This is an excellent vet and team for anyone looking for a good exotic vet. I have taken my rabbit to a few different clinics, and these people are amazing; they handled her expertly and were thorough and detailed in their examinations, more so than any other location I had been to for locally available care. They understood the severity and urgency of G.I. stasis in rabbits, and we were able to come in on short notice when it was necessary. I can't give them high enough praise.

I have been seeing Dr Baird since the beginning of the year for my rats and it has always been a positive experience. She is great with small animals as was Dr Miu whom I saw for a follow up once. One of my rats had tumor removal surgery and another had an enucliation done as well as some uri treatments. I wouldn't take them anywhere else.

The vet was very nice, didn’t seem like the type that tries to upsell you on everything. I took my bunny here and they did a free nail trim and also shaved out her mattes! Exam fee is higher than some other vets but they were able to get me in quickly and no complaints otherwise.

Forgot to check on my puppy's stool sample for over a month which caused my puppy pain and suffering. My dog lost 10% of his body weight due to parasites and I had no idea why he was throwing up because they simply forgot to check the last stool sample we sent them, a month prior. Don't worry they won't forget to bill you on time though. Skip them and go somewhere else. Lesson learned: be proactive in your own pet's health because even "professionals" have no interest in being diligent.

I took my 9 month old puppy here for a checkup because he had some skin issues on his back that cleared up well. When I took him in, he was uncomfortable around the vet and I didn’t know why until she started trying to get right in his face, look in his ears etc. Very aggressively. She was trying to hold him down, which he didn’t like. She then called in another vet to hold his body down while she grabbed at his face, and asked me to leave the room. She let me in after a minute or so and told me that he had tried to BITE her, so they muzzled him. She told me she couldn’t look at him today and that she would need to tranquilize him and that I should leave him there for the night. Now I know why he doesn’t like her, and I don’t plan on bringing my dog back ever again.

My dogs walk by here every morning and try to pull me in to say hello. Warren is an amazing surgeon who helped make my previous dog's last few years comfortable and happy. Dr. Miu is not only a sweetheart, she's incredibly thorough and obviously loves her patients like they were her own. Friendly and competent staff who are extremely knowledgeable and can answer any questions you might have. They also have a great selection of vet recommended food, treats and specialty shampoos. Great hours as well.

I've brought my cats to a number of vets because I move so often, but the staff at Oakville Animal Clinic was the best. We're sad to be leaving them after moving again, but I wanted to make sure to write a good review. Dr. Miu was so wonderful and caring for our cats, and she helped to diagnose our one cat's asthma, which made a dramatic difference in his health. Went there twice. First time cost me $221 to clean my dog's ears. I bought the medicine (as I wanted to clean myself, but my dog seems to dislike it so I went to the clinic, thinking they may use some special ways to treat him). They did not use the medicine that I brought and used their own, which adds the price, this one I can agree as maybe my medicine is not right, then they asked me if I want my dog get a injection to make him better, I said yes, and they did not tell me the price, so I think won't be sooo expensive. Then I went to pay and they said $221. I wad shocked but my friend told me she also paid $300 so I think maybe it is ok. However, the second time I went with my dog to get vaccine. Then they give me a container and ask me to get some poop, I was shocked, why they need poop? The price of vaccine is about $200, and annual health examination ( which I paid last time) is $145 and cleaning ear was $42. What? I never even knew about this. Also they said that my dog has something like toe out so they advice me to have therapy.

Even though I was devastated when I heard that my cat Margaret had a large mass, I believe the way handled the situation made it more tolerable. They really helped me when it came to making one of the hardest decisions in my life. A couple weeks later, I received a kind hand written note from on of the Doctors. Blew me away.

This is the best vet's office I've ever been to. Dr. Miu has been incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgable. Both her and the staff are always available to answer questions, and offer assistance. Dr. Miu saw my cat after her exam and subsequent treatment twice for follow ups without additional charge, and has offered samples of medication and food to try. She patiently answers all of my questions and concerns, listens, and takes the time to explain and understand, which I appreciate very much. You can tell that everyone at this clinic really cares about their patients. They are great with fitting you in for appointments and making sure you are taken care of in a timely manner, and are sensitive, kind, and knowledgable. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a vet!

Our experience at the Oakville Animal Clinic has been outstanding. Dr. Baird had been caring for our little recue Shi Tzu for the last ten years and has always been so kind and gentle and caring. She provided us with various treatment options and allowed us to decide the best course of action. Several days ago, we had to make the worst decision for the best thing in our lives, and Dr. Baird gave us the time and space that we needed to make the decision. She ensured that our Dylan had our love, our touch and our presence to the end. Dr. Baird is a compassionate, caring and knowledgeable vet who genuinely cares for the well being of animals. Despite Dr. Miu being extremely understanding, kind, and attentive, our entire experience at this clinic was super disappointing. I see the high reviews and believe them, but whatever happened with our dog was 100% disturbing and wrong. We came in with our Boston terrier Albert, on April 2nd 2018. He was showing vague symptoms of fever and had hair peeling off his face. It was diagnosed as a skin infection and he was prescribed an antibiotic. After being on this antibiotic for about 10 days with ZERO improvement, it was suggested he may have cutaneous lymphoma on April 13th. The biopsy returned negative and we were told to continue him on the antibiotic despite the fact there still was no improvement. He was getting regular checkups at this time and finally they decided to culture the bacteria on April 23rd which we were told is quick- it took about 10 days because the lab was having staffing issues. Not our problem. During these 2 weeks Albert was not on antibiotics and getting significantly worse. The results finally came back on May 2nd showing resistance to every medication. Great, no antibiotics for Albert. I was told if it came back negative, they’d put together a combination of drugs and see if they could eradicate it. That never happened, instead, they decided to reculture on May 4th and the results came back on May 9th . This time it showed sensitivities to multiple medications- this makes a lot of sense ????????He was put on clindamycin and on May 14th, we let him go. He had gotten so ill so fast, was weak, presumably in pain, and was spiking fevers every other day. It is not my style to post negative reviews but Albert meant so much to the entire family.. he wasn’t even 10 years old. I studied medicine and understand how these things work but something just did not seem right. Like I mentioned at the beginning, Dr. Miu was an angel on the day we chose to let him go but everything else was awful. I sincerely believe this was an accident and don’t believe anything done was intentional, but I know things could have been dealt with better. It should not have taken 38 days to get Albert on the right antibiotic, that’s absurd.

Oakville Animal Clinic is amazing! You can tell that every staff member is there because they care about the animals. You don't see this in all clinics. My dog had to have a common surgery and when I told other dog owners who have been through the same what kind of care my dog recieved, they were astonished. They take that extra step to make sure your animal is getting the best treatment. And their priority really is the well being of the animal. The vets also do a great job to ensure I always know all my options. They take the time to explain my choices to me so I can make an educated decision that is best for me and for my dog. No pressure. I'm so happy my dog is under such amazing care and would recommend this clinic to everyone.

3 months ago we had a $500.00 bill for a cat fight injury. Brought him back for his already paid for follow up. Had to drop him at the door. They said they’ll give him his shots if I want even though it’s a month early. I said sure. A short time later he was delivered back to me at the car with a $600.00 bill! What!!! The unauthorized blood work for $200.00 really crossed the line I thought. They at least took the deworm charge off the bill because I’d just done it the night before. Thanks. That saved me $50.00. I would gladly pay to keep my pet healthy IF I was consulted first. Sadly I feel like I was taken advantage of given situation and will be looking for a new clinic.
