It's never a good thing to say, but I wish I could go back to the Lansdowne Animal Hospital. The staff is unremarkable, politely addressing and answering any questions or worries clients may have about their pets problems. Dr. Iraei, the veterinarian and owner of the hospital, serviced my dog quickly while offering a wide range of solutions during the consultation. Furthermore, he was gentle dealing with my animal and showed great care in refraining from hurting him. And before I knew I was in, I was already out. The dedicated, wonderful staff of Lansdowne Animal Hospital, in addition to the fast service, assures that I will hopefully (not) need to return.

I have been going to lansdowne animal hospital since late last year when my cat had crystals in his urine from stress of moving to a new home. I went to another vet which diagnosed my cat with alopencia which I knew was bogus as my cat was in pain cause he kept crying. Lansdowne pinpointed the problem and confirmed my cat my cat didnt have a licking problem. Dr.Cady is such a warm and kind yet who loves seeing me and my cat Sterling. I have to say they are a very kind and understanding vet practice and I like that they only assign one vet per patient as it's the best way to get the best treatment for our pets. The staff was very nice and were able to handle and examine my cat who has been known to get the best of multiple vet techs due to fear agression. When during a home visit my cat became too aggressive for the exam to be finished, I was credited for the vaccine and exam (even though the vaccines themselves were wasted). Very correct prices and a willingness to provide options for pets with behavioural issues, which his very appreciated. The place is small but frankly I prefer that fewer barking dogs and loud noises and little to no wait. I will definitely go back.

The staff have been great about squeezing us in when there was an emergency, and I don't feel like they are like other vets in the city that charge you a ridiculous amount for procedures you might not necessarily need.

All staff is super nice. They're always willing to try to find answers immediately which is important to me. Dr."I" is absolutely knowledgeable in many aspects that pertain to my pregnant queens needs before during and after delivery. He has spayed and neutered my kittens and there has never been an issue. I especially love that he contacts me personally and he gets other opinions before giving me his thoughts in regards to rare issues. My cats are seen quite quickly. Never much of a wait. The only thing I wish would change is the parking. It's pretty tight back there but I'm certainly not going to give up the best veterinarian in Ottawa because I don't love the parking situation!!

Although Lansdowne is a small Animal Hospital with lesser facilities and resources of Alta$ Vis$ it is an excellent place for routine pet matters and the Vet at Lansdowne is much more accommodating than the vets I've encountered at Alta Vista. Dr Iraei at Lansdowne genuinely likes dogs.. a real plus. My boxer was very ill with heart disease and had little time left. He was actually being treated at St. Hyacinthe Veterinary School as they have a great cardiology department. We'd make frequent trips to from Ottawa and there was a need to provide them with ECGs and blood pressure, weekly. I called Alta Vista to ask them if they would be able to take my dog's blood pressure but they only agreed if we had our dog do a thorough work up by their cardiologist. I told them all I need is a simple BP cuff put on my dog and a result I could sent to our vet at St. Hyacinthe.. The answer was a resounding no.. But Lansdowne assisted immediately. We've had other similar experiences where Dr. Iraei was always there for my dog.. Also a much more informal friendly practice than many.

Due to Covid I was not able to deal with Vet directly no problem as a check and spay surgery. I have used this Vet since 2006 for 3 pets and was very happy. But now I feel taken advantage of, the upselling was ridiculous. Always recommended - unnecessary and by rejecting EEG, blood work, cone I managed to save $700.00! But most upsetting was I was sent home with an anti anxiety/ chronic pain medication to give every 12 hours for 5 days! It was a regular spay surgery and why would I dope up my cat for 5 days. She is healthy and in good shape day after. Communication was done only with Support staff, all very friendly but not instilling confidence as their answer to questions were robotic. Sadly I will be looking somewhere else as my trust has been lost. The surgery was done well, clean cut and stitches.

My partner, dog, and I all highly recommend Lansdowne! At each visit, everyone (vets, vet techs, specialized surgeon, front desk staff) has been very professional and kind. Our dog is very small, and they put our nervousness at ease before her spaying surgery, which went smoothly. We take our four cats to Dr. Iraei at the Lansdowne Animal Hospital. We've had teeth cleaning (very important!), teeth extractions, blood work, x-rays, tests for thyroid/kidney function, regular check ups, etc. We trust him and the staff there completely with our feline family members. He is a very knowledgeable and experienced veterinarian. The staff is lovely, very helpful and friendly. They don't push products or services, and their fees are very reasonable. We highly recommend them.

Im a long time customer of Landsdowne, my dogs, rabbit, hamster have all been well taken care of. I made the mistake of moving my dogs file to another veterinary hospital. My dog developed a health problem and the quotes i was getting was way, way to high,,, i brought him back to Landsdowne where i was given a reasonable quote which included the test to diagnose. I have had to put my almost 15 year old cat to sleep last Thursday and it was important for me to take the time to write a review of the outstanding support I received all week from Dr. MacDonald. As my cat's health declined rapidly during the week, Dr. MacDonald took great care of him and he methodically and logically walked me through the various possible steps that could be attempted to make my cat feel better. He was considerate and thorough which enabled me to make informed decisions. He remained cost conscious during this process advising me of all that could be done and guiding me through finding the best path forward in my circumstances. This brought me a place where by Thursday, after the few things we tried did not provide the hoped for improvement, it became obvious that the only considerate thing that could be done at this point was to put my cat to sleep. Dr. MacDonald found the time to squeeze us in at the end of his day, walked me and my kids through the procedure, answered the very many questions from my son and was a constant presence for us all during this very difficult time. His support and dedication clearly went above and beyond and his true love of animals transpired at every step. While this was incredibly difficult, I am so glad we had Dr. MacDonald to help us. The way in which this was handled is what enabled my kids and I to have closure.

I recently brought my little guy to the Lansdowne Animal Hospital for his knee. I had been to another vet prior to this visit, and it seemed to be a medial patella Luxation and would require a 2000 dollar surgery. We went to get a second opinion at the Lansdowne vet and I'm sure glad we did. Not only are they super nice and patient with my dog, but they are also very thorough. Dr. Bijan Iraei really took the time to feel out his knees and asked to have an x-ray done. Which makes sense because they'd have to do surgery to fix it... but it made me wonder why the last vet didn't even bother asking to have x-rays done, which tells me I made the right choice getting a second opinion. After reviewing the results, Dr Iraei suspects that my dogs injury might be something else and may not require surgery. We're currently waiting on the results. Just to show you these guys really care more about the animals, rather than the money in your pocket.

Olive, my six year old pug/chihuahua mix, broke a tooth on a deer antler chew toy. Our vet quoted $1250 for the removal of the tooth - more if additional teeth needed to be pulled. My wife and I wanted to get a second opinion, and a co-worker of hers recommended Lansdowne Animal Hospital, so we made an appointment and brought our dog in for an evaluation. We didn't like the idea of shopping around for our dog, but we also felt as though we were being ripped off. Lansdowne ended up pulling three teeth. The doctor took pictures on his iPhone and showed us which teeth he had pulled. He was lovely to interact with, as were the front desk staff. Total charges amounted to $450. Needless to say, I highly recommend Lansdowne.

I've been with Dr. I and Lansdowne for 5 years, through two terminally sick doggies and now with my new puppy. They were STELLAR during my two dogs' sicknesses and always provided the most practical and cost effective treatment option. I am thoroughly impressed with the level of care and professionalism I have experienced at this vet. I had previously had my puppy in for shots twice with Dr. I, and never felt pressured to add the extra services available. Recently I was nervous to take my chihuahua, who is under 4 pounds, to be neutered. The newer vet Dr.Cady called me personally after office hours and spoke to me for 25 minutes answering my questions. She then decided to postpone the surgery until I had met her and felt comfortable. I was also given an option of who I wanted to perform the surgery based on my level of comfort with both doctors. The entire team including vet techs were all sincere and helpful during the process and my dog came out of the surgery with no issues. Prices are comparable, or sometimes lower, than other vets. I also received extra services with no charge (a check up, extra pain medication ...) when they were necessary for my puppy. Thank you, and I will remain a client at this vet for as long as I am in ottawa.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. I left my puppy at 11 am for his neutering surgery. I waited all day long and did not receive any calls. I decided to call them at 4:30 pm. After being put on hold, the receptionist told me he still hadn't had surgery. They left the poor puppy waiting all day long with no food and didn't even bother giving me a call. Do not go there.

My family has taken 3 dogs and two hamsters over a period of about 20 years to Lansdowne Animal Hospital. They were always so wonderful to us and our pets, going above and beyond and refusing to jack up their prices just because they could have. When one of our dog's kidney's turned into a cyst, doctor Z said it was serious but that he would try his best if we wanted to give Rosie a shot. He pulled off a near miraculous surgery and Rosie lived many more happy years thanks to him. We were so worried when we found out that Dr. Z was retiring but our fears were completely unfounded. The new doctor has treated my girl Lily just like Dr. Z used to. If I hadn't moved to Toronto I would have never ever dreamed of leaving Lansdowne Animal Hospital. So, so, so impressed with this place! I took my dog here for her annual check up and vaccines (new client), and everyone was so nice and non judgmental. My dog was a very nervous and did display a bit of fear aggression. All staff handled her with care and gave me the option to stay with her or step out. It was pretty stressful for me, but everyone assured me it was fine. My dog was rewarded with many treats afterwards to make it a positive experience. No one rushed to hold my dog down, and they took the time to try various options before resorting to it. Can't say enough good things. The price was also less than i anticipated. In May I exchanged a few emails with Lansdowne A.H. when issues arose for my beloved Bud and I needed to find a vet that would do an at home. On Saturday, August 15 I spoke to Meaghan to arrange such a visit. She was to speak to the vet and confirm a date and time and call me back. It is now Wednesday, August 19 and I still haven't heard a word. Sickening - the anxiety for me waiting for a call that never came and for my best friend that I couldn't help. How can you do that? Not so much to the parent of a suffering pet but to the pet themself? I wasn't looking to get his nails trimmed or to get him groomed. I was looking to do the last thing - and most important thing - a pet owner has the responsibility to do - ensure their animal isn't suffering and left languishing in misery which he did for a few days because of uncaring, unprofessional and deplorable incompetence. Bud is now free of his pain and mama did guide him to The Rainbow Bridge thanks to real professionals who took their mandate seriously. Lansdowne Animal Hospital - you should be ashamed of yourself!

VERY disappointed with Landsdowne Animal Hospital. Client for over 3 years and let them know my senior cat won't eat.. They can "try" and fit me in.. In 2 weeks. Ridiculous!!! ***UPDATE*** After closing my file with Landsdowne in early September and having Dr. Bijan Iraei call to follow up on the lack of communication at this practice, I recieved a phone call reminding me I had an appointment with my pet for tomorrow, November 18th. Unfortunately, my pet passed away within a month of what they deemed a "non emergency" so there will be no appointment, however there seems to still be a problem of miscommunication since I have closed my file with them just over 2 months prior.

I was very worried about my 11 year old Rottweiler but the calm manner with which Dr Iraie explained the results consultations assured me that even after six consultations he would identify the problem and appropriate treatment. I have a very well let's just say "high maintenance" cat. He's always keeping me on my toes with stuff he gets into and has had some health issues in the past. I've been taking him to landsdowne for the past 3 years and have always had a good experience. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, can rely on quick appointments if he's ill, provide me quotes on any treatment before hand to allow me to prepare for cost and also discuss various options available. Charges are fair never feel over charged. As long as I'm in the ottawa area I will continue to take my pets here.

I always felt like other clinics were more in it for the money than for the animals, but definitely not this one. 2 people referred me to this clinic and I will forever be grateful. They took care of my dogs like it was their own. When I brought my dog for a heart issue, the vet still looked at the dog as a whole and found out more issues that another vet just a week ago didn't see (or bother to mention).When we finally decided to put our dog to sleep, the vet was extremely caring, understanding and patient with us. We made an appointment to put our 19 year old cat to sleep at our home and they gave us a 2pm slot saying it would be probably 2 but between 2 & 5 if there were an emergency at the clinic. Well 2pm came, then 3pm, then 4pm, then 5pm and still no vet. All the young adults who grew up with her were waiting with her for the afternoon and had taken off work to say goodbye. We called them and it seems they completely forgot, the vet arrived around 6 and gave a half hearted apology with everyone already in tears from the ordeal. Prolonging our agony and tainting the whole already awful experience. Don't choose this vet! Terrible experience. No respect for their patients and the families :(

My dog recently had knee surgery at Lansdowne Animal hospital, and I cannot say enough about the excellent care she received. They treat your pet as if they were their own. This is obviously a very stressful time for both pet and human, and the level of care they took with both of us, providing me with updates, and sharing with me how she was doing throughout the procedure was above and beyond. My dogs vet tech Katie was absolutely wonderful, and I felt as though she were being treated the way she would have been if I were with her.. with lots of love and attention. The post care instructions were explained clearly and simply, and everything was easily documented for me to follow at home. I also know if I need anything while she is recouperating I can call and they will be there for me. I am so grateful for everyone at Lansdowne Hospital, and highly recommend them to anyone.

I am so so happy with the service I have received at Landsdowne Animal Hospital. They are some of the most kind and caring people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. When my pup was spayed, I was a little nervous as I had never been through the process before and the staff was great in making me feel comfortable and even sent me pictures throughout the day and updates of how she was doing. The weeks following the procedure, Dr. Cady was great with checking in and making sure everything was running smoothly. I must admit, I contacted her quite frequently with questions and concerns and she would respond quickly and ease my worry. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful place to help care for my pup, and I truly recommend them!!

Very knowledgeable staff, courteous too. I have had pets, both dogs and cats for over 20 years and have been to a few different veterinary clinics. I will gladly stay at Lansdowne. They do not gouge you for money like many other vets do. They are very helpful and take good care of our two cats. I have seen many cat and dog owners going to this clinic and everyone looked happy.

I love this clinic!! I have been taking my dog there for since he needed his very first set of shots. All of the staff are super friendly and always so helpful. Recently my dog had a double surgery and the staff were so accommodating to him and always kept me in the loop throughout the day to see how he was progressing. They are very thorough and understanding. I never hesitate to take my dog there or leave him there because I know he is the best hands possible. Even after moving 1 hour away from Ottawa, I make the commute because the service is that great :) I highly recommend!
