 24 hour service, or we would wait a month for the care our loved ones need. UPDATE: After three full weeks the 24 hr animal care centre phoned me to advise me the medicine was ready to be picked up. It's important to note that after the third day of no response from them I contacted the Animal Clinic of Regina, and had her meds in two hours. Take your precious pets elsewhere.
Scared of bigger dogs . They force sedate my dog as there scared and blame covid when I ask why . They don't take advice from the surgeons from saskatoon Or me to the guy that's paying the bill and has been down this road before Claims saskatoon hospital surgeons work for them but is funny that I have to drive to saskatoon hospital to get proper medical treatment .Prescribed me medicine that is useless and caused more of a problem ???? like bigger infection . I had to contact surgeons in saskatoon to fix what thespeople were to ignorant to understand. It seems all they want is money and your pets best interests are not there's
My German shepherd mix was very sick. I brought him to Lakewood and they sent him to 24 hour vet center where they said he had a twisted bowel. I asked them if he could be conspaded and they said no with a other expert from another lab looking at the xrays. They call me back to say what I already knew, no twisted bowel and $4000 dollars later. The Vet doc said if they didnt find anything it wound be cheaper $300 cheaper. They admitted to not finding anything. This was my daughter's dog,she passed away. My opinion is that they don't have enough experience and unprofessional. They cut my dog open for no reason and charged me a crazy amount for 3hrs surgery and two days there.very mad at the place.
I had my Great Dane puppy rushed there after a bad surgery outcome at another vet. Yes I had to pay upfront for the most expensive quote but the care was excellent and my money was refunded when the full amount was not needed. I was happy with the service and my puppy survived.
I just got back to Warman, From Regina this afternoon. I drove all the way to Regina for my dog to have surgery on a mass on his foot, that we think is cancer ! The whole team at this clinic was amazing , and I knew I made the right choice , and was worth the drive. Very stressful situation and everything they could have done to calm my nerves they did. And they took AMAZING care of my dog Ceaser. THANK YOU SO MUCH ! I will 100% without a doubt refer your clinic to everyone I know. Ceaser says much love ❤️
Update (Sept 4/21) - I had another emergency with another one of my dogs and unfortunately he wasn't able to be saved, he was critical by the time I got him there but I will admit they handled the whole situation great - a big change from last time. Perhaps the key is calling ahead before you leave the house? They had all hands on deck for me when I got there. So I'll give them another star for that. Just something to mention though, the vet I had didn't sugar coat things which I don't mind but some others may. *** My little dog got into my big dog's medication and immediately brought him to the clinic to induce vommiting. Took me 20 minutes of sitting in the car going back and forth with reception and the vet to get checked in while my dog was steadily declining in the car before I could go in, all the while telling me they were concerned about how much he had absorbed. But leaving me in the car for 20 min is fine. Don't get me wrong - I'm glad to have an urgent care vet that's open 24/7, once I got in they got the job done and he's fine, but the triage needs some work.
We called about our bunny tonight, she hadn't been eating all day. We called the 24 hour vet clinic, she said and I quote "The rodent isn't our problem call the humane society" we stated that she is breathing heavily at the moment and all she said was "Sorry for your loss" said it as it was just a line she had to say not from the bottom of her heart but anyways our little bunny literally died a moment after. We were racing for the help tonight. So hurt that she didn't care while we were all scared for our bunny. She called it a rodent. To us it was family, not just a pet. A family member. Animals lives matter too.
Do not waste your time here. I brought my dog in to get his shots renewed and was charged over $140 for one shot. They didn’t update the rest of his shots like asked to, instead said he wasn’t due for them yet - so I checked with my other vet and they were in fact due. Then they said they didn’t do them because they were denied to give him more shots. Which again is another lie! They also said we could be there when he got his shots and then didn’t allow us in. He came back after that literally shaking and panting I’ve never seen my dog so shaken up and stressed out before. After reading other reviews and seeing this is a common thing happening I would advice everyone to NOT take their pet there as I am concerned for how they treat the animals while in their care. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
I had great care for my dog at this clinic. HOWEVER I WOULD LIKE TO WARN OTHERS of the following.... This clinic likes to do multiple testing when they should do one test at a time. I suspected a bladder infection and they suggested X-rays to check for stones and urine sample to check for bacteria. They did both and of course the X-rays were clear. Urine showed bacteria (infection). So why do both? Do ONE - and if no bacteria... then do further testing (X-ray) My bill was $350 and could've been around $250 mark. So I'm feeling a bit ripped off. I feel they vets could be more careful with people's money but just in case they are not in future - YOU DONT HAVE TO have 2 tests done at once. Make them do one at a time. Cari McPherson/Loki
When we came in the receptionist was horrible and rude. Acted like our dog had the worst possible disease possible that could infect the entire staff. Absolutely no professionalism. If not for the vet and the care she showed this would have been a zero star review. And yes I agree with other review cash up front and you better have lots of it.
Very happy I took my puppy here. They are all very nice and treated my puppy really good. They watched her on thanksgiving for me and made sure she was ok cause of her broken pelvis. Went to pick her up the next day and nothing but smiles on my face seeing my puppy walking and happy as can be. I can’t thank you guys enough. Thank you !!
My cat got hurt really bad 3 weeks ago and I was amazed at how well the vet was with my boy and how well thay where with me I will give them 5 paws thank you
I was skeptical with all the horrible reviews but I had a great experience. Every one was friendly and compassionate. The vet was knowledgeable, honest, patient and gave us all our options to make the best decision for us.
Please read ALL of the reviews and know that every single bad review is 110% true. Assume the good ones are fake! We were overseas and our friend taking care of our cat unknowingly took him there. we had appointment with our normal vet, but our cat took a turn for the worst. The first thing they did was threaten us with the humane society and police when our friend called for information, the second thing they did was hit the easy button. Our cat is 16 and diebetic so they just advised us to put him down, they never gave any other option. We decided after much frustration from this clinic to bring our cat home and wait for our normal vet. Of course they had no issue after 1k in bills. I’m happy to say our cat is doing well after 2 months and some REAL care from an actual VET clinic. Please look for other options before taking your pet to this joke of a place.
They put our dog in the euthanasia room, when they just needed a check up and DHP vaccine. Our dog was freaked out and reactive afterwards, so they wanted to sedate her and do the check up. Our dog continued to be reactive (wouldn't you be). So, we left, and paid over $200 for the appointment and two doses of sedation. But, nothing was done. So, disappointed.
My dog cut open in between her toes, so I took her in on a Sunday to have it checked out. All the staff were super friendly! I've had some bad experiences in the past at this clinic, as well as read some bad reviews, but tonights visit definitely changed my mind. I would for sure go back to this clinic. The vet we saw was fantastic and explained everything to me!
This would be the third vet that my partner and I have have taken our dog to in a week. (our dog has quills that have broken off and are stuck under the skin and is in a LOT of pain). After being told to rush him in to see the vet at this clinic, we took our dog there just to be told that the vet would not do anything but shave down the area and feel for quills, even though they are deep within his tissue. the vet also said he would prescribe him pain killers, even though our dog is already on pain killers and antibiotics. so basically we took our dog who has a lot of inflammation, and is in a lot of pain here just to be looked at, to be charged $100 for doing absolutely NOTHING... Mind you the vet talked about other dogs during our dogs examination, did not focus on our dog, and told us there was nothing else he could do. I do not recommend this place to anyone... The vet is very unprofessional, and unhelpful... ABSOLUTEY AWFUL!!!!
Three different vets from this clinic looked at my dog, and they each gave me different, conflicting information. Two of the vets clearly didn't even look at my dogs health history. Then they charged me $200 more than the price they originally quoted me and I didn't get any answers about what was wrong with my pet.
I’m not sure why but when my Cicero goes there he gets very scared he’s a 4yr old cat! I have not experienced this with his normal vet! He’s usually very calm for other vets! I brought him in Monday last week they triaged him because he had not peed and was vomiting green! Was told it was not an emergency because he was not blocked! I ended up Taking him to his Normal vet because it was faster treatment for him! But he is terrified of 24 hour clinic I’m not sure why
Dr. Just is an absolute nightmare of a woman. Having heard stories from staff who used to work here, and seen photos taken first hand, I would never send anyone here. She does not care about the animals that walk in, only has dollar signs in her eyes, not to mention the turn over of staff in this place and how poorly she treats them too. Will never recommend.
This is hands down, the most pathetic excuse for a Vet Clinic EVER. They are there to collect $150 for doing nothing and are liars too. They are pretty smooth on how they operate. Please DO NOT take your pet here. They deserve 0 stars! Pretty sure the positive reviews are from friends or family. Take your pet there at your own risk!
We took our dog here after she took a tumble down the stairs and was limping. They did some x-rays and said that the elbow was fractured and that our only options were: to go to a specialist in Saskatoon and spend an unspeakable amount of money not only on vet bills but hotel bills as well Amputate the leg Euthanize the dog. The dog is a 4 month old puppy so obviously we weren't going for the euthenization, and we werent too fond of the other options either so we said we would like to take our dog and get a second opinion to which the doctor tried to say it was very time sensitive and our dog is a lot of pain and we shouldn't let her suffer, trying to push us to make a decision right then and there. We ended up taking her and had the x-rays sent to 2 other vet clinics, but they refused to send the x-ray to myself claiming that their system doesn't support that. The other clinics informed me that was a straight up lie. One of the 2 other vet clinics took her in right away to do the surgery that 24 hour was saying we would have to see a specialist and spend thousands of dollars to do, for less than what 24 hour quoted to just amputate the leg. So all in all, I'm really glad that we didn't decide to cut her leg off for no reason and pay more to do it than what it is to just get the damn leg fixed. Never again am I bringing any of my animals here.
My dog just spent 24 hrs here where they monitored her and treated her for pancreatitis. The vet Dr. Wark was incredible. Definitely put me at ease leaving my sick puppy with them. The front desk, although very busy, were very friendly and professional. Thank you!!
I had to take my sick cat in Friday nigh. I knew she was failing but she took a sudden turn while I was at work. From the moment we walked in until we walked out we were treated with compassion and kindness. The staff were wonderful. I didn't get the vet's name, but he treated us and Tango with care. He talked to us about our decision to euthanize to make sure we were okay. I never once felt bullied, pressured or rushed.
I recently lost my 14 year old boy. Given his condition and with hesitancy I attended this vet. His usual clinic was closed. I am shocked at some of the reviews. There is no money grab here. This is a phenomenal team that worked diligently with compassion, professionalism and kindness during one of the hardest days of my life and one of the worst days for my boy. I never felt once that this was about money. They put my dog and my emotional loss first. I couldn't be more grateful for thier genuine human compassion and thier gentle but strong efforts during thier care of Kale. A heartfelt thank you for your efforts Dr. Wark, Ashley, Dr Acuna, Robin and Tess. You have no idea what a substantial part you played on one if the most difficult and worst days in my life. I feel very blessed to of had each of you involved in Kale's care. Christine.
If I could give a zero star I would. Don't use this clinic unless it is an absolute emergency and even then good luck getting proper care.
