I share the concerns of those who have noted pushing unnecessary surgery (requiring anesthetic) on elderly dogs. Also, I note an issue of prescribing expensive, unnecessary medication. A new vet took my pup off medication, and has drastically alerted his overall course of treatment. Quite simply- 2 other vets are shocked by the risks you are willing to take with an elderly dog. Finally, in anticipation of the standard Elmvale Veterinary reply of 'we are available to speak to you about your concerns'- you rejected that opportunity when I emailed you with my phone number.

I have been going here for 10 years (since we got our German Shepherd Zoey) We don’t live very close but make the drive because we trust them. Last month we had to put our girl to sleep (very unexpectedly) and with all of the Covid rules - they made ever effort to make it the best it could be. We very much appreciated it and will never forget that! So a very big thank you to Scott & Dr. Lisa! This month, our Rottweiler broke his K9 tooth so we decided to have it removed. Dr. Ken (I’m not going to try and spell his last name ????) did a fabulous job! The surgery went great and he did an awesome job at explaining recovery and post op care! Our boy is back to normal and feeling great! Posting a picture of the tooth below - the thing was HUGE! ???? I am very surprised by the negative reviews on pricing - as I have always found them to be very fairly priced compared to our local vets and I have NEVER left there feeling pressured to spend more money then I should. I’ve actually had them convince me not to spend money that is unnecessary. The only complaint I have, which is small - but I’m still going to mention it so maybe it doesn’t happen to anyone else. When we were paying for our German Shepherds cremation- I wanted to pay in cash (as I always do) and Leanne was very rude, rolling her eyes and counting it - making it us very aware that she was annoyed about it. Call us old fashion but cash is still money and we shouldn’t be treated differently for paying with it. The owners have gloves and whatnot at the desk for their safety. So we really didn’t see the huge deal. But, the next time we came in, Priscilla took it no problem and was so sweet! Besides that minimal situation - I have nothing but amazing things to say! Thank you for all of the help over the years! We highly recommend you to everyone! ????

We were visiting my parents in Midland when we noticed our dog had a “hot spot”. Being that we couldn’t get home to our own vet, we paid a visit to Elmvale on a Saturday when most clinics in Midland and Penetang didn’t have a doctor on duty. Dr. Alfred was extremely nice and took time to explain everything. Her staff were very friendly and gentle with our dog. We couldn’t have asked for better service at a time when we couldn’t get to our regular vet.

Very ignorant, wouldn't stop talking so I could ask questions and when I finally could get a word in, one lady interrupted and told the vet she had to return a phone message and then they both walked away! I literally stood there dumb founded and couldn't believe how rude that was! I will never go there again.

Our beloved dog of 13 years suffered a sudden loss of balance called vestibular disease. Our own vet said didn't have any time to see him. We had heard about Elmvale and called and hoped. Dr, Storimans, Dr Alfred and Amanda are all great :-)! I have been taking my dog's there for almost 10 years after having had a bad experience with many vets in Barrie. They are like family! We have had dogs that have had many issues (bad luck) but, they always are there to help and, give good advice. I would recommend going there is you are looking for no nonsense advise but, I would say, they won't push for additional testing to save you money so, of you want peace of mind and, want to/can afford to spend a few extra thousand (like we do/did), they will give you the straight out answer and, you may be able to get an extra 3 months out of your beloved fur baby but, they are there for you and your fur baby. This is a great veterinary hospital. I had a sick puppy quite a few years ago. I had taken him to 3 different vets with out a proper diagnosis. Then I brought him to see Dr. Storimans who diagnosed him quickly. I've been taking my dogs here for about 15 years. Never had any problems. The staff and doctors are very nice and helpful! ❤️

My mom and me visited the Elmvale vet for my kitten Lily. She had two surgeries done and when we came back to grab a couple more pain pills, we asked how to get Lily to actually take the pill, as she was not very good at keeping them in her mouth. The guy that was helping us (I believe his name was Scott) was very helpful and friendly :).

Very thankful for the entire team at Elmvale vet. Our little kitty Navy is now at home after a two day ordeal which included unexpected day surgery for a ruptured anal sac. I have so many things to say about how the team made a scary experience manageable. First, they are very accommodating. We were fit in, encouraged to call and communicate with them which was important as our cats health did change in a 12 hr period. They went to extra lengths to make sure we were informed on her situation and different options available during the day. We got a detailed quote on the worst case situation ahead, which ended up happening and it helped us be prepared. The facility is lovely. It’s very clean and open with several areas including enough space to separate cats in crates from dogs which isn’t always possible in all waiting areas. The admin team is excellent, they are cheery and easy to chat with! Our cat saw both vets, Dr. Alfred and Dr. Storimans and both were excellent. For the initial appointment, medication, surgery and care the cost was affordable and I am very pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend. Thanks again! ????

Where do I start, We took our dog knowing he had DCM, asking for medicine to make his life better till he passed. We were told we had to have conclusive testing done, meanwhile water in lungs and heart beat was CONCLUSIVE. 6 Thousand plus dollars we are told he has DCM. Meds are approx 700.. a month which we paid happily. Months later after numerous fainting spells we got the courage to do the right thing and let him go. When we arrived, he seemed normal, as anyone dealing with DCM knows they have their good and horrible days. They didnt want to put him down as he seemed fine, although daily he was fainting and having horrible episodes. So we ordered meds for the month and left, the next day he was so bad, it was horrible, we had to go back to put him to sleep. At this point we were hysterical. After he was put to sleep his meds were on the bill we had ordered day before! They said because they had the sticker on it with his info, it was non returnable???Thet never even left the building? Complete disbelief. I still cry thinking what he went thru, back and forth and unnecessary tests!

I have been a long time customer elmvale veterinarian and they are only about the money and what they could sell you that that you don't need... they are only about the money I am on disability add they failed to review the records properly shared from the Beaton veterinarian continued selling me garbage for my dog which should have been put to sleep due to serious illnesses then to avoid any type of responsibility they sent me a letter stating they will no longer take care of my dogs I strongly suggest everybody read They're Shifty reports

Took my puppies to get their shots 3 years ago. Try to tell me one was needing a special surgery and needed a specialist brought in ( 3 years later the pup is perfectly fine with no health issues). The vet then gave out my number to someone after I told him the puppies were already spoken for . This person called me and said the vet told him I have puppies for sale. Very unprofessional. He was very rude and I felt very uncomfortable.

All of her pups go there n we r afraid they too will be hurt .beware .they r in it for money.not like a doctor not to care for there patients.
