I have since moved from Red Deer to Calgary and miss the exceptional knowledge, care and kindness of Dr. Volk and her team! If I drove, I would definitely make the trip back to Red Deer to continue to visit this hospital because they have been so great with my babies! Love, love, LOVE this place ❤

I love this vet! It was the first vet I ever took my dogs to and even though I changed vets I ended up going back! The customer service is next to nothing in this city. Everyone at that location is amazing and friendly, they will bend over backwards to help you out. You never go unheard and they do everything they can to make you and your pets comfortable! My dogs love the vets and the techs and it's always a treat bringing them in!

Today was probably the hardest day of my life. I lost not only a friend but a family member, I forgot how to breathe and as i said goodbye I felt my heart break. Through all of this the girls at this location went above and beyond to make sure I knew he felt no pain, they showed true compassion and they have no idea how grateful I am for them. Dr abby was fantastic and very up front and honest about Oppies condition. Every memeber of the nursing team expressed their condolances in a genuine manner. They didnt rush me in this decision and they gave me ample time with my baby and I have no doubt in my mind that he was well loved during his stay there. Thank you ladies so much I appreciate everything you've done. I will definitely be transferring my other fluffy to this location.

Love this place! My 8yr old Beagle wasn't doing so well about a year ago. No ernergy,not interested in his walks,poor coat and had gained a lot of weight! Well Dr Abbie spotted his problem right away - under active thyroid! Now with the amazing help and guidance of these fantastic people my dog has lost 7Kg,nearly a third of his body weight! He is doing amazing on his medication and is a happy and healthy dog again. I would recommend anyone to this friendly practice.

I like it here, and my boys seem to like it here. But I do find it a bit pricey. I understand that it is a part of having a healthy pet though. Other than that, the vets make my dogs very comfortable before even trying to do anything to them. They behave for them and were very good at easing my worries when my dog went to get fixed. They sent me pictures, updated me, and were very good to him. I like bringing my dogs here though, they are a great place to go.

We normally go to Taylor vet, but these guys are only after your money. They treated me like I was stupid and guilt tripped me for things I couldn’t control with my dogs past. We went in to check on my dogs mammary glands and they told us they were inflamed and possibly tumours. We spent 15 min in the waiting room and they spent 5-10 min with the dog for 75$, just for them to tell us if it got worse to come back and have the 600$ surgery done. We just went to east hill cat and dog hospital and I had the most incredible experience. They spent a whole 30 min checking over my dog. They told us she didn’t have inflamed mammary glands and that she was just fat. They gave us a huge bag of diet food for free. Everything costed us 85$ and we got waaaaay more out of it. They also started us on an insurance plan, take your business there. They will actually treat u well and not hang up on u when u call them to ask about your dogs condition. I was treated with respect and kindness which I never experienced at Taylor. They also have 10% of spaying right now and 20% off microchips with a complimentary ear tattoo.

We recently brought our new boxer puppy Marley in for her first check up to the Clearview location and was greeted with a genuine enthusiasm and courtesy lacking in many other businesses. Just this past week, I took Marley back in for her follow up shots and check up to the East Hill location and was pleased to be treated with the same level of enthusiasm and courtesy! This is obviously a genuine trademark of the Dog & Cat Hospital business model and it is appreciated. I was very impressed that, when we discovered I had my appointment dates wrong, the staff so graciously made it possible for the Vet (Abbie) to see Marley anyway! Lucky day....I was able to use the "actual" appointment date next week for my other boxer Ozzy to have his regular check up. Over all, I must say; the Dog & Cat Hospital has won my vote. Top notch customer service and a genuine level of care for our 4-legged family members!!

I have had nothing but amazing experiences with Easthill Dog and Cat Hospital - specifically Dr Toovey and Katherine. I made the switch to this clinic about 4 years ago when our dog started to develop some pretty severe allergies and was showing signs of lupus. Dr Toovey is amazing with my lemon of a dog, she is so empathetic and understanding, she is great at explaining things in layman's terms, she is sooo willing to work within the realm of what I am comfortable with, she is seriously just an incredible veterinarian and human being. I am not sure Gus would still be alive right now if it wasn't for Dr Toovey going through multiple trial and errors with us to find what works. Katherine has always been so so kind and professional to speak with, I love it when it is her who answers the phone when I call in. She understands me when I talk a mile a minute and has listened to many of my phone call freak outs when Gus is having bad days. She is so uplifting and positive to speak with, I always end my call or visit in a good mood between working with Katherine and Dr Toovey. I love how they have known my dogs by name since the day I started coming to this clinic, back when we were able to come into the office, Katherine would always get excited to see Stevie and Gus and it always made it easier on my senior girl to want to be there. Thanks for all you to do keep my dogs healthy and happy :)

Last year when I got a new puppy, she had some health issues and had to be hospitized for 2 days, they were great, they did everything for Baillee and also helped to relieve my stress as well, now Baillee is happy and healthy.

Poor communication between the east hill clinic and Clearview clinic regarding the treatment of my dog. One doctor started a medication plan at one clinic and during a followup visit at the other clinic another doctor changed the medication plan without the original doctors knowledge. One clinic wanted to charge $500 for bloodwork to diagnose the problem while the other clinic suggested an $85 and go from there only if necessary. Which makes me question the other clinic's integrity. When I asked a question about the medication plan while having my dogs perception refilled, I was told to call the doctor. Common curiosity and customer service should have been to have the doctor call me. I was in the clinic and could have waited to have my question answered. I had an appointment at one clinic which was confirmed twice and when I showed up I was told I'm at the wrong location and was sent to the other clinic. In summary, poor communication, poor customer service and I won't be back.

I had my 2 dogs in today for check-ups etc. Found all the staff to be warm , welcoming and very thorough and professional. I felt the nurse and doctors were very interested in the issues I had concerns with for my 2, and addressed my questions in a professional and respectful manner. East Hill Dog & Cat Hospital is the only veterinarian office we have gone to since we got our dog 16 years ago and wouldn't consider going anywhere else!

WORST VET CLINIC. Didnt do surgery as described which necessitated emergency service at another vet. They refused to accept responsibility and wanted to "chat" about it. What, they are going to try to change my mind?? Manipulative. They claim its about stitches, but I am NOT referring to the stitches. They said they would insert a drainage tube during the initial repair but no drain was inserted, only a puncture done at the bottom of the wound site.The skin partially healed together preventing drainage which then became infected. This necessitated emergency services to insert a drain. The drain had to be inserted surgically in a crosswise pattern since it was no longer possible to insert a drain into the bite wound, which caused further medical trauma. They asked me to drive dog back from Calgary to Red Deer: but 1) I had to take my dog in immediately so I was not about to commute and 2) I am NEVER going back to the WORST VET CLINIC. Btw, I dont drive a Mercedes or BMW, and I definitely received second class treatment...

This is the ONLY place I bring my little guy! The girls here are so friendly with Monster that he actually likes going to the Vet. I recently brought Monster in, as he was going through some behavioral changes and Dr. Abbie(sorry if I spelled that wrong) administered a cpl of tests and promptly determined that my little guy had Diabetes. She worked with me and eliminated unnecessary tests and got to her diagnosis at minimal cost. I just want to say thank you to ALL of the staff there for taking such good care of our babies.

Did not like being told my little puppy could only get her surgery at one place in the city, what would have cost me 2500 or I'd have to take her to Calgary or Edmonton. I asked for the xrays to be sent to me, got a second opinion from piper creek. They did it for a fraction of the price, it was my first call... had they not mislead me to thinking I only had 1 option I would give 5stars FYI they recommended cedarwood. Not sure if these ppl are close family friends...

Am mask exempt with letter from doctor. Vet agreed to appt, but upon arrival, informed me i could not be present with my pet because that staff member is immuno-compromised. Then they should be home, not discriminating against others. Double vaxed, wearing a mask but still afraid. WAKE UP. Ever wonder why docors n nurses didn't wear masks in 2019. Have you read the mask label? Could've told me at time i made appt, i would have selected another vet. Hiding behind "policy" is shameful. Now all Red Deer is aware of your fear based discriminstion "policy."

He goes above and beyond to really explain things and takes the time needed for a thorough assessment. The nurses are also very friendly and helpful. They sent check-in messages on a regular basis as my girls were recovering from surgery, which is just so appreciated. Would definitely recommend this vet clinic to anyone!
