Great experience, and on short notice. They lived my dog and he was perfect for them too.
Great staff! They took very good care of my dog. And were very helpful and patient with my questions.
Loved it! Good people!
I have been going here with my pets for 30 years at least. Had good experience until the last few years. I have called 3 separate occasions and was told they are too busy and to go somewhere else. I did, I do not recommend taking your pet there. they do not care what's wrong with your pet they just don't have time to deal with you. I found a new vet and will never be back.
We have a very nervous and potentially aggressive dog in new places. Due to covid we weren't able to enter the building with him and were reluctant to go to the vet as we had moved from Toronto and hadn't been to a vet in Nova Scotia yet. Everyone from the receptionist, the vet tech and the veterinarian were extremely informative, professional and made my dog feel extremely comfortable. They didn't try to sell me things my dog didn't need, they offered treatment options and were fairly priced. I will definitely be returning and will definitely recommend anyone to trust your pets with them. Thanks a lot Spryfield Animal Hospital!
Took my cat here. Very friendly, knowledgeable and sincere. They don't force you into buying anything extra. They suggest but don't force. They took very good care of my "furbaby"
I have been going to Spryfield Animal Hospital for over ten years. The staff are very caring, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr Brown. She was amazing when I had to let my last dog go. And she is wonderful with my new puppy. Highly recommend her!
After some research I got a great recommendation from someone to try this clinic for our family pet. Honestly, Dr.Mencher is the best vet we have worked with. He takes the time to go over things with you, and always wants to find the best solution for your furry(or not so furry) family member. Even the team at the Spryfield Animal Hospital are all so professional, patient and considerate, making it clear when you have to bring your pet in. Some clinics just want an easy buck, so they tell you to come in, but Spryfield Animal Hospital is not like that. They run through symptoms, and all the necessary units to measure your pets health, then only do they ask you to come in. Thank you to Dr. Mencher and the team, you guys are doing a great job!
Has been some very good vets there but I have met some very bad ones that worked there
Love my kitty babies doctors and staff. I've been taking them to Spryfield Animal Hospital for over 20 years and they are awesome. Felix and Ali both agree that the staff are awesome, friendly and helpful with all their issues and questions.
Well, I go to this one, it's close to my home, and it is easy, for me, to get there! That is important to, me as I have, a son, for a cat named, Ramboo!
Great and friendly staff
I’ve been a customer at many vets and my experience here has been excellent. The staff are very approachable and caring. The prices are much more reasonable than other city vets.
We take all of our pets here. Our dog Shawna who passed was given nothing but love and respect while she was being cared for, right to the end. Thanks to all the wonderful staff there, who have been nothing but the best.
After multiple referrals to other vets. all information that is passed on by the referral vets to Spryfield you consistently have to hunt them down for the results. After spending a few thousand dollars in referrals, and not getting the information in a timely manner I'm changing Vets bye Spryfield. If you care for your Pet just go elsewhere
I needed a bit of assistance with some mats on my rambunctious adolescent kitty and these wonderful folks were up to the task. He is not good with strangers, but warmed up to this friendly crew almost as quickly as our regular vet practice, which recently closed. Thankfully, we have been super lucky as our favorite veterinarian has joined this location, which means my kitties new location is closer to home and full of friendly and familiar faces!
Clean office, professional and friendly staff.
I have been going to this Vet for 2 years since moving to the Spryfield area. I have given many chances and have still been yet to meet a staff member who is not RUDE! May it be that my pet is sick, that I am buying food, or calling with a question... I have been met with cold, rude, staff. If i am coming to you...my pet is sick... and we are both in distress and we require kindness and compassion. The prices are high, but I will pay anything for good service (not what you recieve here). They never have any openings, you always have to wait a month - but they keep taking patients... You can call to ask a question but they will just have you come in...when they can get you in, and they will charge you for every question. I spend about 300 min a month there on pet food etc, and I am NEVR met with a familiar smile or how are my pets... even when telling them at the counter about a concern I have about my pet... it is like they don't care/barley listen... they are nicer to the mailman then they are to their customers (ive sen this interaction it is like night and day)... I have 3 animals who attend there and they have never made me feel like they even care. I think there is one staff member who has been nice to me and she is new. Otherwise the onyl decent vet there (Dr. Emily Rider... is gone, she was a doll and she would call and follow up and was the only reason we were staying there). I don't take to writing negative comments on the internet...but this is a very COLD place and they have left me feeling so alone, and scared...even when I have called crying they have no sympathy. I don't know if they tell their staff to act this way or what...but it is NOT how you treat people or animals. I hope you read this and address this with your staff, I hope you talk about how this is the worst day for most pets/parents and it is YOUR job to make us feel like YOU have it under control. Please talk to your staff, please make these changes...or maybe some of you are in the wrong career...we all have bad days...but this is not the issue here... this is BAD business.... and please feel free to call me and talk to me about this... because I am spreading the word, and have found MANY who have felt this way about this vet. I see that these reviews seem to get "removed' here...won't be suprised if this one is. I am currently transfering all 3 of my pets to Tibmberlea as they are much more friendly and seem to be in business for the right reasons - it is worth the 30 min drive any day to know that my pets are in good hands... and I will glady spend my money elsewhere!
Friendly Staff. Clean and Great Pet Food Selection.
They are awesome!
Been taking my cats there for 4-5 years. Yes they are on the pricey end but the care is second to none. Great techs, friendly receptionist, awesome vets.
My girls Marlee and Eros live coming to such a great place. My girls are not always the easiest to care for because they are SPOILED, however the staff at the desk for me are Gracious in the way they care for my babies
My dog had not been to the vet in 3 years as we had a bad experience at our previous vet. When I called to book the appointment they seemed really nice. My dog is nervous and they were really great with him. They made me feel comfortable from the time I arrived until we left. My only regret is not calling them sooner. Very highly recommended.
The staff were so friendly and explained everything they were going to do and what to expect.i would highly recommend.
Knowledgeable and friendly
VERY DISAPPOINTING AND OVERPRICED… I almost never write reviews because as a previous business owner I sympathize with service providers. We have been client with three pets for over two years and on average we pay annually 1500+ between medications, bloodwork, check ups etc. The price of medication almost doubled recently for no obvious reason. I was picking up my cats meds 3x$80 and said I will take one now (as we requested on the phone) since his blood work is scheduled for two days later. One was for $40 ( $20 dispensing fees!!!!) I asked if his blood work will require to continue on same meds can I pick the remaining two up they said no you will have to pay dispensing fees again even thu they already there and they will go back on the shelve as is .. when I asked why they blamed it on how their system works and process payment … absolute joke !!! I don’t recommend stay away and find a different vet save ur selves the headache
I've been taking my pets here for years. They provide excellent veterinary care, and they also discuss our pets' health sensitively and compassionately. They understand that pet owners can't always afford expensive treatments, and they discuss options respectfully--including the option not to proceed with a difficult or expensive treatment.
Very friendly and very gentle and caring for the animals
Over charges, bad vet, lack of information. Amxiety going in knowing we were going to get talked down to. Cat broke his leg, had an infection that the new vet found, was there during visits to the last vet. We pay half for everything at four paws, a much kinder, helpful, informative expierience. The vet techs at spryfeild were very kind.
I got my first kitten from these folks about 35 years ago when they were in their old building at the bottom of Cowie Hill. I’ve always gotten wonderful service from them. The staff are always kind and caring and they are so easy to deal with. Their prices are fairly comparable to other vet clinics. Will always recommend this veterinarian clinic and the Veterinarians there.
My dog loves these guys! Best vet in HRM.
Great staff
I’ve been there 3 times since moving here from BC in July 2018. All three times I’ve had amazing service!
The staff at the Spryfield Animal Hospital are friendly and professional and without question they LOVE their furry clients. I value the steps they have put in place for Covid protocols including this last visit where I could not hold my dog while the doctor examined him, however the assistant was there helping out and it was a much more professional experience than when I hold him. LOL Thanks so much for your service .
prices are very high I would recommend shopping around
Since moving to Halifax I have never had any issues with the service, great staff, clean and always great with all of my fur babies.
These guys take such good care of our 3 babies! I love how excited they are when we come in with our kitties and how much love they give them. They are SO patient with all of our questions and are always helpful in finding ways to accommodate all 3 of our cats the best they can. I'm so glad we went to them when we moved to Halifax!
Coco had a great appointment and was treated with dignity. So happy that I have Spryfield Animal Clinic to take care of her.
This was my first appointment there with my new puppy. Staff were prompt and courteous. They provided me with lots of info on how to properly train and raise a new puppy while getting his boosters. The doctor was very knowledgeable and wonderful with my dog. Sent me home with a free bag of puppy info and gifts. A+ business and staff.
This was our first visit to Spryfield Animal Hospital. My Pomeranian is 3 years and 8 months old. I have to say hands down this was one of the best vet visits I have ever experienced. I have had many fur babies over the years and have lived in different areas and even though I have been lucky to always have great vets I have to say I have never felt so comfortable and happy. The front clinic staff were awesome, our tech was great and Dr Nancy Kersey was just so awesome. I didn't find their prices to be too high like some people have posted in their reviews. For me they are in my neighborhood which is a plus but I would have definitely paid extra for the experience. We previously were with St Margarets Bay but they are harder to get an appointment with and a half hour away. I was always treated nice but never had as great of an experience as I did today. My cheeks were hurting by the time I left from smiling. She is so knowledgeable and down to earth. I've been holding off on getting my dog spayed because she is small dog, which is new for me, and for some reason I couldn't bring myself to putting her through it. Dr Nancy explained the benefits to me, which in all my years of having dogs, I've been told all of the risks of not spaying before (was more about population control). We didn't even notice that she had given her vaccine, which I've never experienced that before. Definitely only great things to say.
I feel great taking my animals here and their always so friendly I just find their prices are a bit high, but other then that it's a good vet to go to.
Dedicated staff and very helpful.
Do not recommend this place!!!!!! My family pets have been going here for years and they are constantly changing staff, which is a red flag for me. We recently put our family dog down and the experience was horrible. The vet was extremely rude asking if she was gone yet and had to lay on a ratty blanket in her last moments. I have also heard terrible things about this place from friends who used to go but changed hospitals due to the poor service. Will never take any of my animals to this hospital and will tell others not to.
They were very helpful and quick to respond to the needs of my cat.
Great vet total down to earth, vet there . Great place local for your pet. They seem to care a lot, is what you would want.
All of the employees are so kind and are hard working. To make your visit great.
Friendly, knowledgable and easy to deal with . Also they're fair with the pricing .
Unless you’re making a ridiculous amount of money....don’t bring your pets here. The prices are outrageous for appointments and testing. Worth making the trip to burnside instead.
We have been clients for around 16 years, and everyone there cares about us as pet owners, and are gentle and compassionate with our cats. Recently, we lost our dear Cocoa, and under their care, she had a dignified peaceful end to her suffering. They liaise with other emergency veterinarians whom we have had to go to as well. If we could give them more than a 10, we would. Pat Geddes-Lane Pam Geddes
We always take our pets here. Premises are very clean. Staff always friendly and helpful. They care about the humans as much as the animals. Prices are comencerate with services,
Ok for basic shots. Had a tragic outcome with a pet that I believe should not have happened. I will never take a seriously sick pet there again.
Caring and responsive staff. Excellent care every time.
Expensive, they didn’t spot a wound in my cat! It got infected I went back and they wanted to charge me for that!! No no no no :(
Great staff and great hospital!
Could use a better selection
Great service every time I bring my cats in, I even adopted my baby girl from this particular clinic. Anyone who complains about the costs of the procedures in a clinic like this simply doesn't understand or appreciate having human medical coverage mostly subsidized in this country.
The staff here are all amazing and me and the doggo love going here.
I got my kitten Butters at 8 weeks old, staff have been very informative, helpful and comprehensive about any treatments and care needed. This was especially important considering I took this cat in from a family's litter, and was uneducated about required vaccinations and treatments. I"ll definitely be returning to this location.
I would recommend Spryfield Animal Hospital to anyone very friendly and professional and great with our pet I want to thank the team for taking such great care of Khloe very pleased.
I have recently had to visit this site due to a dog I obtain from Texas. They were very thorough in their examination of him and informative on the condition of my new dog and the appropriate action that needs to be done. I would recommend Spryfield Animal Hospital.
This place is the worst vet I've ever been to, they just suck your money out and are completely useless, especially a new vet that worked on a farm she's especially rude to customers. I wont't be back, this place used to be better
The veterinarians and vet techs are wonderful here…they are compassionate to you and your pet! They are thoughtful and kind, clearly love their careers and your concerns for your pet…. but you have to get past the front desk people… On many occasions, they have been outwardly rude, condescending and blatantly bothered to deal with clients One specific longer hair blonde gal really does not speak clearly, shows in her voice on the phone and in person that she does not want to be there or talk to you, is frustrated when you ask a question- basically makes you feel difficult over any small thing. She is Not pleasant to deal with under any stressful situations. She clearly does not like her career and should not be in one that deals with the public. Other front desk staff have been wonderful and kind and open and interact with The animals and are excited you’re there, eager to help. The clinic is great otherwise!! It would be perfect if that sort of staff was not greeting you on the phone or in person anymore though. She is just putrid.
Took my cat there and they were very good with her. They were helpful answering my questions
Dr. Mencher is the most amazing vet I have ever dealt with. Extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. I can't say enough good things about him. Staff are helpful and friendly. Great place to take your pet if they need medical care.
Pricey.
You denied me an appointment for my sick cat because I was 10mins late. I had a freak accident with the cat carrier which is why I was late. I had only just made the appointment an hour before hand. My cats condition has since declined. The 1 star is appropriate .
The vets and techs were so friendly and caring with my crazy cat
Friendly staff and assortment of food and accessories. (advantage for flea control) There's a scale in the waiting room and parking, in front.
When I brought my cat in the staff were friendly and caring. The prices are worth it because our pets are.it is easy to get to and clean. I'll be back..????
Just moved to Halifax and I would say they took us in with open arms. Best pet clinic hands down. My little dog will be a patient at this clinic going forward. The technicians were so great with my nervous dog and the vet gave me a lot of Advice for things that he wasn’t even looking at. I asked questions and they were more than happy to help.
Technician is wonderful and a lot of help although I find the prices a little high.
I have had no issues, they treat and take care of my dog. My dog enjoys going to the vet. I take him there regularly to say hello and to weigh him. Everyone that works there is very nice
The vet and the techs we have dealt with so far are absolutely amazing. They're kind, super friendly, everyone always seem super excited when they see Nena and I couldn't be happier with out decision to go there with our dog. Their hours are super convenient too, which helps a lot and the staff are always super patient with my stubborn/super curious dog! I would 100% recommend them to anyone!
The receptionists are always welcoming, the veterinarian technicians knowledgable, and veterinarian Dr. Susan Brown (the one I see) is lovely and great with my pups. On our last visit the phone conversation afterwards (due to COVID) was helpful. She explained the treatment that Betty will need and why it's best to do it sooner rather than later. She also informed me of a knee problem that I didn't know of before. Very thorough in her examination and the details passed on to me.
Amazing staff and we are lucky enough to have Dr Brown as our vet. Most caring and knowledgeable vet i have ever met.
Great and friendly staff
They got me in quickly as my dog was quite sick. Didn't try and suggest more than what was needed. And just overall empathetic, kind and very knowledgeable. Refreshing ! Shout out to Trish and Dr. Devereux!
Took our cat there to get examined after being outside for two weeks. The staff were so good with her. They made sure to take their time when checking her out.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable
Staff were very kind and willing to answer questions
All of the Vets and Technicians took such wonderful care of my Cat Tom, they always answered any questions I had about things that would happen because my cat had diabetes. When the time came .in April 2016 for him to be put to sleep , They were so kind to Tom and myself..It was such a hard time But they really helped me through it...I always tell people looking for a vet to consider Spryfield Animal Hospital.
Great staff
I've been taking my pet to this vet for years. this was his animal hospital he was young he got his needles there and had surgery to be neutered. as he got older he had rapid weight loss, became lethargic and I called the vet, his vet. explain the whole situation and they gave me an appointment for the following week. they said if it was an emergency to call 4 paws. the lady who answered the phone and that I spoke to had the compassion and understanding of a water jug. the best thing I did was call four paws they got frisky in right away, examined him and unfortunately we had to make a choice that I already knew had to happen. when frisky needed his vet the most, they abandoned him. getting him in next week was just not humane or the right thing to do. I will never return to this animal hospital and advise anyone who loves their pets and best friends not to go here. thank you so much for 4 paws for knowing that our pets are very important and their health and well-being is number one. shame on you spryfield animal hospital. you have lost me as one of your customers and I will never take a pet that I love anywhere near your animal hospital. shame on you
Not very friendly.
Bright my new boy Charlie in for a check up and vaccines & everything was handled professionally and the staff were knowledgeable and answered all of my questions & gave me good advice.
Overall a great hospital for my pet Cat, Dewey.
Great staff. Great knowledgable vet. Reasonably priced compared to some other vet hospitals.
Nice people and decent service but they told us that the price was gonna be half of what it was
Went in with my dog because he had somthing lodged in his throat, asked to see a vet the girl tells me sorry we dont have a vet on ?! Why are you even open if you dont have a vet on duty? That could have been the difference between life and death with the wasted time going there. I will never be back!
The service to have my cat's food delivered was terrific.
Nice lady at the counter and they had the cat food that I needed.
Wow. ANGEL, our Yorkie puppy, didn't flinch when she had her 2nd needle, but I did.
Our cat had been having some dental issues over the past few months and we went in to get him taken care of via surgery. We we were very impressed with the caring nature of the staff and the hard-working clinical staff. Nancy (the vet) was incredibly supportive and laid everything out for us. We could not have asked for better. A++ service, we would highly recommend them based on our experiences with them. Dan Wandless Williamswood, NS
Everyone is always so friendly and happy to help, even if it’s just a question over the phone.
I'm putting my faith for both my pets with this place. There has been misunderstandings and a feel of money grabbing but that being said still working together for the good of my pets,I hope. These places seem to be all the same, just depends how we all click together. And if the Vet stays long enough to get to know you and your pets.
