This Veterinarian is included in the category of Veterinarian.
Was a hard day for us to make a decision to say good bye to our fur-baby Heather the Veterinarian and staff was awesome at explaining what was happening and what the best course of action would be. They were kind and caring, they made a hard decision feel not so hard. They explained everything in full detail.
Pricey but, quality is remembered long after price is forgotten
Our Golden Lab means everything to us...and he CAN'T WAIT to visit Dr. Heidi and the amazing staff at Feltham Pet Clinic! "Waldon" was once part of the Canadian Guide Dogs program, so he's no stranger to getting excellent care. Front-line staff know him by name, and have cookies waiting upon arrival (very important to him). Important to us: Feltham Veterinarians conduct thorough examinations - feeling every lump-&-bump, even getting on the floor with him to ensure nothing is missed. After attentively listening to any concerns we may have, they provide us with a variety of options. They're not quick to order expensive tests or prescribe medications unless absolutely necessary...and their follow-up care is tremendous! We tried one other clinic in Victoria before neighbours recommended Dr, Heidi Rachlin. Here's what they DON'T do: They DON'T take him to another room without us, just to trim his nails, and they DON'T take one one look at him, make a snide comment, and diagnose him without even making eye-contact. (Yup, that happened at another clinic - who shall remain nameless) Relocating anywhere Greater Victoria? It's worth the drive to Feltham Gordon-Head Pet Clinic! FIVE-STARS (or as Mr. Dawg would say: "Woof-Woof! 2-PAWS UP!")
This clinic has an amazing team of hardworking, caring, efficient Doctors, Techs, and front desk staff. Dr Rachlin and Dr James have given both my cat and dog incredible care. Especially with Covid, this team has gone above and beyond to ensure our family is healthy and happy. Thank you.
I have been a client of Dr Dan Thompson's for well over 20 years. He is now a part (medical director) of this wonderful clinic. I've been 2 times since the new improved hospital opened last November. Once for an annual check up for my standard poodle (and shots) and that appointment as usual was with Dr Thompson. Yesterday my dog Lena developed a limp and this morning the leg was tender enough to the touch that she growled at me. NOT a usual thing with her! So I remember reading that if THAT happens you should see a vet because the dog could be in pain. I just showed up at the clinic (not my usual method but I didn't like the idea she was in pain) and the girls at the front desk were AMAZING. One vet, Dr Houston was just going into surgery but she was kind and compassionate enough to see us quickly and she gave us some NS drug to help in case the dog developed any swelling. Which was really all I wanted -to know that Lena was comfortable and that a professional had looked her over. She did a very quick exam and could not find anything alarming so it is a watch and see situation. Bottom line I would not take my dog ANYWHERE else in the city. The prices are reasonable (as noted by other reviewers) and the staff are knowledgeable and truly care about your pets. Both my other dogs have been served by Dr Thompson and although I will continue to use him I would not hesitate to see Dr Houston again. She and the other vets at the clinic exemplify the strong professional and compassionate standards set by Dr Thompson!
Caring and compassionate, we just said goodbye to our 16 year old Black Lab and the staff were very thoughtful in their approach with this painful time. The flowers and card the following day was appreciated.
i take my dog and cats here. they have great friendly staff, knowledgeable vets. they treat the animals with great care and compassion.
They treated my cat well, when I had to bring him in. They are very caring with your pets.
Sparky begged me to write this, "Dr. Heidi is my favourite."
Was way to expensive and the vet pushed unesscery meds on us
I have been going her for over 30 years. They have always been very kind and helpful. I feel my pets have had the best care possible here.
Amazing staff and always helpful
Amazing staff and veterinarians. Professional, kind and accommodating. Times I've forgotten to refill my dogs prescription till the last second and they fill it within an hour. Will be loyal to this establishment as long as they're in business. Keep up the great work guys!
Very poor reception. Disorganised, inconsistent and messy information. Too crowded in waiting room. Poor parking. Won't recommend it to anyone. Too bad as we really loved our vet - we were Dr Thompson's patients for almost 12 years and since he moved to this place everything went downhill.
Caring vets who put your pet first. Knowledgeable staff who are happy to answer your questions.
I just want to say a quick thank you to the doctor and staff at this clinic as they helped saved our cat's life. We didn't have a regular vet before, but I think we do now. Thanks again!
I have to love it, It's my Dr's clinic.
They're helpful and empathetic. Grace, Christy and McKenna have been flexible with my schedule when I needed it! For someone with an Addisonian, they've been great!
The staff are all wonderful and take such good care of pets. They're very kind and understanding.
Kind and welcome staff! Honest about prices and needed treatments.
They know what they’re doing there
It's a beautiful facility, but it doesn't come cheap. It does sometimes feel like they err on the side of caution with as many meds as they can justify.
We just started going to this vet with our new kitten. I'm very happy with our experience so far -- the vets and staff are friendly, kind, knowledgeable and thorough. They seem to have excellent availability for appointments and a nice clinic space.
They are very caring.
Great visit for our dogs
Love the food but staff was slow to seat us
Feltham Pet Clinic is absolutely wonderful! We LOVE Dr. Rachlin! Always cheerful. Always smiling. She has been fantastic with all of our pets, but has been especially helpful with our Leonberger, who has some pretty significant allergies. We're finally on the right track with him due to her knowledge and expertise, and we're so grateful that he is much more comfortable now. Most dogs are terrified to go into a vet office. Our Leo pulls us towards the clinic even if we're out on a walk and happen to pass near! The staff are always very friendly and knowledgable and we always have a positive experience. Many thanks to all of you!! :) The Mah Family + Zaz, Malik, Sadie, Lexi and Finley.
I and my family want to say many thank you for Dr. Kevin Keller. My lovely dog had the skin disease, and we went to a few hospitals (that includes some big hospital and special skin doctor from Vancouver), cost more than one year and big money, but no any helps. Then I went to Feltham Animal hospital to try, and met Dr. Kevin Keller. He is nice, and check my dog carefully, and just did very little test and give me the pharmacy prescription, just cost very little money, and he fixed my dog's skin disease that has a few years . Dr. Kevin has very high professional skills and also very nice. He can cure serious disease and cost a little. Dr. Kevin Keller is a great doctor.

Great service and care about pets more than money.
HORRIBLE VET. Guaranteed everytime you go into there, there will be a fight with a customer and the vet. They are uneducated, expensive, and do not care for you pet. They will tell you to look up everything on your own even though you pay money for them to know what is wrong. They usually charge me $80 for a checkup, but this time they charged $95 I asked why is it way more. Front desk lady said "it's the tax" when clearly it says the tax is only $4. HOW ARE THEY THIS PATHETIC, apparently they gave a discount last time that I was unaware of?? More like an excuse to charge what they want. You have been warned. I am warning everyone. That is all. Thanks.
Worst vet in town, brought my cat in for a flea problem and they sent me off with revolution and told me to enjoy the next 3-6months of infestation. Any other vet wouldve taken my cats health alot more seriously and prescribed more effective and cheaper treatment at that. They only care about profit, any other vet would tell me about capstar immediately rather then pretending that it doesnt exist.
Excellent patient centred care. The whole staff from front to back make you feel welcomed and comfortable. They are also wonderful with my pet and make her vet visits fun!
Read all the reviews. Stunned at reading the very negative one. Did they get the right clinic? We've been bringing our Aussie/Springer cross here for over two years. At first it was because they were close by. But our experience here has been great. Never had to wait more than 5 min. They once stayed open for us after hours on a Sat to give us some flea medication. Our dog has been treated for torn dew claw, vomiting, and fleas. Plus the regular checkups and shots. I agree with previous review that they don't rush to do expensive tests but on the other hand wouldn't hesitate to give your dog urgent attention if needed. I trust this place. Our dog does not like clinics in general but she will tolerate Feltham. Highly recommend them.
I have been coming to the Feltham Pet Clinic for years with all my four-legged babies. I have always had a fantastic experience. The front end staff are very helpful and knowledgable. All the vets I have seen have been very understanding and always responded to my concerns. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience.
We have used this clinic for the last 17 years. Two cats and four dogs later we are still very faithful clients. Heidi's demeanour and expertise are top notch and her front end staff are courteous and professional.
I have been bringing my dogs here for the past 15 years. My most recent experience was very disappointing. I informed the vet of my dogs symptoms and then the vet asked me what I'd like them to do. I would expect a vet to offer options and opinions on what the issue could be and solutions to try. This was not the case. The vet performed a minor, but unpleasant procedure on my dog and my dog was not given any treats or pats during or after. The total encounter with the vet was less than 5 minutes and the cost was significant. Seeming this was not the first poor appointment we have had, I will be looking for a new vet.
Always courteous and professional
Our puppy had some difficulties after being neutered at a different Veterinary Hospital in Victoria. The other Vet was very unhelpful and unfriendly when we let them know our puppy hadn't attempted to relieve himself 30+ hours after surgery. We called VCA and they asked us to drop him off in the morning so they could monitor him for the day. They updated us throughout the day and asked before performing any tests that would add cost. They were professional and friendly and the Doctor always took her time explaining her diagnosis. When we picked our puppy up I was expecting a far larger bill then we received considering he spent the whole day there. This is a great place with great staff who really seem to enjoy themselves and the animals they care for!!
I've been taking my dogs to this clinic for close to ten years. Dr. Rachlin and her team have provided excellent care for general wellness as well as a number of conditions we have encountered over the years. Front desk staff provide excellent personalized service, and have played a big role in helping my newest dog transition from being extremely stressed at the vet to pulling me in the door!
Great vet. Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Doctor James was great! My doodle baby always comes home in high spirits, is excited to be there, and is a healthy, happy boy after every visit.
My kitten got spayed recently and we found several scratches on her surgery place. After we took her home and checked the next day that we found two of her nipples got scratched and a piece of skin got scratched at the shaved surgery place. That must be the person who shaved her hair never thought about protecting her nipple area. I am so upset with the experience at Feltham Animal hospital.
Excellent staff and team of doctors. We had been in and out multiple times in the last year with our elderly cat. Always able to get in with a timely appointment when he was sick. Very kind and helpful by phone when I called multiple times towards the end of his life and helped us navigate when we needed to go to the hospital. They even sent us some flowers after he passed away. When we get another pet in the future will definitely be a return customer here
We have been taking our pets to this clinic for many years, and always have positive experiences. The front-desk staff are incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and our pets love Dr. Rachlin! Dr. Rachlin is friendly and professional, and very good with my fearful dog (who actually pulls me into the clinic with a wagging tail, waiting for the team to share some treats:)). I would highly recommend this clinic!
Great staff
My dog became suddenly very sick, and she wasn't even a patient at VCA, but they took her in with no issues. It was discovered that she had somehow swallowed a mango pit and needed urgent surgery, which they performed and saved her life. She recovering beautifully and I owe her life to VCA. I would highly recommend them and their amazing staff, I wish I could give more than just 5 stars!
Very friendly staff.
Thank you so much for the team at VCA . My Kitty is already showing signs of comfort and happiness. Our family is extreamly greatful
Always take my pets there
If I have a concern about my dog I feel that all my questions are answered in a timely manner.
Great friendly and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful hospital!
I have been taking my dog to this clinic for about a year now and the only reason i started going to them is because they are located near my home. In that one year period i have taken my dog there 3 time and i also have purchased flea medication from there as well twice. I have to say that this clinic has the worst customer service, and they do not care about their clients. They overbook so when you have an appointment and you arrive on time for your appointment, you still have to wait 20 to 30 min to see the Dr. Some front office staff are rude and they do not listen when you are trying to talk to them over the phone or in person to explain to them what the issue is with your pet The only reason i put up with the bad service for a year is because they were so close to my home. I went in to the clinic today to bring up the issues I had last time I brought my dog there. The receptionist was not helpful and when I said I would switch vets she offered no advice as to how to make the situation right. That is why i would not recommend this pet clinic to anybody.
Our pups always see Dr. Houston, she has been so kind and compassionate in finding a diagnosis for our family dog. We couldn’t have hoped for a better veterinarian to help us through this difficult time, she really is the best!!
Friendly service except Sonya
The most caring and unified veterinary team out there. My cat has been receiving regular care from this hospital for more than 6 months. He suffered a blood clot last year which badly damaged his leg. Dr. Heather James worked with multiple doctors in the city, including Dr. Preston at the VCA 24 hour emergency hospital to find the best resolution and after 4 months the leg was miraculously healed and he was trying to use it again. Unfortunately my cat also suffered from hyperthyroid and heart disease and the other day we came home to find him on our kitchen floor suddenly struggling to breath. After a quick call to the Feltham hospital the front end team advised me to bring him in immediately even though they were booked solid and when we arrived they entire team including Dr. James and Dr. Keller were ready and waiting for him. I've never seen anything like it. The attention and care my cat received back there was better than anything I've seen in human medicine. Sadly it was determined that my poor boy was experiencing heart failure and there wasn't really anything we could do but help him leave us as quickly and painlessly as possible. In the end the Feltham hospital team was so comforting, professional, caring and they even cried with me and comforted him as they too loved my cat. Even reminiscing about his previous visits and how many obstacles he had overcome. It helped me immensely having this kind of support while losing an important member of our family. It's obvious how much these individuals deeply care about their patients and clients. I highly recommend Dr. Heather James, Dr. Kevin Keller and the entire team at the Feltham Animal Hospital. They go the extra mile, especially when it matters the most. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and from Roo Bear's too.
Such an unhelpful clinic. I spent near a $1000 just to get sent away to someone else and didn’t find out anything useful from them. Terrible customer service as well - I had to get x rays on my dog from them and they got the results back and referred me else where’s and wouldn’t tell me what was on the results. I had to pay an addition $400 to find out and it took two weeks and four trips the vet just for her to finally call me and give tell me my dog should of been on anti-inflammatory medication the whole time... so that two weeks of wait just made my dogs knee way worse without medication. I’m tired of how every clinic is a huge money grab. Start loving your animals more than your bank account & maybe than you’d be a good clinic.
There'd be 4-5 staffs sitting around or walking/chating, and only one or two customers and you still have to wait like 15 mins to get in. And even when you do get in you have to wait for an extra few mins just for one of them to look at you. Perhaps a "we will be with you shortly" will be nice? If you like chill af folks feel free to go here. If you like efficiency, literally everywhere else is better.
They take good care of my pet. They offer every possible service that could be applicable to your pet. I am confident that they can take good care of my pet. I usually decline some of the additional tests and examinations they offer since my dog seems to be very healthy. They are very professional. My worst experience there was when they tried to get me to reschedule when I showed up for a follow up visit because the vet I booked with wasn't there and the other vet didn't want to give the vaccination without billing me a second time. I had to put my foot down because my time is valuable and I don't want to work around their billable hour issues. I trust them to care for my pet but like many places you have to make sure you get exactly what you want.
The administrative staff was very helpful and informative. I did nit see a vet during this visit. Will return.
Very accomodating getting us in with little notice. Great advice from the vet saved us some money
