Had an appointment booked for my two puppies Luna and bear for first shots and health check and was sadly turned away because they can’t get booking times right. I was told two pm Friday afternoon. Was confirmed yesterday by phone. Jan 13th. I work in Calgary and had to book the day off work to take them in. Now I’m out a days wage and my puppies are without medical attention. They wanted to rebook witch is another days wage lost. No help at all. Very disappointed.

Have had wonderful experiences before but last time the lady just took my cat from me into the back my cat was screaming so bad I debated on just looking for her it scared me than she came back with my cat. Two out of the three they did cut were completely broken in half nails and bleeding. The lady told me she peed on the counter but for whatever reason only my cats back was covered in piss. Still paid the 20 dollars or whatever it was. I will never gone back ever.

Dr Greg Linnell is our favourite Veterinarian. We started bringing our little fur babies to him about 10 years ago. He's honest and straightforward. He remembers our dogs and us everytime we come in. One time we took our dog in to get some dental work. Dr Linnell did a checkup in the morning (which had a quote) and performed the surgery in the afternoon (which required numerous tooth extractions). A few teeth were worse off then initially expected. Because it wasn't part of the initial quote, he dealt with those teeth free of charge. Would highly recommend Dr Linnell to anyone with a pet.

I recommended this clinic to my friend, as I had a great experience with Dr. Linnell in the past, a really nice guy who cares. Here is the quote to me from my friend after calling the clinic "I called and the chick that answered the phone was so rude". The receptionist name was Candace. With all the complaints on here about the poor service at the front end, why has this clinic not done anything about the poor service? It's interesting to me that the 'Owner' only makes comments to the good reviews on here but fails to comment on the bad reviews, not even offering an apology to people for their bad experience and attempting to correct the problem. It appears, from the first contact you have from a rude receptionist, Piper Creek Vet Clinic is not living up to their mission statement on their web page. Mr./Ms. Owner, bad on you for not dealing with the numerous complaints people have in this regards.

I'd like to start off with I've seen online many ppl speak highly of this vet clinic. In addition to that my neighbour had also suggested it to me. I've only been to this vet once. With a delicate matter. I had a 15 shepherd with her hips giving her great troubles. She was at the point where I had to unfortunately make the choice to put her down sadly. The clinic was very kind & considerate. Also accommodating. I requested to pay first. As I wasn't sure how I was going to handle things afterwards. They also requested this other person's dog to be taken outside briefly (as it was barking a lot & it was stressing my dog out) really helped calm her down. Then they had a blanket for her to lay on. The vet that we seen was kind & spoke to me of her condition & related topics to it. Which helped going through the process of her being put down. The staff honestly is excellent. I would highly advise to go to this clinic as so many others have. Should I eventually have another pet. This is the clinic I'll be attending for sure!

You would think that when you call your vet about your cat having bloody stools they would ask questions like how else is she doing any vomiting, are they eating & drinking? Not piper creek, of they are full then it's like they don't care. I understand that vets get full, it's the dismissive indifferent attitude that I have a problem with. I want to take my pets to place when even they can't be seen are treated with respect and compassion. The front desk at Piper Creek does not do this.

Well my family has been going to this vet for a long while. And I have allways like the Dr's I liked. But the girls that work out front are a Very Mean Bunch. I will just say what happened to make us so upset. It started when my daughter found 6 babies cats. And we were in a pickle because we could not even tell if they were boys or girls. So I called out vet. But wow I was told right up front he does not do Anything for Free. Ok that was nothing like what happened to our 15 year old baby pup. She got into our BBQ.After it tip over. I never seen a dog so sick. We got to see a very. And then they just sent us home. Well the next 3 days were hell. And I started Calling our vet and I could not get her back in even after I told the woman that our baby would not make it 3days. And the last morning and we had a appointment at 3:00pm. I called the first call of there morning Bagging to put her down sooner. But nothing. Thanks for killing my Best friend Kitie love you lots.

Booked an appointment over the phone 4 days in advance with a vet tech. It needed to be at the end of the day due to my work schedule, the receptionist booked 4:45 on Friday. I arrived at 4:40 and was told the tech had left for the weekend and our appointment was at 4:30 and that nobody in the clinic was qualified to help us. They did not call to notify me of this, and did not offer any solution, just stared at me blankly without taking any responsibility for the inconvenience. There were three receptionists behind the desk and not one of them was helpful.

My wife went here for a checkup on our dog to see if it was time to put him down, and all the vet did was look at him and say "yes, from what you've described, he's old and it's time for him to go".... no exam, no testing, just "yeah it's time"..... what the heck did we just pay $70 for? I coulda told you that! They refused to waive the fee, but I don't care that "you have to pay for the vet's time", because all the vet did was say that and then talk about CBD oil. What a joke. Don't take your pets here to be euthanized, there are better, cheaper options.

Unfortunately, I have to give a low review cause of what recently happened. I've been going to Piper Creek Vet for about a year or maybe more and they have been great, until now. I paid for my usual vet visit, which was giving my cat antibiotics. But, a few days later I would be out of her medication, I was missing 3 or 4 days worth. I thought this was weird. So I got my son to pick up the rest of her meds..not thinking that they were gonna charge me again for her meds..which isn't right. So basically, someone messed up there and are blaming me. Sad ????

The vet was courteous and compassionate. I choose to be there till the very end holding him, always do this if you have to put a pet down, don't let the last thing they do to be searching for you. He went quickly and peacefully, he was so much more than a cat, he was family and will be dearly missed.

The Dr's are outstanding at this clinic, as are the ladies at the front. I had to have my 14 year old dog put down recently. I brought her there in the pouch that I always carried her in. The technician needed to take her to the back to prepare her. My dog was very calm and she let her stay in her pouch and she hung her on her body, just as if she was with me! Mia remained calm and was back in no time, still in her pouch, her favorite place to be. Dr. Laura came in and could not have been kinder. She was so gentle....with both of us. My dog had been suffering the night before and I had prayed that she could just take her last breath. Now, I know I would not change a thing. She got the highest quality of compassionate care and I was holding her as she was ever so gently put to sleep. Thank you Piper Creek, my Mia was in such good hands with all of you.????

Worst vet I have ever been to. The receptionist was extremely rude and made me feel very stupid. She did not even know what my animal was there for and trying to get me to sign incorrect paper work. I was so disappointed, I did not feel comfortable leaving my cat there. I was not phoned when something was wrong. I was told on pick up that my new cat had had to have 7 teeth pulled, I told them to call if more than 2 extractions needed to be done. When I asked about it on the phone they just said they didn't know. When I asked about it upon pick up, the receptionist again was very very rude to me. Saying "maybe we should have, but we didn't" I would never ever ever take my animal here again. I was treated like total crap. Easily the worst vet clinic in Red Deer, I never even met with a vet before they took my baby away. So disrespectful and rude here.

On February 10th, I woke up early in the morning to find one of our cats, Galore had passed away unexpectedly. Even though she had some health problems in the past, It was very shocking to find her completely unresponsive and then to break to news to my wife. She was completely heartbroken with the news and I needed to act quickly to take care of the difficult situation. Piper Creek Vet Clinic was the first place to answer my call in the morning. I believe it was Madison who I spoke to. After speaking briefly on the phone about the situation, Madison personally met me at the clinic, received our beloved Galore, processed her paw prints upon my request and was able to handle the arrangements for cremation. She called me later that morning to let me know the paw prints were finished and asked if we would like to keep her collar. I returned later that afternoon to collect the collar and paw prints (they did a few paw print samples, some I put in a card for my wife). I never got the chance to properly thank Madison for how she handled everything and was able to fulfill our special requests. She was very professional and respectful. It's been almost ten days since we lost Galore. Everyone including my wife, my son, myself and our other cat miss her very much. Even though our family no longer feels whole without her presence, we still have some very fond memories of Galore and we owe our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Piper Creek Veterinary Clinic.

I used to take all my cats here, but after having to put one down they allowed me to take a day to decide what I wanted to do. When I decided to bury him I called in advance to let them know. I expected him to be in a box - they hand them to you in a black garbage bag.. you'd think they would be more sensitive to such a traumatic experience, but they made it so much worse. It took me a long time to get over this. I switched to Lomsnes and they have always been fantastic to me and my pets.

I’ve been going to this clinic for 3 years and would have recommended them. My dog has desperately needs her nails cut before they break and cause damage and pain. They are refusing to do any nail trimmings currently due to “foot traffic” even with offering to put on full ppe for them. After calling around red deer I’ve found more then one clinic that will. I’ll be pulling my dogs records to go to another vet clinic on Monday. The health and safety of my pet is one of my highest priorities and it’s obviously not even on this clinics priority list

Well I decided to try this place even though some bad reviews seem validated. My call was answered and I was asked "do you mind holding?" . My reply was "yes", though I did mean I didn't mind holding the person didnt even question it. After almost 5 minutes of no reply I figured why even bother. A good and well run company should respond to all reviews, not just the good ones. Lots other vets out there. See ya!

Worst clinic, called ahead to say we would be 5 mins late and was told we need to reschedule, called back after thinking for a minute to reschedule although we were already in the car. Second lady we spoke to said it was okay come in and get here as soon as we could arrived 10 mins late and was told we need to reschedule!!! Angry as we tried to re schedule and were told to come in anyways. There was not a sole in the parking lot except us but, now it was going to ruin their whole morning... Obviously we took our business elsewhere. I've never really heard good things about Piper Creek until recently, so I decided to give them a shot. I called for a quote 1st, I stated my dog was over 2 yrs and between 70-80lbs. She told me it would be $333 +GST, +$89 for laser spay, +48.50 for microchip. I called to book in and gave them the EXACT same info and what I was quoted, she confirmed the price. Upon drop off I was told it was an extra $65 for her being over 1 yr. I asked how much it was going to cost me once I picked up, she calculated it and said $540, (this staff member was extremely lovely btw, no hard feelings, mis quotes happen) This was to include the spay, elective laser, microchip, cone, $65 overage charge. I had a cone, so she said to let them know at pick up and $20 would be removed from my bill. Upon pick up I was told she already had microchip and I wasn't going to be charged for that or the cone. I appreciate them pre scanning and not charging me for a chip I don't need. However, my bill was still $520 without the cone and microchip.. Once I got her home my roommate, certified groomer, noticed there was some razor burn on her inner stomach/thigh. She was spayed on Friday, June 8th 2018. Saturday morning her nipples were 3x the size they're supposed to be, she couldn't walk from her bed to her water dish. (About 5 steps) Sunday was the same, she wouldn't move unless she absolutely had to and with a great deal of pain. Today I had to pull her bed outside just for her to get up and go to the bathroom. I understand she had major surgery and is going to be in pain and will be lethargic but this was not just that. I know vets are not groomers and I'm always prepared for a small/minor amount of razor burn but this was additional, unnecessary pain the vet clinic caused her to endure. Had they taken extra time and not been so heavy handed shaving with surgical 40 blade, the razor burn could have been avoided or been reduced greatly. Amber called me today to check how Ava was doing and I told her the situation and I was unimpressed. She said she would get some pain meds ready for me and I could come by to get them. When I went to pick them up this evening, they expected me to pay $30. I asked to speak to someone in charge because my dog would not have needed these extra meds had they not caused her such severe razor burn. I spoke with an older lady, short gray pixie cut, with blue eyes and glasses. She did not identify herself, when I showed her the following pictures and explained the above situation, she simply stated she would wave the fee of the meds and that the rawness around Avas nipples looked like it was only from her licking. She has been wearing a cone at night and has not been left unattended. This is not the case or cause and is an easy cop out. She handled the situation professionally, I found most of the staff to be helpful and friendly. However the sheer lack of care and consideration for my dogs health and well being is mind blowing. I didn't even receive an apology for the situation or the condition they left my dog in. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Piper Creek Veterinary Clinic, I will not be bringing my dog or any future pets here and I recommend anyone looking into bring their pet here to continue looking...

If you don't like your job, get a new one. Could tell that today wasn't much different from the rest for this lady. You answer the phone, you don't run the show .

I HAD been an client of piper creek for just shy of 8 years. Brought my dog there since he was a puppy for his initial shots and neutering. So clearly have a history on file and have been so fortunate to NEVER had an incident or needed immediate attention for my dog. Really we’ve been easy clients, annual check ups and shots, easy money for them. Until today - November 6, 2021 around noon. I needed some help, my dog was very suddenly sick and I needed my vet of 7.5 years to be there for us. I am aware of Saturday process they have appointments but walk ins are welcome and they just squeeze you in between appointments and you will have to wait, perhaps even for hours. I was aware and stated several times I am MORE than happy to do whatever it took to get my sick fur baby some attention. I am still in complete disbelief of my interaction today. Absolutely no emotion, no care, nothing. I was an inconvenience, I was not give an option or alternative suggestions. I was turned away with a sick dog in my hands from a place I trusted for years. I walked into to a brand new clinic with my sick dog they’d never seen before and had the same process for walk in’s. They asked me to take a seat as it was a busy Saturday for them, they accommodated us in 2-ish hours, which I was more than HAPPY to wait! I am so disappointed I spent years building a rapport at Piper Creek. A place that made it clear this is not a relationship. PLEASE save your self some time and heart break, read the reviews and pick a vet clinic that has integrity and has your fur babes best interest! To leave on a positive note I met the MOST wonderful vet and staff at the clinic closer to our home and I look forward to building a new relationship for the other 8 years or more of my dogs life ❤️

I had had the experience with the rude receptionist in the past before. I still give this clinic 5 stars. My 4 year old German shepherd had a lump on her foot, we had it removed. 2 weeks later the cone she had on got off her head some how when I was sleeping and she chewed her wound open very bad. I didn't call in or anything to make an appointment. I just walked in at 730 when they open and they were more than happy to help. They really do seem to care about the animals, there not pushy and trying to upsell like alot of other vets, they give you options and if they think somthing won't work they won't push to do it to make a buck.I've been to other vets for my 2 dogs and piper creek is the only vet I'll ever let give them medical care. Keep up the good work guys. Thanks for taking care of my lived ones.

Had our 2 yr old shepherd spayed here. We opted for the laser incision. The incision didn’t look proper right from the start. Healing took longer than stated. A lump formed 2 1/2 months later. Stitches didn’t dissolve and infection set in. Had to have the dog reopened and repaired at another location. Don’t recommend here, or at the very least the laser incision not a good option.

The worst vet in red deer, we took our airdale terrier there who was very sick with a cough gave us something for the cough I was worried about the swelling in his throat they weren't concerned in the slightest and Ghent took him to another vet rhe next day and found out he had lymphoma concer and was spread through his body. I had some questions about my cat as he may have a broken front leg and Candace, the receptionist was so unbelievably rude to me on the phone. She was not in the least sympathetic, and made me feel stupid for calling with my concerns. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Took my dog here to get neutered and everything went well then I started getting a little concerned about his stitches as they were red and looked irritated, when I picked him up they told me they can always take a look, so I called and te receptionist told me I’d have to pay for the exam fee and I tried to explain that he was neutered there and was told I would need to pay the exam fee anyways. I later got an email from the doctor explaining that he can take a look for no charge as that’s what I was told when I picked him up and it was a surgery check up preformed there. Because of the resolution I decided to give it another shot and I sent my dog in to get a bump on his head looked at, he went in and emptied the wound as it turned out to be a cyst. I was given antibiotics and told to book a surgery for within the next 10 days. So I sent him in and was told everything went well (a big relief) and I got him home. He was pooped so I let him be for a little but I looked at him today and the cyst I was told they would be operating on had not been touched. I wasn’t aware of anything else on his head but this incision was waaay to close to his face for the cyst they squeezed the first time. They operated on something I had no idea about. Will be calling on Monday and probably update the review after.

My new Co-pilot Mae-Bell went to Piper Creek on Wednesday. The staff there are so nice. My rescue woofer was treated so gently by the Dr. It was Mae's 1st visit to a vet, and is now chipped and toenails are alot shorter. She will have her next shots in 4 weeks and spaying in Sept. No more litters for this beautiful gentle girl. She is so happy in her furever home, getting spoiled a bit for the 1st time in her 1 & 1/2 yrs. And she has a friend to play with.

Have always taken our 4 pets to Piper Creek. Although the receptionist have never had the best customer service, the vets there have always been amazing. Yesterday when faced with a life threatening emergency with our dog we loaded him in our vehicle and raced to Piper Creek. On arrival I was hysterical and asked the girls at the front for help with my dog. I told them I think he is dying. They wasted precious time looking him up in their computer and then they said "sorry you dont have an appointment and we have no openings". I was absolutley shocked. I could not believe what I was being told. I stormed out. By the time I got to another clinic it was to late and our boy had passed away. I beg everyone who reads this to never take your pets to Piper Creek Vet Clinic. They are incredibly inconsiderate. It was apparent to me yesterday that they DO NOT care for animals the way they claim to. My three remaining pets will never step foot in that clinic again.

I had gone to Dog and cat hospital on a saturday with my yorkie who was limping and I paid 400.00 for nothing and had a horrible experience, they had no compassion the assistant even grabbed my yorkie out of my arms "stating she could hold her better to keep control of her so the doctor could look at her better(my little 5 pound yorkie who was scared out of her mind and was shaking) I had to leave my dog there while they sedated her and I have never felt so nervous leaving her I felt like she was not going to be treated kindly ( I should have never left her)and than on top of everything told me my my dogs teeth all needed to be pulled and wanted to charge me 1700.00 I left there so discouraged and felt like it was like buying a car the money talk was more important than my little yorkies well being! I was highly recommended to go to piper creek and thank god I did they were so compassionate and their price was way way way way under dog and cat hospital and I leaving her there for the whole day I was so o.k with it I knew she was going to be well taken care of and they gave full explanation to everything and what to expect everything!!

I won't name, names but someone very close to me took a dog here recently that was having very clear health issues. The issues were explained to the vet and every single one of the issues the dog owner brought up was brushed aside and not taken seriously. The vet did no tests, did not do a through exam, and did not take any of the owners concerns seriously. The dog is still sick and now needs to go to someone who actually does there job. A complete waste of time and money! Maybe because the dog owner was a woman he thought he could take advantage of the situation. Shame on you for not doing your job! I will never go here and I will be telling everyone I know!

We have been taking our 2 dogs and 2 cats to Piper Creek for the last 6 years and We have had nothing but great service,. They really do care about the pets and have never overcharged us for anything. Also, the vet there has given us other options to save money if need be. Anytime we had a question we can call and they will answer the best they can. My dog had an allergic reaction one summer, and the vet didn't charge me at all to see him and get him in right away. When we got our pets fixed, they called to let us know once the procedure was done, and also called to check up on them after. I wouldn't take our babies anywhere else. We're very happy with them!

I recently took in a stray cat and was told the cost to spay her was $225. Upon arrival for surgery, I was surprised to learn that there is a $105 charge for recommended pre-surgery blood work. I really wish I would have been informed of the extra cost at the time of booking so that I could have made a more informed decision about my pets care and my budget. I would have scheduled surgery a week or two later had I known this.

Front receptionist is very rude. I saw two different Vets for my puppy's shots, each time they added extra medication, stating he would benefit from them. For example probiotics, which cost 50 dollars, anti itch shampoo 30 dollars and 60 dollar ear drops. All of which I did not use or need. I will not be returning to this clinic nor recommend to others. Very disappointed as I've heard great things about them.
