I think most pet owners (uh, servants?) have a sense of humour. The staff and doctors at Sunnyview somehow manage a great sense of humour, while at the same time providing a level of professional comfort. One key aspect of Sunnyview is that they are progressive, looking at new therapies and treatments, seeking knowledge and applying that knowledge to the care of your furperson family member. And that's the other part of Sunnyview, they treat your pet as a member of your and their, family. I've never found this degree of care, patience, knowledge and insight from a vet before. Rates are fare and reasonable, the care is wonderful.

Where to start. When I moved to Halifax 10 years ago I was worried I'd never find a vet I could trust with my large and mostly exotic family. Thankfully we found Sunnyview and Uncle Jeff, who have always treated my scaly kids with nothing but respect and love! Over those 10 years there has been a lot of funny moments and a lot of heart break. Sunnyview staff have been there with my husband and I through all of it, and they always handle my often over the top pestering with ease. My furry and scaly family might be smaller now but I will always count the staff at Sunnyview as family. We've since moved 2 hours away but they will always be our vet and I will always stand by them as being the best!

I called multiple vets to get my rat in to be euthanized, he had gone down hill very quickly. The other five vets I called said they wouldn’t be able to get him in for 2-3 days, which wouldn’t work. When I called sunny view they said they were fully booked but would get us in anyways. They were kind and everything you want a vet to be. We really appreciated that they were there for us.

I needed a vet for my brand new puppy, since my cat has been seen by a cat only clinic since first moving to Nova Scotia. My searches lead me to Sunnyview and I couldn't be happier with the care we've received to date. We travel from the downtown/waterfront area and feel the care we receive is absolutely worth the short 20-25 minute commute. I have seen Dr Goodall and Dr Levesque. Both are well informed, kind and thorough. The support staff (office & patient care) are very knowledgable, calm, kind, and helpful. Some of the best I have seen! Glad to have found a vet clinic that works so well for cedar!

I find it very sad that I can only give 5 stars! I love Dr. Jeff and Dr. Jenn...they have the best treats!!! I am so lucky that my people found this place to take care of me when I need medication for my ears, needles to keep nasty sicknesses away or some drops for those awful ticks and fleas! I even had an operation here once when I needed to be “fixed” (I didn’t feel broken so I’m not sure what they meant)...it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be because I was in the caring hands of Dr. Jeff♥️ My people bring my brothers here too. They are guinea pigs that are now 6 years old. They are senior citizens but are still going strong. My mom person tells everyone about Sunnyview and now my cousin, Towser, comes here and my new little buddy, Cooper. The only thing I don’t like about going to see my friends at Sunnyview is when they try to weigh me....they don’t seem to understand that no girl likes to have an audience when she steps on the scale!!! Brought my rabbit there today for an emergency appointment since my usual rabbit savvy vet was booked. Dr. Jenn was so sweet and made me feel so much better by the end of the appointment, and I could tell she really cared to help out my little bun. She was thorough and made sure we covered all our bases just to be safe. The whole team was amazing! Even gave him a complimentary nail trim while he was out back which is so thoughtful. There is nothing better than taking your feathered or furry family member to a veterinarian who not only is doing their job, they are truly caring for your pet. We had an emergency with our parrot and I was so impressed with the quality of the service and the thorough examination he had recieved. The staff not only aids your pet, they put your mind at rest as well by being sure when you leave that you know your loved one is on the way to recovery. They spent an hour examining Spirit and I left with the confidence that he would be ok after administering the treatment recomended. Thank you to the kind ladies who work and make Sunnyview Animal Care Centre a great place to go to for piece of mind concerning your pets health. Thank you so much! It realy was a great experience even though I had an animal in distress. Called them pretty much begging them to see our sick African Grey . Was told it was not possible because the doctor only does surgery on that day and that they don't do emergencies. It wasn't even after hours. After seeing the reviews, I am really disappointed and stunned to encounter the lack of compassion I received on the phone. Edit to reply: yes, she provided the phone numbers. Metro doesn't see birds ( they told me so on the phone). I asked your receptionist about possibility on any time on Tuesday. She said it's not possible, because you only do surgeries. A bit odd. I can't expect animals to get sick on your clinic's schedule. I fully understand you have a life, and emergencies happen. But telling me that you will be in office, but you can't change your clinic's schedule to see a critical bird within your posted business hours isn't a good thing. And yes, the fact the we were willing to drive 3 hours to get to a qualified get for our bird, should've indicated how much we care about him Cheers

I took my baby Red-Rumped Parakeet in to Sunnyview for a checkup. The staff were very friendly and caring, accommodating, and seemed experienced. The Dr. we saw is experienced in avian care and left a very good impression. Aside from giving a very thorough exam, he cleared up a small worry I had about my birds nose. I won't hesitate to contact them in times of need, I left feeling satisfied that my bird has proper care available to him, especially in cases of emergency.

The staff where very friendly :) I did have to wait a little while for my appointment to start but was completely understandable as they had an emergency case. Once I was seen tho the vet was super friendly and had such a passion about bearded dragons and it showed. He made me feel very confident that I was doing all the right things needed for my beardie as well as gave me some helpful tips and tricks. So far (after 2 visits) I am extremely happy with Sunnyview. We have a new puppy and upon our first visit we received a puppy "guide book" with tons of helpful info, and the vet spent much longer with us answering questions and giving us information than I would have expected. We really felt like he cared about our puppy! I also love that he wasn't pushy at all with vaccinations and product recommendations. He gave us information and made it clear that we should also do our own research and make our own decisions. Really happy so far!

I've never met a vet quite like Dr. Marriott. Having two rescue dogs it's really important to me to have a vet that understands timid dogs. Everything about her exams just resonant calmness, patience and understanding. She'll even climb around on the floor with them to make them more comfortable! One of my dogs is very fearful of people and she makes his appointments so easy for him. Such a caring and compassionate vet that tells you like it is and never pushes things you don't need. I'd recommend her to anyone. The rest of the staff are also wonderful, always willing to answer questions on the phone (like explaining to me that black fly bites look gruesome but aren't anything to fuss about) and are always kind and courteous. Though they're not the cheapest clinic you definitely get what you pay for. If you're looking for a new vet give them a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Sunnyview Animal Care was recommended to us by multiple pet owners a year or so ago when we got our labradoodle puppy. Since then, I couldn't be more happy with the care he has received. Our dog can be a bit of a handful, and despite this, Dr. Goodall and the entire staff have been incredibly patient, welcoming, and kind at every visit. Our dog gets excited every time we pull into the parking lot. Dr. Goodall is a knowledgable veterinarian, who clearly loves animals of all kinds and cares about his patients. He and his staff are also excellent at keeping us up to date with our dog's needs, and are able to explain conditions/treatments in a thorough, but easy to understand manner. I would highly recommend Sunnyview to anyone looking for a veterinarian.

I went to this practice after getting my first car. My first check up was free which was amazing. Their practice is clean, everyone was extremely friendly. You could tell they were all animal lovers. The waiting area was cute, had many toys for the cat to play with while you waited to see the vet. After my cat got sick and was put down at this practice they were all very sweet and handled my tears with grace and patience. After a few weeks I got signed card from everyone in the practice saying their condolences. What a heartwarming letter. I extremely recommend this practice.

We are very happy with our experiences at Sunnyview. Talking to Dr. Jeff almost feels like talking to an old friend which makes the experience very comfortable. Dr. Jeff recently helped us work through some issues with our kitten Gilligan. If your looking for the best possible care for your furkids. This is it.... Dr. Marriott I have nothing but the largest amount of respect for. She was beyond “human” with me when the end came for my precious old girl in March. I believe she heartfeltly was heart broken right along with me. I feel very welcomed when I enter, whether it’s to purchase food or for an appointment. My fur kids are all older, and I worry often about them, but I’m never treated as though I’m annoying with phone calls for things. The front desk has often called me back as well if I’m wondering if my pet should be seen or I’m just worrying over nothing. Not a money grab clinic and they have shown and have proven to be honestly concerned over the well being of my fur kids.

Really liked this place... Until I didn't. Had a pretty rough experience over the past couple days between this place and the emergency center in Dartmouth. The best part was when the office manager called me while I was driving home from emergency to address my concerns. By address my concerns I mean he cut me off mid sentence because I used the word "hell" in one of my exasperated explanations, I'm worked up for sure but I don't think the word "hell" is a very big deal. But whatever, he's taking a firm stance while I'm distressed about my pet, that's his choice I suppose. Next, and I'm a little fuzzy here but I got the impression he was trying to blame me for not calling them right away, he then argued with me about the time I called in, which seems silly because I have all of the calls in my phone's call history with a very clear time beside them. I liked this place and I think they are great with animals. But I am completely shocked by not only the lack of compassion but the fact that the manager took such an aggressive approach to someone clearly going through something that's pretty tough for them. For this reason I suggest due diligence and caution when dealing with this establishment. If you decide to use them I hope you have a great experience, but know that they definitely have a harsh side as well. Update: So as I think about this more I think he called out the time of my call because he was looking at MY phone number when our first call came from my girlfriends. Either way, is the time I called in really what we are discussing when I'm upset about my pet having emergency surgery? Interesting response. Feels a bit fabricated and definitely hostile but I will respond anyway. If I brought anyone to tears I am deeply sorry. Both calls I made to your staff I indicated that I understood how busy they were and that they could not help me but that I was feeling lost and out of options and was seeking advice on any other locations they knew of that I could try. Unfortunately for our area the only option is a single location so their advice was the same each time. The second call I was especially desperate because our cats symptoms had worsened and I was hoping your staff could aid me in relaying that to the emergency center as they refused to see my cat at this point. Your staff did this for me and I thanked them profusely. Then, much later on my call with, I believe the owner, I made the comment that I was confused about what the "hell" was going on. And they immediately took the below approach with me. This is fine, perception is reality and it is quite clear how I was perceived here, true or not. I've shared my experience, people can judge for themselves. Best of luck in future endeavors.

Dr. Goodall goes out of his way to explain everything in depth and even does personal check-ins with his clients, which I'm very appreciative of, especially due to the most recent health escapade with one of my girls. I've trusted Sunnyview with the care of my cats since I moved from out of province in 2012. Even though I now live in Dartmouth, I will continue to make the trip to Bedford to support this clinic. Traveling through the area and needed the services of a vet tech for our 12 year old yellow lab. Friendly receptionist was able to get her in quickly,I was greeted by 2 vet techs that were fast,efficient and very friendly. Very pleased with the great service here thank-you!

I had been to Sunnyview with my cat a few times for minor issues and the vets and vet techs were always outstanding, preforming the exams on the ground or on one of their cat trees, where my cat felt more comfortable with being examined. When my cat developed a limp they wasted no time with making sure they got to the bottom of it. It was discovered that a past declawing had left bone fragments and she would need surgery, the wonderful vet, Dr. Jeff Goodall, had her booked for surgery and preformed it within a week. During her recovery Sunnyview would call to ensure she is healing properly and Dr. Goodall would email as well to answer any and all of my questions. All of the staff was so kind, caring, understanding and especially patient with me as I would call and ask questions or try to comfort my cat. In the waiting area there is dog treats and coffee and teas as well as catnip mice, and after different examinations they would offer my cat treats as well. If you want the most upbeat and truly caring environment with experienced techs and vets for your pets' care Sunnyview is the place to go. All of the staff really do have the best interest of the animal at heart.

I cannot say enough about how amazing Sunnyview Animal veterinarians and staff are. We first went to them 19 years ago with our second lab puppy. Everyone was so loving and attentive to Shiloh each time we visited. After losing our first dog at such a young age, they totally understood my fears for our new puppy. Shiloh loved going there. He couldn't get into the car fast enough and would drag us across the parking lot to get into the clinic. Shiloh lived to be 15.5 years and they were so caring and gentle with us and Shiloh when we brought him in after he couldn't stand. They made his passing as gentle and loving as a dog's passing can be. 4 years later we have a new puppy and just had our first visit there with her. She loved the whole experience. Need a vet? You cannot go wrong with Sunnyview Animal Hospital.

We just moved to the area and were referred to Dr. Goodall by my cousin who takes her dog there.Very friendly staff as soon as we walked in. Nice clean waiting area, separate areas for dogs and cats. As soon as we checked in we were told that appointments were running a bit behind due to an emergency. We greatly appreciated this, it prepares you right from the get go that there will be a bit of a wait. When we did get into the appt room, the techs were very apologetic and also very good with Tucker who was getting a little wound up from the wait. Dr. Goodall came in shortly after and also was very apologetic about the wait and explained that there was an emergency. Despite the wait and the fact that he was running behind he did not rush through the appt. He took his time asking questions about Tuckers history and explaining throughily expectations for Tuckers health as a senior dog, and answered all questions we had. Great experience and looking forward to having this team look after our boy.

We had the best experience at Sunnyview Animal Care! We recently brought home a new Great Dane puppy, and spent a lot of time researching various local vets with experience in XL breeds. We were recommended by a friend, took advantage of their complementary puppy check appointment and will never go to another vet again! Their level of care is amazing, from emails prior to our appointment allowing me to list any questions or concerns I would like to discuss, to talking to the veterinarian on the phone during the check up (we still received amazing care despite the fact that I was not able to enter the building with her due to our current provincial lockdown), to a follow up text message the next day to make sure our little gal did alright with her medicine. I cannot rave enough about them! I had gone to a different local vet with our last dog and definitely did not experience this level of attention to detail, and commitment — worth the extra 10 min drive from our house. They were very knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain the answers to my questions and never made the appointment seemed rushed. I honestly felt as though they loved our puppy as much as we did.

They took the best care of Maggie, called me after she had been examined , explained her issue thoroughly, talked to me in detail about her course of treatment, and took as much time as I needed to answer my questions.
