I’ve had dogs all my life, and any dog owner knows that vets and their services and prices can vary quite a bit. This vet office is amazing to deal with; the receptionists are helpful and friendly and actually care. The vet doctors themselves are kind and compassionate, and don’t recommend treatments just because. I trust them to keep my dogs best interest in mind, while also keeping in mind the costs involved in those treatments. Definitely worth the drive if you’re outside the area.

Caring staff members working as fast as they can. They explained vaccine risk factors, treatment schedule. Handled a call from an owner of a sick animal professionally. The waiting room featured lots of pre-ordered specialty food, with a selection of food on a shelf. Collars and muzzles were also available..

I take both my cat (who is not easy to deal with) and my dog (who is very friendly) to Weste Animal Hospital. They are really great, they never try to push drugs or products it's just about what is best for you pet. We drive a little extra just to take our pets there.

Dr Goodman and Dr Redgrave are two of the vets that have cared for our dogs and I have to say they both exhibit a level of care and patience not only with our dogs but also us as concerned fur baby parents. I do not live close by so I have only had the privilege of taking my pet here twice but both times the staff were amazing and genuinely seemed to care about my pet's well being rather than just my bank account. My first visit I was getting a second opinion, which in the end only cost an exam fee and about a $15 prescription rather than $900+ , the first clinic in Halifax quoted. It's something rare to find this day in age, I wish we had vets like this in the city.

I have been a client for many years. Just a great group of fantastic people working there, from the front desk staff to the vets who care for our pets. One memorable moment was when my German Shepard refused to get his nails clipped. All the staff gathered around to distract him. When it was done everyone was cheering! Such a great environment. I’ve also had two dogs put to sleep. Both times there was a detailed explanation with true compassion and empathy, something that generally dissipates over the course of a career where injures, death and sorrow are a daily occurrence.

My 70 year old friend took his 13 year old cat who was very sick to the vet to have her put to sleep. This gentleman babied his cat for all that time only to have the cat go through 45 minutes of torture by the young vet on duty the other day. My friend is outraged and in disbelief by what this vet did to his cat. The vet phoned him later that night to say he was sorry for the way he treated his cat, and my friend had some choice words for him before he hung up. My 70 year old friend is broken hearted and thinks the cat felt betrayed by the man who loved her by the way she was treated in her final 45 minutes on earth that was pure and simple torture by an incompetent vet

It's very sad that my dog had tests done on friday for Cushings and told will have results on Tuesday. Well Tuesday is here and they tell me I cant get results until Wednesday or when the dr comes in that seen him. I guess no other dr can read that results as my dog seen many different dr there. Last time I have my dog or any animal taken there.

Such a gift to have a vet as Dr. Weste, offering such care, knowledge and compassion for the animals. We have seen Dr. Weste on many occassions over the years with our dogs and have never been sorry we did, in fact on numerous occasions we simply came to Dr. Weste from out of town for her guidance. Our girl Miss Pyper suffered from polys over the past 3 years. We lived in Ottawa at that time, vets were not sure what to do givibg us no solutions. We arrived back home to NS and saw another vet and even a holistic vet at an astromincal charge trying to get treatment for our girl with no success. We had thought Dr. Weste was retired and luckily, thankfully she was not. She immediately saw Miss Pyper and successfully removed the polyps. No extra crazy fees no promises not meet, just care given that was needed. The entire staff were wonderful even through these difficult "new" ways that must be adhered too. Thank you all so much for truly caring for the animals and showing compassion to the owners and not taking every last penny to be able to look after our fur babies????????

I found the front desk staff rude and patronizing. I had been told i would recieve a call the night before regarding a neutering. When i did not hear from the staff I called and confirmed the appointment and asked if there were any special instructions. I was told everything was on schedule and to just show up. When i arrived the next morning I did not bring the required accessories and was told they had left a message on a machine....apparently though not mine. After telling them i never recieved a message and that i had called to confirm, they stated they didnt pass on the info to me when i called bc they thought a message had been left. I was also given a difficult time about pick up time when i had discussed timings previously with them. Maybe this was an off day for the staff but i wouldn't reccomend here based on the staff I met.

We recently changed vets to Dr. Jen Zahradka. After almost a year of our elderly bulldog seeing a handful of vets while battling chronic infections and being on constant antibiotics, she is now 2 weeks without medication and doing great all thanks to Dr. Zahradka! Dr. Zahradka was prompt, professional and thorough in her examinations and she provides excellent care for both of our bulldogs.

This vet immediately diagnosed my german shepherds eye condition called pannus...I brought him to weste for a second opinion after a very expensive trip to the eastern passage vet where he was misdiagnosed and prescribed the wrong medication for his eyes. the best vet for german shepherds.
