Not the best experience I have had with a vet clinic. I went in for a regular check up for my cat expecting the normally outrageous checkup up bill of 70$ that is pretty standard across the board. Thats not the problem. After 5 minutes of dropping my cat off and driving down the road, i get a call claiming the check up is done and that all is good. The vet then told me they would take out the matting (fur clumps) without telling me they would charge. Upon arrving to pick my cat, the clerk added 20+tax for "doing a full brush and removing all the mats". Well, as I sit here right now writing, petting my cat, I can feel about 10 clumps of fur. So not only did they not tell me they would charge for this "serivice", im not even confident they did it. Also, what exactly consitutes a 5 minute physical check up? Id spend any amount for my cat, but I dont like being ripped off. I feel like the 100+ dollars that left my account went to nothing.

Have been going here for years with both our cat and dog.. the service is amazing Dr Dhaliwal and his staff were amazing through both of my dogs ACL surgeries over two years and she has had a full recovery. Fees for small things like shots are check ins are a great price and they really take their time with you and your pet. A vet who truly cares !

I recommend this vet to all of my friends and neighbors. In the 3-4 encounters I have had with Dr. Dhaliwal for my (geriatric) dog, I have never once felt like he was trying to push for expensive diagnostic procedures or other interventions that were not likely to have significant impact on his quality of life. He is great at presenting you with options and working with you (in a no pressure and non-judgmental way) to make the decision which you feel most comfortable with.

We have taken our 2 Great Danes Apollo and Delilah to Dr. Dhaliwal on several occassions, including a spay process for Delilah, and ear infection for Apollo. Dr. Dhaliwal is the most PATIENT, THOROUGH,EMPATHETIC and COMPASSIONATE vet I have EVER dealt with, and I have had pets my entire life. His calm, and gentle demeanour are very reassuring to both the pets and their owners. The costs are never about what he estimates them to be, and i've never even heard of another vet that takes the time and effort to explain every step of his diagnosis. We trust this wonderful vet......unconditionally....APOLLO recommends him highly.

I went to this vet since it seems to be high rated. But I had the worst service ever! Its a new vet for me and I had booked time to have my cat's claws trimmed and to go through her diet. When I show up, they only did my cat's claws and refused the consultation for her diet! Saying I had to go to my reg vet. But this new vet is much closer to my house. Anyhows I asked the woman why didnt she tell me that over the phone. I would went somewhere else. Even tho there was no one at the vet, they still didnt try to help me cuz vet said it would go over other apt. I was there alone!!! Ill NEVER return there EVER again! If they cant do a service they should say it over the phone and not wait until the client arrives. So frustrating

I was here for a rabies vaccine and deworming medicine. I just got my puppy new who was vet checked by her breeder and given a clean bill of health just before she came to me. So why does she need to be vet checked again when she only needed vaccine and deworming? $70 for vet check, then plus vaccine and deworming I paid $119. For a puppy that's as healthy as a lion. I asked if this vet check is done every time I make a visit ant veterinarian says yes, well I won't be going here again. Won't throw away rent money and be homeless, I will find another clinic for next visits

Love this vet practice- it is a calm and peaceful environment. They treat the animals (and humans) with a lot of compassion and understanding. I have two cats and a very anxious dog and this is the best vet we have found. There is no pressure to do (unnecessary) testing and I feel that they really do what is right for my animals. Oh yeah...their prices are good too. :D

Brought Winston for his vaccine shot, and absolutely loved the place. Doctor was very professional, informative and kind to us and Winston. He didn't have any problem with getting the vaccine. Availability is always open directly to doctor, and staff follows up with your pet after. Before and after service are excellent. Winston will visit this hospital for many time throughout his life. Highly recommended.

I take both my dog and cat here! We've been coming here with since they opened. I tried a couple of other clinics before and those appointments were always rushed. Dr. Dhaliwal cares about the animals and he always takes the time to answer my questions! Appointments never feel rushed. Shoutout to Tina and Eden, they've amazing as well. Walkley Animal Hospital has the most amazing and caring staff I have ever met. I have coming to this clinic with my dog for a few years now and ever since I brought her, I have been nothing but happy and thankful for them! They care for my dog with so much compassion and kindness. Dr. Dhaliwal is an incredible veterinarian and he really cares about what he does. My dog gets very nervous but he always know how to keep her calm and make her as comfortable as she can be. He really takes his time with her when we do vet visits which I always appreciate. The ladies in the front are always so nice and very professional. They know how much my girl means to me and honestly, I could not be more thankful to have my dog be in the best hands when I am there. The clinic is extremely clean and they always answer my calls and questions very quickly! I recommend them 100%!! Thank you Dr. Dhaliwal and the staff at Walkley Animal Hospital!

The doctor refuses to provide estimates in writing and seems to take it very personally when you want to seek a second opinion elsewhere, both at the time of examination, and again should you ever return to the clinic. Kind of ironic, given that he cancelled my pet's surgery on short notice stating that, after consideration, he did not feel "comfortable" or "experienced" enough to actually do it.

Great team, cannot recommend enough! Brought my 5 month old puppy in outside of her checkups because I was worried she swallowed a sock. They saw her right away and kept me updated throughout the whole process. Successfully got the sock out without requiring surgery. Very thankful!!! The rates are very good. More importantly though, the service is amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dhaliwal, and the staff are just wonderful. We have many pets that we bring here, including one we were treating for lymphoma for almost two years. Dr. Dhaliwal was not the main oncologist (that doctor was in DMV clinic in Montreal) but we still brought our little guy to Walkley for everything else. Dr. Dhaliwal also performed many of the treatments as directed by the oncologist. I believe we have been client's since shortly after it opened. Humans being human, there is always the possibility that the service is a little better when both sides know each. That being said, I remember feeling very good about this place right from the start.

Dr. Dhaliwal is the most throughout, methodological and detail-oriented professional I have ever dealt with. I have several cats, one of which was diagnosed with kidney failure and it's largely thanks to him that we have been able to manage his condition for four years. In addition to his outstanding clinical skills, he's very honest when it comes to financial matters and will never push for treatments or medications unless it is strictly necessary and when he does offer them he will charge very reasonable prices.

Our first visit to Walkley Animal hospital, I believe was one of Dr. Dhaliwal’s first appointments when opening his new clinic. Our sick girl had become so nervous to go into our previous vet’s office, because of all of her tests/etc, we simply wanted her “last” appointment to be in a place she didn’t know (and therefore didn’t fear). We weren’t looking for a new vet, just a different one for this visit. The compassion we were shown by Dr. Dhaliwal and his team, especially to two sobbing dog owners that he barely knew, did not go unnoticed and we’ve been clients ever since! Dr. Dhaliwal, and his wonderful staff, are welcoming, understanding, and patient. We never leave with questions unanswered. We also are grateful that Dr. Dhaliwal doesn’t “over prescribe”, and the advice he gives clients is what he would do if the table was turned. It is very clear what steps we must take, what we shouldn’t bother with, and what we should monitor before taking the next steps. Where possible, he gets down on the floor with the dogs, rather than getting the dogs up on the table, which adds to the dogs comfort. I also love when I come home from work, and there is a message from Dr. Dhaliwal, “just checking to see how Charlotte/Winston is doing” after we’ve been in for an issue/illness. And most importantly, the true reviewers (Charlotte and Winston), pull to get into the office when the door is opened, as opposed to trying to back away and return to the car! I do not hesitate to refer the Walkley Animal Hospital at every opportunity.

Very professional staff, shows true compassion and care towards clients and their pets. I have been to this vet quite a few times now, and he throughly adresses any concerns I may have, as well as phones to see how my pet is doing. I have had a surgical procedure done at this vet recently, he provided me with a full estimate written on paper of how much the entire procedure would cost me, he stuck to this set price we agreed on. The day of the procedure I was phoned once the procedure was completed and informed on how the surgery went. Also the pricing is one of the best you will find in the Ottawa area! Highly recommend this animal hospital to anyone.
