I can’t say enough positive things about this vet, we brought our 3 year old dachshund/yorkie mix here for an emergency appointment and chose to switch over to make it our primary vet under the care of Dr. Elder. Not only is dr. Elder thorough and detailed in his explanations of your pet care but he also seems to really care about your well-being and that of your pet. All costs are detailed up front and different options were provided to us depending on cost and comfort level as to the care of our pet. The rest of the team has also been a pleasure to deal with and is always professional, prompt and kind.

We were looking for a new place to take our pets after being disappointed in the experience at our previous animal hospital. I am so glad we took this step! The difference was apparent as soon as we arrived for our appointment. We were greeted by smiling and friendly staff and a technician offered to let us wait in an exam room so our cat could be let out of its carrier and get used to the room. We were also offered coffee, tea or water. The veterinarian was lovely. We appreciated the gentle way that the veterinarians used when interacting with our pets. They were able to adapt to our stressed cats and our dog without problems. Thank you very much to all the staff for creating and maintaining such a welcoming environment. We felt our pets were treated with love and we appreciate it can be challenging especially when they are nervous. All services were clearly explained and quoted. Each bill was outlined in detail by a staff member. We appreciated the transparency. We believe we have finally found an animal hospital for our pets where we have a trusting relationship with the staff. They have set a new bar.

This used to be a great place with lots of care for animals. With going to VCA, the 'care' factor has diminished so much we have moved our business elsewhere. Not to mention exams are over $95. Not worth the new price! Conglomerates just don't do the trick for us ! Last time we were in, the vet that saw us who must have graduated yesterday, provided no feedback of value and we had to beg to try a new antibiotic as the other one wasn't curing the problem long term.

Post COVID-19 Review: Recently brought our cat to this clinic for his annual check up. Great service but you now need to be VERY clear about what services you want them to perform. We called them twice for a quote, got a consistant price ($150), and asked for it to be put on file for his visit. The day of the appointment we had one of our parents bring our cat to the vet for us as we didn’t have a vehicle. She dropped off the cat and said to just do what was needed for the visit. They ended up doing way more services then we had agreed upon from our two quotes. In the end they billed us $270 vs the $150 quote we agreed to. Just a warning for future visits, since you can’t enter the clinic be very clear before you drop off your pet as to what procedures will be done and how much it will cost because bill shock is a real thing. I will add though the clinic is really nice and polite but they certainly need to improve on their ability to discuss what procedures and billing will be done in a COVID-19 landscape. Still getting over this unexpected expense.

Had a fantastic experience with the Bayview Hospital Team today. I brought in my puppy to receive her vaccines and it was a difficult experience not being with her through the process in person as we want the best for our pets. Bayview vets were very helpful by providing us with a package of great information and making us feel welcomed. They were very nice and professional. Once I returned to pick up my puppy she had a toy to take home with her that she chose, making the experience positive for her next visit. Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone seeking pet care!

I had a recent visit that left me disappointed in their discriminatory practices against healthcare workers. I witnessed the staff here refusing to allow a healthcare worker near despite the fact they said there were no breaches in their PPE, have no symptoms and tested negative. These personnel are safer at work than we are with all of the extra protective equipment they have to wear, yet still get discriminated against. Fear is a powerful motivator to discriminate, but its still very disappointing from a clinical staff that should understand infections. I will recommend people go elsewhere for their veterinary services as their protocols do not appear to be up to date and because of their discriminatory practices.

I have been bringing Maharaja here since he was a new kitten. He has had two checkups and a lion cut so far. The staff and doctors were all friendly and professional. They clearly informed me what would be happening to my cat before proceeding with anything. I have complete confidence leaving him with them when it is necessary. I really appreciated the cat information evening the hospital put on last year. I learned a great deal about better cat care, and the hospital. I hope they will make this an annual event. I highly recommend this animal hospital for anyone with a cat.

The doctor was great and reception was friendly, however we arrived 15 minutes early for our dogs appointment, and they were still just over 10 minutes late getting him in to the room. Even a well behaved dog gets antsy when he's inside a building for half an hour on a leashe not moving. Then, after the visit, the receptionist proceeded to take a 15 minute personal call, while not on break from the "just a moments" she gave to customers, before she would accept payment. In all having almost half an hour wasted wasn't enjoyable, but our dog was well taken care of.

The staff here are friendly and knowledgeable, as well as very reasonable. The prices here are standard. One thing I notice and appreciate about this animal hospital is that the staff have you and your pets best interests at heart. I love how they have an exam room dedicated to cats only. The vet did a very thorough examination of my cat and made recommendations accordingly. She noticed some plaque on my kitty's teeth and offered a free sample of food that will help combat this. Now this sample is a big bag that will last 2-3 weeks for my 2 cats. They love it and the're much happier after our visit. Thank you so much!

They were so kind and patient with my kitten who very much did not want to get vaccines. They gave me the price for all of our treatments before doing anything to make sure that the care was within my budget. They took time to talk about how the kitten was doing at home and made suggestions for how to help curb some behaviours. We are so lucky to have this team in our neighborhood.

I couldn’t get my boy into see my regular vet and they recommended I call Bayview and I am so glad they did. I knew going in that I probably wasn’t bringing him home and the entire staff, every single member my brother and I interacted with treated us with compassion and let us dictate the pace at which we moved. Bayview made an incredibly difficult and sad day just a little bit better and easier. I cannot recommend them enough to anyone looking for a vet. My brother plans to start using them even though it means a drive in from Kanata strictly because of our visit there on Saturday.

I felt like every time I spoke to my kittens vet he was trying to sell me something. Pushing vet exclusive products or brands they get paid to promote, when the food I was feeding my kitten was already a balanced diet, according to one of the other staff members who I emailed regarding the food I was initially feeding my kitten, Blue Buffalo Wildeness. I gave in and bought the vet exclusive food but then switched back to Blue and was even nervous for the vet the find out that I switched back. They then wanted over $500 to neuter my kitten. I found cheaper and switched vets.

I originally booked my very first apt. for my puppy at another hospital. I wanted to get her checked over and get her second set of shot. I had to reschedule the apt. (for a sooner date) because i noticed that in my contract for the dog purchase i had a 48hr time window to get the puppy checked and return her if there were any serious issues with her. That first hospital was not able to give me a earlier apt. They suggested i keep the apt. i had for her second set of shots and reach out to another hospital to do the initial check up . I reached out to VCA Bayview and they were able to schedule me in, on top of that they had offered me a coupon to cover for the cost of my first visit. Our first visit was great! I decided to stick to this hospital instead and scheduled my dogs next visits there. The staff are awesome and very caring. My puppy is on a first name basis with them. Dr. Charron is very great and was able to answer all the question i had as a first time fur mom. Definitely would recommend this hospital !

I can't say enough good things about this clinic! The staff is always very friendly and very informative. I've never had them push procedures or medications on me before I've had time to consider the cost. Speaking specifically to covid-19 protocols, I felt very safe going into my cats appointment, everyone was maintaining distance and the staff was very good at making sure I didn't come into contact with another pet owner. They also seem to have good measures in place if you choose not to accompany your animal into the clinic. Love this vet clinic!

Pleasant front desk staff! HOWEVER! It is my belief we got hugely ripped off as new puppy owners. They did NOT specifically diagnose the problem but suggested a myriad of expensive tests to address what they THOUGHT MIGHT be the problem. $1300 wasted! Would definitely not recommend.

My furry friends have been patients of Bayview since I adopted my first kitten at the age of 4 months in 1996. Max developed diabetes when he was 6 years old and lived for 9 more years with the loving care and devotion of Dr. H. Mellor and the staff at Bayview, from the reception staff to the vet technicians. Finnegan is now the recipient of that excellent care. I cannot thank them enough. Finn & I both put our trust in them.

This is beyond a 5 star operation. The staff is extremely compassionate. We lost our cat recently, her name was Kitty. She was 12. My mom passed away, Kitty was her pride and Joy. She made us promise we would take care of her, and we did. Losing Kitty was one of the hardest moments for us on several different levels. Most importantly we adored her. The staff was compasionate and very gentle. They even went as far as to send us a sympathy card for our loss. Even amongst this Covid epidemic, they took the time to reach out to us to offer support. This is a first class establishment. Thank you for your compassion amd support.

I do not recommend this clinic as they are so business oriented rather than pet care focused. They make you sign up for annual plans with hidden fees (sign up one time fee) and try and up sell you on everything including pet food and unneeded procedures. I would stay away.
